I started noticing coolant leakage. Then while driving I have been getting a warning say “engine to hot stop vehicle immediately safely.” Then from there it would go into another warning. This 1 saying “vehicle will not operate at full power.” And the car would not go past 40mhp. I was thinking of fixing myself and started to research parts. I then came across this class action suit against Ford and my vehicle for the same issue I’m having and how it is causing engine fires. I contact Ford and basically got told there is nothing they can do. I’m including the class action case with this also. Steering assist failed with no Warning (message came on when it happened). There had been no warnings at all prior and the day before I had transported my granddaughter to her riding lesson via freeway and side roads with no problems. This day I backed out of my driveway for quick trip to the store and when I went to pull forward and straighten the car into my lane, steering became very, very stiff, requiring all my strength to pull into position. In researching this problem we found that this is an ongoing problem with Fords design. I had my car towed to my mechanic who scanned the codes, inspected the electronic steering gear, fuse. They had to remove and replace the complete steering gear. Total cost was $2,028.81 My main complaint is that even though Ford maintains we have the ability to continue to steer the car, it is very difficult and I feel should this happen under the right conditions a driver and the passengers could end up seriously injured or worse. Again NO WARNING prior to loosing the power assist. Had I lost my steering in freeway traffic I don't know that I would have been able to get to a safe spot to get off the road.

Suddenly while driving and making a right turn the steering locked up, the car jerked to the left into oncoming traffic. The "steering assist needs service" indicator light on the dash came on and then went off. As I looked for a safe place to pull over the car continually jerked from right to left and I had to keep pulling on the wheel to keep it straight. I phoned Gary Yeoman Ford in Daytona Beach Fl to check for recalls and was told there were none. I called Ford Motor Company in Dearborn Michigan, customer complaints and spoke to a representative and was told there was nothing they could do. I then asked to speak to a supervisor and spoke to "Supervisor Angel" and was told the same. This car has less than 40,000 miles on it and this should not be happening. This is very dangerous and could have caused a very serious accident. There have been other recalls for this same problem, but not for the year 2015. I looked online and there are other complaints involving the same power steering problem on these Ford Escapes. It is now in the shop for repairs at my expense! Est $1400
The contact owns a 2015 Ford Escape. The contact stated that on multiple occasions, the vehicle rolled forward while the gear shifter was in park(P). Additionally, the contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact stated while cold starting the vehicle, the vehicle hesitated upon depression of the accelerator pedal. The contact then received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V413000 (Power Train) however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The manufacturer had been notified of the issue. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the repair. The failure mileage was approximately 58,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
Transmission repair $6875.00 by Covert Ford Hutto. Purchased 08/27/2018 mileage 110047 Transmission repair of $6875.00 reporting hopefully I will be the one who achieve the threshold to get a recall for transmission. Ford is telling me I will get a 3 year warranty and free replacement if it happens again but I am spending $6875.00 hopefully this helps.
On 5/22/2021 when I was pulling into the parking space in front of my house my 2015 Ford Escape accelerated on its own, jumping the railroad tie at the edge of the parking lot and on to the front yard – fortunately the car stopped when I applied the break only less than five feet from the front of my house. I put the car in reverse and removed my front from the break and the car accelerated on its own again. I applied the break again and it stopped, thankfully there were no other cars in the parking lot at that time. On 5/24/2021 I called the Ford dealership where I purchased the vehicle, the service advisor said they were not aware of this issue. I had the vehicle towed to the dealership that day as I was concerned that the issue would reoccur ($80.00). The service advisor called on Wednesday and stated there were no codes on the computer related to acceleration but there were codes for the transmission. They were able to overhaul the transmission, $3999.41; there was only 38,384 miles on the vehicle, I have always been a responsible owner and maintained all of my vehicles - I have no doubt this was a defect. I had no other issues with this vehicle prior to that day.
The contact owns a 2015 Ford Escape. The contact stated while driving approximately 30 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power with the engine revving loudly prior to the vehicle stalling. The contact stated that the transmission warning light was illuminated. The contact had the vehicle towed to her residence where it was observed that after shifting into park(P), the vehicle rolled forward. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer who diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact later researched online and related the roll away failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V413000 (Power Train). Additionally, the vehicle had begun to rev up when the accelerator was depressed however, the vehicle failed to respond. The vehicle had not been taken back to the dealer to be diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 63,000.
