THE DRIVER SEAT BELT LATCH FOR THE RESTRAINT HAS FAILED TO STAY SECURE. IT LATCHES AND LOCKS BUT THEN DOES RELEASE WITHOUT WARNING AND WITHOUT INTERFERENCE FROM THE OPERATOR WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. THIS IS A POTENTIALLY LIFE THREATENING CONDITION IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT. I HAVE REPORTED THIS TO MY LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP AND TO FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE (MONICA) ON JUNE 7TH. NEITHER HAVE OFFERED TO REPLACE THE DEFECTIVE LATCH WITHOUT COST. I FEEL THIS IS NOT A COSMETIC DEFECT BUT A POTENTIALLY LETHAL PROBLEM WITH THE EQUIPMENT. THE VEHICLE IS A 1995 FORD EXPLORER LIMITED EDITION. *JB
1995 FORD EXPLORER XLT ROLLED BACKWARDS AFTER PUT IN PARK. CUSTOMER STATES THAT THE VEHICLE PINNED HER AGAINST THE GARAGE DOOR. CUSTOMER STATES THE VEHICLE ROLLED BACKWARDS ON AN INCLINE AND PINNED HER AGAINST THE DOOR. *KB THE CONSUMER WAS INJURED. THE MUSCLE TISSUE AND NERVES TO HER RIGHT PELVIS AND UPPER THIGH WERE SEVERELY DAMAGED. *JB
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP MULTIPLE TIMES. ALTHOUGH, AN UNDETERMINED NUMBER OF PARTS WERE REPLACED THE STALLING CONTINUED. AFTER CONDUCTING RESEARCH ON THE INTERNET THE CONTACT DETERMINED THE PROBLEM IS WITH THE IGNITION MODULE. UPON INSPECTION THE DEALER DETERMINED THERE IS NO PROBLEM WITH THE IGNITION MODULE.
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED THE P23575R15 COOPER DISCOVERY ATR TIRES WERE LOSING AIR. THIS OCCURRED IN ALL FOUR TIRES. THE TIRES HAD BEEN CHECKED FOR HOLES AND CRACKS AND NONE WERE FOUND. THE TIRES MUST BE FILLED 3 TO 4 TIMES PER WEEK. THE TIRES WERE KEPT AT 35 POUNDS.
SMELL OF BURNING PLASTIC FILLED CABIN OF VEHICLE AND FLOOR UNDER DRIVERS FEET GOT HOT. DISCONNECTED BATTERY AND SENT TO GARAGE. *JB
I HAVE EXPERIENCED AN UNDER THE HOOD FIRE ON MY 1995 FORD EXPLORER WHICH I BELIEVE WAS CAUSED BY A FAULTY SPEED CONTROL DEACTIVATION SWITCH. MY VEHICLE HAD BEGUN TO EXHIBIT SYMPTOMS WHICH HAVE BEEN DESCRIBED IN RELATION TO RECALL CAMPAIGN NUMBER 05V388000. SPECIFICALLY, THE CRUISE CONTROL HAD STOPPED FUNCTIONING, BRAKE FLUID WAS LEAKING AROUND THE SWITCH AND MY VEHICLE HAD STARTED BLOWING FUSES. ON OCTOBER 29TH MY FIANCE DROVE THE VEHICLE TO WORK. SHORTLY AFTER HAVING ARRIVED AT WORK, SOMEONE INTERRUPTED A MEETING SHE WAS HAVING WITH HER SUPERVISOR TO INFORM HER THAT HER VEHICLE WAS ON FIRE. THE FIRE WAS QUICKLY EXTINGUISHED AND THE VEHICLE WAS NOT A TOTAL LOSS. IN FACT, THE DAMAGE LOOKS RELATIVELY MINOR TO ME. HOWEVER THE LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP HAS GIVEN ME AN ESTIMATE FOR REPAIRS IN THE AMOUNT OF $12860.02. I HAVE RESEARCHED AND DETERMINED THAT THE SWITCH FOR MY EXPLORER IS THE EXACT SAME SWITCH AS IS USED ON THE 1995 FORD F-150, WHICH IS THE SUBJECT OF A RECALL FOR THIS VERY ISSUE. THE PART NUMBER IN QUESTION FOR