DOOR AJAR SENSOR GETS STUCK AND INDICATES AN OPEN DOOR, EVEN THOUGH IT IS PROPERLY CLOSED AND LATCHED. THIS LEADS TO BEING UNABLE TO GET THE DOME LIGHT TO COME OFF AND DRAINS BATTERIES. VARYING NUMBERS OF DOOR CLOSURES ARE REQUIRED TO GET THE SENSOR TO RESET. MAKES NO DIFFERENCE IF DOOR IS SLAMMED OR SHUT GENTLY.
DOOR AJAR SENSOR IS CONTINUOUSLY COMING ON WHEN DOOR IS CLOSED,INTERIOR LIGHTS COMING ON AND NIGHT, BLINDING DRIVER. LIGHT COMES ON WHILE DRIVING.
THE "DOOR AJAR" LIGHT WILL NOT SHUT OFF EVEN WHEN THE DOOR IS CLOSED AND THIS LEAVES THE INTERIOR LIGHTS ON WHICH IS A NIGHTTIME DRIVING HAZARD. THE DEALER SAYS THE LATCH IS DEFECTIVE AND FORD WILL NOT ASSIST IN THE REPAIR. THIS HAPPENS WHEN THE CAR IS MOVING AND STATIONARY. DUE TO THE HIGH COST (OVER $550.00) PEOPLE ARE GOING TO IGNORE THE REPAIR AND THEN DRIVE IMPAIRED. SO HOW MANY ACCIDENTS ARE REQUIRED BEFORE FORD IS FORCED TO DEAL WITH THIS ISSUE? *TR
FOR THE 2ND TIME IN 2 YEARS MY DOOR AJAR LIGHT COMES ON WHEN THE CAR IS STARTED AND IN MOTION WHICH LEAVES THE OVERHEAD LIGHTS ON AND THE DOORS UNLOCKED WHILE DRIVING. THE OVERHEAD LIGHT ON AT NIGHT AND THE DOORS UNLOCKED WHILE DRIVING IS DANGEROUS AND I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY FOR AN ISSUE THAT IS SAFETY RELATED FOR A SECOND TIME IN 2 YEARS. *TR
WHILE DRIVING THE CAR SHUTS OFF AND A WRENCH POPS UP ON THE DASH. LAT TIME IT HAPPEN MY WIFE WAS DRIVING IN AN INTERSECTION . THAN 2 MORE TIMES IN A 4 MILE DRIVE . WE HAD THIS ISSUE BEFORE AND HAD THE THROTTLE BODY REPLACED ABOUT 8 MONTHS AGO AND THAT WORKED TILL NOW. MY WIFE IS TO SCARED TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE AND I CANT SAY I BLAME HER . *TR
DOOR AJAR LIGHT GOES ON, EVEN WHEN DOOR IS CLOSED, WHICH LEADS TO ISSUES AT TIMES WITH THE DOOR CLOSING. FORD IS AWARE ITS AN ISSUE, HAS BEEN REPLACED ON THIS VEHICLE PREVIOUSLY, AND THEY REFUSE TO ISSUE A RECALL ON IT. DRAINS THE BATTERY AND IS A SAFETY ISSUE.
DRIVER DOOR AJAR WAS LIT AND WARNING CHIME SOUNDED EVERY TIME I STOPPED WHEN THE DOOR WAS NOT OPEN.
A WARNING LIGHT IS DISPLAYED STATING THE PASSENGER DOOR IS AJAR WHEN IT IS NOT. THE DOOR CAN BE REPEATEDLY OPENED AND CLOSED ATTEMPTING TO MAKE THE WARNING LIGHT GO OFF, IT DOES NOT WORK THE MAJORITY OF THE TIME. THE INTERIOR LIGHTS WILL NOT GO OFF, WHICH MAKES DRIVING A HAZARD. ALSO, THE DOOR WILL NOT LOOK WHEN THE WARNING LIGHT IS ON. ANOTHER SAFETY CONCERN. *TR
THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR AJAR SWITCH IS NOT WORKING WHICH CAUSES THE INTERIOR LIGHTS TO REMAIN ON WHILE DRIVING OR LEAVE LIGHTS ON TO DRAIN THE BATTERY WHEN PARKED.
