I COULD BARELY STOP THE CAR. I WAS IN THE MOUNTAINS AND THERE WAS NO FORD DEALER IN THAT TOWN. I TOOK IT TO A LOCAL SHOP AND THEY SAID I SHOULD NOT DRIVE OVER A MOUNTAIN PASS. THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THE BRAKE BOOSTER. I HAD IT FIXED AND NOW FORD IS REFUSING TO PAY ME BACK. THEY STATE IT IS NOT A SAFETY RECALL.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD EDGE. EACH TIME THE PASSENGER DOOR WAS CLOSED, THE DOOR AJAR INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE DOOR HAD TO BE OPENED AND CLOSED A COUPLE OF TIMES IN ORDER FOR THE WARNING INDICATOR TO GO OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BOULEVARD FORD IN LEWES, DELAWARE WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SENSOR AND LATCH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED FOR TWO MONTHS. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. DISPLAY PANEL: DOOR AJAR INDICATOR. OPEN AND CLOSE THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR ON SEVERAL ACCOUNTS AND INDICATOR LIGHT WOULD NOT GO OUT ON THE DISPLAY PANEL. THIS INDICATOR REMAINS WHETHER STATIONARY OR IN MOTION.
BRAKES PRESS DOWN TO THE FLOOR AND WILL NOT STOP. SOMETIMES THE BRAKES ARE VERY HARD AND I'LL HAVE TO PUMP THEM. PUMPING STILL DOESNT GUARANTEE A COMPLETE STOP.
DOOR LATCH SWITCH MALFUNCTION CAUSING DOOR AJAR WARNING WHEN DOOR IS CLOSED AND VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. DOOR LOCKS WILL NOT LOCK AND CHILD SAFETY REAR LOCKS DO NOT ENGAGE (CHILD CAN OPEN DOOR WHEN IN MOTION). CHILD HAS NOT FALLEN OUT THE DOOR YET. AM GETTING IT REPAIRED AT MY EXPENSE BECAUSE IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE.
It’s been 3 times already when the car brake pedal, out of nowhere, has gone close to the bottom of the floor while trying to make a stop. The brake hardly stops the vehicle afterwards. So I need to be extra careful driving slowly back home. It stays like that for a few days then it stars working again. Luckily I haven’t had an accident yet but I’m afraid it’s just a matter of time. I noticed many people have had the same problem and wonder why has there not been a recall. This is extremely dangerous. I’m the second owner, I believe, of this SUV. So I can only tell about my experiences, don’t know about the previous owner.
DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR INDICATES OPEN/AJAR WHEN CLOSED. THIS LEADS TO MULTIPLE PROBLEMS -- DOORS WON'T LOCK, INTERIOR LIGHTS STAY ON, ETC.
FRONT PASSENGER DOOR CAUSES LIGHT TO STAY ON AS DOOR AJAR. PER FORD IT IS THE LATCH AND NEEDS REPLACEMENT AT $517. SAME DOOR REPAIR WAS MADE 1 YEAR AGO AND FORD CHOSE TO CLEAN LATCH INSTEAD OF REPLACING WHEN IT WAS UNDER WARRANTY. NOW WARRANTY HAS EXPIRED AND THEY SAY LATCH NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. THIS IS THE 3RD DOOR THAT HAS HAD THIS SAME PROBLEM. WHEN DOOR AJAR LIGHT IS ON DOORS WILL NOT LOCK CAUSING A SAFETY HAZARD TO MY CHILDREN AS PASSENGERS.
