THIS PROBLEM OCCURRED MORE THAN 3 TIMES. THE FIRST DATE WAS 11-12-2003. THE AIR BAG LIGHT CONTINUED TO STAY ON. THE CONSEQUENCE OF THIS IS THAT WE ARE NOT SURE WHEN THE BAG WILL DEPLOY OR NOT. DEALER TRACED AND FOUND OPEN CIRCUIT, CONNECTOR NOT SEATED. RESECURED AND SYSTEM PASSED. THIS WAS THE FIRST OCCURRENCE. THE VEHICLE WAS RETURNED TO THIS DEALERSHIP UP TO FOUR TIMES FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. *TR

CAR COMPLETELY SHUTS OFF WHILE DRIVING. THERE IS NO WARNING OR SYMPTOM THAT AN OCCURRENCE IS GOING TO HAPPEN. THIS SHUTDOWN OCCURS WHILE VEHICLE IS MOVING AND AT VARYING SPEEDS. THIS PROBLEM SEEMS TO BE ELECTRICAL IN NATURE AND PROBRABLY ASSOCIATED WITH SOME IGNITION COMPONET.*AK
LINKAGE CABLE FROM COLUMN SHIFTER BROKE, RENDERING VEHICLE NON DRIVABLE. SAME VEHICLE HAD CABLE UNJAMMED FROM COLUMN ASSEMBLY APPROXIMATELY ONE YEAR EARLIER. *LA
ENGINE UNEXPECTEDLY STALLED AND ENGINE LOST ALL POWERWHILE PULING INTO A DRIVEWAY. THIS WAS THE SECOND INCIDENT IN THE LAST 6 MONTHS INVOLVING THE FORD ESCAPE THAT IS MY COMPANY CAR. I BARELY MISSED BEING HIT BY ANOTHER CAR. THE FIRST TIME WAS ON THE FREEWAY AT 60 M.P.H. I CONSIDER MYSELF LUCK I WAS NOT KILLED OR INJURED.*AK
WHILE DRIVING AT 30 MPH CONSUMER HEARD A LOUD NOISE. VEHICLE ENGAGED IN NEUTRAL. DRIVER BEHIND HIM HELPED PUSH THE VEHICLE OUT OF THE ROAD. VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT SHOP WHERE THEY REPLACED THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION AT THE OWNERS EXPENSE OF $2400. THERE ARE TWO TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETINS CONTAINING INFORMATION ON HOW TO FIX THE TRANSMISSION. *AK *PH *NM
CONSUMER STATED WHILE DRIVING AND TRYING TO ACCELERATE VEHICLE HESITATED/OR PAUSED BEFORE IT RESPONDED. TOOK VEHICLE TO THE REPAIR SHOP TWICE FOR THE SAME PROBLEM, AND WAS TOLD THAT THE PROBLEM WAS THE THROTTLE BODY. *AK
WHILE DRIVING, AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE ENGINE STALLED. THE PROBLEM HAD BEEN OCCURRING FOR OVER 3 YEARS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP NUMEROUS TIMES BUT MECHANIC WOULD REPLACE DIFFERENT PARTS TO THE ENGINE AND ALSO HAD THE GASOLINE CHANGED. THE PROBLEM OF STALLING IS STILL NOT RESOLVED. *JB
ENGINE TURNED OFF WHILE DRIVING DOWN HILL (35-40) MILES. I LOST POWER STEERING AND BRAKES. LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO TURN INTO THE PARKING LOT AND STOPPED THE VEHICLE BY HITTING THE CURVE. IT HAD HAPPENED ONCE BEFORE ABOUT A YEAR AGO BUT I IGNORED THAT INCIDENT. *LA
UPON DRIVING DOWNHILL CAR DISENGAGED.LOST POWER STEERING AND BRAKES.ANUAL BRAKES AND STEERING ALSO FAILED.*AK
ENGINE SUDDENLY DIES WHILE DRIVING THAT ALREADY HAPPENED TWICE, AND BOTH TIMES AT ABOUT 35MPH IN TRAFFIC. *LA
2001 FORD ESCAPE 4CYL/STANDARD... 64,000 MILES PILOT BEARING IN THE CLUTCH WENT... UNABLE TO SHIFT GEARS... HAD TO HAVE COMPLETE CLUTCH REPLACED... *LA
WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE BEGAN TO STALL THEN SHUT OFF. DEALER NOTIFIED. *AK