THE DRIVER DOOR AJAR LIGHT STAYS ON MOST OF THE TIME. IT MAKES THE INTERIOR LIGHTS STAY ON UNLESS TURNED OFF MANUALLY AND CAN DRAIN THE CARS BATTERY AND MAKES IT HAZARDOUS TO DRIVE AT NIGHT. THE NOTIFICATION LIGHT COMES ON FROM WHEN THE CAR IS IN PARK AND WHEN THE CAR IS SHIFTED INTO GEAR OR ROLLING THE NOTIFICATION SOUND COMES ON. THE DOORS DO NOT LOCK WHEN THE CAR IS IN MOTION AND THE NOTIFICATION SOUND BEEPS FOR SEVERAL MINS AFTER THE CAR IS IS IN DRIVE.
FORD EDGE LEFT REAR DOOR LATCH FAILING. THE LATCH SENSOR RANDOMLY FAULTS AND IT'S UNCLEAR IF THE DOOR IS PROPERLY LATCHED OR NOT. THE ALARM WILL SOUND RANDOMLY AS THE SENSOR FAILS WHILE THE CAR IS LOCKED. THIS COULD CAUSE A SITUATION WHERE THE DOOR IS NOT PROPERLY CLOSED BUT THE SENSOR SAYS IT IS. PASSENGERS IN THE CAR COULD BE EJECTED. LATCH FAULTS WHEN STATIONARY OR IN MOTION.
SOMETIMES WHEN THE ABS ACTIVATES THE BRAKE PEDAL BECOMES VERY SOFT, YOU CAN STILL STOP BUT YOU HAVE VERY LITTLE BRAKING FOR THE FIRST 3/4 OF THE PEDAL. I HAVE FIGURED OUT THAT I CAN REST THE ABS CONTROL MODULE BY GOING IN TO THE CAR WASH AND ACTIVATING THE ABS A FEW TIMES. I THINK THE PROBLEM IS THE HCU AND I COULD HAVE ONE PUT IN BUT THIS SEEMS TO ME TO BE A DESIGN FAILURE AND SHOULD BE COVERED UNDER A RECALL. ITS ONLY HAPPENED A COUPLE OF TIMES WHEN DRIVING DURING ICY CONDITIONS BUT IT SHOULD NOT HAPPEN AND COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. *TR
DRIVER SIDE DOOR AJAR LIGHT COMES ON. CAN BE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND INTERIOR LIGHT COME ON DUE TO DOOR AJAR ISSUE. DOOR WILL NOT LOCK WHILE CAR IS MOVING DUE TO ISSUE MAKING THIS A SAFETY ISSUE. *TR
DOOR AJAR SENSOR FAILED AND SAYS DOORS ARE OPEN WHEN THEY ARE LATCHED. YOU ARE NOT ABLE TO LOCK THE DOORS WHEN DRIVING WITH THIS ALARM. *TR
THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE BRAKE BOOSTER - POSSIBLE 13N02 BRAKE BOOSTER FSA - THAT I WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF. I CALLED THE FORD DEALER TO DIAGNOSE A BRAKE ISSUE AND A WEEK LATER THEY GOT ME IN AND THEN CASUALLY TOLD ME THEY REPLACED MY BRAKE BOOSTER AT NO CHARGE BECAUSE IT WAS PART OF A RECALL. I JUST SIGNED UP ON NHSTA WEBSITES TO BE BETTER INFORMED.
WHEN YOU CLOSE THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR, THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT REMAINS ON. ALL THE INTERIOR LIGHTS STILL LIT. THEY EVENTUALLY GO OFF ONCE YOU START DRIVING BUT WHEN YOU STOP IT DINGS, TELLING YOU TO PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK DUE TO THE DOOR BEING AJAR. YOU CAN NOT LOCK ANY OF THE DOORS AT ALL, WHICH IS A SAFETY HAZARD. DUE TO THIS ISSUE IT CAN DRAIN YOUR BATTERY IF YOU DON'T SHUT THE DOOR OVER AND OVER AGAIN UNTIL IT REGISTERS THE DOOR IS CLOSED.
