1) ENGINE WOULD STALL OR COMPLETELY QUIT GOING DOWN THE ROAD IN TRAFFIC ANY WERE IT WANTED 2)CAM SHAFT POSITION SENSOR WAS GOING OUT TRUCK WOULD STALL 3)FORD SERVICE DEPARTMENT CHANGED CAM SHAFT POSITION SENSOR. *TR
WHILE DRIVING, THE CONSUMER WAS INFORMED BY A POLICE OFFICER THAT THE TAIL LIGHTS AND BRAKE LIGHTS WERE INOPERATIVE. THE CONSUMER ALSO STATED THE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR WAS INOPERATIVE AND THERE WAS A RECALL ON BOTH PROBLEMS. *JB
THIS IS A 2000 FORD EXCURSION LIMITED 4X4, V-10. THE TRUCK HAS 38,000 MILES AND IS WELL MAINTAINED. THERE WERE NO SIGNS OF LEAKING PRIOR TO FAILURE. THE ONLY SYMPTOMS WAS A "KNOCK" INTERMITTENTLY SEVERAL THOUSAND MILES PRIOR TO FAILURE, BUT NO CAUSE FOR THE SOUND COULD BE FOUND ON INSPECTION. AT THE TIME OF FAILURE, THE U-JOINT AT THE END OF THE AXLE SHAFT HAD 1/4" FREE PLAY IN IT IN ALL DIRECTIONS AND CAME WITHIN 1/4" OF HITTING THE BOLT/NUT ASSEMBLY JUST BELOW IT. THAT NUT HOLDS THE LOWER PORTION OF THE WHEEL SPINDLE BRACKET IN PLACE. THIS IS A POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS SITUATION BECAUSE IF THE BOLT WAS HIT BY THE U-JOINT WITH ENOUGH FORCE, IT COULD SHEAR OFF CAUSING THE WHEEL TO COME OFF OF THE VEHICLE AND LEAD TO A CRASH. THE VEHICLE IS AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIR. HOWEVER, SINCE THE ACTUAL FAILURE HAPPENED AFTER THE 36,000 MILE MARK NEITHER THE DEALER NOR FORD WILL PAY FOR ANY PART OF THE REPAIR. BOTH FORD AND THE DEALER SERVICE DEPARTMENT, DO NOT KNOW WHY THE BEARING FAILED. NOR DO THEY KNOW OF ANY PREVENTIVE MEASURES. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN OFF ROADING BEYOND DIRT ROADS AND IS RUNNING STOCK SIZED TIRES.*AK
WHILE DRIVING AT 50MPH AND WITH NO WARNING RIGHT FRONT TIRE TREAD SEPARATED, CONSUMER HAD TO PULL OVER. FIRESTONE, STEEL TEX, SIZE LT265/75R16, DOT#119116R.*AK
VEHICLE PULLS LEFT WHILE BRAKING, AND PAINT IS PEELING IN THE WHEEL WELLS.*MR THE PROBLEM WAS CONFIRMED BY THE DEALER'S TECHNICIAN WHO MADE RECOMMENDATIONS TO CORRECT THE PROBLEMS. DUE TO THE EXCESSIVE COST THE CONSUMER DECIDED TO HAVE THE VEHICLE REPAIRED AT A LOCAL REPAIR SHOP. THE REPAIR SHOP CORRECTED THE PROBLEM THAT THE DEALER RECOMMENDED BUT THAT DID NOT RESOLVE THE ISSUE. THE VEHICLE WAS RETURNED TO THE DEALER WHO EXPLAINED THAT THE REPAIR WOULD BE COSTLY. THE CONSUMER LATER RECEIVED A SERVICE BULLETIN (03-19-10 DATED SEPTEMBER 9, 2003) WHICH WAS IN REFERENCE TO A BRAKING PROBLEM. THE CONSUMER DOES NOT FEEL COMFORTABLE DRIVING THE VEHICLE. *NM
