THE DRIVER'S SIDE SEAT BELT LATCH WILL NOT STAY ENGAGED IN THE BUCKLE. THE LATCH CONTINUES TO UNLOCK AND RELEASE FROM THE BUCKLE. DEALER HAS BEEN NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. *AK
DT: THE CONTACT STATED THERE WAS NHTSA RECALL 95V053000 CONCERNING TIE ROD ASSEMBLY, AND RECALL 95V052000 CONCERNING SERVICE BRAKES; HOSES, LINES, PIPING AND FITTINGS. THIS VEHICLE EXPERIENCED THE SAME PROBLEMS AS INDICATED IN THE RECALLS, BUT WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALLS DUE TO VIN. NO REPAIRS HAVE BEEN MADE AT THIS TIME. *AK
WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED TO EXTREMELY HIGH RPMS WITHOUT WARNING.*AK THE CONSUMER HAD TO PRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL WITH BOTH FEET TO GET THE VEHICLE TO SLOW DOWN. *NM
I HAVE A 1995 FORD EXPLORER THAT HAS HAD MANY PROBLEMS..CURRENTLY I AM HAVING TROUBLE WITH THE COVERTER CLUTCH. I HAVE CHECKED INTO THIS AND IT SEEMS THAT MANY EXPLORERS ARE HAVING THIS SAME TROUBLE. I WROTE A LETTER TO FORD MOTORS COMPANIES AND RECIEVED A PHONE CALL FROM THEM TELLING ME HOW SORRY THEY WERE TO HEAR OF MY COMPLAINTS... I THINK THIS IS PRETTY POOR THAT THEY WON'T DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS
1995 FORD EXPLORER STALLS WITHOUT WARING AT ANY GIVEN TIME,WHETHER AT IDLE OR DURING ACCELERATION. HAS BEEN CHECKED OUT BY LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP WHERE NO PROBLEMS HAVE BEEN FOUND.*AK
CONSUMER STATES WHILE COMING INTO LONG DRIVEWAY THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL GOT STUCK ATTEMPTED TO BRAKE WITH PEDAL AND EMERGENCY BRAKE. DROVE INTO BRICK WALL.NEITHER ONE OF THE AIR BAGS DEFLACTED. DEALER NOTIFIED.*AK *CB
WHILE DRIVING, THE VEHICLE CAUGHT ON FIRE, WHICH STARTED UNDERNEATH THE DASHBOARD. THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED. *AK THE CONSUMER SUPPLIED A FIRE REPORT. *SCC *JB
CONSUMER STATES THAT TRANSMISSION SLIPS WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE. DEALER NOTIFIED. *AK
ON JUNE 7, 2003 THE RIGHT SIDE TORSION BAR BROKE COLLAPSING THE FRAME ONTO THE RIGHT FRONT TIRE. A METAL INSPECTOR HAS INSPECTED THE PART AND INDICATED THAT IT IS A MANUFACTURING DEFECT. I WENT TO MY FORD DEALER, THE PARTS MANAGER AT THE DEALERSHIP SAID TOO BAD IT HAPPENED NOW BECAUSE MY CAR IS A 1995 AND THE WARRANTY IS UP WITH NO COVERAGE FOR REPLACING THIS PART. WE WILL NEED TO PURCHASE BOTH THE RIGHT HAND PART AS WELL AS THE LEFT HAND PART #S F57A-BC RUB & F57A-BC LUB AND HAVE THEM INSTALLED. I CAN SEND PICTURES OF THE DEFECTIVE PART. *JB
PASSENGER REAR TIRE CAME OFF OF VEHICLE.*MR *TS THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN SERVICED THE DAY BEFORE, ALL OF THE WHEELS WERE REMOVED BECAUSE THE BRAKES HAD TO BE SERVICED AND IT WAS POSSIBLE THE LUG NUTS WERE NOT PROPERLY RE-TORQUED. *JB
THE DRIVER SIDE SEAT BELT BUCKLE FAILED TO LATCH PROPERLY. *JB MOVEMENT BY THE DRIVER CAUSED THE BUCKLE TO RELEASE. THIS WAS A SUDDEN PERMANENT FAILURE OF THE SEAT BELT LOCK. *SCC *JB
