VEHICLE DOES NOT MAINTAIN A CONSTANT TEPERATURE. I HAVE REPLACED THE THERMOSTAT 2 TIMES, AND THE TEMP SENSOR 1 TIME. UNDER POWER THE TEMP GAUGE DROPS TO BELOW NORMAL AND SHOOTS RIGHT BACK UP. WHEN THIS OCCURS THE POWER ALSO DROPS. I PUT IT ON AN ANALYZER AND ALL REPORTS NORMAL. AFTER CHANGING THE THERMOSTAT THE EVERYTHING IS OK FOR APPX. 2 DAYS, THEN IT STARTS AGAIN.
MY ONE OWNER L995 FORD PICKUP HAD ELECTRICAL FAILURE AFTER BEING PARKED AT MY HOME FOR 2/3 HOURS AND BURNED AND WAS TOTALED. WE WERE LUCKY TO BE HOME TO CALL THE FIRE DEPARTMENT AND TO STOP OTHER DAMAGES FROM OCCURRING. DURING A REGULAR INSPECTION IN FEB. THE CRUISE CONTROL WAS NOT WORKING AND THE SHOP ORDER THE NEEDED PART AND IT IS STILL ON BACK ORDER. SINCE FORD HAS A RECALL ON CRUISE CONTROL PROBLEMS THAT CAN CAUSE FIRES, I SENT A COMPLAINT TO THEM AND THEY SAID THERE IS NO RECALL ON THE VEHICLE, AND WE REGRET ANY INCONVENIENCES THAT YOU HAVE EXPERIENCED. THEY SUGGESTED MY INSURANCE COMPANY HAD THE RIGHT TO FILE SUBROGATION AGAINST FORD BUT IS THERE ANY THING WE CAN DO? AT THE LEAST FORD SHOULD RECALL ALL CRUISE CONTROL'S NOT JUST THE 2000 AND NEWER. I WANTED TO NOTIFY YOU THAT IT IS A GOOD CHANCE THAT MY VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED BECAUSE IT WAS NOT ON RECALL AND SHOULD HAVE BEEN. WIFE WAS OUT SIDETAKING TRASH TO CANS AND RAN BACK IN THE HOUSE SCREAMING MY 1995 FORD F-150 WAS SOMKING AND BURNING. I GRABED A EXTINGUISHER AND RAN OUT. I HAD JUST RETUURNED FROM OUR CABIN UP NORTH, 3 HOUR DRIVE. I HAD BEEN HOME ABOUT 1 HOUR WHEN THIS HAPPENED,I LOOKED FIRST AT WHAT WAS GOING ON, THERE WAS WHITE SMOKE COMING OUT OF THE HOOD I OPENED THE HOOD VERY SLOWLY, ONCE I POPED IT II LOOKED IN THE SMOKE WAS COMMING FROM THEFRONT OF THR MASTER CYLNDER. IN JUST A SECOND, THE SMOKE TURNED INTO A FLAME AND THEN II HIT IT WITH THE EXTINGUISHER. TO NIGHT II SAW A SHOW ON CNN ABOUT THIS. I AM VERY UNHAPPY!!!!!!!!!!!
CRUISE CONTROL THAT HAS BEEN CAUSING FIRES IS DOING THE SAME THING TO MY 1995 F-150. I WAS HAVING THE SENSOR REPLACED WHEN THE WIRING HARNESS FOR THE CRUISE CONTROL SMOKED AND BURNED UP. IT HAD BRAKE FLUID IN IT JUST LIKE THE SENSOR DID. IT BLEW A FUSE AND ALSO SMOKED FROM THE CRUISE CONTROL AND THE ALSO NEAR THE INTAKE. THE SENSOR THAT IS ATTACHED TO THE MASTER CYLINDER HAD FAILED, BRAKE FLUID WAS INSDE IT AND CAUSE THE CONNECTOR THAT LEADS TO THE FUSE BOX TO CATCH ON FIRE, WE WERE REPLACING THAT WHEN THE CONNECTOR FROM THE MASTER CYLINDER TO THE CRUISE CONTROL UNIT SMOKED, BUT DID NOT CATCH ON FIRE. THE SENSOR ON THE MASTER CYLINDER CAUGHT ON FIRE ON 05-27-05.
