NORMAL EVERY DAY USE. SERVICE ENGINE SOON LIGHT TURNS ON DPFE SENSOR AND OR EGR VALVE HAS FAILED. FROM WHAT I'VE RESEARCHED IN FORUMS IT IS A VERY COMMON FAILURE AMONGST FORDS. ENGINES THAT SUFFER THIS IDLE VERY ROUGH, AT TIMES SO MUCH THAT THE ENGINE STALLS OUT WHEN IT COMES TO A STOP. AT FIRST I CHANGED THE AIR AND FUEL FILTER THINKING THIS MIGHT SOLVE THE PROBLEM. SOON AFTER I HAD MY TRUCK SCANNED FOR TROUBLE CODES(OBD II) AND DISCOVERED THE ABOVE MENTIONED PROBLEM. EVERY SHOP I'VE TAKEN MY TRUCK FOR ESTIMATES HAS TOLD ME THIS IS A VERY COMMON DEFECT WITH FORDS. *JB
MY HUSBAND WAS HAS INVOLVED IN AN AUTOMOBILE ACCIDENT ON JULY 24, 2004. HE WAS DRIVING A 2002 FORD F-150 XL. HE LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND HE ROLLED OVER SEVERAL TIMES. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. I AM VERY CONCERNED ABOUT THIS SITUATION DUE TO THE FACT THAT THIS WAS A LIFE-THREATENING SITUATION. MY HUSBAND COULD HAVE HAD SUSTAINED SEVERE HEAD INJURIES BECAUSE THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. *AK
THE 2002 FORD F-150 HEADLIGHT SWITCH BREAKS UPON TURNING ON HEADLIGHTS. IT HAS NOT CAUSED ME TO WRECK, HOWEVER IT IS A PROBLEM WITH TURNING LIGHTS ON AT NIGHT, FOG, OR RAIN. THIS IS THE THIRD TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED. I ORDERED IT FROM PERRY FORD OF POWAY CALIFORNIA, BUT THE HEADLIGHT SWITCH IS ON BACK ORDER. THAT IS TELLING ME THAT ALOT OF PEOPLE NOT JUST MY SELF, ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. THIS SHOULD BE A SAFETY RECALL.*AK
CONSUMER STATED THAT HER SON WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, LOST CONTROL OF VEHICLE, AND HAD TO RUN OFF INTO A DITCH. THE AIR BAG EXPLODED, AND THREW SON OUT INTO THE FIELD. THE PASSENGER'S SEAT BELT WAS WRAPPED AROUND HIS NECK. ALSO, WHEN THE AIR BAG EXPLODED AND THREW SON OUT OF THE VEHICLE THE AIR BAG MODULE WENT WITH HIM AND LANDED WITH HIM. CONSUMER'S SON SUSTAINED CHEMICAL BURNS. CONSUMER STATED THAT SHE NEVER READ ANYWHERE THAT THE AIR BAG MODULE EJECTED FROM THE STEERING WHEN IT DEPLOYED. *AK
WHILE DRIVING THERE WAS SEVERE VIBRATION IN THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE. DEALERSHIP REPLACED ALL FOUR TIRES, BUT NEEDED TO REPLACE THE FRONT DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE TIRES AGAIN AT CONSUMER'S EXPENSE. *AK
BLOWN SPARK PLUG OUT OF 2002 FORD LIGHTNING. HAD TO REPLACE RIGHT CYNLINDER HEAD . *AK
WHEN USING THE AUTOMATIC DOOR LOCKING MECHANISM THE PART PINCHED THE SKIN OF THE DRIVER'S ARM. *AK
CONCERNS REGARDING THE FORD F150 2002 GAS AND BRAKE PEDAL. *MR THE CONSUMER WAS ABLE TO CORRECT THE FOOT PLACEMENT AND AVOIDED SERIOUS CONSEQUENCES. IN EMERGENCY SITUATIONS, THE CONSUMERS FOOT SHOT DOWN, PER REFLEX, BUT THE PEDALS DID NOT MATCH THE PLACEMENT OF THE CONSUMERS FOOT WHICH HAD COME DOWN ON BOTH THE GAS AND BRAKE PEDALS. *SC *JB
AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SLIPPING AND HARD BANG WHEN IT GO INTO GEAR. FORD SERVICE DEPT.DIAOGNOSE TRANS OP, NO CODES,LINE PRESSURE TEST.R110-N-75 OD95 L-95. R&R TRANSMISSION PAN FOR INSPECTION, PIECES OF BRASS BUSHINGS IN PAN. R&R TRANS TO OVERHAUL. REPLACED OD PLANETARY ASSY .BUSHINGS BETWEEN GEARS COME APART) FLUSHED COLLING LINES,REPLACED CONVERTER(METAL CONTAMINATION.) REPLACED VALVE BODY(VALVES STICKING). CLEARED PCM MEMORY & REFLASHED PCM. ROAD TEST. ALL THE ABOVE WORK WAS DONE ACCORDING TO THE INVOICE. WHEN I DROVE THE TRUCK I COULD HEAR A NOISE THAT WASN'T THERE BEFORE, I TOOK THE TRUCK BACK TO THE DEALER AND CHECKED THINGS OUT AND TOLD ME EVERY THING WAS FINE, BUT IT WASN'T. *TR
DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD ABOUT 55 MPH AND HEARD A TERRIBLE SOUND COME FROM THE ENGINE. IT SOUNDED LIKE A PISTON DISCONECTED FROM THE CONNECTING ROD. I HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE NEAREST DEALER. THEIR DIAGNOSIS IS THAT THE #3 SPARKPLUG LOOSEND UP AND DAMAGED THE PLUG HOLE. THE SAID THAT THE HEAD NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND THE BIIL WOULD RANGE FROM $3500-4500. I DID NOT HAVE THE MONEY TO GET THE VEHICLE REPAIRED SO THE VEHICLE SAT AT THE DEALER FOR 5 MONTHS. WHEN I CALLED THE DEALER THEY SAID THERE WAS A REPAIR THAT COULD BE DONE BUT IT WASN'T RECOMENDED BY FORD. THE REPAIR WAS TO REMOVE THE HEAD AND SLEAVE THE BLOWN OUT SPARK PLUG HOLE. I HAD THEM REPAIR IT THIS WAY. THE COST TO ME WAS $1796.00 AND THERE WAS NO WARANTY BECAUSE IT WAS NOT A FORD RECOMENDED REPAIR. MY CONCERN IS THAT THIS SEEMS TO BE A FAIRLY COMMON PROBLEM AND COULD HAPPEN AGAIN AT GREAT EXPENSE TO THE CONSUMER. NOT ONLY IS THERE GREAT EXPENSE BUT, IF THIS WERE TO HAPPEN IN HEAVY TRAFFIC IT COULD CAUSE A MAJOR ACCIDENT.*AK
I WAS DRIVING DOWN SR 33 IN POLK CITY WHEN IT SEEMED AS IF MY CAR WAS SLOWING DOWN. I HAD THE PEDAL DEPRESSED BUT THE TRUCK CONTINUED TO SLOW DOWN. I HAD TO PULL OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. WHEN THE SPEEDOMETER FELL BACK DOWN TO ZERO I ATTEMPTED TO TAKE OFF AGAIN. ONCE AGAIN, THE TRUCK WOULD GET TO 50 AND THEN NOT SHIFT TO THE NEXT GEAR. THIS WAS THE FIRST AND ONLY SIGNS SOMETHING WAS WRONG. I ASSUMED IT WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE TRANSMISSION. I DROVE TO WORK (15 MILES) IN SECOND GEAR, CALLED A TOW TRUCK AND HAD IT TOWED TO LAKELAND FORD. I WAS TOLD THE OVERDRIVE CLUTCH BURNED UP AND THE DIRECT DRIVE PAK BURNED UP. THE FORD DEALERSHIP WANTED $2,326.09 TO FIX A 2002 VEHICLE THAT IS NOT EVEN TWO YEARS OLD AND HAS 44,176 MILES ON IT. MOST OF THE MILES ON THIS VEHICLE WERE HIGHWAY MILES ALWAYS DRIVEN WITH OVERDRIVE ON AND ONLY WAS SOMETHING TOWED. THIS VEHICLE HAS THE TOWING PACKAGE IN IT SO THIS PROBLEM SHOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED. MY WARRANTY WAS 3 YEARS/36,000 MILES. TRUCK IS NOW AT AAMCO WITH TRANSMISSION BEING REBUILT. *LA
