TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD ESCAPE. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE ENGINE STALLED AND THE CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE CRIMPED SPLICES FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V495000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 30,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD ESCAPE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SERVICE ENGINE WARNING LIGHT KEPT RANDOMLY FLASHING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS A SHORT WITH THE WIRES AND THE ENGINE WIRING HARNESS. THE DEALER REPLACED THE PARTS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: 15V813000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) AND 14V495000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 42,612.
ESCAPE 2013 AWD 77,000 MILES. INTERNAL MECHANICAL PROBLEMS AFFECTING THE DIFFERENTIAL. THE TRANSMISSION FLUID IS BURN'T. THE TRANSMISSIONS SLIPS IN EVERY GEAR, EVENTUALLY PUTTING ITSELF IN TO NEUTRAL. A WELL ESTABLISHED, LOCAL AAA RECOMMENDED TRANSMISSION SHOP OWNER STATES ONLY ONE OPTION; REPLACING THE TRANSMISSION AT A COST OF $4,800. FURTHER, STATED THE PROBLEM WAS SOMETHING THAT HAD BEEN BUILDING UP FOR QUIET SOME TIME AND THAT IT'S SOME SORT OF DEFECT. WORST CASE SCENARIO, TRANSMISSIONS FAILS DUE TO DEFECT CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. IT HAS HAD 2 MAJOR REPAIRS SINCE I PURCHASED IT NEW FROM THE DEALERSHIP IN 2013 TOTALLING OVER $2,500. $2,500 + $4,800 = $7,300 FOR A VEHICLE ONLY 2 YEARS OLD. THIS MODEL NEEDS TO THOROUGHLY INVESTIGATED BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT OR POSSIBLY KILLED.
ENGINE WARNING LIGHT FIRST BEGAN TO APPEAR AT APPROXIMATELY 35,000 MILES. INITIALLY THE WARNING LIGHT CAME ON AND OFF AFTER A FEW WEEKS, THEN STAYED ON PERMANENTLY UNTIL I TOOK IT INTO THE DEALER. AFTER I LEFT THE DEALER, THE ENGINE LIGHT REAPPEARED AFTER APPROXIMATELY A MONTH WHILE I WAS DRIVING AND STAYED ON STEADY AT APPROXIMATELY 40,000 MILES. THE DEALER STATED IT HAD TO DO WITH FUELING THE CAR. I TOOK PARTICULAR CARE IN NOTICING WHEN THIS CURRENT ENGINE LIGHT APPEARED. IT WAS NO WHERE NEAR FUELING OF THE CAR. IT WAS DURING THE OPERATION OF THE VEHICLE. THANK GOD IT HAS NOT BEEN ASSOCIATED WITH ANY "REAL" ISSUE OTHER THAN THE FACT THAT I CAN'T USE THE CLICKER TO AUTO-START MY CAR DURING WHAT HAS UP UNTIL NOW BEEN A RELATIVELY MILD WINTER. THIS CAR HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP SO MANY TIMES, I AM ON A FIRST NAME BASIS WITH THE FORD STAFF. BUY JAPAN.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD ESCAPE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ENGINE WAS DEFECTIVE AND THE ENGINE LIGHT REMAINED ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING, WHICH LOCATED A FAILURE CODE AT THE COOLANT SYSTEM. WHEN THE ENGINE WAS STARTED, SMOKE AND A BURNING ODOR WAS DETECTED FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
WE HAVE A 2013 CPO FORD TITANIUM WITH 30,000 MILES ON IT, AND IT RECENTLY STARTED TO HAVE PROBLEMS WITH IT LOOSING POWER WHILE TRYING TO EXCELLERATE. MOST OF THE TIME IT IS FROM A STOPLIGHT OR SIGN, BUT ON OCCASION WHILE GETTING ON THE HIGHWAY. THE ENGINE STARTS TO STUMBLE, AND WON'T GET UP TO SPEED. THE "SERVICE ENGINE NOW" LIGHT COMES ON, AND WE HAVE TO LIMP TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. WHEN PUTTING IT IN NEUTRAL, THE ENGINE REVS UP TO 3000 RPMS BEFORE WE TURN IT OFF. AFTER LETTING THE COMPUTER "REBOOT " , THE ENGINE IS OK AND THE "SERVICE ENGINE" LIGHT GOES OFF. THIS HAS HAPPENED TO US AT LEAST SIX TIMES IN THE LAST TWO MONTHS. TWICE WE HAVE HAD IT TO CREST LINCOLN (PURCHASED FROM) IN WOODBURY, CT., AND ONCE TO AN INDEPENDENT TECHNICIAN WITH NEITHER OF THEM ABLE TO GET A FAULT CODE FROM THE COMPUTER MEMORY. IT IS COMPLETELY VOID OF ANY FAULT CODES! MY NEPHEW HAS THE SAME CAR FROM ANOTHER DEALER, AND THEY ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM! IT PUTS US IN DANGEROUS SITUATIONS. EVERY TIME WE PULL AWAY FROM A STOP SIGN, WE HOPE THERE IS NOT A DUMP TRUCK GOING TO RUN US OVER! THE NHTSA NEEDS TO LOOK INTO THIS SAFETY ISSUE!
