CONSUMER HAD AN ISSUE TO THE TERMS OF AGREEMENT FOR REIMBURSEMENT FROM BRIDGESTONE/FIRESTONE. (NAR) *PH THE CONSUMER WAS DENIED REIMBURSEMENT BECAUSE OF WHEN HE PURCHASED THE TIRES. *JB THE PROBLEM WAS DUE TO SUDDEN DEFLATION. THE STEELTEX TIRES WERE REPLACED WITH EQUIVALENT YOKOHAMA TIRES. THIS ALL OCCURRED BEFORE THE VEHICLE HAD 100 MILES. *SC
WHILE TRAVELING ON THE HIGHWAY AT APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH RIGHT PASSENGER TIRE BLEW OUT. TWO WEEKS LATER, THE PASSENGER TIRE BLEW OUT. BRIDGESTONE, SIZE 285/75R16, DOT K99001D693A7. MANUFACTURER NOTIFIED. *AK
CONSUMER RECEIVED A RECALL LETTER FOR FIRESTONE TIRES ONE YEAR AGO. THE TIRES HAD ALREADY BEEN REPLACED WITH BRIDGESTONE. CONSUMER WAS TOLD THAT HE WOULD BE REIMBURSED. AFTER SENDING THE RECEIPT TO DEALER IT WAS RETURNED. SINCE HE DID NOT REPLACE THE TIRES WITH FIRESTONE TIRES THE CLAIM WAS DENIED.*AK
THE CONSUMER STATES THAT,' THE FIRESTONE MANUFACTURER WILL NOT HONOR THE RECALL DEALING WITH THE REIMBURSEMENT FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF THE FIRESTONE STEEL TEX RADIAL TIRE A/T.' THE OWNER OF THE VEHICLE HAS MADE CONTACT WITH THE MANUFACTURE. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY FURTHER DETAILS. *JB
EMAIL SENT TO FIRESTONE TODAY. I WAS DISAPPOINTED TO LEARN THAT THE SERIOUSLY FLAWED SIDEWALLS ON MY STEELTEX LT265 R75 R4S TIRES ON MY 2001 EXCURSION WOULD NOT LEAD TO A REPLACEMENT. I REPORTED A PROBLEM ON THESE TIRES TO THE BRIARWOOD FIRESTONE STORE IN 2002 AND AGAIN TODAY. THIS IS ESPECIALLY TROUBLING SINCE I WAS ADVISED TO REPLACE A TIRE IN 2002 AT MY COST AND HAVE HAD ABSOLUTELY NO PROBLEMS WITH THE SIDE WALLS OF THE REPLACEMENT EVEN THOUGH I CONTINUED TO USE THE SAME CAR WASH I HAVE USED SINCE PURCHASING THE CAR NEW IN AUGUST 2001. ALSO, I RAN FIRESTONE FIREHAWK 31-10.5-15 ATXS ON MY SEMA SHOW JEEP IN 1995 AND 1996 ONLY TO BE FORCED TO REQUEST REPLACEMENTS FROM NASHVILLE AFTER SERIOUS SIDEWALL DAMAGE IN COMPLETING THE RUBICON. THE DAMAGE WAS DUE TO MAJOR SIDEWALL WEAKNESS LEADING TO LARGE AREAS OF THE SIDEWALL PEALING AWAY TO REVEAL THE WHITE SUB LAYER. JOHN TAYLOR OF FIRESTONE GRACIOUSLY REPLACED THE ATXS WITH BRIDGESTONE MTS THAT PERFORMED FLAWLESSLY IN ALL TRAIL TESTS (INCLUDING A RUN THROUGH THE RUBICON IN 1997) AND NEVER EXPERIENCED THE TYPE OF SIDEWALL DESTRUCTION SEEN ON THE ATXS. THE TYPE OF DAMAGE TO THE SIDEWALLS ON MY EXCURSION IS SIMILAR TO THAT OF THE ATX'S, BUT MUCH DEEPER AND MORE PRONOUNCED. IT COULD NOT HAVE BEEN CAUSED BY THE CAR WASH AS THE SPLITS RUN BOTH DIRECTIONS (FORWARD AND BACK). ALSO, I TAKE MY OTHER VEHICLE THROUGH THE SAME CAR WASH AND HAVE NOT EXPERIENCED ANY DAMAGE ON MICHELIN OR B. F. GOODRICH TIRES ON THAT VEHICLE. THE FACT THAT I HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH TRAIL TESTING FIRESTONE TIRES, THAT I AM AN ENGINEER, AND THAT I REPORTED PROBLEMS WITH THE ATX'S IN 1996 SHOULD SHOW A LEVEL OF KNOWLEDGE NOT CHARACTERISTIC OF THE NORMAL USER. THIS DID NOT MATTER TO THE STORE MANAGER. FURTHERMORE, ONE OF THE STORE PERSONNEL MADE A SILLY REMARK THAT THE DAMAGE WAS FORD'S FAULT BECAUSE THEY ADVISED USERS TO RUN THE TIRE PRESSURE TOO LOW. *AK
CONSUMER HAS TAKEN VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP ON TWO OCCASIONS CONCERNING EXHAUST CLAMP CRACKING AND FALLING OFF. MECHANIC WAS ABLE TO FIX THE PROBLEM. *AK
FIRESTONE STEELTEX, 265X75X16 FRONT LEFT TIRE NEARLY SEPERATED ON FREEWAY. *AK
WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH, THE DRIVER SHUT THE FOUR-WHEEL DRIVE OFF THE VEHICLE AND WITHOUT WARNING THE DRIVER LOST CONTROL OF THE POWER STEERING, CAUSING THE CONSUMER TO DRIVE INTO A DITCH. THE CONSUMER WAS ABLE TO REMOVE THE VEHICLE FROM THE DITCH. *NM *JB
VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY. CONSUMER WENT TO ENTER THE VEHICLE AND SUDDENLY VEHICLE WENT BACKWARDS WITH THE CONSUMER HOLDING ON, THROWING THE CONSUMER INTO THE NEIGHBOR'S DRIVEWAY, CAUSING HIM TO SUSTAIN MULTIPLE INJURIES. *AK
WHILE BRAKING ON A BUMPY ROAD AT 45 MPH VEHICLE VIBRATED. *AK
WHILE DRIVING AT 65 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY RIGHT REAR TIRE BLEW OUT, CAUSING THE DRIVER TO PULL OFF THE HIGHWAY. THE DRIVER CHANGED THE TIRE, AND CONTACTED THE FIRESTONE MANUFACTURER ABOUT THIS ISSUE. *AK
WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION NEVER SHIFTED FROM SECOND GEAR. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALERSHIP. MECHANIC STATED VEHICLE NEEDED A NEW TRANSMISSION. *AK
AT 62 MPH, MY LEFT REAR TIRE DEVELOPED A LARGE BULGE (APPROXIMATELY 12" IN DIAMETER) ON THE TREAD AREA WHICH EXTENDED INTO THE SIDEWALL APPROXIMATELY 4". THE TRUCK SHOOK VIOLENTLY AND I PULLED OFF THE ROAD. THE TREAD NEVER SEPARATED FROM THE TIRE CARCASS. I BELIEVE IT WOULD HAVE SEPARATED IF I HAD NOT STOPPED IMMEDIATELY. MY VEHICLE IS A 2001 FORD EXCURSION WITH A DIESEL ENGINE. THE TIRES- FIRESTONE STEELTEX LT265/75R16- ARE ORIGINAL WITH 35,850 MILES ON THEM. I CHECK TIRE PRESSURE WEEKLY AND KEEP IT AT 60PSI FOR THESE TIRES. THEY HAVE NEVER LOST AIR IN THE 12 MONTHS I HAVE OWNED THE VEHICLE. *JB