WINDSHIELD SEAL LEAKED (RAIN) ALONG ROOFLINE CAUSING MULTIPLE ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS. VEHICLE HAS MULTIPLE SYSTEM WARNING LIGHTS VISIBLE ON DASH. SHORT CIRCUIT SOUNDS COMING FROM BEHIND DASHBOARD. WARNING LIGHTS, BLOWER MOTOR AND HEAD LIGHTS OPERATE WITHOUT KEY IN THE IGNITION CAUSING BATTERY TO BE DRAINED. WIPERS CUT OFF WITHOUT WARNING. DOOR WINDOWS STOP WORKING WITHOUT WARNING. VEHICLE SHIFTS INTO FOUR-WHEEL DRIVE WITHOUT WARNING. ENGINE RACES WHILE PARKED (REVS TO 4000 RPM AND RETURNS TO NORMAL). SALES MAN INFORMED THAT FORD WILL NOT COVER THE PROBLEM BECAUSE THE TRUCK IS OUT OF WARRANTY AND TO BRING TRUCK TO DEALER (5/3/04). TRUCK WOULD NOT START UNTIL 5/8/04. SEAL TO WINDSHIELD SEPARATED FROM VEHICLE ON LEFT SIDE WHILE DRIVING TO DEALERSHIP (5/10/04). THE TRUCK NOW HAS EXCESSIVE WIND NOISE. TRUCK WILL NO LONGER START (5/11/04). I CALLED FORDS CUSTOMER AND REQUESTED THAT A REPRESENTATIVE FROM FORD INSPECT THE TRUCK. CUSTOMER SERVICE ASKED THAT THE TRUCK BE TOWED TO A FORD DEALER. TRUCK WAS TOWED TO LOCAL DEALER. DEALER DID NOT WANT TO HELP ME CONTACT FORD AFTER I INFORMED THEM THAT THE TRUCK HAS A DEFECTIVE WINDSHIELD SEAL. DEALERSHIP INFORMS ME ON 5/13/04 THAT THE ZONE SUPERVISOR FROM FORD SAID THAT THERE WAS NOTHING THAT COULD BE DONE ABOUT THE PROBLEM. IN ADDITION, DEALER REFUSES TO PUT STATEMENT IN WRITING. THE DEALER ALSO INFORMED ME THAT FOR A FEE, THEY COULD SEAL THE WINDSHIELD AND DIAGNOSIS THE PROBLEM BUT THE DEALERSHIP WHERE THE TRUCK WAS PURCHASED FROM SHOULD DO THE REPAIRS. *AK
DT: CALLER SAYS THEY HAVE PROBLEMS WITH THE FRAMES ON 3 AMBULANCES; AND THEY WERE ADVISED TO REPORT THIS TO NHTSA. *AK
SINCE PURCHASE OF VEHICLE THREE COILS HAVE GONE BAD AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. I WAS TOLD BY THE MECHANIC AT A FORD DEALERSHIP TO NOT WASH THE MOTOR ON THE VEHICLE. I WAS ALSO TOLD THAT THEY HAVE HAD SEVERAL PROBLEMS WITH THE COIL CONFIGURATION ON ALL FORD, LINCOLN, AND MERCURY VEHICLES SINCE THEY SWITCHED TO INDIVIDUAL COILS FOR EACH CYLINDER. THIS IS VERY EXPENSIVE TO REPLACE AND IT HAS TO BE CHECKED ON THE COMPUTER TO TELL WHICH ONE IS BAD. *JB
2002 FORD F150 AIR BAG DEPLOYED DURING AN ACCIDENT. THE AIR BAG KNOCKED THE CONSUMER OUT OF THE VEHICLE COMPLETELY KNOCKING THE AND GAVE HIM CHEMICAL BURNS. *TS THE CONSUMER WAS WEARING HIS SEAT BELT WHEN THE ACCIDENT OCCURRED. *NM
WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH CONSUMER APPLIED THE BRAKES, FOR A BUMP ON THE HIGHWAY. A CLICKING NOISE WAS HEARD COMING FROM UNDERNEATH THE DASHBOARD. ABS BRAKING SYSTEM DISENGAGED. CAUSING LOSS OF BRAKING POWER. CONSUMER RELEASED THE BRAKE PEDAL. THEN REAPPLIED THE BRAKES IN ORDER TO STOP. CONSUMER HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION, AND MECHANIC DETERMINED THAT THE ABS MODULAR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. *AK
