WHILE TRAVELING AT 60 MPH THE SPEEDOMETER DROPPED TO 25 MPH AND THE "LOW RANGE" LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE NEVER SLOWED AND THE 4 WHEEL DRIVE LOW DID NOT ENGAGE. THE PROBLEM OCCURS SPORADICALLY AT ALL SPEEDS.*AK
UPON STARTING VEHICLE AND PUTTING INTO GEAR, VEHICLE HAD INSTANT ACCELERATION. RPMS WENT FROM 1000 TO 4500 WITHOUT HITTING THE ACCELERATOR. THIS HAPPENED WHILE FOOT WAS ON THE BRAKE PEDAL *AK *SLC

WHILE EXITING THE LEFT BACK DOOR OF VEHICLE, CONSUMER'S PANT LEG CAUGHT ON THE BOTTOM DOOR LATCH LOCATED JUST BELOW THE BACK FLOORBOARD, CONSUMER FELL TO FLOOR WITH PANT LEG STILL CAUGHT ON HOOP OF FLOORBOARD, CONSUMER WAS WEARING PROPERLY FITTED CLOTHES AND SUSTAINED MAJOR INJURIES TO THE LEG WHERE A CAST HAS BEEN WORN FOR 12 WEEKS, CONSUMER MAY NOT HAVE A 100% RECOVERY. *SLC

WHILE PULLING A TRAILER WITH A PORTABLE TOILET ON A DIRT ROAD AT 10-15 MPH WITH DRIVER ONLY BOTH AIR BAGS DEPLOYED WITHOUT CAUSE. DEALER NOTIFIED. *AK
THIS IS THE 3RD TIME I'VE HAD THIS PLOBLEM! I HAVE HAD MY TRUCK INT THE SHOP ON 2 OTHER OCCATIONS FOR THE SAME ELECTRICAL PROBLEM.TODAY MAKES THE 3RD TIME I WENT TO START MY TRUCK & THE STARTER STAYED ENGAGED & ENERGIZED!THE FIRST 2 TIMES THE STARTER QUIT AFTER ABOUT 40 SECONDS ,TODAY (10/12/2000) THE STARTER STAYED ENGAGED UNTILL THE STARTER, WIRING,RELAYS& POSIBLY THE BATTERY ALL BURNED UP! I'VE BEEN TOLD I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO IS HAVING THIS PROBLEM. *AK
SUBMITTING THIS FORM AFTER NOTICING A CRACK HAD FORMED IN THE DOOR SKIN IN THE LOWER RIGHT OPENING WHERE THE WINDOW IS. NOTICED THIS DEFECT IN MANY VEHICLES LIKE MINE AND ALTHOUGH AM AWARE OF A QUICK FIX THAT FORD IS PERFORMING, I DO NOT BELIEVE THIS IS SATISFACTORY DUR TO THE PRICE AND AGE OF THE VEHICLE. FEEL THAT THIS REQUIRES A NEW DOOR WITH STRENGTHENED POINTS WHERE THE CRACKS HAVE APPEARED. THE CRACKING POINTS TO WEAKENED STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY AND POSSIBLY A SAFETY HAZARD IN AN ACCIDENT AS THE DOOR STRUCTURE IS WEAKENED.*AK

EMERGENCY FLASHERS CANNOT BE USED FOR MORE THAN A FEW MINUTES WITHOUT OVERHEATING THE COMPONENT THUS CAUSING A COMPLETE FAILURE OF EMERGENCY FLASHERS, TURN, PARKING, BRAKE LIGHTS,RUNNING LIGHTS. SINCE I PURCHASED THE FRONT END WOULD NOT STAY ALIGNED AND THE ENGINE WOULD LOSE POWER THE DEALERSHIP WOULD NOT FIX IT AND FORD MOTOR COMPANY DID NOT CARE I PUT UP WITH THIS FOR A YEAR UNTIL FORD GAVE ME $3,5000 DOWN FOR A NEW VEHICLE AND I NO LONGER HAVE THE VIN INDICATED I TRADED THE LEMON AND THEY RIPPED ME OFF DURING PURCHASE. *AK
WE WERE DRIVING THE RV IN EASTERN COLORADO ON HOT PAVEMENT. IT WAS ABOUT 93 F. SUDDENLY THE TIRE LOST ALL OF ITS TREAD AND DAMAGED THE BACK OF THE RV. LUCKY FOR US WE HAD DUAL WHEELS OR WE HAD DUAL WHEELS OR WE WOULD HAVE HAD A CRASH. THE TIRE WAS ORIGINAL AND ONLY HAD ABOUT 6200 MILES ON IT.( DOT NUMBER: VD1L1XD279 TIRE SIZE: 75R16 )
CONSUMER WAS TRAVELING ABOUT 50MPH WHEN ANOTHER VEHICLE CROSSED IN FRONT, AND CONSUMER' S VEHICLE HIT OTHER VEHICLE ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR. AIRBAGS DIDN'T DEPLOY. CONSUMER SUSTAINED CHEST/ UPPER SHOULDER, AND KNEE INJURIES. DEALER SAID THAT AIRBAGS SHOULD HAVE DEPLOYED. DEALER WA SWILLING TO LOOK AT VEHICLE ONCE IT WAS REPAIRED. *AK