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONSUMER STATED THAT SHE WENT TO THE NHTSA WEBSITE AND FOUND SEVERAL OTHER COMPLAINTS ON THIS ISSUE. *AK *NM
WHILE DRIVING AT 25 MPH VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A HEAD ON COLLISION. UPON IMPACT, AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. VEHICLE SUFFERED SEVERE DAMAGE.*AK
ROTORS HAD TO BE REPLACED AT 24,000 MILES ON MY 2001 FORD ESCAPE ON SEPTEMBER 25, 2003. I HAD THE VEHICLE IN FOR A MASTER CYLINDER PROBLEM IN DECEMBER OF 2002 AND THE DEALERSHIP SAID THEY COULD FIND ANY LEAKS AND JUST TOPPED THE FLUID AND SENT ME ON MY WAY. I HAD TO HAVE THE VEHICLE TOWED IN MARCH AND ON MARCH 7, 2003 THE DEALERSHIP FINALLY FOUND OUT I HAD A MASTER CYLINDER LEAK AND REPLACED IT UNDER WARRANTY. I BELIEVE THAT THE MASTER CYLINDER PROBLEM MAY HAVE CAUSED THE ROTOR PROBLEM (THE ROTORS WERE SO BAD THEY COULD NOT EVEN BE TURNED.) THE INDEPENDENT SHOP THAT REPLACED THE ROTORS ALSO SAID THE PADS WERE JUST ABOUT METAL TO METAL. I HAD NOT FORWARNING OF THIS PROBLEM. FORD WOULD NOT EVEN REFUND HAVE OF THE CHARGE FOR THE ROTOR PROBLEM OR EVEN LOOK AT THE OLD ROTORS WHICH WERE RETURNED TO ME THE THE SPECS MARKED ON THEM.
WE OWN A 2001 FORD ESCAPE WITH LESS THAN 42000 MILES ON IT. WE HAVE GOTTEN ALL OF THE REQUIRED OIL CHANGES AND SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE DONE ON IT. WE WENT THROUGH THE DEALER FOR ALL SERVICE WORK AND ALL BUT ONE OIL CHANGE. RECENTLY IT BEGAN SHAKING EVEN WHEN THE CAR WAS NOT IN MOTION. WE TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALER AGAIN AND THEY INFORMED US THAT THE ENGINE WAS BAD AND NEEDED REPLACED (COSTING $4000). THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN HAD ORIGINALLY TOLD US THAT THE ENGINE HAD GONE BAD BECAUSE WE HAD NOT CHANGED THE OIL OR HAD PUT THE WRONG OIL IN IT. THIS IS UNTRUE, WE HAVE MET THE REQUIREMENTS SET OUT BY FORD AND HAD PROOF. THEN, HE SAID THAT WE MUST HAVE GONE THROUGH HIGH WATER IN THE CAR BECAUSE THE AIR FILTER WAS YELLOWED. WE HAVE NEVER TAKEN THE CAR THROUGH HIGH WATER. WE WERE TOLD BY A DIFFERENT FORD MECHANIC THAT DUST AND POLLEN IN THE AIR CAN CAUSE THE YELLOWING. THEN THEY TOLD US THAT THE ENGINE COULD HAVE BECOME RUINED BECAUSE OF HEAVY RAIN. THE DEALER THAT WE HAVE BEEN WORKING WITH IS: RUSTY ECK FORD 7310 EAST KELLOGG WICHITA KS 67207 PHONE: 316.685.9211 FAX: 316.685.2890 THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A DEFECT IN THE MANUFACTURING OF THE ENGINE AND WE FEEL THAT FORD SHOULD REPLACE THE ENGINE. WE HAVE OWNED MORE THAN A DOZEN CARS (ONE HAVING OVER 180,000 ON IT) AND HAVE NEVER HAD AN ENGINE GO BAD ON US. WE HAVE OWNED 7 DIFFERENT FORD VEHICLES. WE HAVE DONE OUR PART IN TAKING CARE OF THE FORD ESCAPE, AND WE FEEL THAT IT IS RIDICULOUS TO HAVE TO PAY FOR THIS KIND OF REPAIR SO EARLY IN ITS LIFE. THE EXCUSES THAT WE HAVE BEEN GIVEN FOR THE ENGINE FAILURE ARE LUDICROUS. CERTAINLY, VEHICLES MUST BE ABLE TO WITHSTAND RAIN SHOWERS.
