SMALL CRACK ON DRIVERS DOOR FROM INSIDE DOOR TO OUTSIDE, AT BASE OF DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW. *AK
WHILE TRAVELING 40MPH ANOTHER VEHICLE TURNED CORNER AND HIT CONSUMER'S TRUCK HEAD ON. UPON IMPACT, NEITHER AIR BAG DEPLOYED. DRIVER AND PASSENGER SUFFERED INJURIES. DRIVER SUSTAINED WHIPLASH AND LEFT ELBOW PROBLEM; WHILE, PASSENGER SUFFEREDD BRUISED RIBS AND SPRAINED NECK. WAS HOSPITALIZED. VEHICLE TOTALED.*AK

I HAVE READ A NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE CRACK IN DOOR OF THIS VEHICLE SINCE THE NEW BODY STYLE CHANGED IN 1997 AND IT STILL HASN'T BEEN CORRECTED. IT SEEMS TO ME THERE IS A WEAKNESS IN THE SHEET METAL IN THE DOORS AND IT HAS ME CONCERNED SHOULD I BE IN AN ACCIDENT INVOLVING A SIDE IMPACT. WE ALL KNOW HOW A TIRE CAN KILL SOMEONE SO LETS NOT WAIT TILL SOMEONE GETS HURT BEFORE WE REALIZE THERE IS A PROBLEM HERE. THANK YOU , WILLIAM E. CARLISLE. *AK

DRIVERS SIDE BACK TIRE BLEW OUT FRO NO APPARENT REASON, TRIED TO GET OFF THE ROAD, TO NO AVAIL DUE TO SPEED. ONCE REACHED 10MPH WAS ABLE TO GET OFF THE FREEWAY SAFELY.
MY FAMILY AND I WERE TRAVELING AT APPROXIMATELY 55MPH ON A DIVIDED HIGHWAY AND WERE HIT IN THE FRONT OF THE TRUCK BY A CAR THAT WAS PERFORMING AN ILLEGAL U-TURN. THE TRUCK WAS TOTALED AND NEITHER AIRBAG DEPLOYED. MY WIFE, ME AND TWO CHILDREN WERE HURT. I SUBSEQUENTLY HAD A LOWER BACK FUSION OPERATION AS A RESULT OF THIS ACCIDENT. I BELIEVE THAT FORD IS AT FAULT BASED ON FAULTY AIRBAGS. HOW IS IT POSSIBLE THAT NEITHER AIRBAG DEPLOYED WHEN THERE WAS A DIRECT FRONTAL IMPACT AT 55 MPH? I WOULD LIKE TO OBTAIN MORE INFORMATION REGARDING POTENTIAL AIRBAG DEFECTS SPECIFIC TO THIS VEHICLE. I AM 100 PERCENT DISABLED AS A RESULT OF THIS ACCIDENT AND MY ATTORNEY AT THE TIME DID NOT WANT TO GO UP AGAINST FORD MOTOR CO. ANY AND ALL INFORMATION RELATED TO THE ABOVE WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. DRIVING 50 MPH AND SIDEWALL ON THE LEFT FRONT TIRE CAME APART. NO WARNING. PUT SPARE ON IN ITS PLACE. TOOK TIRE TO FORD DEALER, AND INFORMED DRIVER AT FAULT FOR FAILING TO MAINTAIN CORRECT TIRE PRESSURE WHICH OWNER DID. LATER, RECEIVED NOTICE THAT TIRE NOT ON RECALL. FORD, F150, 2000; P235/70416 WITH 22,000 MILES.*AK THE RIM MARK FROM DRIVING ON BLOWN TIRE WAS USED BY THE DEALER AS PROOF OF UNDER INFLATION. *YH
WHEN PULLING UP TO A STOP SIGN OR COMING TO A STOP RPMS WOULD DROP DOWN. BUT WHEN STARTING AGAIN VEHICLE WOULD SHUT OFF.*AK