TOTAL FAILURE OF AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION, WITHOUT WARNING WHILE DRIVING. TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF LOWER GEARS, CREATING EXTREMELY UNSAFE DRIVING ENVIRONMENT. VEHICLE TAKEN TO TRANSMISSION SHOP, DIAGNOSED AS HAVING THE "DIRECT DRUM" BREAK APART AND OVERHEAT THE INTERNAL MECHANISM OF TRANSMISSION. OWNER OF SHOP INDICATED THAT MOST VEHICLES HAVE SEVERAL WARNING LIGHTS/SIGNALS TO WARN OF POTENTIAL PROBLEMS LIKE THIS - MY VEHICLE DID NOT EXHIBIT ANY SUCH SIGNS PRIOR TO THE TOTAL FAILURE OF THE TRANSMISSION. THE PART IN QUESTION IS A ALUMINUM CASTING, AS SUCH IT HAS NO MOVING PARTS. THE FACT THAT IT FAILED IS OBVIOUSLY DUE TO A MANUFACTURING DEFECT OR THE IMPROPER SELECTION AND SPECIFICATION OF MATERIAL IN ITS MANUFACTURE. THE FORD DEALER (WHERE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED) INDICATED THAT THE FORD MOTOR CO. WOULD NOT PARTICIPATE IN THE RE-IMPRESSING OF OVER $2000 IN REPAIRS SINCE IT WAS NOT TAKEN TO A FORD DEALER FOR REPAIRS. ALL VEHICLES USING THIS TRANSMISSION SHOULD, IN MY OPINION, BE REQUIRED TO BE INSPECTED AND REPAIRED AT THE MANUFACTURER'S COST. FAILURE OF THIS TYPE AT SPEED COULD HAVE RESULTED IN MAJOR INJURIES OR DEATH. *AK
FIRESTONE STEELTEX R4S TIRES ON 2001 FORD EXCURSION. AFTER SEVERAL TRIPS TO GARAGE THE CONCLUSION IS THAT TWO OF THE FOUR TIRES ARE NO LONGER STABLE. THE TIRES ARE MAKING THE VEHICLE HANDLE IN AN UNSTABLE MANNER.*AK
WHILE DRIVING AT 40 MPH AND WITHOUT ANY WARNING AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FAILED. VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER, DEALER STATED THAT TRANSMISSION WENT OUT.*AK
I HAVE A 2001 FORD EXCURSIONS, WITH ONLY 54,000 MILES THE TRANSMISSION IS GOING TO HAVE TO BE OVERHAULED DO TO A DEFECT THAT FORD KNOWS ABOUT AND CHANGED IN NEWER MODELS THAT CAUSE THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SKIP SECOND GEAR. I HAVE SEEN MANY OTHER PEOPLE ON THE INTERNET TALK ABOUT IT BUT I LIKE MOST PEOPLE DO NOT KNOW WHERE TO GO TO MAKE FORD FIX THE PROBLEM.*AK
TIRE BLOWOUT ON ARIZONA SR 69 NEW DEWEY, AZ. TIRE TYPE: FIRESTONE STEELTEX R4S SIZE 265/75R16 WITH 25,000 MILES AS AN OEM TIRE FROM FORD MOTOR COMPANY ON A 2001 FORD EXCURSION. *JB
TRANSMISSION SHIFTS FROM 1 TO 3 DUE TO A DEFECTIVE PART. TRANSMISSION SHOP TOLD ME FORD SWITCHED A PART IN THEIR TRANSMISSION AFTER 1999 YEAR AND SWITCHED IT BACK IN 2002. THE PART THE SWITCHED LEADS TO THIS FAILURE. I BELIEVE A LOT MORE COMPLAINTS WILL BE COMING IN THE NEXT FEW YEARS. WE JUST PUT A LOT OF MILES DUE TO LIVING IN A RUAL AREA.

CONSUMER STATED WHILE DRIVING AT 60 MPH THE LEFT REAR TIRE TREAD SEPARATED THEN THE TIRE BLEWOUT WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONSUMER HAD TO PULL OVER. THE DEALER WAS BEEN NOTIFIED (FIRESTONE, STEEL TEX AT, SIZE P265/75R16). *AK *SCC *NLM
THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SHIFTSEDTO A LOWER GEAR WHILE DRIVING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER ON 8/5/2003, WHO STATED THE TRANSMISSION LOST POWER IN THE SECOND AND FOURTH GEARS. PLEASE PROVIDE DETAILS.
