THE REAR AXLE BROKE, CAUSING A VEHICLE ACCIDENT. CAUSE UNKNOWN. DEALER CANNOT DETERMINE PROBLEM. *AK
CONSUMER WAS INVOLVED IN A 50 MPH FRONTAL COLLISION IN WHICH THE DRIVER'S AND PASSENGER'S AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. ALSO, THE WHEEL SEPARATED FROM THE HUB, CAUSE UNKNOWN . *AK
RECALL 98V095000. RECALL NOTICE WAS RECEIVED AND DEALER WAS CONTACTED, AND CANNOT REMEDY THE PROBLEM BECAUSE THE REPLACEMENT PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE, PROBLEM STILL EXISTS. *AK
ENGINE HAS EXPEREINCED A CLATTER ON STARTUP FOR SOME TIME. WAS TAKEN TO DEALER UNDER WARRNATY ONE YEAR AGO @ 27000 MILES. TOLD THIS NOISE WAS "NORMAL". NOISE HAS INCREASED. NOW DEALER REPORTS IT IS "A MAJOR LOWER -END PROBLEM. FORD WON'T DO ANYTHING BECAUSE VEHICLE IS OUT OF BASIC WARRANTY. I SAY 1) NOTHING WAS DONE WHEN IT WSAS UNDER WARRANTY. WORK SHOULD HAVE BEEN CORRECTLY DIAGNOSED AND FIXED THEN 2) THE PROBLEM I AM EXPERIENCING IS THE RESULT OF A MANUFACTURING DEFECT. FORD ACKNOWLEDGES THAT THIS PROBLEM SHOUDL NOT SHOW UP AT THIS LOW A MILEAGE. THEY AMDE AN DEFECTIVE PRODUCT--THEY SHOUDL FIX IT!
GROOVES WORN INTO SPARE TIRE SIDEWALL DUE TO RUBBING AGAINS FRAME BENEATH TRUCK BED. TIRE HAS NEVER BEEN USED AND NOW MAY BE UNSAFE SINCE THE GROOVES ARE 15-20% INTO THE SIDEWALL. FORD DEALER REFERRED ME TO THE MANUFACTURER WHO DENIED ANY PROBLEM.
THE METAL ON THE OUTSIDE OF 2 FRONT DOORS IS CRACKING NEAR THE BOTTOM BACK CORNER OF THE WINDOW. THE DEALER IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. DEALER STATED THAT THE PROBLEM COULD NOT BE CORRECTED UNDER WARRANTY. *AK
CONSUMER EXPERIENCING ONGOING PROBLEM WITH DEALER NOT HONORING MFR. RECALL NOTICE CONCERNING LUGS: NUTS, MAY NOT CREATE SUFFICIENT CLAMP LOAD, ALLOWING WHEEL MOVEMENT IN RELATION TO MOUNTING SURFACE/ POTENTIAL WHEEL SEPARATION. *AK
THE VEHICLE WAS OVERHEATING AND THE MECHANIC DETERMINED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD A COOLANT LEAK. THE PIPE WHICH LEAD TO THE RADIATOR RUSTED AND CAUSED THE COOLANT TO LEAK. THE VEHICLE OVERHEATED INTERMITTENTLY SINCE 1998. *NLM *CB
CONSUMER RECEIVED A RECALL LETTER FROM FORD DEALER, SAYING TO BRING IN VEHICLE IN FOR PARTS TO BE REPLACED RECALL #98S14. WHEN CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE IN THE PARTS WERE NOT AVALIBLE. *AK
CRACK IN THE RUBBER MOLDING ON DOORS OF VEHICLE.
EXPOSED SEAT TRACK INJURED CHILD TOO SHARP.
FAULTY MANUFACTURING OF WHEELS CAUSED FOUR LUG NUT ON ONE OF THE FRONT WHEELS TO SHEAR OFF, RENDERING THE VEHICLE UNDRIVABLE.
