The drivers side seat belt won't retract like it should. It's very slow and getting worse. Ford won't fix it. I'm not going to drive it until I can get it fixed because I feel that vehicle is unsafe to drive.
Vehicle involved in collision on major highway with two other vehicles. Given speed and impact of collision very surprised that the air bags did not deploy.
My seatbelt wont latch properly and also when it does latch will come unlatched without pushing any button
Driver seat belt will not latch, takes several tries to finally latch in place. SAFTEY CONCERN!
The contact owns a 2018 Ford Escape. The contact stated while adjusting the front driver’s side seat to the driver's height, the seat belt rubbed against the seat belt retractor located on the driver side door. As a result of the failure, the front driver’s seat belt started to shred after multiple seat adjustments. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 58,000.
The passenger side seat belt anchor bolt which fastens the bottom of the seat belt to the vehicle failed. The anchor bolt rotted on the interior of the vehicle. We had no warning of any kind. Vehicle was taken to dealer where we purchased it and looked at. This is when we were informed that this failure would not be covered by any type of warranty. We were informed that the vehicle was past it's base warranty and that the extended warranty, which we purchased, would not cover the seat belt. Luckily this failed in the morning when my wife was leaving to take our daughter to school and go to work, so the vehicle was not in motion. We contacted Ford numerous times and were informed that the seat belt would not be covered.
Seatbelt on the passenger side did not stop me from hitting the dash board and the air bags did not deploy. Was rearend while waiting to get off an of ramp.
I was in a head on collision where my vehicle went off the road and hit a guard rail head on. My vehicle was totaled but not a single air bag deployed. If I was not wearing my seat belt I could have been ejected from the vehicle. There were no warning lights of any kind shown. It was raining and wet out during the day.
FMVSS 208 has a lockability standard. The outboard seatbelts in this vehicle do not switch over to a locked mode for car seats as required by law, I have video I can send on the seatbelts. The video would not attach to this report.
THE REAR SEAT BELT BUCKLE (DRIVER SIDE) IS NOT HOLDING THE BELT, DAMAGED
HAD A HEAD ON COLLISION AND THE AIR BAGS DIDN'T DEFLATE.
THE RIGHT REAR SEAT BELT HAS NEVER WORKED. IT HAS BEEN LOCKED SINCE I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE. I FOUND OUT ABOUT IT A FEW WEEKS AFTE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE WHEN MY GREAT GRANDDAUGHTER GOT IN THE BACK SEAT AND IT DIDN'T WORK. I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME THEY WOULD ORDER A NEW ONE. THAT WAS SEVERAL WEEKS AGO AND I HAVEN'T HEARD ANYTHING FROM THEM, SO I CALLED THEM THIS MORNING BECAUSE I WANT TO MAKE A TRIP NEXT WEEK AND PEOPLE WILL BE IN MY BACK SEAT. THEY ACTED LIKE THEY DIDN'T KNOW WHAT I WAS TALKING ABOUT. I ALWAYS TALK WITH THE SAME TWO PEOPLE.
BOUGHT THE VEHICLE ON THE 24TH OF APRIL 2018. HAD A COLLISION WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE TRAVELING THE SPEED LIMIT OF 60 MILES AN HOUR. I REAR ENDED THE OTHER VEHICLE AFTER THE BRAKES LOCKED UP AND I DID NOT STOP. THE AIRBAGS ALSO DID NOT DEPLOY. THE ENTIRE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE WAS PUSHED IN DUE TO THE COLLISION. IT WAS JUST CONSIDERED A TOTAL LOSS AND NOW I DON'T HAVE A VEHICLE BECAUSE OF FAULTY MANUFACTURING.
