While traveling approximately 65 MPH on State Highway 35 near Austin, TX, my Expedition violently shifted out of gear when I attempted to accelerate to move into the next lane out of the way of a commercial 18 wheeler that was changing lanes. This caused me to lose power and coast until I could recover drive ability. My family and I were sitting ducks in the middle lane of a 4-5 lane stretch of highway. I was able to get off the highway and park in the nearest parking lot. I remember seeing a red notification stating something like “No Shift” on the dashboard display when the issue happened. Immediately confirmed no other issues, transmission and cooling system temperatures were in normal range and no other check or warning lights came on. Also, did not see any leaks and all fluids were within normal ranges.
2020 FORD EXPEDITION. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARD TO NHTSA SAFETY RECALL 22V-250.
The 2nd row Captain's chair track became broken and the seat is stuck on the track, in the forward most position. The seats can lift off the track to allow passengers to easily access the 3rd row. The seat, if the button is pushed, becomes stuck forward and needs to be manually released. Malloy Ford of Winchester VA is the dealership that has looked at this defect and determined it to be a warrantied repair. They will not comment on my safety concerns. I have reached out to Ford Motor Co with the same, silent response about safety. Parts are unavailable, according to them.
The contact owns a 2020 Ford Expedition. The contact stated that the driver’s and passenger’s side running board failed to operate as needed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer on several occasions and the contact was informed that the vehicle was cleaned; however, the failure persisted. The contact demanded that the dealer repair the vehicle, and the running board motor was replaced. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle jerked and hesitated while depressing the accelerator pedal. There was no warning light illuminated. The failure persisted and the engine overheated with black smoke coming from the vehicle. The powertrain wrench warning light illuminated with a message to check the Owner's Manual. Due to the failure, the vehicle was towed back to the dealer, and it was determined that the torque converter needed to be repaired. The vehicle remained unrepaired at the dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 42,000.
Shifting of the gears when going from 1 through 10. Hard shifts between 2-5. Skipping 2 and 5 gear sometimes. Will not shift smooth between 7-8 sometimes. Starting grinding for no reason. RPM's will shout up and not catch a gear. Engine temperature has been running at over 220+ and it grinds when its at 223+ degrees. Powertrain issues of no power. Have taken to 2 ford dealers. One said that they would have to get into transmission to find problem. Other one said that the it would need a new transmission, as it had metal in it. I do not have receipts in front of me right now but can get them if needed.
I recently purchased this vehicle and I have had the problem from the beginning. When driving and slowing down. Usually around 5th gear or slower, it will shift hard into the lower gear with an obvious noise(thunk) coming from the rear of the vehicle. You can also slightly feel this. I have tried to duplicate the issue without using brakes to rule that out and I have done so. It is definitely not a brake issue but a transmission/power train issue. This happens to me multiple times a day on most every drive. I have looked at multiple forums to see if this is a common issue and it seems that it is. A common issue without a reliable fix. I am hoping that of multiple people claim this issue that Ford will in fact take it seriously and fix the issue
My transmission shifts very hard while driving. Mainly from 4th to 5th gear while going 50MPH on a decline. The car has been in the shop for it a couple times and have yet to “replicate” the issue or repair it. The blind monitor system keeps saying it’s having an issue responding to the transmission. I get notified on my app constantly, yet the dealership has told me they can’t replicate it therefore no repairs have been made.
The contact owns a 2020 Ford Expedition. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the electrical system in the vehicle unexpectedly shutdown. The vehicle was driven to several dealers where it was diagnosed and determined that the gate module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 49,000.
The contact owns a 2020 Ford Expedition. The contact stated while driving 45 MPH, the vehicle inadvertently lost motive power and stalled, but independently regained motive power. The vehicle was taken to the dealer several times however, the mechanic was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 86,000.