VEHICLE WAS IN 28 OR 29 MPH FRONTAL COLLISION AND NEITHER DRIVER'S NOR PASSENGER'S SIDE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. PASSENGER WAS INJURED. FORD DEALER HAS SEEN AND REPAIRED. *AK
RECEIVED RECALL NOTICE (#98V095000). NOTIFIED DEALER & THEN TOOK VEHICLE IN ON DATE. MECHANIC NEVER CHECKED LUGS: NUTS. HAD THEM TIGHTENED INSTEAD. OLD LUGS: NUTS RUINED RIMS. MECHANIC SAID NO PARTS AVAILABLE. *AK

RECALL # 98VV09500, WHEEL LUGS: NUTS: BOLTS.; RECALL HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED ON THIS VEHICLE WHICH MAY CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. THE OCCUPANT WAS TRYING FOR ABOUT 4 MONTHS TO HAVE VEHICLE REPAIRED. DEALER CLAIMS IT STILL ON NATIONAL BACK ORDER. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER DETAILS. *AK
RECALL 98S14, LUGS:NUTS:BOLTS; RECALL NOTICE WAS RECEIVED IN JUNE, 1998. CONTACTED THE DEALER APPROXIMATELY SIX TIMES, AND DEALER DID NOT HAVE THE REPLACEMENT PARTS TO REMEDY THE PROBLEM. CONSUMER CONTINUES TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE. *AK

DRIVER'S SIDE FLOOR MAT BUNCHES UP 3/4 FROM TOP OF MAT UNDER BRAKE AND GAS PEDAL WHICH MAKES HARD FOR PEDALS TO OPERATE PROPERLY. DEALER CONTACTED AND CANNOT REMEDY THE PROBLEM. PROBLEM STILL EXISTS. *AK *ML

WATER POURS IN THROUGH REAR WINDOW WHEN IT RAINS; DEALER RESEALED WINDOW BUT IT STILL LEAKS; DEALER REPLACED WINDOW WITH A NEW DESIGN TO FIX PROBLEM; DEALER CHARGED ME $350.00; SHOULD I HAVE TO PAY FOR A DESIGN FLAW?
PE00 020; COMNSUMER WAS TRAVELING ABOUT55MPH ON HIGHWAY AND HEARD A LOUD POPPING NOISE. HE WAS IN CONTROL OF VEHICLE, AND WAS ABLE TO GO ON SHOULDERS OF ROAD. RIGHT REAR TIRE TREAD SEPARATED FROM TIRE. FIRESTONE WILDERNESS AT P25570R16. THIS IS THE THIRD TIME THE TIRES HAD BLOWN OUT. THERE WERE KNOTS ON THE SIDE OF THE TIRES. FORD AND FIRESTONE WERE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM.*AK
WHILE DRIVING THE TRUCK AT 68 MPH, THE RIGHT FRONT TIRE ON THE PASSENGER'S SIDE SEPARATED FROM THE AXLE. DRIVER LOST CONTROL OF THE TRUCK AND CRASHED INTO THE SIDE OF A TRACKER TRAILER. THE DEALER/MANUFACTURER HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED ABOUT THE PROLBEM. THE TRUCK HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. *AK
DOORS HAVE FRACTURES IN DOOR FRAMES ABOVE&BEHIND DOOR HANDLES , UNDER THE THICKER WEATHER STRIPPING OF THE SIDE WINDOWS. THEY ARE STRESS FRACTURES THAT MAT HAVE COME FROM THE OPERATING OF THE GLASS GOING UP & DOWN. ANYWAY THIS IS A PROBLEM FOR SAFETY & METAL STRESS FAILURE THE METAL WILL COME APART IN A CRASH IN THE DOOR AREA. DESIGN FLAW AT BEST IS WHAT I SEE HERE, WHICH BE LOOKED INTO BY SOMEONE. WHILE DRIVING THE RIGHT FRONT TIRE CAME OFF, CAUSE UNKNOWN. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY DETAILS. *AK
DUE TO FAILURE OF THE LUG NUTS (RECALL COMPONENT) WHEEL FELL OFF OF VEHICLE, WHEEL HIT ANOTHER VEHICLE IN THE WINDSHIELD CAUSING DAMAGE. NO NOTICE OF RECALL WAS RECEIVED BY CONSUMER.(COMPLAINT SENT IN BY OWNER OF OTHER VEHICLE).

