I BOUGHT MY 2005 FORD EXPEDITION IN MARCH 2007 WITH 21K MILES ON IT. I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE 2 DIFFERENT INJECTORS IN 16 MONTHS BECAUSE THE VEHICLE WILL START CUTTING BACK AND ACTING LIKE IT WANTS TO CUT OFF WHEN IT STOPS AT A LIGHT . THE MOST RECENT REPLACEMENT CAME WHEN I DROVE IT 5 MILES FROM HOME AND IT JERKED CONTINUOUSLY THE ENTIRE INSIDE OF THE VEHICLE SMELLED LIKE GAS VERY STRONGLY AS WELL AS THE EXHAUST. THE TRUCK STAYS PARKED MOST OF THE TIME BECAUSE IM TOO SCARED TO DRIVE IT AND ITS A GAS HOG!!!!!! THE REPLACEMENT OF THE INJECTORS ARE NOT CHEAP!!!! THE INSIDE LIGHTS WILL COME ON AND GO OFF AT ANYTIME FOR NO REASON. I TAP THE BRAKES AND THEY COME ON, I ROLL THE WINDOW UP OR DOWN AND THEY COME ON. I HAVE ALSO HAD TO REPLACE THE BATTERY DUE TO THIS HAPPENING EVEN WHEN THE TRUCK HAS BEEN PARKED FOR HOURS. I HAVE REPLACED THE OXYGEN SENSOR AND A COLI PACK. ITS NEVER ENDING AND I FEEL LIKE I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO CONTINUE TO REPLACE THESE THINGS WHEN I AM OBVIOUSLY NOT THE ONLY ONE WITH THIS PROBLEM. FORD NEEDS TO STEP UP AND TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR CRAPPY PRODUCTS. I HAVE 5 MORE YEARS @ $515 PER MONTH TO PAY FOR THIS PIECE OF CRAP!!!!!!!!!!!! *TR
THE PAINT IS BUBBLING AND PEELING ON THE HOOD AND REAR LIFT GATE. THIS PROBLEM STARTED AND KEEPS GETTING WORSE. THE PAINT HAS ALREADY CAME OFF IN A 1 INCH SECTION. I COULD SEND I A PIECE OF THE PAINT TO A LAB IF NEEDED. CAR WAS NEVER IN ACCIDENT OF RE-PAINTED. *TR
2005 FORD EXPEDITION - ELECTRONIC THROTTLE PROBLEM. THIS HAS BEEN AN ON-GOING PROBLEM SINCE 2008, A VERY DANGEROUS PROBLEM. WILL THE NOTIFICATION WARNS YOU THE CAR DIES IN MID-TRAFFIC CAUSING YOU TO COAST AND THEN THE ENGINE DIES. I HAVE HAD THIS FIXED IN 2008 AND IN 2009 AND 2010 IS HAVING THE SAME ISSUE - SOMEONE WILL END UP WITH A DEATH DUE TO THIS PROBLEM. PLEASE INVESTIGATE. *TR
ELECTRIC THROTTLE CONTROL WENT OUT WHILE DRIVING AST 60 MPH ALSO IGNITION FUSE WENT OUT SO CAR WAS DEAD LEAVING ME STRANDED IN THE MIDDLE OF NO WHERE WITH 4 GIRLS IN THE CAR. THE ENGINE LITERALLY STOPPED WHILE I WAS DRIVING AT 60 MPH. COULD HAVE BEEN VERY DANGEROUS IF ON A CROWDED INTERSTATE. *TR
MY WIFE WAS DRIVING OUR 2005 FORD EXPEDITION WITH 50,000 MILES. SHE STATED THAT THE RADIO QUIT WORKING AND THEN THE VEHICLE QUIT RUNNING. AT THAT POINT THE HORN BEGAN TO BLOW CONTINUOUSLY UNTIL SMOKE STARTED TO COME OUT OF THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE DASH. AT THIS TIME SHE EXITED THE VEHICLE WITH OUR BOYS AND CALLED THE FIRE DEPT. BY THE TIME THEY ARRIVED THE VEHICLE WAS FULLY INVOLVED WITH FIRE. NEEDLESS TO SAY THE EXPEDITION IS TOTALED FROM THE FIRE. THE ENTIRE INTERIOR IS BURNT UP AND MELTED. I HAVE FOUND SIMILAR COMPLAINTS ON SEVERAL FORUMS. *TR