DROVE MY TRUCK TO WORK AND PARKED IT AROUND 8AM. AROUND 2-3 HOURS LATER SECRETARY NOTICED BLACK SMOKE AND WENT OUTSIDE TO CHECK. MY TRUCK HAD BURST INTO FLAMES. FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS ABLE TO PUT OUT THE FIRE SHORTLY BEFORE IT REACHED THE FUEL TANK. ENTIRE CAB OF TRUCK DESTROYED; ALL THAT IS LEFT IS THE BED AND HITCH. ADDITIONALLY, THE TRUCK PARKED NEXT TO MINE INCURRED DAMAGE INCLUDING MELTED TIRES, PASSENGER WINDOW IMPLODED AND PAINT BADLY DAMAGED. POSSIBLE OTHER CARS SUFFERED PAINT DAMAGE AS WELL. FIRE OFFICIALS SAID THEY THOUGHT FIRE WAS CAUSED BY CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH. NEVER RECEIVED ANY LETTERS FROM FORD REGARDING RECALL. PICTURES TAKEN BY INSURANCE COMPANY OF VEHICLE DAMAGE AND DAMAGE DONE TO OTHER VEHICLE AS WELL. *NM
VEHICLE PARKED FOR 45 MINUTES WAS ENGULFED IN FLAMES. *AK
60/40 BENCH SEAT BACK REST (DRIVERS SIDE) RECLINED AND WILL NOT LOCK BACK IN, IN UPRIGHT POSITION. HAS NOT BEEN FIXED YET. WAS TOLD THERE IS NO RECALL ON THIS SEAT. I HAVE A 1995 FORD F150 PICKUP TRUCK EXTENDED CAB MADE AT THE KANSAS CITY PLANT. THE RECALL DESCRIPTIONS OF THIS DEFECT FIT THIS TRUCK. *NM
DT: MY TRUCK JUST WENT UP IN FLAMES AND LITERALLY MELTED. CONSUMER PARKED IT SATURDAY NIGHT AND DROVE IT HOME THE NEXT DAY. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT STARTED KNOCKING ON DOOR TRYING TO WAKE CONSUMER UP BECAUSE THE TRUCK WAS ON FIRE. THE TRUCK WAS SITTING IN MY DRIVEWAY . *AK
DT: CONSUMER STATES HER THE CRUISE CONTROL DEACTIVATION SWITCH SHORTED OUT , AND CAUSED THE WIRES TO MELT INSIDE THE VEHICLE. A LOCAL SERVICE DEALER STATED IT WAS INSIDE THE CRUISE CONTROL DEACTIVATION SWITCH. THERE HAS BEEN A RECALL ON 2000 FORD F150'S, BUT THIS VEHICLE IS A 1995 MODEL EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEM AS THE 2000 MODELS. *TT *NM
DT: 1995 FORD F150, VEHICLE CAUGHT ON FIRE WHILE PARKED. FIRE STARTED IN THE MASTER CYLINDER, AND THE CONSUMER HAD NO PREVIOUS PROBLEM WITH THE VEHICLE. *AK

OWNER WAS SITTING INSIDE OF THE TRUCK. WHILE PARKED THE CONSUMER NOTICED SMOKE WAS COMING FROM THE HOOD. CRUISE CONTROL WAS HOOKED TO THE MASTER CYLINDER AND SOME PLASTIC PARTS MELTED ALONG WITH THE TOP WHICH CONTAINED THE FIRE. FLAME BEGAN SHOOTING UPWARD. OWNER PUT THE FIRE OUT WITH A FIRE EXTINGUISHER. CONSUMER WOULD LIKE TO E-MAIL PICTURE TO NHTSA/ODI.*AK *SB CONSUMER HAD PROBLEMS BEFORE WITH THE TRUCK LOCKING.*SB
VEHICLE HAD BEEN PARKED FOR A COUPLE OF HOURS IN THE DRIVEWAY WHEN CONSUMER HEARD SOMETHING. CONSUMER WENT TO THE DOOR AND DISCOVERED THAT VEHICLE WAS ON FIRE. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS CALLED AND PUT OUT THE FIRE. *AK
