OIL PAN RUSTED OUT AND STARTED LEAKING. I CAUGHT IT BEFORE ALL OIL LOST ON ROAD AND AVOIDED AN ACCIDENT. I HEARD ABOUT THE PROBLEM THROUGH A FRIEND THAT LOST ALL HIS OIL AND SEIZED ENGINE. THIS TRUCK IS OTHERWISE IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. IT HAS NEVER PLOWED SNOW. IT VIRTUALLY HAS NO OTHER RUST. OIL PANS SHOULD NOT RUST OUT. IF OIL IS LOST AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, A SERIOUS ACCIDENT COULD OCCUR.
ORIGINAL BRAKES ON VEHICLE FAILED TO WORK AFTER BEING APPLIED. BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR WITHOUT WARNING. OWNER CHECKED BRAKES, AND NOTICED BRAKE PAD LINING HAD SEPARATED FROM METAL BACKING PLATE & HAD FALLEN OFF. BRAKE PADS STILL HAD 1/4IN OF PAD LEFT ON EACH BRAKE. BRAKE PISTON WENT OUT DUE TO NOTHING TO PUSH AGAINST. ABS BRAKES ARE ON THE REAR BRAKES. *AK ALL FOUR FRONT BRAKE PADS WERE REPLACED. UPON REMOVING THE RIGHT SIDE CALIPER, THE BRAKE LINING FELL OFF TOO. *YH
WHILE VEHICLE WAS PARKED IT CAUGHT FIRE AND BURNED TOTALLY. FIRE MARSHAL SAID IT WAS CAUSED BY FUEL LINE, NO WARNING SIGNS AT ALL.*AK

WHILE DRIVING CONSUMER NOTICED TRUCK SHUDDERING TO THE POINT WHERE CONSUMER ALMOST LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE, UPON INSPECTING THE VEHICLE THE CONSUMER FOUND THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE TIRE WAS BLISTERING WITH THE TREAD SEPARATING FROM THE TIRE (FIRESTONE FIREHAWK ATX SIZE 31X10.50 R15LT M/S). NLM
THERE ARE EXTRA HOLES IN THE BACK OF STEERING WHEEL, AND KEYS GOT STUCK INSIDE, CONSUMER ALMOST HAD AN ACCIDENT. DEALERSHIP IS AWARE OF PROBLEM. *AK
WHILE DRIVING IN HEAVY RAIN THE RIGHT REAR TIRE WENT FLAT DUE TO TREAD SEPARATION (FIRESTONE WILDERNESS AT P265/75R15 1125 M/S). NLM
TIRE LITTERALLY EXPLODED UNEXPECTEDLY @ ~ 70MPH ON A VERY HOT DAY. BARELY HAD TIME TO STOP & PULL OVER BEFORE RUINING THE MAG WHEEL ALSO. THERE WAS NOTHING LEFT OF THE TIRE OTHER THAN STEEL CORDS WHICH SLAPPED/DAMAGED AROUND WHEEL WELL. REPLACED BOTH REAR TIRES TO HAVE EVEN TREAD WEAR. STILL HAVE SPARE(USED ONCE) THAT IS SAME AS TIRE THAT BLEW. ALTHOUGH THIS TIRE IS PRESENTLY NOT RECALLED, WANTED TO REPORT SUCH SO THAT I MIGHT BE ELIGIBLE IF IT IS RECALLED LATER. THIS EXPERIENCE SEEMED ALL TOO SIMILAR TO THAT OF REPORTS READ IN REGARDS TO TIRES THAT WERE RECALLED SHORTLY AFTER HAVING REPLACED TWO TIRES. FUEL IS LEAKING FROM REAR TANK DUE TO RUST. DEALER HAS BEEN NOTIFIED.*AK
THIS TRUCK IS ONLY 5 YEARS OLD AND THE FUEL TANKS ARE LEAKING ALREADY. WHEN I TALKED TO THE DEALER HE TOLD ME TO BLAME NY STATE DOT USING SALT ON THE ROADS.
