The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and the contact was informed that the projector inside the headlight assemblies were defective, causing the headlights to not illuminate as needed. The contact was provided an estimate for the repair. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000.
NEW VEHICLE PURCHASE ON 9/10/20, OWNER NOTICED HEADLIGHT BEAMS WERE POSSIBLY MISALIGNED APPROXIMATELY 9/22/20 IN A WELL LIT CITY. MISALIGNMENT WAS CONFIRMED WHEN TRAVELING FROM A TOWN WITH LESS LIGHTING ON 9/26/20. DRIVER NOTICED MISALIGNMENT CAUSES DELAYED REACTION TIME AS HILLS, CURVES, AND ROAD SIGNS WERE NOT VISIBLE. CONTACTED DEALERSHIP TO REPORT ISSUE ON 9/28/20. DEALERSHIP SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT TO REMEDY ISSUE FOR 10/15/20.