ABOUT A YEAR AGO, THE DRIVER DOOR AJAR LIGHT CAME ON AND WILL NOT GO OUT. THIS HAS CAUSED THE BATTERY TO DRAIN MULTIPLE TIMES DUE TO INTERIOR LIGHTS STAYING ON ALL THE TIME. EVERY TIME THE VEHICLE COMES TO A STOP, THE "SHIFT TO PARK" WARNING COMES ON ALONG WITH THE DOOR CHIME. FORD CLAIMS IT WAS NOT UNDER WARRANTY AND QUOTED ~$400 TO REPLACE (~$250 IF IT COULD BE "REPAIRED"). A FEW WEEKS AGO, THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE AJAR LIGHT CAME ON AND WILL NOT GO OUT. DUE TO THIS, WE CAN NO LONGER LOCK THE REAR DOOR WHILE DRIVING. THIS IS THE LOCATION OF OUR CHILD'S SEAT! ALSO, WE NO LONGER CAN TELL IF THE DOORS ARE PROPERLY CLOSED OR NOT. *TR
DOOR AJAR SENSOR ...THIS IS CAUSING MY DOME LIGHTS TO JUST COME ON GOING DOWN THE ROAD AND TANK GOODNESS WHEN THIS HAPPENED THERE WASN'T ANOTHER CAR NEAR ME BECAUSE I WOULD HAVE CRASHED INTO THEM BECAUSE IT BLINDED ME. ALSO MY DOORS WANT LOCK WHEN THIS SENSOR IS MESSING UP. I HAVE ALREADY HAD ONE REPLACED AND NOW ANOTHER ONE I THINK THIS IS A MAJOR PROBLEM AND FORD WILL NOT RECOGNIZE IT.
DOOR LATCH AJAR WARNING. DOORS ARE UNABLE TO STAY LOCKED. IT IS UNSAFE. THE WARNING LIGHT FOR "DOOR AJAR" AND "PUT GEAR IN PARK" COMES ON NONSTOP WHILE DRIVING. THE LIGHT STAYS ON AFTER PARKED FOR AT LEAST 20 MINUTES WHICH DRAINS BATTERY. I WENT TO THE DEALER AND HAD TO PAY $615.91 TO FIX. I WOULD LIKE TO BE REIMBURSED FOR FAULTY LOCKS. I AM ALSO AFRAID THE OTHER THREE ARE GOING TO DO THE SAME THING.
DRIVER DOOR SENSOR KEEPS TELLING ME THE DOOR IS AJAR WHEN IT IS NOT. IT WILL DO THIS WHILE YOU ARE CRUISING DOWN THE FREEWAY CAUSING YOU TO FREAK OUT THINKING ONE OF THE KIDS HAS OPENING A DOOR IN THE BACK SEAT! THIS WILL BE THE 2ND TIME I'VE HAD TO TAKE THIS IN TO BE FIXED SINCE OWNING THE CAR, WHICH IS COMING UP ON ONE YEAR.
THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT STAYS ON, EVEN WHEN THE DOOR IS CLOSED. THIS CAUSES THE INTERIOR LIGHTS TO STAY ON, AND PREVENTS THE DOORS FROM BEING LOCKED. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD BECAUSE THE DRIVER CAN'T SEE OUT THE WINDOWS AT NIGHT. IT STARTED INTERMITTENTLY, AND AT FIRST SEEMED TO RANDOMLY APPEAR AND DISAPPEAR. AFTER ABOUT ONE MONTH, IT NOW STAYS ON ALL THE TIME.
DRIVER DOOR AJAR LIGHT STAYS ON OR COMES IN INTERMITTENTLY. THIS WILL CAUSE DOME LIGHT TO COME ON AT NIGHT AND BLIND ME, ALSO CAUSES DOORS NOT TO BE ABLE TO LOCK. THESE ARE GRAVE SAFETY CONCERNS OF MINE WHERE I HAVE A SEVEN YEAR OLD AND ON THE OCCASION I HAVE TO DRIVE THROUGH "UNSAFE" NEIGHBORHOODS TO GET HOME. THIS HAS ALSO CAUSED MY BATTERY TO DIE AND LEFT ME STRANDED. ALL OF THESE ISSUES ARE SAFETY RELATED TO EITHER MY VEHICLE, AS WELL AS MINE AND MY FAMILY'S LIVES.

