WHILE DRIVING 10 MPH CONSUME HEARD A KNOCKING NOISE COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD. DEALERSHIP INFORMED THE CONSUMER OF THE BLOWN SPARK PLUG. THE PROBLEM WAS NOT RESOLVED. *AK
2002 FORD EXPEDITION EXPLODED IN GARAGE RESULTING IN A TOTAL LOSS OF THE VEHICLE AND HOME. *NM
CRUISE CONTROL AND HORN FAILED. THE DEALER STATED THE CRUISE CONTROL CABLE WIRE OVERHEATED AND FUSED TOGETHER IN THE HARNESS. *AK
EVERY TIME IT RAINS HARD MY VEHICLE WON'T START AND IF IT DOES THE WIPERS AND RADIO WILL NOT OPERATE WHEN I PUT IN REVERSE OR DRIVE. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY TOLD ME THAT IT WAS THE RIGHT SIDE WINDSHIELD SEAL. I ASKED THEM IF THIS WAS A MANUFACTURE DEFECT AND THEY SAID NO THAT IT WAS THE SHIFTING OF THE GLASS WHEN I RUN OVER BUMPS. THE SAME THING WAS HAPPENING TO A F-250 P/U WHEN I TOOK MY VEHICLE IN. THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY WOULD HAVE TO REPLACE THE FUSE BOX, GEAR MODULE, REAR WIPER MOTOR. I DON'T BELIEVE BUMPS WOULD CAUSE THIS TO HAPPEN AND FROM THE SOUND OF IT, IT APPEARS TO HAVE BEEN HAPPENING FOR A GOOD WHILE BECAUSE THEY TOLD ME AT THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT THAT THERE WAS MOLD IN THE GEAR MODULE. I AM AFRAID THAT IF IT RAINS AND I AM ON THE ROAD THAT MY TRUCK MIGHT JUST TURN OFF OR MY WIPERS MIGHT SHORT OUT. THE ESTIMATED COST FOR ALL REPAIRS IS ABOUT $1000.00. *AK
THE FUEL READS INCORRECTLY , AND WHEN DRIVING DOWN A HILL, THE VEHICLE HESITATES.*AK
MY 2002 FORD EXPEDITION WILL SHUT OFF AT INCLINES OF MORE THAN 15 DEGREES EVEN WITH MORE THAN 10 GALLONS OF FUEL IN THE TANK. THIS PROBLEM IS AN INHERENT PROBLEM WITH ALL 2001 AND 2002 EXPEDITIONS AS ADMITTED BY FORD MOTOR COMPANY AND THEY REFER TO THIS DEFECT AS A MERE "CHARACTERISTIC" OF THE VEHICLE. THE PROBLEM CAN OCCUR AT ANYTIME WHEN THE VEHICLE IS AT AN INCLINE WHEN THE FRONT IS LOWER THAT THE REAR. THIS MEANS THAT I CAN FEASIBLY RUN OUT OF FUEL WHILE DRIVING DOWN A HILL OR MOUNTAIN, LOSE POWER STEERING AND POWER BRAKES AND BE INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT WHERE SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH COULD OCCUR. THIS IS A VALID SAFTEY CONCERN AND I DO NOT FEEL COMFORTABLE DRIVING THE VEHICLE ESPECIALLY IN HILLY OR MOUNTAINOUS AREAS. AT THE VERY LEAST I COULD RUN OUT OF FUEL AND BE STRANDED IN AN AREA THAT IS UNSAFE. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE FUNCTIONALITY OF THE VEHICLE AND FORD MOTOR COMPANY SHOULD ADDRESS THESE CONCERNS AND OFFER SOLUTIONS TO THE PROBLEM INSTEAD OF WEAK EXCUSES TO WHY THEY FEEL THE GENERAL PUBLIC IS NOT AT RISK HERE. *AK
VEHICLE WOULD NOT START - SAFETY PROBLEM. VEHICLE DIAGNOSED AT ROD BAKER FORD DEALERSHIP AS HAVING A DEFECTIVE FUEL PUMP WHICH WAS REPLACED AT A COST OF $766.00. *AK *TC *JB