NOTICED OIL LEAKING FROM OIL PAN. INITIALLY THOUGHT THAT IT WAS THE OIL PLUG. WHILE CHANGING OIL DETECTED THAT THE OIL PAN WAS EXTREMELY RUSTED ON EXTERIOR SURFACE, AND OIL LEAKING FROM CORRODED SURFACE OF OIL PAN. OIL LEAK IS GETTING PROGRESSIVLY WORSE. CONCERNED TO DRIVE VEHICLE ON PUBLIC ROADS IN FEAR OF LOSING ALL OF THE OIL FROM ENGINE AND CAUSING DANGEROUS ROAD CONDITIONS AND SERIOUS DAMAGE TO ENGINE.*AK
TRIED TO USE CRUISE CONTROLIT DID NOT WORK WITHIN AN HOUR THE TRUCK WAS ON FIRE. *AK
DT: CALLER SAID HE HAS A VEHICLE THAT MAY CATCH ON FIRE BECAUSE OF THE CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH. CALLER SAYS THERE IS A RECALL ON THIS IN OTHER VEHICLES. RECALL # 05V017000. CALLER IS CONCERNED ABOUT THE SWITCH ON HIS TRUCK. MANUFACTURER SAID THEY ARE INVESTIGATING THE PROBLEM AND THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO ABOUT IT RIGHT NOW. *NM
VEHICLE WAS PARKED OUTSIDE. FIFTEENS MINUTES LATER,THE VEHICLE CAUGHT ON FIRE. THE DRIVER WAS ABLE TO EXTINGUISH THE FIRE, AND THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER. MECHANIC INFORMED THE DRIVER THAT A CAUSE COULD NOT BE DETERMINED AT THIS TIME.*AK
THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT HAD CAUGHT ON FIRE. THE SPEED CONTROL DEACTIVATION SWITCH FAILED, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO BURN. ALSO, IT BURNED ANOTHER VEHICLE WHICH WAS PARKED RIGHT NEXT TO IT. A NEIGHBOR CALLED THE FIRE DEPARTMENT. COMPLAINT REGARDING THE RECALL OF CRUISE CONTROL RELEASE SWITCHES ON THE BRAKING SYSTEM FOR VARIOUS 2000-2004 FORD MODEL VEHICLES.*MR DURING VEHICLE INSPECTION THE TECHNICIAN AND THE CONSUMER NOTICED THAT THE BRAKE FLUID RESERVOIR WAS LOW AND THE CRUISE CONTROL RELEASE SWITCH WAS COVERED WITH FLUID. A RECALL WAS ISSUED BUT THE CONSUMER WAS TOLD THAT HIS VEHICLE WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THE CURRENT RECALL. THE CONSUMER BELIEVES THE RECALL SHOULD BE EXPANDED. *NM
MY 1995 FORD F-150 SPONTANEOUSLY BURST INTO FLAMES AFTER BEING PARKED FOR 6 HOURS. A FIERY INFERNO TOTALED THE ENGINE AND CAB. NO SIGN OF PROBLEM IN VEHICLE PRIOR TO FIRE EXCEPT THAT THE CRUISE CONTROL STOPPED WORKING FOR ABOUT A WEEK AND THEN WORKED AGAIN.*AK
THE CONSUMER'S 1995 FORD F150 WAS PARKED FOR 3-4 HOURS WHEN IT CAUGHT ON FIRE UNDER THE HOOD. *NM THE MASTER CYLINDER WAS ON FIRE. THE SPEED CONTROL DID NOT WORK ALONG WITH THE ABS. *SC THE FIRE WAS POSSIBLY DUE TO A FAULTY CRUISE CONTROL DEACTIVATION SWITCH.
