WAS STOPPING ON HIGHWAY, BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO FLOOR. VEHICLE STOPPED, UPON INSPECTION FOUND REAR BRAKE LINE WAS RUSTED AND LEAKING. I REPLACED THE FAILED BRAKE LINE. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 1999 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH HE HEARD A LOUD NOISE AND PULLED ONTO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. HE THEN NOTICED THAT THE FUEL TANK HAD DETACHED, AND BOTH STRAPS WERE FRACTURED AND HAD COMPLETELY DETERIORATED. FUEL SPILLED AND IT WAS APPROXIMATELY A LOSS OF 4 TO 5 GALLONS OF FUEL SPILLED OUT OF THE VEHICLE DUE TO THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED AND REPAIRED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED WHICH INCLUDED REPLACING THE TWO FUEL TANK STRAPS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 133,786. UPDATED 08/31/11 *BF THE GAS TANK STRAPS, FUEL LINES AND FUEL TANK WERE REPLACED. UPDATED 09/07/11
F150 FUEL TANK RUSTED OUT AND LEAKED - DUE TO RUSTED TANK STRAPS HAD TO REPLACE TANK AND STRAPS AT 130,000 MILES. *TR
I HAVE A 1999 FORD F-150 WHILE ON VACATION I HEARD SOMETHING BREAK WHEN I TOOK IT TO THE SHOP THEY SAID THAT ALL OF MY STRAPS HAD SNAPPED THE ONLY THING HOLDING IT UP WAS SKID PLATE AND ON THE SECOND INCIDENT WAS WHEN I WAS DRIVING MY BRAKE PEDAL HAD WENT SOFT CAUSING ME TO ALMOST CAUSE AN ACCIDENT THEN THE BRAKE LIGHT HAD CAME ON WHEN I TOOK IT TO FORD THEY HAD SAID THAT ALL MY BRAKE LINES FROM THE BACK TO THE MASTER CYLINDER HAD TO BE REPLACED SO BETWEEN THE TWO INCIDENTS THE TRUCK HAS COST ME CLOSE TO ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS. *TR UPDATED 08/01/11 *BF BOTH STRAPS FAILED DUE TO RUST. THERE WAS NO FUEL SPILL. UPDATED 08/02/11
1. NORMAL DRIVING OF MY FORD F150 SINCE 1999. 2.. THE FAILURE - THE REAR GAS STRAPPED CORRODED, CAUSING THE GAS TANK TO DROP AND BE DRAGGED A SHORT DISTANCE ON THE HIGHWAY UNTIL I COULD SAFELY PULL OVER. 3. I BROUGHT THE CAR TO MY AUTHORIZED FORD DEALER FOR REPAIR. TWO NEW STRAPS HAD TO BE ORDERED AS THE FRONT STRAP WAS ALSO SEVERELY CORRODED. *TR
MY LEFT REAR TIRE BLEW OUT. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 1999 FORD F150. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 55 MPH WHEN HE WAS ADVISED THAT THE FUEL TANK WAS HANGING. THE FUEL TANK WAS NOT LEAKING GASOLINE HOWEVER, BOTH FUEL STRAPS WERE CORRODED AND CAUSED ONE STRAP TO FRACTURE. THE CONTACT REPLACED THE FUEL STRAP. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 71,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 76,000.