AFTER HITTING BLACK ICE, THE VEHICLE SLID TO THE LEFT ACROSS THE ROAD, HIT A TREE HEAD ON AND THE FRONT AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. *TC (THE CONSUMER NO LONGER OWNS THE VEHICLE)*JB
DURING OUR THANKSGIVING HOLIDAY, I WAS TRAVELING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS WITH MY FAMILY ON MY WAY FROM PHOENIX, AZ TO LAS CRUCES, NM WHEN THE RIGHT REAR GENERAL GRABBER AW P275/60R17 FACTORY INSTALLED TIRE OF MY 2002 FORD EXPEDITION EXPERIENCED TREAD SEPARATION. THERE WAS NO POLICE REPORT NOR WERE THERE ANY INJURIES. THE TIRE DID NOT DEFLATE, BUT IT DID AN ESTIMATED $2,241.47 IN DAMAGE TO MY EXPEDITION WHEN THE TREAD SEPARATED. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE TIRES WERE INFLATED AS RECOMMENDED AS INDICATED ON THE DOOR STICKER. I CHECK THE AIR IN MY TIRES PRIOR TO EACH TRIP AS THE SAFETY OF MY FAMILY MATTERS MOST. THIS RIGHT REAR TIRE WAS INFLATED TO EXACTLY 33 PSI THE DAY BEFORE THE TRIP. I HAVE SUBMITTED A CLAIM TO CONTINENTAL NORTH AMERICA WHO DENY ANY WORKMANSHIP AND/OR MATERIAL FAULT. THEY ONLY WANT TO OFFER $1,000 IN GOODWILL, WHICH WILL NOT COVER THE DAMAGES CAUSED BY THE TIRE TREAD SEPARATION.*AK
VEHICLE WAS PARKED AND IT CAUGHT ON FIRE. OWNER WAS NOTIFIED BY NEPHEW THAT THE VEHICLE WAS ON FIRE. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS NOTIFIED, AND EXTINGUISHED THE BLAZE. A REPORT WAS TAKEN, AND THE CAUSE WAS DETERMINE DTO BE THE ABS SENSOR AND OR THE CRUISE CONTROL WHERE THE FIRE ORIGINATED. *AK

MY 2002 EXPEDITION 4.6 HAS FOR THE PAST YEAR STALLED OUT ON AN INCLINE WITH 1/4 TANK OF GAS. IT WILL ALSO REVVED UP AND LURCH FORWARD WHEN RESTARTED, EVEN WHILE STANDING ON BRAKES. THE DEALERSHIP HAS REPLACED MANY THINGS AND HAS NO REASON WHY IT DOES THIS. I HAVE HAD ENOUGH. THIS IS A 2002 AUTOMOBILE AND THE 21ST CENTURY, THIS SHOUDL NOT BE HAPPENING TO A NEW CAR. A DEALERSHIP SHOULD NOT BE UNABLE TO CORRECT THIS PROBLEM. FORD NEEDS TO FIND THE PROBLEM AND ISSUE A RECALL, BEFORE A LAWSUIT ENSUES.
WHILE DRIVING THE STEERING WHEEL SHOOK AND A LOUD NOISE WAS HEARD COMING FROM THE FRONT. THE CONSUMER WAS ABLE TO MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE, AND PULLED OVER. THE DRIVER'S SIDE TIRE TREAD SEPARATED FROM WHEEL. THE CONSUMER WAS ABLE TO CHANGE THE TIRE, AND DROVE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. GENERAL, CONTINENTAL, P265/7OR17. *AK TWO DEFECTIVE TIRES WERE FOUND. THE TIRE/TREAD. GM STOPPED MAKING THESE TIRES DUE TO PROBLEMS. ANOTHER TIRE MAY BE SEPERATING. *SC
WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE TIRE TREAD SEPARATED WITHOUT WARNING. PLEASE PROVIDE ADDITIONAL INFORMATION.
WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE TIRE TREAD SEPARATED WITHOUT WARNING. AS A RESULT THE VEHICLES BUMPER WAS DAMAGED. THE CONSUMER STATEED THIS IS THE THIRD OCCURRENCE. PLEASE PROVIDE ADDITIONAL INFORMATION. *JB
WHILE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, A FIRE STARTED UNDER THE HOOD. VEHICLE WAS TOTALED. DEALERSHIP WAS NOTIFIED, BUT DID NOT RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. *AK
MAY 04, MY VEHICLE TRANSMISSION WAS SERVICED (FILTER CHANGED AND FLUID REPLACED) BY THE LOCAL FORD DEALER. IN JUNE 04, UNDER 1,000 MILES SINCE THE SERVICE, MY VEHICLE BEGAN TO VIBRATE IN THE REAR END WHEN IT WOULD SHIFT AROUND 45 M.P.H.AND WAS RETURNED TO THE FORD DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AS WATER IN THE TRASMISSION. THE FILTER WAS REPLACED AT MY EXPENSE AND THE PROBLEM HAS PROGRESSED OVER THE LAST TWO MONTHS. THE DEALERSHIP STATED THAT THEY COULD NOT REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION BECAUSE THERE WERE NO OTHER MECHANICAL PROBLEMS ASSOCIATED WITH THE PROBLEM. *AK
TREADS SEPARATED FROM THE TIRE, WHILE STILL INFLATED AND CAUSED DAMAGE TO REAR FENDER OF FORD EXPEDITION. PREVIOUSLY REPORTED PROBLEM UNDER CLAIM NUMBER 10024727. CONTACTED CONTINENTAL UNDER THE CLAIM AND WAS TOLD MY TIRES DID NOT FALL WITHIN THE RECALL DOT NUMBERS WHICH CONTRADICTED THE INFORMATION PROVIDED BY YOUR AGENCY. THE TIRE DEALERSHIP ALSO TOLD ME THE OTHER TIRES WERE BAD. TIRES ARE BEING SENT TO CONTINENTAL FOR INVESTIGATION.
THE STEERING WAS ERRATIC. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALERSHIP, WHO INDICATED THAT 3 OUT OF THE 4 TIRES WERE DEFECTIVE, AND THE BELTS WERE SEPARATING. ALSO, INDICATED THAT THE TIRES WEREN'T COVERED UNDER ANY KIND OF WARRANTY. THERE WAS TREAD SEPARATION RECALL 02T01200 ON THIS ISSUE BUT THE CONSUMER WASN'T NOTIFIED. *AK *SC
ON AT LEAST 3 OCCASIONS WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES MY 2002 EXPEDITION ACCELERATED. ONE OF THESE TIMES I WAS AT A COMPLETE STOP AND SAW MY RPMS JUMP UP TO 2000. *AK
WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH ANOTHER VEHICLE RAN A TRAFFIC LIGHT, CAUSING CONSUMER'S VEHICLE TO T-BONE THE OTHER VEHICLE. UPON IMPACT, BOTH FRONTAL AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. CONSUMER SUSTAINED MINOR INJURIES. *AK
BE DRIVING ANY SPEED IT WORKS AND BOTH SEAT BELTS LOCKING LATCH WILL RELEASE WHILE DRIVING. IT HAS GOT WORSE THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE WILL NOT LATCH ANY MORE. *TR
CONSUMER WAS INVOLVED IN A COLLISION. THE VEHICLE WAS HIT ON THE RIGHT FRONT SIDE, AND DRIVER'S SIDE AIR BAG FAILED TO DEPLOY. DRIVER WAS SERIOUSLY INJURED. *AK