VEHICLE WAS PARKED INSIDE OF THE GARAGE AND IT CAUGHT ON FIRE. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS CALLED TO EXTINGUISH THE FIRE. NO INJURIES REPOTED. VEHICLE WAS TOWED AND TOTALED . *AK
WHILE WARMING THE VEHICLE, SMOKE CAME FROM UNDER THE DASH. THE CONSUMER TURNED IT OFF AND DISCONNECTED THE BATTERY, TO DISCOVER A LOT OF THE WIRES HAD BURNED. *JB
THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED OVERNIGHT AND THE CONSUMER WAS UNABLE TO START THE IGNITION. THE CONSUMER OPENED THE HOOD, AND SAW WIRES MELTED. THE DEALERSHIP WAS NOTIFIED, BUT DID NOT RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. *AK THE CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH CAUSED THE MELTING OF THE WIRING HARNESS AND THE BRAKE FLUID RESERVOIR. ALL OF THE BRAKE FLUID LEAKED ONTO THE ENGINE. THE WIRING HARNESS WAS BURNED COMPLETELY FROM THE ENGINE TO THE STEERING COLUMN. THE CONSUMER WAS AWARE THAT LATER MODEL FORD 150'S WERE EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEM. THERE WAS NO HORN OR CRUISE CONTROL AND THE AIR BAG LIGHT FLASHED. *SC
AT 6:30 ON SUNDAY MORNING A NEIGHBOR AWOKE US ABOUT OUR TRUCK BEING ON FIRE. SHE HAD ALREADY CALLED THE FIRE DEPT BUT I MADE AN UNSUCCESSFUL ATTEMPT WITH OUR WATER HOSE. THE TRUCK, WHICH WAS IN PRISTINE CONDITION, WAS A TOTAL LOSS. THE FIRE STARTED IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT ON THE DRIVERS SIDE, MELTED THE DASH AND WAS STARTING TO BURN INTO THE INTERIOR. THE NEIGHBOR STATED SHE HEARD ONE OR TWO 'POPS' PRIOR TO DISCOVERING THE FIRE. DRIVERS SIDE TIRE BURNED. A FEW MONTHS PRIOR TO THE FIRE THE CRUISE CONTROL QUIT WORKING. WE DID NOT HAVE COMPREHENSIVE INSURANCE ON IT SO IT WAS A TOTAL WRITE-OFF FOR US. I CANNOT HELP BUT BELIEVE THIS IS THE SAME PROBLEM FORD FINALLY ADMITTED TO FOR THE RECENT RECALL ON LATER MODEL TRUCKS. THE TRUCK HAD NOT BEEN DRIVEN FOR APPROXIMATELY 14 HOURS. I STILL HAVE POSSESSION OF THE TRUCK.*JB WILL E-MAIL PICTURES TO BRUCE YORK. THE CRUISE CONTROL FAILED IN AUGUST OF 2004. NO AFTERMARKET EQUIPMENT. THE FIRE DID NOT SPREAD TO A STRUCTURE.
THE TRUCK WAS SITTING IN THE GARAGE AT WORK WHEN SMOKE STARTED POURING OUT AROUND THE HOOD. I RAISED THE HOOD TO FIND THE SPEED DE-ACTIVATION SWITCH ON FIRE.I PUT OUT THE FIRE. AND PURCHASED A NEW SWITCH FROM 32 FORD IN BATAVIA OHIO, AND INSTALLED IT.32 FORD ADVISED ME TO CALL FORD AND MAKE THEM AWARE OF THE PROBLEM WITH THE OLDER TRUCKS , WHICH I DID TO NO AVAIL,AS THEY JUST PASSED ME BACK AND FORTH , AND NO ONE WOULD LISTEN TO WHAT I HAD TO SAY. ALL I WANT IS TO WARN THEM ABOUT THE PROBLEM IN THE OLDER MODEL TRUCKS. THEY HAVE FIRE HAZARD. WE WERE JUST LUCKY THAT WE WERE AT WORK WHEN IT HAPPENED OR IT WOULD HAVE BURNED OUR CO. VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN FRONT OF THE RESIDENT AND IT CAUGHT ON FIRE. DRIVER CALLED THE FIRE DEPARTMENT TO EXTINGUISH THE FIRE. *AK