WHILE DRIVING ABOUT 50 MPH TRUCK WAS INVOLVED CRASH WITH A 1997 NISSAN, AND THERE WAS NO DEPLOYMENT OF DRIVER'S SIDE OR PASSENGER'S SIDE AIR BAGS. TRUCK'S FRONT END WAS DAMAGED. TRUCK WAS TOWED TO A JUNK YARD. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY FURTHER INFORMATION. *AK
AFTER VEHICLE STARTED, VEHICLE RAN ROUGH. PURE GAS VAPOR (HEAVY WHITE FOG) PUMPED OUT THE EXHAUST PIPE. WHEN VEHICLE WAS LIFTED FOR TOW, GASOLINE POURED FROM THE EXHAUST SYSTEM. VEHICLE SERVICED AT MARK FORD MERCURY INC, 493 DANBURY ROAD, NEW MILFORD, CT 860-354-2226
TIRE STARTED TO SEPERATE ON INTERSTATE DRIVING. ROARING, VIBRATION. WE STOPPED AND REPLACE TIRE WITH SPARE IMMEDIATELY. TIRE HAS BEEN TAKEN TO FOUR GOODRICH DEALERS IN ATHENS AREA, AND WE WERE INFORMED EACH TIME BY ALL THAT THEY WOULD NOT HONOR ANY WARRANTY EVEN THOUGH IT WAS ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT WITH LESS THAN 10,000 MILES ON VEHICLE AT TIME OF INCIDIENT. THEY ALL SAID IT WAS A FORD PROBLEM. FORD ROAD HAZZARD SERVICE CONTACTED 8/15/00 WITH REPORT, AND THEY PROMISED IN AUGUST TO HAVE PURCHASING DEALER CALL US TO REPLACE THE TIRE. FOLLOWING UP WITH ORIGINAL PURCHASE DEALER SERVICE CENTER IN COMMERCE, WAS INFORMED BY SHOP MANAGER THEY KNEW NOTHING ABOUT A CLAIM, THEY WOULD NOT RESOLVE OR REPLACE TIRE , IT WAS A GOODRICH TIRE ISSUE TO REPLACE IT. CALLED FORD CONSUMER LINE AGAIN, GIVEN PROMISE THAT SOMEONE WOULD CALL US BACK, STILL WAITING ON THAT CALL. CALLED GOODRICH, CORPORATE CONSUMER LINE, AND WAS TOLD A GOODRICH DEALER, ANY THAT WE COULD DRIVE TO, WOULD REPLACE THE TIRE. UPON DRIVING AROUND ATHENS, GA. WITH TIRE AND VEHICLE LAST WEEK, NO GOODRICH DEALER WAS WILLING TO CALL GOODRICH CORPORATE TO SEE IF THEY COULD GET A REPLACEMENT AND AUTHORIZATION FOR SAME. ALL GOODRICH DEALERS HAVE TOLD US TO CALL FORD TO REPLACE A NEW TIRE UNDER WARRANTY IF VEHICLE IS STILLUNDER WARRANTY. WE STILL DO NOT HAVE A TIRE. WE HAVE BEEN TOLD BY FORD CONSUMER LINE, BY ROAD HAZARD HOTLINE, NOW THAT GOODRICH TIRES ARE NOT PART OF ANY RECALL AND THEY WILL NOT REPLACE ANY TIRE FOR FREE EVEN THOUGH THE FORD WARRANTY, AND ORIG EQUIPMENT BOOKLET IN NEW VEHICHLE GLOVEBOX STATES THEY ARE LIABLE FOR WARRANTY REPLACEMENT ON A NEW VEHICLE WITH ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT TIRES. VIBRIATION IN THE STEERING WHEEL AT 65 MPH, TOOK TO DEALER AT 300 MILES, AGAIN AT 2200 MILES TO ANOTHER DEALER AGAIN AT APPROX 2900MILES WITH CONSTANT VIBRIATION IN STEERING WHEEL AT 70MPH, FORD ENGINEER TEST DROVE VEHICLE AND SAID ALL FORDS WITH A 5.4 ENGINE HAD VIBRIATION IN THE STEERING WHEEL. WHEN I WAS ORGINIALLY TOLD THIS I THOUGHT I WAS GETTING A SNOW JOB, AFTER HAVING THE TIRES BALANCED AND ROTATED THE VIBRIATION WAS WORST THEN IT WAS WHEN I FIRST TOOK IT IN. I DROVE ANOTHER NEW F-150 AND IT VIBRIATED WORST THEN MINE DOES. I DO NOT THINK FORD SHOULD BE ABLE TO PUT A PRODUCT OUT KNOWING THAT IT HAS A VIBRIATION BUILT INTO THE VEHICLE AS FROM WHAT THE FORD ENGINEER SAID I HAD BETTER GET USE TO IT AND I DO NOT THINK THIS IS RIGHT AT ALL. I ALSO THINK FORD SHOULD FIX THESE VEHICLE OR GIVE ME BACK THE $24,000.00 I SPENT ON IT. I SNET A LETTER TO FORD ON 29 JULY 2000 AND THEY HAVE NOT ANSWERED IT AS OF TODAY. THANKS T AT ALL AT

WHILE TURNING INTO MY DRIVEWAY WITH BRAKES APPLIED I LOST POWER STEERING AND POWER BRAKES TOTALLY, ENGINE ALMOST STALLED. I IMMEDIALY PUT TRANSMISSION IN NEUTRAL AND REGAINED ALL POWER BACK. THIS HAPPENED TO ME TWICE. WILL BRING TO DEALER SO THE CAN DOCUMENT IT.
