ONGOING PROBLEM WITH ENGINE STALLING WHILE TRAVELING 30 OR MORE MPH. VEHICLE BEEN IN DEALER SHOP ON THREE OCCASIONS, DEALER TESTED FOR POSSIBLE FUEL CONCERN AND REPLACED POWER RELAY BUT DID NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM. *AK AUX POWER POINT INOPERABLE DUE TO BLOWN FUSE.
WHILE ACCELERATING VEHICLE STALLED AT 15 MPH. DEALER REPLACED IAC VALVE WHICH WAS STICKING.
TRAVELING AT APPROXIMATELY 35MPH -CAR DID NOT SHUT OFF, BUT LOST STEERING AND BRAKES. FROM TIME TO TIME TIME THERE IS A GAS ODOR COMING FROM AIR VENTS. ALSO, IN THE MORNING VEHICLE HESITATES WHEN PULLING OUT FROM A STOP SIGN. CAR WAS TOWED TO LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP AND THEY WERE UNABLE TO DETERMINE PROBLEM. *AK
CONSUMER WAS UNABLE TO SHIFT FROM DRIVE TO PARK, DEALER REPLACED A BROKEN CABLE. DEALER DID NOT EXPLAIN REPAIRS. *AK
ABS SYSTEM WILL INTERMITTENTLY WORK. BUT, USUALLY CONSUMER HAS TO PRESS BRAKES PEDAL ALL THE WAY IN BEFORE VEHICLE WILL STOP. CONTACTED DEALER. *AK
THE BRAKES MAKE SQUEAKING NOISE ALL THE TIME. IT GETS LOUDER WHEN APPLYING YOUR FOOT ON THE BRAKES. BRAKE POWDER BLACKENS THE RIMS OF THE TIRES. SERVICE DEPARTMENT STATES THIS IS COMPLETELY NORMAL.*AK
WHILE DRIVING, VEHICLE STALLED, WHICH WAS THEN TOWED TO DEALERSHP, CONSUMER WAS THEN INFORMED THAT THE PROBLEM COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED.*YD
WHILE ACCELERATING TO 65 MPH, VEHICLE WILL STALL UNEXPECTEDLY IN TRAFFIC. DEALERSHIP HAS BEEN IN POSSESSION OF VEHICLE FOR TWO WEEKS, DEALER PERFORMED EXTENSIVE ROAD TESTING AND WAS ONLY ABLE TO VERIFY STALLING CONCERN ONCE, STILL UNABLE TO DETERMINE CAUSE OF PROBLEM, DEALER OFFERED TRADE-IN, BUT CONSUMER REFUSED OFFER.*AK *TT
WHILE DRIVING 30-35 MPH, VEHICLE WILL SHUT OFF WITHOUT ANY NOTICE. CONTACTED DEALER, WHO WAS NOT WILLING TO DO ANYTHING.*AK. NUMEROUS PARTS HAVE BEEN REPLACED REGARDING THE STALLING, BUT THE PROBLEM STILL EXISTS, THE ENGINE LIGHT ALSO ILLUMINATED, CONSUMER STATED THE TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED IN APRIL 2002, THE ENGINE COOLING FANS WERE REPLACED, AND ALSO THE RACK AND PINION WAS REPLACED.*JB
THE FRONT AXLE AND CV JOINTS COMPLETELY FELL OFF. THERE WAS NO EVIDENCE OF THE SAFTEY CONNECTOR BOLT BEING INSTALLED AT FACTORY. I HAVE PHOTOS. MIGHT BE CALLED A LOWER BALL JOINT.*AK
