TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD ESCAPE. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V471000 (POWER TRAIN). THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS UNABLE TO SHIFT OUT OF PARK INTO ANY OTHER GEAR, WHICH LEFT THE CONTACT STRANDED FOR HOURS. A LOANER VEHICLE WAS PROVIDED BY MCGRATH FORD (4001 1ST AVE SE, CEDAR RAPIDS, IA 52402, (319) 366-4000, 319-364-0181) AS OF AUGUST 27, 2018. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE PARTS WERE UNAVAILABLE FOR THE REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE AND HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. 2013 FORD ESCAPE. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARD TO MALFUNCTION WITH VEHICLES TRANSMISSION. *AS THE CONSUMER STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND WAS ADVISED THE WARRANTY HAD EXPIRED. *JS
RECALL 14V495000 SAYS IT ALL. LOST OF POWER WITH NO WARNING WHEN PULLING INTO A STREET OR JUST OUT OF THE BLUE. ONCE PULLING ON TO A HIGHWAY, ONCE IN A PARKING LOT. YOU NEVER KNOW WHEN OR WHERE WHEN YOU LOSE POWER. IT START BACK UP WITH NO PROBLEM.
ENGINE COOLANT LEAKS. PLUS A CYLINDER STOPPED FIRING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. REPLACING THE SPARK PLUG AND COIL. PART OF THE SPARK PLUG BROKE LEADING TO THE HEADER NEEDING TO BE REMOVED NOW.
131,000 MILES TRANSMISSION STARTED SLIPPING AND AS OF 7/15/2018 TRANSMISSION IS GONE THIS SEEMS TO BE VERY COMMON WITH THE 1.6 LITER ENGINE I HAD TAKEN IT IN WHEN IT STARTED TO SLIP AND FORD DEALER SHIP STARTED THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT UNTIL WARRANTY WAS UP AND TRANSMISSION IS COMPLETELY OUT NOW I'M STUCK WITH A LOAN AND A VEHICLE I CANNOT DRIVE VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH FORD I WISH I WOULD HAVE KNOWN THEY CHANGED THE MOTOR AND TRANNY 3 TIMES IN 2013 VERY DISSATISFIED SHOULD BE A RECALL ON THESE TRANSMISSIONS
WHEN I FIRST PURCHASED THE ESCAPE THE TRUNK HANDLE FELL OFF INTO MY HAND, IT WAS REPLACED. THE PASSENGER DOOR OPENER HANDLE APPARENTLY IS WRAPPEND IN SILVER PLASTIC, THAT CUT A PASSENGER, I HAVE SPENT YEARS ASKING THEM TO REPLACE IT, THEY FINALLY DID LAST MONTH, OF COURSE NOW OUT OF WARRANTY SO I HAD TO PAY FOR IT. I HAVE HAD A RECURRING ISSUE WITH MY REAR PASSENGER DOOR INTERIOR PANEL SEPARATING FROM THE METAL EXTERIOR PANEL, RENDERING THE DOOR USELESS. MY 7 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER CANNOT GET INTO OR OUT OF THE VEHICLE ON HER SIDE. THE CLIPS HAVE BEEN REPLACED 3 TIMES AT THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY ARE SUGGESTING REPLACING THE INTERIOR BECAUSE IT IS "WARPED" HOW DOES A GARAGED VEHICLE'S INTERIOR BECOME "WARPED" TO AN EXTENT WHERE THE CLIPS CANNOT HOLD THE PART IN PLACE AND REPEATEDLY SNAP? THE CLIPS ARE PLASTIC AND SIMILAR TO THE INTERIOR OF THIS MODEL PLASTIC IS WEARABLE, AND FORD SHOULD BE REPLACING THIS ITEM, NOT ME. I HAD A 2001 EXPLORER FOR 14 YEARS THAT I NEVER HAD ISSUES WITH, PRIMARILY BECAUSE IT WASN'T CONSTRUCTED WITH PLASTIC.THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFTEY ISSUE AND MY CHILD SHOULD NOT BE TRAPPED IN A VEHICLE. I HAVE ALSO HAD A RECURRING ISSUE WITH THE FRONT SUSPENSION, THE SHOCKS WERE REPLACED AND THE MATTER HAS GOTTEN WORSE. THIS ISSUE TOOK PLACE AFTER THE TIRE WAS REPLACED BECUASE OF A NAIL PUNCTURE. I AM RESPONDING TO THE DEALERSHIP TODAY 10/16/2018 TO SEE WHAT THEY ARE GOING TO DO ABOUT THIS PROBLEM, THAT I DID NOT CREATE AND HAVE ATEMPTED TO HAVE REPAIRED SINCE JULY 2018. WHEN THE CAR IS IN MOTION THE PASSENGER SIDE SIMPLY SEEMS AS IF IT GOING TO FALL OFF, A LOUD CLANKING SOUND AND THE STABILITY IS THEN OFF AFTER THE VEHICLE GOES OVER ANYTHING, MAN HOLE OVERS SMALL FISSURES IN THE GROUND OR LARGE BUMPS. THIS CAN'T BE SAFE AND IT NEEDS TO BE FIXED.
