WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT 55MPH THE VEHICLE HAD A SUDDEN BURST OF ACCELERATION THAT TOOK THE VEHICLE UP TO A 100MPH, ALMOST CAUSING CONSUMER TO CRASH. DEALER HAS BEEN CONTACTED. *AK
REAR WHEEL AND TIRE FELL OFF OF VEHICLE RESULTING IN VEHICLE ROLLOVER ACCIDENT.
ABS BRAKE SENSOR LIGHT FAILED. *YC
WHEN DRIVING AT ANY SPEED AND COMING TO A STOP, VEHICLE WILL SHUTDOWN WITHOUT PRIOR WARNING. *AK
DRIVER PARKED VEHICLE AND TURNED VEHICLE OFF; THE NEXT MORNING THE FAN WAS RUNNING AND THE AIRBAG LIGHT WOULD NOT GO OUT; WHEN DRIVER STARTED UP THE ENGINE, THE ENGINE CHECK LIGHT CAME ON AND THE SPEEDOMETER HAD STOPPED WORKING.
THE BEARINGS BURNED OUT ON THE DIFFERENTIAL. DEALER CONTACTED AND REPLACED THE DIFFERENTIAL UNDER WARRANTY. *AK
FRONT END VIBRATES/SHAKES AT SPEEDS UP TO 60 MPH. ALSO, REPLACED STEERING SHAFT.
TRANSMISSION AXLE SEAL FAILURE. *YC
GEAR SHIFTER POPPED OUT OF PARK AND INTO REVERSE.
HAD RECEIVED RECALL NOTICE (#98V095000, LUGS:NUTS:BOLTS. CALLED DEALER AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME. DEALER WILL CALL OWNER WHEN PARTS DO BECOME AVAILABLE. AS OF THIS DATE, HAS NOT HEARD ANYTHING YET. *AK
HAD RECEIVED RECALL NOTICE (#98V095000) & CALLED DEALER. WAS INFORMED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE. WILL CALL WHEN THEY COME IN. AS OF THIS DATE, HAS NOT HEARD FROM DEALER OR MANUFACTURER CONCERNING LUGS: NUTS:BOLTS. *AK
THE REAR BRAKES WERE INOPERATIVE DUE TO A MALFUNCTION IN THE SYSTEM THEREFORE THE FRONT BRAKES WERE DOING ALL THE WORK AND CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO JUMP TO A STOP AND SKID IN TRAFFIC, THE FRONT BRAKES AND ROTORS HAD TO BE REPLACED AS A RESULT OF THE MALFUNCTION, THE SYSTEM MALFUNCTION WAS COVERED UNDER EXTENDED WARRANTY BUT THE FRONT BRAKES AND ROTORS WERE NOT. NLM
WHILE DRIVING THE LUGS: NUTS CAME OFF, CAUSING STEERING WHEEL TO SHAKE. *AK

THE REAR WINDOW DISINTERGRATED SUDDENLY FOR NO REASON. VEHICLE WAS PARKED AT TIME. ALSO, SEAT BELT LOCATION IS AT AN ANGLE, MAKING IT HARD TO REACH & LATCH. *AK
TRANSMISSION DOES NOT SHIFT SMOOTHLY FROM 1ST TO SECOND GEAR. GEAR GRINDING IS OCCURS.

