UPON RECEIVING RECALL 05V170000 CONCERNING CRUISE CONTROL DEACTIVATION SWITCH VEHICLE CAUGHT ON FIRE. CONSUMER CONTACTED FORD, AND WAS TOLD THEY COULD NOT TALK TO HIM. *AK
AFTER VEHICLE WAS PARKED FOR 5 HOURS, A FIRE STARTED UNDER THE HOOD. VEHICLE WAS TOTALED. THE DEALERSHIP WILL BE NOTIFIED. *AK
WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH AND COMING OFF A RAMP VEHICLE WOULD NOT SLOW DOWN WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES.*AK PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL THE ENGINE CONTINUED TO RACE. IT WAS TO THE POINT CONSUMER THOUGHT IT WOULD SEIZE OR EXPLODE. THE ONLY WAY TO STOP THE VEHICLE WAS TO SIMPLY SHUT OFF THE ENGINE. THERE WAS A LOT OF SMOKE AND BURNING COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A SERVICE STATION BUT THEY WERE UNABLE TO FIND THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM. *BF *NM
I NOTICED WHEN EVER I DROVE MY CAR IN THE RAIN WATER WOULD LEAK ON MY RIGHT LEG AND FOOT, MY WIPERS, RADIO AND CLOCK WOULD STOP WORKING AND I HEARD A SIZZLING NOISE IN THE LEFT DASH AREA. I ALSO WAS UNABLE TO USE MY KEYLESS REMOTE, THE ALARM WOULD GO OFF EVERY TIME. I BROUGHT MY 2000 EXPEDITION TO HAYWARD FORD TO HAVE THEM CHECK AND REPAIR THE PROBLEM IN MARCH OF THIS YEAR. THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING LEAKING, OR THE SIZZLING NOISE I HEARD IN THE DASH, HOWEVER THEY DID TELL ME THERE WAS A DAMAGED JUNCTION BOX AND KEPT MY CAR FOR 5 DAYS (THEY WERE WAITING FOR THE PARTS TO COME), WELL AFTER 5 DAYS OF HAVING A RENTAL THAT ALSO COST ME MONEY, I WENT AND PICKED UP MY EXPEDITION. IT MADE NO SENSE TO ME TO HAVE THE JUNCTION BOX REPLACED SINCE THEY COULD NOT FIND WHERE THE LEAKING PROBLEM WAS. ON JUNE 8, 2005 I BROUGHT MY EXPEDITION INTO ANOTHER FORD DEALER (THE FORD STORE SAN LEANDRO) HOPING THEY COULD FIND THE PROBLEM. WELL THEY FOUND THE PROBLEM, THEY SAID THE WINDSHIELD WAS LEAKING AND HAD CAUSED DAMAGE TO THE CENTRAL JUNCTION BOX AND GEM MODULE. THIS WAS ALSO WHY I WAS UNABLE TO USE MY KEYLESS REMOTE. I WAS ALSO INFORMED THAT THESE REPAIRS WERE NOT COVERED BY ESP WARRANTY. I WAS TOLD THAT THIS WAS A CIRCUMSTANTIAL ISSUE. THEY ALSO HAD TO REPLACE THE WINDSHIELD BECAUSE WHEN THEY REMOVED IT, IT BROKE. SO $1,327.78 AND EIGHT DAYS LATER MY EXPEDITION WAS REPAIRED. BUT WHEN THEY REPLACED THE WINDSHIELD, THEY SCRATCHED MY DASH BOARD IN TWO PLACES. HAVING READ AN ARTICLE ON CNN.COM, "FEDS PROBE FORD SUV WATER-LEAK REPORTS", I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE MY COSTS RE-IMBURSED,AS THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL ITEM.