FORD EXPEDITION FAILED SUSPENSION SYSTEM REPAIR REQUEST UNDER WARRANTY.*MR THE CONSUMER'S BELIEVED THE SUSPENSION SYSTEM IS FAULTY. THE CONSUMER CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER BUT THEY REFUSED ANY ASSISTANCE. *NM THE TRANSMISSION STARTED WITH AN OCCASIONAL CHUNK AND OR RATCHETING SOUND, ROUGH, DID NOT MOVE AND WOULD BANG WHEN MOVED, THE DRIVER WINDOW OCCASIONALLY ROLLED UP OUT OF THE TOP RACK AND THERE WAS AIR LEAKAGE, THE VEHICLE WAS EXTREMELY BOUNCY AND WAS SO SEVERE THAT THE CONSUMERS HEAD WOULD BOUNCE AGAINST THE ROOF TOP OF THE VEHICLE AND THE VEHICLE SWAYED SEVERELY WHEN THE VEHICLE MADE A TURN AROUND CURVES. *SC *JB
COMPLETE FIRE DISTRUCTIN OF VEH. FIRE APPEARS TO HAVE STARTED UNDER DASH IN WIRING HARNESS AND SPREAD TO ENGINE COMPARTMENT AS WELL AS INTERIOR OF UNIT. FORENSIC ANALYSIS INDICATES ABOVE. FORENSIC REPORT AVAILABLE ON REQUEST. FIRE STARTED WHILE UNIT PARKED IN GARAGE AND DAMAGED DWELLING AS WELL.*AK
THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE ON ITS OWN. AFTER NUMEROUS VISITS TO THE DEALERSHIP. THEY WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM.*AK
VEHICLE UNEXPECTEDLY CAUGHT ON FIRE WHILE IT WAS PARKED. MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED BY OWNER, AND WAS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM.*AK *TT
ROOF SEPARATED FROM THE SUPPORTS. *LA
VEHICLE ACCELERATES BY ITSELF WHILE BRAKING DURING STOPS. THE SPEED OF VEHICLE IS ABOUT 2-5 MPH AND THE ACCELERATION COMES ON WITHOUT WARNING. TACHOMETER JUMPS TO ABOUT 1500 RPM. THIS LASTS FOR 2-3 SECONDS WITH ENGINE SPEED RETURNING TO NORMAL. THIS IS AN INTERMITANT PROBLEM THAT I NOR THE DEALER CAN DUPLICATE. THEY ARE UNABLE TO FIND THE CAUSE. THE FIRST TIME THIS HAPPENED WAS BEHIND A MIATA THAT WAS STOPPED AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT AND I WAS APPROACHING FROM BEHIND WHEN IT ACCELERATED AND I ALMOST MOUNTED THE REAR OF THAT CAR. IT PULLED THROUGH THE BRAKES AND JUMPED FORWARD. THIS HAS HAPPENED 4 TIMES SINCE BOUGHT NEW IN AUG OF 2002. IT IS HAPPENING MORE AND MORE FREQUENTLY. I HAVE REQUESTED A REPLACEMENT TRUCK THRU FORD AS WELL AS THE FRANKLIN SQUARE, NY FORD DEALER WHERE I BOUGHT THE CAR. I HAVE NOT RECEIVED AND COMMUNICATION FROM THE COMPANY OR THE DEALER. THE DEALERSHIP REFUSED TO INDICATE IN THEIR PAPERWORK THAT THIS VEHICLE WAS IN SAFE MECHANICAL CONDITION. THIS IS A SEVERE SAFETY PROBLEM AND NEED YOUR ASSISTANCE FORTHWITH.*AK