ENGINE SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING DOWN A HILL WITHOUT PRIOR WARNING.LOSS OF POWER STEERING AND POWER BRAKES.PULLED OVER AND SHUT CAR OFF.WHEN I RESTARTED IT IT SEEMED TO WORK OK.TOOK IT TO THE GARAGE AND THEY SAID IT WAS RUNNING VERY HOT.CALLED FORD AND THEY MADE SUGGESTIONS ON A FIX.THEY ENDED UP REPLACING THE ERG VALVE.I HAVE DRIVEN IT FOR TWO DAYS AND IT HASN'T HAPPENED AGAIN.......YET.VERY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE WITH NO STEERING OR BRAKES.SOMEONE IS GOING TO END UP HURT BADLY OR KILLED.*AK
VEHICLE ACCELERATES/SURGES, WITHOUT WARNING WHEN IN REVERSE OR AUTOMATIC LST GEAR. THIS HAPPENS SPORADICTLY, MAYBE ONCE EVERY 2-3 WEEKS, WITHOUT WARNING. I TOOK IT TO A LOCAL FORD DEALER AND NOTHING SHOWED UP ON THEIR COMPUTOR. THEIR MECHANIC WENT ON THE FORD HOTLINE AND FOUND THAT THE PROBLEM WAS LISTED, AND A POSSIBLE FIX SUGGESTED. THE MECHANIC REHOOKED THE VEHICLE BACK UP TO THE COMPUTER AND FOUND THAT THE FIX HAD ALREADY BEEN INSTALLED ON THE TRUCK, AND OBVIOUSLY WAS NOT WORKING. AN APPOLOGETIC SERVICE REP. HANDED ME THE KEYS AND I DROVE HOME IN MY DEFECTIVE TRUCK. THIS PROBLEM IS ALSO LISTING BY OTHER OWNERS ON FORD ESCAPE OWNER WEBSITES.*AK
ENGINE CHECK LIGHT INDICATED THAT THAT EGR SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE DEALER REPLACED THIS SENSOR AND THE EGR PRESSURE VALVE. THE DEALER CLAIMED THAT FORD KNEW THAT THIS WAS A PROBLEM AFTER PRODUCTION, SO THEY PRODUCED A NEW SENSOR. AT THE MINIMUM, A TSB SHOULD HAVE BEEN ISSUED.*AK
DRIVER'S RESTRAINT BELT BUCKLE ASSEMBLY, FEMALE PART, FAILS TO LOCK PROPERLY, PREVENTING USE OF SEAT BELT. DEALERSHIP IS REPAIRING PROBLEM. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY ADDITIONAL INFORMATION/ATTACHMENTS.*AK
VEHICLE EXPERIENCES INTERMITTENT ENGINE QUIT CONDITION (STALLS) WITHOUT WARNING. VEHICLE RESTARTS IMMEDIATELY AFTER EACH INCIDENT. FOUR SUCH INSTANCES HAVE OCCURRED SINCE THE CAR WAS PURCHASED 7 MONTHS AGO. VEHICLE TAKEN TO FORD AFTER EACH OCCURRENCE. FORD STILL UNABLE TO FIX. PROBLEM APPEARS WIDESPREAD AS FORD HAS INTERNALLY ISSUED A MESSAGE ON ITS INTERNAL SITE DESCRIBING THE PROBLEM AND RECOMMENDING A SOLUTION TO SERVICE DEPARTMENTS. THIS SITE (OASIS) IS NOT OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. QUOTE FROM SITE AS FOLLOWS: "SOME 2001/2002 3.0L ESCAPES MAY EXHIBIT AN INTERMITTENT ENGINE QUIT CONDITION. THIS WILL BE TYPICALLY A 1 TIME EVENT, USUALLY DURING A DECEL, WITH NO DTC'S AND NO MIL. THE ENGINE WILL RESTART IMMEDIATELY." THE SITE THEN RECOMMENDS HOW TO FIX. THE FIX WAS TRIED TO NO AVAIL BY LITHIA FORD SERVICE DEPARTMENT. IN SUMMARY, FORD IS AWARE THAT A SIGNIFICANT LIFE THREATENING DEFECT EXISTS. THEY ALSO DO NOT KNOW HOW TO FIX IT, YET THEY KEEP RELEASING THE VEHICLES BACK TO OWNERS SAYING THEY ARE OK TO DRIVE.
