TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS A TICKING NOISE COMING FROM THE ENGINE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS FOUND THAT THE CAM PHASERS HAD FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS BEING REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED ABOUT THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 58,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
WHILE DRIVING HOME ON THE HIGHWAY MY RIGHT REAR WINDOW CAME CRASHING DOWN. MY 8 YEAR-OLD DAUGHTER WAS SITTING NEXT TO THE WINDOW AND SHE SCREAMED. THIS IS THE 4TH TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED. I KNOW THE WINDOW REGULATOR HAS GONE OUT. NOW I HAVE AN APPOINTMENT TO HAVE THE WINDOW REPAIRED AGAIN!!! I AM TOLD IT IS A WEAR AND TEAR ITEM. HAVING ALL WINDOWS IN YOU VEHICLE DROP AT ANY MOMENT AND ANY SPEED IT NOT NORMAL. I HAVE NEVER HAD THIS HAPPEN WITH ANY OTHER VEHICLE. WHEN THE WINDOW DROPS IT IS LOUD, CAUSES YOU TO OVER CORRECT THINKING YOU HAVE A FLAT OR HIT SOMETHING AND ANY LOOSE PAPERS YOU HAVE IN THE VEHICLE START FLYING AROUND. THANKFULLY WE DIDN'T HAVE A WRECK AND THIS IS THE FOURTH TIME I AM HAVING TO PAY FOR A REPAIR THAT SHOULD BE RECALLED. NOTE: THIS IS NOT ON A WINDOW THAT IS OPENED/CLOSED VERY OFTEN. *TR
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD, HEARD A HUGE "POP" LIKE A GUN AND BOTH MY REAR WINDOWS STARTED TO CREEP DOWN SLOWLY. I TOOK MY DOOR PANELS OFF AND TO MY AMAZEMENT MY WINDOW CABLES ARE OFF THE PULLEY SYSTEM ON BOTH SIDES. I HAVE SECURED MY WINDOWS IN THE UP POSITION USING TAPE AND HAVE BEEN ADVISED THAT BOTH WINDOW REGULATORS NEED TO BE REPLACED COSTING APPROX. 800 DOLLARS. *TR
2004 FORD F150 WINDOW FALLING. ON JULY 27, 2010 I ATTEMPTED TO ROLL DOWN MY REAR DRIVER SIDE WINDOW WHILE DRIVING, UPON DOING THIS THERE WAS A LOUD POP. I ATTEMPTED ROLL THE WINDOW BACK UP BUT WHEN I PUSHED THE UP BUTTON NOTHING HAPPENED. I WAS ABLE TO PUSH THE DOWN BUTTON ONLY TO HEAR A GRINDING NOISE. MY TRUCK MILEAGE IS A LITTLE OVER 87K. *TR
2004 FORD F-150 SUPER-CREW. I WAS TURNING LEFT ON A MAJOR INTERSECTION. HEARD A LOUD CRACK AND MY DRIVER-SIDE WINDOW FELL FROM SIGHT. IT STARTLED ME ENOUGH TO MAKE ME SWERVE. WINDOW REGULATOR FAILURE. INCIDENT DATE - JULY 27, 2010 REPAIR IS EXPENSIVE. SEARCHING FOR A CHEAPER OPTION THAN THE DEALER. I HAVE CONCERN OF THIS HAPPENING AGAIN. *TR
REAR WINDOW FAILURE- 2004 F150 THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF THESE COMPLAINTS ON THE NET AND FORD DOES NOTHING. 115 IN ARIZONA AND AIR CAN'T KEEP UP WITH A WINDOW THAT WON'T STAY UP. IF MY YOUNG SONS DIES BECAUSE OF THE HEAT THEN IT WILL BE TO LATE, THEN FORD WILL BE PAYING BIG TIME. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 FORD F150. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE PARKING THE VEHICLE, HE NOTICED AN EXCESSIVE GASOLINE LEAK. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED THAT THE FUEL LINE HAD FRACTURED WHERE THE FUEL PUMP AND PRESSURE LINES ENTERED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO LOCATE A RECALL FOR THE FAILURE (NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID 04V443000: FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE: STORAGE: TANK ASSEMBLY: MOUNTING) AND WHEN INQUIRING WITH THE DEALER, WAS ADVISED HIS VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE APPROXIMATELY 70,000.
