REAR LEAF SPRING SNAPPED UNDER NORMAL USE, FRAME CAME DOWN ON THE AXLE DUE TO FAILURE. MJS
WHILE DRIVING THE WHEEL BEARINGS SEPARATED FROM THE VEHICLE, TIRE AND RIM ALSO EPARATED FROM VEHICLE, RESULTING IN A COLLISION. THE DEALER HAS BEEN NOTIFIED. *AK
THROTTLE STUCK AND VEHICLE ACCELERATED FORWARD. DRIVER COULD NOT MAKE THE VEHICLE SLOW DOWN BY APPLYING THE BRAKES. DRIVER HAD TO DOWNSHIFT GEARS IN ORDER TO STOP VEHICLE. DEALER COULD FIND THE CAUSE. *AK
ENGINE KNOCK AT COLD START UP--FORD TO REPLACE ENGINE.-A/C HAS A MUSTY SMELL AT START UP, DEALER HAS SPRAYED IT 4 TIMES, AND STILL HAS THE SAME SMELL. *AK
WINDSHIELD WIPERS COME ON BY THEMSELVES, CAUSING A DISTRACTION TO DRIVER. DEALER CLAIMS SWITCH AND MODULE NEED TO BE REPLACED. 2. TAILPIPE LOCATED TO IN FRONT OF PASSENGER'S REAR WHEEL CAUSING EXHAUST TO CORRODE WHEEL AND LUGS: NUTS. DEALER WILL NOT CHANGE LOCATION OF EXHAUST. *AK

WHAT I CONCERN ABOUT THE CRACKS ON THE DOORS OF THE F150 I HAVE SEEN ABOUT 20 TRUCKS WITH CRACKS OF 23 THAT HAVE CHECK . MY TRUCK IS OUT OF WARRANTY BUT I THINK FORD SHOULD RECALL ALL TRUCKS . *AK

WHILE VEHICLE WAS IN PARK RIGHT TORSION BAR BROKE, CAUSING THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE TO DROP. PLEASE GIVE ANY FURTHER DETAILS. *AK
VEHICLE EXPERIENCING PREMATURE STRUCTURAL CRACKS ON BOTH DRIVER AND PASSENGER DOORS, LOCATED ON THE RIGHT HAND SIDE OF THE WINDOW FRAME. *MJS

THE DOOR ON THE TRUCK HAS CRACKS, DEALERSHIP REFUSES TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT CRACKS.*ET
OUTSIDE OF THE DOOR FRAME ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE IS CRACKED ABOUT 8-12 INCHES AROUND THE DOOR HANDLE. MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED ABOUT THE PROBLEM. PROBLEM HAS NOT BEEN CORRECTED. ALL THEY SAY IS THE VEHICLE IS COVERED FOR 36,000 MILES OR 36 MONTHS. *AK.ET.
CRACKS DEVELOPING NEAR BOTTOM OF WINDOWS JUST UNDER THE EDGE OF THE MOULDING AND ON THE DRIVERS SIDE HAS NOW GROWN TO A LITTLE OVER .25INCH. *AK
HOOD BEGAN COMING UP AROUND JUNE OF 1999, RELEASES 2 TO 3 TIMES A WEEK. DOES NOT RELEASE SECOND LATCH TO FLY ALL THE WAY UP. THE SPEEDOMETER GAUGES STARTED WORKING IMPROPERLY LATE FEBRUARY OF 2000, THE MILEAGE COUNTER STOPS, THEN AFTER 3-4 HUNDRED MILES STARTS WORKING AGAIN. THIS HAS HAPPENED 3 TIMES SINCE.
WHILE DRIVING ENGINE CHECK LIGHT ILLUMINATED, INDICATING A MALFUNCTION WITHIN THE SYSTEM, VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED OUT OF CONTROL. BRAKES FAILED TO STOP VEHICLE. VEHICLE TAKEN TO DEALER 8 TIMES, BUT UNABLE TO FIND THE CAUSE. *AK *ML
WHEN GOING OVER A BUMP, BACK WHEEL WILL SPIN FASTER THAN THE FRONT WHEEL, CAUSING LOSS OF BRAKES , AND PEDAL WILL GO TO FLOOR. BRAKES WILL RESUME AFTER VEHICLE IS PUT INTO REVERSE. MANUFACTURER HAS SEND OUT BULLETIN CONCERNING DEFECT. *AK
ENGINE SHAKES AND IS NOT PERFORMING ON ALL CYLINDERS DUE TO SPARK PLUG FAILURES/RUSTING THAT IS CAUSED BY UNINSULATED A/C PIPE DRIPPING WATER ON TO SPARK PLUG. YH
DURING WARM WEATHER THE SENSORS IN THE DOOR APPEAR TO BE HEAT ACTIVATED WHICH DOES NOT ALLOW THE DOME LIGHT CIRCUIT TO CLOSE, WHEN THE DOOR IS OPENED THE LIGHT COMES ON AS IT SHOULD BUT STAYS ON WHEN THE DOOR IS CLOSED, AT NIGHT THIS CAUSES VISIBILITY PROBLEMS. NLM