I'VE HAD TWO PLUGS BLOW OUT ON MY 99 F150. IT HAS LESS THAN 100,000 ON IT. IF THEY KNOW ITS A DEFECT WHY NOT STEP UP AND FIX THE PROBLEM? IT COST $300 A PLUG!!!! LEFT ME STRANDED AT NIGHT WITH MY FAMILY ALONG THE ROAD!! MAKES ME WONDER IF I WANT TO STAY WITH FORD OR GO ELSEWHERE. *TR

THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER REFUELING THE VEHICLE AND DRIVING 20 MPH, ALL THREE FUEL STRAPS FRACTURED, CAUSING THE FUEL TANK TO PARTIALLY DETACH AND DRAG THE GROUND. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED BACK TO THE GASOLINE STATION WHERE THE FUEL STRAPS WERE REPLACED. THE DEALER WAS CONTACTED BUT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. I RECEIVED THE RECALL NOTICE FOR THE FUEL TANK STRAPS. THE STRAPS ARE BAD AND I ALSO HAVE A LEAK IN THE FUEL TANK . THE TANK IS EXTREMELY RUSTED WHERE THE STRAPS ARE ON THE TANK. THE CORROSION PROBLEM WITH THE STRAPS APPEAR TO SPREAD TO ONLY THE PART OF THE TANK WHERE THE STRAPS TOUCH. FORD DOES NOT SEEM CONCERNED WITH THIS PROBLEM, SO I AM TURNING TO YOU FOR HELP AND ADVICE. *KB

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 1999 FORD F-150. THE CONTACTED STATED THAT WHILE REFUELING THE VEHICLE, FUEL LEAKED FROM UNDER THE VEHICLE ABNORMALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A PRIVATE MECHANIC. THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE FILLER NECK WAS DETACHED FROM THE TANK. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 127,847 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
1999 FORD F150 4WHEEL DRIVE THE FRONT GAS TANK STRAP BECAME DETACHED FROM THE MOUNT . THE STRAP DRAGGED THE GROUND . I AM HAPPY IT DID NOT CAUSE ANY OTHER DAMAGE. THE STRAP MOUNT IS TOTALLY RUSTED THROUGH AND I DO NOT KNOW HOW OR IF IT CAN BE REPAIRED. THE TRUCK ONLY HAS 93K MILES ON IT. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 1999 FORD F150. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL TIRE SHOP TO HAVE THE REAR TIRES REPLACED. THE VEHICLE CAUGHT ON FIRE WHILE IN THE TECHNICIANS POSSESSION. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS CALLED AND A FIRE REPORT WAS FILED ACCORDINGLY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 109,000.
THE FUEL TANK AND FUEL TANK STRAPS WERE BADLY RUSTED AND THE FUEL TANK WAS LEAKING. MOISTURE AND DIRT WAS ACCUMULATING INSIDE THE STRAP CAUSING IT TO RUST.
1999 FORD F150 2WD TRUCK WITH 80,000 MILES THE FUEL TANK FELL OUT OF THE TRUCK. UPON INVESTIGATION, IT WAS FOUND THAT THE FUEL TANK STRAPS HAS CORRODED APART. WHEN RE-INSTALLING NEW STRAPS, IT WAS FOUND THAT THE FUEL FILL TUBE WAS CORRODED, AS WELL, WITH SEVERAL HOLES IN IT. ALSO, WHILE RE-ATTACHING FUEL TANK IT WAS FOUND THAT THE REAR THREE CROSS-MEMBERS WERE ON THERE WAY TO CORRODING INTO TWO PIECES, AND HAD ALREADY COMPLETELY BROKEN IN OTHER PLACES. UPON REMOVAL OF