WHILE PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY VEHICLE CAUGHT ON FIRE. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT STATED IT SEEMED TO HAVE BEEN AN ELECTRICAL MALFUNCTION. AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE WAS A TOTAL LOSS. *AK
AFTER HAVING THE VEHICLE PARKED FOR THIRTY MINUTES IT CAUGHT ON FIRE. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE. THE CAUSE HAD NOT BEEN DETERMINED AT THIS TIME. *AK
PARKED VEHICLE AT ABOUT 8:30 AM ABOUT HALF HOUR LATER THE VEHICLE CAUGHT ON FIRE. THE FIRE WAS COMING FROM ENGINE COMPARTMENT ON DRIVER'S SIDE NEAR THE FRONT WHEEL. VEHICLE HAD THE CRUISE CONTROL DEACTIVATION SWITCH DISCONNECTED PER FORD INSTRUCTION. NO PROBLEMS WITH THE VEHICLE PRIOR TO THE FIRE. CRUISE CONTROL WORKED PRIOR TO BEING DISCONNECTED. ENGINE HAD BEEN REPLACED AT A FORD DEALER ABOUT 14 MONTHS AGO. THE NEW MOTOR HAS ABOUT 33,000 MILES ON IT. PICTURES WILL BE E-MAILED TO BRUCE YORK. NO AFTER MARKET EQUIPMENT. VEHICLE WAS INSURED BY A AFFORDABLE INSURANCE, MICHAEL, 800-877-0226, EXTENSION 2179, POLICY #TXB75747800. *AK
DT: THE VEHICLE WAS RUNNING ROUGH, AND THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT APPEARED. TOOK VEHICLE TO THE DEALER, AND THEY SAID MANIFOLD WAS CRACKED.*AK
FIRE TO A 2000 FORD EXPEDITION. OWNER STATES THAT THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN PARKED IN THE CARPORT FOR ABOUT 20 MINUTES WHEN HE NOTICED FIRE DRIPPING DOWN UNDER THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT NEAR THE LEFT FRONT TIRE. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED BY FIRE AND THE FIRE SPREAD TO THE HOUSE RENDERING IT A TOTAL LOSS. OWNER ALSO REPORTS ONLY ISSUE WITH VEHICLE WAS THAT THE CRUISE CONTROL STOPPED WORKING SERVERAL DAYS PRIOR TO THE FIRE. *JB
ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS MY LIGHTS AND/OR RADIO AND OR WIPERS WOULD GIVE OUT DURING A RAIN STORM. ON THE LAST OCCASION MY CAR'S ELECTRICAL SYSTEM FAILED AND MY CAR TURNED OFF. I COULD NOT RE-START UNTIL NEXT DAY. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME THAT WATER HAD SEEPED IN BETWEEN THE WINDSHIELD AND INTO THE ELECTRICAL CONTROL BOX. THEY WOULD HAVE TO REMOVE THE WINDSHIELD, RE-CAULK IT, REPLACE THE GEM AND FUSE BOXES AND THAT WOULD TAKE CARE OF THE PROBLEM. THIS WAS NOT UNDER WARRANTY BECAUSE THE CAULKING HAD DETERIORATED WITH TIME AS IT NORMALLY WOULD. I'VE HAD CARS FOR 10 TO 15 YEARS AND THE CAULKING ON THE WINDSHIELD HAS NEVER DETERIORATED LIKE THIS. THE SUV IS ONLY 4 YRS OLD ANYWAY. MY PROBLEM WAS COMPOUNDED BY THE FACT THAT THEY BROKE THE WINDSHIELD DURING THIS PROCESS AND I WAS STUCK FOR THAT COST ALSO. TOTAL OF $1,223.67. *JB
A RECALL (05V017000) FOR THE CRUISE CONTROL WAS ISSUED, HOWEVER THE DEALER STATES THE PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE SO THEY DISCONNECTED THE CRUISE CONTROL CABLE. AS A RESULT THE HORN IS INOPERABLE. PLEASE PROVIDE ADDITIONAL INFORMATION. *NM
FORD VEHICLE CATCHES ON FIRE AND DESTROYS HOME AND CONTENTS. INDEPENDENT INVESTIGATOR HAS CONFIRMED THE FIRE AND ITS DAMAGE. *AK
