THIS IS A VEHICLE WITH A 5 SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION. ALSO HAS CRUISE CONTROL. WHEN USING CRUISE CONTROL IT DOES NOT DISENGAGE, CAUSING ENGINE TO RACE. DEALER HAS BEEN CONTACTED. *AK
WHILE DRIVING, DRIVER'S SIDE/ ASSENGER'S SIDE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED UNEXPECTEDLY . IN ADDITION, PASSENGER'S SIDE AIRBAG DEPLOYED WITH THE MANUFACTURER'S INSTALLED ON/OFF SWITCH TURNED IN THE OFF POSITION. DEALER WILL NOT REPAIR THE VEHICLE. MANUFACTURER HAS BEEN NOTIFIED. *AK
VEHICLE VIBRATES AT 40-45 MPH, EIGHT REPAIR ATTEMPTS, HOWEVER CONTINUES TO EXPERIENCE VIBRATION. MJS
RON CAMPBELL FORD REPLACED DRIVER DOOR BECAUSE OF CRACK
CLUTCH DOES NOT ENGAGE PROPERLY WITH THE APPLICATION OF THE CLUTCH PEDAL. THE CLUTCH CAN BE PRESSED, BUT WILL NOT ENGAGE WHICH CAUSES THE VEHICLE TO JUMP FORWARD. DEALER CAN'T FIND SOLUTION. *AK
THE TIRES ON THIS VEHICLE ARE TOO SMALL. IT HAS PASSENGER CAR TIRES AND NOT SMALL TRUCK TIRES, THIS HAS CAUSED TWO TIRES TO BLOW OUT AND A FLAT. DEALER HAS BEEN CONTACTED. DEALER STATES THAT THESE ARE THE RIGHT SIZE TIRES. *AK
WHEN TURNING ON THE CRUISE CONTROL, THERE IS NO LIGHT INDICATING THAT THE CRUISE CONTROL IS ON. DEALER SAYS ITS THE WAY THIS MODEL IS DESIGNED. *AK
WHEN THE BRAKES ARE APPLIED THE RIGHT FRONT WHEELS LOCK UP, RESULTING IN EXTENDED STOPPING. THE DEALER HAS INSPECTED THE VEHICLE SEVERAL TIMES, AND THE PROBLEM STILL EXISTS. *AK

AIR FILTER SYSTEM FOR THE ENGINE FAILS IN RAIN, WATER GETS INTO SYSTEM AND CAUSES THE AIR FILTER TO COLLASPE, SHUTTING OFF THE AIR TO THE ENGINE RESULTING IN STALLING. *MJS
ENGINE BURNED UP OIL, BUT WAS NOT LEAKING. WOULD PUT APPROXIMATELY 2 QUARTS OF ENGINE OIL IN VEHICLE. THIS CAUSED ENGINE TO SMOKE. TOOK VEHICLE TO MECHANIC WHO FAILED TO LOCATE THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM. TOOK VEHICLE TO ANOTHER DEALERSHIP & MECHANIC CLAIMED "O" RING SEALS MAY HAVE CAUSED THE PROBLEM. *AK
ENGINE HEAD GASKET BLEW OUT, CAUSING COOLANT TO LEAK ONTO MANIFOLD AND ENGINE. DEALER HAS BEEN NOTIFIED. *AK
DRIVER SIDE OUTSIDE MIRROR VIBRATES WHICH DISTORTS VIEW/ BRAKES SQEEKING AT 12K MILES/VIBRATION IN THE REAR END AT 55MPH. *AK
WHEN SLOWING DOWN HEARS A LOUD POPPING NOISE . BRAKES WILL GO TO FLOOR , AND COMPLETELY FAIL. THIS WILL OCCUR INTERMITTENTLY AND WITHOUT WARNING. DEALER CANNOT DETERMINE CAUSE. *AK

THE LOWER CONTROL ARM AT LEFT REAR OF A ARM COMES LOOSE CAUSING THE LOWER PORTION OF FRONT TIRE/WHEEL TO MOVE OUT. THIS CAUSES FRONT END ALGI. PROBLEMS/TIRE WEAR AND WITH THE LOWER A ARM MOVING MAY CAUSE THE BOLT TO SHEAR OFF. HAVE TAKEN TRUCK TO DEALER AND WAS TOLD THAT FORD WOULD HAVE A FIX IN THE YEAR 2002. THEY ALSO STATE THAT THERE NOT ENOUGHT PEOLPE WITH THE PROBLEM FOR THEM TO ISSUE A RECALL OR EVEN PUT OUT A MEMO TO DEALERS.I HAVE SPOKEN WITH OVER 15 OTHER OWNERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM ALL OVER THE U.S. ON THE WEB.*AK
FRONT END SHOCKS KEPT COMING LOOSE. VEHICLE WOULD VIBRATE BADLY WHEN THIS HAPPENED. TOOK VEHICLE BACK TO DEALER & MECHANIC REPAIRED THE SHOCKS. CURRENTLY, PROBLEM WITH THE SHOCKS HAS REAPPEARED FOR THE THIRD TIME.*AK
PE-00-020- TIRE ON A 1999 FORD F150, TIRE SIZE P235/70R16, DOT NUMBER NOT AVAILABLE. WHEN DRIVING 70 MPH LEFT FRONT TIRE COMPLETELY CUT OFF FROM THE TREAD WHICH CAME OFF THE RIM, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO BECOME DIFFICULT TO STEER , TIRES ONLY HAD 5 TO 6 THOUSAND MILES AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT. *AK THE TIRE WAS CUT IN TWO PIECES, AND FIRESTONE'S RESPONSE TO THE CUSTOMER WAS THAT THERE WAS AN ONGOING TESTING PROGRAM AT THE TIME. *YH
DEALER HAS BEEN UNABLE TO RECTIFY THE PROBLEMS WITHT HE ABS SYSTEM WHICH CAUSES THE ABS LIGHT TO ILLUMINATE INTERMITTENTLY WHILE DRIVING. NLM