I HAVE A 2005 FORD EXPEDITION THAT HAS PAINT BUBBLING IN DIFFERENT AREAS. I DID SOME RESEARCH ON-LINE AND FOUND THAT FORD ISSUED A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN 04-25-1 IN 2004 AND ANOTHER BULLETIN 06-25-1 IN 2006 THAT EXPLAINS THAT PRIOR TO PAINTING, IRON PARTICLES CONTAMINATED THE ALUMINUM PANEL WHICH CAUSES THE PAINT BUBBLES DOWN THE ROAD. IN MY RESEARCH ON-LINE, I FOUND THAT FORD IS NOT TAKING CARE OF THEIR CUSTOMERS, BUT SOME DEALERS ARE COVERING SOME OF THE REPAIRS UNDER A "GOODWILL POLICY". I CONTACTED A LAWYER THAT SPECIALIZES IN LEMON-LAW, AND HE SUGGESTED I FILE THIS COMPLAINT. HE SAYS IF ENOUGH PEOPLE COMPLAIN, IT MAY FORCE FORD TO TAKE ACTION AND TAKE CARE OF THEIR CUSTOMERS. I DID CONTACT MY DEALERSHIP, AND THEY SAY THEY NEVER HEARD OF THIS PROBLEM. I AM PAST MY 3 YEAR WARRANTY, SO THEY SAY IT IS NOT COVERED. *TR
2005 FORD EXPEDITION 4 WHEEL DRIVE, VEHICLE FACTORY RIMS SPLITTING APART, OUTWARD SIDE OF RIM. RIMS ARE COMING APART ALMOST FULL CIRCUMFERENCE OF RIM INSIDE OF RIM. CANNOT BE SEEN FROM OUTSIDE. HAS HAPPENED TO SEVERAL VEHICLES. ALSO HAVE LOCAL REPORTS FROM LOCAL GOVERNMENT AGENCIES OF SAME PROBLEM. FEEL IT IS AND EXTREME SAFETY ISSUE. HAVE REPLACED RIMS WITH FACTORY RIMS. HAVE KEPT OLD RIMS TO VIEW. *TR
FORD EXPEDITION PAINT. I PURCHASED A NEW 2005 FORD EXPEDITION EDDIE BAUER EDITION IN 5/2005 FROM A CAR DEALER. THE 36000/3 YEAR WARRANTY HAS EXPIRED AND THE PAINT IS BLISTERING ON THE TAILGATE. I CALLED DEALER AND THEY SAID IT IS A MANUFACTURING DEFECT AND THEY WILL NOT PAY FOR IT BUT IT WILL DO NO GOOD TO FIX IT UNLESS THE ENTIRE TAILGATE IS REPLACED WITH STEEL. THERE IS A SERVICE BULLETIN OUT ON THIS ISSUE AND THEY ARE NOT STANDING BEHIND IT. *TR
I HAVE A 2005 EXPEDITION EDDIE BAUER AND THE LIFT GATE WILL OPEN ON OCCASION. THE DEALER CANNOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG TO CAUSE THIS BUT IS AWARE OF OTHER COMPLAINTS. I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE BRAND NEW AND STARTED TO ENCOUNTER THIS PROBLEM AT 37,000 MILES WHEN THE WARRANTY RAN OUT. I AM AFRAID THIS WILL HAPPEN WHILE I AM TRANSPORTING MY DOGS TO A DOG SHOW AND THEIR CRATES WILL BE THROWN OUT OF THE REAR ONTO THE HIGHWAY. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD EXPEDITION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE STALLS AND CONSTANTLY SHUTS OFF AT VARIOUS SPEEDS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER ON EIGHT OCCASIONS FOR THE FAILURES. IN JANUARY OF 2008, THE DIAGNOSTIC INDICATED THAT THE THROTTLE BODY WAS THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE AND IT WAS REPLACED. THE MOST RECENT FAILURE OCCURRED ON JUNE 1, 2008 WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION FAILED. THE DEALER REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION. THE CONTACT SPENT $2,400 TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE THAT WAS PURCHASED NEW IN 2005. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 16,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 39,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD EXPEDITION. WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE CONTACT HEARD A BEEPING NOISE AND THEN NOTICED THAT THE CHECK ELECTRONIC THROTTLE WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED AS THE VEHICLE LOST POWER. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON FOUR SEPARATE OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A PRIVATE MECHANIC WHO ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULE HAD FAILED. HE REMOVED THE BATTERY TERMINAL, RESET THE COMPUTER, CLEARED ALL CODES, REPLACED THE THROTTLE POSITION CENSOR, AND CLEANED THE THROTTLE BODY. THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE PREVIOUS FAILURES AND DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 110,000 AND THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. UPDATED 04/25/11 *BF THE CONSUMER STATED THE PROBLEM HAPPENED FOR A SECOND TIME. UPDATED 06/20/11
OUR 2005 FORD EXPEDITION EDDIE BAUER WAS DRIVING EXTREMELY ROUGH, WAS DIFFICULT TO START, AND THERE WAS ALSO A STRONG SMELL OF FUEL IN THE CABIN. WE WERE ABLE TO MAKE IT TO THE NEAREST LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP. THEY INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND INFORMED US THAT TWO OF OUR FUEL INJECTORS HAD GONE BAD, WHICH HAD ALSO DAMAGED TWO SPARK PLUGS. APPARENTLY THEY FROZE OPEN AND ALLOWED TOO MUCH FUEL INTO THE SYSTEM. SINCE FORD IS AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM THEY HAVE EXTENDED THE WARRANTY TO VEHICLE OWNERS FOR THE DEFECTIVE FUEL INJECTORS TO 120,000 MILES. LATE LAST YEAR THEY SENT OUT A LETTER TO IMPACTED VEHICLE OWNERS. HOWEVER, THEY ONLY REPLACE THE FUEL INJECTORS AS THEY GO BAD. WE NOW HAVE TWO NEW AND IMPROVED FUEL INJECTORS IN OUR VEHICLE AND SIX OF THE FAULTY ONES. WE ARE CONCERNED WITH THE SAFETY OF US CONTINUING TO DRIVE THIS VEHICLE. THE ENGINE COULD STOP AT ANY MOMENT LEAVING US IN A DANGEROUS SITUATION IN TRAFFIC OR IN A REMOTE AREA, AND WITH THE FLOODING OF FUEL INTO THE SYSTEM THERE IS AN INCREASED RISK OF FIRE. THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL ON THESE FAULTY FUEL INJECTORS FOR THE SAFETY OF THE VEHICLE OWNERS. I'M DISAPPOINTED THAT FORD HAS CHOSEN TO NOT STAND BY THEIR PRODUCT AND LEAVE THEIR CUSTOMER IN A POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. OTHERWISE, WE HAVE BEEN PLEASED WITH THIS VEHICLE. I RECOMMEND THAT THE NHTSA INVESTIGATE THIS ISSUE. THERE ARE BLOGS ONLINE WHERE OTHERS HAVE EXPERIENCED SIMILAR UNSAFE SITUATIONS RELATING TO THESE FAULTY FUEL INJECTORS. MANY HAVE HAD TO GO BACK TO FORD MULTIPLE TIMES ALREADY, AS AN INJECTOR GOES BAD. THIS SITUATION COULD BE REMEDIED IF FORD WOULD RECALL AND REPLACE ALL OF THESE INJECTORS WHETHER THEY HAVE FAILED YET OR NOT. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD EXPEDITION. WHILE DRIVING ON A WET ROAD AT 45 MPH, THE BACK OF THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO SLIDE. THE CONTACT WAS HIT BY ANOTHER VEHICLE AND SPUN OUT OF CONTROL ACROSS FOUR LANES OF TRAFFIC. THE BACK END OF THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO A CEMENT BARRACADE. A VEHICLE THAT WAS ENTERING THE HIGHWAY CRASHED INTO THE DRIVERS SIDE. THE AIR BAGS NEVER DEPLOYED. THE AMBULANCE AND POLICE ARRIVED AND TRANSPORTED THE CONTACT TO THE HOSPITAL. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED, THE CONTACT HAS BEEN UNSUCCESSFUL AT SPEAKING WITH THEM. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000.