DRIVER'S DOOR AJAR NOTIFICATION ON DASH PANEL WHEN DOOR IS CLOSED. DOME LIGHTS STAY ON LEADING TO DRAINED BATTERY AND LOCKS WILL NOT ENGAGE DUE TO VEHICLE NOT RECOGNIZING DOOR IS CLOSED. DOOR LOCKS DO NOT ENGAGE WHEN DRIVING OR EXITING THE CAR, EVEN WHEN DOOR IS TIGHTLY CLOSED. LOCKS DO NOT ENGAGE AND DOME LIGHTS REMAIN ON WHEN STATIONARY AS WELL AS IN MOTION AND VEHICLE NOTIFIES TO SHIFT TO PARK AND CLAIMS DRIVERS DOOR IS AJAR. NO RECALLS AND VERY PRICEY TO HAVE LOCAL DEALERSHIP INSPECT, DIAGNOSE, AND REPLACE ENTIRE DOOR LATCH MECHANISM. I HAVE ONLY OWNED MY CAR FOR A YEAR. 47,349.8 MILES. HAVE DONE EXTENSIVE ONLINE RESEARCH AND FOUND MANY OTHER OWNERS HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. *TR
THE DRIVER DOOR AJAR INDICATION EVEN WHEN THE DOOR IS CLOSED. THE WARNING KEEPS ALERTING THE DRIVER. IT SAYS SHIFT TO PARK AND CLOSE THE DOOR. BUT THE DOOR IS CLOSED. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. THIS OCCURS WHEN AT A STOP OR JUST BEFORE LEAVING A STOP LIGHT.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD EDGE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, THE VEHICLE STARTED TO DECELERATE. THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL NUMEROUS TIMES, BUT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE. THE CONTACT COASTED INTO A PARKING LOT, WAITED FOR A WHILE, AND RESUMED DRIVING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 102,894.
THE DRIVER'S DOOR AJAR WARNING LIGHT AND ALARM GOES OFF EVEN WHEN THE DOOR IS SECURELY LATCHED. SLAMMING DOOR DOESN'T HELP AND INTERIOR LIGHT CAN STAY ON DRAWING DOWN THE BATTERY. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE SINCE IT CAN'T BE CERTAIN IF THE DOOR IS REALLY CLOSED. ALARM GOES OFF EVERY TIME CAR SLOWS DOWN OR STOPS. THIS WAS A PROBLEM THE DAY WE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE AND WAS REPAIRED BY THE DEALER THAT DAY. IT BEGAN HAPPENING AGAIN LAST WEEK.
DRIVER SIDE DOOR AJAR ISSUE. 2 YEARS AGO I HAD THE ISSUE, TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE THE LATCH REPLACED BECAUSE THE CAR THOUGHT THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR WAS AJAR. THEY REPLACED THE LATCH AND NOW I AM HAVING THE SAME ISSUE WITH THE REPLACEMENT LATCH ON THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR. THIS DOESN'T ALLOW THE DOORS TO BE LOCKED SINCE THE CAR THINKS THE DOORS ARE OPEN. ALSO, INTERIOR LIGHTS COME ON. THIS CAN BE A SAFETY HAZARD AND APPEARS TO BE A RE-OCCURRING PROBLEM.

SEE ATTACHED DOCUMENT POST TO FORD. OUR PROBLEMS HAVE BEEN ONGOING FOR A FEW MONTHS....ONE REPAIR AFTER ANOTHER. I HAVE NOTED THE DATE OF THE "UNABLE TO TURN OFF LIGHTS"ISSUE BUT HAVE DOCUMENTATION FOR ALL REPAIRS THIS YEAR.
I KEEP GETTING A DOOR AJAR WARNING EVEN WHEN THE DOOR IS COMPLETELY SHUT. THEREFORE MY LIGHTS STAY ON EXTRA AND MY AUTO DOOR LOCKS WONT LOCK, AND I HAVE A CHILD IN THE REAR SEAT SO THE CHILD COULD OPEN THE DOOR IF I DON'T MANUALLY LOCK THEM...NOT SAFE!. UPON SEARCHING, THE DOOR SENSOR NEEDS TO BE REPLACED WHICH IS NO EASY TASK. FORD SHOULD REPLACE FOR NO FEE.