OUR 1995 FORD F-150 BURST INTO FLAMES IN OUR GARAGE AFTER BEING PARKED AND NOT RUNNING FOR ONE HOUR. IT WAS FINE JUST TEN MINUTES BEFORE THE FIRE STARTED. THE FIRE IN THE GARAGE CAUGHT THE ENTIRE HOUSE ON FIRE - WE LOST EVERYTHING, ALTHOUGH NO PERSONAL INJURY. STATE FARM FORENSIC REPORT SHOWS ORIGIN TO BE DRIVER SIDE, ON THE ENGINE SIDE OF THE FIRE WALL, AND HAVING SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE BRAKE MECHANISM (I'M STILL WAITING FOR A COPY OF THE REPORT). CAN YOU COMPARE MY COMPLAINT TO OTHERS AND MAYBE TELL ME WHAT MIGHT HAVE STARTED THIS FIRE? WE HAVE SUFFERED A TERRIBLE LOSS, SO WE WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT STARTED THE FIRE IF POSSIBLE. A MALFUNCTIONING CHECK VALVE WITHIN THE FUEL PUMP ASSEMBLY CAUSES A PORTION OF THE UNUSED FUEL FROM ONE TANK TO BE RETURNED TO THE SECOND TANK. WHEN THIS OCCURS, THE CAPACITY OF THE SECOND TANK CAN BE EXCEEDED, CAUSING FUEL SPILLAGE. *JB

I CAME HOME FROM WORK AND PARKED MY 95 FORD F-150 XLT SUPER CAB TRUCK AT 5:45 P.M. FRIDAY EVENING . I DIDN;T DRIVE MY TRUCK THE REST OF THE WEEKEND I WAS AWAKENED SUNDAY MORNING AT AROUND 9:00 A.M.BY THE POSTAL WORKER DROPPING OFF MAIL FOR THE NEXT DAY. MY ENTIRE TRUCK WAS BURNT BY ELECTRICAL SHORT AS BY DESCRIBED BY FIRE MASHALL. *AK
CONSUMER PARKED THE VEHICLE, AND SMELLED PLASTIC BURNING. CONSUMER LIFTED THE HOOD, AND DISCOVERED A FIRE. CONSUMER NOTICED THE CRUISE CONTROL DISCONNECT SENSOR MELTED. CONSUMER PUT THE FIRE OUT. LATER CONSUMER REPLACED THE CRUISE CONTROL AND DISCONNECTED THE SENSOR HIMSELF.*AK *SB
MY F150 PICKUP HAS VIRTUALLY NO RUST BUT 2 DAYS AGO I WAS UNDERNEATH AND SAW RUST SPOTS ON THE ENGINE OIL PAN AND BIG BUBBLES UNDER THE PAINT SO I THOUGHT I WOULD SCRAPE THEM OFF AND RUSTPROOF BUT AS SOON AS I SCRAPED THE OIL POURED OUT AND WHEN I PUT PRESSURE ON THE RUST SPOTS (ABOUT 6 SQUARE INCHES)THEY WERE SOFT. IF THE OIL PAN WOULD HAVE FAILED AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS I THINK IT WOULD BE A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE. I AM HAVING THE PAN REPLACED OCT 11 AND WILL KEEP IT. *NM
I HAVE DRIVEN MY FORD F-150 HOME FROM WORK ON A FRIDAY IN OCT. 04 I WAS AWAKENED ON SUNDAY ABOUT 8:00 A.M BY THE MAILMAN DROPPING OFF MAIL FOR THE NEXT DAY HE SAID YOUR TRUCK IS ON FIRE. THERE WAS NO KEY IN THE IGNITION AND THE VEHICLE WAS NOT RUNNING. I HAVE A FIRE MARSHALL REPORT STATING THAT IT WAS AN ELECTRICAL FIRE. I HAVE CONTACTED FORD TWICE AND HAVE GOTTEN NOTHING BUT THE RUN AROUND. *JB
THE SPEED CONTROL FUNCTION HAD COME ON WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH. THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED TO 90 MPH. THE CONSUMER REPLACED MODULES F4TA-9C734-EP AND 5065F4TF9C735DC. THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED. *AK *SC
DURING LABOR DAY SEPT 2004, MY WIFE AND I WERE VACTIONING IN NORTHERN WISCONSIN. WE HAD JUST RETURNED FROM A SHORT ERRAND AND WAS SITTING AT OUR PICNIC TABLE, OUR TRUCK WAS PARKED AND TURNED OFF, MY WIFE NOTICED SMOKE BOILING FROM UNDER THE HOOD. I REMOVED THE WIRED RUNNING TO THE CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH AND IT STOPPED THE SWITCH FROM SMOKING. THE UNIT WAS MELTED BEYOND REPAIR AND RENDERED THE TRUCK UNABLE TO BE MOVED FROM THE PARKED POSITION. I WAS ABLE TO GET THE TRUCK GOING AGAIN BUT IT HAS NOT RUN CORRECTLY SINCE. HAD WE NOT BEEN SITTING RIGHT THERE NEXT TO THE TRUCK IT WOULD HAVE STARTED A FIRE. DOES FORD HAVE ANY INTENTIONS OF RECALLING THIS PROBLEM. I HAVE WATCHED A FEW NEWS REPORTS ON IT AND SEE THAT IT IS NOT A FLUKE OR ISOLATED INCIDENT.