A BURGLAR WAS ABLE TO INSERT A SCREW DRIVER BETWEEN THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR HANDLE MODULE AND THE OUTER WALL OF THE DOOR AND REMOVE THE HANDLE MODULE AND OPEN THE DOOR AND STEAL VARIOUS ITEMS IN THE VEHICLE WITHOUT SETTING OFF THE ALARM.*AK
BRAKE PEDAL FELT ROUGH UPON STEPPING ON PEDAL (I HAVE A LITTLE MORE THAN 30K MILES ON THE VEHICLE) I DO WORK ON MY OWN VEHICLES AND I AM VERY KNOWLEGABLE WHEN IT COME TO BASIC REPAIRS I INSPECTED BOTH ROTERS ON THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE AND FOUND THE DRIVER SIDE INNER PAD COMPLETELY WORN TO THE METAL THE OUTER PAD STILL HAS APPROXIMATELY 1/4 INCH BEFORE IT HITS THE INDICATOR OBVIOUSLY MY CALIPER IS STICKING I HAVE AN APPOINTMENT TOMORROW IM CURIOUS WHAT TEY WILL SAY. *AK
WE PURCHASED OUR 2002 5.4L EXPEDITION ON OCTOBER 13,2001. ON APPROXIMATELY 5 OCCASIONS, WE HAVE BEEN AT A STOP WITH THE BRAKE PEDAL DEPRESSED. THE ENGINE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO LURCH FORWARD REQUIRING YOU TO APPLY ADDITIONAL PRESSURE TO THE BRAKE PEDAL TO AVOID COLLISION OR FURTHER UNWANTED MOVEMENT OF THE VEHICLE. IT IS VERY STRESSFUL TO DRIVE, THINKING THAT IT WILL HAPPEN AGAIN. WE HAVE BROUGHT THIS PROBLEM TO THE ATTENTION OF OUR DEALER SEVERAL TIMES. THEY CANNOT DETECT THE PROBLEM AND INDICATED THAT THERE WERE NO SIMILAR COMPLAINTS ON FILE. THE LAST INCIDENT OCCURRED ON ON DEC. 4, 2003. AFTER CONTACTING THE CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT FORD MOTOR COMPANY, WE REQUESTED THAT THE DEALER INSTALL A FLIGHT RECORDER. I WE FEAR FOR THE SAFETY OF OURSELVES, OF OUR CHILDREN, AND OF OTHERS. TO FURTHER AGGRAVATE THE SITUATION, SERVICE STAFF FROM OUR FORD DEALER HAVE SUGGESTED THAT IT IS DRIVER ERROR (SUGGESTING THAT WE ARE APPLYING PRESSURE TO THE BRAKE AND GAS PEDAL SIMULTANEOUSLY. WE ARE CERTAIN THIS IS NOT THE CASE). PLEASE LET US KNOW OF YOUR FINDINGS AND ANY ADDITIONAL STEPS TO TAKE. THANK YOU. *AK
SUV WILL SUDDENLY IDLES AT A VERY LOW SPEED - MOSTLY WHEN COMING TO A STOP OR YIELD. THE BRAKES ARE APPLIED WITH MUCH FORCE IN EFFORT TO KEEP VEHICLE FROM LURCHING FORWARD INTO THE REAR END OF ANOTHER VEHICLE. VEHICLE'S ENGINE WILL THEN 'DIE' AND I WILL HAVE TO PUT IT IN NEUTRAL OR PARK TO RESTART. DOES NOT MATTER WHAT THE TEMPERATURE IS. THE VEHICLE DOES THE SPIRADICALLY ABOUT ONCE A WEEK. I'M AFRAID THIS WILL CAUSE AN ACCIDENT IN WHICH MY 5 YEAR OLD IS PRECIOUS CARGO - DAILY.*AK
I REAR ENDED A TRUCK AT ABOUT 35-40 MPH AND NEITHER AIR BAG DEPLOYED. MY VEHICLE IS AT PLANET FORD HERE IN TEXAS AND THEY TOLD ME LAST WEEK THEY WAS GOING TO INVESTIGATE WHY THEY DID NOT DEPLOY. TODAY THEY TOLD ME THAT IT HAS TO BE A DIRECT HIT AND WITH $9,000.00 AND THE WHOLE FRONT FOLDING ON IMPACT I CONSIDER THAT A DIRECT HIT. THEY TOTALED THE VEHICLE I HIT. *LA