THE DRIVERS' DOOR LATCH IS NOT WORKING PROPERLY. THE DOOR AJAR ALARM IS DISPLAYED ON THE DASHBOARD -AND THE INTERIOR LIGHTS WILL NOT TURN OFF. IT HAS CAUSED A DRAINED BATTERY AND DECREASED VISIBILITY AT NIGHT -DUE TO GLARE FROM INTERIOR LIGHTS ON WINDSHIELD. I AM ALSO NOT SURE IF THE DOOR IS ACTUALLY PROPERLY LATCHED-AND IF IT WILL OPEN WHILE IN MOTION. ISSUE - 'SHIFT TO PARK' WARNING INDICATOR IS SHOWN WHEN THE VEHICLE IS PARKED AND THE SHIFTER IS IN THE 'P' POSITION. DOORS CANNOT BE LOCKED AND INTERNAL/EXTERNAL LIGHTS REMAIN ON WHILE IN THIS 'SHIFT TO PARK' POSITION DRAINING THE BATTERY. WHILE FOOT BRAKE PEDAL IS ENGAGED, SHIFTING AWAY FROM 'P' AND BACK TO 'P' SOMETIMES REGISTERS THE VEHICLE AS IN THE CORRECT PARK POSITION. REPEAT UNTIL WARNING MESSAGE IS GONE. THE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY ON A FLAT SURFACE BUT I AM NOT SURE IF THE VEHICLE IS REALLY PARKED SINCE IT'S WARNING I'M NOT BUT THE SHIFTER IS IN THE 'P' POSITION. I DARE NOT TRY THIS ON A HILL--AND ALWAYS THE BRAKE PEDAL ENGAGED WHILE I'M FIDDLING WITH THE HAND SHIFTER. WHEN DID THIS HAPPEN? AT LEAST 4 TIMES A WEEK FOR A YEAR. *TR

MESSAGE SAYS TO "PUT CAR IN PARK AND CLOSE DRIVERS DOOR". DOOR CLOSES WITHOUT ISSUE BUT DRIVERS DOOR AJAR MESSAGE DOES NOT GO AWAY. SUSPECT SWITCH IS BAD IN DOOR. THIS CAN BE A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION IF DOORS CANNOT BE LOCKED AFTER STARTING VEHICLE!! COULD LEAD TO CARJACKING THEFT OR MY WIFE AND CHILDREN BEING STRANDED IF BATTERY DIES. THIS NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED IMMEDIATELY!!
I HAVE HAD THE BRAKE BOOSTER WORKED ON SHORTLY AFTER I BOUGHT MY NEW 2012 EDGE BRAND NEW.. I NOTICED THIS WEEK THAT THE BRAKE DOESN'T DEPRESS WHEN STARTING UNTIL AFTER IT STARTS.. I DON'T HAVE A PROBLEM BRAKING WHEN DRIVING. *TR

DOOR AJAR WARING ON DASH APPEARS WITH DOORS FULLY CLOSED AND KEEPS INTERIOR LIGHTS ON FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME SO THAT THE CAR BATTERY BECOMES DRAINED. TOOK TO DEALER AND WAS QUOTED $500 FOR THE REPAIR. OUTRAGEOUS!
THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR AJAR LIGHT STAYS ON WHEN THE DOOR IS ACTUALLY CLOSED, CAUSING THE INTERIOR LIGHTS TO STAY ON. HAD THE SWITCH CLEANED AT A FORD DEALER A YEAR AGO AND NOW STARTED TO DO THE SAME THING.
DOOR AJAR LIGHT REMAINS ON, EVEN THOUGH THE DOOR IS PROPERLY CLOSED. DOORS WILL NOT LOCK WHILE THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT IS ACTIVE. INTERIOR LIGHTS WILL NOT GO OFF WHILE THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT IS ACTIVE.
REAR LEFT DOOR AJAR OPEN ALARM DON'T DOES EVEN WHEN THE DOOR IS CLOSED. IT RANDOMLY WORKS AND CAUSE CENTRE LOCK NOT LOCKED AUTOMATICALLY! PLEASE HELP ME TO KEEP MY KIDS SAVE. THANKS
UPON STARTING THE VEHICLE THE "DRIVER DOOR AJAR" LIGHT STAYS ON, CLOSING THE DOOR NUMEROUS TIMES AND LIGHT WILL NOT GO OUT AND THE "SHIFT INTO PARK" LIGHT COMES ON WHEN LETTING OFF THE BRAKE LIKE WHEN I PUT IT IN REVERSE, OR AT EVERY STOP THIS IS ANNOYING. ESPECIALLY IN TRAFFIC THE CHIME GOES OFF (DRIVER DOOR AJAR OR SHIFT INTO PARK)AND YOUR TRYING TO KEEP FROM CAUSING AN ACCIDENT CHECKING OUT THE LIGHTS TO SEE WHY THE CHIME IS GOING OFF. THIS IS FRUSTRATING.
THE DRIVER'S DOOR APPEARS TO CLOSE PROPERLY HOWEVER A WARNING LIGHT STATING THAT THE DOOR IS AJAR COMES ON. I OPEN AND CLOSE THE 2 OR 3 TIMES WITH A HARD SLAM AND THE LIGHT GOES OUT. THE CAR DOORS WILL NOT LOCK IF THIS WARNING LIGHT IS ON. I AM SCHEDULED TO HAVE THIS REPAIRED AT THE FORD DEALER AT A COST OF NEARLY $400. THE DEALER HAS TOLD ME THAT THIS IS A RECURRING PROBLEM ON THE EDGE. THE CAR HAS APPROX 42,000 MILES.