WHILE PARKED VEHICLE CAUGHT ON FIRE. PRIOR TO THE FIRE THERE WAS A WIRE SMELL IN THE CABIN PER CONSUMER. *AK THE MORNING OF THE INCIDENT, THE CONSUMER REPORTED AN ODOR TO THE DEALER IN WHICH NO APPOINTMENTS WERE AVAILABLE. (WIRE RELATED PER INSPECTION) *SCC *JB

FIRESTONE, STEELTEX A/T TIRES ON FORD EXCURSION. LATERAL WALL SLITS IN TWO TIRES THAT HAVE JUST OCCURRED WITH ONLY 34,000 MILES. ONLY ONE PERSON HAS DRIVEN THE CAR RECENTLY AND I KNOW NOTHING WAS HIT OR CAUSED THIS NO DAMAGE TO CAR ,ETC, AND YET - DEALER & FIRESTONE KEEP BLAMING IT AS ROAD HAZARD AS CAUSE! PLEASE HELP!!!!*AK
VEHICLE TIRE BLEW OUT AND TREAD WRAPPED AROUND RIGHT THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION WHEN HE NOTICED A BUMPY FEELING/VIBRATION. THE CONSUMER IMMEDIATELY SLOWED DOWN AND THE TIRE BURST AND WRAPPED AROUND THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE VEHICLE AND CAUSED AN EXTREME AMOUNT OF DAMAGE. THE CONSUMER SAW THAT THE TIRE COMPLETELY SEPARATED. THE VEHICLE HAD ONGOING PROBLEMS WITH THE TRANSMISSION, BRAKES, AND AIR TIRE. WHILE DRIVING A NOISE WAS HEARD COMING FROM THE TRANSMISSION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER TWICE, AND THE PROBLEM COULD NOT BE DETERMINED. *AK *CB *JB
WHILE DRIVING, THE SECOND GEAR IN THE TRANSMISSION FROZE UP. *JB
SHOCK BROKE IN HALF AND SEVERED THE BRAKE LINE AND VEHICLE COULD NOT BE STOPPED. ALSO, DAMAGED WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR. REPORTED TO FORD. *NLM
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE WAS REAR ENDED. AS A RESULT THE DRIVER LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND HIT SOME TREES. NONE OF THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THE DEALER HAS BEEN NOTIFIED. *NLM
TIRE FAILURE OF BRIDGESTONE/FIRESTONE STEELTEX RADIAL, LT265/75RX16D OWL ALL TERRAIN TIRES. FIRST FAILURE FIRST WEEK OF APRIL, SECOND WAS DURING SECOND WEEK. IRST WAS TOTAL FAILURE AT EXPRESSWAY SPEED. SECOND SHOWED TREAD SEPARATION ACROSS FACE OF TIRE. *AK
PROBLEMS WITH TIRE FAILURE ON 2001 FORD EXCURSION. *MR THE CONSUMER EXPERIENCED 2 CATASTROPHIC TIRE FAILURES WHILE DRIVING. DURING THE FIRST FAILURE THERE WAS NO INDICATION OF A ROAD HAZARD AND THE TIRE WAS PROPERLY INFLATED PRIOR TO FAILURE. THE CONSUMER SIMPLY ACCEPTED THE TIRE FAILURE AS A FLUKE. THE SECOND TIRE FAILURE OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH. THE TIRE SEPARATED FROM THE PLIES ACROSS THE TREAD FACE AND A VERY NOTICEABLE THUMP WAS HEARD AND FELT. NO SOLUTION WAS OFFERED OR ALTERNATE BRIDGESTONE/FIRESTONE PRODUCT WITH HIGHER LOAD RANGE WAS AVAILABLE. THE CONSUMER WAS FORCED TO REPLACE ALL 5 TIRES. *NM
CONSUMER HAD TO REPLACE ALL FOUR TIRES BECAUSE THEY WOULD NOT RETAIN AIR. AT A LATER DATE A RECALL LETTER WAS RECEIVED. CONSUMER SENT THE RECEIPTS REQUESTED AND HAD BEEN DENIED REIMBURSEMENT.*AK
THE SIDEWALL/TREAD OF ONE OF MY FRONT TIRES LOOKED AS IF IT WERE IN THE EARLY STAGES OF TREAD SEPARATION AS INDICATED BY A CRACK OR LINEAR INDICATION THAT EXTENDED ALMOST 75% AROUND THE PERIMETER WHERE THE SIDEWALL MET THE TREAD AREA. THERE WERE ALSO NUMEROUS OTHER AREAS OF NOTABLE SEPARATION THAT APPEARED TO BE A RESULT OF THE RUBBER MATERIAL BEING TOO DRY PERHAPS. I CALLED FORD AND THEY SAID THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO ABOUT IT AND REFERRED ME TO THIS SITE. BEFORE FAILURE OCCURRED WITH MY FAMILY IN THE VEHICLE, I INSTALLED ALL FOUR NEW TIRES, MODEL MICHELIN LTX M/S THAT I PURCHASED FROM COSCO. THIS IS A 2001 FORD EXCURSION WITH APPROX 30,000 MILES ON IT AT THE TIME. UNFORTUNATES, I WASN'T REALLY THINKING AT THE TIME AND DID NOT HAVE THE TECHNICIANS AT COSCO SAVE THE OLD TIRES FOR ME. *NLM