CRACK IN DOOR, FROM EDGE OF WINDOW TOWARD EDGE OF DOOR, ABOVE HANDLE,HAVE FOUND MANY OTHER F150'S RANGING FROM 1997-2001 THAT HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. *AK
WHILE DRIVING, STEERING IS TIGHT AND VEHICLE IS RADICALLY PULLING TO THE RIGHT WITHOUT WARNING, THE DEALER HAS REPLACED THE GEAR ASSEMBLY THREE TIMES, STEERING PUMP ASSEMBLY AND NOW CONSUMER IS AWAITING A NEW FACTORY STEERING GEAR, CONSUMER ALSO STATES THAT THE ORIGINAL PUMP ASSEMBLY AND ORIGINAL STEERING GEAR HAVE BECOME WEAK/SOFT/SAGGED. *SLC
THERE'S A WHITE POWDERY DUST COMING OUT OF THE DEFROSTER AND HEATER. THE VENTILATION SYSTEM IS ON THE WHOLE TIME YOU DRIVE THE TRUCK SO IT IS BLOWING IN YOUR FACE ALL THE TIME YOU ARE IN IT. I'VE BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS WITH MY EYES AND SINUSES AND THOUGHT THAT IT WAS FROM THE POLLEN THIS TIME OF YEAR. WENT TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP AND THEY DIDN'T KNOW WHAT IT COULD BE. NOW I'M WORRIED ABOUT IT MIGHT BE MAKING ME AND OTHER PEOPLE THAT RIDE IN THE TRUCK SICK. CAN'T FIND ANYONE TO TELL ME WHAT THE POWDER IS SO MY DOCTOR CAN TREAT ME. PLEASE TELL ME YOU CAN HELP . VEHICLE WOULD VIBRATE WHILE DRIVING AT 40-60 MPH. VEHICLE BEEN TO DEALER'S SHOP ON FIVE OCCASION, VARIOUS REPAIRS WERE DONE AND PARTS REPLACED, PROBLEM STILL REOCCURRING. FEEL FREE TO PROVIDE ANY FURTHER INFORMATION. *AK