FORD RECALL # 05S28 CALLS FOR THE DISCONNECTION OF THE CRUISE CONTROL MODULE. THIS ALSO DISCONNECTS THE HORN. IT IS A STATE LAW IN ILLINOIS THAT EACH VEHICLE HAVE A HORN THAT CAN BE HEARD FROM 200 FEET. I HAVE CONTACTED FORD THREE TIMES, AND BEEN TO THE DEALERSHIP TWICE, NEITHER TIME RECEIVING AN ANSWER TO THIS PROBLEM. *JB
WHILE PARKED FOR APPROXIMATELY FIVE HOURS VEHICLE CAUGHT ON FIRE. THE CAUSE OF THIS WAS UNDETERMINED.*AK
DT: CONSUMER WAS PARKED IN FRONT OF HOUSE. AFTER ABOUT 2-1/2 HOURS CONSUMER NOTICED SMOKE COMING FROM UNDERNEATH THE HOOD. CONSUMER THEN UNHOOKED THE CRUISE CONTROL WIRES BECAUSE CONSUMER NOTICED THAT WAS THE PART CAUSING THE SMOKE. NO PREVIOUS INCIDENTS. VEHICLE IS SERVICED REGULARLY. THIS HAPPENED ABOUT MIDDLE OF THE DAY. *TT
DT: TRUCK STARTED SMOKING AND CAUGHT ON FIRE IN PARKING LOT. THE FIRE OCCURED PRIOR TO THE CONSUMER RECEIVING THE RECALL NOTICE FOR THE FAULTY CRUISE CONTROL WHICH CAUSED THE FIRE. THE TRUCK WAS TOTALED. *AK *NM
NORMAL DRIVING AND HEARD LOUD NOISES UNDER THE HOOD. TURNED OUT TO BE A BLOWN SPARK PLUG IN THE PASSENGER SIDE HEAD. I MANAGED TO PULL OFF FREEWAY AFTER SEVERAL MILES AND HAVE IT TOWED TO DEALER. HAVE JUST READ ABOUT A LOT OF FORD TRUCK OWNERS EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUE WITH SOME EXPERIENCING IT MORE THAN ONCE! I AM NOT HAPPY. TRUCK AT CARS101 SERVICE DEPT NOW IN HOPES THAT IT CAN BE REPAIRED BUT FROM I'VE BEEN READING I'M NOT SURE. *JB
WHILE PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY VEHICLE CAUGHT ON FIRE. AS A RESULT, PART OF THE OWNERS HOUSE AND ANOTHER PARKED VEHICLE WERE DAMAGED BY THE FLAMES. NO INJURIES REPORTED. VEHICLE WAS CONSIDERED A TOTAL LOSS.*AK
WHILE CAR WAS PARKED IN DRIVEWAY, A FIRE STARTED SPONTANEOUSLY. I WAS AWOKEN BY A PASSERBY BY DOORBELL AT 0555 IN THE MORNING. WHEN I OPENED MY FRONT DOOR MY 2000 FORD EXPEDITION WAS ON FIRE. THE HOOD WAS ON FIRE AND THEIR WERE MULTIPLE EXPLOSIONS SPARKS FLYING EVERYWHERE AS WELL AS GLASS. THE TIRES IN FRONT WERE ALSO ON FIRE. THEIR IS EXTENSIVE DAMAGE TO THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE AS WELL AS THE INTERIOR. HOWEVER, THE BACK OF THE VEHICLE DOES NOT LOOK BAD ON THE OUTSIDE BUT IS COMPLETELY TORCHED ON THE INSIDE. THE FIRE WAS SO INTENSE THAT IT RUINED MY GARAGE DOOR AND HAS ALTERED THE LOOK OF THE BRICK ON THE FRONT OF MY HOUSE. THE DRIVEWAY IS ALSO DAMAGE AS WELL AS THE LAWN FROM THE EXTENSIVE HEAT. GLASS WAS BLOWN ALL OVER THE LAWN. I ATTEMPTED TO CALL FORD TODAY WITH NO SUCCESS. LUCKILY BECAUSE OF THE PASSERBY MY CHILDREN WERE NOT INJURED AND MY HOUSE IS STILL INTACT. I SERIOUSLY BELIEVE THAT HAD THE FIRE DEPT BEEN 5 MINUTES LATER MY WHOLE HOUSE WOULD HAVE BEEN ENGULFED IN FLAMES. MY GAS WATER HEATERS ARE LOCATED DIRECTLY ABOVE THE GARAGE. SEEING THAT THE SEALANT ON THE GARAGE DOORS WAS COMPLETELY MELTED AS WELL AS THE METAL DOOR, IT WOULDN'T OF TAKEN MUCH MORE TO IGNITE THE GAS WATER HEATERS. I WANT TO DO SOMETHING TO HELP OTHER CITIZENS KNOW OF THIS DANGER BEFORE THEIR CAR OR HOUSE IS DESTROYED. WHAT CAN I DO TO HELP? *JB
