NOISE IN THE ENGINE DUE TO WORN IDLER PULLEY, BELT AND ALTERNATOR. *MJS
VEHICLE REAR ENDED ANOTHER VEHICLE AT 10 MPH, CAUSING BOTH AIR BAGS TO DEPLOY. DEALER/MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED AT THIS TIME.*AK *YH
FRONT WINDSHIELD-THE WINDSHIELD WOULD RATTLE GOING DOWN THE FREEWAY EVERYTIME WE WOULD BE IN THE TRUCK. TOOK IT IN TO ADVISE THE DEALERSHIP AND ALL THEY DID WAS RESEAL IT. TOOK IT IN AGAIN THE SECOND TIME AND THEY DID THE SAME THING. AFTER THE THIRD TIME I MADE THEM PUT IN A NEW WINDSHIELD. 2 WEEKS AGO THIS CRACKED IN HALF. ALSO THE TRANSMISSION WAS SLIPPING. THEY REPLACED IT WITH A NEW ONE. ALSO THE REAR END WAS LEAKING. *AK
FIRESTONE WILDERNESS HT TIRES BLEW OUT 3 TIMES. THEY WERE REPLACED WITH THE SAME KIND OF TIRE EACH TIME. LAST TIME CONSUMER CHANGED TO GOODYEAR . THEY WERE THE ORIGINALS P235/70R16 TIRES. VEHICLE WAS A 1999, FORD, F150. *AK *SLC
WHILE STANDING AT A RED LIGHT BOTH FRONT AIR BAGS DEPLOYED SUDDENLY WITHOUT AN ACCIDENT, NOR REAR ENDED JUST DEPLOYED.AK
MY BRAKING PROBLEM HAS OCCURRED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. THE FIRST WAS 2/26/2000, ALSO 3/1/2000, 7/13/2000,12/6/2000, 2/2/2001, 4/19/2001,. THE PROBLEM SEEMS TO BE THE BRAKES PULSATE WHEN BRAKING. BUT MOSTLY THEY LOCK UP, AND ALSO THEY WILL SOMETIMES NOT WORK FOR A SECOND OR TWO THEN THEY WILL LOCK UP. THIS HAS OCCURED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS, ALMOST RESULTING IN ACCIDENTS.ANY HELP WILL BE APPRECIATED. DALE F. ZIEGELHOFER.*AK

MASTER CYLINDER HAD TO BE REPLACED AFTER GOING OUT TWICE/ABS LIGHT STAYED ON CONSTANTLY. DEALER FIXED BRAKES TWICE. ALSO, REAR BRAKE LINE FAILED, AND CONSUMER HAD NO BRAKES. HAD TO USE EMERGENCY BRAKES. ALSO, WHEN TRUCK WAS SIX MONTHS OLD REAR AXLE BROKE. *AK
THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED TO HIGHER SPEED WHILE ON CRUISE CONTROL DUE TO DEFECTIVE SPEED CONTROL ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY. YH
WHILE TRAVELING ON THE HIGHWAY AT 70 MPH DRIVESHAFT BROKE IN HALF. THIS COULD HAVE LED TO A VEHICLE COLLISION. DEALER NOTIFIED, WILL NOT WARRANTY THE DRIVE SHAFT BECAUSE OF MODIFICATIONS MADE TO IT. *AK *ML
THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED TO 70 MPH AND WOULD NOT DECELERATE, BRAKES WOULD NOT WORK AND WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS PUT INTO NEUTRAL, THE RPMS INCREASED TO 3000, THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTED HEAVILY AND VEHICLE BEGAN TO RUN NORMALLY, ON ONE OCCASION THE CONSUMER HAD TO SHUT THE VEHICLE COMPLETELY OFF. *SLC
RECALL 99VO39000/FMVSS 301. RECALL NOTICE RECEIVED, BUT DEALER WAS UNABLE TO HONOR RECALL BECAUSE OF THE TRAILER HITCHES. MANUFACTURER INFORMED CONSUMER THAT THEY WILL NOT DO RECALL REPAIRS BECAUSE OF THE TRAILER HITCHES.*AK
POSSIBLE ENGINE FAILURE CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO CATCH FIRE IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. VEHICLE WAS ONLY 10 MONTHS OLD WHEN FIRE OCCURED. NLM