Transmission failed multiple times. Caused loss of forward movement and inability to move out of the way of traffic. Caused blind spot sensors to become inoperable. Vehicle would not move and had to push it out of the road and was almost struck by multiple vehicles. Repaired under warranty replaced transmission. Second trans mission has started doing it again. It fails at highway and city speeds. No warning lights Pryor to failure.
There's two different incidents oke happened at approximately 30,800 transmission made a hard clunk around 30 mph, transmission error on dash appeared but cleared as soon as I came to a stop. Transmission started working but shifting differently as in Harder shifts but not all the time. Last week on. February 4th wife stated she felt a hard shift and thought transmission dropped/broke I know ford will say can not replicate symptoms so I am reporting this incase more issues arise from ford expeditions as this can be a safety issue for family's with children or as in our case we foster and are always taking kids to where they need to be
The contact owns a 2020 Ford Expedition. The contact stated when the vehicle was first started, the vehicle hesitated before shifting out of park(P) into drive(D). The contact stated that the vehicle also hesitated while driving at various speeds and then jolted into the next gear. Additionally, the contact stated that after reversing down the driveway and attempting to shift reverse(R) to drive(D) the vehicle hesitated and was still rolling backwards after the contact had shifted to drive(D). The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 36,000.
Driver's door latch inoperable when in freezing weather, potentially blocking egress in emergency situation. Ford has issued a service bulletin to address this safety concern and engineering (and testing!) flaw, yet will not cover safety concern because car is out of warranty. SSM 50571 - 2018-2021 Expedition And 2020-2021 Explorer - Doors Intermittently Unable To Lock/Unlock And/Or Difficult To Open In Freezing Temperatures Some 2018-2021 Expedition and 2020-2021 Explorer vehicles may intermittently exhibit doors unable to lock/unlock and/or difficult to open in freezing temperatures. This may be due to water entering the interior door latch lock indicator cable assembly. To resolve the condition, replace the affected latch and cable assembly per Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 501-14. Use the latest level service parts only. The transmission does not operate properly. It frequently searches between gears when shifting and then shifts hard into the next gear. It makes loud clunking noises when decelerating. Numerous times when shifting from park to reverse the vehicle lurches. I brought the vehicle to the Ford dealer in March of 2023. The dealer stated they could not duplicate any issue that was not normal. Over time this has gotten worse. I have a second appointment with the dealer scheduled.
The contact owns a 2020 Ford Expedition. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle failed to accelerate properly while depressing the accelerator pedal. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer; however, the dealer failed to duplicate the failure. The contact stated that after several visits to the dealer, the dealer acknowledged the failure, and a valve body replacement was performed. The contact stated that the failure returned, and the failure became more frequent. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, and the ignition coils and spark plugs were replaced. The vehicle was valeted back to the residence, and the valet informed the contact that the failure was still present. The valet brought the vehicle back to the dealer, where it remained. The vehicle was diagnosed with a defective transmission, and the contact was informed that the vehicle was no longer covered under warranty. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000.
APIM failure which results in loss of screen and information that has safety related items. Ford should provide a recall on all failed units. Customer forums have many complaints about this item.
Muffler and exhaust pipes have gotten rusted. I only have 37k miles on it. Is this a defect from manufacturer? I have many other cars but not rust over 100k miles.
The transmission in the car is not functioning properly. Shifting is not happening correctly and there is slippage. The shift between gears is significantly impacting the car while in motion. The lurch between gears skips the car ahead. Further, Ford Dealers are so backlogged with transmission issues that they are refusing to diagnose and service vehicles due to lack of technicians and parts.