AS I WAS DRIVING MY CAR ABOUT 45-50MPH , IT STARTED TO SPUTTER, THEN THE RPMS SHOT UP AND I COULD'T ACCELERATE, LOST SPEED. MY TRANSMISSION FAILURE LIGHT CAME ON. I PULLED OVER AND PUT IT IN PARK. I WAS VERY CLOSE TO HOME SO I TRIED TO DRIVE TO MAKE IT HOME AND NOT BE STRANDED A MILE FROM HOME. IT DID IT AGAIN, THEN MY TRANSMISSION FAILURE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN. IT ALSO WOULDN'T GO INTO REVERSE, IT WOULD JUST REV UP. IT WOULD ONLY GO INTO REVERESE AFTER I PUT IT IN PARK A COUPLE TIMES. IF I TURNED THE CAR OFF, THEN ON, I COULD GO A FEW FEET BEFORE IT WOULD JUST REV UP AND COULDN'T ACCELERATE. ITS MAKING A LOUD WINING NOISE. I HAD IT TOWED TO LEONARDTOWN FORD.
THE SHIFTER BUSHING RECALL IS NOT SHOWING FOR MY VEHICLE, BUT HAS THE SAME ISSUE AS THE RECALL.THEVEHICLE IS SAYING THAT IT'S NOT IN PARK BUT IT IS, THE SHIFTER WILL NOT OPERATE, AND ALL GEARS ARE SHOWING IN REVERSE. I WAS DRIVING AND WAS GOING TO STOP AND GO IN REVERSE WHEN THE SHIFTER WAS STUCK.
Vehicle while driving seemed to not shift gears properly.took to dealer 4 months after purchased.they said could not find anything.but did find coolant hose needed replaced.i paid for that.still had the same problem.took vehicle to second dealer found turbo boost loosing power.they fixed that I paid for but still not shifting properly.now my engine started knocking I took to mechanic he said it's the transmission and now the engine block cracked where it connects to transmission.i feel this shifting issue has caused engine issues.ford will not help me.

THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE ELECTRONIC STEERING GEAR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT YET REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE HOWEVER, NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 85,398. THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE ABRUPTLY LOSES POWER WITHOUT WARNING. THE CAR REPAIRS AMOUNTED TO $2150 AND HAD TO BE TOWED TO BYERLY 2 ADDITIONAL TIMES FOR THE SAME ISSUE.

THE CONTACT BECAME AWARE THAT THE SHIFTER CABLE AND BUSHINGS HAD FRACTURED AND DETACHED FROM THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT CONTACTED ANDERSON FORD LINCOLN OF ST. JOSEPH (2207 N BELT HWY, ST JOSEPH, MO 64506, (866)922-2141) WHO CONFIRMED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT UNDER RECALL. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE CABLE BUSHING NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 122,000.