THE CAR WOULD NOT STOP WHEN THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED. THE PEDAL FELT HARD AND THE CAR CONTINUED TO ROLL. IT CAME TO A STOP ON MY LAWN. I TOOK THE CAR TO MY FORD DEALER AND THEY IMMEDIATELY KNEW IT WAS THE BRAKE BOOSTER. IF I HAD BEEN IN TRAFFIC I MIGHT HAVE HAD A COLLISION OR WORSE. I DROVE IN MY DRIVEWAY AND HIT THE BRAKES VERY HARD AND AFTER THREE PANIC STOPS THEY SEEMED TO WORK. I PUT THE CAR AWAY AND THE SAME THING HAPPENED THE NEXT DAY. I DID THREE PANIC STOPS AND THE BRAKES BEGAN TO WORK. I THEN TOOK THE VEHICLE TO BOUCHER FORD WHERE THE SERVICE WRITER NEW WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS AS SOON AS I TOLD HER WHAT HAD HAPPENED. WHY IS THIS NOT A RECALL? MY CAR HAD NON-FUNCTIONING BRAKES! IF THERE WAS A RECALL I WAS NEVER NOTIFIED. I BOUGHT THE CAR NEW AND HAVE NOT CHANGED MY ADDRESS SINCE I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE. I HAVE SERVICED MY CAR SINCE NEW AT THE FORD DEALERSHIP.
THE DOOR AJAR INDICATOR COMES ON AND WILL NOT TURN OFF EVEN IF THE DOOR APPEAR CLOSED. EVEN OPENING AND CLOSING THE DOOR DOES NOR SEEMS TO HELP. DRIVING DOWN THE STREET, IT IS NEVER CLEAR WHETHER THE DOOR IS SAFETY CLOSED OR NOT.
"DRIVER DOOR AJAR" WARNING MESSAGE ILLUMINATES WITH DOOR SECURELY CLOSED.
DOOR JAR LIGHT REMAINS ON (DRIVERS SIDE REAR DOOR). DRAINS BATTERY, CAUSES INTERIOR LIGHT TO TURN ON WHILE DRIVING. IT'S A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THE SWITCHES IN THE 2011-13 FORD EDGE AND FORD IS DOING NOTHING TO FIX THE PROBLEM.
DOOR ADJAR LIGHT WILL NOT GO OFF.
MY 'DRIVER DOOR AJAR' WARNING SHOWS UP WHEN THE DOOR IS CLOSED AND SECURED. IT DOESN'T HAPPEN ALL OF THE TIME, BUT, OFTEN ENOUGH. SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH THE SWITCH.
THE DRIVERS SIDE "DOOR AJAR" WARNING LIGHT, REMAINS LIT WHEN DOOR IS CLOSED. IT PREVENTS THE DOORS FROM LOCKING. ALSO, THE INTERIOR LIGHTS STAY ON. VEHICLE IS STATIONARY.
DOOR AJAR ON MY DRIVER DOOR HAS BEEN CONTINUOUSLY ON EVEN THOUGH THE DOOR IS CLOSED. THIS OCCURS IN ALL SITUATIONS (DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY AND STREETS, TURNING, AND STATIONARY). THIS HAS BEEN ONGOING SINCE MAY 22. THE DOOR AJAR SOUND CONTINUOUSLY GOING OFF HAS CAUSED ISSUES WHEN I TURN MY SIGNAL LIGHT ON AT A STOP SIGN. THE DOOR AJAR ALARM OVERRIDES THE SOUND OF THE TURN BLINKER. THIS HAS CAUSED ME AT TIMES TO LOOK AT MY DASHBOARD TO VERIFY THAT MY TURN SIGNAL IS ACTUALLY ON. THIS IS A DANGEROUS DEFECT THAT CAN CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. THIS DEFECT ONLY LEAVES ME TWO DANGEROUS OPTIONS. 1. I CAN CHECK MY BLINKERS EVERY TIME THAT MY DOOR AJAR SOUND OVERRIDES THE BLINKER SOUND BUT THIS DISTRACTS ME FROM THE ROAD. 2. I ASSUME THAT MY BLINKER IS ALWAYS ON BUT THIS MIGHT RESULT IN A SITUATION WHERE THE BLINKER IS IN FACT NOT ON. THIS CAN CAUSE AN ACCIDENT BECAUSE OTHER DRIVERS MIGHT NOT KNOW THAT I AM TURNING.
