2016 Ford Edge Complaint Log

DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY WENT TO IDLE. HAD TO COAST TO A STOP ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE CAR WAS STILL IDLING BUT WHEN I TRIED TO GIVE IT GAS, NOTHING HAPPENED. I SHUT THE CAR OFF, RESTARTED AND IT WORKED FINE. APPROX. 10 MILES LATER, DID THE SAME THING. CAR ONLY HAS 9,200 MILES. I DRIVE THE INTERSTATE DAILY AND THIS IS GOING TO BE VERY DANGEROUS IF IT HAPPENS THERE. WILL BE AT THE DEALER AT 9:00AM SHARP TOMORROW.

STEPPED ON GAS AT INTERSECTION AND VEHICLE POWER SYSTEM STOPPED. THROTTLE AND POWER STEERING WENT OUT. DRIFTED TO SIDE OF ROAD. FORD REPAIRED AND SAID IT WAS THE ELECTRICAL THROTTLE

I WAS DRIVING A RENTAL FORD EDGE AND SLOWED DOWN FOR A TRAFFIC SIGNAL. WITHOUT WARNING, THE ACCELERATOR WOULD NOT WORK AND SUV WAS MOVING AT < 10 MILES/HR WITHOUT ANY ACCELERATION. ON CONTACTING THE ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE FROM RENTAL COMPANY, I WAS TOLD THAT THIS CAN HAPPEN WITH THIS VEHICLE AT 10-12,000 MILE MARK. I WAS TOLD TO TURN OFF THE IGNITION AND TURN OFF AFTER FEW SECONDS AND IT SHOULD WORK. ON DOING SO, I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE FOR FEW BLOCKS BUT THE VEHICLE STALLED AGAIN. THERE WAS NO WARNING ON SUV'S SCREEN. I WAS ALSO TOLD BY THE TOW TRUCK OPERATOR THAT HE HAS TOWED FEW VEHICLES WITH SIMILAR ISSUES.

UNDER HARD ACCELERATION THERE IS STRONG SMELL IN THE CABIN THAT SMELLS LIKE SULFUR IT HAS GOTTEN SO BAD THAT I HAVE TO DRIVE WITH MY WINDOWS OPEN AND I CARRY A CARBON MONOXIDE DETECTOR BECAUSE I'M WORRIED ABOUT THE FUMES BEING TOXIC. I DO A LOT OF HIGHWAY DRIVING SO MOST OF THE TIMES IT OCCURS ON THE HIGHWAY IT ALSO HAPPEN IN CITY DRIVING FROM FULL STOP.

WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT- VERY POOR LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS, IF ITS RAINING, IMPOSSIBLE TO SEE WHITE OR YELLOW DIVIDING LINE. VERY HAZARDOUS ON TWO LANE INTERSTATE HIGHWAY. FOUND MANY SIMILAR COMPLAINTS ON OTHER WEBSITES. NO PICTURE APPLICABLE. SUGGEST A ROAD TEST ON 2016 FORD EDGE AT NIGHT IN RAIN.

I had a engine warning light come on so I knew about the one recall for brake lines so I took my vehicle to a Ford dealership in Murfreesboro to fix the recall and to find out why the engine warning light came on, so they gave me a ride home. They asked me to leave my vehicle so these 2 things could be completed and checked out. 2 days had gone by and they finally call to tell me, my car was ready so I got a ride to the dealership to find out what was going on! One of the employees said recall was completed but he said my engine would need to be replaced, because coolant was coming through a cylinder and going into my engine and it would cost me $8,700.00 to fix!! Now mind you I have only had my car for 2 yrs! I’m disabled and need my car for my doctors appointments! I’m still paying on my car and I have to carry full coverage insurance because it’s financed!! So he told me I could mess my vehicle up further if I continue to drive it this way, so the vehicle is sitting in front of our house and I have not driven it since! My complaint # 1145819! I’m widowed so I have to rely on my children to take me where I need to go, which is a big inconvenience for us all! My sister had the same EXACT problem with her 2016 Escape and it was recalled, why not my 2016 Edge, it’s doing the EXACT same thing just different models! Please help me I’m paying on my auto which is financed and full coverage insurance on a vehicle that doesn’t run!! I need my vehicle very badly, can we trade vehicles? Or I’ll be happy if you can just fix the problem, they will have to tow it though because it’s not running now!! It has over 100,000 PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE HELP ME! I’m disabled, widowed, and on a fixed income so please have MERCY on me!!! I can’t deal with anymore disappointments!! Can you possibly make an exception, because of my predicament???