STEERING ASSIST SERVICE REQUIRED LIGHT CAME UP ON THE WAY HOME FROM DOCTORS APPOINTMENT, STEERING WHEEL GOT HARD WENT OFF ROAD FOR A LITTLE BIT BUT GOT BACK ON THE ROAD. STEERING GETS HARD AFTER I HIT GAS ONLY WORKS FINE WHEN I'M NOT HITTING THE GAS OR IN NEUTRAL

THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE STARTED WHINING, THEN LOST MOST OF POWER AND SHIFTED BY SELF INTO NEUTRAL GEAR ON TRANSMISSION AND CAME TO COMPLETE STOP (NOT THE INSIDE OF VEHICLE SHIFTER) AND WOULD’T DRIVE. THE CONTACT STATED NO WARNING LIGHTS WERE ILLUMINATED AT THIS TIME. CONTACT THEN PUT VEHICLE INTO NEUTRAL VIA SHIFTER AND GAVE VEHICLE SOME GAS AND THEN PUT VEHICLE IN DRIVE POSITION AND SHIFTED HARD WITH A BIG THUMP BUT THEN DROVE FOR FEW MOMENTS WHILE TURNING AT A LIGHT BUT WOULDN’T ENGAGE PAST 1st GEAR. AT THAT TIME THE WARNING LIGHT FINALLY APPEARED AND BEGAN FLASHING FAULTY TRANSMISSION AND AUTOMATICALLY SHIFTED BACK INTO NEAUTRAL GEAR AND STOPPED. AGAIN CONTACT PLACED VEHICLE INTO NEUTRAL GEAR, GAVE SOME GAS AND PUT BACK INTO DRIVE POSITION AND AGAIN TRANSMISSION SHIFTED WITH ANOTHER THUMP INTO GEAR BUT STILL NOT PAST 1st GEAR. CONTACT WAS WITHIN COUPLE BLOCKS FROM HOME SO SAFELY REPEATING PRIOR STEPS GOT VEHICLE HOME SAFELY. VEHICLE HAD BEEN MAINTAIN AND ALL FLUID LEVELS AND INDICATORS WERE UP TO DATE. CONTACT HAD HER HUSBAND CHECK VEHICLE AND DRAINED AND CHANGED THE TRANSMISSION FLUID. FLUID WAS CLEAN AND NO FOREIGN PARTICLES OR METAL IN FLUID. TEST DROVE VEHICLE AROUND BLOCK AND WHINING WAS STILL THERE AND THEN WOULD ONLY DRIVE FORWARD AND NOT REVERSE. CONTACT THEN HAD VEHICLE TOWED TO TUTTLE-CLICK FORD LINCOLN (43 AUTO CENTER DR, IRVINE, CA 92618) FOR A DIAGNOSTIC CHECK. EVEN THE TOW DRIVER STATED HE HAD JUST RECENTLY TOWED SEVERAL OTHERS DUE TO THE SAME ISSUE. CONTACT WAS TOLD BY FORD DEALERSHIP THAT TRANSMISSION CHECK AND MAINTANENCE IS 120K MILES ON THESE VEHICLES. IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH THE HALFSHAFT CENTER BEARING COMPLETELY WORN, RETAINER TIGHT BUT SINCE BEARING IS WORN, HALFSHAFT SLIDES OUT OF TRANS. THAT COULD EXPLAIN NO ENGAGEMENT IF HALFSHAFT SLID OUT. TORQUE COULD NOT BE TRANSFERRED TO OTHER AXLE DUE TO TRACTION CONTROL NOT ALLOWING ONE TO SPIN MORE THAN THE OTHER. DEALERSHIP RECOMMENDED FIRST REPLACE HALFSHAFT, THEN MAYBE ADDRESS TRANSMISSION NOISE AND ALSO CLAIMED THIS ESCAPE IS LEAKING COOLANT FROM THE COOLANT TANK AND OIL FROM THE VALVE COVER ALSO UPPER RIGHT TRANSMISSION ENGINE MOUNT IS COLLAPSED. DEALERSHIP STATED COOLANT TANK IS SOLD WITH THE RIGHT UPPER MOUNT. DEALERSHIP ALSO STATED REPAIR HALFSHAFT 1ST BUT WAS MORE LIKELY TRANSMISSION WAS FRIED. THE COLLAPSED MOUNT AND LEAKING COOLANT TANK ETC ARE ALL CAUSED AND RELATED DUE TO THE TRANSMISSION FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT YET REPAIRED. THE FORD MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED BY CONTACT AND INFORMED OF THE FAILURE AND ALSO CONTACT IMFORMED THEM OF THIS CONTINIOUS ISSUE FOUND ON CAR FORUMS FROM 2008 TO PRESENT ON SEVERAL THOUSAND FORD ESCAPES AND ALL HAPPENING SUDDENLY AND AT AROUND 81K MILES OR SOONER. THIS IS A MAJOR HEALTH, SAFETY AND HAZARD ISSUE AND COULD CAUSE IF NOT ALREADY, MAJOR ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES THE SCARIEST PART IS IT HAPPENS SUDDENLY WITHOUT ANY PRE WARNINGS. THESE TRANSMISSIONS NEED TO BE RECALLED AND MAKE FORD FINANCIALLY ACCOUNTABLE FOR REPAIRS DUE TO THEIR POOR MANUFACTURING AND PARTS AND ALLOWING THESE VEHICLES TO PASS QUALITY CONTROL DUE TO SAFETY ISSUES. FORD CUSTOMER RELATIONS INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE WARRANTY FOR POWER TRAN IS 5 YEARS/60K MILES AND WOULD NOT COVER THE REPAIRS AND TO FILE A COMPLAINT WITH NHTSA AS THEYRE THE ONLY ONES THAT CAN RECALL VEHICLES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 81,000. SAME ONGOING PROBLEM FOR YEARS WITH THE FORD ESCAPES.