WHILE DRIVING AT 60 MPH CONSUMER WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT AND NEITHER OF THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. ALSO SEAT BELTS DID NOT HOLD THE PASSENGERS IN THE SEATS. *AK
LEAKING FRONT OIL SEAL AND OIL PAN GASKET WITH ONLY 60,000 MILES. *JB
MY WIFE'S ESCAPE HAS PAINT PEELING OFF THE HOOD. YOU ARE ABLE TO SEE STAGES OF PEEL FROM SMALL DARKEN CRACK MARKS TO EXPOSED PRIMER. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE IT WAS PURCHASED AND THEY SAID THAT SINCE THE WARRANTY EXPIRED THEY WILL ONLY PAY 70 % OF THE COST TO REPAIR IT. WHEN THE BODY SHOP MANAGER EVALUATED THE PROBLEM HE STATED THAT THE THE FINISH IS COMING OFF AND IT LOOKS LIKE IT MAY BE A FACTORY PROBLEM. I DO NOT THINK I SHOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR SOMETHING THAT IS OF NO FAULT OF OURS.
MY WIFE GOT DISTRACTED AND SIDE SWIPED THE TRAILER OF AN 18 WHEELER WHILE PASSING ......A VERY BAZAAR ACCIDENT......SHE WAS ONLY SLIGHTLY INJURED AND HER 2001 FORD ESCAPE WAS DESTROYED..... MY COMPLAINT IS......HER STEERING WAS COMPLETELY BROKE...NO CONNECTION BETWEEN THE STEERING WHEEL AND THE FRONT END.... HER STEERING WHEEL JUST SPINS AROUND .... BEING A CAR GUY I SEE THIS AS A FAILURE IN THE FORDS STEERING.....I WALKED THE ACCIDENT SCENE AND DID NOT SEE ONE THING SHE COULD HAVE HIT TO BREAK HER STEERING. HER IMPACT WITH THE TRUCK SHOULD NOT HAVE BROKE HER STEERING EITHER .....PLEASE INVESTIGATE. *JB
WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED AND WITHOUT WARNING THE ENGINE STALLED. THE CONSUMER PULLED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED. THE TRANSMISSION ALSO FAILED. IT WOULDN'T SHIFT PROPERLY FROM FIRST GEAR TO SECOND GEAR. *AK
DANGEROUS SITUATION REGARDING 2001 FORD ESCAPE.*MR THE CONSUMERS BRAKE FLUID SYSTEM WAS CONTAMINATED. THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED TO HAVE REPAIRS MADE. *CB THE CONSUMER NOTICED THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS CONTINUOUSLY GETTING LOWER TO THE FLOOR AND STOPPING BECAME INCREASINGLY DIFFICULT. THE VEHICLE ALSO HAD A POWER STEERING LEAK.*JB