WHILE DECELERATING ENGINE RACE UP TO 5 TO 6 RPM, CAUSING REAR TIRE TO SMOKE .THE ONLY WAY TO STOP VEHICLE FROM GOING THROUGH THE INTERSECTION IS TO TURN THE IGINITION KEY OFF. *AK
WHILE DRIVING ON TWO OCCASIONS THE TREAD SEPARATED FROM THE TIRE RESULTING IN THE HANDLING OF THE VEHICLE BECOMING DIFFICULT (FIRESTONE WILDERNESS HT P235-70R16 1045). NLM

PE00 020; CONSUMER WAS TRAVELING ABOUT 35MPH ON A SIDE ROAD AND HEARD A BANGING NOISE. RIGHT REAR TIRE TREAD SEPARATED. CONSUMER NOTIFIED FIRESTONE.THERE WERE NO INJURIES. TIRE SIZE P235/70R16 AND DOT # W208-IPT. *AK THE SECOND TIRE TREAD ALSO SEPARATED AND WAS REPLACED BY THE CUSTOMER. THE TIRES WERE FIRESTONE WILDERNESS. *YH
THE REAR WINDOW FRAME KEEPS CRACKING AND CAUSING IT TO LEAK WATER INSIDE THE CAB. I HAD IT FIXED 3 DIFFERENT TIMES UNDER WARRANTY THEN IT HAPPENED AGAIN AND TIPTON WOULDN'T HELP ME ANYMORE SO I CALLED FORD IN DETROIT AND THEY SAID THE DEALER SAID I WAS ABUSING MY FORD AND THAT IS A FALSE STATEMENT I EVEN OFFERED TO SEND THEM PICTURES OF MY TRUCK AND IT IS IN GREAT SHAPE AND ONLY 65,000 MILES IT IS UNFOUNDED IF THEY JUST WOULD LOOK AT MY TRUCK 'NOT TAKEING THE DEALERS WORD BECAUSE WHY WOULD IT BE ABUSE ONLY AFTER THE WARRANTY RAN OUT . THE DEALER NEVER FIXED THE PROBLEM AND IF I HAVE TO GO THROUGH LEGAL MANNERS I GUESS I WILL HAVE TO. *AK
CONSUMER REPLACED ORIGINAL FIRESTONE TIRES DUE TO SPLITTING, CONSUMER REQUESTING REIMBURSEMENT. *MJS
DRIVING ALONG HIGHWAY PULLED OFF ROAD AS TIRE BLEW. TREAD WAS SEPERATED FROM TIRE AND WE WERE VERY LUCKY TO HAVE BEEN ABLE TO CONTROL VEHICLE OUR SPEED AT THE TIME WAS 35 MILES PER HOUR WHEN THIS OCCURED. WENT TO FIRESTONE STORE IN FALMOUTH AND PAID FULL PRICE FOR A NEW TIRE. CONTACTED FIRESTONE DIRECT AND WAS REIMBURSED FOR ONLY 1/2 THE TIRE. I FEEL WE SHOULD RECEIVEW THE OTHER HALF OF THE REIMBURSEMEHNT. WE TRADED THE TRUCK IN 1999. I SURE HOPE YOU PEOPLE WILL REIMBURSE THE REMAINDER TO US. THANK YOU( DOT NUMBER: TIRE SIZE: 235-35-16 )
WHILE DRIVING 15 MPH AND ANOTHER VEHICLE TRAVELING ABOUT 35 MPH HAD A FRONTAL IMPACT, AND BOTH AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. ALSO THE PASSENGER'S SEAT BELT BUCKLE UNLATCHED AT THE TIME OF THE ACCIDENT WHICH DID NOT PROTECT THE OCCUPANT IN THE ACCIDENT. *AK
CONSUMER WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65MPH WHEN HE SMELLED A BURNING SCENT. THEN HEARD A BANG AND RAN OVER THE OBJECT. THE OBJECT THAT FELL OFF WAS A WHEEL WELL SCHROUD OF THE FRONT PASSENGER'S SIDE. *AK