A RAT OR A SQUIRREL CHEWED UP THE FUEL LINE, CAUSING FUEL TO LEAK. DEALER NOTIFIED. *AK THE FUEL LINE WAS REDESIGNED BY FORD. *PH *JB
I HAVE A 2000 FORD EXCURSION THAT HAS FIRESTONE TIRES ON IT THAT WERE STOCK FROM THE FACTORY. THEY HAVE 1/4" OF TREAT LEFT AND WERE PROPERLY INFLATED. I WAS TRAVELING ON THE INTERSTATE AND THE TREAD OFF THE RIGHT REAR TIRE CAME OFF. I SLOWED AND STOPPED AS QUICK AS I COULD. THE TREAD BENT THE BOTTOM 8" OF THE REAR QUARTER PANEL UP UNDER THE TRUCK AND DENTED AND SCRATCHED IT ALL OVER THE REAR PANEL. IT ALSO BROKE OUT THE REAR TAIL LIGHT. I HAVENT RECEIVED A ESTIMATE YET BUT QUESS IT WILL BE BETWEEN 1500 TO $2000 DOLLARS DAMAGE TO MY VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS LOSING CONTROL BUT I AM A TRAINED EMERGENCY VEHICLE OPERATOR/VETERAN POLICE OFFICER OF 17 YEARS. MY DRIVING ABILITIES ENABLED ME TO MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. *AK
LEFT FRONT TIRE BLOW OUT....MY WIFE SHARON SERNE WAS DRIVING EAST ON HWY 50 COMING UP TO THE ELDORADO HILLS EXIT WHEN OUT OF NO WARE THE LEFT FRONT TIRE (FIRESTONE RS4 LT265-75-16) OF OUR 2000 FORD EXCURSION BLEW OUT, SHE WAS PULLED HARD INTO THE CENTER GUARDRAIL AND DID EXTENSIVE DAMAGE TO THE ENTIRE LEFT SIDE OF OUR VEHICLE. SHARON DID A GREAT JOB ON AVOIDING ANY OTHER PERSONS OR DOING FURTHER DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE AS IN ROLLING OR GOING OVER THE EMBANKMENT THAT WAS UP AHEAD. WHEN WE BOUGHT THE VEHICLE I LOOKED INTO THE FIRESTONE TIRE PROBLEMS JUST FOR THIS KIND OF CONCERN AND AT THE TIME COULD NOT FIND ANY TYPE PROBLEMS SO I FELT OK ABOUT THEIR TIRES. UNTIL NOW IM VERY CONCERNED ABOUT THE QUALITY OF THE TIRES THAT MY FAMILY WILL HAVE ON THE CARS WE DRIVE. WHILE APPLYING THE BRAKE PEDAL VEHICLE FAILED TO RESPOND . ALSO, BRAKE LIGHT APPEARED ON THE DASHBOARD WITHOUT PRIOR WARNING. *AK
DOOR LOCK ACTUATORS ON DRIVER'S DOOR, AND REAR PASSENGER DOOR DO NOT WORK. MUST MANUALLY OPEN AND LOCK DOORS DAILY. *TR
FIRESTONE TIRE DEFECT - STEELTEX -- LAST WEEK MY SON AND TWO FRIENDS WAS DRIVING MY EXCURSION AT ABOUT 75 MPH WHEN THE TREAD ON THE LEFT FRONT TIRE SEPARATED. THIS WAS WITNESSED BY AN ON-COMING DRIVER. MY VEHICLE RAN OFF THE ROAD HIT A CULVERT AND FLIPPED END-TO-END. THERE WAS EXTENSIVE DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE BOTH FRONT TOP AND REAR. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. ONE PASSENGER WAS LIFE-FLIGHTED FROM THE ACCIDENT SCENE. VERY FORTUNATELY ALL OF THE PASSENGERS WERE WEARING SEATBELTS -- ALL WERE INJURED BUT NONE SERIOUSLY -- THE INJURIES OF THE PASSENGER THAT WAS LIFE-FLIGHTED WAS NOT AS SERIOUS AS INITIALLY BELIEVED.