WHILE TRAVELING ON THE HIGHWAY AT HIGHWAY SPEED, PASSENGER SIDE REAR TIRE ( FIRESTONE RADIAL ATX P235/75R15 ) HAD FULL TREAD SEPARATION FROM TIRE. WAS ABLE TO SLOW AND PULL OFF OF THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY ONLY TO FIND DAMAGE TO THE RIGHT REAR OF MY '95 FORD EXPLORER. TREAD PIECE HAD COME OFF THE TIRE AND UP HITTING THE LOWER PORTION OF THE FENDER BENDING IT UPWARD TOWARD THE SUPPORTS FOR IT AND THEN HITTING THE PASSENGER REAR TAIL LIGHT COMPLETELY BREAKING IT ENOUGH TO NEED FULL REPLACEMENT. AFTER HITTING THE LIGHT, IT CAME DOWN AND HIT THE PASSENGER REAR DOOR WINDOW AND LEAVING MULTIPLE BLACK TIRE/RUBBER MARKS DOWN THE DOOR TILL IT HIT THE RUNNING BOARD ON THE SIDE.*JB
O/D LIGHT FLASHING/TRANSMISSION FAILURES. *NLM
THE ELECTRICAL MODULE FAILED. *JB
IN APRIL 2003, THE TRANSMISSION IN MY 95 FORD EXPLORER WENT BAD. THE PROBLEM PRESENTED ITSELF BY THE OVERDRIVE LIGHT COMING ON AND BLINKING. SUBSEQUENTLY, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE FASTER THAN 35-40 MILES PER HOUR. THE PROBLEM WAS DIAGNOSED AS THE TRANSMISSION AND IT WAS REPLACED BY COTTMAN TRANSMISSION. SINCE THAT TIME, I HAVE HAD TO HAVE MY VEHICLE IN THE SHOP ON AT LEAST 5 OCCASIONS FOR REPLACEMENT OF A "MODULE" IN THE TRANSMISSION. AS OF JULY 17, 2004, THIS "MODULE" IS CONTINUING TO FAIL CAUSING THE OVERDRIVE LIGHT TO COME ON AND CONTINUOUSLY BLINK. WHEN DISCUSSED WITH COTTMAN, I WAS TOLD THAT FORD WAS AWARE OF THE DEFECT OF THIS ITEM BUT WOULD ONLY CONTINUE TO REPLACE IT AND NOT REPLACE THE ENTIRE TRANSMISSION. SINCE I AM A HEAVY INTERSTATE USER, I AM CONCERNED THAT MY TRANSMISSION WILL FAIL WHILE SPEEDING ALONG THE INTERSTATE AND CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. *JB
THE RECLINER ON THE DRIVERS SEAT BROKE, WHICH CAUSED THE SEAT TO RECLINE BACKWARDS, THE DEALER REPLACED THE BOLT. *JB

ENVIRONMENTAL CONTROL SYSTEM, 1995 FORD EXPLORER -AIR FLOW BLEND DOOR FAILURE CAUSED WINDSHIELD TO COMPLETELY FOG OBSCURING VIEW FORCING EMERGENCY PULL OVER AND STOP ON INTERSTATE. OTHER DRIVERS WERE FORCED TO TAKE EVASIVE ACTIONS TO AVOID COLLISION. *NLM
I WAS DRIVING A 95 FORD EXPLORER SOUTH BOUND ON US 95 AT APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH, WHEN THE VEHICLE BEGAN ACCELERATING ON IT'S OWN. WHEN I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE ACCELERATOR THE VEHICLE KEPT ACCELERATING ON IT'S OWN EVEN WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL OFF AND MY FOOT OFF THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. I THEN TRIED TO APPLY THE BRAKES BUT SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS ACCELERATING THE EXPLORER JUST SHOOK. I ALSO DOUBLE CHECKED THE CRUISE CONTROL AND IT WAS IN FACT OFF AND TRIED TO PUMP THE GAS TO SEE IF THE PEDAL WAS STUCK BUT NEITHER WORKED. WHEN THE VEHICLE REACHED APPROXIMATELY 85 MPH I ATTEMPTED TO SHIFT INTO NEUTRAL WHEN THE VEHICLE SKIDDED OUT OF CONTROL. THE SKID MARK WAS ABOUT 350 FEET LONG AND THEN THE EXPLORER LEFT THE ROAD AND ROLLED A FEW TIMES UNTIL IT CAME TO A STOP ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE WITH THE ENGINE STILL ROARING. THE ENGINE ONLY STOPPED WHEN PASSENGER TURNED OFF THE IGNITION KEY SINCE THE DRIVER WAS UNCONSCIOUS. *JB
I HAVE 2 FORD VEHICLES FROM MID 1990'S. THE HEADLIGHTS ON EACH HAVE LONG SINCE BECOME THOROUGHLY OPACIFIED. MY GUESS IS THAT THIS OPACITY OCCURRED WITHIN THE FIRST 2 TO 4 YEARS. ACCORDING MY MECHANIC (WHO IS A "FORD MAN"), "THIS IS A VERY CHARACTERISTIC AND LONGSTANDING FLAW WITH THE FORD BRAND, YOU WOULD THINK FORD WOULD HAVE DEALT WITH THIS SAFETY ISSUE LONG AGO, BUT FORD HAS NOT AND CONTINUES NOT TO DEAL WITH IT." THIS SAFETI ISSUE/PROBLEM NOT INEXPENSIVE TO REMEDY.