WHILE DRIVING 35-40 MPH ON LEVEL ROAD, ENGINE SHUTDOWN; POWER STEERING LOST, POWER ASSIST BRAKING LOST; 3 OCCURRENCES SAME SIITUATION, SAME ROAD & APPROXIATE LOCATION AND TIME OF DAY; THIS IS THE SECOND VEHICLE TO WHICH THIS HAS HAPPENED; DEALER HAS VEHICLE. *AK
WHILE TRAVELING ON HIGHWAY, VEHICLE WILL SHUTDOWN. *AK VEHICLE HESITATES ON A COLD START, WHEN ACCELERATING YOU GET APPROX. 30 PERCENT ACCELERATION POWER AND THEN IT SURGES TO FULL ACCELERATION. AFTER THE ENGINE WARMS UP IT RUNS WELL. *JG
WHILE DRIVING AT 50 MPH CONSUMER WAS INVOLVED IN A T-BONE IN WHICH NEITHER DRIVER'S SIDE NOR PASSENGER'S SIDE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. ALSO, THERE WAS MAJOR FRONT END DAMAGE TO VEHICLE. *AK *SLC
THE VEHICLE HAS STALLED THREE TIMES WHILE DRIVING, ON ALL THREE OCCASIONS THE DRIVER WAS ON A SLIGHT DOWN-GRADE, CAOSTING AND APPLYING THE BRAKE TO HANDLE A CURVE, THE DEALER HAS BEEN UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. *YH
CAR SEATS BROKE ON IMPACT - REMAINED IN RECLINED POSITION RENDERING THE CAR IMPOSSIBLE TO DRIVE. HEAD, NECK, AND BACK INJURIES BY 2 PASSENGERS. ONE PASSENGER FACTURED C1 VERTIBRA. SEATS WERE SO FLATTENED THAT SIGNIFICANT INJURIES WOULD OF BEEN SUSTAINED BY ANYONE IN THE BACK SEATS. STILL WAITING TO HEAR FROM FORD MOTOR COMPANY. COMPLAINT FILED 6/28/01.
ON A 4- LANE HIGHWAY GOING 20-25MPH, CONSUMER LET UP OFF ACCELERATOR AND VEHICLE TOOK OFF. CONSUMER SLAMMED ON BRAKES ,AND VEHICLE WAS BACK TO NORMAL. CONSUMER HAS A UP COMNG APPOINTMENT AT DEALER TO BE LOOKED AT VEHICLE. *AK
6 MOS OLD VEH; 4700 MILES; ENGINE HAS STALLED ON 3 SEPARATE OCCASIONS (MID-JUN, MID-JUL, EARLY SEP) WHILE TRAVELING AT 45 MPH; ORIGINAL DEALER COULD PROVIDE NO SOLUTION; CURRENTLY BEING EVALUATED AT 2ND LOCAL DEALER; SEEKING GUARANTEED RESOLUTION; REPLACEMENT VEHICLE OR REFUND. *AK
WHILE DRIVING, ENGINE STALLED AND OIL LIGHT ILLUMINATED, CONSUMER CHECKED OIL LEVEL AND IT WAS AT THE NORMAL LEVEL. *SLC
OUR CAR SPORADICALLY STALLS WHEN COASTING TO A STOP, CHANGING GEARS FROM DRIVE TO REVERSE, AND WHEN GOING OVER ANY SMALL BUMP IN THE ROAD. WE'VE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER FOR REPAIR BUT THEY CLAIM THAT THEY'RE NOT ABLE TO REPLICATE THE PROBLEM. IT'S BEEN TO THE DEALER TWICE NOW AND THE STALLING HAS OCCURRED MORE THAN 15 TIMES IN A SPAN OF A MONTH. THE STALLING CAUSES ALL POWERED SYSTEMS TO FAIL (IE. BRAKES, STEERING).*AK
VEHICLE STALLED FOR THE 2ND TIME -- SAME LOCATION -- ABOUT 7 MILES FROM MY HOUSE, GOING ABOUT 30-35 MILES AN HOUR UP A SLIGHT INCLINE. NO STEERING, NO BRAKES, HAVE TO USE EMERGENCY BRAKE -- CAN'T BELIEVE I HAVEN'T BEEN REAR-ENDED OR WORSE -- THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS. *AK