FORD FAILS TO RECOGNIZE THE COOLANT LEAKING ISSUE WITH THE 1.5L ECOBOOST ENGINE. DID A PATCH JOB FIX 2 YEARS AGO AND FAILED TO REPAIR WHEN TECHNICIANS STATED THE ENGINE NEEDED REPAIRS. THERE IS COOLANT IN THE 4TH CYLINDER OF THE ENGINE FOR THE SECOND TIME IN 2 YEARS.
AFTER DRIVING THE CAR FOR ABOUT 1.5 HOURS, WE STOPPED AT A CONVENIENCE STORE. WHEN WE RESTARTED THE CAR, AN ERROR MESSAGE APPEARED ON THE DRIVERS INFORMATION SCREEN THAT SAID: "STEERING ASSIST FAULT SERVICE REQUIRED" (PLEASE SEE ATTACHED PHOTOS) AND THE VEHICLE HAD LOST POWER STEERING. THIS MADE THE VEHICLE EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO DRIVE BUT WE WERE FORTUNATELY VERY CLOSE TO OUR DESTINATION. THIS WAS THE SECOND TIME THIS ERROR HAD OCCURRED, THE FIRST TIME WAS ON A MUCH LONGER DRIVE BUT AFTER SITTING FOR 10 MINUTES OR SO (VEHICLE OFF) THE ERROR WENT AWAY WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED. THIS TIME, EVEN AFTER LETTING IT SIT OVERNIGHT, THE ERROR HAS NOT GONE AWAY AND THERE IS STILL NO STEERING ASSIST. I HAVE FOUND MANY POSTS ABOUT THIS VERY ISSUE WITH THE FORD ESCAPE VEHICLE (AND OTHER FORD VEHICLES) AND AM VERY SURPRISED THAT THERE IS NOT A RECALL FOR THIS VERY SERIOUS PROBLEM. IF THE LOSS OF POWER STEERING HAD GONE OUT WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS (AS HAS HAPPENED TO OTHERS), THE RESULT COULD HAVE BEEN FATAL. PLEASE TAKE THIS ISSUE VERY SERIOUSLY. THANK YOU.
DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY MY TIRES SLIPPED AND TRIED TO KICK ON TRACTION CONTROL BUT INSTEAD DISABLED MY DRIVING UNTIL I WAS ABLE TO GET OVER AND STOP. TURN THE CAR OFF FOR A COUPLE SECONDS THEN RESTARTED IT BACK ON. DID THAT 3 TIME IN MY WAY INTO WORK. I DIDN'T KNOW IT WAS THE TRACTION CONTROL UNTIL I GOOGLED WHAT HAPPENED AND LOT OF RESPONSES SAID THE TRACTION CONTROL GETS FAULTY. SO NOW EVERY TIME I DRIVE I HAVE TO GO INTO THE SETTINGS AND TURN OFF MY TRACTION CONTROL OR IT CONTINUES TO HAPPEN. LUCKILY NOBODY WAS BEHIND ME.
A PISTON EXPLODED IN MY ENGINE WHILE I WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE.