DUAL FUEL TANK SYSTEM DOES NOT OPERATE PROPERLY. FUEL FROM REAR TANK WILL BE FORCED INTO FRONT TANK, CAUSING EXCESS FUEL TO LEAK ONTO GROUND. DEALERSHIP HAS NOT EXAMINED VEHICLE. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY ADDITIONAL INFORMATION/ATTACHMENTS.*AK

CORROSION ON OIL PAN, RESULTING WITH PIN HOLE. *AK
THIS TIRE WAS ROTATED FROM LEFT FRONT TO LEFT REAR TWO WEEKS PRIOR TO TREAD SEPARATION. WHEN DRIVING AT LOW SPEED (15-25 MPH) ON THE DAY OF INCIDENT WE COULD FEEL A WOBBLE IN THE VEHICLE BUT DID NOT CONNECT IT TO ANY TIRE PROBLEMS. AFTER DRIVING 150 MILES OF A 600 MILE TRIP A LOUD POP WAS HEARD WE DETERMINED THAT THE TIRE HAD BLOWN. MY PREGNANT WIFE APPLIED THE BRAKES AND PULLED THE VEHILCLE OFF THE ROAD ONTO THE RIGHT HAND SHOULDER OF I-35 JUST SOUTH OF DALLAS. THE TREAD HAD SEPARATED AND DID DAMAGE TO THE LEFT REAR QUARTER PANEL, AND FUEL FILLER NECK OF THE REAR TANK. I TOOK VIDEO TAPE (AVAILABLE TO YOU) OF THE INCIDENT. WE REPLACED THE BLOWN TIRE WITH THE SPARE, CONTINUED TO LITTLE ROCK, AR WHERE WE PURCHASED AN IDENTICAL TIRE AND REPLACE IT IN THE LEFT REAR POSITION. UNITED SERVICES AUTOMOBILE ASSOCIATION (USAA) PAID FOR A CLAIM THAT WE SUBMITTED. WE EXPERIENCED A SIDE WALL FAILURE ON THE RIGHT FRONT ONE YEAR EARLIER ON MEMORIAL DAY TRAVELING FROM OKLAHOMA TO ARKANSAS.*AK (TIRESIZE: 235/75R15)( DOT NUMBER: TIRE SIZE: 235/75R15 )

I WAS FILLING A FIVE GALLON METAL GASOLINE CAN WHILE IT WAS SETTING IN THE BED OF THE TRUCK ON THE PLASTIC BEDLINER. WHEN I STARTED TO REMOVE THE PUMP NOZZLE FROM THE CAN A STATIC ELECTRICITY SPARK IGNITED THE CAN. I WAS BURNED ON FACE, HANDS AND ARMS. I HAD SECOND DEGREE BURNS ON HANDS AND ARMS. THE TRUCK WAS TOTALED AS WELL. I PURCHASED ANOTHER 1995 FORD F-150 TO REPLACE IT. THE DEALER, AL WHITE FORD, PLACED A STICKER IN THE REAR WINDOW WARNING OF THIS HAZARD. THE DEALER SAID THIS IS THE RESULT OF INSTRUCTIONS FROM FORD. IT IS GRATIFYING THAT EDUCATION EFFORTS HAVE BEEN IMPLIMENTED. *AK

I'M REPORTING THIS BECAUSE I ALSO HAD A PROBLEM WITH FIRESTONE TIRES. WE WERE ON VACATION LAST APRIL WHEN THE TRUCK STARTED SHUTTERING. I STOPPED AND COULD SEE THE TIRES MISSHAPED: THE BELTS HAD COME APART ON TWO OF THE 4 TIRES. I HAD THEM REPLACED ON THE NEXT EXIT (WALMART) AND BEFORE THE END OF THE MONTH I HAD TO REPLACE A THIRD. LAST WEEK I REPLACED THE LAST ONE, WHICH I STILL HAVE.*AK( DOT NUMBER: )
I OWN A 95 FORD F150, THE FRAME OF THE DOOR IN WHICH THE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE ASSEMBLY IS MOUNTED TO IS TORN. THE TEARS ARE IN THE DOOR WHERE THE ASSEMBLY HAS A TAB THAT SLIDES INTO THE DOOR AND WHERE THE ASSEMBLY BOLTS TO THE DOOR. THIS GIVES TOO MUCH AND DOES NOT ALLOW THE DRIVER TO OPEN THE VEHICLE FROM THE INTERIOR OF THE VEHICLE. THIS CAN CREATE A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION IN TRYING TO EVACUATE THE VEHICLE IN CASE OF FIRE OR EMINENT DANGER. I CONTACTED THE LOCAL FORD DEALER WHO