TIRES SEEM TO BE CRACKING IN THE TREAD AREA. ONE TIRE PULLED TO THE LEFT WHEN LETTING GO OF THE STEARING WHEEL. TIRES HAVE ALREADY BEEN REPLACED BY A TIRE DEALER IN MY CITY BY A NONE FIRESTONE COMPANY. *AK (DOT NUMBER: W208 TIRESIZE: P235 70R16)
ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT ON FORD F150, 1997 WITH 20,000 MILES. DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH IN WET WEATHER WHEN RIGHT REAR TIRE RUBBER TREAD CAME OFF, CAUSING VEHICLE TO LOSE CONTROL AND RUN INTO DITCH. THERE WAS SOME BODY DAMAGE. TIRE IS STILL INFLATED . TIRE SIZE P23570R16, DOT W2081PT126.*AK
I HAD EXPERIENCED A LOSS OF BRAKES ON THREE OR FOUR DIFFERENT OCCASIONS. I BROUGHT VEHICLE TO MANUFACTURES SERVICE REPRESENATIVE. I EXPLAINED I LOSS MY BRAKES FOR A SHORT MOMMENT AND THEN THEY RETURN. WITH THE MOST RECENT OCCURANCE THE ABS LIGHT CAME ON. THIS DID NOT HAPPEN IN PREVIOUS INCIDENCES. THEY CHECKED THE ABS SYSTEM FOUND NO ERRORS, THEY CHECKED THE BRAKES NO PROBLEMS. THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING, I HAD TO SPEEK WITH THE SERVICE TECH DIRECTLY GIVING MORE OF A DETAIL OF WHAT HAPPENS. THEY CAME BACK AND FOUND THE MASTER BRAKE CYLINDER WAS LEAKING CAUSING THE INTERMITTENT (EXTREMELY RANDOM) FAILURE. THEY CHARGED ME FOR THE REPAIR (NO PROBLEM). I CALLED FORD MOTOR DIRECT AND ASKED TO BE REFUNDED MY REPAIR COST BECAUSE I DID'NT THINK A MASTER BRAKE CYCLINDER SHOULD BE FAILING @ 38K. THEY WERE VERY PROFESSIONAL AND HAD NO OBJECTIONS, THEY AGREED TOTALLY (THEY PAID ME FOR THE REPAIR). A WEEK LATER, THIS MORNING I ALMOST CRASHED INTO A SEMI. THE END OF MY ROAD HAS A STOP SIGN CONECTING TO A MAJOR HIGHWAY. WHEN I PROCEEDED TO USE MY BRAKES TO STOP THE VEHICLE DID NOT STOP! THE BRAKE PROBLEM WAS BACK. THIS INCIDENT WAS THE WORST OF THE BRAKE FAILURES, I LITERALLY ALMOST GOT CRUSHED BY THE SEMIDID. I CALLED THE MANUFACTURES SERVICE REP. THEY TOLD ME THEY THOUGHT THEY HAD THE FIX WITH MASTER CYCLINER, OBVIOUSLY IT WAS NOT THE FIX. I ASKED WHAT THEY THOUGHT IT COULD BE THEY HAD NO CLUE! I HAVE AN APPOINTMENT THIS MONDAY WITH THE SHOP TO SEE IF THEY CAN FIND THE CAUSE ONE MORE TIME. I STRESS, THIS PROBLEM IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. WHEN ONE LOSSES HIS BRAKES YOU LOSS TOTAL CONTROL. I HOPE THIS INFORMATION CAN HELP SAVE A LIFE SOME WHERE. THANK YOU

I FEEL THAT YOUR SEAT BELT LAW IS A JOKE IF I WAS TO DIE BECAUSE I GET TRAPPED INSIDE MY VEHICLE BECAUSE THE LAW MAKES ME WEAR A SEAT BELT WILL MY WIFE BE ABLE TO SUE THE GOVERMENT BECAUSE THEY ARE THE ONES FORCING US TO WEAR SEAT BELTS. *AK
FRONT RIGHT INNER TIE ROD RUSTED , AND FELT VEHCLE OPERATING POORLY WHILE MAKING A RIGHT HAND TURN. DEALER HAS BEEN CONTACTED.*AK
CONSUMER BELIEVES HIS TRUCK IS INCLUDED IN RECALL 98V-095 OF THE LUG NUTS, CONSUMER HAS BEEN UNABLE TO OBTAIN DETAILS OF THE RECALL AND IS TRYING TO HAVE HIS VEHICLE INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. NLM
BOTH FRONT DOORS EXHIBIT CRACKS IN THE DOOR SHEET METAL AT THE LOWER REAR OF THE BELT MOLDING ON THE REAR SIDE OF THE WINDOWS. THE CRACKS APPEAR TO BE GETTING LARGER WITH RUST FORMING ALONG THE CRACKED EDGES. *AK
DOOR AT LOWER WINDOW HAS DEVELOPED CRACK ON BOTH DOORS.ELECTRICAL SYSTEM THAT READS DOOR AJAR OR SHUT IN DOOR HAS FAILED /ALSO CONTROLS WIPERS & INT.& EXT. LIGHTING/ THEY SHARE THE SAME FUSE.*AK
THE TAIL PIPE IS LOCATED IN FRONT OF THE REAR WHEEL BY DESIGN, IT HEATS THE LUGS, NUTS AND BOLTS MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO REMOVE THEM. NLM
SOME OF THE STEERING ASSEMBLY COMPONENTS WORE PREMATURELY DUE TO LACK OF LUBRICATION. NLM
THEIR WAS A RECALL FOR REAR WINDSHIELD WIPERS. AFTER CONSUMER HAD RECALL WORK PERFORMED, REAR WINDOW LEAKED WHEN IT RAINED. THE DEALER HAS BEEN CONTACTED.*AK