DRIVER DOOR AJAR LIGHT STAYS ON WHILE DOORS ARE CLOSED, CAUSING INTERIOR LIGHTS TO STAY ON. SHIFT TO PARK MESSAGE COMES ON WHILE DRIVING. LIGHTS STAY ON IN CAR AFTER PARKING AND WON'T TURN OFF
DOOR LATCH MECHANISM... DOOR AJAR LIGHT CONSTANTLY ON
REAR RIGHT WHEEL MAKES BOUNCING NOICE WHEN DRIVING AND STEERING WHEEL STAYS TO THE RIGHT. WHEN BACK IN AND REAR IN GOES TO THE RIGHT. HAVE TAKEN CAR TO TWO DIFFERENT FORD DEALERSHIPS AND THEY CHARGE ME FOR ALIGNMENT AND SHOCK IN BACK AND CAR STILL A DANGER WHEN PULLING TO THE RIGHT. OVER 2000.00 PAID AND STILL NOT FIXED.
OCCASIONALLY WHEN BRAKING (WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION), THE BRAKE PEDAL BECOMES VERY SOFT AND IT FEELS LIKE YOU HAVE NO BRAKES FOR THE FIRST 3/4 OF THE PEDAL. EVENTUALLY YOU CAN SLOW DOWN AND COME TO A STOP BUT YOU HAVE TO MAKE SURE YOU GIVE YOURSELF A LOT OF ROOM AS IT TAKES A GREATER AMOUNT OF TIME TO STOP THE VEHICLE THAN NORMAL. THIS FAILURE IS SPORADIC BUT HAS OCCURRED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS - ESPECIALLY WHEN IT IS RAINING WHICH IS EVEN SCARIER AS YOU DEFINITELY WANT SOLID BRAKES WHEN DRIVING IN THE RAIN. BUT, IT HAS ALSO HAPPENED ON COMPLETELY DRY DAYS. WHEN THE CAR IS ON AND IN PARK, AND YOU PUSH THE BRAKE PEDAL YOU ALSO HEAR A "THUD" SOUND, AND CAN FEEL A VIBRATION IN THE GEAR SHIFT. WE HAVE BROUGHT THIS PROBLEM TO THE DEALER MULTIPLE TIMES AND THEY CONTINUE TO TELL US NOTHING IS WRONG, BUT IT APPEARS FROM READING OTHERS' POSTS THAT THE BRAKE BOOSTER HAS FAILED. WE ARE TAKING IT IN ONE MORE TIME TOMORROW AND WILL PUSH FOR RESOLUTION, BUT THIS REALLY FEELS LIKE SOMETHING FORD SHOULD ADDRESS AS A RECALL AS IT IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE.
REPEATED PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE. FIRST DOOR AJAR LIGHT HAS BEEN REPAIRED BECAUSE IT WOULD NOT SHUT OFF THE INTERIOR LIGHTS (NOT LEGAL TO DRIVE WITH THEM ON) AND THEREFORE DRAINED BATTERY. SAFETY HAZARD. ECOBOAST FAILED AND WE WERE TOLD BY THE DEALER THAT IT WAS A SAFETY HAZARD AND THAT WE COULD NOT DRIVE THE CAR....BIG EXPENSE! NOW A SECOND DOOR AJAR LIGHT WON'T GO OFF....DOORS DO NOT LOCK WHILE THE VEHICLE IS MOVING. SOMEBODY NEEDS TO STEP UP ON THESE ISSUES AND DO WHAT'S RIGHT. I CANNOT BELIEVE THAT SPECIFIC VEHICLES WERE RECALLED FOR THESE ISSUES WHEN MANY OTHERS ARE EXPERIENCING, AND PAYING FOR THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM ON THE SAME YEAR VEHICLE. SOMETHING SMELLS ABOUT THIS. MAJORLY DISAPPOINTED IN FORD AND NHTSA. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE LISTED COMPLAINTS ARE NOT THE ONLY ONES WE'VE HAD OVER THE PAST YEAR.
DRIVER DOOR ALARM/SENSOR/LIGHT. THE DOOR LIGHT CONTINUES TO STAY ON AFTER THE DOOR IS CLOSED. IT WILL DING AFTER I LET MY FOOD OFF OF THE BREAK, THE REST OF MY DOORS WILL NOT LOCK (SAFETY HAZARD I HAVE TWO KIDS. THE KIDS ARE ABLE TO OPEN THE DOOR WHEN I AM MOVING, I HAVE TO HAVE THEM PUSH THE LOCK DOWN SO IT WILL BE LOCKED), WE CONTINUE TO SHUT THE DOOR TO MAKE IT GO OFF. THIS HAS CLEARLY HAPPENED TO OTHER 2012 FORD EDGE MODELS. IT IS AN EXPENSIVE FIX AND IT A SAFETY HAZARD. THIS HAPPENS EVERYDAY, PARKED, ON, OFF, DRIVING, WHAT EVER THE CIRCUMSTANCES IT'S HAPPENING. WE HAVE TO MAKE SURE NOT TO LEAVE THE KEYS IN THE IGNITION OR THE BATTERY WILL RUN DOWN.