I own the 2020 Expedition. I pressed down on the gas pedal to accelerate into traffic. While the truck should have down shifted and accelerated, instead the powertrain completely disengaged; a total loss of power. The RPM jumped way up to redline, I took my foot of the gas pedal and as the RPM came back down, the transmission slammed back into engagement. At this point, I was finally able to accelerate. This issue has put us in danger as when I am on the road and try to accelerate to my vehicle does go into gear acts if it's in neutral. Also I have been at stop light and light turns green cars are honking as my car won't move. I have had this issue for quite some time, I called for they took it in for inspection the first time and found no issue, took it in again and they said it was the Cadillac converter, they replaced it, and they reprogramed the vehicles gears and now I am expirenceing the same issues, but worst. 2020 Ford Expedition
1) Automatic transmission; Yes 2) Transmission defect causes the vehicle to unexpectedly lose power, increasing the chance vehicles traveling behind could collide with the vehicle (powertrain occasionally does not initially respond to throttle input) 3) Yes 4) The vehicle has been inspected by a Ford dealership; unknown with regard to inspection by others (the vehicle has been serviced by a Ford dealership five times and the problem has not been corrected; early symptoms did not include unexpected loss of power; Ford refuses to replace the trans) 5) October 2021; initial symptom was harsh downshifts; symptoms as of 16 January 2023, are harsh downshifts, harsh reverse engagement when vehicle is cold, erratic upshifts (see above) and burning transmission fluid; an error message appeared while driving on 16 January (see attached)
There seems to be an issue with the 10 speed gear shift in my 2020 Ford Expedition. We were driving on the interstate when we attempted to slow down to shift lanes, the gear shift very harshly and then would not respond to pressing the acceleration pedal. It made some very loud clunk noises and after a few minutes, it finally responded to the acceleration but it also was skipping gears and shifting really hard. Upon research, I found out that older models have an issue with the 10 speed shifter as well as others with my same make/model/year. Will bringing my vehicle in for inspection since this can be very dangerous in busy highways.
The APIM is malfunctioning causing backup camera to remain on, not allowing GPS location of vehicle, inhibiting cameras from working properly. No WiFi functionality, cannot connect phone and I cannot stream music
When shifting from park to drive or reverse, the car slams into gear and jolts the entire vehicle, sever times while going up a steep driveway at a low speed it slips and grabs into gear, while driving into my home complex the speed is 25 MPH so if i have my foot on the gas no problem but when i coast and let my foot off the gas it will clunk super hard like it almost went into reverse or something because the jolt was that severe, same thing will happen when i accelerate onto the freeway and then let off the gas, I don't think this is SAFE at all, pretty scary to be honest. I have a 2020 Ford expedition.
The transmission has now had over 5 shifting stall and power loss events while on the highway when attempting to downshift when accelerating. This loss of power causes a drastic reduction in speed and delay in actions. These events have nearly cause accidents at highway speeds. Additionally the radar sensor for the collision avoidance system went out and the car now shifts harshly in any gear with jerking and clanking. Multiple service lights are now illuminated. This first happened around 20k miles, but is has been increasing in frequency and now the car is not safe or driveable. This is the same transmission that is affecting other ford cars, like the ford 150 which has been subject to recalls. From publicly available information Ford thinks it’s a shifter and transmission disconnect but has not been able to implement a fox.
The contact owns a 2020 Ford Expedition. The contact stated that while driving between 30-40 MPH, the vehicle unexpectedly downshifted. The contact stated that during the failure, a thud was felt and heard as if the vehicle had been involved in a collision. The contact stated that during one failure, the "shift system error, service required" warning message had appeared on the instrument panel. The contact had taken the vehicle to a dealer where a mechanic informed him that the CDF sleeve might have spun inside the transmission casing. The mechanic asked the contact for permission to tear down the transmission to confirm the failure; however, the contact declined the service. The manufacturer was then notified of the failure and transferred him to the NHTSA Hotline. The vehicle was not repaired and remained in the possession of the dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 65,000.
Driving on freeway and slowed down due to traffic and trucks ahead. Got over into left lane, accelerated and vehicle stalled then jerked forward. Wrench light came on. Got off the freeway, turned vehicle off and waited 5 minutes. Another time was driving up the grapevine to LA, vehicle stalled and again quickly accelerated forward. I got off the freeway to allow the vehicle to rest. Third incident, driving on freeway, wrench light again appeared. When taking long road trips, I must stop every 2 hours in order for vehicle to not stall and to eliminate having transmission issues.
