WAS GOING 65MPH WHEN THE STEERING GOT REAL STIFF. WAS HARD TO TURN. HAD COME TO A STOP. UNABLE TO TURN STEERING TO TURN WHEELS. MASTER CLUTCH SLAVE CYLINDER HAD VERY LITTLE RESISTANCE ON THE CLUTCH WHEN THE PEDAL WAS PRESSED. WHEN THE VEHICLE IS COLD IT CAN HAPPEN. VEHICLE IS VERY DIFFICULT TO SHIFT INTO ANOTHER GEAR. WILL BE TAKING VEHICLE TO DEALER. *AK
WHILE AT A STOP SIGN THE REARVIEW MIRROR BLOCKS DRIVER' VIEW WHEN TURNING RIGHT OR LOOKING RIGHT IN TRAFFIC. THIS HAS CAUSED FOR A PEDISTRIAN TO ALMOST BE HIT. DEALER SAID THE RE WAS NO WARRANTY, AND WOULD HAVE TO TAKE VEHICLE TO A GLASS SHOP. *AK
WHILE DRIVING ON A CITY STREET JUST TURNING A CORNER WHILE PULLING A TRAILER AT APPROXIMATELY 20MPH, LIGHT CHANGED, DRIVER HIT BRAKES ABOUT TO TAKE OFF, ANOTHER VEHICLE HIT CONSUMER ON THE RIGHT FRONT FENDER. UPON IMPACT, NEITHER AIRBAG DEPLOYED. BUT WHEN CONSUMER WENT TO MOVE VEHICLE, THEN DRIVER'S SIDE AIRBAG DEPLOYED, BURNING CONSUMER'S FINGERS.CONTACTED THE DEALER. *AK
DRIVESHAFT WAS NOT BALANCED WHICH CAUSED VIBRATION, THE VIBRATION CAUSED THE SEAL TO FAIL RESULTING IN LOSS OF FLUID AND TRANSMISSION FAILURE.
THE TRUCK VIBRATES AT 36 TO 44 MPH. VIBRATION IS WORSE AT 41-42 MPH. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN RETURNED TO THE DEALER THREE TIMES. I HAVE CONTACTED DAVID WRIGHTSMAN, FIELD SERVICE ENGINEER, FORD CUSTOMER DIVISION, ATLANTA REGIONAL OFFICE. HE HAS DRIVEN THE TRUCK AND STATES THAT CORRECTING VIBRATIONS IN THE F150 SERIES IS A "BLACK ART". FORD HAS A BULLETIN OUT ON VIBRATIONS. SERVICE BULLETIN 99-11-1, NHTSA ITEM NUMBER: SB606433. I HAVE FOUND OUT THAT THIS PROBLEM HAS EXISITED FOR SOME TIME. MY CONCERN IS THAT THE VIBRATION IS WEARING ON UNKNOWN COMPONENTS OF THE TRUCK AND WILL CAUSE A FAILURE AT AN UNPREDICTABLE TIME. THE TIRES ARE IN BALANCE AND RUN TRUE AND ARE NOT THE CAUSE. MY DEALER HAS SAID THEY WILL CALL ME IF THEY COME UP WITH A SOLUTION
WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY 60MPH THERE WERE TWO CARS AHEAD BEING TOWED WITH NO LIGHTS ON. CONSUMER DIDN'T SEE THEM, AND STRUCK THEM FROM BEHIND. NEITHER AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. CONTACT DEALER FOR REPAIRS. PARKED IN FRONT OF THE TRAILER, THOUGHT THE PARK LEVER WAS UP, BUT IT WAS IN NEUTRAL WITH HAND BRAKES ON VEHICLE ROLLED FORWARDS, AND HIT THE TRAILER, CAUSE AIRBAGS TO DEPLOY. *AK
VEHICLE STALLS FOR NO REASON INTERMITTENTLY, DEALER CHANGED FUEL, BUT THAT FAILED TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. *AK
PASSENGER'S SIDE DOOR CAN BE OPENED AFTER VEHICLE'S DOORS ARE LOCKED WHILE DRIVING. WILL BE TAKING VEHICLE TO DEALER TO HAVE IT CHECKED OUT. *AK
THE VEHICLE ACCELERATOR STUCK WHEN PASSING ANOTHER VEHICLE, CAUSING VEHICLE TO SWERVE WHICH COULD HAVE RESULTED IN COLLISION. *YC