FRONT SUSPENSION; THE RIGHT FRONT WHEEL AND STERRING WHEEL VIBRATE AND SHIMMY AT ALL SPEEDS. THE TRUCK HAS NEVER SAT RIGHT IT ALWAYS SEEMS TO BE LEANING.
TENSIONER BELT WAS GOING INTO IT'S FRAME HOLDER. WHILE OPENING THE HOOD AND TRUCK RUNNING SERPENTINE BELT MIGHT HAVE BREAK HAVE BEEN CUT APART AND INJURING THE PERSON LOOKING FOR THE PROBLEM. 3-OTHER EXPLORER HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WHILE I WAS WITH THE MECHANIC.
FOR THE THIRD TIME, MY '95 FORD EXPLORER DURING NORMAL OPERATION HAS HAD THE THROTTLE STUCK OPEN AND ACCELERATE TO THE POINT WHERE THE TRUCK WILL NOT SLOW DOWN EVEN WHILE APPLYING THE BRAKES. EVEN WHEN THE CAR HAS BEEN PUT INTO THE NEUTRAL POSITION THE ENGINE CONTINUES TO REV. I HAVE TO THROW THE TRUCK INTO PARK AND TURN THE TRUCK OFF BEFORE THE ENGINE WILL SLOW DOWN. THE FIRST TIME THIS HAPPENED A FEW YEARS AGO- I HAD A NEW TRANSMISSION PUT IN. THE SECOND TIME THIS OCCURRED MY MECHANIC TOLD ME THAT THERE WAS BUILD-UP WHICH CAUSED THE THROTTLE TO REMAIN OPEN. THIS IS THE THIRD TIME IN A YEAR AND A HALF AND I AM NOW PETRIFIED TO DRIVE MY ONCE BELOVED VEHICLE. I CAN'T POSSIBLY IMAGINE SELLING THIS CAR AND HAVING THIS HAPPEN TO ANOTHER HUMAN BEING. LUCKILY, THE SECOND TIME THIS HAPPENED A CO-WORKER WAS IN THE TRUCK AND I HAVE AN EYEWITNESS. PLEASE HELP ME!! I AM JUST A NORMAL HARD-WORKING PERON THAT IS TRYING TO GET THIS PROBLEM FIXED AND AM BECOMING MORE FRIGHTENED BY THE RESEARCH I AM FINDING ON THIS SUBJECT OF THE "OPEN THROTTLE". THANKS -DANI MENZEL
THE ABS SYSTEM WAS PROBLEMATIC. TS SCC
WHILE DRIVING ON I-95 IN ROUTE FROM NC TO FL THE ACCELERATOR STUCK. VEHICLE WAS VERY DIFFICULT TO CONTROL WHILE BRAKING AND TRYING TO GET OVER TO SHOULDER. INCIDENT WAS REPORTED TO FORD VIA THEIR WEB SITE ON 1/10/03, CASE ID 681115, NO RESPONSE TO DATE.