VEHICLE LOST ALL POWER COMPLETLY. WAS TOWED TO DEALER. DEALER REPAIRED SHORT IN WIRING HARNESS. REPAIRED/ RELOCATED HARNESS AND REPLACED NECCESSARY FUSES. TESTED EECPC-1000. REPAIR WAS MADE UNDER WARRANTY. *AK *SLC
HAD SEVERE VIBRATION OF STEERING WHEEL AT SPEEDS OF 75 MPH OR GREATER. DEALER SAID IT WAS THE AFTER MARKET RIMS INSTALLED ON THE VEHICLE. WHEN DEALER INSTALLED THE STOCK RIMS AND TOOK IT OUT AND TESTED IT, THE VIBRATION WAS STILL THERE WHEN HE ACHIEVED A SPEED OF 75 MPH OR BETTER. DEALER RE-BALANCED THE WHEELS AND PROBLEM STILL OCCURED. DEAR CHECKED THE ALIGNMENT AND SAID IT WAS OUT OF ALIGNMENT AND PROBABLY CAME THAT WAY FROM THE MANUFACTURER. AFTER FRONT END ALIGNED NO MORE PROBLEMS. AS FOR PROB#2 , I NOTICED SOME PINK FLUID LEAKING FROM UNDER THE VEHICLE. TOOK TO DEALER AND HAD THEM PUT IT ON A RACK TO INSPECT IT. THEY FOUND THAT THE POWER STEERING FLUID IS LEAKING AT THE LEFT SIDE OF BOOT. THEY HAVE TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE RACK & PINION UNIT. ARE THERE ANY OTHER ESCAPES OUT THERE WITH LESS THAN 10,000 MILES HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM? ALSO WHEN DEALER RECEIVED THE RACK & PINION UNIT FOR MY VEHICLE THEY NOTICED THAT IT WAS NOT THE SAME UNIT THAT IS ON MY VEHICLE. DEALER SAID THEY CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER OF THIS RANK & PINION UNIT IN INDIANA AND THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THEY CHANGED THE RANCK & PINION STEERING UNIT. THE DEALER WAS UNAWARE OF THIS CHANGE BECAUSSE NO NOTIFICATION WAS EVER SENT. IF I HAD NOT NOTICED THIS THE STEERING FLUID COULD HAVE LEAKED OUT AND I COULD HAVE HAD A SERIOUS PROBLEM WITH THE STEERING WHILE VECHICLE WAS IN MOTION. THE VEHICLE WAS SERVICED BY THE DEALER TO CHECK FLUIDS AT THE SAME TIME I WAS HAVING THE VIBRATION PROBLEM. I NOTIFIED FORD CUST. SERVICE AND THEY COULD NOT TELL ME IF THRE WERE ANY OTHER ESCAPES HAVING THE SAME 2 PROBLEMS. THEY SAID THE DEALER WOULD KNOW... FORD'S CUST. SERVICE WILL NOT LET YOU SPEAK TO ANYONE UP THE LADDER AT FORD. THEY JUST TAKE THE COMPLAINT OR CONCERN AND THAT'S IT. WHAT THEY DO WITH THOSE COMPLAINT'S OR CONCERNS IS BEYOND ME. FORD CAN'T TELL ME WHY THIS STEERING UNIT HAS TO BE REPLACED ON A NEW CAR NOR ARE THEY SYMPATHETIC.*AK
WHILE DRIVING AT ABOUT 35-40 MPH, THE ENGINE JUST QUITS. ONCE I COME TO A ROLLING STOP, I HAVE TO TURN THE CAR OFF AND RESTART IT. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED.*AK