AT APPROXIMATELY 12,000 MILES ENGINE WILL STALL WHEN CONSUMER APPLIES CLUTCH AND WHEN BRAKING FOR A STOP. RPM'S DROP IN VEHICLE, AND ENGINE WILL STOP RUNNING. DEALERSHIP HAS EXAMINED VEHICLE APPROXIMATELY 4 TIMES, AND CONTINUED TO RESET COMPUTER FOR A CALIBRATION ERROR. BUT, FAILED TO REMEDY PROBLEM. *AK
TRUCK WANDERS AS IF IT HAS A MIND OF ITS OWN. WITH THE STEERING WHEEL STEADY IT WANDERS FROM LEFT TO RIGHT . WE HAVE HAD IT IN THE SHOP 7 TIMES SINCE PURCHASED AND THEY ALIGN IT EACH TIME WITH NO CHANGE. DEALER TOLD ME AT THE TIME OF PURCHASE THAT HE WOULD TAKE IT BACK IF I WASN'T SATISFIED, BUT HAS NOW DENIED SAYING IT.WE HAVE BEEN THROUGH THE REVIEW BOARD PROCESS.THEY OFFERED A REPLACEMENT TRUCK, BUT I WAS SO AFRAID OF GETTING ANOTHER ONE THAT I JUST ASKED FOR A REFUND, WHICH THEY REFUSED. THE GENTLEMAN THAT THEY SENT TO DRIVE WITH ME SAID THAT AN ALIGNMENT WOULD NOT FIX THE PROBLEM, THAT IT WAS A DESIGN PROBLEM. HE SAID THAT IT WOULD BE EVEN WORSE IF WE HAD A HEAVY LOAD IN IT. IN HIS REPORT HOWEVER, HE TOLD THE REVIEW BOARD THAT ALL IT NEEDED WAS AN ALIGNMENT .THE ONLY TIME I DRIVE THE TRUCK NOW IS IN AN EMERGENCY SITUATION AS IT IS TOO STRESSFUL TO DRIVE ON A REGULAR BASIS..*AK

MY DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AT 65 ON A RAINY DAY GOING TO COLLEGE REGISTRATION IN NACODOOGES TEXAS AND THE TRUCK JUST STARTED TO SPIN. SHE WENT ACROSS THE MEDIAN NEARLY STIKING ON COMING TRAFFIC ON THE DIVIDED HIGHWAY. THE POLICE WERE CALLED AND SHE WAS PULLED OUT. SHE CALLED ABOUT A HOUR LATER IN A PANIC AGAIN SAYING IT HAD HAPPENED AGAIN. SHE WAS GOING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AND THE TRUCK JUST STARTED TO SPIN. THIS TIME A DRIVER PULLED HER OUT AND SAID HER TREAD WAS BAD. THIS WAS A 5 MONTH OLD VEHICLE. THIS WAS SUNDAY SO ON MONDAY I CALLED THE DEALER SAID MY DAUGHTER WAS GOING DOWN THE ROAD AND THE TRUCK SPUN OUT TWICE AND ASKED HIM IF HE HAD HEARD OF ANY TIRE PROBLEMS WITH THE FORDS AND I WAS TOLD BY THE SERVICE MANAGER DAVID ADAMCECK HE HAD NOT HEARD OF ANY TIRE PROBLEMS WITH THE FORDS. MY DAUGHTER WOULD NO LONGER DRIVE HER 5 MONTH OLD VEHICLE. I REPLACED THE TIRES WITH MICHELAINS BEFORE I KNEW OF ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE FIRESTONES SO I NO LONGER HAVE THE TIRES. I AM NOW UPSET THAT MY DAUGHTER CAME CLOSE TO A SERIOUS ACCIDENT IF NOT FATAL AND FORD KNEW THOSE TIRES WERE BAD. I CALLED FORD TO REGISTER A COMPLAINT AND WAS TOLD THIS NOT PART OF THE RECALL AND NOTHING THEY COULD DO. THERE ONLY CONCERN WAS ANYBODY INJURED BUT