My car began to overheat and enter limp mode, when diagnosed the codes that appeared correlated directly with a safety recall issued in 2017. I brought my car to ford 2x to have them service the recall. I was given my car back, with the check engine light on and still overheating.i went to another dealership, who diagnosed my car again and I paid 712$ for a “water outlet connector “ and this did not resolve the issue. Ford decided to keep the car for 2 months, unable to diagnose the issue, they kept dropping it off to me and it would overheat… they towed it 2x back to the dealership for overheating after they drove 100+ miles on it. Instead of fixing the issue, they kept telling me it was not overheating and dropped it off to me with the check engine light on, the same codes, and overheating… stopping abruptly at high speeds. I brought it back to ford after it cut power at 50 mph with my daughter in it… Now I am being told, I have a cracked cylinder head and the recalled part has nothing to do with the cracked cylinder head … which was not cracked prior too all the repairs done. I was not informed that it was cracked, until November 6 2023. My car has been serviced since July 21st 2023. A cracked cylinder head, is a direct result of a faulty recalled part… which ford replaced a coolant level sensor and stand pipe to prevent this issue. It is not resolved. The estimated the repair at 5800$ and failed to give me any invoices. Refusing to work on my vehicle.
I own a 2014 Ford Escape Eco boost 2.0 liter. Vehicle started losing coolant but no visible leak. Took car to be diagnosed at a ford dealership where they told me vehicle was fine and passed a pressure test. Less than 600 miles later the vehicle is overheating, smoking from engine and tail pipe, even for an extended time after vehicle is off. I have video of vehicle smoking while engine off. Now I am told it is a head gasket issue and repair is over $7k. This is a known issue that Ford refuses to acknowledge and issue a recall. There's been nurmerus of people whom have experienced exact issue and are joining a class action lawsuit. If NHTSA doesn't do their part to put this ford 1.6-2.0 liter on a recall, then the wrong doing continues and should be held accountable as well. There have been cases where same make/model has been reported catching on fire. Someone is going to get physically injured if not already. Requesting an investigation to conducted and faulty engines replaced.I am unable to load pictures and videos from computer I am submitting this complaint with. If permitted I will email pictures video, dealership pressure test , and other documenation from my personal computer.
I would like to voice concern about the 2 pc lugnuts that Ford places on vehicles. They are not good & after doing some research & talking with other Suppliers and Companies regarding this matter, it is my understanding this is an ongoing issue that Ford continues to ignore. This is not safe. My tire had a slow leak in it. I took it to a local Tire shop who advised the Tire could not be fixed because the tear was in the sidewall. They also advised the lugnuts were swollen & in terrible condition & then went on to show me the lugnuts & educate me on the design that Ford has. The reason for the terrible condition is likely because the nuts have to be beaten off unless the work is done at Ford, as they have special tooling & capabilities to deal with the nut. He also advised, instead of recalling, Ford opted to come out with a special tool or tooling that is specific to only their Dealers. Not ok. Not all people want to use Ford for their tire needs. Nobody should ever take one opinion at face value. I went to another local tire shop to make sure the info I was given about my tire AND the lugnuts was correct. However, when I went, I made no mention that I already had the first opinion, nor did I share any of the info with the 2nd Company. Same information was repeated to me, both about the lugnuts & my tire. Very concerning on the lug nuts & I now believe this to be accurate. This place felt so bad for me & for the condition the nuts were in, that they put gently used ones on 1 of my tires, free of charge, just because they had the tire off to look at it & knew the Ford ones were total "garbage". As of today, I went to my local Ford dealer for a tire rotation & oil change. Low & behold, they mention all of my lug nuts are swollen & that I need new. I voiced concern to the Service Manager about the lugnut information. He & the Service Advisor both advised that yes, this was an ongoing complaint & it was bad for them too. This is ridiculous & i complained to Ford also.

Amongst SEVERAL problems with this vehicle, it often slips out of gear while driving. Which has caused me to have to stop in the middle of the lane. It has had multiple mega fuses go out. It will often say “power steering fault” and then the message will go away. I am genuinely scared to drive this vehicle because I never know when the power system is going to go out. I have always stayed up to date on maintenance and it has less than 90k on miles. I do not understand why this has not been pulled off the market. It seems like all the escapes before mine were pulled for the same issues.

In March 2022, my ford escape transmission went out due to torque converter. It just broke down without any indict light warning. I paid almost 6K to have it replaced include all transmission programming, controller. In May 2023 and June 2023, my ford escape just quit for no reason without any warning. I tried to start it up, the dashboard of red battery and red oil light came on. I was stuck in traffic for over 4 hours with this problem. It put me in critical risk being injured or killed since I am deaf. It just shut off completely without any noise or foul smelling or any warning. I brought it to several shop for this problem and they found no problem. They are clueless. They tried to blame on transmission. I refuse to pay 6-7K for transmission again. Ford need to step up and own up their problem, and correct the problem.