TIRE THUMPING WAS NOTICED AFTER 6K MILE SERVICING. DEALERSHIP ACKNOWLEDGED THUMPING AND HAS ORDERED TIRE REPLACEMENT. SURFACE DEFECT NOTICED ON TREAD. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INVOLVED IN ANY ACCIDENT OR DRIVEN IN ABNORMAL OR ON ROUGH ROAD SURFACES. NO OTHER COMPLAINTS ON THESE TIRES. DEALERSHIP MENTIONED THEY WILL REBALANCE REMAINING 3 TIRES WHEN REPLACEMENT TIRE ARRIVES FOR VEHICLE. AS OF THIS WRITING, FAULTY TIRE IS ON LEFT (DRIVERSIDE) REAR. PREMATURE TRANSMISSION FLUID FAILURE CAUSING A SHUDDDER IN THE TRANSMISSION AS THE GEARS SHIFT FROM 3RD TO OVERDRIVE.*AK
MY ESCAPE HAS STALLED (3 TIMES) WHILE DRIVING DOWN A SLIGHT DOWNHILL GRADE IN THE ROAD GOING ABOUT 40 MPH. I HAVE TAKEN THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP TWICE. FIRST TIME THEY TOLD ME THAT THE IDLE CONTROL VALUE WAS CORRODED AND REPLACED IT. THE SECOND TIME THEY TOLD ME THEY COULD NOT FIND A PROBLEM. THIS IS A VERY FRIGHTENING EXPERIENCE TO HAVE YOUR CAR QUIT ON YOU IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC AND I FEEL VERY STRONGLY THAT IT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED SINCE IT IS HAPPENING TO OTHER PEOPLE. *JB
NAR 05/28/2003 *MR THE CONSUMER MADE SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO FIX INOPERABLE AIR BAG ASSEMBLY. SEAT BELT RESTRAINT SYSTEM REPLACED. DEALER NOTIFIED. *CB
THE ENGINE DIED TWICE WHILE BEING DRIVEN RESULTING IN LOSS OF POWER TO THE STEERING AND BRAKES. IN BOTH CASES, THE VEHICLE WAS GOING DOWN A SLIGHT GRADE AT 30-35 MPH, MY FOOT WAS OFF THE ACCELERATOR. THERE WAS NO ADVANCED INDICATION THAT THERE WAS AN IGNITION PROBLEM. FOLLOWING THE FIRST INCIDENT (5,400 MILES) THE DEALER CHECKED IT OUR AND SAID THERE WERE NO CODES INDICATING ANY FAULTS. THE SECOND TIME (12,350 MILES) THE SAME DEALER CALLED THE FORD HOTLINE AND WAS ADVISED TO REPLACE THE IAC VALVE AND PCV HOSE. THUS FAR, THE VEHICLE HAS NOT FAILED BUT I DO NOT HAVE COMPLETE CONFIDENCE IN THE REPAIRS. IN BOTH CASES, I CALLED THE FORD CUSTOMER HOTLINE AND LODGED A COMPLAINT. THIS IS VERY SERIOUS AND COULD RESULT IN DEATH OR INJURIES. I HAVE HEARD OF OTHER ESCAPE DRIVERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM.*AK