BECAUSE MY DAUGHTER FLEW ACROSS A DIVIDED MEDIAN AND DON'T HIT THE SEMI BUT MISSED IT BY A FEW INCHES THAT ALL IS WELL. I AM DISAPPIONTED AFTER SEEING FORDS PRESIDENT ON TV THAT THEY ARE NOT MORE CONCERNED AND THAT THEY WOULDN'T TAKE CARE OF A OBVIOUS PROBLEM THEY ARE ARE HAVING. PARKED MY FORD F150 IN THE SCHOOL PARKING LOT AT 7:30 AM. AT 8:15, I WAS CALLED TO THE FRONT OF THE BUILDING BECAUSE MY TRUCK HAD STARTED ON FIRE AND WAS BEING PUT OUT WITH A FIRE EXTINGUISHER BY THE SCHOOL POLICE OFFICER. THE INSURANCE COMPANY BELIEVES THE FIRE WAS CAUSED BY MY CRUISE CONTROL (HAD NOT WORKED IN THREE TO FOUR MONTHS). CAUSED $5,123 WORTH OF DAMAGE TO THE TRUCK.*AK
ON JUNE 16,2005 AT AROUND 2AM,WHILE WE WERE SLEEPING, I AWOKE TO MY TRUCK ALARM GOING OFF. I LOOKED OUT THE BEDROOM WINDOW AND SAW MY 2000 FORD F150 ON FIRE. MY TRUCK BURNED. I CONTACTED FORD AND THEY SENT ME A LETTER SAYING THERE WAS A RECALL AND IT WAS MY RESPONSIBLITY TO TAKE THE TRUCK IN. I DID NOT RECEIVE ONE OF THESE RECALLS. PLEASE ADVISE
DRIVER'S AIR BAG INADVERTENTLY DEPLOYED AFTER SHIFTING GEAR FROM REVERSE TO DRIVE. DEPLOYED AIR BAG CAUSED BURNS TO DRIVER'S SHIRT/CHEST. ALSO, HALF OF AIR BAG MELTED. DEALER/MANUFACTURER WILL BE CONTACTED. FEEL FREE TO PROVIDE FURTHER DETAILS.
VEHICLE IDLED ROUGHLY. VEHICLE WARMED UP AND IDLED ROUGHLY. ALSO THERE WAS AN EXHAUST LEAK. DEALERSHIP TOLD CONSUMER THAT HE NEEDED A NEW CATALYTIC CONVERTER BECAUSE THERE WAS A BAD SMELL, LIKE ROTTEN EGGS. *AK
THE VEHICLE STALLS NUMEROUS TIMES I HAVE BEEN INVOLVED IN 1 MINOR ACCIDENT WITH A STATIONARY OBJECT I WAS ALMOST HIT BY A TRACTOR TRAILER WHEN THE VEHICLE STALLED AT AN INTERSECTION I HAVE TRIED NUMEROUS TIMES TO RESOLVE THE PROBLEM TO NO ASSURANCE THAT THE VEHICLE IS GOOD TO DRIVE I HAVE CONTACTED FORD AND THE DEALERSHIP AND ALSO BEEN CONTACTED BY THEM I HAVE BEEN GIVEN THE RUN AROUND NUMEROUS TIMES. THE TRUCK HAS BEEN TO 2 DIFFERENT SHOPS AND IT GOES BACK IN ON 9/4/00 THEY HAVE TRIED 3 TIMES TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM AND ONLY ONCE DID THEY DO SOMETHING TO TRY TO CORRECT IT AND IT HAS NOT WORKED
POSSIBLE ENGINE FAILURE IS CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO STALL INTERMITTENTLY WHEN REACHING THE TOP OF A FAIRLY STEEP HILL. DEALER RAN DIAGNOSTIC TEST BUT WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM.

WHILE TRAVELING EASTBOUND ON FREEWAY, LEFT REAR WHEEL FLEW OFF TRUCK, OVER CONCRETE MEDIAN BARRIER INTO WESTBOUND TRAFFIC. AN ACCIDENT SUBSEQUENTLY ENSUED IN WESTBOUND LANES INVOLVING PREGNANT WOMAN.