I’m having problems with my coolant leaking and overheating as a result. My coolant leaks out about a day or 2 after I fill it which causes my car to overheat. There is a recall on the leaking coolant but my vehicle vin does not show that it’s in the system. It’s not a big coincidence that my vehicle is having the problem that you recalled but I’d not listed. Please fix my vehicle with this recall. This is a safety issue that needs to be resolved. Thanks
THE COOLANT BYPASS VALVE WAS REPLACED IN 2014 AS PART OF A RECALL. IN JULY 2018 THE CAR OVERHEATED AND WENT INTO LIMP MODE WHILE DRIVING IN A RESIDENTIAL AREA. CAR HAD TO BE TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP. DEALERSHIP SAYS IT'S THE BYPASS VALVE AGAIN AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO RAY VARNER FORD (2026 N CHARLES G SEIVERS BLVD, CLINTON, TN 37716, (865) 457-0704), BUT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,600.
POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT ERROR WOULD COME ON WHEN TURNING ONTO A STREET WHICH WOULD ELIMINATE ALL POWER STEERING TO THE VEHICLE. THIS WOULD HAPPEN AT ANYTIME WHEN DRIVING. I HAD THE VEHICLE (2013 FORD ESCAPE) SERVICED ON 7-18-18 AT THE DEALERSHIP. THE SERVICE CENTER INFORMED ME THAT THE ERROR WAS CAUSED BY A FAULTY ELECTRONIC ASSIST RACK AND PINION AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. MY VEHICLE HAS ONLY 41000 MILES. I FEEL THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND SHOULD BE NOTED FOR A RECALL.
I CAME TO A STOP AT A STOP SIGN IN MY SUBDIVISION, AND MY CAR STALLED OUT. I THOUGHT THE PROBLEM WAS THE BATTERY SO I TRIED TO RESTART, BUT IT FAILED. I SMELLED GAS SO I GOT OUT OF THE CAR AND STARTED SEEING SMOKE UNDER THE HOOD. THE SMOKE GOT WORSE QUICKLY AND CAUGHT FIRE WITHIN 2 MINUTES. THE FRONT OF THE CAR WAS ENGULFED IN FLAMES SHORTLY AFTER, FOR ROUGHLY FIVE MINUTES, AND IT WAS EVENTUALLY TOTALED.