PICK-UP TRUCK BED FOR EXAMINATION, IT WAS FOUND THAT THE REAR SPRING SHACKLE PINS HAD CORRODED AWAY, LEAVING NO SUPPORT. FURTHER, THE FRAME RAILS WERE CORRODED TO THE POINT THAT THEY COULD BE BENT BY HAND- NO TOOLS USED! THIS SHOULD BE A MAJOR SAFETY RECALL BY FORD AS AN UNSUSPECTING USER HAULING A TRAILER MAY LOOSE THEIR TRAILER, DESPITE SAFETY CHAINS ATTACHED, CAUSING INJURY, OR DEATH, AND PROPERTY DAMAGE. AN UNSUSPECTING DRIVER WOULD ALSO BE SUBJECT TO THE FUEL TANK FALLING OFF THE TRUCK, WHILE DRIVING. IT COULD BURST INTO FLAMES, DUE TO HOT EXHAUST, OR ROAD SPARKS. THIS ALSO POSES THE SAFETY HAZARD OF FUEL SPILLAGE ON A ROADWAY. THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TRUCK MANUFACTURED BY FORD THAT HAS HAD PROBLEMS OF THIS NATURE, BUT THIS IS THE WORST I HAVE SEEN, AND THERE ARE MORE THAN LIKELY MORE CASES KNOWN TO OTHER MECHANICS, AS WELL AS SOME THAT HAVE GONE UNDETECTED AS OF YET. *TR
AFTER DRIVING THE VEHICLE APPROXIMATELY 10-12 MILES, I PARKED IT IN THE DRIVEWAY. ABOUT FIFTEEN MINUTES LATER MY WIFE AND I SMELLED SMOKE. WHEN I INVESTIGATED, I FOUND ENGINE COMPARTMENT OF THE TRUCK IN FLAMES. THE FIRE APPEARED TO HAVE STARTED ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE OF THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT ABOVE THE FRONT WHEEL. FIRE COMPANY WAS REQUIRED TO EXTINGUISH THE FLAMES. EVERYTHING FORWARD OFTHE FIREWALL WAS DESTROYED. *TR
IN APRIL OF 2010 MY F150 PICK UP GAS TANK FELL OFF. I HAD TO BUY A NEW ONE. THE STRAPS RUSTED AND THE TANK FELL. I LOST ALL OF THE GAS THAT IN IT. IT COST ME $600.00. THE TRUCK IS A1999. THE STRAPS SHOULD BE MADE OF STAINLESS STEEL. *TR
MY 1999 FORD F150 WAS SITTING IN THE DRIVEWAY NEXT TO THE HOUSE. APPARENTLY IT SPONTANEOUSLY COMBUSTED. IT IS NOW A BURNED-OUT SHELL OF A TRUCK. FORTUNATELY, MY WIFE WAS WORKING FROM HOME AND CALLED THE FIRE DEPT SO THE HOUSE DID NOT SUFFER MUCH DAMAGE. I DID LOSE A FEW THOUSAND $ WORTH OF TOOLS IN THE TRUCK. *TR
THE STRAP ON OUR FORD F 150 THAT HOLDS UP OUR GAS TANK BROKE AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. UPON LOOKING AT THE FRAME IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT IT WAS RUSTED OUT VERY BADLY AND COULD BE A DRIVING HAZARD TO DRIVE. WE ARE IN THE PROCESS OF COMPLETELY GETTING A NEW FRAME PUT UNDER THE TRUCK. THIS TRUCK IS ONLY TEN YEARS OLD AND WE THINK FORD SHOULD HAVE SOME RESPONSIBILITY IN FIXING THIS PROBLEM. IT IS A ONE OWNER AND WE HAVE TAKEN VERY GOOD CARE OF IT. IT LOOKS LIKE THE DAY WE BOUGHT IT EXCEPT FOR THE FRAME. I HATE TO THINK WHAT COULD HAVE HAPPENED IF THE GAS TANK HAD FALLEN OFF WHILE WE WERE DRIVING ON THE EXPRESSWAY. *TR