VEHICLE STALLS INTERMITTENTLY IN ANY GIVEN SPEED. VEHICLE BEEN IN/OUT OF DEALER'S SHOP ON FOUR OCCASIONS, AND PROBLEM STILL REOCCURRING. *AK *ML
AS CONSUMER RESTED ARM ON DOOR AND PUT THE VEHICLE INTO DRIVE, THE AUTOMATIC DOOR LOCKS LOCKED PULLING THE SKIN OF ARM INTO THE DOOR CAUSING A BLOOD BLISTER. NLM
VEHICLE PULLS A 5500LBS TRAILER: WHENEVER SLOWING DOWN TO MAKE A TURN ON AN INCLINE, SHIFTING FROM SECOND TO FIRST GEAR, VEHICLE WILL SHUTTER AND JERK VIOLENTLY.ALSO, REAR END VIRBRATES WHEN TAKING OFF FROM A STOP. IF TRAVELING 70MPH AND ABOVE, ENTIRE VEHICLE SHAKES. CONTACTED THE DEALER, AND THEY CAN'T FIX IT. *AK
WHILE TRAVELING 55 VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A COLLISION. UPON IMPACT, AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY, CAUSING INJURY TO CONSUMER. *AK
WHILE DRIVING AT 60 MPH REAR AXLE CAME OFF. *AK
DT: THE BRAKES LINES UNDER THE HOOD RUSTED, AND THEY BLEW OUT. TOOK VERY GOOD CARE OF THE VEHICLE. IT JUST LET GO, AND THERE WERE NO BRAKES, USED THE EMERGENCY BRAKE TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THIS HAPPENED ON JULY 25,2005. THERE WAS NO WARNING, THEY WERE STEEL LINES . THEY BLEW OUT RIGHT BESIDE THE BOX THAT CONTROLLED THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKES. THE VEHICLE WAS AT THE DEALERS , AND THEY SAID IT WAS DUE TO CORROSION. ALSO, THEY ALSO SAY THEY NEEDED TO REPLACE ALL THE BRAKE LINES.*AK
WAS TRAVELING APPROXIMATELY 15MPH & RAN RED LIGHT. HIT ANOTHER VEHICLE ON RIGHT SIDE. CHECKED OTHER VEHICLE & RETURNED. STARTED TO MOVE F150 & WAS TURNING STEERING WHEEL. AIR BAG POPPED (PUFFED) OUT, ON FIRE, & FELL INTO DRIVER'S LAP. DID NOT EXPLODED LIKE IT WAS SUPPOSE TO DO. MJS
WHEN DRIVING AT ANY SPEED AND APPLYING THE BRAKES, ABS SYSTEM KICKS IN WHICH CAUSES THE VEHICLE TO SKID. ALSO, BOTH SIDES OF THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD ENGINE BOLTS ARE LOOSE, AND THERE IS A LEAKAGE WHICH CAUSES FUMES TO ENTER VEHICLE. *AK *ML
WHEN THE BRAKES ARE APPLIED TRUCK SLIDES AND TURNS SIDEWAYS.DEALER WAS CONTACTED, AND HAS YET TO FIX THE PROBLEM. *AK
ONGOING/INTERMITTENT PROBLEM WITH BRAKES MAKING UNNECESSARY SQUEALING NOISE WHEN BRAKES WERE APPLIED. VEHICLE BEEN IN/OUT OF DEALER SHOP ON THREE OCCASIONS, AND PROBLEM IS STILL UNRESOLVED. *AK
THIS PROBLEM RELATES TO A BOLT THAT HOLDS THE LOWER CONTROL ARM ASSEMBLY TO THE FRAME OF THE PICKUP. THE BOLT IS CONTINOUSLY MOVING IN THE HOLE AND IS WEARING A GROVE IN THE SIDE OF THE BOLT. FORD HAS DENIED COVERAGE FOR ALIGNMENT PROBLEMS WHICH I LATER DISCOVERED TO BE THE RESULT OF THIS BOLT THAT MOVES IN THE FRAME. THE DEALER SOLUTION HAS BEEN SO FAR TO RE ALIGN VEHICLE, BUT THIS HAS BEEN ONLY A TEMPORARY FIX. MY CONCERN IS THAT THE BOLT WILL CATASTROPHICALLY FAIL UNDER STRESS AND ALLOW THE LOWER CONTROL ARM TO DETACH FROM THE FRAME.