THE EXPLORER IS F3TZ9F924BB. THE PART NUMBER FOR THE F-150 IS F3TZ9F924B. A PARTS SALES PERSON AT THE FORD DEALERSHIP HAS INFORMED ME THAT THESE PARTS ARE IDENTICAL AND HAS FAXED ME INFORMATION TO PROVE THIS. I ALSO HAVE VERY GOOD PHOTOGRAPHS OF THE DAMAGE, AS WELL AS THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN TOUCHED SINCE THE FIRE OTHER THAN TO BE TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP. I BELIEVE THE ESTIMATE FOR REPAIRS IS BASED ON A VISUAL INSPECTION. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS CALLED, SO THERE MAY BE AN OFFICIAL REPORT AVAILABLE. *NM
1). GAS PEDAL STICKS. 2). PUFFS OF SMOKE COME FROM STEERING COLUMN IN THE AREA OF THE EMERGENCY LIGHT BUTTON. 3). CRUISE CONTROL SHUTS OFF. *NM
DT: 1995 FORD EXPLORER - MASTER BRAKE CYLINDER CAUGHT ON FIRE. INCIDENT OCCURRED ON SEPTEMBER 8, 2005. WHILE IN THE DRIVE THROUGH AT A FAST FOOD RESTAURANT STARTED SMELLING SMOKE, SMELT LIKE PLASTIC. WHEN THE CONSUMER LIFTED THE HOOD IT WAS ON FIRE.*AK
DRIVER'S SEATBELT DOES NOT LATCH. THE SPRING WHICH PRESSES THE LATCH IN PLACE DOES NOT RETURN TO ITS INTENDED POSITION, KEEPING THE SEATBELT FROM BEING LATCHED SECURELY. NORMAL USE HAS LED TO THIS FAILURE. FORTUNATELY, THERE HAVE BEEN NO CONSEQUENCES YET. I PLAN ON TAKING THE VEHICLE INTO THE DEALER SOMETIME SOON, BUT UNFORTUNATELY IT MAY BE A COUPLE OF DAYS BEFORE I CAN GET IT SERVICED.
REAR SPRING SHACKLES ON 1995 FORD EXPLORER TOTALLY RUSTED THROUGH. I HAVE BEEN VERY MAINTENANCE ORIENTED SINCE I PURCHASED NEW. *JB

AC STAY ON, CANNOT DEFROST. I SUSPECT BLEND DOOR, ACCORDING TO INTERNET FORUMS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM
DRIVER SEAT BELT LATCH UNLATCHES WHILE DRIVING. NO CONSEQUENCES. REPLACING ASAP.
MY 1995 EXPLORER WAS SITTING AND AT 12:30AM, WHEN IT CAUGHT ON FIRE AND BURNED. THE FIRE STARTED UNDER THE HOOD, AND THE VEHICLE WAS A TOTAL LOSS. THE INCIDENT OCCURRED ON THE EVENING MARCH 23. THIS WAS THE SAME EVENING THAT FORD RECALLED THE EXPEDITION FOR THIS VERY SAME TYPE OF PROBLEM, A COLD VEHICLE CATCHES FIRE UNDER THE HOOD. THIS WAS WHAT OUR EXPLORER DID AS WELL. HOWEVER WHEN WE CALLED FORD THEY SAID THAT THE EXPLORER WAS NOT ON THE RECALL.*AK
I PRESSES THE THROTLE VERY HARD TO ACCELERATE AND THE PEDAL FROZE FULL THROTLE IT TOOL ABOUT 50 YARDS TO STOP THE ENGINE REMAINED FULL THROTLE IT FINALLY CHANGED AFTER I SWITCHED TO PARK GEAR,BUT ONLY AFTER THE ENGINE RACED HIGHER FOR ABOUT 5 SECONDS.*AK
CONSUMER STATED CRUISE CONTROL MALFUNCTIONED. CONSUMER STATED THAT BRAKE FLUID LEAKED ONTO THE CRUISE CONTROL TERMINAL. CONSUMER WAS CONCERNED THAT THE VEHICLE WILL CATCH ON FIRE. *AK THE CONSUMER ATTEMPTED TO BUY A REPLACEMENT PART FROM THE DEALER, HOWEVER, HE WAS TOLD THE PART WAS ON BACK ORDER. *JB