I OWN A USED 1999 FORD F-150 5.4L ENGINE. IT HAS APPROXIMATELY 117,500 MILES. WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY IN CALIFORNIA YESTERDAY, I HEARD A LOUD KNOCKING TYPE NOISE. I PULLED OVER TO THE SHOULDER AND WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING OPENED THE HOOD. JUST AS I DID, THE SPARK PLUG EJECTED FROM THE CYLINDER HEAD AND CAME WITHIN 3" OF MY SKULL ALMOST KILLING ME. TOOK IT RIGHT OVER TO THE POWER FORD DEALER IN TUSTIN, CA. THEY WANT TO CHARGE ME A DIAGNOSIS FEE TO TELL ME WHAT I ALREADY KNOW. I TOLD THEM THEY BETTER ASSURE ME THAT THE REMAINING 7 PLUGS WON'T DO THE SAME THING OR I MAY HAVE BEEN KILLED AND A LAW SUIT WOULD HAVE BEEN A DEFINITE. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND OUT OF WARRANTY SO TO SPEAK, BUT IT A UNIQUE PROBLEM ALL IT'S OWN. THIS HAS TO LEAD TO A RECALL. IT IS FAR TO DANGEROUS AND IN LIGHT OF WHAT HAS COME UP WITH TOYOTA RECENTLY WE CANNOT ALLOW THESE THINGS , THESE SERIOUS DANGER TO CONTINUE TO BE ALLOWED TO SAVE FORD A FEW $. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 1999 FORD F150. THE VEHICLE CAUGHT FIRE WHILE IT WAS PARKED IN HER DRIVEWAY. EVERYTHING UNDER THE HOOD INCLUDING HER RADIATOR WAS BURNED AND THE PAINT ON THE HOOD STARTED TO MELT. THE WINDSHIELD CRACKED AND DISPLAYED STAINS FROM THE SMOKE. THE RIGHT WINDSHIELD WIPER WAS ALSO BURNED. THE DRIVER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN DRIVEN FOR OVER 15 HOURS. THE CONTACT TRIED TO CALL FORD BUT NO ONE RETURNED HER CALL. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS 1999 FORD F150. WHILE DRIVING AT 55MPH THE VEHICLE SHUT DOWN WITHOUT WARNING. HE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE GARAGE. HE WAS INFORMED THE MOTOR HEAD SENDING UNIT HAD TO BE REPLACED, BUT THE MOTOR HEAD HOLE WAS DEFECTIVE BECAUSE IT WAS DRILLED TOO LARGE.THE GARAGE WAS NOT ABLE TO REPLACE THE MOTOR HEAD IN A TIMELY MANNER. THE TOTAL COST FOR REPAIR WAS $700.00.THE CONTACT CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER. THE MANUFACTURER DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE . THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 130,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 1999 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT WAS ATTEMPTING A TURN AND DROVE OVER A POTHOLE WHEN THE FUEL TANK STRAPS FRACTURED. THE FUEL TANK THEN DETACHED FROM THE VEHICLE AND CAUSED A FULL TANK OF GASOLINE FUEL TO SPILL. IN ADDITION, THE FUEL TANK THEN STRUCK AND RUPTURED THE REAR BRAKES LINES. IN ORDER TO STOP THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT HAD TO ABRUPTLY APPLY THE EMERGENCY BRAKE AND SHIFT INTO PARK SIMULTANEOUSLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACTS HOME WHERE IT WAS INSPECTED BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY. THE INSURANCE COMPANY DISCOVERED THAT THE FUEL STRAPS WERE CORRODED AND WAS THE CAUSE OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 139,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 141,000.