FOR A FEW MONTHS LOW COOLANT LIGHT WOULD COME ON AND I WOULD FILL IT. THEN CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. BEFORE I COULD HAVE IT CHECKED OUT, I WAS DRIVING FOR ONLY FIVE MINUTES AND A RED INDICATOR LIGHT CAME ON AND THE CAR SLOWED DOWN. IT READ, HIGH ENGINE TEMPERATURE, STOP SAFELY. MANAGED TO GET CAR HOME AND CHECKED THE LEVEL OF COOLANT/ANTIFREEZE. IT WAS WELL BELOW THE MIN LEVEL. FILLED IT UP AND THE FLUID LEAKED OUT RIGHT AWAY. TOOK IT TO FORD DEALER FOR SERVICE. IT WAS A FAULTY COOLANT DIVERTER VALVE THAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. FORD TOLD ME THAT IT WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THE POWERTRAIN WARRANTY WHICH WAS A LITTLE CONFUSING TO ME. ALSO, I KNOW THERE WERE MANY RECALLS ON THIS VEHICLE THAT WERE TAKEN CARE OF. ONE INVOLVING COOLING SYSTEM. NOT SURE IF THIS PROBLEM I JUST HAD WAS RELATED TO A PREVIOUS RECALL.
THE CAR SUDDENLY AND WITHOUT WARNING SHIFTED INTO NEUTRAL FOR A FEW SECONDS THEN SLIPPED BACK INTO GEAR EVEN THOUGH THE GEAR SHIFT WAS IN DRIVE. THIS STARTED HAPPENING EVERY FEW MINUTES REGARDLESS OF WHAT GEAR THE VEHICLE WAS IN. THE PROBLEM WOULD OCCUR WHILE DRIVING THUS MAKING IT UNSAFE TO DRIVE.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE COOLANT BYPASS VALVE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 12V431000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
VEHICLE SHUT OFF WHILE GETTING ON THE HIGHWAY TRAVELING AT ABOUT 25 MPH. IT WOULD NOT RESTART, HAD TO BE TOWED TO NEAREST FORD DEALER. FAILURE WAS DUE TO ELECTRICAL HARNESS SHORTING WIRE. THERE ARE A COUPLE OF RECALLS FOR THIS SAME ISSUE ON ESCAPES BUT I AM TOLD MY VEHICLE ISN'T ONE OF THE RECALLS, DESPITE BEING THE SAME PROBLEM
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD ESCAPE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH, THE IGNITION KEY INDEPENDENTLY MOVED INTO THE OFF POSITION AND THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE FAILED TO RESTART AND WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 111,000.