CONSUMER CANNOT SHIFT INTO PARK GEAR ,CAUSE UNKNOWN. *AK THE CONSUMER INDICATED THAT THERE WAS A DEFECT RECALL NOTICE FOR AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION OF VEHICLE'S SIMILAR TO THAT OF THE CONSUMER. THE CONSUMER WANTS REIMBURSEMENT FOR THE EXPENSES FROM THE MANUFACTURER. *YH
SWAY BAR LINKAGE BROKE TWICE, CAUSING LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL. PLEASE GIVE ANY FURTHER DETAILS. *AK
WHILE DRIVING FRONT PASSENGER'S SIDE TORSION BAR BROKE, CAUSING FRONT FENDER TO LOWER ONTO FRONT WHEEL. DEALER HAS BEEN COTNACTED. *AK
WHEN MOTOR GOT WARM WHILE DRIVING DOWN A HILL VEHICLE WOULD SHUTDOWN. A FEW MINUTES LATER, WOULD TURN BACK ON BY ITSELF. THIS PROCESS WOULD REPEAT ITSELF AT LEAST 12 TIMES A DAY. HAVE TAKEN TO DEALERSHIP NUMEROUS TIMES, BUT MECHANIC INDICATED THAT IT WAS A FUSE BOX PROBLEM. *AK
ENGINE IDLES HIGH AND THEN DROPS DOWN LOW. MECHANIC STATED THAT ENGINE WAS GETTING READY TO THROW A ROD. *AK
SEAL FAILED ON TIMING GEAR COVER AND ALLOWED ANTI FREEEZE TO MIX WITH ENGINE OIL, CRANKSHAFT AND ROD BEARINGS HAD TO BE REPLACED. CJ
WHILE BACKING OUT OF DRIVEWAY FRONT TORISON BAR BROKE, CAUSING FRONT PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE TO DROP OFF. PLEASE GIVE ANY FURTHER DETAILS.*AK

WINDSHIELD WIPERS WOULD ACTIVATE BY THEMSELVES, AND THEN SQUIRT WATER ON WINDSHIELD. THIS WOULD CAUSE A VISIBILITY PROBLEM FOR DRIVER. ITS UNEXPECTED AND VERY DISTRACTING.*AK
VEHICLE WAS LEAKING ANTI-FREEZE. PRIOR TO LEAKAGE, VEHICLE WAS OVERHEATING. TOOK TO MECHANIC, AND INFORMED CONSUMER THAT COULD NOT LOCATE WHERE LEAKAGE WAS LOCATED AFTER CHECKING PRESSURE. DROVE VEHICLE SECOND TIME, AND PROBLEM WAS DISCOVERED IN TIMING CHAIN COVER GASKET. MECHANIC FINALLY REPAIRED PROBLEM. *AK CONSUMER WAS INFORMED BY A PARTS MANAGER THAT THIS WAS A RECALL, HOWEVER THIS VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED BECAUSE IT WAS BUILT AT THE END OF THE YEAR. *SLC
WHEN DRIVING AT 30 MPH, RIGHT SIDE BRAKE ROTOR WHICH IS ATTACHED ON HUB HAS SEPARATED, CAUSING VEHICLE TO SWAY TO ONE SIDE, AND ALMOST RESULTING IN A NEAR ACCIDENT. CONSUMER HAS CONTACTED DEALER. *AK *SLC
ENGINE FAILED, THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE THIS PARTICULAR ENGINE BUT ONLY ON THE CARS. NLM
PURCHASED AN EXTENDED CAB PICKUP BECAUSE I HAVE TWO CHILDREN. SINCE PURCHASE, THEY HAVE GROWN AND WHEN THEY ARE IN THE BACK SEAT, THEY'RE HEADS ARE IN LINE WITH THE REAR WINDOW. I'M AFRAID THAT IF I WAS STRUCK FROM THE REAR, MY DAUGHTERS HEADS WOULD GO THROUGH THE BACK WINDOW AND SUFFER HEAD AND NECK INJURIES.. I PURCHASED 4 FIRESTONE WILDERNESS TIRES FROM THE BASE EXCHANGE IN COLORADO, ON THE AIR FORCE ACADEMY. WITHIN6 MONTHS ALL 4 TIRES HAD GONE OUT. ALL 4 TIRES WERE REPLACED WITH OTHER FIRESTONE TIRES. WHEN THEY STARTED TO GO BAD I REPLACED THEM.*AK (DOT NUMBER: W208IPT227 TIRESIZE: 70R16)

VEHICLE WAS PARKED FOR OVER AN HOUR, AND CONSUMER HEARD A LOUD NOISE. NOTED VEHICLE HAD DROPPED DOWN DUE TO TORSION BAR ON PASSENGER'S SIDE HAD SNAPPED AND BROKE, CAUSING THE PROBLEM. CONSUMER HAS CONTACTED DEALER, DEALER HAS REPLACED BOTH TORSION BARS. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY FURTHER DETAILS.*AK

I HAVE CONTACTED FORD MOTOR CO. BY PHONE & EMAIL AND THEY SAY THEY WILL GET BACK W/ME AND NEVER DO. THERE IS NO FOLLOW UP ON THEIR PART. NO CUSTOMER SERVICE AND NO SATISFACTION. THE CUSTOMER SERVICE ENDED AT THE SIGNING OF THE BILL OF SALE. NO SAFETY DEFECT. *AK