REQUEST REIMBURSEMENT FOR RECALLED TIRES THE CONSUMER REPLACED. *PH CONSUMER REQUEST REIMBURSEMENT FOR REPLACING TIRE EQUIPMENT ON HER 2001 FORD EXCURSION. THE TIRES FAILED PRIOR TO THE CONSUMER RECEIVING THE RECALL NOTICE. *MR *NM
THE SEAT BELT BROKE.*JB WEBBING WAS CUT IN THREE SEATING POSITIONS. THE DRIVERS SEAT, THE MIDDLE ROW AND THE THIRD ROW SEAT. SECOND AND THIRD ROW SEAT APPEARS TO BEEN CUT WITH A RAZOR. *TC
WHILE DRIVING TO A BOOK STORE, A STEERING INPUT WAS MADE TO AVOID A TRACTOR IN THE ROAD. AT THIS POINT THE VEHICLE BECAME COMPLETELY UNCONTROLLABLE, UNRESPONSIVE TO ANY AND ALL FURTHER INPUTS.THE VEHICLE DEPARTED THE ROAD CROSSING A MEDIAN, TWO NORTHBOUND LANES OF TRAFFIC, UP A BANK AND ROLLED AT LEAST 2 TIMES BEFORE STOPPING. INSPECTION OF THE STEERING LINKAGE INDICATED FAILURE OF THE STEERING BOX SHAFT WHERE THE CONTROL ARM ATTACHES TO THE STEERING BOX. THIS FAILURE MAY HAVE OCCURRED DURING THE INITIAL STEERING INPUT. ADDITIONALLY, THE CONTROL ARM WAS BENT TOWARD THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE, POSSIBLY INDICATING IT HAD BEEN DRAGGED FOR MOST IF NOT ALL OF THE MISHAP.
AFTER PURCHASING MY 2001 EXCURSION WITH POWER STROKE DIESEL I HAD PROBLEMS WITH A HUNTING AND SOMETIMES SURGING WHEN STARTING THE ENGINE. AFTER TWO TRIPS TO THE DEALER AND THEM STATIONING THAT THERE WAS "NO" PROBLEM, THE VEHICLE SHUT DOWN WHILE DRIVING THREE DAYS LATER. LUCKILY I WASN'T IN TRAFFIC I WAS JUST GETTING READY TO PULL OUT ONTO THE ROAD. AFTER HAVING IT TOWED TO A DIFFERENT DEALER (DUE TO LOCATION) I WAS INFORMED THAT THE CAM PICK-UP SENSOR WAS BAD AND THERE WAS A SERVICE BULLETIN ON THIS. I RETURNED ABOUT TWO DAYS LATER COMPLAINING THAT THE HUNTING AND SURGING WAS STILL PRESENT. AGAIN, I WAS TOLD THAT THERE APPEARED TO BE "NO" PROBLEMS. (THEY PLUGGED THE COMPUTER INTO IT AND GOT NO CODES. BUT, DID NOT DRIVE OR RUN THE VEHICLE.) NOW THREE DEALERS, LESS WARRANTY AND MONTHS LATER I'M STILL HAVING LACK OF POWER,ACCELERATION AND POOR FUEL CONSUMPTION PROBLEMS. BUT, STILL BEING TOLD BY THE DEALER THAT NOTHING IS WRONG. FINALLY I TOOK THE EXCURSION IN TO THE DEALER WHILE IS WAS DEMONSTRATING THE PROBLEM. THE SERVICE TECH AGREED THAT "THIS ISN'T RIGHT". THEY REPLACED THE FUEL INJECTOR ON NUMBER 8 CYLINDER. AND THE TURBO CHARGER UNDER THE WARRANTY. THE VEHICLE STILL EXHIBITS LACK OF ACCELERATION ON TAKE OFF AND NOW SHUTTERING WHEN FIRST PLACED INTO REVERSE. SERVICE TECH STATES THAT IT IS THE TORQUE CONVERTER AND THAT IS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY NOW AND WILL COST APPROXIMATELY $3000. THE COST OF THE VEHICLE NEW IS $50,000 I WOULD THINK THE ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION WOULD LAST MORE THAN 40,000 MILES? FORD IS IGNORING AND NOT STANDING BEHIND A MANUFACTURE DEFECT THAT IS NOTED ON MULTIPLE EXCURSIONS AND F-250'S. *LA
CONSUMER STATED, WHILE GETTING IN THE VEHICLE , AND AS SHE GRABBED THE HANDLE IT FELL AND CAUSED A A MAJOR INJURY. TS THE INSIDE HANDLE OF THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. (MODEL XLT) SCC
THE ROTORS ON MY 2001 FORD EXCURSION KEEP WARPING AND REQUIRED PERIODIC TURNING AND/OR REPLACEMENT. AS OF 40,000 MILES. ON ONE OCCASION, THE CALIPER & ABS SENSOR FAILED, SEIZING THE FRONT WHEEL AND CAUSING AND INCIDENT ON A SNOW COVERED ROAD. *JB
US MARSHALLS LEASE A 2001 FORD EXCURSION FROM GSA FLEET MANAGEMENT. THEY WERE TRAVELING DOWN A HIGHWAY WHEN THEY HEARD A LOUND THUMPING NOISE. AFTER STOPPING THE VEHICLE, THEY EXITED THE VEHICLE TO FIND OUT THAT ONE OF THE REAR TIRES TREAD CAME OFF THE CASING. THE TIRE HAD NOT GONE FLAT. WHEN THE TREAD SEPERATED FROM THE CASING IT HAD DONE SOME BODY DAMAGE TO THE WHEEL WELL AREA.