SPARKPLUGS BLEW OUT OF THE HEAD AT 65 MPH ON SVT LIGHTNING. SERVICE MANAGER INDICATED FORD IS AWARE OF THIS HAPPENING BUT THEY ARE NOT ISSUING A RECALL. HE STATED THEY PUT OUT A "WHAT TO DO" IF A VEHICLE COMES IN WITH THIS PROBLEM. UNFORTUNATELY, THAT DOES NOT HELP US CONSUMERS WHO HAVE TO FORK THE BILL.*AK
2002 F-150 SUPER CAB, MAKES A POP RIGHT WHEN STEERING WHEEL IS TURNED IN EITHER DIRECTION, STANDING STILL (VEHICLE RUNNING OR NOT) AND MOVING, ALSO GETTING A VIBRATION AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. PERSONAL INVESTIGATION WAS TO CHECK THE LUGNUTS FOR TIGHTNESS, ALL OK, THEN REMOVED BEARING COVER OFF FRONT WHEELS, FOUND NO LOCKING MECHANISM ON RIGHT FRONT WHEEL BEARING NUT. GOING TO DEALER TOMORROW (4/7/2004) VEHICLE HAS 26,500 MILES. OWNED SINCE NEW, FRONT WHEELS HAVE NEVER BEEN REMOVED. NOTICED SEVERAL "POPPING" COMPLAINTS ON THIS VEHICLE - WONDER IF THEY HAVE LOCKING MECHANISMS ON THEIR BEARING NUTS? *LA
DT: THE CONTACT STATED WINDSHIELD LEAKED IN THE LOWER PASSENGER SIDE. THE FUSE BOX WAS DAMAGED DUE TO THE LEAKING, AND REPLACED. THE WINDSHIELD WAS REPLACED AT CONTACT'S EXPENSE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THEY DID NOT OFFER ANY FREE REMEDY. *AK
TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS: CLUTCH DOES NOT DISENGAGE PROPERLY. DEALER REPLACED CLUTCH ASSEMBLY AT CONSUMER'S EXPENSE. *AK
TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS: CLUTCH DID NOT DISENGAGE PROPERLY. DRIVER HAD TO CHANGE GEARS REPEATEDLY IN ORDER TO SHIFT. THIS PRODUCED DANGEROUS DRIVING PROBLEMS. DEALER REPLACED THE MASTER CYLINDER RELAY AT CONSUMER'S EXPENSE. *AK
IGNITION COIL MISFIRING, VEHICLE EXHIBITED OCCASIONAL MISS FIRE. UPON COLD START AFTER SITTING FOR SEVERAL DAYS PLUME OF BLUE SMOKE FROM TAIL PIPE WAS NOTICED. DEALER COULD NOT DUPLICATE EVENT BUT DETERMINED #1 IGNITION COIL WAS FIRING AT REDUCED CAPACITY. UNIT WAS REPLACED AND INCIDENT OF BLUE SMOKE AT COLD START HAS BEEN REDUCED. *LA
THERE WAS NO COTTER PIN INSTALLED ON THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE SPINDLE. AS A RESULT, THE ENTIRE DRIVER SIDE FRONT WHEEL FELL OFF AND THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO A PARKED CAR. *AK *NM
VIBRATION IN DRIVETRAIN AT HIGHWAY SPEED (BETWEEN 65 -75 MPH). ONLY HAPPENS WHEN TRUCK IS UNDER POWER. AS SOON AS YOU REMOVE YOUR FOOT FROM THE PEDAL, THE VIBRATION GOES AWAY. DRIVE SHAFT WAS REPLACED OVER 6 MONTHS AGO, BUT THAT DID NOT FIX THE ISSUE.*AK
IGNITION COILS HAD TO BE REPLACED 5 TIMES WITHIN THE LAST YEAR. WHEN TAKEN TO GET SERVICED, THEY COULD NOT DETERMINE THE PROBLEM. *NM
DUE TO A DESIGN FLAW IN THE FORD 5.4 ENGINE MY 2002 HARLEY F-150 BLEW A SPARK PLUG LAST WEEKEND (2/15/04). FORD IS ONLY WILLING TO REPLACE THE ONE HEAD WITH THE NEWLY DESIGNED HEAD (AND THAT IS COSTING ME $500 BECAUSE MY TRUCK HAS 40,000 MILES). IT'S A KNOWN DESIGN FLAW AND HAS HAPPENED TO MANY OWERS WITH LESS THAN 10,000 MILES. FORD NEEDS TO STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT.