1999 FORD F-159 ABS LIGHT ON AND RED BRAKE LIGHT ON INTERMITTENTLY WITH CHANGE IN BRAKE "FEEL". *TR
I OWN A 1999 FORD F-150, 5.4L V-8 TRITON. I RECENTLY HAD A TUNE UP IN DECEMBER 2010 WITH ALL EIGHT SPARK PLUGS AND WIRES CHANGED OUT FOR A MERE $700. IN FEB 2011, AS I WAS TAKING MY CHILDREN TO SCHOOL, I HEARD A LOUD POP THEN MY ENGINE STARTED TO SOUND LIKE A TRACTOR WITHOUT A MUFFLER ON IT. I PULLED OVER AND CALLED WRECKER TO RETURN THE TRUCK TO MY HOUSE, OUT OF POCKET $60, NOT KNOWING ANYTHING ABOUT ENGINES. I CALLED THE REPAIR CENTER WHO THEN HAD IT TRANSFERRED BACK TO THEIR SHOP FOR REPAIR. THE #8 PLUG HAD COMPLETELY SHOT OUT RIPPING THE COIL WITH IT. THEY FIXED THAT, NOW TWO WEEKS LATER, THE #7 PLUG IS FOULED ACCORDING TO THE MECHANIC. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN AND A FINANCIAL BURDEN, AS I READ OTHER STATEMENTS OF THE SAME DEFECTIVE ISSUES WITH FORD, CONSIDERING FIRE COULD HAVE BEEN A RESULT. PLEASE RE-OPEN THIS INVESTIGATION AND FORCE FORD TO ISSUE RECALL SO THAT THOSE OF US WHO ARE FINANCIALLY STRAPPED CAN HAVE OUR TRUCKS REPAIRED. OTHERWISE I CAN ASSURE THAT I WILL NEVER BUY FORD PRODUCT AGAIN. *TR
GAS TANK STRAP BROKE AWAY. TANK WAS HANGING BY GAS LINE AND FILL TUBE. TEMPORARILY REPAIRED WITH NYLON STRAPPING. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 1999 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 TO 60 MPH ON ICY ROAD CONDITIONS AND CRASHED INTO A HERD OF CATTLE AND THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. NO WARNING LIGHTS WERE VISIBLE PRIOR TO THE CRASH. THE CONTACT AND THE PASSENGER RECEIVED MINOR ABRASIONS AND BRUISES. THE POLICE WERE CALLED, BUT DID NOT ARRIVE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED, BUT HAD NOT BEEN INSPECTED NOR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE APPROXIMATELY 167,000. UPDATED 03/29/11 *BF UPDATED 05/06/11
SPARK PLUG BLOWOUT ON 1999 FORD F150 WITH 5.4L TRITON V8. IT SEEMS TO BE A VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE FORD MODULAR ENGINES. TODAY, I HEARD A LOUD POP COME FROM MY ENGINE BAY AS I ACCELERATED AND THEN THE SOUND OF WHAT SEEMED TO BE A MASSIVE EXHAUST MANIFOLD LEAK. UPON FURTHER INSPECTION, I FOUND THAT THE SPARK PLUG ON THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE OF THE ENGINE HAD EJECTED AND BROKE THE COIL WITH IT. I WAS LUCKY THAT IT HAD ONLY DAMAGED THE THREADS ON THE SPARK PLUG AND SHEARED THE COIL AT ITS MOUNT, INSTEAD OF DAMAGING THE THREADS ON THE HEAD, BUT FROM READING THE MULTIPLE OTHER STORIES ONLINE ABOUT THIS HAPPENING, IT SEEMS THAT I AM LUCKIER THAN MOST. I WAS ABLE TO REPAIR IT BY REPLACING THE SPARK PLUG, BOOT, AND COIL, BUT FROM WHAT I HAVE SEEN, MOST PEOPLE HAVE TO REPLACE THE HEAD WHEN IT HAPPENS. I DON'T SEE WHY THERE HAS NOT BEEN A RECALL SINCE IT CAN CAUSE AN ACCIDENT DUE TO SCARING A DRIVER WHEN THEY HEAR A LOUD EXPLOSION IN THE ENGINE WHEN IT HAPPENS, OR POSSIBLY KILLING SOMEONE AS FUEL/AIR VAPORS ESCAPE