DRIVER'S SIDE SEAT-BELT LATCH SEEMS TO HAVE FAILED DUE TO THE SPRING MECHANISM. FIRST, THE BELT WOULD DETACH WITHOUT WARNING (WHILE DRIVING) AND THEN DIFFICULT TO LATCH AT ALL. SEEMS TO BE SIMILAR TO OTHER COMPLAINTS FOUND ON YOUR WEB VRTC-DCD2038 (EA02-011) I CALLED FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE (WORTHLESS - BUT THEY DID CONFIRM MY CAR WAS MANF. IN APRIL 1995 WHICH SEEMS TO TRACK WITH THE BATCH OF SPRINGS WHICH HAVE FAILED IN OTHER COMPLAINTS.) MY ISSUE IS THAT, EVEN THOUGH THE SEAT BELT NOW IS UNLATCHABLE, BEFORE IT HAD SPURIOUS "UNLATCHINGS" WHILE DRIVING, LEADING ONE TO SUSPECT MAYBE I DIDN'T LATCH IT COMPLETELY - SO IN AN ACCIDENT, NOT KNOWING THIS IS A POTENTIAL DEFECT OF THIS YEAR OF THIS COMPONENT AT TIME OF MANF., IN AN ACCIDENT, THE FAILURE COULD HAVE CATASTROPHIC EFFECTS OF DEATH AND INJURY DUE TO THE FAILURE OF THIS PRIMARY SAFETY RESTRAINT SYSTEM. IT SEEMS A KNOWN POTENTIAL ISSUE WITH THESE SPECIFIC DATE/COMPONENTS. WHY WOULDN'T FORD AT LEAST INSPECT THEM AND AVOID THIS???? *NM
DRIVER'S SEAT BELT WILL NO LONGER STAY IN LATCHED POSITION. I SUSPECT A SPRING OR SPRING-LIKE MECHANISM THAT HOLDS THE SEAT-BELT RELEASE BUTTON IN THE LATCHED POSITION HAS FAILED.
AFTER OPERATING THE HEATER A FIRE OCCURRED UNDER THE HOOD. IT BURNED THE PLASTIC CASE AROUND THE HEATER CORE AREA. I WAS ABLE TO PUT OUT THE FIRE WITH A FIRE EXTINGUISHER. I CONTACTED THE LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THAT NO RECALLS HAD BEEN ISSUED ON MY VEHICLE (1995 FORD EXPLORER VIN# [XXX]). THE SERVICE TECH AT THE DEALERSHIP SAID THAT THE HEATER CORE COULD NOT HAVE CAUSED THE FIRE AND THAT PERHAPS A MOUSE HAD BUILT A NEST INSIDE AND THAT COULD HAVE BEEN THE CAUSE. HE DID NOT MENTION ANY SERVICE BULLETINS REGARDING ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS IN THE DASH,A/C/,HEATER AREA THAT I LATER FOUND ON THE INTERNET. HE SUGGESTED I BRING THE CAR IN FOR REPAIR. NEEDLESS TO SAY I AM NOT TAKING IT TO THE DEALERSHIP. I DO HAVE AN APPOINTMENT FOR MONDAY (1/24/05) AT A REPAIR SHOP. I WILL KNOW MORE ABOUT COSTS TO REPAIR AND THE EXTENT OF THE DAMAGE THEN. PEP BOY PART FAILURE.*MR WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH, CONSUMER LOSS COMPLETE POWER. THE TENSION PULLEY HAD DISINTEGRATED. THIS WAS THE SAME TENSION PULLEY WHICH WAS INSTALLED BY PEP BOYS 7 MONTHS PRIOR TO FAILURE. *TT
THE BRAKE LINE RUSTED, CAUSING THE BRAKE PEDAL TO GO TO THE FLOOR WHEN DEPRESSED. CONSUMER REPAIRED THE PROBLEM BY HIMSELF. DEALERSHIP WAS NOTIFIED, BUT COULD NOT DUPLICATE/RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. *AK
THE CRUISE CONTROL FAILED TO WORK WHEN TRYING TO SET THE SPEED. DEALERSHIP WAS NOTIFIED, BUT DID NOT RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. *AK
CLEAR COAT IS PEALING ON HOOD AND OVER BACK HATCH, TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS AND HEADLIGHT PROBLEMS THE HEADLIGHT WILL NOT WORK ON DIM I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE SHOP AND THEY CAN NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT. THE SENSOR KEEPS GOING OUT ON THE TRANSMISSION.*AK