ON THE DATE OF 04/07/21 I WAS DRIVING ON MY WAY TO WORK, HAD PULLED OUT OF DUNKIN DONUTS AND WENT UP A SMALL HILL TO A STOP SIGN I HAD THE AC ON, AND MY WINDOW ROLLED DOWN AS I JUST LEFT A FAST FOOD RESTAURANT AND AS I GET TO THE TOP OF THE SMALL HILL, MY AC TURNS OFF AND MY CAR DISPLAYS A MESSAGE SAYING TRANSMISSION NOT IN PARK AND IT COMPLETELY SHUTS OFF, I PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND TRIED RESTARTING IT AND NOTHING I HAD DASH LIGHTS EVERYTHING BUT DIDN'T START. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED IN A 2 WEEK PERIOD, THE FIRST TIME IT SHUT OFF AND DISPLAYED A STARTING SYSTEM FAIL MESSAGE TOOK IT TO DEALER AND CANNOT FIGURE OUT THE PROBLEM. COULD THIS BE RELATED TO A RECALL!
The contact owns a 2015 Ford Escape. The contact stated while driving approximately 70 MPH, the "emergency transmission service" warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle lost motive power while depressing the accelerator pedal and the engine revved but the vehicle failed to respond. The contact was able to pull off the roadway and while attempting to shift into park(P), the gear shift lever failed to respond. The contact waited for approximately 30 minutes and the vehicle was able to shift into park(P) and the contact turned off and restarted the vehicle. The contact stated that when he turned the vehicle on and shifted into drive(D) he heard an abnormal banging sound under the floorboard and had the vehicle towed back to the residence. The contact had not taken the vehicle to a dealer or independent mechanic. The vehicle had not been diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 136,000.

I went to start my vehicle and the digital screen on the dash does not work. This is the screen with the digital speedometer, odometer, miles driven and many other digital readouts connected to a “cluster” of wiring within the dash. This is a problem that could not be prevented by me, and is the fault of a faulty manufacturing piece. There is a blank space in the dash where the readouts were. This piece is definitely a safety hazard and should be replaced by Ford. Local dealer told me it was out of warranty therefore my responsibility.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD ESCAPE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS, THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR FAILED TO LATCH AND LOCK AS NEEDED. THE CONTACT CALLED INTERSTATE FORD (125 ALEXANDERSVILLE RD, MIAMISBURG, OH 45342) WHERE HE WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 20V331000 (LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES). AN APPOINTMENT WAS SCHEDULED TO HAVE THE VEHICLE REPAIRED. THE CONTACT'S WIFE CALLED BACK TO CONFIRM THE APPOINTMENT AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT UNDER RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND WAS REFERRED TO NHTSA FOR ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 56,000.
I have been in two accidents since my purchase of the vehicle. I haven’t even had a year. When it’s an emergency and breaks need to be applied suddenly the breaks are locking up and will not go down. It eventually does once I start pumping them. But I was recently in two accident BECAUSE OF THIS ISSUE AND THE PURCHASE OF THIS CAR HAS BECOME MY NIGHTMARE
AFTER FUELING IT WOULD SPUTTER AND ALMOST TURN OFF WHILE STOPPED AT TRAFFIC LIGHTS. MARCH 11 2021 ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND IT DID TURN OFF WHILE AT TRAFFIC LIGHT. TOOK TO MECHANIC DIAGNOSTIC READING WAS PURGE VALVE. 11 MONTHS LATER ENGINE LIGHT IS BACK ON AND DIAGNOSTIC READING WAS PURGE VALVE

The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the contact was informed that the instrument cluster needed to be replaced; however, the VIN was not under recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and notified of the failure. The contact was informed that the VIN was not under recall and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The approximate failure mileage was 60,000.
I PARKED MY CAR TO GET CURVE-SIDE PICKUP FOR PIZZA. THE ENGINE WAS STILL ON. WHEN ATTEMPTED TO BACK OUT OF THE PARKING SPACE, THE STEERING WHEEL REFUSED TO TURN. I TRIED TURNING OFF THE CAR, MAKING SURE EVERYTHING WAS OFF (EMERGENCY BREAK, RADIO, ETC). WHEN I STARTED THE CAR AGAIN, I PUT THE CAR IN REVERSE, AND THE STEERING WHEEL WAS STUCK AS IF IT WAS A BEE STUCK IN MOLLASSES. I SLOWLY BACKED THE CAR UP TO SEE IF IT WOULD LOOSEN AND IT DIDNT. STRANDED AT THE PIZZA PLACE WITH HOT PIZZA IN THE BACK SEAT, I DECIDED TO CALL THE DEALER. I CALLED MY DEALERSHIP AND AS THEY WERE GETTING THE ADDRESS OF THE PIZZA PLACE SO THEY COULD TOW THE CAR, I KEPT PLAYING WITH THE STEERING WHEEL WHICH EVENTUALLY ALLOWED ME TO TURN IT AS IF NOTHING EVER HAPPENED. I AVOIDED THE HIGHWAY AND SLOWLY DROVE HOME WITH THE HAZARD LIGHTS ON AFRAID IT MAY HAPPEN WHILE DRIVING.
