TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 FORD EXCURSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ENTIRE VEHICLE IS ELECTRONIC. HE STATED THAT THE SPEEDOMETER DOES NOT WORK, THE WINDOWS OCCASIONALLY ROLL UP AND DOWN, THE DOOR LOCKS DO NOT OPEN, AND THE TEMPERATURE GAUGE WORKS INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED USED AND THE DEALER STATED THAT THEY CANNOT REPAIR THE FAILURES. THE VIN IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000.
2004 FORD EXCURSION HAS A PROBLEM WITH STALLING. *NJ THE CONSUMER STATED THE RECALL WAS NOT BEING HONORED. RECALL # 05V270000. THE CONSUMER ALSO STATED THE ALTERNATOR WAS REPLACED LESS THAN A YEAR AGO. *JB
THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN SERVICED COUNTLESS TIMES FOR STALLING. EACH TIME THE DEALER HAS REPLACED THE EGR VALVE AND OTHER ITEMS BECAUSE OF FAILURE CODES. EACH TIME THE EGR VALVE HAS FAILED. THE DEALER IS "REPAIRING" THE VEHICLE AND GIVING IT BACK TO ME. WITHIN 5 MINUTES AFTER RECEIVING THE VEHICLE FROM THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT, IT STALLS AGAIN. THE VEHICLE WILL STALL AT LEAST 3 TIMES DURING A 30 MINUTE DRIVE. IT STALLS ON THE FREEWAY, ON RESIDENTIAL STREETS, STARTING FROM A DEAD STOP, AND IF IT IS DRIVING AT A CONSTANT SPEED. THIS VEHICLE IS NOT FIXED AND IT IS OBVIOUS THE DEALER CANNOT FIX IT! IT IS GOING IN TOMORROW FOR THE 3RD TIME THIS MONTH FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. I HAVE ALMOST GOTTEN IN AN ACCIDENT FROM IT STALLING, AND I HAVE HAD MANY TIMES WHERE I HAVE BEEN IN A DANGEROUS SITUATION FROM IT STALLING. THE DEALER CANNOT FIX IT, I CANNOT SALE IT TO ANOTHER PERSON IN THIS CONDITION, AND FORD WON'T DO ANYTHING TO HELP ME. I AM DRIVING A VERY DANGEROUS VEHICLE AND HAVE NO WAY TO FIX IT. WHAT CAN I DO? VEHICLE WOULD STALL WHILE DRIVING AND SURGE WHILE STOPPED. THIS HAPPENED DUE TO THE WIRING HARNESS BEING BURNED AND THE FUEL INJECTION CONTROL MODULATOR WIRING HARNESS AS WELL AS THE ICP SENSOR HAS TO BE REPLACED. THIS IS A RECALL ISSUE FOR MY YEAR AND MAKE BUT NOT MY VIN. THE MECHANICS SAID IT WILL HAPPEN AGAIN, IT IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE WITH THIS RISK. *TR

WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH, IDLING, OR PARKED, THE RPM'S BEGIN TO INCREASE FROM 2,000 TO 3,000 AUTOMATICALLY AND THE VEHICLE WILL OCCASIONALLY STALL. WHEN DRIVING AT LOW SPEEDS, THE RPM'S WILL INCREASE FROM 2,000 TO 5,000. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN DIAGNOSED BY THE DEALER SEVERAL DIFFERENT TIMES, BUT THE FAILURE STILL PERSISTS. NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 05V270000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:WIRING) WAS REFERENCED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 48,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 15,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 FORD EXCURSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE DEVELOPED RUST AND CORROSION ON THE ENTIRE UNDERBODY, INCLUDING THE AXLE. THE GAS TANK AND SUPPORTING BRACKETS WERE ALSO CORRODED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL REPAIR SHOP AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE CORROSION WAS EXTREMELY SEVERE. THE MANUFACTURER WOULD NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 8,500 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 17,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 FORD EXCURSION. AFTER THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN PARKED FOR EIGHT HOURS, THE CONTACT SMELLED SOMETHING BURNING WHEN IT WAS RESTARTED. HE NOTICED SMOKE COMING FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT AND THE VEHICLE BURST INTO FLAMES TWO MINUTES LATER. THE FIRE BURNED THROUGH THE AIR CONDITIONER HOSE AND ERUPTED. THE ERUPTION ALSO EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE. THE CONTACT IS A MECHANIC AND HE INSPECTED THE VEHICLE. HE WAS ABLE TO START THE VEHICLE AND DROVE TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS CAUSED BY A LOOSE WIRE. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 04V327000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:BATTERY) FOR THE 2003 MODELS. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 56,880. THE VEHICLE NOW SURGES OR REVS AS IF IT IS TRYING TO SURGE WHEN DRIVING OR IDLING. THE FAILURE OCCURS AT SPEEDS BETWEEN 0-25 MPH. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT HIS VIN WAS EXCLUDED FROM NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 05V27000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:WIRING). THE PURCHASE DATE WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 101,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 95,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 FORD EXCURSION. WHILE DRIVING BETWEEN 25 AND 65 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE VEHICLE ALSO FAILED TO ACCELERATE WHEN THE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. AFTER BEING PARKED FOR 3-4 HOURS, THE VEHICLE WOULD OPERATE NORMALLY FOR THIRTY MINUTES BEFORE THE STALLING BEGAN. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED AFTER THE FAILURE, BUT DIMMED WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER TWICE AND TO A MECHANIC ANOTHER TWO TIMES. ON ONE OCCASION, HE WAS INFORMED THAT THE FUEL FILTER WAS CLOGGED. NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 05V270000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:WIRING) WAS REFERENCED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 75,100 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 68,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 FORD EXCURSION. AT 65 MPH THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO SWERVE, FOLLOWED BY A LOUD BANGING SOUND. THE CONTACT PULLED OVER, NOTICED THE TIRE TREAD HAD COMPLETELY SEPARATED, AND HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALER. THE TIRE WAS A COOPER DISCOVER ST; TIRE SIZE LT245/75R16. THE ROAD CONDITIONS WERE CLEAR WITH NO VISIBLE POT HOLES OR ROAD HAZARDS. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGE WERE 91000. *AK
THE COMPLAINT IS IN REGARD TO THE BF GOODRICH RUGGED TRAIL T/A LT265/75R16 TIRES AS SUPPLIED ON MY FORD EXCURSION VEHICLE. I HAD TO REPLACE THE TIRES PREMATURELY DUE TO LARGE CRACKS OPENING UP ON THE SIDE-WALLS OF ALL 4 TIRES, IN FACT PIECES OF RUBBER STARTING FLAKING OFF OF THE SIDE-WALLS. I WAS AFRAID THAT I WAS SETTING MY SELF UP FOR A BLOW OUT DURING MY MANY TRIPS FROM KY TO CHICAGO. AT THE TIRE DEALER-SHIP WHERE I HAD THEM REPLACED THEY WONDERED WHY I WAS REPLACING THEM, UNTIL I POINTED OUT ALL OF THE CRACKS. TREAD LIFE APPEARED GOOD ,BUT THE SIDE-WALLS SURE LACKED THE SAME ABILITY. *JB
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 FORD EXCURSION. WHILE DRIVING BETWEEN 35-40 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED AND THEN SHUT OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A MECHANIC AND THEY REPLACED THE NUMBER 1 AND NUMBER 3 FUEL INJECTORS. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 05V270000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:WIRING). THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 130,994 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 108,480. UPDATED 09/10/08 *BF THE ALTERNATOR, CONTROL MODULE FOR THE HEATING AND AC SYSTEM, AND COOLING SYSTEM WERE REPLACED. UPDATED 09/19/08. *JB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 FORD EXCURSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT ALL THE VEHICLE DOORS FAILED TO LOCK PROPERLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE DEALER CONFIRMED THAT THE DOOR LOCK ACTUATORS FAILED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT WHILE REFUELING, THE FUEL SPILLED TO THE GROUND. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE PRIVATE MECHANIC TO ADDRESS THE FAILURE. THE MECHANIC CONFIRMED THAT THE FILLER PIPE WAS RUSTED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED.THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED AND THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 176,167.