VEHICLE CAME EQUIPPED WITH FIRESTONE WILDERNESS HT TIRES (P235/70R16 DOT W2081PT296), WHILE DRIVING THE RIGHT REAR TIRE BLEWOUT, ON ANOTHER OCCASION THE RIGHT FRONT TIRE WENT FLAT WHILE DRIVING SLOWLY ACROSS A PARKING LOT. NLM
1ST SERVICE AT 3000 MILEAGE-A/C LEAKED TWICE; LATER - ALIGNMENT AT THE BACK (BED) AREA WAS CROOCKED DUE TO SHOCKS; BUILT-IN FLOOR MATS ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT WHEN THE GAS PEDAL BECAME STUCK TO THE THE FLOOR MAT WHILE DRIVING; LASTLY,POWER STEERING WHEEL LOCKED ITSELF WHILE DRIVING ON THE ROAD AND WAS UNABLE TO MANUEVER/CONTROL THE PICK-UP'S STEERING WHEELS; JOETEN REPRESENTATIVES CONCLUDED THAT POWER STEERING PUMP FAILED/BROKE.
STEERING GEAR ASSEMBLY AND PITMAN ARM FAILED CAUSING LOSS OF CONTROL. YH
UNDER WET CONDITIONS CONSUMER APPLIED BRAKES AND BRAKING SYSTEM LOCKED UP, CAUSING VEHICLE TO SLIDE. ALSO, IT SEEMED THAT BRAKES WOULD NOT IMMEDIATELY RELEASE WHEN BRAKE PEDAL WAS RELEASED. DEALERSHIP HAS NOT EXAMINED VEHICLE, AND A LOCAL JIFFY LUBE COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH BRAKE SYSTEM. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY ADDITIONAL INFORMATION/ATTACHMENTS.*AK
STEERING COLUMN LOCKED UP WHILE MAKING A LANE CHANGE, UNABLE TO TURN WHEEL , DRIVER HIT A SEMI HEAD ON.
THIS IS A FOLLOW-UP TO ODI#704135 FILED YESTERDAY. IN THIS INCIDENT, THE TORSION BAR BROKE WHILE THR TRUCK WAS SITTING IN OUR DRIVE-WAY. IT WAS FIXED UNDER WARRANTY BY VERMILLION FORD, 101 WEST CHERRY, VERMILLION, SD; PHONE 605-624-8624. THEY SENT THE PAPER WORK TO FORD, BUT THEY COULD NOT TELL ME IF FORD REQUESTED THAT THE TORSION BAR BE SENT BACK TO FORD. AFTER TWO ORIGINAL BARS BREAKING, FOR OTHERS' SAFETY, WE FEEL THIS MERITS RECALL CONSIDERATION. THANK YOU.
WHILE DRIVING ABOUT 40-45 MPH THE TORSION BAR IN THE FRONT END SNAPPED IN HALF, CAUSING OWNER TO LOSE CONTROL OF TRUCK. THE TRUCK IS BEING REPAIRED. *AK

DURING FRONTAL IMPACT AT 40 TO 50 MPH, THE DRIVER'S AND PASSENGER'S SIDE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. *AK *SLC
WHEN APPLYING ALOT OF PRESSURE TO THE BRAKES THEY WORK RIGHT FOR A COUPLE OF SECONDS THEN THEY RELEASE LIKE THEY ARE NOT WORKING, THEN THEY WILL SLAM. DEALER REPLACED BRAKES, AND TURNED ROTORS. AFTER 2 WEEKS, PROBLEM REOCCURRED. *AK *ML
NO DEPLOYMENT OF AIR BAG DURING COLLISION RESULTING IN INJURIES TO HEAD.