I WAS DRIVING MY 2005 FORD EXPEDITION, 85,000 MILE DRIVEN, WAS TRAVELING ON LEVEL GROUND IN TRAFFIC AT 45 MPH WHEN THE ENGINE SPEED WENT TO IDLE AND I COULD NOT ACCELERATE. THE ENGINE WAS STILL RUNNING AND BOTH POWER BRAKES AND POWER STEERING STILL FUNCTIONED. THE MESSAGE ON THE INFORMATION PANEL STATED SOMETHING TO THE EFFECT OF "ELECTRONIC THROTTLE DYSFUNCTION." FORTUNATELY, I WAS NOT IN HEAVY TRAFFIC AND IN THE RIGHT HAND LANE AND WAS ABLE TO COAST TO A STOP ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE IGNITION WAS TURNED OFF AND ALLOWED TO SET FOR A FEW MOMENTS. UPON RESTARTING EVERYTHING FUNCTIONED PROPERLY AND HAS CONTINUED TO DO SO SINCE. THIS COULD HAVE EASILY BEEN A FATAL PROBLEM IF THE TIMING HAD BEEN POOR. MY FORD DEALER SERVICE MANAGER STATED THIS IS THE 3RD. ONE LIKE THIS IN THE LAST TWO WEEKS. MY VEHICLE IS PRESENTLY BEING REPAIRED BY REPLACING PART OF ITS COMPUTER. UNFORTUNATELY, FORD DOES NOT SEE FIT TO ASSUME RESPONSIBILITY. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD EXPEDITION. THE CONTACT CANNOT INSERTED THE NOZZLE INTO THE FUEL TANK TO PLACE GAS IN THE VEHICLE ,BUT THE GAS BLEW BACK OUT AT HIM AND HE STATED THAT IT TOOK 25 MINUTES TO FILL UP THE VEHICLE. FORD STATED THAT THE REPAIR WOULD COST AT LEAST $500. THE DEALER WOULD HAVE TO REMOVE AND REINSTALL THE FUEL TANK. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT NOTHING COULD BE DONE AND ADVISED THE CONTACT TO CALL NHTSA AND FILE A COMPLAINT. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 60,000. UPDATED 04/02/08. *LJ THE CONSUMER WAS INFORMED THAT ENGINEERS HAD INSTALLED A HOSE ON THE FUEL SYSTEM THAT RELOCATED FUMES AWAY FROM THE FILL TUBE. THEIR EXPLANATION WAS THAT THE HOSE MAY HAVE BEEN FROZEN AND NOT ALLOWING THE TANK TO VENT. UPDATED
RECURRING ENGINE NOISE WHICH IS MORE NOTICEABLE DURING COLD WEATHER. UNDER LOAD THE ENGINE , PARTICULARLY AT 2000 RPM, SOUNDS LIKE THERE IS A MANIFOLD LEAK OR A VALVE TICKING. I HAVE BEEN TO MY DEALER TWICE(OUT OF BUSINESS) AND TWO OTHER DEALERS THREE TIMES WITH NO SATISFACTORY RESULTS. *TR
THE DASH MESSAGE CENTER LIGHTS HAVE PROGRESSIVELY BEEN GETTING DIMMER TO THE POINT THE MILEAGE INFORMATION, DIRECTION OF TRAVEL AND TEMP ARE UNREADABLE IN DAYLIGHT HOURS. HOWEVER, AT NIGHT, WHEN THE AUTO LIGHTS TURN ON, THE MESSAGE CENTER IS QUITE CLEAR. *TR