WINDSHIELD WIPERS JUST ARBITRARILY COMING ON. IT'S BEEN A PROBLEM EVER SINCE WE BOUGHT OUR 1999 F150 BUT WAS MUCH MORE SPORADIC THAN IT IS NOW. NOW IT JUST SEEMS LIKE THE WIPERS HAVE A MIND OF THEIR OWN AND KEEP COMING ON. IT IS GETTING QUITE ANNOYING.*JB
I HAVE HAD MY F150 FOR 7 YEARS AND HAVE HAD VERY FEW PROBLEMS. BAD FUEL INJECTOR AND THE RECALL FOR THE CRUISE CONTROL. I HAVE BEEN HAVING TROUBLE WITH MY WIPERS COMING ON BY THEMSELVES. I CALLED MY LOCAL FORD DEALER (COLUMBIA FORD, LONGVIEW,WA) AND THEY SAID THEY HAD NOT SEEN THIS PROBLEM BEFORE. I DID A LITTLE RESEARCH ON THE WEB AND FOUND YOUR TSB 00-9-6 WHICH DESCRIBES THIS PROBLEM TO A TEE. I CALLED THE DEALER BACK AND WAS ADVISED I WOULD HAVE TO ABSORB THE ENTIRE COST FOR THE REPAIR? SINCE THEY HAVE KNOWN ABOUT THIS PROBLEM SINCE 2000 AND DID NOT RECALL FOR THIS BAD SWITCH (SEE YOUR TSB) "INSTALL REVISED MULTI-FUNCTION SWITCH" DO I HAVE ANY RECOURSE IN THIS MATTER. LIKE THE CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH RECALLED LAST YEAR IS THERE A CHANCE OF FIRE? IT CAN BE DISCONCERTING TO BE DRIVING ALONG IN 90 DEGREE WEATHER AND HAVE YOUR WIPERS TURN ON BY THEMSELVES. I HAVE FOUND MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS AT A NUMBER OF CAR SITE IT'S BEING CALLED "GHOST WIPERS" THE ABOVE LISTED TSB WAS ISSUED IN 2000 BUT OWNERS WERE NOT NOTIFIED. I BELIEVE THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN RECALLED WHEN FOUND. THIS MAY HAVE BEEN GOING ON FOR THE PAST 6 YEARS, THE WIPERS TURN ON ONCE AND YOU THINK MAYBE YOU HIT THE SWITCH ON THE STEERING WHEEL BY ACCIDENT. *JB
1999 FORD F-150 EXTERIOR REARVIEW MIRRORS ARE EXTREMELY FADED SO THEY ARE BASICALLY USELESS. THESE ARE THE MIRRORS WITH TURN SIGNALS INSIDE THE GLASS. FORD SAYS THERE ARE NO RECALLS AND NO PROBLEM EXISTS. THEY ARE A SAFETY HAZARD. *JB
TIRE CABLE JACK BROKE TWICE, ALLOWING TIRE TO FALL OUT ONTO STREET. FORD HAS DEVICE TO KEEP DRIVER FROM OVER TIGHTNING, TO KEEP STRESS OFF CABLE. BUT IT DOES NOT WORK. *AK
WHEN BRAKES WERE APPLIED AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS IN A PANIC STOP VEHICLE EXPERIENCED EXTENDED STOPPING DISTANCE. DEALER WAS NOT ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM.*AK
WHEN TRUCK CRASHED INTO THE PASSENGER'S SIDE REAR QUARTER PANEL OF ANOTHER VEHICLE, TRAVELING 27-30 MPH , THERE WAS NO DEPLOYMENT OF THE FRONTAL AIR BAGS. THE ENGINE WAS PUSHED BACK AGAINST THE FIRE WALL, THE FRAME WAS BENT. THE WHOLE FRONT WAS TOTALED . TRUCK IS NOT DRIVEABLE. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY FURTHER INFORMATION. *AK
I WAS STRUCK HED ON BY A VEHICLE THAT WAS TRAVELING AT 50+MPH AND NEITHER OF MY AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. *AK
REAR SLIDING WINDOW DEVELOPED LEAK. A FRIEND HAS A 1998 MODEL WITH SAME PROBLEM. HE HAS HAD THE SEAL REPLACED 4 TIMES. *AK
WHILE APPLYING THE BRAKES, VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED, RESULTING IN A COLLISION. DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WILL BE NOTIFIED. DEALER HAS INSPECTED VEHICLE AND FOUND NOTHING WRONG. ALSO THE WIPERS WORK INTERMITTENTLY, WINDOWS WILL NOT GO UP OR DOWN, AND DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS DO NOT TURN ON. *AK *YC