I HAD BROUGHT MY TRUCK TO COURTESY FORD THEY HAD FOUND A PART DEFECTIVE IN THE TRANSMISSION, THE TECHNICIAN HAD STATED THEY HAD FIXED THE PROBLEM, WHEN I GOT TRUCK BACK IT WAS STILL HAVING SAME PROBLEMS. TOLD COURTESY FORD AGAIN THAT PROBLEM RESTARTED, TECHNICIAN CHECKED OUT AGAIN AND STATED NOTHING WRONG, I AM STILL HAVING MY TRANSMISSION JERK AND BANG WHEN ACCELERATING AND ALSO DECELERATING
WHILE TRAVELING AND WITHOUT ANY INDICATION VEHICLE STALLED. ENGINE CHECK LIGHT CAME ON, AND STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER INFORMATION.*AK

WHILE WARMING TRANSMISSION WAS RELEASED WHILE APPLYING BRAKES, AND VEHICLE TOOK OFF. AFTER 20 FEET VEHICLE HIT A HOUSE, AND AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. DEALER HAS BEEN CONTACTED.*AK

I PURCHASED A 1999 F150 ON 5/9/00. I RECENTLY BOUGHT NEW TIRES FOR MY TRUCK AND FOUND OUT THAT ONE OF THE WHEELS WAS BENT ON THE INSIDE. THE BEND IN THE WHEEL WAS BAD ENOUGH THAT THE WHEEL COULD NOT BE BALANCED PROPERLY AND WOULD WOBBLE. I THEN PROCEDED TO PUT ON MY SPARE TIRE AND NOTICED THAT THE SPARE TIRE WAS A DIFFERENT SIZE THAN WHAT WAS ON THE TRUCK WHEN I PURCHASED IT. THE SIZE ON THE TRUCK IS 255/ 70R 16. MANUFACTURER REQUIRED SIZE IS 235/70R/16. I BROUGHT THIS PROBLEM TO THE SELLING DEALER AND SET AN APPOINTMENT FOR THEM TO TAKE A LOOK. I AM ASKING FOR YOUR HELP BECAUSE I FEEL I HAVE BEEN TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF AND THEY WILL THINK I CAUSED THE PROBLEM. I DID NOT CAUSE THIS PROBLEM. THIS TRUCK WAS SOLD TO ME IN THIS CONDITION. I JUST NOW FOUND OUT I HAD THIS PROBLEM JUST BECAUSE I WANTED NEW TIRES BEFORE WINTER HITS. ANY INFORMATION YOU CAN GIVE ME WILL BE VERY HELPFUL. THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