MY WIFE WAS DRIVING TO WORK WHEN VEHICLE SUDDENLY SPUTTERED AND LOST POWER. SHE IMMEDIATELY PULLED TO SIDE OF HIGHWAY. HAD VEHICLE TOWED TO GARAGE AND WAS TOLD THE COOLANT VALVE WENT SUDDENLY, CAUSING ENGINE TO OVERHEAT AND ENGINE CYLINDER TO CRACK. VEHICLE HAS ONLY 71000 MILES. THIS IS THE SAME PROBLEM REPORTED FOR 2014 FORD ESCAPES, IN WHICH A RECALL WAS ISSUED. THERE WAS NO RECALL ISSUED FOR 2015 ESCAPES DEALING WITH THIS SITUATION.

DRIVERS SEATBELT DOESN'T LATCH PROPERLY. I HAVE TO KEEP PULLIN THE SEAT BUCKLE IN AND OUT SEVERAL TIMES UNTIL IT FINALLY LATCHES. THIS OCCURS PRETTY MUCH EVERY TIME I PUT ON THE SEATBELT. On 12/29/2020, Angela was driving the 2015 Ford Escape with Mileage at 133926 in Beverly WV on the main street of 219/250 and the Escape suddenly lost power and slowed down to 30mph and the vehicle shuddered and shook. It picked up speed again for about 30 seconds and then lost power again, this continued for about 2 minutes and then the Escape stopped moving in the middle of the highway in front of the Elementary School and the dash stated “Transmission Fault/Service Now” and Angela was suddenly stranded on the busy highway. Her husband Johnie drove his truck to the area where the Escape was setting and engine was still running but had no power to move. He turned the ignition off and restarted the Escape, the message was gone and vehicle ran and moved fine for about 30 seconds and then did the same actions again with shuddering , shaking, lose of power and “Transmission Fault/Service Now” on the dash. The vehicle had to be towed to Elkins Fordland, Inc in Elkins WV. On 12/30/2020 Elkins Fordland ran the diagnostic on the Escape at the cost of $111.30, they observed transmission pump making whinning noise and vehicle wouldn’t move, recommended new transmission per code (See attached documents and Bills for diagnostic test and replacement of transmission). On 01/01/2021 to 01/15/2021 Elkins Fordland, Inc had the Escape for transmission replacement. The cost to replace the transmission in the 2015 Ford Escape at Mileage 133926 was $5294.10 after tax. This is a Safety Issue due to the no warning of Transmission Fault and the sudden loss of power in the busy highway. The total cost of diagnostic test and replacement of the transmission was; $111.30 diagnostic $5,294.10 transmission Total Cost $5405.40 I have attached copies of the diagnostic and replacement paperwork.
I LEFT THE CAR ON SINCE MY DAUGHTER AND HUSBAND WERE IN THE CAR. WHEN I CAME BACK OUT FROM THE STORE, I TRIED TO PUT THE CAR IN DRIVE BUT IT WOULD NOT LET ME. LUCKILY WE WERE IN A PARKING LOT OF A DOLLAR TREE.