THIS VEHICLE HAS A TERRIBLE TRANSMISSION PROBLEM - THE 2ND TO 3RD SHIFT, AND THE 3RD TO 2ND SHIFT ARE ROUGH AND SLOWLY TEAR THE TRANSMISSION APART. MINE HAS BEEN REPAIRED 4 TIMES AND IS STILL SUFFERING FROM POOR SHIFTS AND UNDEPENDABILITY. THE ENGINE HAD A VERY SEVERE KNOCK WHEN FIRST STARTED - THE ENGINE WAS REPLACED AT 14,500 MILES WITH A REMANUFACTURED UNIT. THIS VEHICLE HAS HAD 2 TRANSMISSION REBUILDS, ONE TRANSMISSION REPLACEMENT AND A REMANUFACTURED ENGINE AND THE VEHICLE ONLY HAS 14,900 MILES ON THE ODOMETER! *AK
FOR NORMAL BRAKING ANTI LOCK BRAKES WILL STOP, BUT FOR PANIC BRAKING THEY WILL NOT STOP AND THEY LOCK UP INTERMITTENTLY, THE COMPUTER SHOWS NO CODES SO THE DEALER IS UNSURE HOW OR WHAT TO REPAIR.*ET
WHILE DRIVING IN NEIGHBORHOOD A VEHICLE IN FRONT OF PASSENGER'S VEHICLE PASSED THE LIGHT ON THE LEFT HAND SIDE, AND ANOTHER VEHICLE WENT THROUGH A RED LIGHT, AND CRASHED INTO THE OTHER CAR IN FRONT OF CONSUMER. UPON IMPACT, NEITHER AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. *AK
TENVOORDE IS NOT WILLING TO REPLACE THE TIRE UNDER WARRENTY AND I TALKED WITH AN ATTORNEY HE SAID THAT I SHOULD GET A NEW TIRE FOR NO COST.
BRAKING SYSTEM MALFUNCTIONED, CAUSING BRAKE PEDAL TO GO TO THE FLOOR, WHICH RESULTED IN A CRASH. INSURANCE COMPANY STATED IT WAS MANUFACTURER'S DEFECT OF THE BRAKING SYSTEM. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER INFORMATION. *AK *YC
TRANSMISSION DROPPED INTO LOWER GEAR & STARTED TO SEVERELY JERK. ENGINE REVVED UP TO 5,000 RPMS. THE ROADS WERE SLIPPERY & WET CAUSING NO CONTROL OF VEHICLE. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALERSHIP & MECHANIC COULD NOT DUPLICATE PROBLEM. THE PROBLEM IS INTERMITTENT. *AK *YC
VEHICLE HAS BEEN EXPERIENCING ONGOING PROBLEM WITH FUSE BLOWING OUT WHENEVER TURN SIGNAL OR FOUR- WAY FLASHER IS USED. DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED AT THIS TIME. *AK
VEHICLE PURCHASED NEW. VEHICLE RETURNED TO DEALER 18 DAYS LATER DUE TO PROBLEMS. METALLIC RATTLING AND TINGING NOISE COMING FROM REAR ALONG WITH A FLUTTERING, WINDE UP NOISE COMING FROM DRIVE SHAFT. OTHER MINOR PROBLEMS INCLUDED WIND NOISE(FIXED ONCE BUT STILL THERE), CLUNKING IN TRANSMISSION(REPROGRAMMED) AND A VIBRATION FELT AT 40-50 MPH.DEALER FIRST REPLACED A COMPLETE DRIVE SHAFT , THEN A COMPLETE REAR AXLE ASSEMBLY WAS REPLACED. STILL HAVE VIBRATION WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE.
WHEN THE TRANSMISSION IS IN FIRST GEAR, THE ENGINE IS SHUTS OFF AND VEHICLE WILL ROLL. DEALER SAID THAT ENGINE BLEEDS OFF COMPRESSION WHICH ALLOWS VEHICLE TO ROLL WHEN IT IS SHUT OFF WHILE IN FIRST GEAR. *AK
MY 1999 FORD F150 EXTENDED CAB SHAKES WHEN DRIVING AT SPEEDS BETWEEN 40-45 MPH AND OCCASSIONALLY AT SPEEDS GREATER THEN 80 MPH. FRONT AND REAR ALIGNMENT NOR TIRE BALANCE/ROTATION CORRECTS PROBLEM. ANOTHER OWNER RELATED THIS IS DUE TO A DEFECT IN THE CHASSIS DUE TO DESIGN PROBLEMS WITH EXTENDED CAB. IS THEIR A CORRECTIVE ACTION FOR THIS VIBRATION?