LOUD MISSING NOISE COMMING FROM ENGINE AND LOSS OF POWER. PROBLEM FOUND WAS # 4 SPARK PLUG ON PASS SIDE OF ENGINE HAD BLOWN OUT AND WAS LAYING ON TOP OF ENGINE. IT DAMAGED THREADS IN ALUM HEAD AND COIL PACK. SPARK PLUGS HAVE NEVER BEEN CHANGED. FACTORY DEFECT DURING BUILD. FORD DEALERS CONTACTED AND COULD OFFER NO ASSITANCE*AK
OWNER HAS A 2000 FORD EXCURSION EQUIPPED WITH STEELTEX RADIAL A/T TIRES SIZE LT265/75R16. THE VEHICLE HAD 1 TIRE BLOW OUT AND WAS LEFT ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. OWNER TRIED TO CONTACT FIRESTONE FOR ROAD SIDE ASSISTANCE BUT FIRESTONE REFUSED. THE OWNER THEN RECEIVED HELP FROM GOODYEAR AND REPLACED THOSE TIRES WITH GOODYEAR TIRES. NOW FIRESTONE WILL NOT HONOR THE TIRE RECALL BECAUSE THE OWNER WAS NOT ABLE TO PRODUCE THE DAMAGED TIRES. OWNER SAYS THE TIRES PROVIDE FURTHER DETAILS. *JB *NM
FIRESTONE STEELTEX A/T TREAD AND STEEL CORD PEELED OFF FROM TIRE CARCASS CAUSING OVER $2,000 DAMAGE TO VEHICLE AND MOMENTARY LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL. THIS IS THIRD STEELTEX FAILURE ON SAME VEHICLE IN LESS THAN 2 MONTHS. REMAINING TIRE HAS BEEN REMOVED FROM THE VEHICLE. FIRESTONE REFUSED TO WARRANTY OUT EITHER TIRE (BLOWN OR STILL IN SERVICE) OR PAY FOR VEHICLE DAMAGE.*AK
I'VE BEEN A MECHANIC FOR OVER 7 YRS, I NOTICED THAT MY FIRESTONE STEELTEX A/T TIRES HAD STRANGE WEAR AND WERE NOISY. I CHECKED THE ALIGNMENT ON MY VEHICLE, WHICH WAS IN MANUFACTURER'S SPECS. WE WENT ON A 500ML ROAD TRIP ALMOST TO MY DESTINATION, WHEN MY LEFT FRONT TIRE BLEW OUT ON THE FREEWAY WITHOUT WARNING. WHEN I SAW THE TIRE THE FIRST THING I NOTICED WERE THE SIDEWAYS STILL IN TACT, AND THE TREAD WAS GONE. BEFORE WE LEFT I DID A TRIP CHECK WHICH INCLUDES CHECKING THE PRESSURE AND CONDITION OF TIRES.*AK
CONSUMER STATES TIRE BUBBLED UP UNDER THE TREAD, CAUSING A BLOWOUT. DEALER NOTIFIED. *AK
WHILE ON A DRIVING VACATION WITH MY FAMILY, I FOUND ALL 4 FIRESTONE STEELTEX 265-75 A\T TIRES ON OUR 2000 FORD EXCURSION TO BE EXPERIENCING SIDEWALL FAILURE.2 OF THE TIRES WERE NEAR IMMEDIATE FAILURE AND THE OTHER TWO WERE STARTING TO FAIL.I MAKE IT A HABIT TO CHECK MY TIRES AND VEHICLE CLOSELY WHENEVER I FUEL MY VEHICLES UP, AND THIS WAS THE ONLY THING PREVENTING WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN A VERY SERIOUS ACCIDENT ( I WAS TOWING A 24 FT BOAT AT THE TIME).
I WAS PROCEDING NORTH ON I17 JUST NORTH OF NEW RIVER AZ WHEN MY LEFT REAR TIRE EXPLODED. AT THE TIME I WAS TRAVELING 75 MPH WHICH IS THE SPEED LIMIT ON THE HIGHWAY. I WAS IN TRAFFIC AND IT TOOK AT LEAST A MILE TO SLOW DOWN AND GET OFF OF THE FREEWAY SAFELY. AS I USE THIS VEHICLE FOR RECREATIONAL USAGE I HAD JUST HAD THE TIRES ROTATED AND I CHECKED THE AIR PRESSURE 20 MIN. BEFORE THIS OCCURED. ALL TIRES WHERE AT THE PROPER INFLATION AND SINCE THE TIRES HAD MORE THAN 50 PERCENT TREAD I FELT THEY WHERE IN GREAT SHAPE. I HAVE SINCE RETIRED ALL OF THE TIRES BY REPLACING THEM AS I CAN'T TAKE THE CHANCE OF ANOTHER BLOW OUT. I WAS LUCKY I WAS NOT TOWING THE 26' TRAILER I USUALLY TOW WITH THIS VEHICLE.*AK
BOTH SPRING OF SUSPENSION BOTTOMED OUT, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO SWERVE WITHOUT PRIOR WARNING. *AK
WHILE DRIVING, THE DOOR OPENED AS THE CONSUMER MADE A TURN. THE FORCE FROM THE CONSUMER'S ARM AND BODY CAUSED THE DOOR TO ABRUPTLY OPEN WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION. *AK *JB
WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED AND WITH NO WARNING BRAKE ROTORS WORE OUT, CAUSING EXTENDED STOPPING DISTANCE. DEALER NOTIFIED.*AK
BRIDGESTONE/FIRESTONE TIRE FAILURE, TIRE BLEW FOR NO APPARENT REASON. *BF THE CONSUMER RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FOR THE TIRES AND WAS TOLD ALL FOUR OF THE TIRES HAD TO BE REPLACED. THE CONSUMER WAS REASSURED HE WOULD BE REIMBURSED FOR THE TWO TIRES HE HAD PURCHASED. THE CONSUMER RECEIVED ANOTHER NOTICE IN THE MAIL WHICH STATED THEY WOULD NOT BE REIMBURSED FOR THE TIRES HE HAD PURCHASED BECAUSE THE CONSUMER WOULD HAVE NEEDED TO PURCHASE THE TIRES AT AN INDEPENDENT FIRESTONE DEALER. *JB
WHEN APPLIED THE BRAKE AT ANY SPEED VEHICLE VIBRATE. DEALER NOTIFIED. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER INFORMATION.