ON 10-10-2015, OUR 2013 FORD ESCAPE 4WD STARTED DISPLAYING AN ABS ERROR CODE, ALONG WITH A TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM ERROR AND A "HILL START ASSIST NOT AVAILABLE" ERROR MESSAGE, SIMULTANEOUSLY. THE ABS BRAKES WOULD ENGAGE AT LOW TRAVEL SPEED. WE TOOK IT TO THE DEALER, WHO DETERMINED THAT A REAR WHEEL SENSOR HAD FAILED. THEY KEPT THE CAR FOR TWO WEEKS AND RETURNED IT ON 10-21-2015. IT HAD 24,273 MILES ON IT. NOW, 3 WEEKS LATER, ON 10-16-2015, THE VERY SAME PROBLEM HAS RECURRED, WITH THE DASH LIGHTS DISPLAYING FOR THE ABS SYSTEM FAILURE, THE TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM FAILURE AND THE "HILL START ASSIST NOT AVAILABLE". THE ABS SYSTEM ENGAGES AT LOW SPEEDS CAUSING THE BRAKES TO GRAB, RENDERING THE CAR UNSAFE TO DRIVE. THIS CAR IS A 'LEMON' IN OUR OPINION, AS IT HAS HAD 5 MAJOR BREAKDOWNS, INCLUDING A MAJOR ENGINE PROBLEM AT 720 MILES, A FAILURE OF THE AIR BAG CONTROLLER, TWO PROBLEMS WITH THE ABS SYSTEM, AS DOCUMENTED HEREIN, AND TWO RECALLS RELATED TO THE ENGINE POTENTIALLY CATCHING ON FIRE DUE TO A FUEL LEAK (A RECALL, FOLLOWED BY A RECALL TO FIX THE RECALL). I SINCERELY BELIEVE THAT THIS VEHICLE IS DANGEROUS AND HAVE ASKED THE FORD MOTOR COMPANY TO BUY BACK THIS VEHICLE SEVERAL TIMES, BUT THEY HAVE REFUSED TO DO SO. I FEAR THAT MY WIFE AND I ARE NOT SAFE WHILE DRIVING THIS CAR DUE TO THE HIGH NUMBER OF DEFECTS ON THIS ONE PARTICULAR VEHICLE. I AM REPORTING THIS ABS/TRACTION CONTROL PROBLEM SINCE IT HAS NOW HAPPENED TWICE, AS I BELIEVE IT LIKELY IMPACTS OTHER FORD ESCAPES MADE AT THE SAME TIME, AND LIKELY INDICATES A BAD BATCH OF WHEEL SENSORS THAT ARE FAILING PREMATURELY IN THE FIELD. SINCE THE FAILURE OF THE WHEEL SENSOR DISABLES THE ABS AND TCS SYSTEMS, THIS IS A DANGEROUS DEFECT, AS IT CAN HAPPEN COMPLETELY AT RANDOM. MY WIFE WAS 100 MILES FROM HOME LAST TIME AND HAD TO DRIVE BACK WITH THE ABS & TCS NOT FUNCTIONING.) THIS CAR IS "UNSAFE AT ANY SPEED"! *TR
MULTIPLE TIMES CHECK ENGINE SERVICE ENGINE FAULT NOW COMES ON, KILLING ALL POWER AND STEERING TO VEHICLE. STALLED OUT IN TRAFFIC, ON HIGHWAY, AT A STOP, LOW SPEED, NO SPEED, HIGH SPEED. LOST ALL ABILITY TO ACCELERATE OR CONTROL VEHICLE. TRACTION CONTROL SENSOR LIGHT LIT UP, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT LIT UP, AIRBAG SENSOR LIT UP AND YET RUNNING THE CHECK SYSTEMS ON IT RESPONDS THAT ALL SYSTEMS ARE NORMAL AND NO ACTIVE MESSAGES. PREVIOUSLY HAD ISSUE WITH A BAD WHEEL SENSOR AFFECTING RPM'S, SPEED, AND ACCELERATION. IT TOOK THE DEALER 4 DAYS TO FIGURE THAT OUT AS NO COMPUTER CODES DISPLAYED. WHEN TURNING THE LIGHTS ON MANUALLY, THE SENSOR ON THE DASH DOESN'T LIGHT UP AND IT DOES NOT TURN THE LIGHTS ON UNLESS IT IS COMPLETELY DARK OUTSIDE. NOT GOOD FOR THESE RAINY OVERCAST MORNINGS. THE ENGINE STALLING HAPPENED IN ALL DIFFERENT CIRCUMSTANCES AND TRAVELING IN INNER CITY TRAFFIC AND LOSING POWER HAS PROVEN TO BE QUITE DANGEROUS. IT FIRST HAPPENED YESTERDAY WHILE TRAVELING SHORT TRIP TURNING INTO PARKING LOT. TODAY IT OCCURRED 12 TIMES IN A SPAN OF A 25 MILE TRIP WITH MY GRANDDAUGHTER IN THE CAR. I READ THE FORD WEBSITE AND NTSA ONES AND FEEL IT COULD POSSIBLY BE RELATED TO RECALL # 14S17 BUT WHEN I RUN THE VIN NUMBER, IT ONLY SHOWS ACTIVE RECALL RELATED TO AIRBAGS. IT HAS HAD MULTIPLE RECALLS SINCE FIRST 3 MONTHS OF OWNERSHIP AND DEALER WHERE PURCHASED NEVER SEEMS TO KNOW OR HAVE PARTS IN ORDER TO ADDRESS RECALL ISSUES. THE PROBLEM IS THAT WHEN THIS HAPPENS, YOU LOSE ALL ABILITY TO CONTROL THE VEHICLE AND THERE IS NO INDICATION OF WHEN OR WHERE IT'S GOING TO HAPPEN. WE WERE SITTING AT AN INTERSECTION AND WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN, I ACCELERATED AND IT LOST POWER AND THERE WAS NOWHERE TO GET THE VEHICLE OFF OF THE ROAD AS IT WAS TRAFFIC ALL AROUND US. I TURNED MY HAZARDS ON AND PRAYED WE DIDN'T GET HIT BY THE ONCOMING ONSLAUGHT OF TRAFFIC.