While driving down the road my Ford escape lost most of its power while still in drive and running (was running at roughly 6000-7000rpms but going no faster than 15 MPH, when after about a mile of this it completely died, lost any ability to brake or steer, then the engine started smoking very bad and within seconds we saw flames coming up onto the windshield from under the hood. within about 10 minutes the entire car was engulfed in flames and totally destroyed/melted/burned.
on numerous ocassions recently the power steering has become disabled and/or unresponsive i am getting a steering assist light when it happens it is intermittent and i fear it will occur at high speed resulting in injury or death
The vehicle will get a steering assist fault message and go into limp mode immediately giving you no time to pull to the side of the road. Please make ford do something about the steering issues on these vehicles. These escapes are too dangerous to drive.

I do not use sport mode. I then called the local dealership. I learned it was a recall on the shifter bushing. They called a tow truck who came out and picked it up. The tow driver stated it was in fact the bushing was damaged/missing. He manually put it in the gears so that he could load it and took it to the dealership. They fixed the recall and are waiting to hear if the tow fee is covered under the recall so that I can go pick it up.
It seems like my transmission kicked out on me in the middle of a busy intersection. Now my car is stuck at work while I figure out where to take it and how to pay for transmission repairs.
Car is burning and leaking coolant dude to faulty head gasket and engine over heating. Engine also stalls out when slowing down and shuts off. I see multiple people are having the same issues. This has been a on going thing I took it to the shop to have coolant leak fixed and it still has reoccurred.
I see there was a previous recall on the ford smaller eco boost engines. I am having the same issues with coolant leaks and head gasket. Not only me but hundreds of other owners have having the same exact issue of coolant leaking and head gasket going bad.

Contacted Ford again fourth time about saftey recall=20S30/20V331. I've been trying to get this fixed since i got the vehicle and recall letters from Ford. Multiple failed attempts because dealership's in my area stood me up, told me they dont do recalls, and said it was basically my fault for buying Ford. Ford customer service is no help, all they say is get in touch with my local dealership's to get it resolved. Duh!! Thats what I've been trying to do, then they give me contact details for dealerships that already stood me up and who said they cant fix the recall. So why bother. Unbelievable, i might as well just contact the dealership i purchased from and surrender the vehicle. Never will i buy Ford again!! Their customer service is lousy!

Ive been trying to get my local Ford dealer to fix this saftey recall but have just been ignored. First time i called my local dealer (Boggus Ford) in harlingen, TX, they just changed there name to Sames Harlingen Ford. They made a mobile appointment for me in April 21st at 9am, no one showed up i didn't even get a call. I called them to see why no one showed up. They told me my appointment was at the dealership and i didn't show up. I was angry and mad because they just lied to me, i have the texts from the dealership service team and a automated reminder that my appointment was mobile at 9am. I said get me another appt, the next appt was on the 26th of April at 9am it was mobile. Then the night of the 25th i get a notification that my appointment tomorrow is at the dealership at 8.30 am. I was dumbfounded, thats not what was discussed, it was mobile,(i have the texts) i couldn't go in to the dealership because my husband was working on the tires. So another missed appt by the dealership's error not mine. I called again no one answers me. I decided to contact Ford customer service directly, they said they will get in touch with another local Ford dealer to fix my saftey recall but, didnt get a reply back. I contacted Ford again same thing, no reply. In the mean time my doirs fling open when on the highway. First time was a scare, sone of my things in the car flew out. Good thing no one got hurt. And lots of times i see my door open out of nowhere. But now i have to physically tie the doors inside so they wont fling open. Either that or not drive it, which means i cant work. Ive contacted another Ford dealer near me and they said they dont do saftey recalls, so i guess im left with defective doors. I just want this recall fixed!
Transmission failure. Problem confirmed by dealer and two other certified mechanics, in 2022 and 2023. No warning lights or messages given on dashboard. Technicians found codes when vehicle was scanned. Problem only become noticeable when driving vehicle by then it was to late. Transmission would not shift properly coming to stops and trying to accelerate after stops or very minimal speed slowing or accelerating. This occurred on interstate and local driving. First occurrence was December of 2021at around 68,000 to 70,000 miles. Had transmission repaired and was told by mechanic they were problematic and it was a design flaw. Dealer admitted to problematic issue also. Second occurrence was March of 2023 with 77,000. I am currently trying to decide what to do. It is currently available for inspection. I made a formal complaint against Ford to the BBB in 2021 about this issue and they would not offer any assistance. I will make another complaint as of April 2023. I will no longer buy any Ford products.

While driving the vehicle randomly het steering assist fault service required and goes immediately into limp mode. This is very dangerous and you need to try to pull over immediately, because the car loses power immediately. This is my teenage drivers car and she can no longer drive it. We are to scared she will get into an accident. Please make Ford do something with a recall for the steering assist issues in these escapes
Anytime car is shifted out of Park or into Reverse, it pops up with a message on the dash saying the Parking Collision isnt working and the back up camera doesnt come on and the backup sensors no longer work either.