LEFT REAR PASSENGER RESTRAINT WAS JAMMED AFTER THE FIRST USE. THIS PART WAS REPLACED AND IT WAS JAMMED AFTER THE FIRST USE. IT WAS REPLACED A SECOND TIME AND IS CURRENTLY FUCTIONAL BUT THIS IS THE FIRST TIME IN 4 MONTHS SINCE PURCHASE DATE THAT IT HAS BEEN FUNCTIONAL. REAR DIFFERENTIAL HAD A BROKEN SEAL AND WAS LEAKING. THIS PART WAS REPLACED AND IS NOW FUNCTIONAL. THE MASTER CYLINDER WAS CRACKED AND REPLACED. THIS PART IS NOW FUNCTIONAL. THE POWER STEERING WAS EFFECTED WHEN PART OF THE POWER STEERING SYSTEM FELL OUT OF THE CAR WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS PUT IN PARK. THE PARTS (INCLUDING ALTERNATOR, BELTS AND SPRING) LITERALLY FELL OFF THE CAR. THIS COULD HAVE RESULTED IN MANY FATALITIES AS THE VEHICLE WAS ON THE HIGHWAY ONLY MINUTES PRIOR WITH A CAR FULL OF PASSANGERS. THE RESULTS OF THIS INCIDENT WOULD HAVE BEEN DRASTICALLY DIFFERENT IF THIS HAD HAPPENED WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION. FORD HAS NOT BEEN RESPONSIVE TO MY NEEDS AS A CONSUMER AND HAS MINIMIZED THE SAFETY HAZARD POSED BY THIS DEFECTIVE VEHICLE.

WITHOUT WARNING THE ENGINE STALLS GOING ABOUT 35 MPH. ALL STEERING AND BRAKING BECAME IMPOSSIBLE. AFTER CAR WAS PULLED TO SIDE OF THE ROAD, AN ATTEMPT TO START WAS MADE AND IT SEEMED NORMAL. THIS HAPPENED AT ABOUT 450 MILES AFTER PURCHASE. CAR TAKEN TO DEALER WHO WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE PROBLEM AND HAD NO ADDITIONAL INFORMATION. THE SECOND OCCURRENCE HAS JUST HAPPENED AT ABOUT 11500 MILES (ABOUT 11 MONTHS OLD). THE CIRCUMSTANCES WERE THE SAME - 35MPH, ALL STERRING AND BRAKING IMPOSSIBLE. THE CAR WAS ABLE TO BE RESTARTED AFTER A FEW MINUTES. DEALER HAS BEEN NOTIFIED AGAIN AND SERVICE IS SCHEDULED. BOTH OCCURRENCES HAVE NO WARNINGS PRIOR TO THE ENGINE STALL. THE SITUATION IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. *AK
CAR JUMPS SUDDENLY FORWARD/BACKWARD WHEN EASING INTO FIRST GEAR OR REVERSE. HAD TWO NEAR ACCIDENTS, 1ST- FLEW BACKWARDS JUST MISSING A TREE, 2ND FLEW BACKWARD IN PARKING LOT NEARLY HITTING A CAR AND PEDESTRIAN. THIS PROBLEM IS ALSO POSTED BY OTHER ESCAPE OWNERS AT A "ESCAPE" OWNER INTERNET SITE, SO IT IS NOT AN ISOLATED INCIDENT. *AK
TIRES MAKE A HUMMING NOISE. CONSUMER FEELS THAT THEY MAY BE LEAVING GROUND LIKE HYDROPLANING, AND AT 65 MPH VEHICLE WOBBLES, VEHICLE IS NOT STABLE AT HIGH SPEEDS WITH WINDOW DOWN. *AK THE VEHICLE HESITATES WHEN A/C UNIT IS IN OPERATION AND A/C MAKE A LOUD CYCLIC CLICKING SOUND. TRANSMISSION MAKES SOUND. THE VEHICLE WAS UNSTABLE AT 65 MPH WITH A SLIGHT WIND AND FRONT END MAKES TUMBLING SOUNDS ON ROUGH ROADS. THE ALTERNATOR LIGHT COMES ON INTERMITTENTLY. THE CRUISE CONTROL TURNS OFF AUTOMATICALY BY ITSELF. THE FRONT BRAKE HAS EXCESSIVE DUST. THE VEHICLE HAD NUMEROUS INTERIOR SYSTEM FAILURES AND MALFUNCTIONING. *YH
TIRE ON FRONT DRIVERS SIDE REPLACED. TIRE SPLITTING PASSENAGER REAR TIRE, THIS TIRE HAS NOT BEEN REPLACED.