THE VEHICLE WAS PULLED OVER, THE ENGINE WAS TURNED OFF, AND THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE ORIGIN OF THE COOLANT LEAK WAS NOT LOCATED. THE FAILURE RECURRED AND THE INDEPENDENT MECHANIC COULD NOT LOCATE THE LEAK. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO BOGGUS FORD MCALLEN (1400 E EXPRESSWAY 83, MCALLEN, TX 78501, (956) 686-7411) WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS. THE DEALER COULD NOT REPLICATE THE FAILURE SINCE THE COOLANT LEVEL WAS NORMAL AT THE TIME. THE FAILURE OCCURRED AGAIN A FEW WEEKS LATER. THE MANUFACTURER ACKNOWLEDGED THE FAILURE AND ADVISED THE CONTACT TO FILE A COMPLAINT WITH NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN.
POWER STEERING QUIT INSTANTLY MAKING STEERING IMPOSSIBLE. RESTARTED ENGINE 15 MINUTES LATER AND WAS ABLE TO DRIVE. TOOK TO DEALER WHERE SAME ERROR CODE SHOWED AND POWER STEERING QUIT AGAIN. HAD REPAIRS DONE FOR $1600 AT 49,500 MILES. FORTUNATELY, VEHICLE SITTING STILL WHEN STEERING WENT OUT.
ENGINE COOLANT SERVICE REQUIRED, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. CHECKED COOLANT LOW. ADDED COOLANT 4 DAYS LATER THE SAME MESSAGE APPEARS AGAIN. ADD MORE COOLANT. TAKE MY VEHICLE TO DEALERSHIP DUE TO THE LEAK. WHICH IS A RECALL ON OTHER 2013 FORD ESCAPE BUT APPARENTLY NOT MINES. I HAVE T REPLACE WATER PUMP, GASKET, SERVICING BELT AND 1 GALLON OF COOLANT FOR OVER $1100.00 WITH NO HELP FROM FORD. WHEN THEY KNOW THEY SHOULD DUE A RECALL ON ALL 2013 FORD ESACAPES.
VEHICLE POWERS DOWN, LEAKS COOLANT , HAS ROUGH RIDE, VIBRATES AND HAS COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN ATLEAST TWICE REQUIRING A TOW. ENGINE HAS HOT SMELL TO IT, AS IF IT IS COMING FROM HOT COOLANT . FORD SAYS "CAN'T FIND A LEAK." THEY REPLACED A PART ON IT, HOWEVER I CAN NOT RECALL WHAT IT WAS BECAUSE THEY WERE ONLY GUESSING THEMSELVES AS FAR AS LOW COOLANT. HOWEVER IT DID NOT FIX IT ANYWAY. I HAVE CALLED FORD MANY TIMES, BUT THEY SHOW NO RECALLS TO ANY OF THE PROBLEMS I HAVE MENTIONED. I AM A SINGLE MOM & NURSE, I NEED A RELIABLE VEHICLE. IT IS SO DEPRESSING TO MAKE PAYMENTS ON VEHICLE. BY THE WAY I HAVE NO WARRANTY. THE ISSUES OCCUR AT ANY TIME ON ANY ROADS.
I WAS DRIVING GOING 40 MPH & CAR JUST DIED, THE ENGINE TURNED OFF ALMOST GOT RE ENDED AS THE CAR JUST CAME TO A STOP. I WAS NOT ABLE TO RESTART FOR A COUPLE MINUTES. ALL THE POWER STAYED ON BUT THE ENGINE DIED AND THE CAR LOST MOMENTUM.