I read that there is a recall on 2021/2022 Fords with Eco Boost but not the 2020. I have had my vehicle into the dealership multiple times due to misfires and loss of all power which has almost caused multiple accidents on the interstate. I accelerate to get into the left lane and lose all power and do not get power back until my vehicle decelerates down to around 40 mph/or a lower gear, causing semi’s and other vehicles to have to slam on their brakes so that they do no run into the back of me. It idles very roughly and overall has been the worst vehicle mechanically that I have ever owned. The dealerships always say they cannot find anything wrong with it or cannot reproduce it but it happens on a daily basis and keeps getting worse. I have had the transmission updated, changed the cool packs, and changed the plugs which has not helped at all. I want to know why the 2020 Expedition is not included in this recall? This is the most expensive vehicle I have ever purchased and I would expect it to run smoothly with no issues and I am very disappointed. Not only disappointed in the vehicle, but in Ford itself for not acknowledging this issue. I have read many complaints from other customers experiencing the same issues and unable to find a fix for it. I would like some answers and for Ford to make things right with my Expedition. I am not able to trade it in or sell it due to having all the issues that it has and frankly I’m not sure I trust Ford anymore or if I’ll ever buy a Ford product again and we have been faithful Ford owners for years. Thank you for your time and I’ll be looking forward to hearing back from you soon regarding this issue. Sincerely, [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
I was traveling on the interstate when I was slowing down to get off an exit, got struck from behind at more than 80mph and rear ended a semi trailer that released the emergency brakes of his truck abruptly..my airbags did not deploy. suffered multiple lacerations through my body because of this double impact.
Every time I put seatbelt on in passenger side it locks up and it stays in that position until I take it off. I can pull on it and it will not move at all I will unusually have to take it off and put on again just for the same thing to happen.this happens with front seats belts not sure if back ones do the same I just know I can not put on back seat belt it’s seems they are made for kids only.
1. Power train (transmission) slips causing the vehicle to jerk. Issue is most noticeable when accelerating out of 3/4 gear to 5th and into 10th. Yes available. 2. The vehicle randomly without a noticeable pattern, and when stopped at a light, the engine would shutoff (which is designed with auto start stop) but when stepping on the gas pedal, would not start back up. It would need to be put in park and push start the motor. Additionally, when the vehicle is on an angle, even if the emergency break was set while the vehicle is in neutral and then out in park would shift violently when putting the transmission from park to drive or reverse. 3.multiple Ford dealers were contacted for support but the soonest appointment was 90 plus days out. When the vehicle was dropped off it sat for three days before a call to the manager helped a tech “look” at it. The fix was a so call update to the onboard computer. Vehicle still shifts hard when going into 5th and 10th and when moving from park into drive or reverse on any incline regardless, wether the emergency break is set or not. 4. No. 5. No on board signage, except the battery light when the issue happened with the engine shut off.
At approximately 35,000 miles we started noticing a harsh shift. We have taken the vehicle into the Ford Dealership 3 times and they have made repairs each time (overhauled main control valve body replacing the separator plate and channel plate, replaced the torque converter, replaced a broken seal inside C-clutch, replaced main valve body, flushed transmission cooler and lines). Each time the vehicle appears fine, but the harsh shift returns, typically within a couple thousand miles. The harsh shifting occurs when it shifts into 5th gear. At one point the vehicle stopped all forward movement and left me and my daughter blocking lanes of traffic at a very busy intersection - putting ourselves and other motorists in danger. Each time we take the vehicle in, the dealership test drives the vehicle and confirms the harsh shifting. One of the dealer techs stated they've had a lot of problems with the Ford 10 speed transmission. The transmission shifts start out fairly mild, but then get more intense pretty quickly. The harsh shifts have made loud clunking noises, caused the vehicle to lunge or shudder during shifts, and have almost felt like we were struck by something. On a roadtrip the transmission actually shifted hard enough that it woke my wife up who was in a deep sleep.