ONGOING PROBLEM WITH SEATBACK FAILING TO LOCK IN PLACE. BACK WOULD NOT STAY UP. VEHICLE BEEN IN DEALER SHOP ON FOUR OCCASIONS, AND PROBLEM IS STILL UNRESOLVED. *AK
THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES AND IS NOT CORRECTABLE PER FORD
SINCE BUYING THE VEHICLE NEW FROM MY LOCAL FORD DEALER I'VE NOTICE THAT THERE IS VERY EXCESSIVE TRAVEL IN THE BRAKE PEDAL AND AN AIR NOISE WHEN I APPLY THE BRAKES. WHEN I TOOK IT IN TO CHECK IT OUT I WAS TOLD THAT THE BRAKES NEEDED TO BE BLED. WHEN THIS WOULDN'T FIX THE PROBLEM I WAS TOLD MY FLUID WAS CONTAMINATED AND I WOULD NEED A FLUID FLUSH. THIS ALSO DIDN'T SOLVE THE PROBLEM. A FEW YEARS AFTER THE WARRANTY PERIOD WAS UP I WAS TOLD THAT THIS HAPPENS TO FORD TRUCK A LOT AND I WOULD NEED TO REPLACE A PART THAT WAS OVER $800.00 FOR PARTS AND LABOR. I DECLINED THIS WORK STATING IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN COVERED UNDER WARRANTY ON MY PREVIOUS VISITS THAT WERE ALL DOCUMENTED. SINCE THEN THEY ARE BACK TO THE SYSTEM BLEED AND FLUID FLUSH ROUTINE EVERY TIME I MENTION THE ISSUE. TODAY I READ THAT NEWER TRUCKS ARE HAVING BRAKE ISSUES AND I BELIEVE THIS IS NOT JUST A NEWER TRUCK ISSUE BUT HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR QUITE SOME TIME.
THE CONSUMER STATE'S WHILE DRIVING AT 50 MPH, ANOTHER VEHICLE PULLED OUT IN FRONT OF THE CONSUMER VEHICLE AND THE CONSUMER APPLY THE BRAKE'S, AND THE CONSUMER DRIVER SIDE AIR BAG AND THE PASSAGER SIDE AIR BAG DEPLOY AND THE CONSUMER NEVER HIT THE OTHER VEHICLE.
WHILE DRIVING AT 40 MP, ANOTHER VEHICLE TURNED IN FRONT OF CONSUMER'S VEHICLE AND WAS REAR ENDED. UPON IMPACT, DRIVER'S SIDE AND PASSAGER'S SIDE AIR BAGS DIDN'T DEPLOY. *AK
OIL IS LEAKING FROM THE REAR SEALS OF THE ENGINE WHICH COULD CAUSE THE ENGINE TO LOCK UP, CAUSE UNKNOWN. PLEASE GIVE ANY FURTHER DETAILS.
LOST CONTROL OF VEHICLE WHILE DRIVING 45-50MPH ON RAIN SLICK ROADS. VEHICLE HIT A POLE, HEAD ON, ON SIDE OF ROAD & NEITHER AIR BAGS DEPLOYED UPON IMPACT. DRIVER HIT HEAD ON STEERING WHEEL. HAD EMERGENCY TREATMENT. *AK
WHEN BRAKES WERE APPLIED IN WET ROAD CONDITIONS, THEY CAUSED THE BACK WHEELS TO LOCK UP INTERMITTENTLY. VEHICLE BEEN IN/OUT OF DEALER SHOP ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, AND PROBLEM STILL OCCURRING. *AK *ML
WAS TRAVELING 50-60 MPHN WHEN ANOTHER VEHICLE RAN A STOP SIGN. FORD HIT THE LEFT REAR OF THE OTHER VEHICLE. UPON IMPACT, THE DRIVER'S AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY. *AK
CONSUMER WAS IN A HEAD-ON ACCIDENT AT 50 MPH. AND NEITHER ONE OF THE AIR BAG DEPLOYED. DEALER HAS NOT BEEN CONTACTED. *AK
SHOULDER BELTS BROKE OFF FROM ANCHOR AND ATTACHMENTS THAT HOOK UP THE SHOULDER BELTS. THE DEALER HAS BEEN AWARE OF PROBLEM. *AK
THE DRIVER SMELLS BURNING OIL DUE TO THE RIGHT REAR CYLINDER HEAD LEAKING. YH
I LIKE THE TRUCK BUT IF FORD DOES NOT FIX THIS I WONT BUY ANOTHER ONE AND I AM ONLY 21YRS OLD
WHENEVER VEHICLE TAKES OFF FROM STOP SIGN OR LIGHT, IT WOULD SHIFT ON ITS OWN INTO EITHER 1ST/2ND OR 3RD GEARS. THEN IT WOULD DROP BACK TO 1ST GEAR & COME TO SCREECHING HALT. DRIVER IS SLAMMED INTO WINDSHIELD WHEN THIS HAPPENS. ITS AN INTERMITTENT PROBLEM. AT DEALERSHIP & MECHANIC CAN NOT LOCATE CAUSE OF PROBLEM. *AK
THE ENGINE IS TERRIBLY NOISY AT ALL SPEEDS, COMING FROM VALVE TRAIN. THE TRUCK ALSO HAS NO APPRECIABLE POWER, THEY RATE AT 205 HP, BUT I SINCERELY DISPUTE THAT RATING ON MY TRUCK, W/ AIR CONDITIONING OPERATING, IT'S EVEN WORSE! GAS MILEAGE WITH AIR CONDITIONING ON IS TERRIBLE! A PLYMOUTH HORIZON WAS ABLE TO OUTPACE ME ON THE HIGHWAY! *AK
SOMETIMES WHEN I FIRST GO DOWN THE DRIVEWAY IN THE MORN. MY BRAKES WILL LOCK UP AND THERE WILL BE NO ABS. THEN THEY WILL LOCK UP FOR ABOUT A MILE OR SO AT EACH STOP SIGN THEN AFTER THAT THEY ARE OK.
