Sunroof shade blocking rear visibility when open, when open it’s not rolling up into cavity
I completed my 70,000 maintenance on my vehicle on Monday. Friday when I got in my car after shopping, the dash light for parking brake kept coming on. When I put it in drive, the engine light, park assist light, collision assist light, and multiple warning lights kept cycling on my car’s screen. I drove back to the dealership and they kept the car from Friday morning until Monday afternoon before a diagnosis was handed to me. The write up states that the vehicle is “is slipping in every gear” due to “internal mechanical failure.” I am at 70,000 miles and I purchased that car on Jan 4, 2021. Therefore I am out of warranty. I have only had the dealer work on my car except for purchasing tires from an outside source. This is a catastrophic failure of a part that should not be failing. The tech is not even guaranteeing that this will fix the problem.
UNKNOWN December 25th, 2025, my vehicle started to shift poorly, breaking very harshly, giving a clonking sound when putting the vehicle into any gear, and when putting it into reverse, the car rocked roughly and threw a wrench light onto the dash. That wrench light gave a torque converter/transmission code. I took it to a dealership to get it diagnosed and they told me nothing was wrong with it and that it is driving as it should. I took it to a different shop for a second opinion and as soon as my vehicle was in the air, the Mechanic found that ALL of my mounts were bad, I had a transmission leak and might possibly have a bad torque converter. My safety as well as my [XXX] daughters was put at risk from the dealership not doing a thorough diagnostic on my vehicle. My vehicle has been in the shop since December due to the turbocharger needing to be replaced. Through this site I found the fuel injector recall which I had to fight ford to evaluate. My vehicle had 2 cracked fuel injectors. I have been fighting with ford that everything I read states that this can damage the turbocharger. I am not sure if this is theright organization to look for help but I need to try.
While driving and idling, strong exhaust fumes enter the cabin, especially when the vehicle is in park or stopped at a traffic light. Air recirculation shuts off by itself and the airflow is very weak even on high settings. Remote start caused the cabin to fill with fumes before entering the vehicle, leading to headache and difficulty breathing within minutes. Symptoms are consistent with carbon monoxide exposure. Cabin and engine air filter is brand new. Just replaced 12/13/2025. Fumes are significantly worse at idle, suggesting an exhaust manifold crack or turbo exhaust leak. This is a serious safety hazard, and I am concerned about carbon monoxide poisoning and risk of losing consciousness while driving. It was so bad I had to have all windows open and the heat off in 30 or below temperature just to breathe. I have a very small child with heart problems and I'm concerned my vehicle is no longer safe to drive.
I exited my 2020 Escape and as I walked around the car to go into my house, as ai was passing the back of my car the Liftgate glass completely shattered. In the days prior I noticed the defroster was not defrosting all the way. I just got this car a month ago. Glass was everywhere thankfully no one was hurt nor were any of my kids in or around the vehicle at the time the window shattered.
For months, I have had restraints indicator lamp warning, specifically for the driver seatbelt buckle sensor circuit, as well as one notification for a fault with the occupant classification system which includes air bags and safety belt buckle pretensioners. It is going to cost over $600 to fix the driver belt alone. As this is part of the safety features of a car, I do not feel as though the consumer should be responsible for this. It seems as though it should fall on that of the manufacturer
The contact owns a 2020 Ford Escape. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the contact heard a loud vibrating sound. No warning lights were illuminated. The contact was unsure where the vibrating sound was coming from. The dealer was made aware of the concern. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, and the contact was informed that parts were not available. The contact had received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V467000 (Fuel System, Gasoline); however, parts were not available for the recall repair. The contact was afraid to drive the vehicle because the vehicle might catch on fire. The contact wanted to return the vehicle back to the dealer due to the safety concerns. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 77,500.
The windshield wipers will slow to an intermittent-type speed while working in either low or high on a wet windshield. Ford had recall 23B35 on the Bronco for this exact issue; the fix was a reflash of the vehicle's windshiel wiper motor.
My vehicle was taking to a ford dealership Dec 8 2020. Diagnosed with transmission problems was told there is no ETA on parts and had to get it delivered to me to avoid them charging storage fees. The car has an unsafe transmission issue and no parts to fix it. My vehicle has 71k miles should not have transmission issues. Ford refuses to help, with a buy back or even the parts or helping in any way
As a firefighter, I find it concerning that this recall has been issued for so long and no resolution has been found. The amount of vehicle fires that I see with reports of it "just starting to smoke, and then was on fire when I pulled over!" can easily be explained by fuel leaking into the hot engine compartment and combusting. This is my wife's primary vehicle, so I do not see it as fair that we have to send her on her way while there is no resolution to a potentially catastrophic issue. These vehicles need to be pulled off the roads before someone dies!