PANIC STOP AND VEHICLE PULLED LEFT SO HARD THAT IT ALMOST WENT THROUGH THE CENTER SAFETY BARRIERS ON INTERSTATE. PULLED SO HARD THAT IT FELT LIKE SOMEONE HAD GRABBED THE STEERING WHEEL AND YANKED IT. ANYTIME YOU BRAKE HARD IT PROGRESSIVELY PULLS HARDER TO THE LEFT THE MORE YOU APPLY THE BRAKES. ALSO POWER-STEERING WILL DISAPPEAR AT SLOW SPEEDS MAKING IT ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO TURN INTO PARKING LOTS. DEALER HAD VEHICLE FOR OVER 4 WEEKS. THE FORD HOT LINE HAD THE DEALER REPLACE THE FRONT SPRINGS, TIE ROD ENDS, STEERING BOX, POWER STEERING PUMP, CHECK ALIGNMENT,TRY DIFFERENT ALIGNMENT SPECS, BALANCE & ROTATE TIRES, SWAPPED CALIPERS FROM SIDE TO SIDE, PUT NEW CALIPERS AND PADS ON. DEALER DROVE TWO OTHER EXCURSION'S ONE NEW ONE & ANOTHER CUSTOMER'S AND THEY BOTH DID THE SAME THING. FORD HOT LINE HAS ADMITTED TO DEALERSHIP THEY KNOW OF PROBLEM BUT DON'T KNOW WHAT ELSE TO TRY. *JB
WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES TRUCK PULLS TO THE LEFT OR RIGHT VERY HARD ALMOST FORCING STEERING WHEEL OUT OF CONSUMERS HAND. CONSUMER IS CONCERNED VEHICLE MAY TIP OVER. CONSUMER TOOK VEHICLE TO FORD AND THE REPLACED THE BRAKE CALIPERS. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY FURTHER INFORMATION. TS

AS OF SEPTEMBER 10TH, 2002, I HAVE HAD TWO TIRES WITH SEPERATED BELTS. I HAVE HAD MY EXCURSION IN TWO DIFFERENT DEALERSHIPS DUE WHAT APPEARED TO BE STEERING ISSUES. THE VEHICLE WONDERS ON THE ROAD AS IF IT HAS BALD TIRES. I HAD ONE DEALERSHIP TELL ME IT IS CHARACTORISTIC OF THE VEHICLE. I HAD A SECOND TELL ME IT WAS TIRE PRESSURE AND PROCEEDED TO INFLATE MY REAR TIRES TO 65 PSI. I HAD ANOTHER DEALER THIS WEEK TELL ME THE TWO REAR TIRE APPEAR TO HAVE ISSUES WITH THE "BELTS". NOW THIS SAME DEALER JUST ROTATED MY TIRES. I STARTED RESEARCHING FOR DEFECTS AND WAS ASTONISHED AT THE AMOUNT OF REPORTS OUT THERE ON THE INTERNET. WHY IS IT THAT YOUR AGENCY IS NOT PURSUING THESE DEFECTS? PLEASE ADVISE? NLM
CONSUMER STATES THAT THE FOUR DOORS TO THE VEHICLE HAVE ALL LOST POWER TO THEM, ALSO THE LOCKING ABILITY IS ALSO GONE. NLM
WHILE DRIVING AT 55 MPH HIT ANOTHER VEHICLE AND AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY.*AK