AFTER READING POSTINGS ON WWW.F150ONLINE.COM I LOOKED AT MY OWN TRUCK AND FOUND A SMALL CRACK IN THE SHEET METAL ON THE DRIVERS DOOR. THE CRACK IS LOCATED NEXT TO THE DRIVERS WINDOW IN THE LOWER RIGHT CORNER. THIS IS DEFENITLY A DEFECT AND FORD NEEDS TO ADDRESS THE PROBLEM!
LEFT DOOR EXHIBITS A CRACK IN THE DOOR SHEET METAL. THIS CRACK IS INCREASING IN LENGTH THIS IS A ONGOING PROBLEM WITH MANY 97 F150'S AND LATER MODELS ALSO. THIS CRACK HAS TO BE A VERY UNSAFE CONDITION. *AK
COMPLAINED OF DOOR CRACKS TO DEALER, AND THEY SAID IT'S ON ALOT OF TRUCKS, AND IF THEY REPLACE THE DOOR, IT WILL JUST HAPPEN AGAIN. I WANT IT FIXED. *AK

THE RIGHT REAR TIRE FREEZES WITH ICE FORM THE EXHAUST WHICH IS PLACED IN FRONT OF THE TIRE CAUSING SLIPPAGE, LONGER STOPPING DISTANCE AND LOSS OF TRACTION, CONSUMER REQUEST EXHAUST BE MOVED TO REAR. NLM

