WHEN ACCELERATING IT FEELS LIKE THE TRUCK GOES OUT OF GEAR. THE MOTOR REVS UP,BUT DOES NOT ENGAGE IN GEAR. WHEN TAKING OFF FROM A STOP THE TRUCKS STAYS IN LOWER GEAR UNTIL DRIVER LETS OFF THE GAS. THE DEALER IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. THE TRUCK IS BEING CHECKED BY DEALER FOR THE FORTH TIME. *AK
FUSE FOR RUNNING LIGHT CIRCUIT FAILED. *YC
WHEN APPLYING BRAKES DURING NORMAL BRAKING BRAKES LOCKED UP, CAUSING THE TRUCK TO SLIDE. DRIVER HAS LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE MANY TIMES. THIS HAS HAPPENED DURING INCLEMENT WEATHER ,AFTET THE TRUCK HAS SET FOR A WHILE. PROBLEM WAS REPORTED TO THE DEALER. DEALER STATED THAT PROBLEM WAS DUE TO THE REAR BRAKE SHOES AND NOT THE ABS. PROBLEM HAS NOT BEEN CORRECTED. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY FURTHER INFORMATION. *AK
WHEN TRAVELING 40 TO45 MPH AND WHEN ATTEMPTING TO ENTER ONTO THE PARKWAY, THE TRANSMISSION GAVE WAY, CAUSING NO DRIVE TO THE WHEELS , RESULTING IN THE VEHICLE COASTING TO A STOP. CONSUMER HAS CONTACTED THE DEALER. DEALER STATED THERE WAS AN INTERNAL PROBLEM. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY FURTHER DETAILS. *AK
RECEIVED RECALL NOTICE (#98V095000) FROM MANUFACTURER. IT WAS INFORMING OWNER NO LUGS: NUTS PARTS WERE AVAILABLE. 3RD QUARTER LETTER WILL BE SENT WHEN PARTS ARE AVAILABLE. HAS NOT RECEIVED LETTER AS OF YET. *AK
TIRES ON WET PAVEMENT LOSE CONTACT WITH THE ROAD EASILY AND START SLIPPING, WARRANTY CURRENT. 30 MPH SPEED DRIVEN WHEN INCIDENT OCCURRED. DEALER CANNOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. *AK
STEERING WHEEL WAS VERY LOOSE. STEERING SHAFT, SAID TO BE CAUSING THE PROBLEM, WAS REPLACED.
UNABLE TO HAVE LUG NUT RECALL REPAIR PERFOMRED DUE TO LACK OF PARTS. (98V-095)
WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE IN CENTER LANE AND OVERTAKING ANOTHER VEHICLE IN FRONT, CONSUMER DECIDED TO SWITCH LANES. WENT TO BLOW THE HORN, AND THERE WAS NO HORN. CONTACTED THE DEALER. *AK
LEAKING VALVE COVER GASKET AND GASKET AROUND SPARK PLUGS LEAKING ALLOWING OIL IN CYLINDER. REPAIRED LESS THAN ONE YEAR AGO AT 30,000 MILES. HAS REOCCURED AT 33000 MILES. DEFECTIVE PARTS? *TT
STEERING SHAFT FAILURE. ALSO, POWER DOOR LOCKS FAILED/ABS BRAKES MALFUNCTIONED, CAUSING BRAKES TO VIBRATE UPON BRAKING.
FRONT STEERING SYSTEM FELL FROM TRUCK CAUSING LOSS OF CONTROL AND A COLLISION.
CONSUMER BEEN EXPERIENCING INTERMITTENTLY/ONGOING PROBLEM WITH VEHICLE BRAKING SYSTEM. CONDITION OCCURRED WHEN ROAD CONDITIONS WERE EITHER DAMP/WET AND AT A RATE OF BELOW 30 MPH. BRAKES LOCKED UP, AND VEHICLE REAR ENDED SIDEWAYS. DEALER NOTIFIED, AND INFORMED CONSUMER THAT THE PROBLEM COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. *AK