ON SUNDAY, JUNE 1ST, WHILE RETURNING FROM A FISHING TRIP AND TOWING A BOAT, THE RIGHT REAR TIRE ON MY FORD EXCURSION EXPLODED ON I-285 NORTH OF ATLANTA GA. I WAS IN THE LANE INSIDE THE FAST LANE, BUT MOVING AT THE SAME SPEED AS TRAFFIC. I WAS ABLE TO NAVIGATE TO THE SHOULDER AND CHANGE THE TIRE. HOWEVER, BECAUSE THE TIRE EXPLODED AND WRAPPED ITSELF AROUND THE AXLE, THE RIM WAS DESTROYED. I HAVE ORDERED ANOTHER RIM FROM A RE-MANUFACTURER. I'VE E-MAILED FIRESTONE WITH THE INCIDENT INFORMATION, BUT HAVE RECEIVED NO RESPONSE. *NLM
FIRESTONE STEELTEX A/T REMOVED FROM SERVICE AS FIRESTONE TECHNICIAN DID NOT LIKE THE APPEARANCE OF THE SIDEWALL. THIS IS SECOND OF 3 FAILURES IN TWO MONTH PERIOD. *AK
BLOW OUT OF FIRESTONE STEELTEX A/T. THIS IS FIRST OF THREE STEELTEX TIRE FAILURES ON THIS VEHICLE IN TWO MONTH PERIOD. EACH WILL BE REPORTED SEPARATELY.*AK
WHILE TURNING ON HEADLAMP SWITCH IT CAME OFF IN MY HAND. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER REGARDING RECALL #01S09 WAS TOLD ONLY VEHICLES BUILT AT KENTUCKY PLANT 10/8 - 10/30/99 WERE COVERED. MY VEHICLE WAS BUILT 11/6/99. DEALER REFUSED TO REPLACE PART FREE.
