EVERY 2 MONTHS PASSENGER'S REAR WHEEL WOULD BECOME LOOSE. FORD'S DESCRIPTION OF LUGS: NUTS TIGHTENING WOULD OVERTORQUE IT & CAUSE IT TO FATIGUE & EVENTUALLY BREAK. *AK
VIBARATIONS WITH RESONATING NOISE AT 1100 TO 2000RPM. TAKEN BACK TO SEVERAL DEALERS WITH NO ANSWER/
FRONT BRAKE ROTORS WARPED, CAUSING VIBRATION WHEN APPLYING BRAKES. ALSO DRUMS REPLACED.
CONSUMER HAS NOT RECEIVED SECOND NOTICE WHICH SHOULD HAVE BEEN RECEIVED IN EARLY SEPTEMBER. DEALER CLAIMS THERE ARE NO PARTS TO CORRECT RECALL. HAS BEEN WAITING FOR OVER 4 MONTHS. *AK
THE WINDSHIELD WASHER FLUID PUMP WILL ENGAGE WITHOUT NOTICE,BLOCKING DRIVERS VIEW.DEALER WAS NOTIFIED,TURN SIGNAL AND WIPER ASSEMBLY REPLACED AT COST TO ORIGINAL OWNER.
SLIDING REAR WINDOW LEAKS.
CONSUMER WAS INVOLVED IN A HIGH SPEED FRONTAL COLLISION IN WHICH THE DRIVER'S AND PASSENGER'S AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. PLEASE GIVE ANY FURTHER DETAILS. *AK
CENTER ARM REST WITH CUPHOLDER HAS NO LOCK, WHEN PRESSURE IS APPLIED TO BACK OF ARM REST IT COMES UP.
THE SPARE TIRE CARRIER UNDER THE TRUCK RUBS GROVES ON THE SIDE OF THE SPARE TIRE. OWNER GUESS IS THAT THE GROVES AR E 1/8 INCH DEEP. THE PROLBEM WAS REPORTED TO THE MANUFACTURER. THE TIRE HAS BEEN REPLACED BY DEALERSHIP. THE SPARE TIRE CARRIER IS BEING CHECKED FOR THE PROBLEM. *AK

RECALL # 98V095000 FORD/LUGS: NUTS; OWNER NEVER RECEIVED 2ND RECALL NOTICE. WHEN SON WAS DRIVING THE TRUCK ABOUT 30-35 MPH, THE REAR WHEEL ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE ALMOST CAME OFF BECAUSE ALL THE LUGHS NUTS AND STUDS CAME OFF THE WHEEL EXCEPT ONE. *AK

RECALL #97V147000; AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS BROUGHT IN FOR RECALL SERVICE FOR THE TRANSMISSION SHIFT CABLE . AT APPROXIMATLY 5 MILES AFTER LEAVING THE DEALERSHIP TRANSMISSION BLEW, NO PRIOR PROBLEM WITH TRANSMISSION EXCEPT FOR RECALL. DEALER IS CHARGING FOR REPAIRS. *AK
RUBBER HOSE THAT IS CONNECTED TO THE FILLER TUBE WHICH GOES INTO THE FUEL TANK IS LEAKING FUEL AROUND THE FRAME. PLEASE GIVE ANY FURTHER DETAILS. *AK

RECEIVED RECALL NOTICE CONCERNING LUGS:NUTS:BOLTS, AND DEALER HAS NOT RECEIVED ANY PARTS. THE DEALER CANNOT DO THE RECALL WHICH MAY CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. *AK
I REALLY DON'T KNOW THE EXTENT OF MY PROBLEMS. HOWEVER, MY TRUCK HAS A ROUGH IDLE AND HESITATION AND HAS STALLED A COUPLE OF TIMES. I HAVE CHANGED GRADES OF GASOLINE AND BRANDS OF GASOLINE. I HAVE ALSO TRIED INJECTOR CLEANER. I HAVE HAD IT TO TWO DIFFERENT DEALERS. I HAVE HAD IT TO COMMONWEALTH FORD IN RICHMOND KY 40475 TWICE AND PERFORMANCE FORD WHERE THE TRUCK WAS PURCHASED ONCE. NEITHER PLACE FOUND ANYTHING WRONG. MY TRUCK IS ALMOST OUT OF WARRANTY AND I AM AFRAID THAT SOMETHING MAJOR MAY BE WRONG AND I DON'T WANT TO BE STUCK WITH A HUGE REPAIR BILL. I HAVE ALSO CONTACTED FORD CUSTOMER ASSISTANCE AND RECIEVED NO HELP THEIR EITHER. I DON'T KNOW WHAT ELSE TO DO. I WOULD APPRECIATE ANY INFORMATION THAT YOU CAN PROVIDE. THANKS BRIAN ELSEA.