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE ENGINE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS MANEUVERED OFF THE ROAD AND RESTARTED. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO THE DEALER ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS FOR THE PROBLEM WHERE A TURBO AND A SENSOR WERE REPLACED. ALTHOUGH THE PROBLEM PERSISTED, THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 FORD EXCURSION. THE CENTRAL LOCKING MECHANISM DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY. WHEN THE CONTACT PLACES THE VEHICLE IN DRIVE, THE DOORS ARE AUTOMATICALLY SUPPOSED TO LOCK. THIS DOES NOT OCCUR. HE HAS TO MANUALLY UNLOCK THE DOORS WHEN INSIDE THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT. HE REPLACED ALL OF THE DOOR MODULES, BUT THE FAILURE PERSISTS. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 103,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 106,000.
WE WERE DRIVING IN OUR 2004 FORD EXCURSION ON A 4 LANE ROAD WITH NO OTHER VEHICLES IN SIGHT. THE BACK WINDOW EXPLODED, ALMOST CAUSING US TO RUN OFF THE ROAD. WHEN WE STOPPED AND LOOKED AT THE VEHICLE THERE WERE NO HOLES IN THE WINDOW, IT WAS ALL HANGING TO THE TINT IN A MILLION PIECES. NO OBJECT STRUCK THE WINDOW. WHEN WE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER THEY STATED THAT IT WOULD NOT BE WARRANTED BECAUSE THEY COULD NOT TELL IF IT WAS A DEFECT OR NOT, SO IT WOULD BE UP TO US TO PAY FOR IT. I ASKED ABOUT THE PROBLEM WITH THE FORD EXCURSION BACK WINDOWS SHATTERING SINCE THIS IS ALSO ONE OF THEIR SUV'S. THEY DENIED ANY KNOWLEDGE OF PROBLEMS WITH WINDOWS SHATTERING. YET, THERE WAS A RECALL IN 2002. AS OF YET THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. *JB
I OWN A 2004 FORD EXCURSION WHICH HAS ON TWO OCCASIONS FAILED TO START AND WAS TOWED TO FAIRVIEW FORD. THE FIRST OCCURRENCE THE DEALER REPLACED THE CAMSHAFT SENSOR AND REFLASHED THE COMPUTER. THE SECOND INCIDENT THE CAR WAS ALSO TOWED BY ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE FROM MY DRIVEWAY. THE TOW TRUCK DRIVER WAS ALSO UNABLE TO START THE VEHICLE. I WAS CONTACTED LATER IN THE DAY BY MY SERVICE ADVISOR SAYING THAT THE VEHICLE STARTED FINE AND THEY WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. ON A THIRD OCCURRENCE THE VEHICLE STALLED IN A PARKING LOT AND WOULD NOT RESTART FOR MY WIFE. AFTER SHOPPING FOR APPROXIMATELY 45 MINUTES MY WIFE RETURNED AND WAS ABLE START THE VEHICLE AND IT WAS DRIVEN STRAIT TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER WAS AGAIN UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. I HAVE ALSO GIVEN FAIRVIEW FORD SIX ATTEMPTS TO FIX MISALIGNED DOORS THAT ARE VISIBLY MISALIGNED AND CAUSE THE DOOR TO HAVE TO BE SLAMMED TO CLOSE THEM. THE DOORS WERE MISALIGNED WHEN PURCHASED AND THE DEALER IS UNABLE TO FIX THEM. AT ONE POINT AFTER THE DEALER TRIED TO ALIGN THE FRONT DRIVERS SIDE DOOR I COULD STICK MY FINGERS IN BETWEEN THE DOOR AND THE BODY ALL THE WAY TO THE OUTSIDE WITH THE DOOR CLOSED. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP A TOTAL OF 35 DAYS AND NOW HAS 16K MILES. MY WIFE IS AFRAID TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE WITH MY THREE YOUNG CHILDREN FOR FEAR OF STALLING AND CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. *NM
DT: THE CALLER HAD RECALL WORK DONE ON HIS VEHICLE AND IT IS RUNNING WORSE THAN BEFORE. RECEIVED RECALL 05S34 CONCERNING INJECTION CONTROL PRESSURE SENSOR AND WIRING HARNESS. NOW, THE VEHICLE HAS PROBLEMS THAT IT DID NOT HAVE BEFORE THE RECALL. VEHICLE STALLS WHEN ENGINE IS COLD/HESITATES AND SURGES WHILE ACCELERATING. TOOK VEHICLE TO THE DEALER 4 TIMES SINCE JULY 19, 2005, AND IS NOW WAS TAKING IT TO THEM AGAIN. MANUFACTURER CAN NOT BE REACHED. *AK THE DEALER'S SERVICE MANAGER TOLD THE CONSUMER THAT HE MAY HAVE TO LIVE WITH THE ENGINEERING CHANGE FORD MADE TO THE ENGINE WHEN RECALL 05S34 WAS COMPLETED ON JULY 19, 2005. *NM
DT: VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED N AN ACCIDENT DUE TO BRAKE FAILURE. THE ABS WENT OUT. WHEN OPENED THE HOOD FOR INVESTIGATION THE MASTER CYCLINDER SEPARTED FROM THE BRAKE BOOSTER CYLINDER. NO LOCK ON BOLT AND THE NUT SHEARED ITSELF OFF. CALLED FORD AND LEFT MESSAGE. HAD TO PUT NEW TRANSMISSION AT 16,000 MILES AS WELL. HAD 2 MECHANICS LOOK AT THIS AND SUGGESTED FORD SHOULD TAKE NOTICE. *AK *TT
I WAS HAVING A PROBLEM WITH THE BRAKES ON MY 2004 FORD EXCURSION. THE FIRST TIME WAS AROUND MAY OF 2005 THE TRUCK HAD ABOUT 15000 MILES ON IT. AFTER DRIVING IT FOR SHORT TRIP, EVERY TIME I USED THE BRAKES, THE WHOLE FRONT END AND STEERING WHEEL WOULD SHAKE. THE DEALER MACHINED THE ROTORS AND SENT ME ON MY WAY. NOW IT HAS 38000 MILES AND IT'S DOING IT AGAIN. IT'S SO BAD THAT YOU FEEL LIKE EVERY TIME YOU BRAKE YOU MIGHT LOSE CONTROL. I DON'T THINK THE FRONT ROTORS ON THE TRUCK ARE UP TO STANDARDS. THE DEALER SAYS THEY CAN'T HELP DUE TO THE MILEAGE OF THE TRUCK. *NM
WHILE VEHICLE WAS PARKED FOR 3 HOURS AND REAR CARGO WINDOW SHATTERED. DEALERSHIP WAS NOTIFIED, BUT DID NOT RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. *AK
THE HEADLIGHT SWITCH BROKE WHICH STOPPED THE HEADLIGHTS FROM TURNING ON. THIS MADE IT DIFFICULT TO SEE THE ROAD, AND PREVENTED OTHER DRIVERS FROM SEEING THE VEHICLE.*AK
MY VEHICLE'S ENGINE WILL SURGE AND STALL. SOMETIMES BOTH THINGS WILL HAPPEN ON A GIVEN DAY OR JUST ONE. I HAVE HAD MY VEHICLE STALL COMING TO A STOP AND OR DRIVING. MY VEHICLE'S ENGINE HAS SURGED AND CAUSED MY CAR TO MOVE EVEN WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE. THIS HAS BEEN A ONGOING PROBLEM THAT FORD CAN NOT FIX. *AK
WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, A FIRE STARTED UNDER THE HOOD. CONSUMER MANAGED TO PULL OVER , AND PUT OUT THE FIRE. HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED. DEALERSHIP WAS NOTIFIED, BUT DID NOT RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. *AK
WHILE DRIVING,THE AUTOMATIC 4 WHEEL DRIVE ENGAGED WITHOUT WARNING. THE 4 WHEEL DRIVE LIGHT APPEARED ON THE DASHBOARD AND REMAINED ON. THE DRIVER DROVE TO THE DEALER. THE MECHANIC INFORMED THE DRIVER THAT THE PROBLEM CAN NOT BE DUPLICATE. THE DRIVER INFORMED THE MECHANIC THIS PROBLEM HAS HAPPEN BEFORE AND HAS NOT BEEN RESOLVED. PLEASE FILL FURTHER DETAILS. *JB
I HAVE A 2004 FORD EXCURSION WITH 9000 MILES ON IT PRESENTLY AND HAVE HAD NUMEROUS INCIDENTS WITH THE VEHICLE LOSING POWER AND GETTING STUCK IN THE MIDDE OF THE ROAD AND HIGHWAY. THIS PROBLEM FIRST OCCURED IN DECEMBER 2004 WITH 5000 MILES ON IT . SINCE THEN IT HAS BEEN BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP NUMEROUS TIMES FOR THE SAME PROBLEM AND I HAVE BEEN TOLD THEY CAN NOT FIND THE PROBLEM. THE PROBLEM DID OCCUR WHEN THEY DROVE THE TRUCK . THEY PUT A EGR VALVE AND REPROGRAMMED THE COMPUTER, SINCE THEN THEY ARE STUMPED AND SAID THEY CANT FIND THE PROBLEM. IT WAS JUST AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR A MONTH , IT ALSO HAD A RECALL TO OVERHAUL THE TRANSMISSION , SINCE I GOT THE TRUCK BACK THE LOSS OF POWER HAS OCCURRED TO MY WIFE AND KIDS . I FEEL THIS VEHICLE IS VERY UNSAFE AND SHOULD NOT BE ON THE ROAD FOR MY FAMILIES SAFETY AS WELL AS OTHERS. I SINCE SPOKE WITH FORD CUSTOMERS RELATIONS AND THEY TOLD ME THEY COULD NOT DO ANYTHING BECAUSE THE DEALERSHIP CAN NOT FIND THE PROBLEM. I HAD A 1998 EXPEDITION BEFORE BUYING MY 2004 EXCURION, AND I COULD NOT KEEP BRAKES ON THE EXPEDITION. WHEN SHOPPING FOR THE EXCURSION I MADE IT A POINT TO ASK IF THE BRAKES WERE MORE HEAVY DUTY DUE TO MY PROBLEMS ON THE EXPECITION. I WAS MISLEAD TO BELIEVE THAT THE TON FRAMEWORK WOULD TRANSLATE INTO MORE HEAVY DUTY BRAKE SYSTEMS. I HAD MY EXCURSION IN FOR SERVICE AT 20K AND REQUESTED MY BRAKES BE EXAMINED WHEN MY TIRES ARE ROTATED. I PICKED THE VEHICLE UP TO FIND THE TIRES WERE NEVER REMOVED OR ROTATED. DEALERSHIP APOLOGIZED, SAID MECHANIC COULD TELL BRAKES WERE FINE, AND THEY WOULD LOOK AT THEM IN 5K. AT MY NEXT SERVICE 2 MONTHS LATER, THEY SAID BRAKES LOOK FINE, BUT THEY NEVER DROVE IT TO OBSERVE THE SHAKING WHICH I TOLD THEM ABOUT AT 20000 AND 25000. *AK IN SUMMARY, I?VE BEEN PUSHED OFF BECAUSE (BASED ON THE COMPLAINTS ON YOUR WEB SITE) THEY DO NOT WANT TO REPLACE ROTORS UNDER WARRANTY. NOW I?M UPSET.
TRUCKS MOTOR CUTS OUT LOSING POWER AT DIFFRENT TIMES. WE HAVE BEEN CROSSING INTERSECTIONS AND PULLING OUT INTO TRAFFIC AND HAVE LOSE THE ACCURATION. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS. TRUCK HAS BEEN IIN SHOP NUMEROUS OF TIMES AND FORD IS UNALBE TO FIX PROBLEM.