The AWD module failed with less than 60,000 miles on the vehicle. I live in the Northeast and we get some brutal weather, especially snowstorms. I believe this part should be under a broader recall as it was the same grounding issue as reported in the other current recall for a certain production date escape for its awd module this year. I have always owned a four-wheel drive or all-wheel drive vehicle, and we love to take scenic trips especially in winter for something to do. The only inspection of the module was the Tunkhannock ford dealer that replaced it. The system did warn me after filling up with gas that there was an issue. I feel that this could have gone really bad if we had been in lake Seneca, Killington or driving up to Bangor. It is the whole idea of it not working because of a single bad grounding wield that shuts all the traction control off to get stuck out in very little snow... I don't even know if the ABS would react the same under this condition.
Chrome around shifter knob is peeling up causing gashes in drivers fingers. A key function to adjust gears that is causing bodily harm. Chrome tips were addressed on Window nobs due to Sharp Chrome peeling up. Vehicle was inspected by Ford dealership and I was informed it was not included in the recall.
Cabin fills with gasoline fumes when on. Took it to local dealership to have Manufacturer Recall Number25S76, NHTSA Recall Number25V467 repaired. Dealership can reproduce the issue of gasoline fumes filling the cabin, but says they can't repair the vehicle until parts become available. I contacted Ford headquarters in Dearborn, Michigan. Ford headquarters tell me the parts aren't yet available for the recall and they will not be able to assist. The case number for my call with Ford headquarters is XXX. The safety of myself and my children is at risk because LIQUID FUEL AND OR FUEL VAPOR THAT ACCUMULATES NEAR A HOT SURFACE, SUCH AS HOT ENGINE OR EXHAUST COMPONENTS MAY IGNITE RESULTING IN AN UNDER-HOOD FIRE, INCREASING THE RISK OF INJURY according to the recall. Please help. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
I am getting warnings on my dash every day, about TPMS system failure. Sometimes it shows all four tire pressure, sometimes one or two of them will shut off with the warning alarm, sometimes it is all four of them will stop showing. It is intermittent module failure, the sensors in the tire are working. There is a current recall for some of my year/make/model 20S59, but corporate Ford is saying it does not apply to my vehicle. The exact same issue as this recall has happened to my vehicle.
The driver side door is popping and cracking when I open it. It literally sounds like it's going to break and fall off at any moment.
UNKNOWN When I start my car for the 1st time that day & start to back up with my foot on the break, the back end of my vehicle makes a loud groaning sound.
Driver door broke off the hinges and is inoperable The door almost slammed on my child’s hand No warnings
The front driver doors latch has snapped and no longer catches the door. The door clicked every time it opened and shut a few times before a loud pop/crack noise and now it won’t latch properly
The back passenger door is stuck closed and will not open even though the power locks and physical lock, inside and exterior door handles all function as they should. There is currently a customer satisfaction program regarding the front driver side door 23B56 however the local Ford Dealership will not fix the issue because it is not the front door.
At about 95,000 miles, I began experiencing transmission issues. On several occasions, the transmission would not go into second gear and left the vehicle unable to move forward unless I let off the accelerator and it shifted back into first gear. At about 96,000 miles, when placing the vehicle into Park, the Park light would flash and a growling/grinding noise is present for about 5-10 seconds. In my experience, the park light flashing is an indication that the vehicle has not shifted into the Park gear yet. On 11/25/2025, my local Ford dealer confirmed these issues, stating the vehicle had “harsh engage, shift flare 1-2 shift”. The fluid sample was dark and contained metal shavings. The Ford dealer has recommended a complete transmission replacement. The dealer stated they have seen numerous Ford Escapes/Broncos/Mavericks with my model years and mileage experience similar failures. Because the transmission lags between 1st and 2nd gear, the vehicle could be at low speeds during a lag, and may roll back during a lag, causing a collision. Additionally, it is possible that the vehicle may not be properly engaging its parking gear due to these issues, which may leave the vehicle in an unsafe condition.
1. AWD system: sensor in rear axel causing "AWD system fault error". 2. Without the functionality of my AWD system related to this malfunction I am left with a vehicle that can not perform in the conditions that may require AWD, such as deep snow which could result in me crashing. 3. Yes. My car is currently at a Ford certified mechanic. 4. Unknown. 5. "AWD system fault error, service engine soon" as we were driving down the highway toward our home. We took it to the mechanic as soon as they had an opening, which was a week from the error message appearing.
Drivers door check makes loud popping sounds , hard to open door .