WHILE TRAVELING IN MY F150 TRUCK AT 65 MPH(CRUISE CONTROL SET) I WAS TOTALLY BLINDED BY THE SUN AND REAR ENDED A FORD FOCUS. MY WIFE AND I WERE WEARING OUR SEATBELTS. NEITHER AIRBAG DEPLOYED WHICH "WOULD HAVE REDUCED MY WIFE'S INJURIES" (HER PHYSICIAN). THE HOOD OF MY F150 WAS BUCKLED LEADING ME TO BELIEVE THAT THE SENSOR SHOULD HAVE ACTIVATED THE AIRBAG. HOW CAN WE BE CERTAIN, IF THE VEHICLE IS REPAIRED, THAT THE AIRBAGS WILL DEPLOY UNDER SIMILIAR CIRCUMSTANCES?
IN COLD WEATHER, WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED, CONSUMER HEARD A LOUD NOISE COME FROM THE ENGINE. THIS CAUSED SERIOUS LOSS OF POWER. TWO DIFFERENT DEALERSHIPS INDICATED THAT IT WAS THE AIR INTAKE SYSTEM, WHICH WAS A COMMON PROBLEM ON THE FORD, F150 VEHICLES. *AK
AFTER ONLY 17000 MILES MY 2002 F-150 TRUCK DEVELOPED A FUEL LEAK IN THE FUEL LINE THAT GOES FROM THE FUEL FILTER TO THE ENGINE. BELOW THE LEAK IS PART OF THE EXHAUST SYSTEM. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2002 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE COULD NOT BE SHIFTED OUT OF NEUTRAL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTICS WHERE THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE CLUTCH WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT FURTHER REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 35,000.
ELECTRICAL: AT 306 MILES THE SOLENOIDS HAD TO BE REPLACED. UPON SHUTTING THE VEHICLE OFF; THE DASH BOARD WOULD STILL ILLUMINATE. ALSO, UPON SHUTTING THE VEHICLE OFF IT WOULD CONTINUE TO RUN. THIS HAS HAPPENED A TOTAL OF FOUR TIMES. THE TRANSMISSION COMPLETELY FAILED WITH NO WARNING. THE CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER, AND WAS TOLD THE WINDSHIELD HAD A LEAK WHICH CORRODED THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. THE ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS STARTED AT 44000 MILES. THE GASKET HAD TO BE REPLACED, AND THE HARNESS WIRING HAD TO BE REPLACED ALSO. UPON TRYING TO START THE VEHICLE AGAIN THE BATTERY WOULD BE COMPLETELY DEAD. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY FURTHER INFORMATION. *JB
I HAVE A 2002 FORD F-150 LIGHTNING 5.4 MOTOR AT A STOP LIGHT IT BLEW THE #2 SPARK PLUG OUT OF THE HEAD.*AK
WHILE ATTEMPTING TO PARK MY TRUCK IN A PARKING LOT DURING THE WINTER MONTH OF JANUARY, I HAD TO MANEUVER OVER A SMALL SNOW PILE THE SIZE OF A SPEED BUMP. AFTER SPINNING MY TIRES IN FOUR WHEEL DRIVE ON THE SLICK SNOWY PARKING LOT, THE TRUCKS FRONT TIRES FINALLY MADE IT OVER THE BUMP FROM A PARKED POSITION. AS SOON AS THE TRUCK CAME TO A SUDDEN STOP ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE BUMP, BOTH FRONT AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. THECONSEQUENCES OF THE DEPLOYMENT ARE THAT MY INSURANCE WILL NOT COVER THE ACCIDENT BECAUSE IT WAS A NON-COLLISION ACCIDENT AND THAT THE VALUE OF MY TRUCK NOW IS 6,000 DOLLARS LESS THAN IT WAS WITH AIR BAGS. TO CORRECT THE FAILURE I HAVE CONTACTED FORD MOTOR COMPANY AND HAVE HAD NO SUCH LUCK IN ANYONE ASSUMIONG RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE CAUSE OF THE AIRBAG FAILURE.*AK