I was driving my Expedition and the sunroof exploded out of nowhere. I had the screen closed so no one was injured.
Panoramic moon roof exploded without warning. No debris or objects hit roof. Glass fell into vehicle from above. Ford denying any manufacturing wrong doing. Glass could have cut or injured children sitting in car seats below.
I own the above listed 2020 Expedition. We were traveling on Interstate 287 yesterday. I was in the right lane and was stuck behind a slow moving semi truck. I put on my blinker and waited for an opening in traffic to move into the middle lane. When an opening presented itself I pressed down on the gas pedal to accelerate into traffic. While the truck should have down shifted and accelerated, instead the powertrain completely disengaged; a total loss of power. The rpm jumped way up to redline, over revving, but the truck was slowing down. I took my foot of the gas pedal and as the rpm came back down the transmission slammed back into engagement with a loud audible clunk that jolted the whole vehicle. At this point I was finally able to accelerate. While this was all happening I had just moved into the middle lane of traffic, which was bearing down on us. All the vehicles behind us wear slamming their brakes and honking their horns. I thought for sure we were going to die. Thank God it wasn't an 80,000 lbs Peterbilt bearing down on us or we would be dead, by the grace of God we're not. Upon returning home I went onto the Ford truck owners website I belonged to. I came to learn this is a known issue with Ford's 10 speed transmission that Ford has failed to address. That there are pending lawsuits and that the NHTSA is aware of the issue. One of the member suggested that I file a complaint with the NHTSA, that was my impetus for writing you today. This is a dangerous condition that Ford needs to remedy. Thank you in advance for your time and attention in this matter
Driving on a 4-lane highway when a box truck directly ahead stopped quickly due to a stopped car ahead of it. The forward collision warning flashed and beeped, but when forcefully applying the brakes, the brake pedal only pulsed (like anti-lock brakes) but didn't slow the car even enough for the driver or passenger to feel any inertia moving forward in their seats or with their heads. The automatic emergency braking also didn't work, leading to a rear-end collision forceful enough to push the box truck into the car in front of it, apparently injuring the driver of the front car who was transferred by emergency personnel to a nearby hospital to seek medical evaluation/assistance. After impact, a message appeared on the dash stating "Pre-collision assist not available", but the forward collision warning worked, there was no prior warning of issues for the pre-collision assist, and the warning message was after impact, which significantly damaged the front portions of the vehicle (estimated damages exceed $24,000). There was a recall for the same model and year of this vehicle for pre-collision assist features/software not working properly, but it either didn't apply to this specific vehicle or was already addressed by the dealer, and the details aren't quite the same as what was experienced in this collision.