WERE VERY FAMILIAR WITH THIS PROBLEM AND WAS TOLD FOR $80 AND TWO WEEKS OF WAIT THEY COULD WELD THE TORN AREAS. I THEN CONTACTED FORD MOTOR COMPANY AND WAS TOLD MY VEHICLE IS NOT UNDER WARRANTY AND THIS WAS NOT AN ITEM THAT WAS RECALLED. A SOLUTION TO THIS WOULD BE TO HAVE AN ACTUAL CROSS BRACE TO BOLT THE ASSEMBLY TO AND NOT THE THIN SHEET METAL BODY OF THE DOOR, THICKER METAL ON THE SKIN OF THE DOOR, OR A WAY TO DISTRIBUTE THE STRESS MORE EVENLY.*AK
FRONT ROTORS /CASTING DEFECTS/VOIDS/AIR POCKETS/. *AK
THIS PROBLEM WAS WORKED ON TWICE IN 1996, TWICE IN 1997, ONCE IN 1998, AND ONCE IN 2000. VEHICLE IS OUT OF WARRANTY AND FORD MOTOR COMPANY REFUSES TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS. I HAVE A FAMILY AND CONSIDER THIS A SAFETY HAZARD TO THEM AND ME. WE HAVE ALREADY FOUGHT FORD UNDER THE LEMON LAW FOR ANOTHER FORD VEHICLE IN 1993. *AK
NOTICED WHEN DOING OIL CHANGES THATENGINE OIL PAN CORRODED WHICH WAS CAUSED BY THE UNDERCOATING BUBBLES CORRODING THE STEEL UNDERNEATH, EVENTUALLY PUTTING A HOLE IN THE OIL PAN. THIS CAUSED OIL TO LEAK OUT. CONTACTED THE DEALER WHO SAID THIS WAS A COMMON PROBLEM. *AK
REAR FUEL TANK WAS LEAKING. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DEALER AND WAS REQUESTED TO BE REPAIRED UNDER EXTENDED WARRANTY. REP FOR WARRANTY WAS CALLED IN AND INSPECTED FUEL TANK. REP SAID IT WAS NOT COVERED BECAUSE TANK HAD RUSTED. I QUESTED SERVICE MANAGER AS TO WHY A STAINLESS STEEL FUEL TANK WOULD RUST OUT IN FOUR YEARS AND ONLY 52360 MILES AS I HAVE DRIVEN VEHICLES 200,000 MILES AND HAVE NEVER HAD A RUSTED TANK. IT WAS EXPLAINED TO ME THAT THERE WAS A PROTECTIVE MATTING ON THE TANK TO PROTECT FROM VIBRATION AND ABRATION. THE PROBLEM WITH THE MATTING WAS THAT IT WOULD COLLECT MOISTURE AND DUE TO ITS LOCATION, DOES NOT HAVE A CHANCE TO DRY OUT COMPLETELY. THE SERVICE MANAGER SAID THEY HAVE HAD SOME PROBLEMS WITH THIS, BUT NOT MANY. HE DI WHEN THIS HAPPENED, I HAVE SINCE TALKED WITH SEVERAL PEOPLE WHO ARE FAMILIAR WITH. THIS APPEARS TO ME TO BE A DESIGN PROBLEM OF WHICH FORD DOES NOT WANT TO RECOGNIZE OR CHANGE. IS THIS BECAUSE OF THEIR PAST PROBLEMS WITH TANK EXPLOSIONS? IT MAY NOT BE, BUT IT SEEMS TO BE A PROBLEM THAT COULD BE EASILY TAKEN CARE OF. IF NOT, THEY ARE LOOKING FOR ANOTHER POTENTIAL SAFTEY HAZARD. OR MAYBE THEY JUST WANT TO TAKE A CHANCE AND KEEP SELLING $500.00 REPLACEMENT TANKS EVERY FOUR OR FIVE YEARS. I HAVE EVERY PACKAGE YOU CAN BUY ON THIS TRUCK, INCLUDING RUST PROOF AND UNDER COATING. I APPRECIATE ANY HELP OR THOUGHTS OR INFORMATION TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC THAT YOU MIGHT PROVIDE ON THIS DANGEROUS PROBLEM. *AK
FRONT WHEEL HUB FELL 0FF, CAUSING VEHICLE TO GO TO THE RIGHT. THIS MAY CAUSE THE DRIVER TO LOSE CONTROL OF VEHICLE. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER INFORMATION. *AK FRONT LEFT LOCKOUT WOULD NOT ENGAGE CAUSING TRUCK TO PULL TO THE RIGHT. BOTH LOCKOUTS ARE DEFECTIVE.
