I WAS DRIVING AT ABOUT 45 MPH WHEN THE SPARK PLUG BLEW OUT. PULLED VEHICLE OFF THE ROAD AND IT TOWED TO A MECHANIC. THE WHOLE MOTOR HAD TO BE TAKEN OUT TO FIX THE PROBLEM. *TR

I HAVE EXPERIENCED A WINDSHIELD LEAK ON MY 2001 FORD EXPEDITION. THIS HAS LEAD TO UNWANTED ELECTRICAL ACTIVITY WHEN THE VEHICLE IS UNATTENDED. THIS HAS INCLUDED THE RADIO COMING ON OR THE BLOWER MOTOR RUNNING AND EVEN THE STARTER ENGAGING WITH THE KEY REMOVED. I AM VERY CONCERNED ABOUT A POSSIBLE FIRE! *TR
MY WIFE WAS DRIVING ON THE ROAD WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN THE ENGINE STARTED MAKING A LOUD SOUND AND WOULDN'T HARDLY RUN. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT NEVER CAME. I TOLD HER TO CALL FOR A TOW TRUCK WHEN IT HAPPENED THE FIRST TIME AND HE TOLD HER THE SPARK PLUG HAD BLOWN OUT OF THE ENGINE ON THE LEFT BANK. THEN EXACTLY A YEAR LATER IT HAPPENED AGAIN ONLY ON THE RIGHT SIDE WHEN MY WIFE WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND THE CHECK ENGINE NEVER CAME THAT TIME EITHER. WE HAD THE ENGINE REPLACED AT THE EXPENSE OF $5200.00. THIS WAS ON A 2001 FORD EXPEDITION WITH 88,000 MILES ON IT. BECAUSE THIS WAS THE 2ND THE SPARK PLUG HAD BLOWN OUT AND THE FORD DEALERSHIP QUOTED US 13 TO 15 HOURS TO REPAIR THE HOLE, $4800.00 TO REPLACE THE HEADS OR $5300.00 TO REPLACE THE MOTOR WITH A 100,00 MILE WARRANTY. *TR
MY 2001 FORD EXPEDITION ERUPTED IN FLAMES AT 3 AM ON MAY 29TH, 2009. IT HAD BEEN PARKED FOR 12 HOURS IN MY DRIVEWAY. I WAS NEVER NOTIFIED BY FORD ABOUT A RECALL, NOR DID MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP WHO SERVICED MY EXPEDITION WARN ME OF A RECALL. AFTER ARSON AND EXPLOSIVE DETECTIVES AND DEPARTMENTS EXAMINED MY VEHICLE IT WAS FOUND TO BE A FAULTY CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH. THE VEHICLE WAS A TOTAL LOSS AND ONLY LIABILITY COVERAGE WAS IN EFFECT. *TR
SPARK PLUG WAS BLOWN OUT OF ENGINE WHEN VEHICLE WAS STARTED, BREAKING THE COIL WHICH SITS ON TOP OF SPARK PLUG. FOUND INFO ON INTERNET THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH FORD TRITON ENGINES DUE TO FAILURE OF ALUMINUM THREADS IN ENGINE INTAKE; PROBLEM PRESENTS A FIRE HAZARD SHOULD FUEL BE INJECTED INTO CYLINDER AND IGNITED WHEN SPARK PLUG IS BLOWN OUT. *TR
DRIVING ALONG INTERSTATE,HEARD A HORRIBLE NOISE. STOPPED, LIFTED HOOD AND REALIZED FACTORY INSTALLED SPARK PLUG ON MY 2001 FORD EXPEDITION WITH 5.4 TRITON MOTOR HAD BLOWN OUT. MECHANIC REPLACED COIL,HELI=COIL AND SPARK PLUG. *TR
VEHICLE CAUGHT FIRE AFTER BEING OFF & PARKED FOR 3 1/2 HOURS. *TR
MY 2001 FORD EXPEDITION CAUGHT ON FIRE AND BURNED IN THE PARKING LOT AT THE VA REGIONAL OFFICE. I LEARNED LATER THAT THERE HAVE BEEN ISSUES WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL FEATURE THAT COULD POTENTIALLY BE THE CAUSE OF THE OCCURRENCE. *TR