CAR RANDOMLY SHUTS OFF HAS SHUT OFF 3 TIMES SINCE GETTING IT BACK FROM DEALER... CAR WAS PARKED FOR 4 HOURS AFTER STARTING THE CAR AND WAITING FOR THE RPM TO DROP WHEN I PUT IT IN DRIVE AND ACCELERATED THE ENGINE SHUT OFF POWER WAS STILL ON . THE SECOND TIME THE ENGINE SHUT OFF CAR WAS IDLING FOR 10 MINS AFTER A 25 MIN SRIVE FROM WORK WHWN I DROVE OFF MADE A TURN A BLOCK AWAY ENGINE SHUT OFF HAD HIT HAZARDS THROW GEAR INTO NEUTRAL ROLING TO A SAFE DISTANCE FROM CORNER YO STOP. THE LAST TIME THIS HAPPEN CAR WAS NOT IDLE AFTER DRIVING SEVERAL BLOCKS AFTER A ROLLING STOP SIGN MY CSR SHUT OFFF IN THE MIDDLE DFLE OFF INTERSECTION. CAR HAS SAID TO BE FIXED BY DEALERSHIP BUT ITS NOT AUR BAG LIGHT STAYS WENT OFF AFTER TAKING IT IN BUT IS NOW LIT AFAIN
The contact owns a 2013 Ford Escape. The contact stated that while driving 45 MPH uphill the vehicle started overheating and fluid started leaking onto the exhaust manifold. The contact stated that the coolant temperature warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was restarted but was towed to the dealer. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The VIN was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 13V583000 (Engine). The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 79,000.
GAS SMELL IN CABIN. CAR WAS IN PARK WHEN SMELL STARTED.
I DRIVE TO TOWN PARK TO GO IN A STORE COME BACK TO MY CAR START IT AND GO TO DRIVE AS I PULLING IN TRAFFIC IT DIES IT STARTS BACK UP AND DOES IT AGAIN FOR 4 TO 5 TIMES BEFORE FINALLY DRIVING NORMAL, ON HOT DAYS AS THE CAR IS DRIVING IT WILL READ AS IF IT IS OVER HEATING AND PULL REDUCE POWER IN WITCH AS U FINALLY GET OUT OF TRAFFIC AND PULL OVER THE HEAT HAND DROPS BACK DOWN LIKE IT WASN'T HOT THIS REPEATS ON EVER SMALL HILL I GO UP AND THE INSIDE TEMPERATURE READING GOES UP AND DOWN WHILE THIS IS HAPPENING AND IT IS LEAKING COOLANT ON BACK SIDE OF ENGINE AS ALL THE OTHER FORD ESCAPE THAT WAS RECALLED THAT CAUSED THE FIRE
STEERING ASSIST FAULT LIGHT CAME ON AS I WAS TURNING ON A CITY STREET. STEERING BECAME ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE. THIS HAS HAPPENED NUMEROUS TIMES.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD ESCAPE. WHILE REVERSING OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY, THE POWER ASSIST FAILURE INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND THE POWER STEERING SEIZED. THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF, RESTARTED, AND THE ELECTRICAL POWER STEERING WAS RESTORED. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING OR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND WAS AWAITING A CALL BACK. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 129,000.
HAVE HAD SEVERAL INCIDENTS OF THE POWER STEERING ASSIST WARNING COMING ON, AND STEERING IS EXTREMELY HARD TO MANEUVER. BEEN TOLD THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS IF IT OCCURS AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. ALSO TOLD IT IS VERY EXPENSIVE TO FIX.
WHEN DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY SLOWED DOWN AND THE THROTTLE DID NOT WORK. I PULLED OFF, SHUT THE ENGINE AND RESTARTED THE CAR. IT THEN RAN OK. THE SAME THING HAPPENED 2 OTHER TIMES - AS IF THE GAS PEDAL DID NOT WORK. I SAW ON INTERNET THAT ESCAPES HAS A HISTORY OF THROTTLE PROBLEMS, INCLUDING MY YEAR. I TOOK IT TO THE FORD DEALER IN COLUMBIA MO AND THEY SAID , BASED ON THE VIN #, THAT MY CAR WAS SUPPOSEDLY NOT AFFECTED BY THIS THROTTLE ISSUE. THEY SAID THEY COULD DO NOTHING BUT CHARGE ME TO REPLACE THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL. THIS IS WRONG. I COULD GET SERIOUSLY INJURED IF THIS HAPPENS AGAIN BUT FORD TAKES NO RESPONSIBILTY FOR A KNOWN PROBLEM.