WHEN BRAKES ARE APPLIED THEY BECOME MUSHY, RESULTING IN EXTENDED STOPPING DISTANCE. THE DEALER HAS BEEN NOTIFIED. *AK
I HAVE NOTICED A COUPLE OF TIMES THAT DUE TO THE RELATIVE POSITIONS OF THE BRAKE PEDAL AND ACCELERATOR PEDAL (BOTH IN LATERAL DISTANCE AND IN HEIGHT) THAT IF YOU DO NOT GET YOUR LEFT FOOT ENTIRELY OVER ONTO THE BRAKE PEDAL WHILE STOPPING OR HOLDING STOPPED AT AN INTERSECTION THAT YOU CAN ALSO CATCH THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WHILE TRYING TO BRAKE. THIS RESULTS IN THE TRUCK TRYING TO MOVE FORWARD AND THE OPERATOR TRYING TO DEPRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL FURTHER WITH THE RESULT BEING TO DEPRESS THE ACCLERATOR PEDAL FURTHER AS WELL. THIS CAN OCCUR WITHOUT REALIZING THAT YOUR FOOT IS PARTIALLY ON THE BRAKE PEDAL AND THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL (ONCE THE BRAKE PEDAL IS DEPRESSED FAR ENOUGH) I HAVE CAUGHT THIS OCCURRING SEVERAL TIMES AND IT CAN BE QUITE DISCONCERTING WHEN THE TRUCK STARTS MOVING FORWARD EVEN THOUGH YOU ARE DEPRSSING THE BRAKE PEDAL HARDER AND HARDER. I BELIEVE THE PROBLEM TO BE A DESIGN RELATED ONE THAT IS BUILT INTO THE DESIGN OF THE CONTROLS. WHILE IT HAS NOT RESULTED IN AN INCIDENT WITH MY TRUCK YET IT CERTAINLY COULD ESPECIALLY IF A PERSON PANICS AND DOESN'T REALIZE WHAT IS HAPPENING. I BELIEVE THIS FAILURE COULD EXPLAIN SOME THE COMPLAINTS RECIEVED ABOUT THE TRUCKS ACCELERATING WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL IS DEPRESSED.
BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER FAILED CAUSING BRAKE FADING. MJS

VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATES. VEHICLE HAS BEEN AT DEALERSHIP FOUR TIMES . DEALER HAS REPLACED THE ACCELERATOR CABLE. ALSO REPLACED TWICE CRUISE CONTROL. *AK
WHEN DRIVING AT 55 MPH TO 60 MPH THE VEHICLE SHUT DOWN WITHOUT GIVING THE CONSUMER ANY PRIOR WARNING ,CAUSING THE CONSUMER TO RUN THREE VEHICLES OFF THE HIGHWAY ROAD, AND HAD TO SLOW DOWN AND GET BACK ON THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN BACK TO FORD TEN TIMES AND THEY CAN'T DETERMINE THE PROBLEM. *AK
CONSTANT SHAKING OF THE SEAT, DASHBOARD AND STEERIN WHEEL. DRIVE SHAFT FROM NEW STOCK UNIT INSTALLED.
EMISSION HOSE INCORRECTLY ROUTED AND RUBBING ON REAR OF AIR CONDITIONER COMPRESSOR SUCTION FITTING WHICH HAS A SHARP 90 DEGREE EDGE. DEALER REPLACED AND CORRECTLY REROUTED HOSE. *AK
CONSUMER SAID WHEN HE WAS DRIVING HIS TRUCK AND STARTED TO PUT ON BRAKES THE BRAKES LOCKED UP ON HIM. *AK
RECALL 98V095000.MANUFACTURER'S 98S14. DEALER DID NOT REMEDY THE RECALL BECAUSE THE PARTS WER NOT AVAILABLE, AND THEY DID NOT KNOW WHEN THE PARTS WOULD BECOME AVAILABLE. THE CONSUMER HAS RETURNED THE VEHICLE TO THE FORD DEALER. *AK