DOOR AJAR LIGHT STAYS ON. UNABLE TO LOCK DOORS WHICH MAKES IT TO WHERE ANYONE CAN ET IN CAR. ALSO THE LIGHTS STAY ON SO IT DRAINS THE BATTERY. AND YOU CANT DRIVE AT NIGHT BECAUSE THE INSIDE LIGHT SHINES IN YOUR EYES AND YOU CANT SEE THE ROAD.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD EDGE. WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE CONTACT ALLOWED THE VEHICLE TO COOL DOWN AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE. ADDITIONALLY, THE ALL WHEEL DRIVE INDICATOR AND WRENCH ICON ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT CALLED GROOVE FORD (LOCATED AT 10039 E ARAPAHOE RD CENTENNIAL, CO 80112 720-466-2895) AND WAS INFORMED TO CONTACT FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
THE DRIVER DOOR AND REAR DRIVER DOOR "DOOR AJAR" NOTIFICATION'S DO NOT TURN OFF, EVEN WHEN THE DOORS ARE CLOSED. THIS CAUSES THE DOME LIGHTS TO STAY ON WHICH DRAINS THE BATTERY, AND THEN THE VEHICLE WILL NOT START LATER. THIS ALSO PREVENTS THE DOORS FROM LOCKING WHILE DRIVING. THIS IS AN ONGOING ISSUE AND CAN NOT SEEM TO BE RESOLVED, EVEN AFTER A MECHANIC CLEANED AND LUBRICATED THE DOOR LATCHES.
THE DOOR AJAR WARNING LIGHT ON THE DASH WHEN THE DOOR IS CLOSED. THERE HAS BEEN NO ACCIDENT OR DAMAGE DONE ON THE DOOR LET ALONE THE VEHICLE. I UNDERSTAND THERE IS A LATCH MALFUNCTION. IF NOT CAUGHT WHEN EXITING THE VEHICLE THE ALARM THEN GOES OFF AFTER AN HOUR OR SO. THE DOOR SENSOR SEEMED TO CLEAR ITSELF AND WE MANAGED TO NOT USE IT AFTER GETTING IT TO CLEAR AND ALL OF A SUDDEN DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD THE WARNING POPPED BACK UP ON THE DASH, DOOR AJAR.
THE BRAKES ARE NOT WORKING PROPERLY. WHEN I PUT MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE, IT TAKES SEVERAL FEET BEFORE THE CAR WILL STOP. IF I WERE TO HAVE AN EMERGENCY, I COULDN'T STOP IN TIME TO AVOID IT. THIS OCCURS WHEN I AM DRIVING AND ATTEMPT TO STOP WHETHER I AM DRIVING FORWARD OR BACKING UP.
BATTERY DRAINS DUE TO SOME LIGHTS STAYING ON AS WELL AS DRIVER DOOR AJAR LIGHT STAYING ON, ALTHOUGH ALL DOORS ARE SHUT. THESE ISSUES HAPPEND THUS FAR WHEN TRYING TO PARK THE VEHICLE AND WHEN ENTERING TO DRIVE. THE LIGHT WILL STAY ON DURING DRIVING.