FORD CHQ EXTENDED THE WARRANTY ON 2013 ESCAPES DUE TO NUMEROUS ISSUES. DURING THIS WARRANTY PERIOD, MY EMISSIONS SENSOR FAILED, NEEDS TO BE REPLACED & FORD IS REFUSING TO REPAIR IT STATING 'EMISSIONS IS EXCLUDED FROM THIS WARRANTY'. THE REPAIR COST IS $375 & MY CAR WILL NOT PASS EMISSIONS INSPECTION UNTIL IT'S FIXED. THE PROBLEM REMAINS UNRESOLVED UNTIL/UNLESS FORD FIXES IT. A 3 YR OLD CAR SHOULD NOT HAVE AN EMISSIONS PROBLEM UNLESS THERE ARE DEFECTIVE PARTS (IN WHICH CASE FORD SHOULD PAY TO RESOLVE). NOTE THE EXTENDED WARRANTY LETTER FROM FORD DOES NOT SPECIFY ANY EXCLUSIONS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD ESCAPE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE REDUCING SPEED TO LESS THAN 10 MPH, THE ENGINE SUDDENLY STALL. THE VEHICLE WOULD ALSO STALL WHILE IDLING. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000.
DOOR LATCHES BROKE ON 3 SEPARATE OCCASIONS. 04/17/14, 04/02/15, AND 10/31/15. FIRST ONE HAPPENED WHEN I OPENED THE REAR DRIVER SIDE DOOR AND THEN CLOSED IT. IT WAS LIKE METAL HITTING METAL, NO WAY TO CLOSE AND LATCH DOOR. SECOND TIME CLOSED AND LOCKED DOOR, WHEN I CAME OUT OF GROCERY STORE, DRIVER DOOR WAS OPEN ABOUT 1/2 INCH. TRIED TO CLOSE DOOR BUT IT WAS AGAIN METAL HITTING METAL. HAD TO DRIVE HOME HOLDING DOOR SHUT AND DRIVE WITH ONE HAND,RIGHT TURNS ESPECIALLY DANGEROUS. THIRD INCIDENT PASSENGER REAR DOOR, OPENED DOOR, WHEN CLOSING IT, IT WAS METAL HITTING METAL AGAIN. ALL THREE TIMES I HAD MY 2 SMALL GRANDCHILDREN IN CAR SEATS IN THE BACK. THIS IS A LIFE THREATENING SITUATION THAT NEEDS IMMEDIATE ATTENTION FROM FORD TO CORRECT THESE DOOR LATCHES. BESIDES THE DANGER IT IS AN EXPENSIVE FIX. IT HAS COST ME ALMOST $900.00 FOR THESE REPAIRS. FORD NEEDS TO FIX THIS BEFORE SOME ONE IS SERIOUSLY INJURED OR KILLED. THE ONLY ONE LEFT TO BREAK IS THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR. THIS IS A BIG CONCERN FOR ME!
MY CAR RUNS FINE WHEN I START IT AFTER IT HAS BEEN SITTING FOR A WHILE. IF I MAKE A STOP AND TURN MY CAR OFF, AND THEN RESTART IT WITHIN A FEW MINUTES, IT BEGINS TO STALL AS I AM DRIVING. WHEN THIS HAPPENS, I HAVE TO SHUT MY CAR OFF AND RESTART IT . MOST TIMES I HAVE TO RESTART IT 3 TO 4 TIMES BEFORE IT STOPS STALLING. THIS IS UNSAFE BECAUSE I AM TYPICALLY IN TRAFFIC WHEN IT STALLS. I CONTATED THE DEALERSHIP WHO INFORMED ME OF A RECALL THAT OIL COULD LEAK ONTO THE ENGINE AND START A FIRE. I WAS NEVER NOTIFIED. I WAS GIVEN A NUMBER FOR FORD CUSTOMER RELATIONS. I NOTIFIED THEM OF WHAT HAPPENDED AND WAS TOLD THEY TURNED MY CASE OVER TO THEIR LEGAL COUNSEL AND I WOULD RECIEVE A WRITTEN RESPONSE FROM FORD IN 15 BUSINESS DAYS. IHAVE STILL NOT RECIEVED A LETTER AND I WAS TOLD I JUST HAVE TO WAIT FOR THE LETTER.