I NOTICED THAT MY HEAT STOPPED WORKING WHILE IDLING. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH, I CHECKED THE ENGINE COOLANT LEVELS AND DISCOVERED MY ENGINE COOLANT WAS PRETTY LOW. I FILLED THE COOLANT AND THE ISSUE WAS FIXED. A FEW DAYS LATER; HOWEVER, I NOTICED THE ISSUE AGAIN. UPON CHECKING MY COOLANT LEVEL AGAIN, I SAW THAT THE LEVEL HAD DROPPED AGAIN. I CHECKED EVERYWHERE FOR LEAKS BUT SAW NONE. I THEN BROUGHT MY CAR TO A MECHANIC WHO ALSO CHECKED FOR LEAKS. HE TOLD ME THERE WERE NO EXTERNAL LEAKS. THE COOLANT WAS LEAKING INTO ENGINE, A COMMON PROBLEM THEY SEE WITH FORD VEHICLES. THEY TOLD ME IT WAS NOT WORTH IT TO FIX THE PROBLEM, AND THAT I WAS BETTER OFF TRADING IT IN FOR A NEW CAR. I'M SO UPSET BECAUSE I TOOK EXCEPTIONAL CARE OF MY VEHICLE AND NOW NEED TO CAR SHOP DURING A PANDEMIC WITH POOR CREDIT DUE TO PANDEMIC CIRCUMSTANCES. THIS IS NOT RIGHT THAT THE COMPANY WILL TAKE NO OWNERSHIP OVER THE ISSUES AND PUTS IT ON THE CUSTOMER TO DEAL WITH THE ISSUES.

I WAS NOT IN A SAFE SPOT SO I DECIDED TO TRY TO DRIVE THE CAR TO A ROAD OFF THE MAIN ROAD WHEN I DID THIS THE CAR WAS NOT EVEN ALLOWING ME TO ACCELERATE. I SAT THERE HOPING NO ONE HIT ME TURNED THE CAR OFF AND THEN IT WAS DRIVABLE AGAIN. I HAD IT TOWED TO MY HOUSE AS COVID MECHANICS WERE CLOSED FOR THE WEEKEND. I THEN HAD IT TOWED TO A MECHANIC WHO WAS TRUSTED WHO MENTIONED IT WAS THE TRANSMISSION, WHICH MY CAR DOESNT EVEN HAVE 100,000. I DID NOT HAVE IT FIXED THERE AS I TOOK IT TO FROD NOW TO HAVE A LOOK THEY WANTED ME TO PAY 1400$ TO JUST OPEN THE TRANSMISSION WHEN THEY ALREADY KNEW IT WAS THE TRANSMISSION. I IMMEDIATELY CALLED FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE AND EXPLAINED THAT THEY STAND BUY THERE RELIABILITY AS THEY MENTION THAT ALL THERE CARS ARE AND EXPLAINED THAT WAS ONE OF THE REASONS I PURCHASED MY CAR HOWEVER, THEIR RELIABILITY HAS FAILED!!! I THEN SAID THEY ALSO MENTION THAT THEY HAVE GREAT CUSTOMER SATISFACTION AND AIM TO PLEASE THEIR CUSTOMERS. SO I ASKED FOR A GOODWILL SINCE THE RELAIBILTY FAILED. I HAVE BEEN PUSHED AROUND AND GONE IN CIRCLES WITH THE PERSON WHOM HAS OPENED MY CLAIM# AND HAVE BEEN ON THE PHONE FOR MULTIPLE DAYS ON MULTIPLE ACCOUNTS AND HAVE GOTTEN NO FEEDBACK. ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS THE OIL, BATTERY AND CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHTS WERE ILLUMINATED. AFTER TURNING OFF AND RESTARTING THE VEHICLE, THE WARNING LIGHTS WERE NO LONGER DISPLAYED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BOGGUS FORD MCALLEN (1400 E EXPRESSWAY 83, MCALLEN, TX 78501) TO BE DIAGNOSED HOWEVER, THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO RETRIEVE A FAULT CODE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 130,000.

PURCHASED A NEW 2015 ESCAPE HAVE HAD IT IN THE DEALER MULTI TIMES FOR TURBO REPLACEMENT AND THE HEADS REPLACED. WAS SMELLING COOLANT IN THE CAR TOOK IT TO THE SAME DEALER FOR REPAIR. THAT WAS OVER 7 WEEKS AGO. FORDS WILL NOT APPROVE THE REPAIR THAT WAS CAUSED BY THE COOLANT LEAKING INTO THE ENGINE. I HAVE A ACTIVE POWERTRAIN AND FORD ESP WARRANTY.