THE RADIATOR FILL BOTTLE LOCATED TO THE RIGHT OF THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT, HAS A SENSOR THAT DETECTED WHEN THE LEVEL IS LOW IN IT. THERE IS A LIGHT THAT COMES ON ,WHEN IT IS LOW ACTIVATED IN THE DASH NEXT TO THE TACHOMETER. IT HAS TURNED ON FOR ABOUT 6 MONTHS AND WILL NOT TURN OFF, EVEN WHEN THE REFILL BOTTLE IS FILLED. THE DEALER SAYS YOU HAVE TO REPLACE THE BOTTLE AND IT HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES WITH THE ESCAPES. HE SUGGESTED I BUY A REPLACEMENT BOTTLE AT A COST OF ABOUT $62.00. THIS UNIT SHOULD NOT GO OUT AFTER ONLY ABOUT 50,000 MILES AND MISLEAD YOU TO THINK YOU ARE OUT OF FLUID. THERE NEEDS TO BE A RECALL ON THE BOTTLE TO HAVE THE DEALER FIX IT AT NO COST, SINCE IT HAS OCCURRED AT VIC BAILEY FORD A LOT OF TIMES ON THE NEW ESCAPES. *JB
PAINT PEELING OF THE HOOD OF WIFE'S 2001 FORD ESCAPE. BODY SHOP MANAGER OF WAYNE ACRES FORD IN WPB FL EVALUATED AND STATES " THE FINISH IS COMING OFF AND LOOKS LIKE IT MAY BE A FACTORY PROBLEM. " HE ALSO STATED THAT THE DEALER WILL ONLY PAY 70 % OF THE REPAIR COST SINCE THE VEHICLE WARRANTY HAS EXPIRED. WHY SHOULD I HAVE TO PAY ANYTHING IF THE DAMAGE IS NOT MY FAULT ?
2001 FORD ESCAPE XLTLICKING NOISE FROM FRONT WHEELS ON TURNING LEFT OR RIGHT. DEALER STATES THAT ROTORS ARE INCOMPATIBLE WITH THE ALUMINUM WHEELS WHICH WAS THE STANDARD EQUIPMENT ON THE XLT. DEALER STATES THAT IT'S NOT A SAFETY ISSUE SO FORD WILL NOT REPLACE ROTORS.*AK
VEHICLE HAD SMALL FIRE AND WAS TOWED BY FORD ROAD SIDE ASSISTANCE. THE SERVICE TECH AT DOBBS FORD IN MEMPHIS WAS TOLD OF THE FIRE. HE THEN TRIED TO START THE CAR AND THE CAR CAUGHT FIRE AGAIN AND IS NOW A TOTAL LOSS. THE VEHICLE INVOLVED WAS A 2001 FORD ESCAPE. *JB

I WAS DRIVING MY 2001 FORD ESCAPE DOING 40MPH DOWN AN INCLINE AND THE ENGINE SHUT OFF. LOST POWER STEERING AND BRAKES AND WOUND UP ON SOMEONE'S LAWN. SOMEONE COULD HAVE BEEN SERIOUSLY HURT. WHILE TRAVELING ON THE HIGHWAY AND WITHOUT PRIOR WARNING VEHICLE WILL STALL AND WILL NOT RESTART. *AK
DEAR NTSA: I HAVE RECENTLY SUBMITTED A SERVICE REPAIR WITH FORD MOTOR. MY PURCHASE OF A NEW 2001 FORD ESCAPE HAS BEEN MOST TROUBLESOME. I CONTACTED THE FORD HEADQUARTERS ABOUT THE ISSUE WITH I.A.C. VALE CAUSING SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER WHEN RELEASING ACCELERATION PEDAL. I NEVER GOT A SATISFACTORY SERVICE WITH THEIR REP. I MADE MORE THAN 3 PHONES CALL ABOUT THIS EVENT, AND FORD FELT SINCE IT IS OVER 36,000 MILE WARRANTY I AM THEN OBLIGATED TO PAY FOR OUT OF POCKET COST FOR A DEFECTIVE PRODUCT TO THE FORD DEALER SERVICE CENTER. THE FORD DEALER AT MY LOCATION DIAGNOSES AND DETERMINED A DEFECTIVE I.A.C. VALE THAT REQUIRE A REPLACEMENT. THE COST OF THE REPLACEMENT