[XXX] on my way to pick up kids from school in Dallas and take them home. I was driving about 65 mph trying to accelerate to pass an 18 wheeler, to exit. As I press on the gas there was no acceleration. All l hear is motor revving as if I’m in neutral, it feels like it slipped the gears resulting in the inability to speed up. At this point, I’m in front of the 18 wheeler, which is coming up on me while I am unable to accelerate. I have to swerve to avoid him hitting me while nearly hitting the car next to me. Luckily, there wasn’t an accident. It remains this way for about 3 sec & then I take my foot off the gas & try accelerating again & it catches a gear and performs normally. I took it to the dealership & they kept my car for over a month did a complete overhaul on the transmission they said they repaired it & gave my car back. After a few days the same problem occurred. I took my car back & they did a 2nd overhaul on the transmission & gave me my car back. The same day I picked up my car after repairs the same problem happened. I’ve taken my car to a Ford dealership 6 times now for same issue. Currently my car is back at the same dealership & they’re trying to correct the issue. I drive 6 children all under 10 years old home from school every day & I have lost all confidence in my vehicle. I’m terrified when driving on overpasses, merging or trying to switch lanes, I never know when it will happen. As a result of my fear of this happening with the children, I try to avoid driving on highways at all with them, which is very difficult for picking them up. I filed a lemon law claim but don’t qualify. I have written letters to manufacturer, sent videos of dash when transmission failing so they could see the error codes & gauge’s but they can’t seem to fix it. Please help. Last year (2021), I purchased an Equalizer weight distribution hitch (manufactured by Progress Mfg Inc., Fastway Trailer Products, 353 South 1100 West, Provo, Utah 84601) when I bought my Grand Design Transcend Xplor camper trailer. The dealer sold me the 10,000 lb. hitch which was compatible with the 9,000 lb. GVWR trailer. Recently, (July, 2022) while pulling my camper into a campground site, the shank broke. It broke at the 90 degree joint and the gusset also fractured. Fortunately, I was only creeping into the campsite, so the trailer dropped to the ground, but no damage was done to the vehicle or camper. Upon examining the failure, it appear that one of the welds was defective. In the picture (Broken Trailer Shank - 5) it is clear that the weld on the left side had no weld fusion to the adjoining component. It appears that this was a "cold weld" and was a major contributor to the subsequent failure of the remaining welds and gusset. With the bad weld, the other welds were constantly over-stressed, and subsequently failed during normal use. From the discoloration of this "cold weld" it is evident that this condition existed for some time prior to the final fracture of the remaining welds (which are shinny - final failure) and probably existed since manufacturing. The defective weld also shows signs of "undercut". These are clear signs of poor manufacturing workmanship and should be considered to be a major safety concern. This type of failure should never occur and could have had major safety consequences if the failure occurred while travelling at high speed on the highway.
I bought a 2020 Ford Expedition 2 years ago and since the first day I have had issues with the transmission. I will be driving on the highway, and it will throw me into a lower gear, and I cannot accelerate or do anything until a loud bang is heard and the transmission goes back into the correct gear. I have had the expedition into the dealership and each time been told there is nothing wrong with it. I came across a lawsuit for F150 for the same issue and brought it to the dealerships attention and they told me they did not know anything about that and that nothing was wrong with my Expedition. I finally caught what it does on video and sent it to the dealership and they stopped responding to me after I sent the proof over. This has put not only myself but my children and husband in danger. When this happens, a wrench pops up on the display screen and then goes away.
We have experienced the problems of bad shifting, error codes, sudden deceleration, lack of acceleration and the vehicle going into "limp mode" over the past three years. These events have been extremely dangerous as they have occurred at highway speed multiple times and have occurred while towing a boat. We had taken it into the dealer in in September of 2022 and the dealer claimed they could not find a problem. It should be noted that the vehicle was under warranty at the time. We continued to experience the problems and took it to a different Ford dealer last week and they found the problem and stated the vehicle was subject to a TSB about the transmission and said the transmission must be replaced. And it was not covered by warranty or recall. I have researched the issue and there are hundreds of complaints about Ford's 10 speed transmission having problems. This is a dangerous problem and Ford is aware of it and will not take responsibility.
Automatic transmission making abrupt and lurching gear changes (even coming out of Park) in addition to mechanical sounds. Safety has not been an issue, so far. The situation has not been inspected by dealer or any other mechanic. Vehicle still under warranty with less than 8,000 miles. No warning messages have surfaced. Never involved in crash or flooding.
When accellerating in 5th, or6th gear trans slips out hard and car wont accelerate for 1 to 2 seconds. It displays being in 1st while this happens before it goes back into precious gear and starts driving.