WHILE CHANGING GEARS AT 25MPH THE CLUTCH STUCK, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO GO INTO NEUTRAL AND NOT SHIFTING INTO GEAR. DEALER AND MANUFACTURER HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED. *AK
TRUCK HAS DUAL FUEL TANKS. FUEL TANK WOULD LEAK. ALSO, WHILE PERFORMING AN OIL CHANGE NOTICED THAT ENGINE OIL PAN HAD CORRODED. *AK
DRIVER WAS UNABLE TO DISENGAGE CLUTCH AND VEHICLE LURCHED FORWARD. CLUTCH HAS BEEN REPLACED SEVERAL TIMES, AND PROBLEM REOCCURS. *AK
DRIVING I-10 TRUCK VIBRATED REAL QUICK &REAL BAD SWERVED& TREAD CAME OFF TIRE BEAT UP THE FRONT &BACK OF BACK FENDER WELL. *AK( DOT NUMBER: TIRE SIZE: P235/75R15 )
FIRESTONE ATX 23575R15 TIRE EXPERIENCED A BLOWOUT, WHICH CAUSED A CRASH, CONSUMER REPLACED ALL 4 TIRES BEFORE RECALL (00T-005) WAS ANNOUNCED, CONSUMER IS SEEKING REIMBURSMENT. *CJ
DURING ROUTINE OIL CHANGE, LARGE RUST BLISTERS DETECTED ON OIL PAN. *AK
GASOLINE IS STEADILY DRIPPING FROM THE FRONT OF THE FRONT FUEL TANK. INSPECTION REVEALS THAT THE GASOLINE IS LEAKING FROM THE FRONT SEAM OF THE TANK, THE TANK HAS NOT BEEN PUNCTURED OR SUBJECT TO ANY ABUSIVE TREATMENT. THE DEALER AND FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE HAVE BEEN CONTACTED. FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE SAYS THAT THE TRUCK IS OUT OF WARRANTY. THE LEAKING TANK PROBLEM IS NOT COVERED BY ANY RECALLS AT THIS TIME. A FUEL TANK SHOULD BE ROBUST IN DESIGN TO LAST THE LIFE OF THE VEHICLE IN NORMAL SERVICE WITHOUT LEAKING FUEL. THE LEAKING GASOLINE TANK IS A FIRE AND EXPLOSION HAZZARD. IT IS UNFORGIVABLE THAT FORD WILL NOT REPAIR THIS OBVIOUS DEFECT AND THE POTENTIAL SAFETY PROBLEM OF GASOLINE LEAKING.
WHILE DRIVING IN THE FOUR WHEEL DRIVE MODE, WHEEL HUBS LOCKED IN, CAUSING A LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL. DEALER HAS VERBALLY BEEN NOTIFIED. *AK
VEHICLE LOST OIL PRESSURE AS I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY . WHEN I NOTICED THE FAILURE ON MY PRESSURE GAGE I PULLED OFF THE ROAD AND THE ENGINE WAS MAKING A TERRIBLE NOISE. WE THEN HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO A GARAGE TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT, THE MACHANIC SAID THAT HE THOUGHT THAT I MIGHT HAVE SPUN A BERRING ON THE CRANK. EVERY MECHANIC THAT I HAVE TALKED TO { 5 INCLUDING THIS ONE!! } SAID THAT THIS TRUCKS OIL PUMP SHOULD HAVE NEVER GONE OUT AT ONLY 100,000 MILES. HAS THIS EVER HAPPENED BEFORE? IS THERE ANYTHING I CAN DO SHORT OF REPLACING MY ENGINE AT THE COST OF $2500.00 ? ANY HELP OR INFORMATION WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR HELP AND COOPERATION.. HARD TO SHIFT FROM 1ST TO 2ND OR TO ENGAGE INTO 1ST FROM NEUTRAL. *AK
SEAT LATCH BOLT FAILED CAUSING THE SEAT BACK TO COLLAPSE WHILE DRIVING, RECALL ON OTHER F150 MODELS, HOWEVER VEHICLE DENIED DUE TO VIN #. MJS