WHEN PROCEEDING THROUGH A LIGHT WHILE TURNING, THE TRUCK ACCELERATED. AS THE DRIVER APPLIED THE BRAKES THE TRUCK SLOWLY ROTATED BLOCKING THE SECOND LANE. INADVERTENTLY, THE DRIVER SHIFT GEARS INTO REVERSE THEN NEUTRAL WHICH BROUGHT TRUCK BACK TO NATURAL IDLE. TRUCK DIAGNOSED "AIR IDLE CONTROL VALVE" STUCK IN OPEN POSITION AND NOW NEEDS TRANSMISSION REPLACED. PLEASE DESCRIBE DETAILS. *TS SINCE THE AIR IDLE CONTROL VALVE WAS REPLACED, THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED SUDDEN ACCELERATION. THE CONSUMER WAS CONCERNED ABOUT THE SPEED CONTROL CABLES THAT WERE RECALLED ON THE 1999 EXPLORERS. *SCC
THE VEHICLE HAS GIVEN US GOOD SERVICE UNTIL MAY OF THIS YEAR, WHEN A PROBLEM DEVELOPED IN THE TRANSFER CASE. AN OIL PICKUP TUBE HAD BROKEN, THE UNIT HAD TO BE DISASSEMBLED AND REPAIRED AT A COST OF $1304.53. THIS FAILURE OCCURRED AT 72,202 MILES AND SEEMED PECULIAR AT THE TIME, BUT WE ACCEPTED IT AS UNUSUAL WEAR AT TEAR. ON OCTOBER 21ST WE TOOK THE CAR INTO THE SHOP AS THE OVERDRIVE OFF LIGHT WAS FLASHING. THE SERVICE ADVISOR (JASON SAVIDGE) CALLED LATER THAT DAY AND INFORMED US THAT THE TRANSMISSION WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED. THIS WAS A TOTAL SHOCK TO ME AS AN AUTOMOBILE DRIVER FOR NEARLY 60 YEARS. HAVING OWNED MANY VEHICLES (AND DRIVEN MANY MORE) OF VARIOUS MANUFACTURERS BOTH FOREIGN AND DOMESTIC, I HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED SUCH FAILURES. I DO NOT ABUSE MY VEHICLES AND HAVE THEM SERVICED REGULARLY. AS A ONE TIME APPRENTICE AUTO MECHANIC, A GRADUATE MECHANICAL ENGINEER WITH 40 YEARS OF PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE I KNOW THAT PROPERLY DESIGNED ROTATING MACHINERY, MAINTAINED AND NOT ABUSED WILL LAST ESSENTIALLY INDEFINITELY. I HAVE RETAINED MOST OF MY VEHICLES FOR 100,000 MILES AND MORE WITHOUT SUCH FAILURES. I NOTED ON YOUR WEB SITE A NUMBER FAILURES SIMILAR TO OURS, SOME MULTIPLE TRANSMISSION REPLACEMENTS. I ALSO REALIZE THIS MAY NOT BE A SAFETY ISSUE. BUT WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO GET THE MANUFACTURER TO STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT. I CONTACTED THE CUSTOMER SERVICE AT FORD MOTOR CO. AND RECEIVED AND I AM SORRY BUT NOTHING IN OUR RECORDS INDICATE FORD MOTOR CO. SHOULD PAY OR HELP PAY FOR THE TRANSMISSION REPLACEMENT. DT
THIS IS THE SECOND FORD MOTOR CO REPLACEMENT TRANSMISSION TO FAIL. THE LAST ONE LASTED 18,00 MILES. FORD MOTOR COMPANY INFORMS ME THAT THERE ARE OVER 500 BACKORDERS FOR THIS REPLACEMENT TRANSMISSION. IF THIS IS THE CASE THEN THERE SEEMS TO BE A SERIOUS PROBLEM WITH FORD EXPLORER TRANSMISSIONS. I'VE BEEN GIVEN THE RUN AROUND FOR TWO WEEKS, TOLD TODAY 10/31/02 THAT IT WILL BE ANOTHER MONTH BEFORE I CAN GET A TRANSMISSION. THIS IS A MAJOR PROBLEM AND FORD NEEDS TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR PRODUCING INFERIOR EXPLORER AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS. THANK YOU, DT *TR