PERSISTENT PROBLEMS WITH THIS VEHICLE ARE FAILURES OF THE IGNITION COILS AND BOOTS (5.4L ONLY), AND RESTRICTION OF THE EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION (EGR) PASSAGES INSIDE THE INTAKE PLENUM (4.6L ONLY). THE COST TO REPAIR THE IGNITION COILS AND BOOTS IS ESTIMATED AT $103.00 FOR PARTS AND $32.50 FOR LABOR FOR EACH DEFECTIVE COIL. THE COST TO CLEAN THE EGR PASSAGES IS ESTIMATED AT $4.00 FOR PARTS AND $65.00 FOR LABOR. ALL PRICES ARE ESTIMATES BASED ON $65.00 PER FLAT RATE HOUR AND DO NOT INCLUDE DIAGNOSTIC TIME OR ANY APPLICABLE SALES TAX. *TR
WINDSHIELD LEAKING WATER CAUSING ERRATIC AND UNPREDICTABLE INTERMITTENT ELECTRICAL FAILURES IN A 2001 FORD EXPEDITION. WINDSHIELD WIPER OPERATION IS EFFECTED BY WATER INTRUSION INTO THE FUSE PANEL AND GEM AS STATED IN FORD MOTOR COMPANY ADVISORY. WHEN VEHICLE IS PLACED INTO DRIVE IT OPERATION OF THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS IS EITHER NON OPERATIONAL OR ONLY OPERATIONAL WHEN VEHICLE IS PLACED BACK INTO PARK. THIS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE WHICH HAS BEEN SWEPT UNDER THE RUG BY FORD MOTOR COMPANY. THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN DOCUMENTED BY NUMEROUS COMPLAINT ON THIS WEB SITE ALONE. BUT UNTIL SOMEONE IS INJURED OR KILLED WELL THIS ISSUE COME TO LIGHT AND ACTION TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM WHICH EFFECT MANY FAMILIES THAT USE THESE VEHICLES EVERYDAY RAIN OR SHINE. FORD EXPEDITION EDDIE BAUER 2001 THE SPARK PLUG BURST OUT OF THE ENGINE HEAD; CAUSING SPARKS INSIDE THE FRONT AREA CAUSING DIFFICULT TO DRIVE THE CAR ON THE HIGHWAY. THERE WAS A SLIGHT FIRE - LUCKILY NO INJURY. *TR
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY IN ALASKA GOING ABOUT 70 WHEN THERE WAS A LOUD BANGING SOUND AND IT FELT LIKE I LOST COMPRESSION. I IMMEDIATELY PULLED OFF AT THE NEXT EXIT AND CHECKED UNDER THE HOOD AT FIRST I THOUGHT IT WAS A BLOWN HEAD GASKET BUT UPON HAVING IT TOWED TO THE NEAREST SHOP IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE SPARK PLUG EJECTED AND CAUSED THE CYLINDER HEAD TO MELT AND ALSO HAD MAJOR JUNKS OF METAL IN THE ENGINE ITSELF. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2001 FORD EXPEDITION. WHEN SHIFTING INTO THE REVERSE GEAR, THE REAR PARKING SENSOR WAS INOPERATIVE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR INSPECTION. THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE RELATED TO THE PARKING SENSOR. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED AT THIS TIME. THE FAILURE MILEAGE 78,000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 90,000.