WHILE CONSUEMR WAS DRIVING AT ABOUT 30 MPH HAD TO MAKE A SUDDEN STOP AND BACK WHEELS LOCKED UP, NO PRIOR WARNINGS. CONTACTED DEALER, AND DEALER TOLD CONSUMER TO BRING THE VEHICLE IN. *AK
ABS BRAKES DO NOT WORK AFTER IT RAINS. THEY ONLY WORK AFTER A FEW STOPS.CONTACTED DEALER, AND DEALER SAID THERE WAS NOTHING THEYCOULD DO .*AK
WHEN BRAKES WERE APPLIED PEDAL BECAME HARD, RESULTING IN EXTENDED STOPPING WHICH CAUSED A COLLISION. DRIVER SUSTAINED MINOR INJURIES.*AK
CNG TRANSFER TUBING (CONNECTS FILL CONNECTOR, 3600 # CNG STORAGE CYLINDER, AND ENGINE SIDE OF FUEL SYSTEM TOGETHER) PASSES THROUGH THE FLOOR OF THE TRUCK BED AND HOLE IS SHIELDED WITH A RUBBER GROMMET. THE TUBING ON THIS AND OUR OTHER IDENTICAL TRUCK WERE FOUND TO BE CHAFING THROUGH THE GROMMETS DUE TO THE ANGLE AT WHICH THEY PASSED THROUGH THE RELATIVELY SMALL (1") HOLE IN THE BED. IT APPEARS AS THOUGH THIS WOULD HAVE CREATED A FAILURE IN THE TUBING IF LEFT ALONE. WE ADJUSTED THE ROTATION OF THE TUBING FITTINGS AND WE BELIEVE WE HAVE SOLVED THIS PROBLEM OURSELVES, BUT DUE TO THE FACT THAT THESE ARE FORD FACTORY INSTALLED GFI CNG SYSTEMS, WE THOUGHT WE SHOULD GENERATE SOME ACTION. WE ALSO HAVE THREE GFI AFTERMARKET CNG KITS THAT HAVE ALMOST THE SAME CONFIGURATION BUT THE FUEL LINE HOLE CUT INTO THE BOTTOM OF THE BED IS APPROXIMATELY 2" AND HAS A BOOT THAT CENTERS THE TUBING IN THAT HOLE. THIS APPEARS TO OFFER MUCH BETTER PROTECTION TO THE TUBING
FOUND TAG ATTACHED TO FRAME "DEFECTIVE MATERIAL DO NOT USE! L/S BAD PERFORMANCE. *AK
THE TRUCK WAS PARKED AND THE EMERGENCY BRAKE SET. IT ROLLED DOWN AN INCLINE AND STRUCK ME WITH THE DRIVER SIDE OF THE TRUCK AND KNOCKED ME UNCONCIOUS AND CRASHED INTO THE GARAGE. I REALLY DON NOT REMEMBER ANYTHING AS I WAS OUT.*AK
CONSUMER HAD SEEN COOLANT COMING FROM VEHICLE. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER FOR REPAIRS WHERE THEY FOUND A TRANSMISSION LEAKAGE. *AK
WHILE TRAVELING AT 30 MPH VEHICLE RAN OVER A SMALL POT AND BOTH AIR BAGS INADVERTENTLY DEPLOYED. DEALER / MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED, AND UNWILLING TO ASSIST IN THIS MATTER. PLEASE FEEL FREE TO PROVIDE ANY FURTHER DETAILS ON THIS ISSUE. *AK
HALOGEN HEADLIGHTS CAUSE OTHER DRIVERS TO THINK HIGH BEAMS ARE BEING USED, THIS CAUSED DRIVER TO CRASH, WHEN DRIVER OF ANOTHER VEHICLE, BEING DRIVEN IN OPPOSITE DIRECTION, BECAME ENRAGED AND FLASHED THEIR HIGH BEAMS JUST AT THE RIGHT MOMENT, BLINDING DRIVER'S VIEW, POSSIBLE DESIGN FLAW CAUSING THE OTHER VEHICLE'S DRIVERS PROBLEMS VISUALLY. WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE LOST ALL STEERING CONTROL DUE TO SHEARING OF THE SECTOR SHAFT, THIS RESULTED IN A COLLISION WITH A TREE, BOTH THE CONSUMER AND PASSENGER WERE INJURED IN THE ACCIDENT (ATTORNEY FOR CONSUMER). *MJS
THE METAL CABLE HOLDING THE SPARE TIRE UP "BROKE" CAUSING THE TIRE TO FALL OFF. HAD THIS HAPPENED ON THE HIGHWAY AND NOT A MALL PARKING LOT, CONSIDERABLE DAMAGE, IF NOT LOSS OF LIFE COULD HAVE BEEN THE RESULT.

ACCELERATOR PEDAL STICKING/LOCKING UP INTERMITTENTLY. VEHICLE BEEN INTO DEALER SHOP ON THREE OCCASIONS, AND UNABLE TO DUPLICATE PROBELM. *AK CONSUMER TOOK VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE PURCHASE TOOK PLACE, DEALER REPLACED THROTTLE BODY AND FIXED PROBLEM. DRIVER WINDOW INTERMITTENTLY INOPERABLE, DEALER REPLACED WINDOW SWITCH. *SLC
AFTER THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED THEY CAUGHT ON FIRE AND HAD 6 TO 8 INCH FLAMES COMING OUT AND UP TOWARD MY FACE. THE SERVICE MANAGER CONTACTED FORD AND I WAS TOLD THERE WAS NO FAULT BRCAUSE THEY DEPLOYED AND ONLY MY HAND GOT BURNED WHEN I PUT IT OUT BUT THE AIR BAG AND THE FIRE WERE RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME , I WAS TOLD THE AIRBAG CATCHING ON FIRE WAS AN ACCEPTABLE RISK AND NOT A DEFECT. ACCEPTABLE BY WHOSE STANDARD? BEING BURNT IS BETTER THAN BEING DEAD BUT BEING ALIVE AND NOT BURNT AND NOT DEAD IS WHAT I EXPECTED.*AK