2005 EXPEDITION HAS SEVERE ENGINE TICKING PROBLEM (SOUNDS LIKE A DIESEL) ORIGINAL COMPLAINT WAS BEFORE WARRANTY EXPIRED TOLD BY DEALER THAT IT WAS THE "3 VALVE MOTOR NOISE". WHEN IT GOT WORSE AT AROUND 37K MILES (1K) OUT OF WARRANTY DEALER THEN TELLS ME THAT THERE HAS BEEN A TSB ISSUED (TSB 06-4-7 ORIGINAL VERSION WAS ACTUALLY ISSUED SHORTLY AFTER THE TRUCK WAS BUILT) IT IS THE CAM PHASERS AND VALVE LASH ADJUSTERS AND IT WILL BE $3000 TO REPAIR AND NOW NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. I HAVE REPEATEDLY WORKED WITH THE DEALER AND FORD CUSTOMER CARE TO RESOLVE ISSUE THE LAST PERSON AT CUSTOMER CARE TOLD ME "ITS YOUR PROBLEM" JUST BEFORE HANGING UP ON ME. THIS AFTER A SIMILAR PULLING TEETH EPISODE TO GET THEM TO FIX THE KNOWN CORROSION PROBLEM THAT THEY HAD AND DENIED BEFORE I FOUND A TSB ABOUT THAT TOO, I NOW HAVE ANOTHER LARGE RUST SPOT ON MY BACK DOOR THAT THE WILL NOT FIX EITHER. ALL OF THIS AFTER I PAID $4000 TO GET RID OF THE LINCOLN LS THAT I OWNED THAT THEY COULD NOT KEEP RUNNING AFTER DUMPING THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS INTO A COP PROBLEM THAT WAS EVENTUALLY COVERED UNDER A CUSTOMER CARE PROGRAM. I SURE DID NOT GET ANY MONEY BACK ON THAT. SOMEONE HAS TO WAKE SOMEONE OVER AT FORD UP AND GET THEM TO FIX THIS GARBAGE THEY HAVE BEEN TURNING OUT.. *TR
SLOW SPEED, APPLIED BRAKES, NO RESPONSE. PEDAL WAS SOFT. *TR
ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL LIGHT, I WAS DRIVING ABOUT 50MPH WHEN THE CAR SLOWED DOWN TO A STOP AND THE GAS PEDAL WOULD NOT WORK. THE CAR WAS RUNNING AND ROLLING, BUT I COULD NOT ACCELERATE. (SCARY) *TR
THE VEHICLE LOSES POWER WHILE YOU ARE DRIVING, THERE IS NO WARNING OF ANY TYPE. JUST ALL OF A SUDDEN YOUR TRUCK WON'T MOVE. THIS CAN CAUSE SOMEONE TO REAR END YOUR VEHICLE. *CN
2005 FORD EXPEDITION WITH PEDAL DESIGN DEFECT. CONSUMER STATES THAT WHILE PRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL ALSO CAN GET DEPRESSED. DEALER TOLD HIM THEY COULD DO NOTHING IT WAS THE WAY THE PEDALS WERE SET UP. *KB THE CONSUMER EXPERIENCED THE PROBLEM ON 4 DIFFERENT OCCASIONS. THE CONSUMER STATED THE PEDALS WERE TOO CLOSE TOGETHER. *JB
IT TAKES 20 MINUTES TO FILL UP MY GAS TANK. FORD PUT SOME TIME OF RESTRICTION OR REROUTED THE FUMES AT THE GAS CAP. I HAVE TO ACTUALLY HOLD THE NOZZLE BACK AND INCH FROM THE OPENING AND SHOOT THE GAS AT THE TANK. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION AND I AM SURE MUCH MORE DANGEROUS THAN THE ORIGINAL PROBLEM THE ENGINEERS WERE TRYING TO CORRECT (DUE TO A LAWSUIT). NOW FORD IS SAYING THAT THEY WILL NEED TO PUT THE CAR ON AN ENGINE ANALYZER ($160) THEN LOWER THE GAS TANK ($500 TO $600) IN ORDER TO SEE IF THE FUME VAPOR HOSE MAY BE FROZEN OR SUPPOSEDLY THERE IS A REPLACEABLE FILTER THAT THEY LOCATED ABOVE THE FUEL TANK. MY RESPONSE WAS ..."NO ENGINEER WOULD LOCATE A REPLACEABLE FILTER ABOVE THE FUEL TANK"! THEN THE SERVICE MANAGER BLAMED THE PROBLEM ON EPA...AS HE IS AWARE OF OTHER EXPEDITIONS WITH THIS PROBLEM...I SAID " I RETIRED FROM EPA..THEY MAY HAVE REQUIRED YOU TO DO SOMETHING WITH THE EMISSIONS....BUT THEY NEVER INSTRUCTED YOUR ENGINEERS TO LOCATE A FILTER ABOVE THE FUEL TANK"!!! I HAVE SPOKE WITH TWO DIFFERENT FORD GARAGES AND FILL THAT THEY ARE GIVING ME A RUN AROUND...MAYBE BECAUSE I AM A WOMEN AND THEY THINK I WILL PAY CLOSE TO $1,000 TO JUST GET FUEL IN THE VEHICLE! *TR