INCLUDING LABOR IS $275. I CANT BELIEVE MY SUV IS UNDER 2 YEARS OLD AND IS ALREADY DUE FOR A SERVICE REPAIR. SYMPTOM: DURING THE ACCELERATION AND PASSING OF ANOTHER VEHICLE, I NOTICED A SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER AS I MERGED INTO A SLOWER LANE AND RELEASES THE ACCELERATION PEDAL WHILE GENTLY APPLYING THE BRAKE. I COULD HAVE BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT SINCE A SUDDEN LOST POWER AS THE RPM DROPPED BELOW THE MINIMUM REQUIREMENT FOR IDLING AND BEGIN TO STALL. OTHER VEHICLES WERE FORCE TO BREAK. THE CAR IS NO LONGER OPERATIONAL AND BEING SERVICE AT FORD DEALER. I WILL HAVE TO PAY FOR THE DEFECTIVE PARTS AND LABOR TOTALING $275. I BELIEVED FORD DOESNT CARE FOR MY SITUATION AS LONG I MAKE ANOTHER FORD PURCHASE. THIS IS ISSUE AFFECTED MY VEHICLE AND MAY SOON AFFECT OTHER VEHICLE AS THEY MEET OR EXCEEDED CERTAIN MILEAGE. 2001 FORD EXCAPE 4X4 XLT. STALLS WHILE COASTING DOWNHILL. I HAVE TAKEN THIS TO THE DEALER (IN WARRANTY) TWICE TO HAVE THIS PROBLEM LOOKED AT. THE DEALER REPLACED VARIOUS ITEMS BUT HAS FAILED TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. WHEN THE ENGINE STOPS, NOT ONLY DOES THE STEERING WHEEL BECOME VERY DIFFICULT TO MANAGE, BUT THE BRAKES BECOME VERY HARD. I WAS BARELY ABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE FOR A VEHICLE THAT WAS TURNING IN FRONT OF ME SEVERAL HUNDRED YARDS AHEAD.
VEHICLE STALLED WHILE TRAVELING AT APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH ON COUNTY ROAD. STALL BECAME NOTICEABLE BECAUSE POWER STEERING AND BRAKES WERE AFFECTED, CHECK ENGINE AND OIL LIGHTS CAME ON. THIS IS THE THIRD TIME IN 2 YEARS THIS HAS OCCURRED.*AK
ON TWO DIFFERENT OCASSIONS, FORD ESCAPE STALLED WHILE DRIVING. ONCE WHILE GOING ABOUT 25 MPH DOWN HILL. THE OTHER TIME, WHILE PULLING INTO A PARKING LOT UNDER 10 MPH. CONSUMER REFUSED TO DRIVE THE CAR ANY MORE UNTIL A RESOLUTION IS FOUND. THE FORD DEALER HOOKED UP A COMPUTER BUT COULD NOT FIND ANY PROBLEM.*AK
DRIVING APPROX 40MPH THE 2001 FORD ESCAPE STALLED. LOST ALL POWER STEERING, AND BRAKES. FINALLY GOT STOPPED, RESTARTED VEHICLE AND EVERYTHING WORKED AGAIN.*AK
THE BRAKES IN MY CAR COMPLETELY FAILED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES, LUCKILY, BECAUSE I WAS ON RARELY USED DIRT ROADS. THE CAR WAS STILL UNDER WARARNTY, SO I RETURNED IT TO THE DEALER, WHO FIXED OR REPLACED A MAJOR HYDRAULIC COMPONENT OF THE BRAKE SYSTEM.