Can be driving on freeway at 70 mph and all of sudden vehicle stalls or transmission begins to slip or stall. Make this grinding clinking sound.all lights on dash light up. Nearly caused a crash . Vehicle jerks and jumps back into gear and then takes off again. Will also do this at even 35 mph too. This has happened numerous times. We have taken it in to Ford and they can’t find anything wrong with it
At 70+ MPH the automatic transmission made a loud clinking sound, lost acceleration/power for approximant 5-8 sec, and the "wrench" and other lights on the cluster board lite up with every light flashing on the interstate in a passing lane, and heavy traffic all around. This same incident occurred just 2 days later at approx 35 mph. It was erratic, disorienting and very distracting. The sudden change in behavior of the vehicle could have caused me to lose control of the vehicle at speed on a the interstate and could easily resulted in an accident causing major injury and damage. This issue has occurred approximately 8 time in the last year starting at approx 22K miles. The dealer says the car has no fault codes and they have download "updates" to the software. One time the dealer had a code of "Stuck in park". That did not resolve the issues. To date they have no explanation for why the vehicle behaved in this manner. Honestly, i am very reluctant to drive this vehicle. I am at a loss on where to go with this issue.
While driving down the highway I heard a pop in my vehicle and realized my sunroof had burst. Glass separated and flew into my car and cut myself and my 4 small children. No warning lights were on in my vehicle at this time. When brought to the dealership for repair, the repair shop reported that this will happen with these vehicles and to pursue reimbursement with Ford. Unfortunately, Ford reports that vehicle is not under warranty and the repairs won’t be covered.
The MOONROOF EXPLODED- PLEASE come look at it before this kills someone!!!!!! Had the curtain been open the glass would have gone all over my children, it also poses danger to those that might be driving behind/around you should the glass fly into their vehicle/passerby's. It appears this has been a issue but a recall has yet to be issued which is mind blowing to me- as these vehicles often are hauling large families posing a huge safety risk. There were NO WARNINGS!!!!!!!!!!!! GLASS EVERYWHERE_ ADDRESS this before someone gets killed!!
I have a 2020 Expedition that we have had to change the windshield wipers out on frequently. I just replaced them last week and they are already bouncing during a heavy rain. I saw there was a recall to some of the windshield wiper arms but when I entered my VIN, mine was not included.
The transmission is skipping or jerking randomly. It has happened several times while driving on the expressway and when driving on the regular roads. It is concerning that this is happening more often which puts my and my family's lives at risk when we are driving at high speed on expressway and vehicle will jerk and gears get stuck which can cause me to get hit by another vehicle or semi truck. There is no warning that this is going to happen. I bought the truck in Sept 2021. It happened to me in May of 2022 and has been happening more often now. I took truck to dealership on 3/13/24 and service adviser just told me that they know this is common in the expeditions but that the transmission module needed to be reset. I asked if this covered under warranty since it is known issue and should not be happening to brand new vehicles. I also spoke to a friend who has a similar expedition and this has happened to them where their vehicle has left them stranded for transmission jerking all of a sudden. Ford needs to fix this issue. I should not have to pay for Ford to recaliberate the module to get the transmission to work properly. I also had them check my radio screen because it keeps going to a black screen and/or gets stuck on the rear camera not having access to anything on the screen. I was also told by advisor that they had to put a new module in it because again this is a known issue on the computer screen as well.
At least 5 different times while driving I go to push the accelerator and the gear seems to slip and an awful sound like gears grinding is heard. I always feel like my transmission is going to fall out from under the car. It prohibits the car from moving and I have almost been hit from behind because I cannot accelerate at the time. It has happened on the freeway, in town driving, and even accelerating up my driveway. I have taken it to a Ford dealership but no answers.
Transmission jerks the whole car very hard when going from park to drive. Transmissions try’s to downshift when going 50, then shift up. More hard jerking/shifting when going shifting under 40-60 mph. Transmission seems defective
Transmission is slipping very bad. Really shifts hard between gears, especially from 4th to 5th gear. Went to pass a vehicle, on acceleration the transmission slipped and the engine rpm's went very high. I let off the accelerator and the gear caught. I thought the transmission was done at that time.