OUR 2005 FORD EXPEDITION EDDIE BAUER EXHIBITS THE SAME SYMPTOMS AS WERE REPORTED TODAY REGARDING "CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR ON FORD 7 LTR ENGINES 1997-2003 - ENGINE SHUTS DOWN WHILE DRIVING FORWARD , AT VARIABLE SPEED: VERY SLOW TO HIGHWAY SPEEDS. WILL RESTART ON FIRST TRY AFTER COMING TO COMPLETE STOP. MESSAGE PANEL SHOWS "CHECK THROTTLE LINKAGE" OR SIMILAR. FIRST OCCURRED AROUND JULY 07 SECOND TIME TOOK TRUCK TO FORD DEALER AUG 11 - THEY WERE UNABLE TO REPRODUCE PROBLEM AFTER TESTING FOR SEVERAL HOURS (AT LEAST THAT'S WHAT THE CHARGE SAID). ONE MONTH LATER IT HAPPENED AGAIN, HAS NOW INCREASED INTERMITTENT TO ONCE EVERY 2-3 WEEKS. INCIDENT DATES START APPROX JULY 2007 THROUGH YESTERDAY 12/05. *TR
I HAVE A 2005 FORD EXPEDITION, EDDIE BAUER. MOST RECENTLY (2 WEEKS AGO), MY CHECK ELECTRONIC THROTTLE LIGHT CAME ON, I CALLED MY LOCAL DEALER AND PLANNED TO TAKE IT IN THE NEXT DAY. I WORK CLOSE TO HOME AND HAVE LIMITED DRIVING DISTANCE. ON THE WAY HOME, THE THROTTLE WENT COMPLETELY OUT AND THE VEHICLE CUT OFF ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND WAS UNABLE TO BE RESTARTED AND HAD TO BE TOWED. MY LOCAL DEALER DID FIX IT IN A TIMELY MANNER. HOWEVER...THIS IS NOT THE FIRST PROBLEM. WE BOUGHT IT BRAND NEW AND WITHIN A MONTH THE FUEL INJECTOR WENT OUT WHEN I WAS COMING BACK HOME FROM OUT OF TOWN, MY DRIVERS SIDE SEAT ADJUSTMENT WENT OUT TWICE AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. I AM SHORT AND HAD TO DRIVE WITH MY SEAT ALL THE WAY BACK. 2 CAM PHASERS HAD TO BE REPLACED BACK IN THE SUMMER AND THEN MOST RECENTLY THIS. I HAVE 2 SMALL CHILDREN AND WOULD PREFER A DEPENDABLE VEHICLE. I FILED A FORMAL COMPLAINT WITH FORD AND HEARD FROM THEM TODAY OF WHICH I WAS TOLD THAT HAVING 49,000 MILES ON MY VEHICLE IT WAS NOT UNUSUAL FOR PARTS TO GO BAD. I LIVE ON A HARD SURFACE ROAD AND DRIVE TO WORK, NORMAL DAY TO DAY ACTIVITIES AND OF COURSE VACATION. THE ONLY THING THEY WOULD DO WAS UPGRADE MY WARRANTY TO COVER THE TRANSMISSION. DEFECTS THAT WERE TO BE FIXED. TRANSMISSION. WHEN STOPPED ON A HILL IF YOU REMOVE YOUR FOOT FROM THE BRAKE THE VEHICLE WILL ROLL OUT OF CONTROL. THIS HAPPENS IF YOU ARE STOPPED WITH THE VEHICLE IN REVERSE GOING DOWN A HILL OF IN DRIVE GOING UP A HILL. THE TRANSMISSION WILL SHIFT AT ODD TIMES AS YOU ARE DRIVING. REAR PASSENGER DOME LIGHT FLICKERS WHEN YOU TURN