NINETY PERCENT OF THE TIME I HAVE TO FORCE GEARSHIFT INTO 2ND GEAR. NOW, AFTER 11 MONTHS GOING INTO THIRD GEAR OCCASIONALLY GRINDS. THIS IS NOT ONLY VERY AGGRAVATING, BUT DANGEROUS AS WELL. CARS WITH AUTOMATICS HAVE TO SLOW DOWN SUDDENLY BECAUSE I'M TRYING TO GET INTO SECOND GEAR WITHOUT CLASHING THE GEARS ANYMORE THAN NECESSARY. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND OF COURSE THEY SAID ALL WAS WELL. I EVEN WENT THROUGH THE HASSLE OF GOING TO ANOTHER DEALER, DRIVING 2 MORE IDENTICAL TRUCKS, AND THEY DID THE EXACT SAME THING EXCEPT FOR THE 3RD GEAR PROBLEM. THE CLUTCH SEEMS TO BE OK, SO REALLY THE ONLY THING LEFT ARE THE SYNCHRONIZERS. PROBLEM DOESN'T SEEM TO BE CHANGED BY TEMPERATURE OR ANY OTHER OUTSIDE INFLUENCES.
FRONT WHEEL BEARING AND DRIVESHAFT FAILED WHILE DRIVING AT 60 MPH
POWER TRAIN CONTROL MODULE FAILED. YH
LUGS:NUTS:BOLTS SHEARED OFF, TIRE FELL OFF, VEHICLE LOST CONTROL, RESULTING IN A CRASH. VEHICLE WAS TOTALED.
DEALER WOULD NOT REPAIR TRUCKS DUAL PISTON CALIPERS/ WRONG PARTS ON TRUCK. *AK
EA98018, THE ORIGNAL FLOOR MATS SLIPPED THROUGH, PUSHING THE ACCLERATOR PEDAL WHICH MAY CAUSE AN ACCIDENT UNEXPECTEDLY.*AK CONSUMER STATED WHEN DRIVERS FLOOR MAT SLIPS FOWARD TOWARD THE FIREWALL, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WILL STICK AND PULL OPEN WHEN PRESSED TO FLOOR TO PASS ANOTHER VEHICLE.*JB
THE TORSION BAR IS PART OF THE SUSPENSION, AND IT BROKE WHILE MY TRUCK WAS PARKED IN MY GARAGE. I'M WORRIED THAT IF IT BROKE WHILE IT WAS PARKED, IT COULD BREAK AGAIN WHILE BEING DRIVEN. THE FORD DEALERSHIP ADMITTED TO ME THAT THEY HAD CHANGED SEVERAL OTHER BROKEN TORSION BARS, IN FACT WHEN I CALLED THEM TO REPORT THE PROBLEM, THEY NEW RIGHT AWAY WHAT PART HAD FAILED. THE PROBLEM I HAVE IS THEY REPLACED THE TORSION BAR WITH ANOTHER EXACT SAME TORSION BAR. I HAVE LITTLE CONFIDENCE IN THIS PART OR THE DEPENDABILITY OF MY $30,000.00 TRUCK.
SERPENTINE BELT BROKE CAUSING LOSS OF CONTROL WHILE DRIVING ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS.
THE DEALER HAS ADDRESSED THE BRAKE ISSUE BY TURNING ROTORS/DRUMS. 10,000 MILES LATER IM HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM, THERE SEEMS TO BE A PROBLEM WITH BRAKING EQUALIZATION FROM FRONT TO REAR. THE REAR BRAKES HAVE YET TO SHOW SIGNS OF WEAR. OVERALL THE VEHICLE IS RUNNING GOOD BUT IT APPEARS THE FEW ON GOING PROBLEMS ARE GOING TO COST ME AFTER WARRANTY IS OVER.*AK
VEHICLE WOULD STALLS ONLY DURING RAINY OR MISTY WEATHER CONDITION. VEHICLE BEEN INTO DEALER SHOP ON THREE OCCASIONS, AND THE THEY WERE UNABLE TO LOCATE CAUSE. FEEL FREE TO PROVIDE ANY FURTHER INFORMATION ON THIS MATTER.*AK