MY VEHICLE, A FORD EXCURSION, SUFFERED A TREAD SEPARATION. AS A RESULT OF THE SEPARATION, THE VEHICLE BECAME INVOLVED IN A ROLLOVER. DURING THE ROLLOVER, MY WIFE AND I AND OUR TWO PASSENGERS, MY SON AND HIS WIFE, RECEIVED SEVERE INJURIES.*AK
CAMSHAFT SENSOR FAILURE, 2000 EXCURSION 1ST FAILURE MAY 2003 2ND FAILURE JULY 10/07 3RD FAILURE AUGUST 26/07. *JB
MY EXCURSION HAS BEEN TO THE DEALERSHIP 8+ TIMES SINCE PURCHASE IN 12-2002. THE BRAKES AND SUSPENSION ARE THE TOP RECURRING PROBLEMS. I DO NOT HAVE ENOUGH ROOM TO CONCLUDE ALL PROBLEMS. BRAKES HAVE BEEN SERVICED 3 TIMES AT DEALERSHIP, I HAVE ASKED THEM TO LOOK AT THE BRAKES TWO TIMES IN THE LAST TWO MONTHS BECAUSE OF DIFFICULTY STOPPING, THEY FIND NO PROBLEMS. I DON'T SEE HOW THEY CAN TELL WHEN MY MILEAGE IN IS THE SAME AS MY MILEAGE OUT. I DON'T THINK FORD WANTS TO DEAL WITH THIS PROBLEM. THEY ARE WAITING FOR SOMEONE TO DIE, AND IN THIS HUGE VEHICLE IT IS GOING TO HAVE TO BE A MAJOR ACCIDENT FOR THAT TO OCCUR. WHY DOES SOMEONE HAVE TO DIE BEFORE THIS VEHICLE IS RECALLED. I AM AFRAID FOR MY AND MY FAMILY'S LIFE. I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE FOR SAFETY AND COMFORT, AND I AM AFRAID OF IT. I HAVE TRIED TRADING IT IN BUT WORD MUST BE OUT BECAUSE NO ONE WANTS TO GIVE ME ANYTHING FOR IT. WHAT DO MYSELF AND SO MANY OTHERS HAVE TO DO TO GET THIS PROBLEM TAKEN CARE OFF. *AK

MY 2000 FORD DIESEL EXCURSION CAUGHT ON FIRE FROM THE DASH, STEREO AREA. THERE HAD BEEN NO PRIOR WARNING NOR ANY KIND OF PROBLEMS AT ALL WITH THIS VEHICLE. THERE WERE NO DEFAULTS AT THE TIME IT WAS BOUGHT. EVERYTHING WORKED AND WAS IN GREAT CONDITION AND WAS KEPT THAT WAY. *NLM
FIRESTONE STEELTEX R45 TIRES WHICH WERE ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT ON A 2000 FORD EXCURSION. THE TIRES HAVE 30,000 MILES WITH MINIMAL TREAD WEAR, HOWEVER, THE SIDEWALLS ON ALL 4 TIRES ARE SPLITTING TO THE CORD. CONTACT WITH FIRESTONE RESULTED IN A VERBAL EXPLANATION THAT THEY WOULD RECOGNIZE THIS AS A 'ROAD HAZARD' SITUATION AND PRO-RATE 50% OF THE COST OF REPLACEMENT WITH FIRESTONE/BRIDGESTONE TIRES. THE FIRESTONE CONSUMER AFFAIRS/RETAIL OPERATIONS REPRESENTATIVE FURTHER ADVISED THAT THE NTSB HAS COMPLETED AN INVESTIGATION OF THESE TIRES AND FOUND NO REASON FOR A RECALL. *NLM

VEHICLE TIRES ARE SEPARATING.*MR PRIOR TO INCIDENT, THE CONSUMER CONTACTED FORD, BUT WAS TOLD THE TIRES WERE NOT BEING RECALLED. ONE YEAR LATER THE CONSUMER RECEIVED A LETTER IN THE MAIL WHICH STATED HIS VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION NUMBER WAS LISTED AS HAVING TIRES WHICH WERE BEING RECALLED. THE LETTER ALSO STATED THAT REPLACED TIRES WOULD BE REIMBURSED WITH A RECEIPT. THE CONSUMER SENT THE ORIGINAL RECEIPT WITH A COPY OF THE LETTER. THE CONSUMER THEN RECEIVED A DENIAL LETTER STATING AT THE TIME HE REPLACED THE TIRES THEY WERE DEFECTIVE BUT NOT RECALLED. *JB *NM

THE EXPERIENCED THE SAME PROBLEM AS STATED IN RECALL#01V075000, HOWEVER THE VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION NUMBER WAS INCLUDED. *JB SCC