SEAT BELT ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE IS DEFECTIVE. WHEN THE SEAT BELTS ARE LATCHED TOGETHER THE SEAT BELTS WILL SEPARATE INADVERTENTLY. CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER, WHO STATED THAT THE DEFECT WAS IN THE BUCKLE WHICH WILL NOT HOLD THE LATCH ONCE ENGAGED. *AK

CUSTOMER STATES THAT HER VEHICLE ACCELERATED WITHOUT WARNING. *KB THE CONSUMER STATED EVEN HAVING 2 FEET ON THE BRAKE DIDN'T STOP THE VEHICLE FROM ACCELERATING. WE OWN A 1995 FORD EXPLORER XLT THAT HAS A FAULTY CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH. FORD WILL NOT FIX THE SWITCH, BUT HAS RECALLED OTHER AUTO MODELS TO FIX THE SAME PROBLEM. *JB
WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH REAR DRIVER SIDE TIRE TREAD SEPARATED. AS A RESULT, MATERIAL OF THE TIRE WENT UNDER THE VEHICLE AND DAMAGED PART OF THE REAR WHEEL. *AK
ON SATURDAY, AUGUST 21, 2004 I PULLED OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY AND ATTEMPTED TO APPLY MY BRAKES. THE BRAKES WENT TO THE FLOOR WITH VERY LITTLE RESISTANCE. I CONTINUED DRIVING ABOUT 100 FT AND NOTICED THE BRAKE LIGHT HAD COME ON. I THOUGHT IT MIGHT BE THE EMERGENCY BRAKE. IT WASN'T. WITHIN 10 SECONDS OF NOTICING THE BRAKE LIGHT I ATTEMTED TO STOP. AFTER ABOUT A MINUTE OF APPLYING THE BRAKES, I STOPPED. I APPLIED THE EMERGENCY BRAKE AND DECIDED TO OPEN THE HOOD TO SEE IF THE BRAKE RESERVOIR WAS EMPTY. IT WAS 3/4 LOW. I WENT BACK TO THE HOUSE AND BROUGHT BACK A CAN OF DOT 3-4 BRAKE FLUID. I FILLED THE RESERVOIR TO THE PROPER LEVEL. I GOT BACK INTO THE CAR AND STARTED THE VEHICLE. I AGAIN PRESSED ON THE BRAKE PEDAL AND AGAIN THE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR. I USED THE STEERING WHEEL TO TURN THE TIRES TO THE FAR RIGHT AND THEN TO THE FAR LEFT. I LOOKED BEHIND BOTH FRONT WHEELS TO SEE IF THERE WAS ANY VISIBLE SIGNS OF BRAKE FLUID LEAKING. THERE WAS NONE. I DECIDED TO CHOCK THE BACK TIRES BUY PLACING A LARGE TREE LOG BEHIND EACH REAR TIRE. I THEN CRAWLED UNDER THE REAR AREA OF THE VEHICLE AND NOTICED DRIPPING BRAKE FLUID COMING FROM ABOVE THE TRANSAXLE (REAREND). I PLACED MY HAND ABOVE AND FELT THE HYDRAULIC LINE AND FELT A LARGE AMOUNT OF CORROSION ON THE BRAKE LINE. I AM SENDING THE VEHICLE TO PARKWAY AUTO REPAIR ON WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 25, 2004. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO SEE PICTURES OR THE ACTUAL BRAKE LINE AFTER IT IS REMOVED, PLEASE LET ME KNOW. NO CRASH OR INJURIES OCCURRED FROM THIS EQUIPMENT FAILURE. *AK
VEHICLE EXPERIENCED SUDDEN ACCELERATION WHILE DRIVING AT 70 MPH. WHEN THIS OCCURRED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR, AND DIDN'T GO BACK UP UNTIL THE TRUCK WAS STOPPED AND TURNED OFF. CRUISE CONTROL WASN'T ENGAGED AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT. THE EMERGENCY BRAKE WAS ENGAGED AND SERVICE BRAKES WERE DEPRESSED TO STOP OR SLOW DOWN THE VEHICLE. DEALERSHIP PERFORMED SEVERAL TESTS, INCLUDING A DIAGNOSTIC TEST, BUT NO PROBLEM WAS FOUND. VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY AT THE DEALERSHIP.*AK