DOOR SENSOR INDICATES THAT DOOR IS AJAR WHEN THE DOOR IS SECURELY CLOSED. IN MY CASE SPECIFICALLY THE DRIVERS SIDE REAR DOOR. PROBLEM WAS INTERMITTENT AT FIRST. NOW INDICATOR LIGHT IS ALWAYS ON. THE INSIDE LIGHTS STAY ILLUMINATED (AS IF A DOOR WAS OPEN) AND GO OUT A MINUTE AFTER DRIVING. THE ALARM WILL NOT SET UP AS THE VEHICLE THINKS A DOOR IS AJAR.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD EDGE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 60 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED AND THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DIFFICULT TO DEPRESS. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE WAS SHIFTED INTO NEUTRAL CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO SWERVE RIGHT AND HOPPED INTO A DITCH AND CRASH INTO A TREE. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED A LEFT HAND AND CHEST INJURIES THAT NEEDED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A TOWING YARD. THE CONTACT WAS UNAWARE IF THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
DOOR AJAR LIGHT COMES ON AND IT IS DRAINING MY BATTERY.THE DDOR LATCH IS DEFECTIVE
THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT COMES ON WHEN DOOR IS COMPLETELY SHUT ON THE DRIVERS SIDE, IT PREVENTS FROM MY DOORS FROM LOCKING AND I HAVE CHILDREN IN THE CAR. IT HAS TRAPPED ME IN THE CAR, I HAD TO CLIMB OVER INTO THE PASSENGER SEAT AND EXIT OUT OF THAT DOOR. IT ALSO DRAINS MY BATTERY BECAUSE THE LIGHTS STAY ON IN THE CAR.
AFTER ENTERING MY VEHICLE AND THE DOOR WILL BE COMPLETELY CLOSED THE DOOR AJAR SENSOR WILL COME ON AND INTERIOR LIGHTS. ALSO, AS I WAS RIDING DOWN THE ROAD, OUT OF NO WHERE THE DOOR AJAR SENSOR COMES ON AND INTERIOR LIGHTS COME ON AND ALL THE DOORS UNLOCKED BY THEMSELVES...SOON AS I LOCKED THEM BACK, THEY UNCLOCKED AGAIN ON THEIR OWN.
DOOR AJAR WARNING LIGHT IS ALWAYS ON WHEN STARTING OR DRIVING THE VEHICLE.
2012 FORD EDGE LOCKS UNLOCK WHEN DRIVING SOMETIMES.
THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT AND WARNING SOUNDS ALERT WHEN ALL DOORS OF THE VEHICLE ARE DEFINITELY CLOSED. THIS HAS CAUSED ME TO RUIN 2 BATTERIES IN THE LAST 1.5 YEARS. ALSO IT CAUSES MY DOOR LOCKING MECHANISM TO NOT ENGAGE WHILE DRIVING LEAVING ME VULNERABLE AND UNSAFE AS A FEMALE DRIVER. MY FORD DEALER WILL CHARGE ME +$500 TO FIX THE 2 FAULTY MECHANISMS, THEN PROBABLY ANOTHER +$500 WHEN THE OTHER 2 BEGIN NOT WORKING.
THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR SENSOR DOES NOT REGISTER THE DOOR AS CLOSED WHEN IT IS. THE DASH WARNING LIGHT COMES ON AND STAYS ON AND THE INTERIOR LIGHTS DO NOT SHUT OFF. THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR HAS TO BE CLOSED UP TO 30 TIMES BEFORE THE SENSOR REGISTERS THE DOOR AS CLOSED. THE DASH WARNING REMAINS LIT AND "SHIFT TO PARK" COMES ON WHEN COMING TO A STOP AT A LIGHT.
MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON, SHOWS CODE P0299 WHICH REFERS TO AN UNDERBOOST CONDITION WITH THE TURBO OR SUPERCHARGER SYSTEM. MY MECHANIC SPOKE TO A DEALERSHIP WHO STATED THEY'VE PUT 3 PARTS IN THE VEHICLE THEY HAVE IN THE SHOP AND ITS STILL NOT FIXED. SOUNDS LIKE ITS A COMMON ISSUE. CAN YOU INVESTIGATE FOR A RECALL?
DOOR AJAR INDICATOR STAYS ON WHEN DOOR IS FULLY CLOSED KEEPING INTERIOR LIGHTS ON WHEN DRIVING CAUSING VISION PROBLEMS AT NIGHT. ALSO WILL NOT ALLOW DOORS TO BE LOCKED WHEN CAR IS IN MOTION.CAR HAS ONLY 12000 MILES AND IS IN LIKE NEW CONDITION AND HAS NOT BEEN EXPOSED TO HARSH WEATHER CONDITIONS.DOES NOT OCCUR EVERY TIME BUT IS BECOMING FREQUENT.