THE ENGINE AND THE SPARK PLUG COULD POSSIBLY IGNITE IT OUTSIDE THE ENGINE, AND BEING RIGHT NEXT TO THE FUEL RAIL AND INJECTORS, POSSIBLY CAUSE MASSIVE FIRE DAMAGE WITH ITS OCCUPANTS STILL INSIDE THE VEHICLE. PLEASE TELL FORD TO RECALL THIS PROBLEM. I SEE THE FIX BEING AS SIMPLE AS PUTTING STRONGER THREAD INSERTS TO PREVENT THE SPARK PLUGS FROM EJECTING. ITS RIDICULOUS US AS CAR OWNERS SHOULD HAVE TO CONTINUOUSLY PAY BIG BUCKS FOR A FAULTY ENGINE DESIGN THAT FORD REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE OR FIX. *JB *TR
I WAS DRIVING MY 1999 FORD F150 4X4 WITH 5.4L ENGINE HOME FROM WORK AND STOPPED AT TRAFFIC LIGHT. THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN AND I PROCEEDED TO GO AND THEN "POW" THE TRUCK BEGAN TO MAKE A LOUD "POPPING" NOISE AND LOST ALL ENGINE POWER. I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTION AND SOMEHOW MANAGED TO KEEP IT RUNNING LONG ENOUGH TO GET THROUGH THE INTERSECTION AND ON A SIDE ROAD. I HESITATED TO OPEN THE HOOD BECAUSE OF THE STRONG GASOLINE SMELL BUT IT WASN'T ON FIRE "YET" SO I OPENED IT AND FOUND ONE OF MY IGNITION COILS (COIL PACKS) LOOSE ON TOP OF THE INTAKE MANIFOLD. UPON FURTHER INSPECTION I REALIZED THE SPARK PLUG HAD BLOWN OUT OF THE ALUMINUM CYLINDER HEAD. I WAS ABLE TO CATCH A RIDE TO THE AUTO PARTS STORE WITH COIL AND PLUG IN HAND. THE SALESMAN AT THE STORE IMMEDIATELY KNEW WHAT HAD HAPPENED AND EVEN KNEW THE ENGINE WAS A 5.4L BEFORE BEING TOLD. HE SAID THAT IF I WAS LUCKY I WOULD PROBABLY JUST HAVE TO INSTALL A HELICOIL OR THREADED INSERT IN IT. THE OTHER OPTION WAS TO REPLACE THE CYLINDER HEAD. I PURCHASED NEW COIL AND PLUG THEN DROVE BACK TO MY TRUCK. I TRIED TO CLEAN THE THREADS WITH A SPARK PLUG THREAD CHASER BUT THERE WERE NO THREADS LEFT TO CLEAN. I SEARCHED THE WEB AND FOUND NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS OF THE SAME ISSUE. SOME PEOPLE SAID THEY HAD MULTIPLE SPARK PLUGS BLOW OUT OR "SPIT OUT" ON THE SAME VEHICLE. WHY DOESN'T FORD HAVE A RECALL ON THIS? THEY SAID THAT I SHOULD REPLACE THE HEAD OR INSTALL A HELICOIL AND ALSO REPLACE THE SPARK PLUG AND COIL PACK. SO I HAD THEM INSTALL THE HELICOIL AND REPLACE THE DAMAGED PARTS. LESS THEN A MONTH LATER I WAS DRIVING TO WORK ON THE I 90 AND I BLOW OUT THE NUMBER 5 CYLINDER SPARK PLUG AND THIS TIME IT TOOK OUT THE PLASTIC SHIELD AND RIPPED THE SPARK PLUG AND THE COIL PACK OFF HE TRUCK. I HAVE NOT DONE ANY THING BUT CONTACT FORD MOTOR COMPANY ABOUT THIS AT THIS TIME. THERE SUGGESTION WAS TO REPLACE THE HEADS MY SELF AT A COST OF 6,000 DOLLARS. *TR

SINCE THE INBOARD BRAKE PADS DO MORE STOPPING THAN THE OUTSIDE BRAKE PADS IT'S A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. TO ADD TO THE DANGER THE FRONT BRAKING SYSTEM DOES ABOUT 75% OF A VEHICLES TOTAL BRAKING. AND, IF IT HAPPENS ON A LONG DOWN HILL GRADE WITH ALLOT OF BRAKING, IT CAN CAUSE THE FRONT BRAKE FLUID TO BOIL INSIDE THE CALIPERS GIVING SOMEONE ONE HELL-OF-A WILD RIDE.