LEFT DRIVER SIDE SEAT BELT FEMALE RECEPTICLE DOES NOT SECURE LAP AND SHOULDER SAFETY BELT AT ALL. CLIP IN RECEPTICLE BROKE AND WILL BE PROPERLY SECURE SAFETY BELT RESTRAINT SYSTEM FOR DRIVERS SIDE. MR
WHILE LEANING BACK TO BUCKLE SEAT BELT THE BACK OF THE SEAT COLLASPED. DEALER WAS CONTACTED. THE EXTRA WHOLE WAS PUNCHED OUT BELOW THE BOLT WHOLE. *TS

ATTEMPTED TO RESTART VEHICLE AND ENGINE REVVED UP TO 6000 RPMS. ON 10/12/02 WHILE DRIVING WITH CRUISE CONTROL ENGAGED CAR ACCELERTED W/O WARNING AGAIN. THIS TIME CONSUMER LOST CONTROL OF VEHICLE AND CRASHED SUSTAINING INJURIES. TS

CONSUMER STATES THAT WHEN TRYING TO APPLY THE BRAKES THEY CAN HEAR A LOUD NOISE AND THE BRAKE PEDAL WILL GO TO THE FLOOR CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO HAVE EXTENDED STOPPING DISTANCE. DEALER NOTIFIED. NLMTHE ABS SENSOR WENT BAD CAUSING THE FRONT DISC BRAKE TO WEAR QUICKLY. THERE WAS A RECALL ISSUED REGARDING THE FRONT SWAY BAR LINKS. CONSUEMR WAS CHARGED FOR LABOR AND PARTS. ALSO THE FRONT LOWER BALL JOINTS WERE REPLACED AS WELL AS THE OUTER TIE RODS. *JG
THE LOWER BALL JOINTS AND THE FRONT OUTER TIE ROD END HAD TO BE REPLACED.MR. CONSUMER STATED THE LOWER BALL JOINTS WERE LOOSE AND HAD TO BE REPLACED FOR A SECOND TIME.*JB
WHILE APPLYING JUMPER CABLES TO THE BATTERY OF ANOTHER VEHICLE CABLE STARTED SMOKING, AND PLASTIC MELTED FROM THE WIRES. DEALERSHIP WAS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM.*AK
WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED AND WITH NO WARNING REAR SUSPENSION WILL LEAN TO LEFT, AND WILL CAUSE THE CONSUMER TO HAVE STEERING PROBLEMS. DEALER NOTIFIED.*AK
WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED VEHICLE WILL JUMP OUT OF ITS ORIGINAL GEAR. THIS SLOWS VEHICLE DOWN. CONSUMER IS AFRAID OF BEING REAR ENDED. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY FURTHER INFORMATION.*AK
EACH OF THE 4 DOOR LOCK MECHANISMS (PASSENGER & DRIVER) HAVE BROKEN AT ONE TIME AFTER 100,000 MILES, PREVENTING THE OCCUPANT OF THAT SEAT FROM OPENING THE CAR DOOR FROM THE INSIDE. DOORS COULD BE OPEN FROM THE OUTSIDE (BY ROLLING THE WINDOW DOWN AND OPENING IT USING THE OUTSIDE DOOR HANDLE). THE DRIVER'S DOOR LOCK IS CURRENTLY BROKEN - IF THE DRIVER IS INSIDE WITHOUT KEYS (KEYS ARE NECESSARY TO TURN ON POWER SO THE DOOR WINDOW CAN BE ROLLED DOWN), HE MUST THEN CLIMB OVER THE CENTER CONSOLE TO EXIT THROUGH THE PASSENGER DOOR. AS MENTIONED, THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR LOCK IS CURRENTLY NON-OPENABLE FROM THE INSIDE, BUT ALL OTHER DOORS HAVE HAD THE SAME DEFECT. THERE IS A NEOPRENE DOOR LOCK PART THAT BREAKS AFTER 100,000 MILES OR SO (I WOULD GUESS), WHICH CAUSES THIS PROBLEM. *NLM