ELECTRICAL: WINDSHIELD LEAKING FOR A FEW YEARS. FIRST A SMALL LEAK AND DID NOT THINK MUCH ABOUT IT. NOW IT SEEMS TO BE GREATER LEAKS INTO THE CAR WHEN IT RAINS- LEADING TO ELECTRICAL ISSUES SUCH AS DASH LIGHTS GO OUT, BLOWER STAYS ON, FUEL GAUGE DOES NOT READ RIGHT. RADIO SOMETIMES WILL NOT WORK RIGHT AND THE LIGHTS GO OUT. FUEL TANK: ISSUES FROM DAY ONE - FLOATS DID NOT WORK RIGHT, NOW GAUGE DOES NOT READ RIGHT, ONE POINT I COULD NOT FILL THE CAR - MECHANIC DID SOMETHING TO TRY AND CORRECT IT. HOOD/WINDSHIELD LEAK: MUST BE CAREFUL NOT TO GO TO AN AUTOMATIC CAR WASH. WATER INTO THE ENGINE AREA. MUST PARK AT A CERTAIN ANGLE DURING THE RAIN. COIL PACKS GO OUT.
ON THE MORNING OF 12/1/08 MY 2001 FORD EXPEDITION WOULD NOT START, BATTERY WAS DEAD. I JUMPED IT OFF AND DROVE IT TO THE DEALER. THE AC FAN AND RADIO REMAINED ON EVEN WITH THE KEY OUT OF THE IGNITION. I HAVE ALSO LEARNED THE ABS SYSTEM COULD BE AFFECTED. ALSO; DUE TO THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM SHORTING OUT THERE IS THE POTENTIAL FOR FIRE. IT HAS BEEN DETERMINED THAT THE WINDSHIELD LEAKED WATER ONTO THE FUSE BOX/GEM. FORD ISSUES A SPECIAL SERVICE MESSAGE #15773, IN APRIL OF 2002. I BOUGHT THIS EXPEDITION FROM B&B FORD AT BARNWELL, SC 29812, 803-259-5524 ON 2/21/2004. NO ONE MENTIONED THE SSM TO ME. NOW MY VEHICLE IS SITTING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DEALERSHIP WITH THE UNDER WHEEL DASH REMOVED. THEY ARE TELLING ME THE IT WILL BE OVER $600.00 FOR THE REPAIR. THIS INCLUDES RESEALING THE WINDSHIELD, REPLACING THE FUSE BOX AND GEM. I FEEL THAT I HAVE BEEN DRIVING IN A VEHICLE THAT IS POISED TO CAUSE MY FAMILY HARM OR DEATH. PURCHASING FROM A DEALER ONE WOULD HAVE TO AGREE THAT THESE ISSUES SHOULD BE RESOLVED BEFORE THE VEHICLE WAS SOLD TO ME. ONCE AGAIN, I WAS NEVER MADE AWARE OF ANY ISSUES NOW A POSSIBLE $600.00 PLUS BILL. THEY ORDERED THE PARTS TODAY. THIS IS DEFINITELY A FORD PROBLEM NOT AN ED PROBLEM. DURING WET WEATHER MY 2001 FORD EXPEDITION WILL HAVE VARIOUS ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS INCLUDING WINDSHIELD WIPERS NOT WORKING, RADIO TURNING ON/OFF, DOOR LOCKS NOT WORKING AND WINDOWS NOT WORKING. SOMETIMES CAR WILL NOT START AT ALL. *TR
WHILE TRAVELING ON THE FREEWAY AT ABOUT 70MPH WHEN I HEARD A LOUD "POPPING" NOISE FROM UNDER THE HOOD. DISCOVERED ONE THE SPARK PLUGS HAD BEEN "EJECTED" FROM THE CYLINDER HEAD. THE COIL THAT SITS ABOVE THE SPARK PLUG HAD BEEN BROKEN AS WELL. I WAS ABLE TO REPLACE THE SPARK PLUG AND TIGHTEN IT DOWN ENOUGH TO SEAL THE CYLINDER AND GET THE VEHICLE TO A SHOP. THE SHOP REPLACED ALL 8 SPARK PLUGS AND THE BROKEN COIL. THE VEHICLE IS A 2001 FORD EXPEDITION XLT WITH A 4.8 LITER TRITON V8 ENGINE. *TR