WHEN TURNING STEERING WHEEL THERE IS A CLUNCK THAT ONE CAN FEEL IN STEERING WHEEL, SEEMS LOOSE. DEALER CONTACTED FOUR TIMES, STATES NOTHING IS WRONG. DEALER CANNOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. *AK
SEAT BELT RETRACTOR INOPERATIVE DUE TO LOOSE MOUNTING BOLT.
CONSUMER EXPRIENCING PROBLEM WITH DEALER HONORING MANUFACTURER'S RECALL PRETAINING TO THE LUG NUTS:BOLTS. CONSUMER BEEN TRYING TO GET THE DEALER TO DO THE REPAIR SINCE 15-JUL-98, AND DEALER INFORMED CONSUMER THAT THEY ARE UNABLE TO GET THE PARTS FROM MANUFACTURER. SECOND ATTEMPT WAS MADE ON 26-OCT-98, STILL BEING INFORMED THAT THEY ARE UNABLE TO GET PARTS FROM MANUFACTURER. *AK
AFTER VEHICLE HAS BEEN EXPOSED TO SUMMER HEAT SHIFT KNOB COMES OFF WHILE SHIFTING.*AK
BRAKE LINE FAILED TWICE. *YC
THE ABS BRAKING SYSTEM MALFUNCTIONED, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO "SLIDE" THROUGH AND EXTENDED STOPPING DISTANCE WHICH RESULTED IN AN ACCIDENT AT 30 MPH. THE VEHICLE "SLID" THROUGH AND REAREND ANOTHER VEHICLE. UPON IMPACT, THE DRIVER'S AND PASSENGER'S AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. DID NOT PROTECT THE OCCUPANT IN THIS ACCIDENT. DEALER CANNOT DETERMINE PROBLEM. *AK
CONSUMER WAS DRIVING ON ROAD AT 35 MPH UNDER NORMAL ROAD CONDITIONS, STARTED TO SLOW DOWN AND TURN WHEN HE HEARD A LOUD SOUND. PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE, AND NOTICED THE VEHICLE TILTED. LOOKED UNDER THE VEHICLE AND FOUND THE FRONT TORSION BAR FRACTURED. DEALER NOTIFIED. *AK *TT
SHIFTED TO REVERSE HAD NO REVERSE, ONLY DRIVE. WAS NEW TRANSMISSION. DROVE TO DEALER. AT FIRST COULD NOT LOCATE PROBLEM. MECHANIC KEEPING VEHICLE. NEEDS TO TAKE TRANSMISSION APART. *AK
HAD STARTED VEHICLE & SHIFTED INTO DRIVE WHEN VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED. HAD TAKEN VEHICLE TO DEALER & MECHANIC REPLACED THE ACCELERATOR CABLE. TOOK OUT CRUISE CONTROL, BUT DID NOT REPLACE IT. *AK
RECEIVED MANUFACTURER'S RECALL NOTICE #98S-14 IN JUNE, 1998, INFORMING CONSUMER OF LUGS: NUTS REPLACEMENT. ALSO, INFORMING CONSUMER THAT ANOTHER NOTICE WOULD BE SENT IN THIRD QUARTER OF THIS YEAR , LETTING CONSUMER KNOW WHEN THE PARTS WILL BE AVAIABLE. IT IS NOW FOURTH QUARTER. DEALER INFORMED CONSUMER THAT NO PARTS WERE AVAILABLE, NOR FURTHER INFORMATION COULD BE GIVEN AT PRESENT TIME. *AK
CONSUMER HAS BEEN EXPERIENCING PROBLEM WITH TIRE SIDEWALL RUBBING AGAINST THE FRAME. DEALER AND MANUFACTURER NOTIFIED. BOTH WILL NOT ACCEPT THE RESPONSIBILITY OF MANUFACTURER'S. DEFECT OF THIS MATTER. *AK
LUG NUTS FAILED PRIOR TO RECALL NOTICE CAUSING WHEEL TO COME LOOSE RESULTING IN VEHICLE ACCIDENT DUE TO LOSS OF CONTROL.

WHEN DRIVING FORWARD AND BACKING UP CONSUMER APPLIED THE BRAKES, AND NOTICED EVERYTIME APPLYING THE BRAKES THERE IS A SQUEAKING NOISE. *AK
HAD RECEIVED RECALL NOTICE IN THE MAIL 98V-095.000. WAS INFORMED BY DEALER THAT NO PARTS WERE AVAILABLE. LETTER STATED CONSUME R WILL BE RECEIVING NOTIFICATION IN 3RD QUARTER. NO LETTER. NO PARTS. OWNER UPSET. *AK
VEHICLE IS CONTINUALLY OUT OF ALIGNMENT RESULTING IN PREMATURE WEAR OF THE TIRES.