CONSUMER STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AND WITHOUT WARNING THE ENGINE IS NOT GIVING ENOUGH POWER. DEALER NOTIFIED. *AK
I OWN A 2001 FORD ESCAPE XLT WITH APPROXIMATELY 22,500 MILES. ON TWO OCCASIONS, THE ENGINE HAS STALLED WHILE I WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40MPH. *AK
CAR SHUT OFF WHILE MOVING AT 35-40 MPH WITH NO WARNING. LOSS OF POWER STEERING AND BRAKES. WINNER FORD SAID I NEEDED NEW COMPUTER - TOOK 2 WEEKS TO REPAIR. FOUND OUT LATER THEY ONLY REPROGRAMMED COMPUTER. CAR HAD ALSO SHUT ITSELF OFF OCTOBER OF 2002, IN FOR REPAIRS, ONE WEEK LATER, SHUT ITSELF OFF AGAIN, ANOTHER PROBLEM. ESCAPE IS NOT RELIABLE. I HAVE HAD INTERMITTENT INSTALLING SINCE 2003. RECALL 04S13 WAS FOR THE POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE. TOOK MY VEHICLE IN FOR THE RECALL AND STILL TODAY 12/6/07, I AM HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. MY CAR WILL STALL IN PARKING LOTS, DRIVE THRU'S, AT TRAFFIC LIGHTS, AND IN TRAFFIC WHEN COASTING. WHEN I AM FINALLY INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT, I WILL BE SUING FORD FOR FAILURE TO MEET MY NEEDS WITH THIS COMPLAINT. THE DEALERS SAY I HAVE TO BRING IT IN WHEN IT HAPPENS. I CAN'T MAKE IT HAPPEN AND IT DOESN'T HAPPEN CONSISTENT TO MEET THIS "REQUIREMENT." I WILL NOT BUY ANOTHER FORD AS A RESULT OF THEIR LACK OF CONCERN FOR MY SAFETY OR LACK OF CONCERN THAT THEIR PRODUCT IS A GOOD PRODUCT. *TR
ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS, WHILE DRIVING ALONG AT APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, OUR FORD ESCAPE SUDDENLY LOST ALL POWER AND STALLED. THIS RESULTED IN LOSS OF POWER STEERING AND POWER BRAKES. THE FORD ESCAPE COULD NOT BE RESTARTED UNTIL IT WAS STOPPED AND PLACED IN PARK. WE HAVE TAKEN TO HILL & SANDERS FORD LOCATED IN WHEATON, MD. IN ADDITION TO OTHER SERVICE RELATED PROBLEMS WITH THE STAFF OF HILL & SANDERS, WE WERE TOLD DIFFERENT STORIES BY DIFFERENT PEOPLE. ONE STORY WAS THAT OUR KEY RING WAS TOO HEAVY (4 KEYS 1 REMOTE). THE NEXT WAS THAT THERE WAS A COMPUTER REPROGRAMMING THAT WOULD RESOLVE THIS PROBLEM (ALONG WITH A DEVELOPING/OCCASIONAL TRANSMISSION SHIVER/SHUDDER BETWEEN 35-45 MPH). THE COMPUTER REPROGRAMMING WAS COMPLETED 4 DAYS AGO. SINCE THAT TIME, THE CAR HAS NOT STALLED IN A SIMILAR MANNER, BUT CONTINUES TO HAVE AN OCCASIONAL TRANSMISSION SHIVER / SHUDDER. BASED ON THE FAILURE OF THE REPROGRAMMING TO FIX THE TRANSMISSION SHIVER / SHUDDER, WE ANTICIPATE THAT THE FORD ESCAPE WILL CONTINUE TO STALL. *NLM
THERE WERE PROBLEMS WITH THE VEHICLE SHUTTING DOWN WHILE IN TRAFFIC. THE IDLE GAUGE KEPT DROPPING AND GOING UP UNTIL IT EVENTUALLY DROPPED BELOW 1, THEN IT CUT OUT IMMEDIATELY . THE CONSUMER HAD TAKEN THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER AND ATTEMPTED TO FIX THE PROBLEM ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS BUT WERE UNABLE TO VERIFY. THE DEALER SAID THERE WAS WATER CONTAMINATION IN THE GAS TANK, AND THE CONSUMER WAS TOLD THAT A RAT HAD BITTEN THROUGH THE WIRES. THE CONSUMER HAD TAKEN THE VEHICLE BACK IN FOR THE STALLING PROBLEMS AND GAS FUMES WERE COMING THROUGH THE A/C VENTS. LATER ON THAT DAY THE VEHICLE CAUGHT FIRE. THE CONSUMER REQUESTED A REFUND AND OR EXCHANGE FOR A NEW VEHICLE. *MR *TS *SCC *JB