REAR HATCHBACK HINGES ARE BUCKLED, PREVENTING THE HATCHBACK FROM CLOSING. WATER GETS INSIDE BECAUSE OF THE 1 1/2 INCH GAP IN THE REAR HATCHBACK. ALSO, EXHAUST FUMES ARE COMING FROM THE REAR HATCHBACK. *AK
WHILE HAVING THE VEHICLE INSPECTED FOR A TRIP CONSUMER WAS INFORMED THAT THE TIRES HAD BUBBLES ON THE TREAD ON BOTH FRONT TIRES. *AK
I HAVE A 1995 FORD EXPLORER WHICH THE HEADLIGHT SENSOR CONTINUOUSLY GOES BAD WHICH WOULD NOT BE AN ISSUE IF THE HEADLIGHTS WOULD CONTINUE TO WORK WITHOUT IT. WHEN THIS SENSOR, WHICH HAS GONE BAD TWICE SINCE I HAVE HAD THE VEHICLE, FAILS I SHOULD NOT BE MADE AWARE OF THIS UNTIL THE HEADLIGHT GOES BAD AND THE SENSOR DOES NOT ALERT ME. WHEN THE SENSOR GOES BAD I GET AN INDICATION THAT THE HEADLIGHTS ARE OUT AND WHEN REPLACED THEY ARE STILL OUT BECAUSE THE TRUE PROBLEM IS THE SENSOR HAS GONE BAD. HOW A SENSOR GOES BAD WHEN IT STILL SENSES THE LAMP NOT FUNCTIONING IS BEYOND ME. THIS IS A DESIGN DEFICIENCY IN MY OPINION AND THE MANUFACTURER SHOULD BE RECALLING THIS ITEM DUE TO THE OBVIOUS SAFETY ISSUE. THE SENSORS SHOULD BE REPLACED BY THE MANUFACTURER AT NO COST TO THE CUSTOMER AND REPLACED WITH A SENSOR THAT IF IT WERE TO FAIL WOULD NOT AFFECT THE OPERATION OF THE HEADLIGHTS. *NM
1995 FORD EXPLORER DRIVER'S SEAT BELT BUCKLE RETURN SPRING APPEARS TO HAVE SUDDENLY BROKEN, SAME AS DESCRIBED IN PRIOR ODI ACTION NO. EA02011. SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE CREATED: APPEARS TO LATCH, THEN UNLATCHES SUDDENLY WHILE DRIVING. PROBLEM OCCURS FREQUENTLY, SO BUCKLE/BELT WILL BE REPLACED ASAP. *AK
FRONT PASSENGER SEAT BELTS WILL NOT STAY LOCKED IN THE BELT BUCKLE, AND WILL RELEASE WITHOUT WARNING. DEALERSHIP WAS NOTIFIED, BUT DID NOT RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. *AK
OVER DRIVE LIGHT FLASHING, TRANSMISSION IS SLIPPING AND NOISY BETWEEN 1ST AND 2ND GEAR ,AND ALSO WHEN IT STOPS. *AK
HOOD LATCH FAILURE AT APPROX.40MPH CAUSING HOOD TO RELEASE AND COMPLETELY COVER WINDSHEILD... TOTALLY BLOCKING FORWARD VISION.RESULTED IN DAMAGE TO HOOD AND LOWER WINSHIELD AREA.($1000.00 +)IF THIS WOULD HAVE HAPPENED AT HIGHWAY SPEED THE CHANCE FOR SERIOUS INJURY WOULD HAVE BEEN GREAT!!!!!FORTUNATELY TRAFFIC WAS LIGHT AT TIME OF INCIDENT(APPROX 6PM ON SUNDAY EVENING) . *AK
WHILE APPLYING THE BRAKE PEDAL, IT WENT TO THE FLOOR. THE DRIVER WAS ABLE TO MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND DROVE IT HOME. THE CAUSE HAS NOT BEEN DETERMINED AT THIS TIME. THE DRIVER WILL CONTACT THE DEALER IN THE NEAR FUTURE. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER DETAILS. *JB
WHILE DRIVING AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT APPEARED ON THE DASHBOARD INTERMITTENTLY. *AK