WHILE DRIVING YOU EXPERIENCE A HESITATION FORD DEALERSHIP ORIGINALLY SAID IT WAS A SPARK PLUG-AND REPLACED IT-PROBLEM STILL EXISTS- CURRENTLY IT IS BACK AT THE DEALERSHIP-AND AT THIS POINT THEY SAID THERE IS A PROBLEM WITHIN THE TRANSMISSION BUT THEY DO NOT KNOW SPECIFICALLY WHAT PROBLEM IS-OR WHAT IF ANYTHING THEY WILL PAY FOR PROBLEM- IN THE MEANTIME I HAVE TO PAY FOR A RENTAL- THE SUV HAS 48,000 MILES- I HAVE KEPT UP WITH ALL SERVICES. *JB

PASSENGER SIDE REAR TIRE BROKE OFF AT THE AXLE, WHILE GOING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, CAUSING THE TRUCK TO SPIN OUT. UNEXPLAINABLE, DID NOT HAVE AN ACCIDENT FOR THIS TO HAPPEN. *LA
WHILE DRIVING THE CONSUMER LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND AS A RESULT THE VEHICLE LANDED IN A DITCH. THE FRONTAL AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOYED ON IMPACT. *NM THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED WITH MANY NEW PARTS. THE CONSUMER IS CONCERNED THAT THE AIR BAGS MAY NOT DEPLOY IF THE VEHICLE BECOMES INVOLVED IN ANOTHER ACCIDENT. *NM

WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED, THE VEHICLE VIBRATED UNCONTROLLABLY. THE CONSUMER WAS ABLE TO MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE, AND PULLED OVER. THE CONSUMER NOTICED THAT ALL FOUR TIRES HAD TREAD SEPARATION FROM THE SIDEWALL. *AK *SC *JB
I HAVE A 2002, FORD F150, V-6, SUPER CAB,XLT, WITH 47000 MILES. THE ABS LIGHT CAME ON. A FORD SPECIALIST HAS IT DIAGNOSED AS A FAILED ABS COMPUTER MODULE (WHICH CURRENTLY IS A ONE PIECE MODULE). IT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED WITH A NEW REDESIGNED - MODULE CONSISTING OF 3 PARTS - . THIS REPAIR IS VERY COSTLY IN PARTS - OVER $ 900.00. IT DOES NOT AFFECT REGULAR BRAKING AND I ASSUME THAT ABS - BRAKING IS DISABLED AT THIS TIME (DID NOT HAVE TO USE IT SO FAR). IT SEEMS TO ME, THAT THE ABS MODULE IS A BAD DESIGN BY FORD AND THEREFORE IS NOT USED AGAIN IF IT FAILS. THE CABLE THAT HOLDS THE SPARE TIRE SHEARED OFF. AS A RESULT THE TIRE SEPARATED FROM THE VEHICLE WHILE DRIVING ON A DIRT ROAD. *AK *NM
I HAVE A 2002 FORD F150 THAT HAS HEADLIGHTS GOING OFF WHILE DRIVING. I HAVE HAD IT REPAIRED ONLY FOR IT TO REOCCUR. THIS IS NOT A MINOR PROBLEM TO ME AND THE DEALERSHIP THAT I PURCHASED IT FROM IS UNABLE TO MAKE A SERVICE APPOINTMENT FOR A WEEK. I HAVE ANOTHER VEHICLE BUT NOT EVERYONE HAS THAT PRIVELEGE AND I HAVE DECIDED TO SERVICE IT AT ANOTHER LOCATION. MAYBE MY VEHICLE IS THE ONLY ONE AND IT IS JUST SOMETHING THAT HAPPENED. THE CUSHION OF THIS SEAT ABSORBS LIQUIDS AND WILL NOT DRY. THE CONSUMER HAD TO PUT THE CUSHION IN THE DRYER ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, BUT IT WAS STILL WET. THE CUSHION IS GROWING A GREEN MOLD THAT IS SPREADING DAILY. *NLM
WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED HEADLIGHTS, HAZARD LIGHTS, AND TURN SIGNALS DID NOT WORK. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, WHO DETERMINED THAT ANOTHER MULTI-FUNCTION SWITCH WAS NEEDED. THIS WILL BE THE SECOND SWITCH TO BE INSTALLED. *AK
BACK WINDSHIELD LEAKS WATER ONTO INSIDE OF VEHICLE. VEHICLE HAD BEEN TO DEALER SEVERAL TIMES. HOWEVER, DEALER COULD NOT FIND CAUSE OF PROBLEM. ON LAST TRIP TO THE DEALER A CLEAR SILICONE WAS APPLIED TO THE LEAKY AREA. *AK
BAD SHIMMY / VIBRATION FRONT END. THIS HAS BEEN THIS WAY SINCE I BOUGHT IT NEW. HAVE TAKEN IT BACK TO FORD ON 4 DIFFERENT TIMES. ONCE THEY TRIED TO FIX IT BUT HASN'T BEEN RESOLVED. THINK IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE AT HIGHER SPEEDS. *PH