CONTINENTAL TIRE/ GRABBER AW DOT ADT044T4001. WHILE DRIVING ON I10 WITH MY WIFE AND FOUR SMALL SONS, TREAD PEELED AWAY FROM R/R TIRE AND CAUSED $5,900 IN DAMAGE TO R/R FENDER AREA. *LA
2002 FORD EXPEDITION PURCHASED FROM CROSSROADS FORD SEPTEMBER 2001. FIRST IN FOR HESITATION WHEN PRESSING GAS AND IDLING IN REVERSE. REPLACE CYLINDER #6 AND TWO SPARK PLUGS. SECOND TIME IN FOR SAME REASON. REPLACED CYLINDER #6 AGAIN. THIRD TIME IN FOR SAME REASON. REPLACED NOTHING--THEY SAID THEY COULD FIND NOTHING WRONG. FOURTH TIME IN SAME REASON. KEPT CAR FOR NINE DAYS, DUMBFOUNDED-AS THEY COULD FIND NOTHING WRONG -REPLACED CYLINDER #6 AND THE FUEL INJECTOR AFTER SPEAKING WITH FORD ON A CONFERENCE CALL--- TENTH DAY PICKED UP CAR--- ELEVENTH DAY CAR IS NOT FIXED--STILL HAS THE SAME PROBLEM.*AK
WHILE AT A COMPLETE STOP WITH FOOT ON BRAKE, ENGINE "REVS" AND LURCHES FORWARD. THIS HAS HAPPENED 5 TIMES OVER THE PAST 2 YEARS. NO ACCIDENTS HAVE OCCURRED. TOOK VEHICLE TO SHOP AFTER THE 4TH TIME BUT THEY FOUND NOTHING. *LA
GAS GAUGE REGISTERED A HALF OF TANK GAS. SUDDENLY WHILE TRAVELING DOWN A HILL VEHICLE LOST ALL POWER. *AK THE VEHICLE CONSUMED 1/4 TANK OF GAS TO TRAVEL 8 MILES. WHEN THE CONSUMER GOT INTO THE VEHICLE AGAIN, IT READ FULL. AFTER THE VEHICLE LOST POWER WHILE GOING DOWN HILL, IT STARTED UP AGAIN AFTER A COUPLE OF MINUTES. CONSUMER CAME TO THE CONCLUSION THAT SHE IS UNABLE TO DRIVE OR PARK ON A INCLINE (NOSE-DOWN) WITH LESS THAN A 1/2 TANK OF GAS. *PH *JB
FORD 2002 EXPIDITION. 52,000 MILES SUN ROOF DRIP TRAY HAS FALLEN LOOSE. RAILINGS AND DRIP TRAYS NEED REPLACING. FORD HAS ISSUED A BULLETIN ON THIS ISSUE AND KNOWS IT IS A PROBLEM, YET REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE A RECALL ON THIS ISSUE. IF SAFETY IS A CONCERN, THEN RAIN INSIDE MY VEHICLE WHILE DRIVING SHOULD BE A GOOD ENOUGH TO SATISFY THAT CONCERN. *AK
I AM SICK AND TIRED OF CLOSING MY EYES WHILE DRIVING AT HIGH SPEED BECAUSE YOUR DEPARTMENT NOW ALLOWS PASSENGER VEHICLES TO BLAST ONCOMING TRAFFIC WITH 4 (FOUR) HEADLIGHTS. I CITE IN PARTICULAR THE FORD EXPEDITION WHERE THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE UPPER 2 HEADLIGHTS AND THE LOWER 2 SO-CALLED FOG LIGHTS. SOMETIMES, I WILL BLAST MY OWN BRIGHT LIGHTS AT THESE ONCOMING VEHICLES TO LET THEM SEE WHAT THEIR OWN LIGHTS LOOK LIKE. IN RESPONSE, THE ONCOMING CAR OR TRUCK (MERCIFULLY) WILL HIT THEIR OWN BRIGHT LIGHTS WHICH ARE LESS BRIGHT THAN THE COMBINATION OF THEIR LOW BEAMS AND FOG LIGHTS. I REALLY DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW IDIOCY HAS CREPT INTO ALMOST EVERY DEPARTMENT IN FEDERAL, STATE AND LOCAL GOVERNMENT. HOW CAN YOU POSSIBLY THINK THAT IT'S OK TO HAVE *****DOUBLE***** THE AMOUNT OF LIGHT COMING FROM A VEHICLE THAN IN THE PAST. TECHNOLOGY IS GREAT BUT THE HUMAN EYE HAS NOT CHANGED. YOU SHOULD REVIEW THE STUDIES FROM THE MIDDLE OF THE LAST CENTURY TO SEE HOW THEY CAME TO THE AMOUNT OF LIGHT ALLOWABLE UNDER LAW BACK THEN. I'LL BET THEY ACTUALLY USED LOGIC IN THEIR DECISION. WHEN, OH WHEN WILL YOU MORONS EVER MAKE A CORRECT DECISION? MAKE THE USE OF FOG LIGHTS ILLEGAL UNLESS THERE IS ACTUALLY FOG OR OTHER INCLEMENT WEATHER. OTHERWISE, YOU ARE JUST ENDANGERING THE DRIVERS OF VEHICLES WHO ARE FORCED BY YOU IDIOTS TO STARE AT THIS UNREASONABLE AMOUNT OF LIGHT PROCEEDING FROM THESE NEWER VEHICLES. I AM SICK AND TIRED OF BEING BLINDED BY BOTH SUV AND LUXURY VEHICLE HEADLIGHTS. LAST WEEK, I LITERALLY HAD TO PULL OVER ON THE SIDE OF A ROAD TO WAIT FOR MY EYES TO CLEAR AFTER BEING BLINDED BY AN SUV THAT ALSO HAD HALOGEN LIGHTS. MY WIFE HAD A TIRE BLOWOUT ON OUR 2002 FORD EXPEDITION . TIRES MOUNTED ON THE VEHICLE WERE THE GENERAL AW GRABBERS 17INCH. WE WERE INFORMED LAST YEAR A COUPLE OF MONTHS AFTER VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED THAT THESE TIRES HAD BEEN RECALLED. WE CONTACTED DEALERSHIP AND TOOK OUR VECHICLE IN TO ANOTHER LOCAL DEALERSHIP, AND THEY SAID NO THEY HAD NOT BEEN RECALLED EVEN AFTER WE INSISTED THEY AT LEAST LOOK AT THE TIRES. MY WIFE AND INFANT CHILD WERE IN THE VECHICLE WHICH CAUSED EXTENSIVE DAMAGE TO THE CAR BUT THANKFULLY ONLY MINOR BUMPS AND BRUISES TO MY FAMILY. WE ARE IN THE PROCESS OF GETTING LEGAL ADVICE AND HAVE TAKEN NUMEROUS PICTURES OF THE TIRE AND HAD OUR OWN TECH EXAMINE THE TIRE.*AK
2002 EXPEDITION 5.4L - WHEN BRAKING, VEHICLE ACCELERATES. BRAKES WERE APPLIED AS HARD AS POSSIBLE YET THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED AGAINST THE BRAKES. THIS HAS HAPPENED 3 TIME BEFORE. SPEED OF VEHICLE RANGED FROM 5 OR 10 MPH TO 50 MPH AT TIME OF PROBLEM. VEHICLE HAS BEEN TAKEN TO LOCAL DEALER BUT NO PROBLEM WAS FOUND. THIS LAST TIME WE ALMOST REAR ENDED ANOTHER VEHICLE. APPEARS TO OCCUR ONLY WHEN SLOWING DOWN FOR A STOP. WILL TAKE VEHICLE TO DEALER YET AGAIN.*AK

WHILE AT A BUSY INTERSECTION, THE VEHICLE ENGINE REVVED AND LURCHED FORWARD REQUIRING EXTRA BRAKE PRESSURE TO AVOID COLLISION. THE RPMS WERE OVER 1500 AT A STOP. THIS IS THE SECOND INCIDENT AND THE DEALER HAS BEEN CONTACTED.*AK