THE ABS SYSTEM WAS EXPERIENCING PROBLEMS AT 10,000 WHEN THE LIGHT WOULD COME ON, VEHICLE WAS SERVICED SEVERAL TIMES DUE TO THE BRAKES LOCKING UP ON OCCASIONS WHILE DRIVING, THE ABS SYSTEM FAILED RESULTING IN LOSS OF CONTROL AND COLLISION WITH FENCE. *MJS
NEW TRUCK HAS CONSTANT VIBRATION AT IDLE AND ALL SPEEDS, 4TH TIME BACK TO DEALER THEY MADE VIBRATION WORSE, LAST RESORT FOR DEALER IS TO REPLACE ENGINE MOUNTS. *AK
SPARE TIRE WHICH IS PLACED IN REAR OF TRUCK AND RESTING ON FRAME VERY TIGHTLY CAUSED 8 GROOVES ON SIDEWALL OF TIRE WHICH CUT THROUGH. CONSUMER FELT THERE SHOULD BE SOMETHING LIKE A PIECE OF WOOD OR PLASTIC PLACED IN BETWEEN TIRE AND FRAME , AND DID NOT TOUCH TIRE. *AK
I PURCHASED THIS 1999 FORD F150 TRUCK IN JUNE OF 1999, WITHIN IN A FEW MONTHS THE TRUCK WAS REGISTERING MORE MILES THAN I HAD PUT ON THIS TRUCK. I RETURNED TO DEALER AND MADE COMPLAINT. I WAS TOLD THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG. THEN I RETURNED TO DEALER WITH SAME COMPLAINT ON SEVERAL ORTHER TIMES. FINALLY I CALLED THE DMV OFFICE IN WHITEVILLE NC , THEY GOT IN TOUCH WITH THE QUALITY FORD CO. AND THEN QUALITY FORD REPLACED THE ODOMETER IN TRUCK. AT THIS TIME I WAS ALSO COMPLAINING ABOUT TRUCK MAKING A KNOCKING SOUND. THEY TOLD ME THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. THEY HAVE ALWAYS TOLD ME THIS ON EVERY COMPLIANT I MADE ABOUT THE TRUCK. NOW TODAY 12-4-00 THE TRUCK IS STILL JUMPING MILEAGE , I HAD THE TRUCK IN THE SHOP IN NOVEMBER AND IT WAS THERE FOR TWO WEEKS, I FINALLY PICKED THE TRUCK UP ON 11-28-00 AND I WAS TOLD THAT THEY HAD DRIVEN THE TRUCK TO FAYETTVILLE NC AND THAT THE TRUCK DID JUMP MILEAGE WITH THE DRIVER AND THAT THEY WERE GOING TO REPLACE THE ODOMETER AGAIN, AND THAT THEY HAD ORDERED THE ODOMETER AND THAT IT WOULD BE IN ON FRIDAY 12-1-00. I CONTACTED THEM ON MONDAY 12-4-00 AND THEY TOLD ME TO BRING THE TRUCK TO THEM ON THURSDAY 12-7-00 AND THAT THEY WOULD PUT THE ODOMETER IN ON THIS DAY AND REPLACE THE BACK WINDOW WHICH POURS WATER WHEN IT RAINS, BUT THAT THEY WERE NOT GOING TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT THE MOTOR KNOCKING BECAUSE IT WAS JUST A CHARECTERISTIC OF THE MOTOR AND IT WOULD NOT HURT THE MOTOR. THIS IS NOT WHAT I PAYED FOR . I PAID FOR A NEW TRUCK AND I THINK I GOT A LEMON. I AMM TIRED OF CHANGING THE ODOMETER IN THIS TRUCK. I NEVER KNOW THE REAL MILEAGE ON THIS VEHICLE BECAUSE THEY JUST PUT WHATEVER THEY THINK SHOULD BE ON TRUCK BACK ON THE ODOMETER. THIS IS NOT RIGHT TO ME. ISN,T IT AGAINST THE LAW TO MESS WITH MILEAGE ON A VEHICLE. PLEASE HELP ME I JUST DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH THIS VEHICLE EXCEPT TO HIRE ME AN ATTORNEY AND GET MY MONEY BACK OUT OF THIS VEHICLE AND GET MY VEHICLE BACK THAT I TRADED IN ON THIS TRUCK ALONG WITH.
CARBON MONOXIDE (CO) LEAKS INTO THE CAB AND ACCUMULATES TO UNACCEPTABLE LEVELS, THIS HAPPENS NOT ONLY WHEN VEHICLE IS PARKED OR IDLING, BUT WHILE DRIVING WITH WINDOWS CLOSED AND THE HEATER ON, FIRST REPAIR THEY FOUND A BAD MANIFOLD GASKET, HOWEVER THE PROBLEMS CONTINUES AFTER REPLACEMENT. * MJS
AT DEALERSHIP MECHANIC HAD PLACED A SIX PRONG HOOK UP FOR BRAKES FROM HORSE TRAILER TO PICKUP. HOOK UP WAS DONE INCORRECTLY. HORSE TRAILER WOULD HAVE NO BRAKE SYSTEM. HOOK UP SYSTEM WAS NOT TESTED FOR ACCURACY. PICK UP BRAKES HAD WORN OUT TWICE DUE TO THE MISTAKE BY HADLEN CHEVROLET. *AK
RIGHT REAR FIRESTONE WILDERNESS/HT, P23570R16 TIRE BLEWOUT WHILE DRIVING AT 50 MPH, TREAD SEPAERATED, CONSUMER STATES 2 PEOPLE WERE INJURED IN ACCIDENT, CONSUMER PURCHASED 4 NEW TIRES, DOT # W2081RC. *SLC
FIRESTONE WILDERNESS HT TIRES (235/70R16) WERE REPLACED WITH ONLY 16000 MILES, A MANUFACTURING PROBLEM WAS DISCOVERED, TWO PIECES OF RUBBER WERE USED AND FITTED TOGETHER WITH A FUSED CENTER STRIP OF RUBBER. *SLC
AT 25,000 MILES BRAKES FAILED TO STOP VEHICLE. HAS BEEN IN SHOP 3 TIMES FOR SAME PROBLEM WHICH WAS NOT RESOLVED. WAS INFORMED FRONT END NEEDED TO BE REDESIGNED. THERE WAS NO CORRECTIVE SOLUTION FOR BRAKE FAILURE.*AK