I OWN A 1995 FORD F-150 WITH A ROTTED OUT OIL PAN . IT IS A COMMON PROBLEM AND FORD CHOOSES TO DO NOTHING ABOUT IT. THE MOISTURE GETS BETWEEN THE PAINT AND THE OIL PAN METAL AND STARTS TO ROT IT OUT WITHOUT YOU KNOWING ABOUT IT. NEXT THING YOU KNOW YOU HAVE OIL DRIPPING IN YOUR DRIVEWAY BECAUSE OF FORDS INABILITY TO REPAIR OR RECALL THIS PROBLEM. THESE IDIOTS WANT TO SELL YOU A VEHICLE AND DON'T CARE AFTER IT IS SOLD. THE PAINT THEY USED IN CERTAIN 1990'S MODELS WAS DEFECTIVE AND OR NOT DONE PROPERLY AND NEED TO BE RECALLED OR REPLACE THE OIL PAN WITH LIMITED COST!! TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR MISTAKE, DON'T LET THE CONSUMER HAVE TO DEAL WITH YOUR INCOMPATIBLE!!!!*JB
1995 FORD F-150 WITH 302 ENGINE THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKE LIGHT BEGAN FLASHING ON 7-09-04. ON 8-2-04 THE TRUCK CAUGHT ON FIRE IN FRONT OF MY OFFICE 3 HOURS AFTER IT WAS SHUT DOWN. A PASSERBY SHOUTED IN THE DOOR THAT MY TRUCK WAS SMOKING. WHEN I POPPED THE HOOD OPEN, THERE WERE FLAMES COMING FROM THE CONNECTOR IN FRONT OF THE BRAKE FLUID RESEVOIR. I PUT THE FIRE OUT WITH A FIRE EXTINGUISHER, BUT IT IMMEDIATELY STARTED AGAIN. I PULLED THE POSITIVE CABLE OFF THE BATTERY AND USED THE EXTINGUISHER AGAIN. THAT PUT THE FIRE OUT FOR GOOD. I HAD THE TRUCK TOWED TO CAPITAL FORD IN RALEIGH, NC. CAPITAL FORD REPLACED THE CRUISE DEACTIVATION SWITCH ON 8-9-04 ALONG WITH THE MASTER CYLINDER DAMAGED BY THE FIRE. TOTAL COST NOT INCLUDING TOW $ 489.62 UNFORTUNATELY I HAD THE DAMAGED PART DISCARDED. IT IS NOT AVAILABLE FOR INSPECTION.*AK
VEHICLE CAUGHT ON FIRE WHILE PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY. THE FIRE STARTED UNDER THE HOOD. TWO CITY WORKERS EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE. DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED.*AK
THE CONSUMER STATED THAT THE BRAKE LINES RUSTED. THIS DEFECT OCCURRED ON 3 SEPARATE OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY. THE CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER, WHO STATED THAT THE REPAIRS COULD BE DONE BUT ONLY AT CONSUMER'S EXPENSE. CURRENTLY, THERE WERE NO EOM BRAKE LINES AVAILABLE. ALSO, THE MASTER CYLINDER WAS DEFECTIVE. THE VEHICLE HAD LESS THAN 25,000 MILES, AND 3 BRAKE LINES WERE REPLACED 3 TIMES. *AK (DUAL MASTER CYLINDER FAILURE) THE CONSUMER LOST ALL BRAKES, FRONT AND REAR. THE WARNING LIGHT DID NOT ILLUMINATE. AT 22K MILES, THE REAR BRAKE LINE FAILED ALONG WITH THE MASTER CYLINDER AND THE LIGHT DID NOT ILLUMINATE. AT 25K MILES, THE OTHER FRONT BRAKE LINE FAILED ALONG WITH THE MASTER CYLINDER AND THE LIGHT DID NOT ILLUMINATE. *SC *JB
THE GAS TANK RUSTED AND LEAKED SEVERELY. THE CONSUMER CONTACTED. *AK *SC *JB