TRAILER HITCH RECEIVER CAN NOW HAVE SAFEY TRIM FROM US PATENT 5,934,699-6,176,506 I CUT MY LEG , MY CHILD CUT HIS HAND ON RUSTING HITCH RECEIVER AND THE HITCH TORE UP A VEHCILE THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN PREVENTED IF THE UNIVERSAL SAFETY TRAILER HITCH COVER ASSEMBLY DESIGNED BOTH BOTH OEM AND AFTERMARKET WAS APPLIED. THE SAFETY TRIM IS SNAP-ON CONSUMER INSTALLED APPLIED TO THE EXTERIOR OF THE HITCH RECEIVER NOW A STANDARD ON OEM VEHICLES WITH 80 MILLION US TRUCK REGISTRATIONS THE ONLY HELP TO GET OEM'S TO COVER THIS ROUGH PEICE OF RUSTING STEEL IS WWW.BLUEOVALNEWS.COM. THE SAFETY TRAILER HITCH COVER ASSEMBLY IS NOT A OEM OR AFTERMARKET PRODUCT BUT A SAFETY DEVICE DESIGNED BY A CONSUMER. OEMS AR AVOIDING ANY ADDITIONAL COST FOR THIS TRIM EVEN THOUGH THE SAE SAFETY DEVICE DESIGN FITS THE BEST SELLING AFTERMARKET CLASS III HITCH AS WELL. WHILE DRIVING AT 25 MPH ANOTHER VEHICLE RAN A STOP SIGN AND RAN INTO CONSUMER'S PATH, CAUSING THE CONSUMER TO HIT THE VEHICLE IN FRONT . UPON IMPACT, DRIVER / PASSENGER'S SIDE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. BOTH DRIVER/PASSENGER SUSTAINED INJURIES. VEHICLE WAS TOTALED. *AK
TRUCK WAS UNSTABLE WITH CAUSE UNKNOWN BY DEALERSHIP. OWNER HAS TAKEN VEHICLE IN FOR CORRECTIVE ACTION SEVERAL TIMES, HOWEVER NOTHING HAS CHANGED. VEHICLE VIBRATES EXCESSIVELY WHEN AT IDLE WITH RPM GAUGE FLUCTUATING UP/DOWN. *AK CONSUMER STATES THAT THE ENGINE RUNS ROUGH, OIL LEVEL DROPPED AND THERE WAS A CLICKING NOISE IN WHICH THE DEALER REPLACED THE FAN BLADE AND FAN CLUTCH. REAR BRAKES EXPERIENCED GRINDING, DEALER APPLIED A SILENCER TO THE FRONT AND REAR BRAKE PADS. CONSUMER HAS EXPERIENCED SEVERAL PROBLEMS WITH THE A/C AND HEATER, PROBLEMS STILL EXISTS. VEHICLE USES A LOT OF GAS, IDLES ROUGH AND EXPERIENCES SMALL HESITATION UPON ACCELERATION. VEHICLE KICKS INTO GEAR. VEHICLE DRIFTS TO THE RIGHT, WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHER SPEEDS, VEHICLE AND STEERING WHEEL VIBRATE. DRIVER SIDE REAR VIEW MIRROR RATTLES WHEN CLOSING DOOR, WHEN EVERYTHING IS CLOSED THERE IS AN OUTSIDE NOISE, DEALER RESEALED THE WINDSHIELD. WHEN TURNING ON THE LIGHTS, THE CLOCK AND A/C ARE DELAYED. THERE IS A WHINING NOISE WHEN TURNING STEERING WHEEL. WINDOW CONTROL BUTTONS STICK AT TIMES, DEALER REPLACED THE WINDOW SWITCH. *SLC

WHILE DRIVING STOPPED AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT. CONSUMER PROCEEDED TO GO THROUGH THE TRAFFIC LIGHT AND THROTTLE GOT STUCK. CONSUMER REAR ENDED ANOTHER CAR. UPON IMPACT, AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. CONSUMER TOOK CAR TO DEALER ,AND DEALER SAID THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO. CONSUMER DOES NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING VEHICLE, AND DOES NOT WANT VEHICLE ANYMORE. *AK

BRAKES BEGAN TO GRAB, A TSB WAS ISSUED STATING THE BRAKE SHOES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, AFTER THIS REPAIR THE BRAKES STILL DID NOT PERFORM CORRECTLY AND THE DEALER CANNOT REMEDY THE PROBLEM. *SLC
THIS COULD CASUE DOOR TO BE WEAKER THAN IT SHOULD BE
FRONT BRAKE ROTORS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED 4 TIMES WHICH CAUSED BRAKING SYSTEM TO PULSATE, AND RESULTED IN EXTENDED STOPPING DISTANCE. DEALER COULD NOT DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM. *AK *ML
TRUCK WAS WASHED LEFT THE BUINESS WENT TO STOP AT INTERSECTION BRAKES FAILED SENDING ME IN TO THE MIDDLE OF INTERSECTION WITH CARS SKIDDING ALL AROUND ME