THE AIR CONDITIONER FROM THE VERY BEGINNING HAS A VERY FOUL SMELL OF MILDEW AND MOLD. IF YOU USE THE AC FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME THE SMELL IS WORST THEN EVER. BOTH MY SON AND I ARE ALLERGIC TO MOLD AND MILDEW AND WHEN I TURN ON THE AC, WE BOTH BEGIN TO SNEEZE, COUGH, RUNNY NOSE AND EYES. I CANNOT NOT USE THE AC. I HAVE BROUGHT THE TRUCK BACK 3 TIMES FOR A TOTAL OF 12 DAYS AND NOW HAVE IT IN THE SHOP AGAIN. THERE IS ALSO A CONSTANT RATTLE ON THE DRIVERS DOOR SIDE AND THE REAR TAILGATE DOOR/WINDOW. THESE PROBLEMS WERE REPORTED ON THE FIRST VISIT ALSO. EACH TIME I WAS TOLD THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN TAKEN CARE OF, I DRIVE OFF AND THE PROBLEMS ARE STILL VERY EVIDENT. THE THIRD TIME AS I WAS PULLING OUT OF THERE DRIVEWAY AFTER HAVING JUST BEEN TOLD THE PROBLEMS WERE SOLVED. THESE HAVE BEEN AN ONGOING PROBLEMS. MY CONCERN IS I HAVE BEEN BACK FOUR TIMES IN LESS THE 5 MONTHS FOR PROBLEMS, WHAT HAPPENS WHEN THE TRUCK IS A YEAR OLD!!!!!!*AK
VEHICLE TENDS TO STALL WHILE CRUISING DOWNHILL WITH ENGINE IDLING. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN SERVICED FOR SAME PROBLEM THREE TIMES BUT THE PROBLEM CONTINUES TO OCCUR RESULTING IN A DANGEROUS SITUATION INVOLVING LOSS OF POWER STEERING AND POWER BRAKING, CONSUMER FEELS THE PROBLEM IS WITH THE IGNITION. *YH
SAFETY RESTRAINT SYSTEMS,; PASSENGER'S SIDE AIR BAG COVER WILL POP OFF, AND OVER A PERIOD OF TIME, AIR BAG WILL START SEEPING OUT. THIS HAS BEEN REPLACED BY DEALERSHIP THREE TIMES. ALSO DRIVER'S SIDE SEAT BELT BUCKLE WILL NOT REMAIN (FEMALE PIECE) LATCHED. THIS HAS BEEN REPLACED BY DEALERSHIP TWICE. *AK *YH

FUEL LINE HAD BROKE, CAUSIN MOTOR TO BE SPRYED WITH FUEL.*AK CONSUMER STATES MOTOR LOST POWER, FUEL WAS PUMPING OVER HOT ENGINE, ENGINE DID NOT STALL, BUT KEPT PUMPING FUEL. *JB
DRIVING DOWN A BUSY STREET, DOWN A SLIGHT GRADE ABOUT 45 MPH, THE CAR SUDDENTLY DIED. I HAD TO PULL OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I WAITED A COUPLE OF MINUTES AND IT RESTARTED. THERE WAS NO INDICATION OF ANY PROBLEM PRIOR TO THIS.*AK
ENGINE SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING DOWN A HILL HAS HAPPENED TO ME FOUR TIMES THIS WEEK. CAUSES LOSS OF POWER-ASSISTED BRAKES AND STEERING. VEHICLE PUT IN DEALER SHOP ON 4/6/2001. NO REPAIRS MADE BECAUSE DEALER COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM IN THE SHOP.