MY 2000 FORD EXCURSION HAS A DEFECTIVE PAINT APPLICATION, RESULTING IN LACK OF ADHESION. LARGE CHUNKS ARE LIFTING OFF AND THE ENTIRE SURFACE IS AT RISK. THE ROOF AND HOOD ARE EXHIBITING THE WORST PROBLEMS. I HAVE BEEN ADVISED BY AUTO BODY SPECIALIST INCLUDING FORD'S OWN DESIGNATED, THAT THE PROBLEM STEMS FROM A MANUFACTURING ISSUE. THE CAR OBVIOUSLY RECIEVED TOO MUCH PAINT. DISCOVERED ON 2/21/03. CATASTROPHIC FAILURE OF THE PAINT ON THE HOOD HAS BEEN SUGGESTED BY EXPERTS -- COULD BE A SEVERE SAFETY PROBLEM AT SPEEDS. *JB
I OWN A 2000 FORD EXCURSION THAT RECENTLY EXPERIENCED THE EXACT SYMPTOMS DESCRIBED IN A RECALL ISSUED BY FORD ON 8/3/2001 (REF: NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID 01V258000). NAMELY, THE INTERMITTENT WINDSHIELD WIPER FUNTION STOPPED WORKING, FOLLOWED LATER BY COMPLETE FAILURE OF THE WIPERS FOLLOWING SNOW AND ICE OBSTRUCTION. THE WIPERS ARE CURRENTLY COMPLETELY INOPERABLE AND POSE A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY RISK. I BROUGHT THE VEHICAL TO THE FORD DEALER THAT IT WAS PURCHASED FROM (CAPISTRANO FORD IN SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CALIFORNIA) AND WAS TOLD THAT OUR PARTICULAR VEHICLE WAS NOT COVERED BY THE RECALL AND THAT IT WOULD COST NEARLY $500 TO FIX AND $88 TO DIAGNOSE. I FIND IT VERY DISTURBING THAT I OWN A VEHICLE WITH THE SAME YEAR, MAKE AND MODEL ADDRESSED IN THE RECALL WITH A KNOW SAFETY RISK, AND YET SOMEHOW IT IS NOT COVERED. OBVIOULSY THE PROBLEM I EXPERIENCED IS THE EXACT PROBLEM THAT THE RECALL WAS MEANT TO ADDRESS. THE ONLY TWO CONCLUSIONS THAT I CAN DRAW FROM THIS ARE: (1) FORD'S COMPUTER SYSTEM IS SOMEHOW NOT PULLING UP OUR VIN NUMBER UNDER THIS RECALL, OR (2) THE RECALL WAS NOT BROAD ENOUGH AND NEEDS TO BE EXPANDED.

OUR TRANSMISSION ON OUR FORD 2000 EXCURSION KEEPS GOING OUT. ON DANGEROUS TWO LANE MOUNTAIN ROADS WHERE THE VEHICLE TAKES UP THE ENTIRE LANE AND I ALWAYS HAVE CHILDREN IN THE CAR. I AM ON MY THIRD TRANSMISSION AND MY THREE YEAR OLD SON NOW ASKS IF THE CAR IS GOING TO BREAK DOWN EACH AND EVERYTIME WE GET INTO THE VEHICLE. I'M AFRAID TO GO ANYWHERE. THE PROBLEM IS THIS AS I SEE IT. THE CLUTCH ON THE FAN THAT COOLS THE TRANSMISSION KICKS ON AT 40 MPH, ALSO THE COOLER IS TOO SMALL FOR THE SIZE OF ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION, AND I'M TIRED OF PUTTING AFTER MARKET EQUIPMENT ON A VEHICLE THAT I PAID SO MUCH FOR. ON MOUNTAINOUS TWO LANE ROADS YOU NEVER GET THE VEHICLE UP TO 40 MPH THUS MAKING THE VEHICLE LABOR AND RUN HOT, THUS CAUSING THE TRANSMISSION TO BOIL AND FALL APART INSIDE. THE ENGINEERS SHOULD KNOW OF THIS PROBLEM IT IS WITH THE DIESEL ENGINE THAT THIS OCCURS. I HAVE A FRIEND WITH AN F250, SAME CHASSIS AS MY EXCURSION AND HE IS ON HIS FIFTH TRANSMISSION. MY FEAR IS TWOFOLD, THAT I WILL BREAK DOWN AGAIN ON THESE DANGEROUS MOUNTAIN ROADS AND CAUSE AN ACCIDENT, ALSO MY VEHICLE WILL SOON BE OUT OF WARRANTY ALLOWING FORD TO BE OFF THE HOOK. I STILL HAVE TO PAY FOR MY EXPENSIVE VEHICLE WHETHER IT PERFORMS OR NOT AND I FEEL THIS IS A SEVERE PROBLEM AND SAFETY ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO BE RECTIFIED, WE PAID A LOT FOR THIS VEHICLE TO BE PERFORMING SO POORLY. *NLM
FRONT ROTORS CONTINUALLY WARPING REGARDLESS OF DRIVING HABITS. TURNED ROTORS TWICE IN LESS THAN 10,000 MILES AND REPLACED THEM ONCE. I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALER, IT WAS DUE TO THE ROTORS BEING TOO SMALL FOR SUCH A HEAVY VEHICLE. *JB