POORLY DESIGNED LOCATION OF THE EXHAUST PIPE CAUSED THE PASSENGER SIDE WHEEL COVER TO CORRODE.ALSO THE PRESENT LOCATION OF THE PIPE CAUSES EXHAUST FUMES TO COME INTO THE CAB IF THE WINDOW IS DOWN. RECALL NOTICE NOT RECIEVED.

CONSUMER HAS HAD VEHICLE IN AT DEALER SIX TIMES. *AK
CONSUMER RECEIVED A RECALL LETTER IN JUNE 1998, AND HAS NOT HAD THE WORK PERFORMED ON THE VEHICLE YET. MANUFACTURER RECALL # 98S14/NHTSA RECALL #98V095000. *AK
#1 WHEN YOU PUT THE TRANSMISSION IN DRIVE AND PROCEED FORWARD YOU CAN HEAR THE DRIVE SHAFT OR REAREND CLANK TWICE. THIS IS GETTING LOUDER AS I DRIVE IT. IT FEELS LIKE THE DRIVESHAFT WILL EVENTUALLY BREAK. # 2 WHILE DRIVING THE TRUCK AND ITS SHIFTING GEARS THE WHOLE TRUCK WILL FLUTTER AS IF IT WILL NOT GO INTO THE PROPER GEAR.

TIMING CHAIN COVER BROKE, RESULTING IN WATER LEAKAGE. *YC
REAR AXLE SEAL FAILED, CAUSED DIFFERENTIAL TO LEAK AND CONTAMINATE BRAKE DRUM. *YC
DESIGN OF EXHAUST PIPES LOCATION CAUSES IT TO DISCOLOR THE REAR TIRE AND REMOVE CROME FROM CENTER WHEEL.
DRY DAY; WHILE DRIVING ON FLAT GROUND, PULLING INTO PARKING STALL, AND WHEN MAKING A RIGHT TURN, FRONT LEFT MADE A RACHETING SOUND. AS CONSUMER PRESSED ON BRAKES, APPLYING MORE AND MORE PRESSURE, VEHICLE STOPPED AFTER PROCEEDING APPROXIMATELY TWO CAR LENGTHS. THE BRAKES HAVE FAILED MORE THE TWO TIMES. DEALERSHIP CANNOT DUPLICATE PROBLEM-,AND SAYS THERE'S NOTHING THEY COULD DO. *AK
ARM REST IN THE CENTER OF THE BENCH SEAT DOES NOT LOCK IN THE DOWN POSITION, AS IT DOES IN THE UP AND LOCKED POSITION. THIS ARM REST ALSO HAS A RECESSED CUP HOLDER. PASSENGERS GAINING ENTRY INTO THE BACK SEAT VIA THE THIRD DOOR, PLACE THEIR HAND ON THE BACK OF THE ARM REST FOR SUPPORT, THE ARM REST FOLDS UPWARD AND ANYTHING IN THE CUP HOLDER IS CATAPULTED INTO THE BACK SEAT. FORD CORRECTED THIS PROBLEM IN THE 98 AND NEWER MODELS, BUT WON'T CORRECT IT FOR THIS 97 TRUCK.
RIGHT REAR WHEEL IS DISCOLORED BECAUSE OF EXHAUST PIPE COMING OUT THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE VEHICLE.
BRAKE SYSTEM IS INCAPABLE OF GENERATING ENOUGH FORCE TO LOCK UP WHEELS, OR EVEN MAKE THEM SQUEEL, ON DRY ROAD EVEN WITH EMPTY TRUCK. VEH HAS REAR ANTI-LOCK FEATURE BUT CANNOT GENERATE ENOUGH FORCE TO CAUSE FEATURE TO ACTIVATE ON DRY ROAD. WITH ADDED CARGO WEIGHT OR TRAILER STOPPING DISTANCES ARE EXTREMELY LONG. RETURNED TO DEALER 2 TIMES FOR SERVICE. DEALER SAYS ALL IS NORMAL. BRAKES ARE VERY WEAK COMPARED TO PREVIOUS TRUCKS I'VE OWNED. A FRIEND WITH SAME YEAR F-150 HAS SAME PROBLEM. BRAKES ARE ADEQUATE FOR NORMAL DRIVING EMPTY BUT WITH A LOAD OR PANIC STOP SITUATION IT BECOMES APPARENT THEY ARE WEAK. I NEARLY HAD AN ACIDENT WHEN I RAN THROUGH A RED LIGHT I COULD NOT STOP FOR WITH A LOAD.

LEAF SPRING WAS BROKEN UPON RECEIVING TRUCK. I DID NOT KNOW UNTILL I WAS TRING TO LOAD APPROX 150LBS OF FURNITURE, I HAVE TRIED TALKING TO DEALERSHIP ABOUT PROBLEM, BUT THEY SAY IT IS OUT OF THERE HANDS.
