TANK MOUNTED FUEL PUMP FAILED, CAUSING GASOLINE UNDER PRESSURE TO BE PUMPED OVERBOARD UNDER THE VEHICLE.
BRAKES PULLED FROM THE LEFT TO RIGHT EVENTUALLY CAUSING THE SYSTEM TO LOCK UP. *AK
WHILE DRIVING AT SPEEDS OF 60MPH OR MORE A SEVERE VIBRATION OCCURS, MAKING IT VERY DIFFICULT TO STEER AND HAVE CONTROL OVER THE VEHICLE. *AK

AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION IN PARK VEHICLE WENT BACKWARDS IN HIGH SPEED AND CRASHED, THE WHEELS TURNING AND ENGINE ROARING.THE IGNITION COULD NOT BE TURNED OFF. *AK

CONSUMER STATES THAT AFTER PARKING AND TURNING THE VEHICLE OFF THE VEHICLE CAUGHT ON FIRE ON THE DRIVER SIDE WITHIN THE STEERING COLUMN UNDER THE DASH, CAUSE UNKOWN. PLEASE GIVE ANY FURTHER DETAILS. *AK

BRAKES FAIL WITHOUT WARNING. DRIVER SIDE PADS FALL APART AND DESTROY THE ROTOR. BRAKES LAST APPROX. 6 MONTHS. PROBLEM CANNOT BE DETERMINED.
PAINT ON THE ROOF IS COMING OFF.
PAINT IS PEELING FROM VEHICLE AND FORD OFFICIALLY CLAIMS TO HAVE NO KNOWLEDGE OF THE PROBLEM OF OF TSB 91-18-1.
MAJORITY OF BRAKE PARTS HAVE BEEN REPLACED OVER LAST 3 YEARS AND PROBLEM PERSISTS. REAR BRAKES LOCK AT ALL SPEEDS AND VEHICLE SWERVES TO RIGHT. SEVERAL BRAKE EXPERTS CANNOT FIND PROBLEM.
VEHICLE VIBRATES DUE TO ENGINE MOUNTS AND LACK OF INSTALLATION OF THE REAR AXLE LATERAL SHOCK ABSORBER.
VEHICLE VIBRATES CONSTANTLY.

WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES THE PEDAL GOES TO THE FLOOR AND THE VEHICLE DOES NOT STOP. DEALER HAS NOT SEEN. VEHICLE HAS TO BE PUT IN 4-WHEEL DRIVE IN ORDER TO DRIVE SAFELY. *AK
A FEW MONTHS AGO I HAD A FIRE IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT WHICH BLEW SMOKE INTO THE CAB. THE DEALER SAID TREE LEAVES HAD ACCUMULATED ON THE AIR INTAKE DUCTS AND CAUGHT FIRE. THE FIRE BURNED THROUGH THE DUCT, WHICH CAUSED THE SMOKE TO BE SUCKED INTO THE CAB. IN THE NOVEMBER 2, 1998 ISSUE OF AUTOMOTIVE NEWS, ON PAGE 15, THERE IS A REPORT OF A NHTSA INVESTIGATION ON 1992-1994 EXPLORERS FOR THIS VERY REASON! THE REPORT STATES THAT 14 COMPLAINTS HAD BEEN RECEIVED. MAKE THAT 15. MINE IS A 1991, HOWEVER. THE FIRE CAUSED ABOUT $300 IN DAMAGE TO THE DUCT SYSTEM. *MJS
SPARE TIRE ASSY MISSING LOST ON HIWAY. CABLE BROKE DUE TO RUST OR ROAD SALT . WAS THERE THE LAST TIME SERVICED TRUCK IN DEC 98 DONT WHEN OR WHERE LOST COULD BE VEARY DANGEROUS IF FELL OFF AT HIGH SPEED THIN CABLE END RUSTED OFF FORD SHOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR TIRE AND RIM AND TIRE HOLDER ASSY .I HAVE BEEN A FORD MECHANIC 20 YEARS .THIS IS A POOR DESIGN
EXCESSIVE PAINT PEELING FROM TOP AND HOOD. *AK
I INSTALLED A LIFT KIT AND BIGGER TIRES. KNOWING THAT MY SPEEDOMETER WOULD BE OFF, I HAD A SHOP CHECK IT OUT FOR ME AND FOUND THAT WITH THE LARGER TIRES, THE SPEEDOMETER WAS ALMOST PERFECTLY MATCHED TO REAL SPEED (NEW TIRE SIZE 31X10.5X15) THIS MEANS THAT THE ORGINAL SETUP FROM THE FACTORY WAS OFF, THEREFORE INCREASING THE MILAGE SHOWN ON MY ODOMETER, WHICH HAS DECREASED THE VALUE OF THE VEHICLE, AS WELL A, MAKING THE WARRANTY END AT A SOONER DATE. *AK
SMOKE AND FLAMES FROM ALL AC VENTS WHILE DRIVING, FIRE CONSUMED ENTIRE VEHICLE. FIRE REPORT, PICTURES & INSURANCE REPORT AVAILABLE. REPORTED TO FORD MOTOR COMPANY. NO POSITIVE RESULTS.
FOR ABOUT A YEAR THERE WAS AT TIMES A SMELL OF SOMETHING BURNING WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED. IN JANUARY, 1999 SMOKE POREDE OUT OF THE DASH AND THE HEATER BLOWER STOPPED WORKING. BURNING LEAVES IN THE AIR INTAKE. NOW THE VENT SYSTEMS EXUDE A BURNT SMELL AND THE INTERIOR OF THE CAR IS PERMEATED WITH THE SMELL. THE BLOWER MOTOR RELAY (OR SWITCH?) WAS REPLACED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. HOW DO WE AVOID ANOTHER FIRE? HOW DO WE GET RID OF THE SMELL?
DEBRIS, LEAVES AND MOUSE FOUND WITHIN THE HEATER SYSTEM COIL CAUSING SMOKE TO ENTER VEHICLE.
I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE IN 1997.MY BROTHER, WHO WORKS FOR A FORD DEALERSHIP, INFORMED ME, AFTER I MENTIONED THE FACT, THAT THE REAR SEAT BELTS HAD BEEN RECALLED. BUT HE ALSO TOLD ME THAT THE RECALL NOTICE HAD EXPIRED, THEREFORE, FORD WOULD NOT REPLACE MY SEATBELTS. NOW HOW CAN THIS BE? I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE NOT KNOWING THAT THERE WAS A RECALL, SO HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO HAVE IT FIXED BEFORE THE EXPIRATION, IF I WAS NOT AWARE OF THE RECALL???? WE HAVE A 7 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER WHO RIDES IN THE REAR SEAT. AND THE SEATBELTS ARE DEFECTIVE???? HOW IS THAT GOING TO KEEP HER SAFE? WE BELIEVE THAT FORD SHOULD REPLACE THESE REAR SEAT BELTS, WITHOUT QUESTION. PLEASE HELP. RECALL 92V113000. *AK
THE SUN ROOF LEAKS AND HAS CAUSED WATER DAMAGE IN THE FRONT PART OF THE INTERIOR, INCLUDING THE ROOF, SEATS AND CARPET. ALSO THE PAINT HAS RAPIDLY WORN AWAY AND RUST HAS FORMED AS A CAUSE OF THIS. THE METAL IS SHOWING WHERE PAINT USED TO BE