THE CONSUMER PARKED THE VEHICLE AT 11:00AM, AT AROUND 11:30AM THE CONSUMER SAW A FIRE IN THE VEHICLE. THE FIRE WAS COMING FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. PRIOR TO THE FIRE THERE WERE NO PROBLEMS. THE VEHICLE HAD CRUISE CONTROL, BUT THE CONSUMER NEVER USED IT. *JB
2000 EXPEDITION HEATER BLOWER HAD TO BE MANUALLY TURNED OFF AFTER KEYS WERE REMOVED FROM IGNITION. WHEN ATTEMPTED TO START VEHICLE IT WOULD NOT START. *TS THE FUSE BOX WAS RUSTED, CORRODED AND FULL OF WATER. THIS WAS THE RESULT OF THE WINDSHIELD NOT BEING SEALED PROPERLY. *NM
(1) AIR BAG LIGHT STAYS ON AFTER VEHICLE STARTED. (2) DEALER STATED AIR BAG WOULD NOT DEPLOY IN ACCIDENT UNLESS SENSOR REPLACED. (3) SENSOR HAS BEEN REPLACED ONCE AND WIRING HARNESS HAS BEEN REPLACED ONCE. (1) INSTRUMENT CLUSTER ODOMETER FLICKERED THEN FAILED. (3) INSTRUMENT CLUSTER REPLACED. (1) ENGINE KNOCK (2) 5.4 ENGINE FAILED AT 32,000 MILES. (3) ENGINE REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY. (1) TRANSMISSION SLIPPING AT 55,000 MILES. (2) TRANSMISSION SLIPPING. (3) TRANSMISSION REPLACED. (1) TRANSMISSION BEGAN SLIPPING AGAIN AT 76,000 MILES. (2) HIGH RPM BEFORE SHIFTING INTO NEXT GEAR. (3) BODY ASSEMBLY REPLACED UNDER EXTENDED WARRANTY. *JB

WHILE DRIVING, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL STICKS. THE CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER, AND WAS TOLD THE THROTTLE SYSTEM NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. HOWEVER, THE PROBLEM STILL EXIST. I AM THE OWNER OF A 2000 FORD EXPEDITION....EDDIE BAUER, FULLY LOADED, 5.4 TRITON V8.....I PURCHASED IT BRAND NEW IN FEB. OF 2000.....YESTERDAY(1/26/05) I STOPPED AT MY MOTHERS HOUSE AND WAS INSIDE FOR ABOUT AN HOUR OR SO. I WALKED OUTSIDE TO LEAVE AND MY MOTHER AND I STOOD IN THE DRIVEWAY AND TALKED FOR ABOUT 15 MINUTES OR SO. AT ONE POINT MY MOTHER NOTICED SMOKE STARTED POURING FROM MY HOOD. THE TRUCK HAD BEEN PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY FOR AN HOUR OR SO AND WAS NOT RUNNING AT THE TIME. I POPPED THE HOOD AND SMOKE WAS POURING FROM MY MASTER BRAKE CYLINDER. AND WITH IN A MINUTE FLAMES STARTED TO COME FROM THAT AREA. I IMMEDIATELY HOOKED THE WATER HOSE UP AND PUT OUT THE FLAMES. I HAD IT TOWED AND SPOKE WITH INSURANCE, AND THEY AGREED TO COVER THE DAMAGES. THIS MORNING, I NOTICED ON THE YAHOO HEADLINES THAT FORD IS RECALLING 800,000 VEHICLES. I READ THE ARTICLE AND IT SIAD IT ONLY AFFECTED THE 2000 MODEL EXPEDITIONS AND F150'S AND NAVIGATORS. IT STATED THAT THE DEFECT WAS CAUSED FROM THE CRUISE CONTROL SHORTINGT OUT AND CAUSE FIRES UNDER THE HOOD. I ALSO READ THE 3 FIRES HAD BEEN REPORTED. I GUESS I AM #37. MY CRUSIE CONTROL STOPPED WORKING OVER A YEAR AGO, BUT IT WAS LONG OUT OF WARRANTY AND I NEVER FELT THE NEED TO GET IT FIXED, IT WASNT A BIG DEAL TO ME. BUT HAD I NOT BEEN OUTSIDE WHEN THE FIRE STARTED IT WOULD HAVE BURNT THE TRUCK TO THE GROUND, PROBABLY THE BRAND NEW NISSAN TITAN PARKED NEXT TO IT AND POSSIBLY EVEN THE HOUSE COULD HAVE RECIEVED DAMAGE. MY MAIN CONCERN IS THAT HAD THIS HAPPEND WHEN I WAS AT HOME, MY HOUSE AND ALL MY POSSESIONS WOULD BE GONE TODAY. I PARK MY EXPEDITION