RCEIVED INJURIES: LEFT SHOULDER/ARM (SEATBELT & THROWN INTO DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR), NECK, UP'R BACK, RT KNEE, LFT LOWER SHIN (LASCARATION, SCRAPES & BRUISES FROM HITTING EMERGENCY BRAKE.) TRANSPORTED TO HOSPITAL. FIRE DEPT NOTED/CONCERNED THAT SRS DIDN'T DEPLOY. "BRAND NEW TRUCK, AIRBAGS DIDN'T WORK..WHY?" PAID $30,000 FOR TRUCK W/SRS & DEFECTIVE. DEFECTIVE SENSOR, NO AIRBAGS INSTALLED, OR AIRBAG MANUFACTURER DEFECT. CONTACTED HILL FORD, WAS TOLD, "SOMETIMES AIRBAGS WORK, SOMETIMES THEY DON'T." I SAID, "SOMETIMES YOU DIE, SOMETIMES YOU DON'T?" NOT ACCEPTING THAT ANSWER FOR A SAFETLY FEATURE. WOULD OF WALKED AWAY FROM HEAD-ON CRASH W/LITTLE TO NO INJURIES. SRS WOULD OF STABALIZED ME & I WOULDN'T OF BEEN THROWN AROUND OR HIT DASH BOARD. WHY DIDN'T SRS OPERATE AT ALL? AMERICAN FAMILY INS BREAKING DOWN TRUCK FOR TOTAL DAMAGE ESTIMATATION. OVER A WK SINCE ACCIDENT..NO ANSWERS, NO TRUCK. FRAME BENT & CAP TWISTED IN ACCIDENT....BUT DO HAVE INJURIES & DEFECTIVE SRS. WHY? *AK
WHILE TRAVELING AT 75 MPH, THE RIGHT FRONT TIRE BLEW, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO PULL TO THE RIGHT DAMAGING THE BRAKE HOSE. *YH
WAS TRAVELING APPROXIMATELY 55MPH WHEN ANOTHER VEHICLE PULLED IN FRONT SUDDENLY AND VEHICLE WAS REAR ENDED. UPON IMPACT, AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. PASSENGER HIT HEAD ON WINDSHIELD, AND DRIVER SUFFERED CHEST & BACK INJURIES.*AK THE THIRD PASSENGER SUFFERED CHEST AND BACK INJURIES AS WELL. *YH
WHEN PRESSING ACCELERATOR PEDAL NOTHING WAS HAPPENING. ONCE WHILE PULLING INTO AN INTERSECTION, VEHICLE FAILED TO MOVE AGAIN. PROBLEM WAS INTERMITTENT. *AK PROBLEMS SEEM TO OCCUR WHEN ENGINE IS COLD AND IDLING, THEN PRESSING ON THE ACCELERATOR AND THE ENGINE WILL NOT ADVANCE, CONSUMER PLANS TO TAKE TO DEALER FOR REPAIRS. *TT EA04006 HAS IFS.

DEALER AND FORD SAID NORMAL. 2 INDEPENDENT MECHANICS DISCOVER BENT DRIVESHAFT. DEALER TOLD, DEALER FINALLY REPLACES DRIVESHAFT. TRUCK NOW OK. HAVE HEARD MANY OTHERS COMPLAIN OF SAME PROBLEM/FORD/DEALER TREATMENT.
REAR SEAT BELTS WILL NOT HOLD CHILD IN SAFETY SEAT. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER ,AND DEALER STATED THAT IT WAS NOT SAFE TO HAVE A CHILD IN A CHILD SAFETY SEAT IN REAR SEAT. WHEN TURNING A CORNER CHILD SEAT WILL TIP OVER. ONE OF CAPTAIN'S CHAIR SEAT BELT WILL NOT RETRACT. CONSUMER ALMOST HAD TO CUT BELT IN ONE INCIDENT TO AVOID PASSENGER FROM BEING CHOKED.