DRIVER-SIDE DOOR AJAR SWITCH FAILURE LEAVES DOORS UNLOCKED DURING TRAVEL. WITH THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR-AJAR SENSOR IN A FAILED STATE, THE VEHICLE'S PROGRAMMING IS AUTOMATICALLY UNLOCKING ALL DOORS CAUSING A PASSENGER SAFETY RISK. LOCKING VIA INTERIOR BUTTON IS OVERRIDDEN AND THE DOORS REMAIN UNLOCKED WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION.
DOOR SENSOR ISSUE THAT HAS BEEN CONTINUING SINCE EARLY 2015, NOT LONG AFTER I BOUGHT THE CAR. CURRENTLY MY "DOOR AJAR" INDICATOR APPEARS EVEN THOUGH MY DOOR IS CLOSED, EVEN AFTER BEING SLAMMED SHUT. THE REAR DRIVER SIDE DOOR ALONG WITH PASSENGER SIDE DOOR CONTINUE TO SAY OPEN AFTER THEY HAVE BEEN CLOSED AND I AM DRIVING. WHILE DRIVING I CANNOT MANUALLY LOCK THE DOOR, THEY JUST AUTOMATICALLY UNLOCK ON ITS OWN. THIS DOES NOT MAKE ME FEEL SAFE, ESPECIALLY DRIVING WITH MY CHILDREN. HIS PROBLEM HAS CAUSED ME TO REPLACE MY BATTERY SOONER THAN NEEDED BECAUSE THE DOME LIGHTS STAY ON FOR A LONG TIME, ALSO RANDOMLY TURN ON IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT. I ALSO CANNOT LOCK MY DOORS BECAUSE THAN THE ALARM GOES OFF RANDOMLY THINKING THE DOOR HAS BEEN OPENED. SO WETHER DRIVING OR PARKED, THIS HAS BEEN A PROBLEM.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE MASTER CYLINDER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. AFTERWARDS, THE VEHICLE MADE AN ABNORMAL HISSING NOISE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE BRAKE BOOSTER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT CALLED A LOCAL DEALER (SLOAN-FORD LINCOLN MERCURY INC, 115 S JAMES CAMPBELL BLVD, COLUMBIA, TN 38401). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 78,000.
I HAVE THIS CAR IN THE SHOP FOR PTU X2, THE SENSORS IN THE CAR WENT OUT CAUSING THE SHIFTER AND LIGHTS AND DOORS NOT TO WORK THE BREAKS WENT OUT AND NOW THE CYCLIC CONVERTER IS GOING OUT AND THERE IS A GAS LICK SOMEWHERE IN THE CAR OR A VIPER LICK SOMEWHERE AND ALL OF THIS STARTED 3000 MILES OVER THE WARRANTY AND IT HAS BEEN IN SHOP A TOTAL OF 5 TIMES IN THE PAST 2 YEARS
DOOR AJAR WARNING LIGHT STAYS ON CONSTANTLY, MUST SLAM DRIVER DOOR MULTIPLE (17+) TIMES TO GET THE LIGHT TO GO OUT. ONCE LIGHT FINALLY GOES OUT, I HEAR A CLICK AND THE LIGHT GOES BACK ON AGAIN. WORRIED THE LATCH IS NOT LOCKING PROPERLY. THIS HAPPENS WHETHER VEHICLE IS RUNNING OR NOT.

DOOR LATCH WON'T CLOSE. SHOWS THAT DOOR IS AJAR AND THE LIGHTS ON INSIDE WON'T GO OFF BECAUSE THE DOOR LOOKS AS IF IT'S OPEN. IT HAPPENS EACH TIME THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR IS OPENED. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR A FEW YEARS. IN 2014, I THOUGHT FORD HAD FIXED THE ISSUE AND I FOUND OUT TODAY THAT THEY ONLY CLEANED IT. HAVING TO PAY $588 FOR A NEW DOOR LATCH ISN'T GOOD ESPECIALLY WHEN THERE WAS A RECALL FOR SEVERAL FORD VEHICLES REGARDING THIS ISSUE.