WILSON FORD SAID THEY REPLACED A MAP SENSOR. I DROVE THE CAR FOR ABOUT A WEEK. THE SAME PROBLEM OCCURRED . WILSON'S TOLD ME THE SENSOR WAS BAD. THE SAME PROBLEM AGAIN. THEY THEN SAID THEY HAD TO RESET THE COMPUTER AND FIX A FRACTURED WIRE. MY HUSBAND WAS DRIVING THE CAR LAST THURSDAY. MY GRANDSON WAS A PASSENGER. THIS PROBLEM AGAIN OCCURRED. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. I HAVE COMPLAINED TO THE DEALERSHIP AND ALSO FORD COMPANY WITHOUT ANY SATISFACTION. THIS PROBLEM OCCURS WHEN THE CAR IS IN MOTION. I FILED A COMPLAINT WITH THE NHTSA ON SEPT 28 VIA TELEPHONE. AUTO LOSES COOLANT FREQUENTLY WITHOUT ANY VISIBLE LEAKS. HAVE TO REPLACE/ADD COOLANT EVERY 50 TO 100 MILES DRIVEN. WHEN COOLANT IS LOW, THE CAR REQUIRES PULLING OVER UNTIL COOLANT IS ADDED. I'VE OWNED THE CAR FOR 3 YEARS, IT HAS 117,000 MILES ON IT AND THIS PROBLEM HAS RECURRED, EXPECIALLY IN THE WINTER, EVERY YEAR SINCE I'VE OWNED THE CAR. COOLANT LEAKAGE SEEMS TO BE WORSE WHEN I USE THE AUTO STARTER TO WARM UP THE CAR BEFORE DRIVING.

THE LATCH ON THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR BROKE. I DID NOT SLAM IT OR EVEN SHUT IS HARD. I WAS ABLE TO BUNGIE THE DOOR CLOSED AND GOT IT TO THE DEALER TO FIX THE PROBLEM. I WENT TO PICK UP THE VEHICLE AFTER THE WORK WAS COMPLETE AND WHEN THEY WENT TO GET IT THEY SAID THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR WOULD NOT SHUT. THE ATTENDANT WHO WENT TO GET IT SAID THE DOOR WAS OPEN SLIGHTLY WHEN HE GOT IN. SO I HAD TWO LATCHES BREAK WITHIN A MATTER OF HOURS, AND I STILL DON'T HAVE THE VEHICLE WITH ME. I CAME HOME AND SAW THAT THERE WERE RECALLS ON SOME OF FORD'S OTHER MODELS. THIS IS CONCERNING BECAUSE IT SEEMS AS THOUGH THESE LATCHES BREAK FOR NO REASON AND AT RANDOM TIMES. I HAVE A YOUNG DAUGHTER AND NOW IT WILL BE IN THE BACK OF MY MIND WILL ANOTHER LATCH BREAK WHEN SHE IS IN THE VEHICLE, OR WILL MY WIFE OR I HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT FALLING OUT OF THE VEHICLE WHILE DRIVING. FORD HAS RECALLED LATCHES ON OTHER VEHICLES AND FROM THE PICTURES I HAVE SEEN LOOK ALMOST IDENTICAL TO THE THE ONES THAT BROKE ON OURS.

IT WILL REMAIN OPEN AND OPEN UP IF I MAKE A LEFT HAND TURN. THE LATCH MECHANISM IS MALFUNCTIONING AND DOES NOT KEEP THE REAR DOOR CLOSED.

WHEN I WAS DRIVING MY VEHICLE ON A LOCAL ROAD IN A RESIDENTIAL AREA, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON. THAT DAY, I'VE NEVER DRIVEN ON A FREEWAY, OR FASTER THAN 45 MPH, AND THE PROBLEM OCCURS ONLY AFTER NORMALLY LOW SPEED DRIVING FOR 15 MIN. I GOT THE VEHICLE INSPECTED BY THE DEALER, AND THEY TOLD ME THE ERROR CODE IS P026B7, AND IT HAS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE COOLANT BYPASS VALVE. THAT PART IS NOT COVERED BY THE POWER TRAIN WARRANTY. THE VEHICLE HAD A RECALL BEFORE ASSOCIATED WITH THE COOLANT LEAKAGE, SO IT IS VERY SUSPICIOUS THAT THE COOLANT BYPASS VALVE IS ALSO INHERENTLY DEFECTED, CONSIDERING WITH SO MAY OTHER VEHICLES SHARING THE SAME FAILURE WITH THE SAME ENGINE.
DRIVERS SEAT BELT DOES NOT RETRACT, NOW IT WILL NOT RETRACT ENOUGH TO PROPERLY FIT DRIVER, HANGING LOOSE ON TORSO AT ALL TIMES, AND CONDITIONS. CLEARLY THIS IS A FAILED SAFETY DEVICE, REQUIRED BY LAW.