IN THE GARAGE AT ALL TIMES. HAD IT HAPPENED THERE, MY HOUSE WOULD HAVE BEEN DESTROYED. THIS ANNOUNCEMENT SEEMS A LITTLE LATE FOR MY CONCERNS. JUST THOUGHT I SHOULD REPORT THIS INCIDENT. I JUST FOUND OUT THE FORD IS NOW RECALLING THE 2000 EXPEDITION'S DUE TO THE CRUISE CONTROL ISSUE. TWO YEARS AGO, I WAS ON MY WAY UP NORTH AND GAS WAS STUCK AND PRECEDED TO EXCEL. I GOT OFF AT BIRCH RUN WHILE FIGHTING THE GAS WITH MY BREAKS. AFTER RUNNING SEVERAL STOP LIGHTS, DRIVING RECKLESS TO GET TO A SAFE PLACE TO STOP, I ENDED UP LEAVING MY TRUCK PARKED IN A PARKING LOT FOR THE WEEKEND. I DROVE THE TRUCK TO A FORD DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME THAT NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH IT. IT HAPPENED AGAIN A COUPLE DIFFERENT TIMES ON MY WAY TO WORK IN WHICH I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP. THEY DISCOVERED THE PROBLEM AND TOLD ME TO CONTINUE DRIVING IT UNTIL THEY GOT THE PART IN. I ENDED UP HAVING TO PAY FOR HALF OF THE BILL DESPITE IT BEING FORD'S ISSUE. PLUS, I ENDED UP HAVING TO BUY NEW BREAKS DUE TO THEM BEING WORN OUT HAVING TO FIGHT THE SPEED ACCELERATION WITH MY BREAKS. THIS PAST SUNDAY, IT HAS STARTED AGAIN. WE LEFT THE PALACE OF AUBURN HILLS AND THE TRUCK WAS SAYING WE WERE GOING 100 MILES AN HOUR DOWN LAPEER RD WITH TRAFFIC! WHAT ON EARTH AM I SUPPOSED TO DO? KEEP DRIVING THIS TRUCK AND RISK MY LIFE, MY 6 WEEK OLD SON'S LIFE, OR SOMEONE ELSE'S LIFE? I'M SCARED TO DEATH TO DRIVE THIS TRUCK BUT I CAN'T AFFORD TO GET OUT OF THE LEASE OR FIGHT FORD WITH AN ATTORNEY. HELP!*AK
THE CONSUMER WAS TRAVELING AT 40 MPH, WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL BECAME STUCK. THE CONSUMER REMOVED HIS FOOT FROM THE PEDAL AND THE VEHICLE WENT UP TO 60 MPH. THE CONSUMER EXITED THE HIGHWAY, PLACED THE VEHICLE INTO NEUTRAL AND SHUT THE VEHICLE OFF. AFTER GETTING BACK ONTO THE HIGHWAY, THE VEHICLE PROCEEDED TO GO TO 80 MPH ON ITS OWN. THIS HAPPENED THREE TIMES IN ONE DAY. *JB

'RECALL CAMPAIGN' TREAD SEPARATION. CONSUMER CONTACTED THE DEALER WHO SOLD HIM THE TIRES. FOUND THAT THERE WAS A RECALL FOR CONTINENTAL, P275/60R17 0051612.*AK *BF WHILE DRIVING THE CONSUMER NOTICED A VIBRATION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO HAVE AN ALIGNMENT WHEN HE WAS INFORMED THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE FRONT TIRE TREAD HAD SEPARATED AND THAT A SECOND TIRE WAS HAVING A SIMILAR PROBLEM. THE CONSUMER REPLACED THE TIRES AND LATER FOUND OUT THAT THEY WERE RECALLED. THE CONSUMER REQUEST REIMBURSEMENT FOR THE FAULTY TIRES. *NM

I OWN A 2000 FORD EXPEDITION. I BOUGHT IT IN 2002 FROM MAGARITY FORD. IT HAD 21000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE. I HAVE NOT HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE VEHICLE UNTIL THIS POINT. WAS DRIVING HOME ON 1/6/2004 ON RT 55 IN NEW JERSEY. THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND I CAME OFF THE HIGHWAY.THE TRUCK WAS SHIMMERING, AND I COULD HEAR A TAPPING NOISE. I STOPPED AT PEPBOYS AND THE MECHANIC WAS NICE ENOUGH TO LOOK AT THE VEHICLE. HOWEVER WHEN I TURNED IT ON IT