HAVE OWNED MY 2001 FORD EXPEDITION FOR ALMOST THREE YEARS. HAVE REPLACED THE BATTERY AND WHEN IN RAINS, I HAVE TO KEEP TOWELS IN THE VEHICLE BECAUSE OF LEAKING WINDOWS. IT DOES NOT ALWAYS LEAK IN THE SAME SPOT. MANY TIMES I HAVE ATTEMPTED TO START MY VEHICLE AND THE BATTERY IS DEAD. NOW WHEN I SHUT MY VEHICLE OFF, THE BLOWER FANS TURNS ON AND RUNS UNTIL THE BATTERY IS DEAD. I ALSO WILL BE DRIVING, AND ALL MY DASH LIGHTS WILL BLINK ON AND OFF. I AM CONCERNED ABOUT THE GEM MODULE AND THE POSSIBILITY THAT THIS ELECTRICAL ACTIVITY COULD CAUSE A FIRE, EVEN WHEN NOT RUNNING. I AM HEARING ESTIMATES FOR REPAIR OF UP TO $1,500.00. IN MY RESEARCH ON THIS, IT IS NOT AN ISOLATED EVENT, NOR AN INEXPENSIVE ONE TO FIX. *TR
I HAVE A 2001 FORD EXPEDITION THAT BLEW OUT THE #3 SPARK PLUG SIX MONTHS AGO. THE REPAIR COST AT THE FORD DEALERSHIP COST $450.00 WITH NO WARRANTY. THIS MORNING I WAS DRIVING TO WORK AND HEARS THE LOUD POP AND KNEW THAT A SPARK PLUG HAD AGAIN BEEN EJECTED. I WAS SEVEN MILES FROM HOME SO I THOUGHT I WOULD DRIVE IT HOME. I DROVE ABOUT 20 MPH ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND THE GAS FUMES WERE SO STRONG THAT I HAD TO OPEN MY WINDOW. ALL IT WOULD HAVE TAKEN IT A SMALL SPARK IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT FOR MY TRUCK TO HAVE BEEN ON FIRE. PLEASE INVESTIGATE THIS BEFORE SOMEONE IS SERIOUSLY INJURED. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2001 FORD EXPEDITION. WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, THE CONTACT HEARD A LOUD POP AND THE VEHICLE BEGAN RUNNING VERY ROUGHLY. SHE PULLED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND SMELLED GASOLINE FUMES COMING FROM THE VEHICLE. AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC CONFIRMED THAT THE NUMBER 3 SPARK PLUG HAD EJECTED FROM THE VEHICLE, AND ONLY 7 OF THE 8 SPARK PLUGS REMAINED. HE ALSO WARNED THAT THERE WAS A POTENTIAL RISK OF A FIRE IF SHE PROCEEDED TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE IN THAT CONDITION. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE LESS THAN 100,000.

MY DAUGHTER WAS AT HERMANN HOSPITAL IN HOUSTON FOR BRAIN AND SPINE SURGERY. I DROVE MY OLDER DAUGHTER THERE AT 9:00PM. AT 4:00AM I WAS AWAKEN BY SECURITY TO INFORM ME THAT MY VEHICLE WAS BURNING IN THE PARKING GARAGE. IT IS A 2001 FORD EXPEDITION EDDIE BAUER. THE ENTIRE FRONT END WAS CONSUMED BY THE FIRE. SMOKE, WATER, AND DEBRIS RUINED THE CONTENTS INSIDE THE VEHICLE. *TR

THE CROSS MEMBER OF THE FRONT OF THE FRAME SPLIT IN HALF. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE HEAD, CHEST, AND KNEE. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT HAS PICTURES. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 130,000.