My car shut down from a new engine block recall or mandate. Has been in the shop for four months with no eta on when it will be done. This is my only way of transportation.
Summary of Problem: Following the mandatory software update for NHTSA Recall 22V859 (Ford 22S73) on my 2020 Ford Escape 1.5L, the vehicle experienced a catastrophic electrical failure. The vehicle is now subject to the expanded NHTSA Recall 25V467 (Ford 25S76) with a status of 'Remedy Not Available'. Safety Failures: Continuous Overcharging: A multimeter test confirms the alternator is overcharging at 15.5V or higher, posing a severe risk of battery explosion or vehicle fire. Safety System Collapse: The overvoltage has forced multiple safety modules into 'fail-safe' mode, disabling the Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), Traction Control, and AWD Powertrain. Network Communication Failure: Diagnostic reports confirm a U3000 critical control module fault and 'Lost Communication' with the Battery Energy Control Module, indicating a software-induced network collapse. Undriveable Status: The vehicle has been unusable for over 30 days and cannot pass NY State Inspection due to persistent EVAP and module communication codes triggered by the recall update. Dealer Negligence: [XXX] (Dealer #XXX) confirmed that all physical communication lines are functional but refused a free recall-related diagnosis, demanding a $600 fee instead of honoring the federal safety recall mandate. My front driver door started making a loud noise. And every time I would open and close the door I would get resistance. Until it really didn’t want to open or close anymore. It even started to affect my window. It wouldn’t roll down anymore.

The passenger front seat handle to let the seat recline broke off. There has to be some kind of defect to the way it was put together.
NHTSA Recall 25V467 was issued in July 2025. It has been over 3 months of constant fear for under-hood fire from possible fuel injector crack. My family's safety has been at risk long enough, this needs a permanent fix please!

By dong my own research, I found out it was the AWD Module. It's not grounded correctly. There are multiple, long detailed forum posts on this. Here is one: [XXX] I verified my AWD drive module was indeed not getting enough power do to the grounding issue, which sends a cascade of other faults including the anti lock breaks, collision detection, driving modes, cruise control, auto hold, hill park assist. ALL are non-operational. Now my AWD module does not even show up with a OBD scanner. This should be a recall. Took my 2020 Escape into dealer due to recall #23B56/23V502 . Dealer stated that the door needs replacement , this was on Oct 22 ,2025. As of Jan 30 , 2026 Ford has yet to send part. I contacted Ford Customer Service on Jan 26 , 2026 and again on Feb 2, 2026 . They can't give me a date as to when part will arrive .
So I bought this 2020 ford escape at 1100 miles. It was used as a dealership loaner vehicle until I bought it which put its 5 year at 11/19/2025, although I purchased it 12/2+/2020. Which h doesn't make sense. I'm slightly over the 60k/5 yr safety warranty because of it being a loaner vehicle first. I'm over the 60k by 19k, but under my 5 yr warranty. My driver seat belt is malfunctioning, so all my air bags are inactive. I find this very unfair and unsafe as I have 3 children ages [XXX] to [XXX] old. Please tell me there is something we can do thats not going to cost a lot of money. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Catalyst converter just brock while driving. The muffler shop repair said that a lot of other car owner have the same problem, even the dealer salesperson tolls me that they can't keep up with part in stock.
My 2020 Ford Escape's 2.0 ecoboost engine suffered a catastrophic head gasket failure at only 83 thousand miles. This occurred on 10/9/2025 and was confirmed via Ford dealership (Crossroads Ford- Ravena, NY) on 10/13/2025. Prior to 10/9, there were no warning signs or known mechanical issues. The failure happened out of nowhere. In discussing the failure with the Ford service advisor, it was explained that Escape models prior to 2020 have this failure commonly reported, leading to class action lawsuits/coverage from Ford. I am reporting my occurrence so it can be documented in hopes of Ford being held accountable in the future. Such poor product quality can not only endanger the lives of customers but also cause great economic impact to customers and their families.

In my Ford 2020 Escape Hybrid Titanium AWD car, Sunroof shade got misaligned and not closing anymore, resulting in more heat flowing into the car creating impacts inside. Also, as per others comments and online forums, there is a chance that this shade would fall on the passengers during the drive if not taken care quickly, resulting in injuries in adults and deaths in infants. Reached to a Ford dealership to fix this issue and its costing me close to $3000. As its a design flaw from Ford, I request Ford to do a fix for free of charge or recall and fix it for their customers and address their safety concerns immediately. Appreciate your looking into this matter.
Moonroof/sunroof shade came off tracks upon normal use (opening) and is loose. The shade falling down impairs visibility of the road.