DT: THE CALLER COMPLAINED ABOUT UNWANTED VEHICLE ACCELERATION. THIS HAPPENED REGARDLESS OF WEATHER CONDITIONS AND INTERMITTENTLY. DEALER CAN'T FIND THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM BECAUSE THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE IT. MANUFACTURER SAID THEY WOULD NOTE THE PROBLEM AND CONTACT DEALER IF THEY FOUND AN ANSWER. CALLER STATED IT HAPPENED MOSTLY WHEN VEHICLE WAS SITTING STILL, LIKE AT A LIGHT OR STOP SIGN. CALLER SAID THE PROBLEM SHE READ ABOUT WAS THE THROTTLE STICKING. *AK THE CONSUMER STATES THAT THIS COULD'VE CAUSED AND ACCIDENT, SHE WAS IN HER DRIVEWAY AND THE CAR LUNGED FORWARD WHILE HER FOOT WAS ON THE BRAKE PEDAL. WHILE AT A STOP VEHICLE REVS UP AND LURCHES FORWARD EVEN THOUGH YOU HAVE YOUR FOOT ON THE BRAKE. ALSO WHILE DRIVING THE TACHOMETER REVS UP FOR ABOUT A MINUTE THEN GOES BACK TO NORMAL. *JB
VEHICLE WAS BOUGHT USED @ 27000 AND BROUGHT BACK THE DAY FOLLOWING PURCHASE WITH THE TRANSMISSION TROUBLES. THIS VEHICLE IS AND WAS UNDER MANUFACTURERS WARRANTY. FORD SHOULD HAVE SOME LIABILITY REGARDLESS IF THIS WAS PURCHASED USED OR NOT SINCE IT IS SO LOW MILEAGE AND THE YEAR MAKE OF IT AND IT IS UNDER THE MANUFACTURERS WARRANTY. TRANSMISSION SLIPPING AND NOT STAYING IN GEAR. RETURNED TO DEALER AND THEY REPLACED A SENSOR SAYING THERE WAS 'NO RESPONSE' FROM THE SENSOR AND IT WAS RULED AS 'BAD'. AGAIN IN JULY THE VEHICLE WAS RETURNED BECAUSE IT WAS STILL SLIPPING, SMELLED OF BURNING RUBBER...TRANSMISSION WAS THEN REBUILT BY THE DEALER AS IT HAD A LOT OF ISSUES ONCE THEY OPENED UP THE TRANS. NOW HERE LESS THAN 4 WEEKS AFTER THAT LAST REPAIR WHICH WAS THE SECOND IN LESS THAN TWO MONTHS. TRANSMISSION IS SLIPPING AND NOT CHANGING GEARS PROPERLY. TOOK THIS VEHICLE ON A LONGER DURATION TRIP THAN USUAL ALONG WITH HIGH FREEWAY SPEEDS. ONCE THE VEHICLE GETS NEAR 70 MPH THE TRANS STICKS AND THE VEHICLE LOSES ACCELERATION. THE TRANS TROUBLE I AM HAVING WITH THIS EXPEDITION IS RIDICULOUS.
ON THE 2002 FORD EXPEDITION I HAVE FOUND THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE PICK UP IN THE GAS TANK IF THE VEHICLE IT IS MOUNTED IN THE CENTER OF THE TANK AND IF THE VEHICLE IS BELOW OR AT A 1/4 OF A TANK AND PARKED ON A GRADE AT ALL THE FUEL WILL NOT PICK UP AND RUN OUT OF FUEL CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO STALL THIS VERY DANGEROUS ESPECIALLY IF YOU WORK DOWN TOWN AND PARK ON A GRADE THEN YOU HAVE 2 CHOICES COAST TO A LEVEL AREA WITH NO BRAKES OR CALL FOR HELP. LUCKILY MY WIFE'S EXPEDITION HAS ONLY DONE IT HERE AT THE HOUSE WHERE SHE PARKS ON A HILL BUT MOST OF THE TIME I TRY TO KEEP IT ABOVE A 1/2 OF A TANK TO COMBAT THE PROBLEM. I WOULD VERY MUCH APPRECIATE IT IF YOU WOULD CHECK INTO THIS PROBLEM AND LET ME KNOW WHAT HAPPENS. *NLM