WHILE DRIVING CONSUMER HITTIRE ON THE REAR OF A TRACTOR, VEHICLE BOUNCED AWAY, AND AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY. *AK
WHEN STEPPING ON THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL THE VEHICLE JERKS, UNTIL CONSUMER IS TRAVELING OVER 50 MPH. VEHICLE HAS BEEN SERVICED FOR THIS PROBLEM THREE TIMES. DEALER REPLACED THE TORQUE CONVERTER CLUTCH, WHICH MADE THE PROBLEM WORSE. THE MANUFACTURER IS AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM, BUT STATED THAT THERE IS NO SOLUTION TO THIS PROBLEM ATTHIS TIME. *AK
WHEN HITTING SMALL PAVEMENT IRREGULARITIES VEHICLE WANDERED ALL OVER THE ROAD. ALSO, CONSUMER COULD SEE WHERE THE BOLT ON THE LOWER CONTROL ARM HAS MOVED. DEALER WAS AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM, BUT DID NOT HAVE A SOLUTION. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY FURTHER INFORMATION.*AK
CONSUMER WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35-45 MPH WHEN ANOTHER VEHICLE PULLED OUT. CONSUMER SWERVED/LOST CONTROL AND RAN INTO A YARD, HITTING A BIG TREE. SHOULDER SEAT BELT STRAP DID NOT LOCK. CONSUMER'S CHEST HIT STEERING AS STEERING WHEEL BROKE DOWN AND WENT INTO THE DASHBOARD. CONSUMER'S HEAD HIT THE WINDSHIELD AND CRACKED IT. PICTURES ARE AVAILABLE. AK
ON THE SAME DAY THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED BRAND NEW, THE FIRESTONE WILDERNESS AT 16" TIRES EXPERIENCES TREAD SEPARATION. *SLC
WINDSHIELD WIPERS COME ON UNEXPECTEDLY, ESPECIALLY DURING OR FOLLOWING TURNS CAUSING A MAJOR DISTRACTION. THE TRANSMISSION "COASTS" DURING DECELERATION. WHEN POWER IS APPLIED AFTER THAT THE TRANSMISSION SEEMS TO SLIP BACK INTO GEAR, CAUSING THE TRUCK TO JERK. *AK
DASH LIGHTS DON'T ALWAYS WORK MILEAGE LIGHT MOSTLY. *NM
FRONT SHOCKS BOLT GETTING LOOSE AND THERE IS A KNOCKING NOISE COMING FROM THE VEHICLE. *AK
VEHICLE WAS SETTING FOR FIVE MINUTES AND ENGINE COMPARTMENT CAUGHT ON FIRE. VEHICLE WAS TOTALED. MANUFACTURER HAS BEEN NOTIFIED. *AK
THE PASSENGER SEAT BELT DOES NOT RETRACT BACK, WHICH IS DANGEROUS BECAUSE THE PASSENGER CAN HIT THE WINDSHIELD IN AN ACCIDENT. MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED BY CONSUMER.*AK
WHILE DRIVING ABOUT 20 MPH, STEPPED ON BRAKE PEDAL TO STOP VEHICLE, BUT THE BRAKES LOCKED UP, CAUSING THE BED OF VEHICLE TO BOUNCE. ALSO, AT TIMES HEARD A LOUD NOISE FROM TIRES. *AK
WAS DRIVING MY FORD ON THE FREEWAY WHEN I HEARD A LOUD NOISE, I STOPPED NEARBY TOOK A LOOK AT IT FOUND THE SPARK PLUG HAD BEEN BLOWN OUT, CALLED FORD THE SAID THEY COULD FIX IT FOR 2200! *TR
THE HORN IS TOO HARD TO ACTIVATE. WHEN YOU MUST NEED IT IN AN EMERGENCY- MOST TIMES I CANT GET IT TO WORK ....THE AREA YOU HAVCE TO PUSH IS TOO SMALL AND MUST BE PUSHED TOO HARD- ITS JUST TOO HARD TO ACTIVATE WHEN YOU NEED TO.
WHILE DRIVING AT 10 MPH AND PULLING INTO THE DRIVEWAY STEERING STARTED WORKING INTERMITTENTLY, AND THE CONSUMER COULD'NT TURN THE STEERING WHEEL THE WAY HE WAS TURNING. *AK