SPARKPLUG STRIPPED ITSELF OUT OF ITS SEATING. THE MECHANIC HAS NOTED THIS THREE OTHER TIMES OVER THE YEARS WITHIN HIS BUSINESS ALONE. *TR
WATER LEAKED THROUGH WINDSHIELD. CAR STAYS ON WHEN KEY IS OUT AT TIMES WASTING ALL GAS. BLOWER AND DASH LIGHTS STAY ON AT TIMES DRAINING BATTERY. *TR
THE ENGINE EJECTED THE #3 SPARK PLUG, TEARING UP THE THREADS IN THE PROCESS. THE REPAIR INVOLVED INSTALLATION OF A HELICOIL, ALTHOUGH THE DEALER (PACKEY-WEBB OF DOWNERS GROVE IL) INSISTED THAT THE ONLY AVAILABLE REPAIR WOULD BE INSTALLING A NEW HEAD ASSEMBLY. THE HEAD ASSEMBLY, INCLUDING LABOR, WOULD HAVE BEEN OVER 4 TIMES THE COST OF THE HELICOIL. THIS MUST HAVE BEEN DUE TO EITHER WEAK THREADS, OR IMPROPERLY TORQUED SPARK PLUGS FROM THE FACTORY. *TR

A SPARK PLUG BLEW OUT OF THE PASSENGER SIDE HEAD (POSITION #3) ON MY SUV. THE TRUCK WAS TRAVELING AT ABOUT 45MPH AT THE TIME UNDER NORMAL (LIGHT) DRIVING CONDITIONS. MY MECHANIC IS WORKING UP AN ESTIMATE, BUT BELIEVES IT WILL COST SEVERAL THOUSAND DOLLARS TO REPAIR. I FOLLOWED UP BY RESEARCHING THIS ONLINE, AND WAS SURPRISED TO FIND MANY OTHER SIMILAR COMPLAINTS ON COMPARABLE FORD VEHICLES. AT WHAT POINT IS A RECALL TRIGGERED? I HAVE A 2001 FORD EXPEDITION WITH A 5.4L V8. THE TRUCK HAS ABOUT 80K MILES ON THE ODOMETER. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2001 FORD EXPEDITION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT FIVE SPARK PLUGS HAVE BLOWN OUT OF THE ENGINE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FAILURE WAS THE RESULT OF THE ALUMINUM TIPS FROM THE SPARK PLUGS ENTERING THE CAST IRON HEADS OF THE ENGINE. THE DEALER ALSO STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS COMMON AND THEY WERE THE ONLY LOCATION WITH THE TOOLS TO PERFORM REPAIRS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 130,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 165,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.

ONE OF MY SPARK PLUGS IN MY 2001 FORD EXPEDITION SUDDENLY SHOT OUT OF THE ENGINE BLOCK WHILE DRIVING SPRAYING FUEL ALL OVER THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. THE REPAIRMAN AT THE DEALER STATED "THIS IS JUST SOMETHING THAT HAPPEN TO ALUMINUM BLOCK ENGINES, AND IT COULD HAPPEN AGAIN TO THE ONE WE REPAIRED OR ANY OF THE OTHERS WE DIDN'T REPAIR." *TR
I BOUGHT MY 2001 EXPEDITION 9 MONTHS AGO, IT BROKE FOR THE FIRST TIME 3 DAYS AFTER BUYING IT. IT HAS SINCE BLOWN OUT A SPARK PLUG 6 DIFFERENT TIMES. I HAVE SENT IT TO 3 DIFFERENT GARAGES INCLUDING FORD DEALERSHIPS, EVERY TIME IT BREAKS DOWN ABOUT A MONTH LATER. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2001 FORD EXPEDITION. THE CONTACT RECEIVED A SAFETY RECALL NOTICE IN 2003 FOR THE VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL: CRUISE CONTROL. HE HAS RECEIVED FIVE NOTICES SINCE THAT TIME AND HAS BEEN TO FIVE DIFFERENT FORD DEALERS. THE DEALERS CONTINUE TO STATE THAT THE PARTS ARE UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT'S MOST RECENT ATTEMPT TO HAVE THE VEHICLE REPAIRED WAS ON APRIL 1, 2008. THERE HAD BEEN NO FAILURE TO DATE. THE PURCHASE DATE AND RECALL NUMBER WERE UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 166,175.