THE EXTENDED CAB WHERE BENCH SEATS ARE LOCATED, THE REAR WINDSHIELD LATCH POKES OUT WHEN GOING OVER BUMPY ROAD, CAUSING THE CHILD'S HEAD TO HIT THIS PART WHICH CAN CAUSE INJURIES. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER INFORMATION AND VIN#. *AK

SEAT BELT HOUSING ON DRIVER'S SIDE WILL NOT HOLD THE LATCH. *AK
RECALL 98V007000 CONCERNING THROTTLE ICING: DURING COLD WEATHER THE THROTTLE WOULD STICK OPEN WHILE DRIVING. THIS PROBLEM WAS DUE TO ICING FORMED ON THE THROTTLE BODY. THIS COULD CAUSE EXTENDED STOPPING DISTANCE WHEN BRAKING. DEALER WAS CONTACTED, AND INFORMED CONSUMER THAT THIS VEHICLE WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THE RECALL.*AK. ALSO, TORQUE CONVERTER FAILED.*AK

DRIVER'S FLOOR MAT CONTINUALLY HUNG UP THROTTLE PEDAL CAUSING THROTTLE PEDAL TO STICK.

DEFECT IN ENGINE BLOCK, POSSIBLY CRACK OR DEFECTIVE GASKET. ENGINE OIL IS LEAKING ONTO HOT ENGINE.
CONSUMER EXPERIENCING ONGOING PROBLEM WITH VEHICLE ABS BRAKING SYSTEM DURING WET WEATHER. VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN/OUT OF DEALER SHOP ON THREE OCCASIONS, AND PROBLEM CANNOT SOLVED. DEALER INFORMED CONSUMER THAT THEY CANNOT FIND THE PROBLEM. *AK
AIR BAG IMPACT SENSOR LIGHT IS ALWAYS ILLUMINATING. ALSO, SPEEDOMETER FAILED.
THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL GOT STUCK ON THEFORWARD EDGE OF THE FLOOR MAT, CAUSING THE ENGINE TO STAY AT HIGH RPM. DRIVER PUT CAR IN NEUTRAL AND PULLED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD TO AVOID CRASH. THE DEALER HAS BEEN NOTIFIED. *AK
THE DRIVER SIDE FRONT TORSION BAR BROKE WHILE DRIVING, CAUSING THE FRONT END TO FALL, AND ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. DEALER STATED THERE IS A NATIONAL BACK ORDER ON THE TORSION BAR. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER INFORMATION. *AK
WATER LEAKS INTO VEHICLE CAUSING ELECTRICAL FAILURE AND STALLING.
DRIVING 55-60MPH & VEHICLE HIT SMALL PUDDLE. VEHICLE SHIFTED TO LEFT & THEN RIGHT, JERKING ABRUPTLY, BEFORE DRIVER REGAINED CONTROL. TOOK VEHICLE TO MECHANIC & WAS UNABLE TO LOCATE THE CAUSE OF THE MECHANICAL PROBLEM.
ONGOING / INTERMITTENT PROBLEM WHEN APPLYING BRAKES IN A SUDDEN STOP / EMERGENCY SITUATION, IT CAUSES REAR WHEELS TO LOCK UP. VEHICLE BEEN IN DEALER SHOP ON TWO OCCASIONS, AND PROBLEM STILL REOCCURRING. PLEASE FEEL FREE TO PROVIDE ANY FURTHER DETAILS ON THIS MATTER. *AK

ANTI-THEFT ALARM BOX FAILURE. *YC
WHEN DRIVING UNDER 20 MPH, VEHICLE ACCELERATED BY ITSELF AND IT ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. *AK
TWO MONTHS AFTER I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE, I NOTICED WHEN ON ICY, SNOWY, OR SIMILAR SLIPPERY SURFACES, THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKING SYSTEM "LOCKED-UP" AND DID NOT "ANTI-LOCK" AS DESIGNED. THIS IS EVIDENCED BY MY REAR-END SLIDING AROUND SIDEWAYS AND NO REVERSE BRAKE PETAL PRESSURE. I HAD PREVIOUSLY OWNED A VEHICLE THAT HAD ANTI-LOCK BRAKES AND THE BRAKE PETAL WOULD PUSH AGAINST MY FOOT AND MAKE A VIBRATING NOISE WHEN ACTIVATED. THIS DOES NOT OCCUR ON THIS VEHICLE. ALSO, WHEN THE VEHICLE IS COLD, ALL FOUR BRAKES WILL LOCK UP WHEN ANY PETAL PRESSURE IS APPLIED--ESPECIALLY AT LOW SPEEDS SUCH AS PULLING OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY OR OUT OF A PARKING LOT. THIS WAS BROUGHT TO THE ATTENTION OF THE FORD DEALER NEAREST MY RESIDENCE (NOT THE DEALER I ORIGINALLY PURCHASED THE TRUCK) ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS. THE FIRST TIME I TOOK IT IN WAS AT MY 30,000 MILE CHECK-UP ABOUT 10 MONTHS AFTER I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE (AUGUST 27, 1998). THEY CHECKED BRAKES AND NOTED ON THE SERVICE INVOICE "COULD NOT VERIFY." THE SECOND TIME I TOOK IT IN WAS ABOUT 7 MONTHS LATER (MARCH 8, 1999) AFTER THE WINTER SEASON WAS OVER AND HAD THEM CHECK THE SYSTEM AND NO SERVICE WAS NOTED OR PERFORMED. I TOOK AT FACE VALUE THAT WHEN THEY SAID NOTHING WAS WRONG THAT THERE WASN'T ANYTHING WRONG. HOWEVER, ANTI-LOCK BRAKES ARE NOT SOMETHING THAT YOU CAN CHECK YEAR ROUND BUT RATHER ONLY WHEN THE PAVEMENT IS SLIPPERY. THEY SAID THEY CHECKED THEM BY PUTTING HEAVY PRESSURE ON THE BRAKES AND THEN PRESSING THE GAS PEDAL AND RULED OUT FAILURE OF THE ABS. I AM HERE TO TELL YOU THAT EVEN TODAY, THEY STILL LOCK-UP AND DO NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY. I CAN SEND YOU PHOTOCOPIES OF THE SERVICE INVOICES IF NEEDED. *AK