NOTICED REAR BUMPER ON TRUCK WAS BENT AND HAD A SMALL DENT. HIT WHILE PARKED. NO OTHER VISIBLE DAMAGE. SUBSEQUENTLY BEGAN SMELLING GASOLINE. SMALL SPOT IN DRIVEWAY; SUBSEQUENTLY SAW SLOW DRIP FROM THE REAR TANK AREA ONTO EXHAUST PIPE. UPON REMOVAL OF REAR TANK BY DEALER, DIME-SIZE RUST HOLE FOUND TOWARDS REAR OF TANK UNDERNEATH MOUNTING STRAP. FORD TAKES POSITION THAT THE HOLE WAS CAUSED BY RUST AND IS "NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR" AND NOT COVERED UNDER ANY TYPE OF WARRANTY OR RECALL. REST OF TANK LOOKS FINE EXCEPT FOR DIME SIZE RUST HOLE THAT FORMED UNDER THE REAR END OF MOUNTING STRAP. HOLE IS IN THINNER, REAR PART OF THE TANK, WHICH IS THE FIRST PART OF TANK THAT'S EMPTIED. ALSO APPEARS TO BE RUSTED FROM THE OUTSIDE IN, NOT FROM THE INSIDE OUT. I RETAINED THE FAULTY TANK. FORD DENIES MANUFACTURER'S DEFECT. NATIONWIDE INSURANCE APPRAISER SURMISES HOLE WAS PROBABLY CAUSED BY EITHER A MANUFACTURER'S DEFECT IN THE TANK OR BY AN INSTALLATION DEFECT, BUT IT WAS NOT CAUSED BY A MILD COLLISION TO THE REAR BUMPER.
AT TIMES, IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO SHIFT TO 1ST,2ND, 3RD, OR 4TH GEARS AFTER THE VEHICLE IS STOPPED. THIS IS AN INTERMITENT PROBLEM THAT SEEMS TO BE GETTING WORSE VERY QUICKLY. I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE NEW AND WITHIN A FEW MONTHS HAD TO TAKE IT BACK FOR THIS EXACT PROBLEM. I WAS TOLD THAT THE SYNCHRONOUS MECHANISM WAS REPLACED; HOWEVER, THE PROBLEM NEVER WENT AWAY. I TOOK IT BACK AFTER A FEW WEEKS OF THE ORIGINAL REPAIR BECAUSE THERE STILL EXISTED THE SAME PROBLEM. THE TECHNICIAN I SPOKE TO SAID THAT THIS WOULD GO AWAY ONCE THE GEARS WORE A LITTLE. THIS HAS NEVER HAPPENED. AND HERE WE ARE. *AK
DRIVER'S SEAT BACK FELL TO FULL RECLINING POSITION WITHOUT WARNING WHILE DRIVING (60 MPH) ON A 4-LANE HIGHWAY. THERE WAS A LOSS OF CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE DURING WHICH THE VEHICLE LEFT THE ROAD AND SLID FOR SOME DISTANCE BEFORE CONTROL WAS REGAINED. FORT
ENGINE OIL PAN HAS RUSTED THROUGH, CAUSING A HOLE, AND RESULTING IN OIL LEAKAGE FROM ENGINE. DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WILL BE NOTIFIED. *AK
DUAL FUEL TANKS-WHEN FULL BACK TANK OVERFLOWS TO FRONT ONE CAUSING SPILLAGE OUTSIDE OF THE TANK. *AK
THE DATES & MILEAGE I FILLED IN IS THE LATEST OF THE 3 FAILURES OF THE TRANSMISION.
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED FRONT AND BACK RIGHT SIDE TIRE BLOWOUTS WHICH RESULTED IN LOSS OF CONTROL AND VEHICLE ROLLOVER, ONE DEATH AND ONE INJURY AS A RESULT OF ACCIDENT. *MJS
THE OIL PAN HAS SUSTAINED SIGNIFICANT RUST AND HAS STARTED LEAKING MOTER OIL. THE FAILURE SEEMS PREMATURE GIVEN THAT THE VEHICLE IS ONLY 4.5 YEARS OLD. SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS OF OIL ARE LEAKING TO THE UNDERSIDE OF THE TRUCK INCLUDING EXHUST AND BRAKING SYSTEMS. MOTOR OIL IS ALSO LEAKING ONTO THE RAODWAY. *AK
ORIGINAL STARTER FAILED 4/29/97 AND REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY...2 STARTER'S FOR A 4 YEAR OLD VEHICLE DOES NOT SEEM RIGHT!!!