CAVENAUGH FORD (2000 E HIGHLAND DR, JONESBORO, AR 72401, (870) 972-8000) DIAGNOSED THAT A FUEL SENSOR, AIR CONDITIONER SENSOR, AND FILTER NEEDED TO BE INSTALLED. THE FUEL SENSOR WAS REPLACED, BUT THE OTHER REPAIRS HAD NOT BEEN COMPLETED. THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED, PROVIDED A CASE NUMBER, AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 106,591.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD ESCAPE. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, THE CONTACT NOTICED DROPS OF FLUID EMERGING FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, SMOKE EMERGED FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT INTO THE VEHICLE CABIN. THE CONTACT PULEDL OVER TO THE SHOULDER AND CALLED ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER (FRONTIER FORD, 3701 STEVENS CREEK BLVD, SANTA CLARA, CALIFORNIA, (408) 241-1800) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT A WIRING HARNESS WAS BURNT AND NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 97,000.
LEAKING COOLANT INTO ENGINE CYLINDER BLOCK.
MY KIDS AND I WERE IN THE DRIVE THRU AT SCHLOTZKY'S WHEN I PUT MY CAR IN 'PARK' TO ORDER. ONCE MY ORDER WAS COMPLETE AND I WAS READY TO PULL FORWARD, I WENT TO PUT MY CAR IN 'DRIVE' AND THE GEAR STICK WAS MOVING FREELY BUT NOT SHIFTING THE GEARS FOR MY CAR TO MOVE. A TEAM MEMBER FROM THE RESTAURANT CAME OUT TO GIVE ME A HAND TO FIND THAT MY SHIFTER CABLE WAS DISCONNECTED. HE THEN TOLD ME TO USE THE EMERGENCY BRAKE TO PARK MY CAR SO IT WOULD PARK AND NOT CONTINUE IN MOTION WHEN I WANTED TO PARK. WE THEN TOOK IT TO MIENEKE WHERE THE CAR PREVIOUSLY WAS FOR A TRANSMISSION REPLACEMENT. THEY SAID THAT MY SHIFTER CABLE HAD GONE BAD. NOW MY GEAR STICK GETS STUCK WITH TRYING TO SHIFT GEARS.

THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE COOLANT LEVEL SENSOR ASSEMBLY AND COOLANT VALVE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 113,000.
ENGINE COOLING SYSTEM FAILS BLOCKING THE WATER PUMP, WHEN THIS PART LOCKS THE SERPENTINE BELT BREAKS AND CAR OVERHEATS, CREATING A LOT OF PROBLEMS INSIDE THE ENGINE, CAR CAN CATCH FIRE TOO, VERY UNSAFE VEHICLE ESPECIALLY FOR PEOPLE WITH KIDS

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE ERROR CODE: P068A (COMPUTER COMMUNICATION ERROR) WAS LOCATED. THE CONTACT WAS REFERRED TO THE DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO FAMILY FORD OF ENFIELD (860-745-1111, 65 HAZARD AVE, ENFIELD, CT 06062), BUT THE FAILURE WAS UNABLE TO BE DUPLICATED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE, BUT WAS ADVISED TO CALL THE DEALER IF THE CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AGAIN. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 59,000.
BOTH LEFT AND RIGHT REAR BRAKE SENSORS (ABS) WENT OUT WITHIN 2 MONTHS OF EACH OTHER, AFTER ONLY 58,000 MILES.