THE VEHICLE'S DOOR IS CRACKING, THE DEALERSHIP WANTS TO ISSUE A PATCH REPAIR FOR THE CRACKS WHICH SEEMS INADEQUATE TO THE CONSUMER. *MJS
REAR WINDOW HAS A LEAK ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE SLIDING WINDOW THAT HAS BEEN SENT BACK TO THE SHOP SEVERAL TIME FOR REPAIRS. ITS ON OING ! THE WINDOW HAS BEEN REPLACED W/ FRAME THREE TIMES , BUT THE TRUCK HAS BEEN IN SHOP SEVERAL TIMES PRIOR TO AND AFTER THE WINDOWS HAVE BEEN REPLACED. IT WOULD LAST A SHORT TIME AND WOULD THEN START LEAKING ALL OVER AGAIN. ** PRESENTLY STILL LEAKING **. # 2 . ENGINE HAS A KNOCK DURING START UP. SOUNDS MORE LIKE A DIESEL ! BOTH ISSUES HAVE BEEN PRESENT SINCE 14,000 MILES OR SO. THIS TRUCK HAS HAD SEVERAL PROBLEMS. TO MENTION A FEW ; REAR BUMPER RUSTING OUT, DOOR & SHIFT NOBS BREAKING , BODY PAINT PEELING, RATTLE IN FLOOR GEAR SHIFT ( STILL PRESENT ), ** NOW THE AIR CONDITIONING IS NOT WORKING **. I LIKE THE TRUCK, BUT WOULD RATHER HAVE ONE WITH OUT ALL THE PROBLEMS !
AFTER I PURCHASED MY TRUCK, IT DEVELOPED AVIBRATION IN THE REAR END. I REPLACED THE TIRES THAT WERE ON IT WHEN I PURCHSED IT WITH MULTI MILE WILD SPIRIT. THE VIBRATION CONTINUED. NEXT I REPLACED ALL THE RIMS WITH NEW FORD EXPEDITION RIMS, AND THE VIBRATION CONTINUED. NEXT, I REPLACED THE SHOCKS ON ALL FOUR CORNERS, AND THE VIBRATION CONTINUES. THE TIRES HAVE BEEN BALANCED A TOTAL OF 7 TIMES IN 10 MONTHS. THE VIBRATION OCCURS BETWEEN 58 AND 75 MPH. *AK
WHILE TRAVELING AND WHEN MAKING A TURN, STEERING WHEEL WOULD NOT RESPOND TO THE TURN . PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER INFORMATION. *AK
FRONT BRAKES LOCK WHEN STARTING THE VEHICLE IN COLD MORNINGS. YH
SPARE TIRE CARRIER FAILED CAUSING THE TIRE TO FALL OFF. YH
CRACK IN THE DRIVERS &PASS DOORS IN THE BOTTOM REAR CORNER BY THE WINDOW IN CENTER WERE IT CURVES. *AK
LEFT REAR LOWER LEAF SPRING LOOSENS AND SPINS OUT FROM THE ONES ON TOP OF IT.THEREFORE THE LEFT SIDE SUSPENSION IS NOT FULLY SUPPORTED.IF TRUCK IS FULLY LOADED FAILURE OF THE SUSPENSION AND LEFT REAR WHEEL LOCKUP IS POSSIABLE.I HAVE READ OF THIS FROM VARIOUS SOURCES. *AK
WHEN OPENING DOORS INTERIOR LIGHTS WILL COME ON, BUT THEY WILL NOT TURN OFF WHEN CLOSING DOORS. ALSO, THEY WILL COME ON BY THEMSELVES WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. DEALER HAS REPLACED DOOR SWITCHES WITH SAME DESIGN ABOUT 3 TIMES, EACH SWITCH ONLY LASTS ABOUT 6-8 MONTHS. *AK *ML
BOTH DRIVER AND PASSENGERS DOORS HAVE CRACKED. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER WHICH WELDED THEM. A COUPLE OF MONTHS LATER THE DRIVERS DOOR RECRACKED THIS TIME THE DOOR WAS REPLACED. BUT IT IS JUST A MATTER OF TIME TILL IT RECRACKS DUE TO THE DESIGN. I FEEL FORD SHOULD BE REQUIRED TO DO A PERMANENT REPAIR.EACH TIME I HAVE HAD IT IN THAY HAVE HAD TO KEEP IT FOR ABOUT A WEEK. *AK
FUEL TANK ASSEMBLY: FILLER TUBE HAS CRACKED, CAUSING THE GAS TO LEAK. DEALER HAS BEEN CONTACTED.*AK
POWER STEERING BRACKET BROKE WHICH THREW MAIN BELT OFF, CAUSING FAILURE OF BRAKES AND POWER STEERING. CONSUMER FEELS THAT THERE SHOULD NOT BE ONLY 1 BELT THAT OPERATES BRAKES AND STEERING. *AK
WHILE DRIVING THERE WAS A FLAPPING NOISE COMING FROM REAR PASSENGER'S TIRE. CONSUMER NOTICED THAT TREAD WAS SEPARATING. TIRE WAS REPLACED.*AK
WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH STEERING BOX FELL OFF, DISCONNECTED FROM FRAME DUE TO BOLTS THAT SHEARED OFF, CAUSING LOSS OF STEERING. VEHICLE RAN THROUGH YARD AND INTO A TREE. *AK
THIS VEHICLE HAD FIRESTONE ATX TIRES. WHILE DRIVING AT 65 MPH TREAD SEPARATED ON THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE, RIPPING THE FIBERGLASS FENDER THAT'S AROUND THE REAR TIRE. DEALER HAS NOT BEEN CONTACTED. *AK
TRUCK CONTINUES TO HANDLE POORLY AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS DEALER CHECKED SEVERAL TIMES AND FOUND NOTHING MECHANICLY WRONG EXCLUDING THE FIORST TIME WHEN THEY REPLACED A SECTION OF THE STEERING COLLUMN THEY ROTATED AND REBALANCED THE TIRES TO NO AVAIL WARRANTY EXPIREED DUE TO TIME WITH PROBLEM STILL EVIDENT OUR SECOND CAR WITH 104,000 MILES HANDLES MUCH BETTER AT ANY SPEED. WE HAVE HAD 4 OTHER TRUCKS SO WERE FAMILIAR WITH HOW A TRUCK SHOULD HANDLE THROUGH ALL SPEED RANGES. THANK YOU. *AK( DOT NUMBER: TIRE SIZE: P235/7516R )