WHILE DRIVING, VEHICLE WOULD STALL. THE DRIVER WAS ABLE TO RESTART AND NOTICED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD ACCELERATED SUDDENLY ON ITS OWN WITHOUT WARNING. THE DRIVER APPLIED THE BRAKES THE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR AND THE VEHICLE CONTINUE TO ACCELERATED WITH SPEED. THE DRIVER WAS ABLE TO MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND DROVE IT TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THE MECHANIC INFORMED THE DRIVER THAT THE PROBLEM CAN NOT BE DUPLICATED. *NM THERE WAS AN OIL LEAK. *SC
WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED WITH THE WINDOWS DOWN CONSUMER CAN SMELL EXHAUST FUMES. DEALERSHIP WAS NOTIFIED, BUT DID NOT RESOLVE THE PROBLEM.*AK
WHILE DRIVING, THE VEHICLE SURGED. THE CONSUMER WOULD SMELLED GAS FUMES INSIDE THE VEHICLE. THE DEALERSHIP WAS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM, BUT DID NOT RESOLVE IT. *AK THE TURBO WOULD NOT TURN ON AND WOULD NOT GO OVER 3500 RPM'S AND THERE WAS A FLUTTER TYPE OF SOUND COMING FROM THE DRIVER'S SIDE REAR QUARTER PANEL WHEN THE A/C WAS ON ONLY BY THE REAR A/C CONTROLLER. *SC
THE EP AND EGR SENSORS KEPT GOING OUT. WHEN THIS HAPPENED THE VEHICLE WILL RUN, BUT WILL NOT GET ANY POWER, SIMILAR TO STALLING. THIS OCCURRED THREE TIMES, DEALER CONTINUED TO SERVICE THE VEHICLE, AND THE PROBLEMS CAME BACK.*AK
DRIVERS SIDE REAR SEAT PASSENGER WINDOW SPONTANEOUSLY EXPLODED WHILE CAR PARKED IN DRIVEWAY. NOTHING HAD IMPACTED THE GLASS. FORD REFUSES TO HONOR ITS WARRANTY, CLAIMING NO PROOF THAT GLASS HAD NOT BEEN IMPACTED. GLASS REPLACED $529.28 AND PAINT TOUCHUP OF DOOR DAMAGE BY FALLING GLASS $133.75 MINOR CUT INJURY FROM GLASS FRAGMENTS.
WE PURCHASED 2004 FORD EXCURSION WITH THE 6.0L DIESEL ENGINE NEW IN FEBRUARY 2004. IT HAS BEEN TO THE DEALER NOW 2 TIMES FOR THE BACK UP SENSOR, APPROXIMATELY 5 TIMES FOR THE TURBO, UNABLE TO COUNT THE NUMBER OF TIMES FOR THE LACK OF POWER, THE VENT WINDOWS NOT WORKING, 3 TIMES FOR THE MOTOR ON THE POWER DRIVERS SEAT, BALL JOINTS 1 TIME, AND NOW OTHER FRONT END PARTS. THIS VEHICLE IS PRIMARILY USED TO GO TO CHURCH AND TRAVEL WITH THE ENTIRE FAMILY ON THE WEEKENDS FOR DAY TRIPS. WE HAVE HAD IT TO GRAHAM FORD SEVERAL TIMES, GERMAIN FORD SEVERAL TIMES, (BOTH ARE IN COLUMBUS, OHIO) AND THE LAST PLACE WE HAVE IT IS DONLEY FORD IN MOUNT VERNON, OHIO. WE CAN GET A FULL HISTORY OF ALL REPAIRS ON THIS VEHICLE IF NEEDED. THERE HAVE BEEN SO MANY THINGS GONE WRONG WITH THE TRUCK THAT IT IS DIFFICULT TO KEEP TRACK. THE SERVICE ADVISOR IS NOW TELLING MY WIFE TO "JUST TRADE IT IN". WE JUST WANT ALL OF THE PROBLEMS FIXED CORRECTLY AND FIND THE CAUSE OF THE ELECTRICAL FAILURES/ISSUES/PROBLEMS INSTEAD OF JUST FIXING WHAT BREAKS AND NOT FIXING THE CAUSE. WE PAID 50,000 BUCKS FOR THIS VEHICLE AND HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS. THE START WAS WHEN WE WANTED TO GO TO MAINE AND COULD NOT TAKE IT BUT HAD TO TAKE OUR OLDER CONVERSION VAN. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 FORD EXCURSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAS REMAINED ILLUMINATED IN THE PAST. THE VEHICLE SHUT DOWN AND WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO REPLACED THE EGR VALVE. WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE FAILURE RECURRED. SINCE THEN, THE EGR VALVE HAS BEEN REPLACED SEVERAL TIMES AND THE TURBO WAS CLEANED. THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY AT THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER OFFERED TO BUY BACK THE VEHICLE FOR HALF PRICE SO THAT IT CAN BE RESOLD. THE CURRENT MILEAGE IS 72,876 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 47,000. I HAVE TAKEN VEHICLE TO ARMSTRONG FORD, WORLD FORD, AND THEN SAWGRASS FORD AT LEAST 6 TIMES FOR THE SAME PROBLEM.... MY VEHICLE JUMPS FORWARD WHEN I AM NOT EVEN PUSHING ON THE GAS PEDAL. VEHICLE EXPERIENCED CRUISE CONTROL PROBLEMS. WHEN DRIVING DOWN A HILL CRUISE CONTROL DISENGAGED. WHEN THE DRIVER PRESSED CRUISE CONTROL IT WILL NOT ENGAGE, AND VEHICLE WILL CONTINUE TO SLOW DOWN, AND THEN IT STALLED. *AK
PURCHASED NEW 2004 FORD EXCURSION ON 3/9/2004. WITHIN A MONTH WE DISCOVERED A PROBLEM WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL. WHEN GOING DOWN HILL, THE UNIT WOULD FAIL TO RE-ENGAGE AS IT STARTED BACK UP THE HILL. SOMETIMES IT WOULD RE-ENGAGE WITH A MASSIVE SURGE OF ENGINE. ONCE THE ENGINE TOTALLY STALLED FORCING US TO FIGHT THE VEHICLE OFF THE ROAD AND OUT OF THE FLOW OF TRAFFIC. AFTER THREE RETURNS TO THE DEALERSHIP, THEY FINALLY ADMITTED THAT THERE IS A KNOWN DEFECT AND FORD IS WORKING ON DETERMINING A FIX. WE HAVE BEEN CALLING AND WAITING SINCE APRIL, 2004 TO HAVE THIS REPAIRED. IN THE MEANTIME, WE DO NOT DARE USE THE CRUISE CONTROL FOR FEAR OF ANOTHER STALL IN HEAVY TRAFFIC. WE HAVE CONTINUALLY CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND FORD MOTOR (REFERENCE NUMBER 1684711834). EACH TIME WE CALL, THEY ASK THE SAME QUESTIONS OVER AND OVER AND HAVE YET TO TELL US AN ESTIMATED DATE FOR A FIX. VEHICLE HAS HAD A VIBRATION SINCE IT WAS NEW. HAVE PUT 4 DIFFERENT SETS OF TIRES AND 2 DIFFERENT SETS OF WHEELS AND VIBRATION STILL EXISTS. FORD HAS TRIED TO NARROW DOWN WHERE VIBRATION IS COMING FROM, BUT THE DEALERSHIP IS AT A LOSS. KEEP POINTING THEIR FINGER AT THE TIRES, HOWEVER THE DEALERSHIP BALANCED THE TIRES THEMSELVES AND AGREED THAT THE VIBRATION STILL EXISTS.
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
CONSUMER CHECKED THE INTERNET AND FOUND THAT THERE WERE MANY PEOPLE WHO WERE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS THAT HE WAS HAVING. VEHICLE COULD NOT BE ALIGNED. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER FOR AN ALIGNMENT, BUT VEHICLE STILL WANDERED LEFT AND RIGHT. MECHANIC CLAIMED THERE WAS NO RESOLUTION FOR THE PROBLEM. *AK
LACK OF HEADRESTS ON REAR SEAT AND MIDDLE SEAT FORD EXCURSION MODELS. CERVICAL SPINE INJURY RISKS AND UNACCEPTABLE. I CANNOT BELIEVE FORD HAS BEEN ALLOWED TO GET AWAY WITH THIS. A RECALL IS IN ORDER.
NO HEAD REST ON REAR SEAT OF EXCURSIONS AND NO SHOULDER BELTS ON CENTER REAR SEATS. THESE SAFETY FEATURES WERE DEVELOPED SPECIFICALLY TO PREVENT CERVICAL SPINE AND LUMBAR SPINE INJURIES AND THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR THESE BEING ABSENT. I COULD SEE FORD THEORETICALLY BEING HELD LIABLE IF PERSONS WERE INJURED DUE TO LACK OF THESE FEATURES. I STRONGLY BELIEVE FORD SHOULD PROVIDE AN AFTERMARKET SOLUTION TO SOLVE THIS PROBLEM. DR. W. J.