IN ON WITH THE SWITCH IN THE BACK. RIGHT TURN SIGNAL FLASHES VERY FAST. TIRES ARE VERY BAD OUT OF BALANCE. DRIVER DOOR DOES NOT LATCH UNLESS IT IS SHUT HARD. I TOLD JESSE THAT THEY HAD TO BE DONE BY 5:00 PM. AFTER KEEPING THE VEHICLE ALL DAY NOTHING WAS FIXED. DURING MY VISIT IN YOUR OFFICE ON 12-9-05 YOU ASSURED ME THAT THE TRANSMISSION WOULD BE REPLACED. YOU ALSO STATED THAT FORD WAS AWARE OF THE BAD TIRES AND WOULD REPLACE THEM NOW THAT I HAD COMPLAINED. IN ADDITION TO THE ABOVE THE FOLLOWING NEW DEFECTS HAVE BEEN FOUND. TURN SIGNALS WILL SOMETIMES NOT WORK AT ALL. WHEN MAKING A SHARP TURN THE REAR END WILL SLIP. YOU CAN FILL IT NOT HOLDING THE ROAD. OUTSIDE FUMES ARE SUCKED INTO THE VEHICLE. ANY SMELL OR EXHAUST FROM THIS OR OTHER VEHICLES IS PULLED INSIDE. THE LEATHER ON THE FRONT SEATS HAS TURNED BLACK. THE TRANSMISSION, REAR END PROBLEM AND TIRES ARE ALL MAJOR SAFETY PROBLEMS. THESE MUST BE FIXED. I FEEL THAT HAVING MY WIFE DRIVE A VEHICLE WITH THESE PROBLEMS IS PUTTING HER IN DANGER. THE TURN SIGNALS AND LIGHT PROBLEM ARE POSSIBLE FIRE HAZARDS. THE UNCONTROLLED AIR INTAKE IS A PROBLEM THAT COULD CAUSE PEOPLE INSIDE THE VEHICLE TO BE GASSED BY A PASSING VEHICLE. MY WIFE HAS VERY BAD ALLERGIES WHEN THESE SMELLS ARE PULLED INTO THE VEHICLE SHE HAS TROUBLE BREATHING. I HAVE NEVER OWNED ANYTHING MADE FROM LEATHER THAT HAS CHANGED COLORS. *NM
I WAS APPROACHING AN INTERSECTION AT CRAIG AND I-15. THIS IS KNOWN TO HAVE A GREEN LIGHT, YET THE TRAFFIC WILL SUDDENLY STOP INSTEAD OF A STEADY FLOW. I WAS DRIVING MY FORD EXPEDITION THAT I PURCHASED LESS THAN 2 WEEKS BEFORE. SUDDENLY THE TRAFFIC STOPPED, I SLAMMED ON THE BRAKES TO AVOID HITTING THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME. I NOTICED THAT MY VEHICLE DID NOT STOP. I ENDED UP HITTING THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME. I GOT CITED FOR GOING TOO FAST FOR THE CONDITION OF THE TRAFFIC. AT THAT TIME I DID NOT NOTICE A PROBLEM WITH THE PEDALS, ACCELERATOR AND BRAKE HAVE A CONFLICT. SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS NEW TO ME, I DID NOT NOTICE THE PROBLEM UNTIL A MONTH LATER, ALTHOUGH I QUESTIONED HOW I COULD HAVE THIS COLLISION AFTER SLAMMING ON THE BRAKES AS I DID. AFTER THE VEHICLE GOT OUT OF THE SHOP, I WAS DRIVING IN A RESIDENTIAL AREA. I APPLIED THE BRAKE TO SLOW DOWN AND NOTICED THE ACCELERATION INCREASING. IT WAS THEN THAT I REALIZED THAT I WAS PRESSING THE ACCELERATOR AND BRAKE PEDAL AT THE SAME TIME. I AM 6'3" TALL WITH A 11 1/2 IN SHOE. MY FOOT IS LARGER THAN THE AVERAGE MAN, I BELIEVE THAT THE PEDALS ARE TOO CLOSE TOGETHER UNTIL YOU ARE AWARE OF THIS AND MAKE A CONSCIENCE EFFORT TO SWITCH FROM ONE PEDAL TO ANOTHER. *NM