CAR WAS PARKED CAUGHT ON FIRE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT. HAD CITY OF SEATTLE FIRE DEPARTMENT AND FIRE MARSHAL INVESTIGATOR SHOWED UP ALSO HE DETERMINED FIRE WAS ELECTRICAL. HE GAVE ME A REPORT NUMBER I ALSO REPORTED INCIDENT TO MY INSURANCE COMPANY. MY CAR IS A 2001 FORD EXPEDITION. AFTER READING ON THE INTERNET ALL THE OTHER REPORTS I HAVE NO DOUBT IT WAS BECAUSE OF PROBLEMS WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL MENTIONED ON MANY, MANY OTHER SITES. I AM NOW STUCK IN A POSITION WHERE I HAVE TO BUY ANOTHER CAR, I HAVE LOST ALL THE MONEY I HAVE INVESTED INTO THIS VEHICLE. IF I WAS AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM WHEN I BROUGHT IT IN 05 I COULD HAVE HAD IT TURNED AROUND. THE THING THAT REALLY STICKS OUT IS THAT THE RECALL WAS IN 05 AND MAKES ME QUESTION WHY WASN'T THIS FIXED BEFORE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. *TR
CAR WOULD NOT START ON LOT WHEN I WENT TO LOOK AT IT TO PURCHASE. DEALER REPLACED BATTERY. AFEW MONTHS LATER AFTER CAR SAT FOR A PERIOD OF TIME(1-2 WEEKS) VEHICLE WOULD NOT START. DEALER REPLACED BATTERY SAFER RELAY. FEW WEEKS AFTER THAT SAME THING AGAIN. DEALER SAYS BATTERY MAY BE BAD. REPLACED!! MY LATEST EVENT VEHICLE SAT FOR ABOUT 2 DAYS. TEMP WENT DOWN TO -29 I WAITED UNTIL TEMP WENT UP TO ABOUT -5 AND WENT TO START AND BATTERY WAS COMPLETELY DEAD. TOOK VEHICLE TO AN AUTO ELECTRIC SHOP WHERE DRAW TEST SHOWED AN 80 MILLIAMP DRAIN WHERE NORMAL SHOULD BE ABOUT (FORD SAYS) 50 MILLIAMPS. A WIRE WAS CUT TO THE SUBWOOFER AND DRAIN WENT DOWN TO 17 MILLIAMPS. THIS IS A FACTORY INSTALLED ITEM. I HAVE READ HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS ON THE PARTICULAR VEHICLE(2001 FORD EXPEDITION) MINE HAPPENS TO BE AN EDDIE BAUER MODEL. A LOT OF THE PROBLEMS SEEM TO BE LEAKING WINDSHIELDS RUINING THE GEM MODULES AND FUSE BLOCKS. I DON'T KNOW YET IF MY PROBLEM IS SOLVED OR NOT ONLY TIME WILL TELL. I'M SURE A LOT OF THIS TYPE OF THING HAS COME ACROSS YOUR DESK. FORD SHOULD TAKE SOME OF THIS BURDEN OFF IT CUSTOMERS. THEY KNOW THIS PROBLEM WIDELY EXIST AND THEY DO NOTHING. FUTURE GM CUSTOMER. *TR
WATER LEAK IN THE FRONT WINDSHIELD (FOLLOWING A FEW CONSECUTIVE RAINY DAYS), CAUSING ELECTRICAL FAILURE OF THE DOME LIGHT, WIPERS, RADIO AND GEAR SELECTOR. FORD SERVICE ADVISED REPLACING THE FUSE BOX AND GEM MODULE FOR $1,100. THIS IS MY FAMILY VEHICLE AND I AM DEEPLY CONCERNED THAT THIS MAY CAUSE AN ELECTRICAL FIRE OR UNWNATED ELECTRICAL ACTIVITY WHEN THE CAR IS UNATTENDED. MY CAR IS JUST UNDER 80K MILES. I HAVE DONE SOME RESEARCH AND CAN SEE THAT THERE ARE MANY OTHERS THAT ARE EXPERIENCING SIMILAR PROBLEMS. THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN THAT SHOULD SHOULD BE ATTENDED TO IMMEDIATELY. I HOPE THIS CAN BE RESOLVED WITHOUT TAKING LEGAL ACTION. *TR