ONE YEAR AGO I NOTICED THE OVERDIRVE LIGHT BEGAN FLASHING ON MY 1995 FORD EXPLORER. I WAS TOLD BY A LOCAL MECHANIC THAT MY TRANSMISSION HAD TO BE REBUILT. WE SPENT $1000 ON THE REPAIRS. NOW, ONE YEAR LATER, THE OVERDRIVE LIGHT IS FLASHING AGAIN AND I'M TOLD THAT ALL THAT IS REQUIRED IS TO CLEAR THE CODE BECAUSE EXPLORERS DO THIS ALL THE TIME. I'M HEARING FROM SEVERAL OTHER OWNERS OF EXPLORERS THAT THESE VEHICLES HAVE VERY FREQUENT TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS WHICH WOULD INDICATE A MANUFACTURER DEFECT.*AK

ON OUR 1995 FORD EXPLORER 4 DOOR XLT, THE MAIN VERTICAL SUPPORT OF THE DRIVER'S SEAT BACK BROKE UNDER NORMAL STRESS (LEANING BACK). I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM BRIDGESTONE FIRESTONE IN SEPTEMBER 2006 AND REPLIED THAT I HAD PAID DOWNTOWN FIRESTONE IN MUSKEGON, MICHIGAN ROUGHLY $300 IN 2003 TO REPLACE FOUR OF MY TIRES BUT THE SPARE WAS NOT CHANGED. I HAVE SINCE E-MAILED TWICE DURING THE PAST TWO MONTHS AND HAVE NOT RECEIVED A RESPONSE. *NM

CONSUMER'S CONCERN OVER THE HANDLING BY FORD MOTOR COMPANIES OF THE CRUISE CONTROL DEACTIVATION SWITCH RECALL.*MR ONE NOV 11, 2003 THE CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER BECAUSE THE BRAKE LIGHT ILLUMINATED, BRAKE FLUID WAS LEAKING AND THE CRUISE CONTROL NO LONGER FUNCTIONED. THE DEALER QUOTED THE CONSUMER $5000 TO FIX THE VEHICLE. THE CONSUMER DECLINED THE REPAIR, PURCHASED THE PART HIMSELF AND REPLACED IT HIMSELF. THE CONSUMER RECENTLY HEARD ABOUT THE RECALL AND CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER TO SEE IF HE COULD RECOVER THE MONEY HE SPENT TO REPLACE THE FAULTY PARTS. THE MANUFACTURER INDICATED THAT THE CONSUMER'S VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE CONSUMER'S VEHICLE ALSO EXPERIENCED STALL DURING ACCELERATION, EXCESSIVE TIRE WEAR, PULLING TO THE RIGHT AND TRANSMISSION FAILURE.

MY 1995 FORD EXPLORER HAS THE ACCELERATOR PEDEL STICKING AT HIGH RPM WHICH CAUSES THE VEHICLE TO LOCK WIDE OPEN THROTTLE RESULTING IN THE VEHICLE SPEEDING OUT OF CONTROL. THE VEHICLE CANNOT BE STOPPED EVEN BY STANDING ON THE BRAKE PEDEL WITH BOTH FEET. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES. THROTTLE CAN BE UNSTUCK ONLY BY STOMPING ON THROTTLE SEVERAL TIMES.*AK
DRIVER'S SIDE SEAT BELT LATCH IS DEFECTIVE. IT IS DIFFICULT TO LATCH (LIKE IT HAS A BROKEN SPRING INSIDE) AND IT REPEATEDLY UNLATCHES DURING USE. I HAVE BOUGHT A REPLACEMENT PART, BUT HAVE NOT INSTALLED IT YET.
THE DRIVERS SIDE SEAT BOLT ON MY VEHICLE BROKE, WHILE I WAS DRIVING ACROSS A SCHOOL PARKING LOT. THIS CAUSED MY SEAT TO QUICKLY FALL BACK TO THE RECLICED POSITION. I WAS ABLE TO MAINTAIN CONTROLL BY PULLING MYSELF BACK TO THE UPRIGHT POSITION. THIS IS A SCARY SITUATION. THANKFULLY I WAS NOT TRAVELING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS AND NO ONE WAS HURT.*AK