THE COOLANT SYSTEM LEAKED ON THE TURBO CAUSING THE ENGINE TO OVERHEAT AND I HAD TO PAY 1400 IN REPAIRS.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, SCREECHING NOISES EMITTED FROM CAR AND THEN INSTRUMENT CLUSTER SHOWED THE MESSAGE "ENGINE POWER REDUCED TO LOWER TEMPS" AND AFTER A FEW MINUTES "ENGINE OVER TEMP, STOP SAFELY." TURNS OUR THE WATER PUMP FAILED, REQUIRING REPLACEMENT OF PUMP AND BELT AT 35K MILES,

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DON WOOD FORD LINCOLN INC. LOCATED AT 2065 E STATE ST, ATHENS, OH 45701, WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE TURBO ASSEMBLY WAS DEFECTIVE. WIPER MOTOR MALFUNCTION. WIPERS STOP WORKING RANDOMLY MAKING IT DANGEROUS AND DIFFICULT TO DRIVE. WIPERS BECOME UNALIGNED AND DON'T WORK IN UNISON CAUSING ISSUES WITH THE WIPERS PERFORMANCE AND AT TIMES WIPERS STOP WORKING AT ALL MAKING IT UNSAFE TO USE VEHICLE AT ALL. WIPERS STOP WORKING AT ANY TIME DURING DIFFERENT VEHICLE OPERATIONS. THIS IS UNSAFE AND SHOULD BE ADDRESSED BEFORE THIS ISSUE CAUSES A FATAL ACCIDENT. THIS ISSUE CAN BE SEEN IN MANY DIFFERENT FORD ESCAPES AND HAVE BEEN A COMMON ISSUE FOR THIS VEHICLE BY MANY DIFFERENT FORD OWNERS. THIS MATTER MUST BE ADDRESSED. ENGINE WIRING HARNESS AND SENSOR PROBLEMS IN 2013 FORD ESCAPE WITH 2.0 LITER ENGINE THAT WAS NOT INCLUDED IN PREVIOUS SAFETY RECALL. WHILE ON A VACATION TRIP IN FEBRUARY, 2018, THE ENGINE FAULT WARNING LIGHT CAME ON IN OUR 2013 FORD ESCAPE TITANIUM WITH THE 2.0 LITER ENGINE AFTER RESTARTING THE CAR AND ENTERING THE HIGHWAY. IT WAS FOLLOWED BY THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. AS WE DROVE TO THE NEAREST FORD DEALERSHIP, THE CAR WAS INCREASINGLY HESITATING AND SEEMED TO BE MISFIRING, A DANGEROUS SITUATION SINCE HIGHWAY DRIVING WAS REQUIRED. THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN AT THE DEALERSHIP DID AN ANALYSIS AND DETERMINED THAT THE PROBLEM WAS IN THE MAP SENSOR. HE REPLACED THAT SENSOR UNDER WARRANTY AND THE PROBLEM WAS APPARENTLY FIXED UNTIL JUNE 4, 2018, WHEN IDENTICAL PROBLEMS APPEARED AFTER A STOP ON A LOCAL TRIP.THE CAR WAS PARKED AT A SAFE LOCATION AND ON JUNE 6 DRIVEN TO A LOCAL DEALERSHIP FOR SERVICE AND REPAIR. ANALYSIS BY THE TECHNICIAN SHOWED THAT THERE ARE PROBLEMS IN THE ENGINE WIRING HARNESS THAT ARE DISRUPTING SIGNALS FROM THE MAP SENSOR AND THE CAM SENSOR, AND THAT REPLACEMENT OF THE COMPLETE ENGINE WIRING HARNESS IS REQUIRED TO FIX THE PROBLEM. ALTHOUGH THIS CAR WAS BUILT DURING THE SAME PERIOD AS THE CARS COVERED BY NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER 14V495000 AND IT HAS THE SAME ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS AND THE SAME APPARENT PROBLEMS, IT WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THAT RECALL. IT IS CLEAR TO ME IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN. FURTHER, IT SEEMS THERE ARE POTENTIAL SIGNIFICANT SAFETY CONCERNS REGARDING ALL 2013 AND 2014 FORD ESCAPES WITH THE 2.0 LITER ENGINE THAT WERE NOT INCLUDED IN THE ORIGINAL RECALL.

THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL ON THE VEHICLE; THEREFORE, THE CONTACT WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE REPAIR COSTS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL TIMES WHILE THE WARRANTY WAS STILL IN EFFECT AND THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED SEVERAL TIMES. THE COOLANT IS LEAKING. IT REQUIRES ME TO FILL IT UP MULTIPLE TIMES WEEKLY. I HAVE ALREADY BEEN TO AN AUTOMOTIVE SHOP TO GET THIS 'FIXED' AND IT HAS CONTINUED TO PERSIST. I CAN'T SEE WHERE IT IS LEAKING. IT DOES NOT END UP ON THE GROUND WHERE I PARK IT. MY COOLANT LEVEL LOW ALERT POPS UP WHEN I AM BOTH ACTIVELY DRIVING AND WHEN I TURN THE CAR ON AT TIMES. THE MAJORITY OF THE TIME IT HAPPENS WHILE ACTIVELY DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY OR IN THE CITY. THE ACCELERATOR SEEMS OFF. IT HESITATES WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE. I HAVE ALSO BROUGHT THIS IN TO AN AUTOMOTIVE SHOP AND THEY THOUGHT IT WAS THE BATTERY. THEY REPLACED MY LESS THAN 1 YEAR OLD BATTERY WITH A BRAND NEW ONE. THE PROBLEM HAS PERSISTED EVEN AFTER BATTERY REPLACEMENT. THIS HAPPENS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS ACCELERATING AND CAN HAPPEN ON ANY ROAD TYPE.

AND I'M BEING TOLD THAT THE TURBO BOOST CODE IS BEEN CAUSED BY FAULTY WIRING WHICH IS HAPPENED TO BE TOTALLY REPLACED. AS PER MY OTHER STATEMENT I AM HAVING IT REPAIRED TOMORROW BUT NOT BEING REIMBURSED. TOOK TO VICTORY FORD IN KANSAS CITY AFTER 5 HOURS THEY COULDN'T FIGURE OUT WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS OTHER THAN REPLACING THE SENSOR. HUNDRED AND $69 FOR THE DIAGNOSIS. I WAS OUT OF TOWN SO BABY. DID IT ALL THE WAY BACK HOME HAD A LOCAL DEALERSHIP PUT THE SENSOR IN. ANOTHER $74.. IN THE MEANTIME ENGINE CODE WOULD SPORADICALLY DISAPPEAR. AND REAPPEAR PERIOD FOR NO APPARENT REASON. HAD THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP CHECK THE CODE AGAIN KEEPS READING TURBO PROBLEMS. THEY'RE FORD MACHINE WAS DOWN SO I TOOK IT TO A DEALERSHIP IN THE NEXT TOWN. SPECIFIC CODING SHOWED THAT IS A WIRING AND SPLICE PROBLEM. IN THE MEANTIME I'VE ALMOST BEEN RUN OVER SEVERAL TIMES BECAUSE THE CAR WON'T ACCELERATE WHEN THE CODE IS THROWN. IF THERE'S A PROBLEM WITH THE WIRING HARNESS IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN COVERED UNDER A RECALL WHICH I'VE BEEN TOLD IT IS NOT. AND TOMORROW DEALERSHIP IS REPLACING ALL OF THE SPLICING AND WIRING FOR ANOTHER $450. I'M AFRAID THAT THE PROBLEM MAY HAVE CAUSED OTHER ISSUES. BUT WON'T KNOW UNTIL AFTER THE ORIGINAL PROBLEM IS FIXED. I FEEL LIKE A COUPLE OF THE WIRING ISSUES THAT HAVE BEEN RECALLED ALREADY SHOULD HAVE INCLUDED THIS. CONSISTENT ISSUES WITH THE ENGINE COOLANT SYSTEM RESULTING IN ANTIFREEZE GOING INTO THE VALVES. WE ARE NOW HAVING TO HAVE THE ENTIRE ENGINE REPLACED.
PURCHASED A 2013 FORD ESCAPE TURBO FROM WICKENBURG JONES FORD IN WICKENBURG AZ. VEHICLE CAUGHT ON FIRE AS MY HUSBAND WAS DRIVING HOME.