1ST INCIDENT: DEC.12TH 1998. CONCERN: SPEED JUMPS ON HIGHWAY AND SURGES ONLY WHEN SPEED CONTROL IS ON. CAUSE: SPEEDOMETER ASSEMBLY BINDING. CORRECTION: REPLACE SPEEDOMETER ASSEMBLY. COST TO ME $309.25 2ND INCIDENT: JAN.5TH 1999. CONCERN: SAME AS 1ST INCIDENT. SPEED JUMPS ON HIGHWAY AND SURGES ONLY WHEN SPEED CONTROL ON. CAUSE: 14401 LOOM, SENSOR & ASSEMBLY SHORTED. CORRECTION: REPAIR LOOM 14401 SPEED CONTROL DIAG. R&R SENSOR & ASSEMBLY. COST TO ME: $308.87. 3RD INCIDENT: TRAVELING ON HIGHWAY WITH SPEED CONTROL SET AT 70MPH. EXPLORER SPEED SLOWLY INCREASES TO 80 ON ITS OWN. I LOOK AT THE SPEEDOMETER, REALIZE THIS AND TAP THE BRAKE. THE EXPLORER IS STILL GOING 80MPH OR HIGHER. I PRESS THE OFF BUTTON TO THE SPEED CONTROL BUT IT WILL NOT DISENGAGE. I CANNOT STOP THE SUV. I DO NOT PANICK BUT I'M SCARED AS I PUT ON THE EMERGENCY LIGHTS, PRESS WITH ALL MY MIGHT ON THE BRAKES AND WITHIN A FEW MINUTES, GET THE EXPLORER OFF THE ROAD TO THE SHOULDER. I PUT THE SUV IN PARK, JUMP OUT OF THE CAR, LOOK BOTH WAYS, CROSS THE HIGHWAY, WAVE MY ARMS FOR HELP AND WATCH AS MY SUV IS PARKED WITH THE ENGINE STUCK AND RUNNING AT 80MPH OR MORE. SOME GOOD SAMARITANS STOP AND I EXPLAIN WHAT HAPPENED. ONE OF THEM APPROACHES THE EXPLORER WITH CAUTION AND TURNS THE IGNITION OFF AND BRINGS ME MY KEYS. IF ANOTHER CAR HAD BEEN NEAR ME WHEN THE EXPLORER WENT OUT OF MY CONTROL, I COULD HAVE HIT THEM AND THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN INJURIES OR POSSIBLE LOSS OF LIFE AT 80MPH. THANK YOU.*AK

DRIVER SIDE SEAT BELT BUCKLE FAILS TO ENGAGE CLIP. APPEARS TO BE A BROKEN SPING RETURN IN THE BUCKLE ASSEMBLY. FORD CUSTOMER CARE CONTACTED AND PROBLEM NOTED.*AK
DRIVERS SEAT COLLAPSED WHILE PULLING OVER TO SIDE OF THE ROAD. MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. *AK CONSUMER STATED WHILE PULLING INTO A PARKING SPACE, THE DRIVER SEAT SUDDENLY SNAPPED. HE WAS PROPELLED BACKWARDS INTO THE REAR SEAT, AS THE BACK OF THE SEAT BROKE. PASSENGERS WERE IN THE VEHICLE, AND COULD HAVE BEEN HURT. ALSO CONSUMER WAS ABOUT THREE SPACES FROM HITTING ANOTHER VEHICLE. CONSUMER FEELS THAT THE DESIGN SHOULD BE CORRECTED, AND CONCLUDES THAT IF HE WERE GOING ANY FASTER, THIS INCIDENT WOULD HAVE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT AND POSSIBLY A FATALITY. THE DRIVERS SIDE SEATBELT LATCH FAILED WHILE DRIVING RELEASING THE SEATBELT, THE SEATBELT COULD BE REBUCKLED BUT THE LATCH CONTINUED TO RELEASE INTERMITTENTLY AND EVENTUALLY FAILED ALTOGETHER. NLM

FRONT STABLIZER AND SWAY BAR HAVE BROKEN IN THE PAST 4 YEARS, FRONT TIRES CAN NOT BE ALIGNED AND WEAR OUT FASTER BECAUSE OF THIS FAILURE. *AK CONSUMER STATES FRONT STABALIZER LINKS WERE REPLACED DUE TO ON GOING COMPLICATIONS, BOTH FRONT WHEELS BEARING HUB ASSEMBLY FAILED, THE FRONT BRAKE PADS AND ROTORS WERE REPLACED, AND THE FRONT BALL JOINTS HAVE SOME PLAY. *YH