WOULD NOT START. I HAD IT TOWED TO THER DEALERSHIP WHICH WAS 1/2 MILE AWAY. HOLMAN FORD IN GLASSBORO, NJ. I WAS TOLD THAT THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. IT WOULD COST $5400 WHICH I DID NOT HAVE. THERE WAS OIL IN THE TRUCK AND I RECENTLY RECIEVED AN OIL CHANGE. I HAD ANOTHER MECHANIC LOOK AT IT AND HE SAID THERE WAS OIL IN THE ENGINE, BUT IT WAS NOT LUBRICATING. HE HAD A CAMERA THAT LOOKED INSIDE AND HE REPORTED THAT IT WAS DESTROYED. FORD REFUSED TO DO ANYTHING ,AND DENIEDC ANY WRONG DOING. I AM PAYING A $585 CAR NOTE AND INSURANCE ON A VEHICLE THAT DOES NOT WORK. THE CAR IS OUT OF WARRANTY AND THEY CLAIM THAT THERE IS NOTHING THAT THEY CAN DO.*AK HOWEVER DIFFERENT CONSUMER WEBSITES HAVE EXPERIENCED THE SAME PROBLEM. I MET SOMEONE ON WED. THAT OWNS A 2001 EXPEDITION. HIS ENGINE WENT LAST MONTH AND HE CAN NOT AFFORD TO GET HIS FIXED EITHER. IT IS NOT A COINCIDENCE THAT EXPEDITION OWNERS ARE HAVING THIS PROBLEM. MY DAUGHTER'S TEACHER HAD A FORD CAR AND EXPERIENCED THE SAME PROBLEM LAST YEAR. ALL OF THIS BEING SAID, I NEED HELP. I CAN NOT AFFORD TO PAY THIS CAR NOTE, INSURANCE AND RENT CARS TO GO TO WORK. I AM STRUGGLING AND FRUSTRATED AT FORD'S LACK OF RESPONSIBILTY AND POOR WORKMANSHIP.
WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH CONSUMER'S VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A FRONTAL COLLISION. UPON IMPACT, BOTH FRONTAL AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. DRIVER AND PASSENGER SUSTAINED MINOR INJURIES, AND WERE TRANSPORTED TO A HOSPITAL. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A GARAGE. *AK

THE CONSUMER STATED THAT A RECALL WAS MADE ON THE VEHICLE FOR THE CRUISE CONTROL. THE CONSUMER CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD TO BRING THE CAR IN WHICH WAS IN FEBURARY, THE CONSUMER WAS TOLD THAT PARTS WOULD ARRIVE IN APRIL, THE CONSUMER CALLED THE DEALERSHIP LAST WEEK AND WAS TOLD THE PART WAS THERE AND TO BRING THE CAR IN TODAY, WHICH WAS DONE. WHEN THE CONSUMER ARRIVED AT THE DEALERSHIP, THE PART HAD BEEN GIVEN TO ANOTHER CUSTOMER. THE NEXT CLOSEST DEALER WAS 73 MILES AWAY. THE SERVICE MANAGER TOLD THE CUSTOMER THAT THEY DID NOT KNOW WHEN THE NEXT PART WOULD ARRIVE. *JB *SC *JB

I HAVE A 2000 FORD EXPEDITION. THERE ARE MANY ELECTRICAL ISSUES WITH THIS CAR. I UNDERSTAND THAT IT IS DUE TO WATER AND MOISTURE GETTING INTO THE GEM. THE BIGGEST ISSUE FROM THIS IS THE CHILD SAFETY DOOR LOCKS DO NOT ENGAGE SOMETIMES. I HAVE TWO SMALL CHILDREN THAT RIDE IN THE BACK AND THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE THAT I FEEL SHOULD BE RECALLED BEFORE A SERIOUS (OR EVEN FATAL) ACCIDENT OCCURS. THE GEM CAN BE REPLACED BUT THIS CONTINUES TO HAPPEN AS LONG AS THE MOISTURE CAN DRAIN INTO IT. WE HAVE BEEN BATTLING THIS PROBLEM FOR YEARS WITH NO RESULTS. *TR
MY 2000 FORD EXPEDITION AFTER NOT BEING DRIVEN FOR OVER 6 HOURS CAUGHT ON FIRE. THE FIRE STARTED IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT AND IN A TIME SPAN OF 15 MINUTES WAS A TOTAL LOSS. THE FIRE BURNED THE FRONT OF MY HOUSE MELTING THE SIDING AND THE GARAGE DOOR. *JB