CONSUMER STATED HIS 1995 FORD F-150 TRUCK WAS TOTALLY TURNED OFF WHEN WHITE SMOKE STARTED COMING FORM THE FENDER WELL ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE. THIS HAPPENED OVER ONE YEAR AGO. THE GARAGE OWNER DISCONNECTED THE BATTERY TERMINAL AND THE FIRE WENT OUT. HE SAYS THE SENSOR FOR THE CRUISE CONTROL AND THE WIRE CAUGHT ON FIRE; LIKE ROADSIDE FLARE; THROWING OFF OF WHITE SMOKE; IT BURNED THE SIDE OF THE MASTER CYLINDER. IT MELTED THE CONNECTOR THAT PLUGS INTO THE SENSOR, AND IT MELTED THE TOP OF THE SENSOR. THE DEALER SAID THAT VEHICLE WAS PROBABLY NOT COVERED. THE CONSUMER SAYS ANYONE IS WELCOME TO LOOK AT THE VEHICLE IF NEEDED TO HELP DETERMINE THE PROBLEMS WITH THE CARS. *NM
VEHICLE WAS PARKED. ONE HOUR LATER THERE WAS SMOKE COMING FROM THE VEHICLE. SUDDENLY VEHICLE BURST IN TO FLAMES. CONSUMER CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER, AND WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO. *AK
AFTER BACKING OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY DRIVER'S SIDE SEAT FELL BACKWARDS ONTO THE REAR SEAT. A RECALL WAS ISSUED FOR THIS PROBLEM, BUT CONSUMER'S VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED DUE TO VIN. *AK
1995 FORD F-150 REAR LEAF SPRING SHACKLE BRACKET. THE BRACKET BOLTED TO THE TRUCK FRAME WHICH CONNECTS TO THE REAR OF THE LEAF SPRING RUSTED THIN THE BROKE FREE LEAVING THE REAR OF THE LEAF SPRING UNCONNECTED TO THE VEHICLE . *AK
VEHICLE HAD SAT FOR A WEEK, AND AT 5:00 PM STARTED AND IDLED FOR 5 MINUTES. AT 10:30 WENT TO BED. AT 1:30 AM WIFE SAW FIRE COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD. PRIOR TO THE FIRE NO PROBLEMS WITH THE VEHICLE. USED CRUISE CONTROL OCCASIONAL. WAS WORKING THE LAST TIME IT WAS USED ABOUT 8 DAYS BEFORE FIRE. TRAILER TOWING PACKAGE WAS THE ONLY AFTERMARKET EQUIPMENT. THE TRAILER PACKAGE WAS ADDED AROUND 1 YEAR BEFORE THE FIRE. THE FIRE DID NOT SPREAD TO THE HOUSE. HAS 35 MM PHOTOS OF VEHICLE. WILL SEND VIA MAIL TO BRUCE YORK. WAS INSURED LIABILITY ONLY.*AK *TC
I OWN A 1995 FORD F-150 4X4. I BOUGHT THE TRUCK IN DECEMBER OF 1998, AND IT HAD APPROXIMATELY 87,000 MILES ON IT. I STARTED HAVING TROUBLE WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL SHORTLY AFTER I BOUGHT THE TRUCK, BUT I ALSO HAD TROUBLE WITH THE SPEEDOMETER. I THOUGHT THAT THE CRUISE CONTROL WAS CAUSED BY THE SPEEDOMETER PROBLEM. I ALSO HAD TROUBLE WITH THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION, WHICH I CONTRIBUTED TO THE SPEEDOMETER FLUCTUATION. SINCE THEN, I HAVE HAD THE REAREND REBUILT, AND HAVE REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION. I STILL EXPERIENCE PROBLEMS WITH THE TRANSMISSION, AND THE CRUISE CONTROL. I HAVE NEVER HAD A FIRE IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT, BUT I AM WONDERING IF THE RECENT INFORMATION ABOUT A SHORT IN THE CRUISE CONTROL COULD BE CAUSING THE TROUBLE. ALL WORK HAS BEEN DONE BY A REPUTABLE FORD GARAGE, AND THEY HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO FIND THE REASON FOR THE CONTINUED PROBLEMS.