3 MONTHS AGO MY REAR PASSENGER WINDOW ON MY 2004 F-150 FAILED AND CAME CRASHING DOWN, FORD REFUSES TO REPLACE IT, NOW MY DRIVER DOOR WINDOW HAS DONE THE SAME THING AND ALMOST CAUSED ME TO WRECK DUE TO STARTLING ME, FORD REFUSES TO ADDRESS THE ISSUE DUE TO A FAULTY REGULATOR IN THE DOOR OR DEFECTIVE. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE ABOUT THIS IMMEDIATELY. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE DUE TO THE WINDOW JUST CRASHING DOWN WHILE YOUR DRIVING. *TR
WE WERE RIDING DOWN THE LOCAL INTERSTATE WITH TRAILER IN TOW WHEN THE DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW FELL DOWN. THIS IS THE 2ND TIME THIS HAS OCCURRED ON THIS VEHICLE. FIRST INCIDENT OCCURRED WITH THE BACK PASSENGERS WINDOW. THANKS TO GOOD EFFORT AND DRIVING EXPERIENCE NO ACCIDENT OCCURRED IN EITHER INCIDENT. FORD DEALER WILL ACKNOWLEDGE THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH THE WINDOW REGULATOR BUT WILL NOT REPLACE THEM. *TR
2004 FORD F150 REAR PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW REGULATOR BROKE CAUSING THE WINDOW TO FALL TO THE BOTTOM WHILE I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY..HAD A KID IN THE CAR HE WAS SCARED TO DEATH. I HAD THE SAME ISSUE WITH MY DRIVERS SIDE FROM LESS THAN 1 YEAR AGO. THIS IS OUT OF CONTROL. *TR
2004 FORD F-150 DRIVERS DOOR WINDOW REGULATOR SUDDENLY FAILED AND WINDOW FELL DOWN INSIDE THE DOOR WITHOUT ANY WAY TO PUT WINDOW BACK UP WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. OF COURSE IT WAS RAINING. AFTER TAKING DOOR APART I WAS ABLE TO GET THE WINDOW 3/4 OF THE WAY UP BUT COULD NOT GET IT TO GO ALL OF THE WAY. 65K MILES ON TRUCK. AFTER DOING RESEARCH ON THIS I GUESS THAT I WAS LUCKY THAT IT LASTED AS LONG AS IT DID. LOOKS LIKE THAT FORD HAS A DESIGN PROBLEM WITH THIS PART AND SHOULD BE RECALLED. DEFINITELY A SAFETY HAZARD WHEN IT FAILS AND YOU CAN'T GET OR KEEP WINDOW UP. *TR
THIS IS THE THIRD TIME ONE OF MY 2004 F150 WINDOW REGULATOR FAILED AND MY WINDOW FELL OPEN. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT EXPOSES THE VEHICLE OCCUPANTS TO WEATHER CONDITIONS AND POTENTIAL THEFT. DRIVERS WITH CHILDREN OR ANIMALS POSE ADDITIONAL RISK WITH AN OPEN WINDOW. *TR
I HAVE A FORD F150 5.4 TRITON, AND THE WINDOW REGULATOR CABLE BROKE DROPPING THE WINDOW INTO THE DOOR ON THE DRIVERS SIDE WITH NO WAY TO GET THE WINDOW BACK UP WITHOUT A NEW PART. *TR
1. THE DOOR WINDOW QUITS WORKING AND GETS STUCK IN THE DOWN POSITION. THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED WAS WHILE I WAS DRIVING. IT JUST WENT DOWN AND STAYED THERE. IT HAPPENED AGAIN TODAY WHILE IN MY DRIVEWAY. I WENT TO ROLL UP THE WINDOW BECAUSE IT WAS ABOUT TO START RAINING AND IT WOULDN'T ROLL UP. THE PROBLEM IS THE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR. 2. THE FAILURE OCCURRED TWICE. ONCE ABOUT A YEAR AGO ON THE DRIVERS SIDE, AND TODAY THE PASSENGERS SIDE. BOTH TIMES I HAD TO TAKE THE DOOR PANEL APART AND MANUALLY MOVE THE WINDOW UP AND PROP IT UP WITH A BOARD IN CASE IT RAINED. I HAD TO DO THE SAME THING TODAY. LUCKILY I WAS AT HOME AND HAD A CANOPY TO WORK UNDER WHILE IT WAS RAINING. I'VE BEEN LUCKY BOTH TIMES, BUT IT COULD BE A SAFETY ISSUE IF IT FAILS AGAIN OR THE BACK WINDOWS FAIL WHILE ON THE FREEWAY DURING THE RAIN. 3. I HAD THE WINDOW REGULATOR REPLACED. *TR

DRIVING ON MAJOR FREEWAY IN MY 2004 FORD F150 WHEN I HERE A POP AND TURN AROUND AND NOTICE MY BACK WINDOW MISSING, 2 WEEKS LATER I HEAR THE SAME POP AND NOTICE MY FRONT SIDE PASSENGER WINDOW WAS SLIDING DOWN. 1 MONTH AFTER THAT IM RIDING ALONE AND MY DRIVER SIDE PASSENGER WINDOW WOULD NOT WORK ON COMMAND. NOW IM RIDING IN MY CAR WITH 3 WINDOWS NOT WORKING. I HAVE PAPER HOLDING MY WINDOWS UP AS I CALLED FORD AND WAS TOLD IT WOULD COST ME 420 PER WINDOW TO REPAIR NOT INCLUDING TAX. I ALSO WAS TOLD TO EXPECT MY 4TH WINDOW TO GO OUT AS WELL. *TR
MY GENTLY USED 2004 FORD F-150 WITH APPROXIMATELY 63K MILES IS HAVING MOTOR PROBLEMS. THERE IS SEVERE TICKING/KNOCKING OF THE MOTOR FOR NO APPARENT REASON. THERE IS ALSO A GROSS LOSS OF POWER AND THE GAS MILEAGE HAS IMMENSELY DECREASED. ALL THE REQUIRED MAINTENANCE AND SERVICE HAS BEEN CONSISTENTLY DONE ON THIS VEHICLE AND IT IS MAINLY DRIVEN ON THE WEEKENDS DUE TO THE FACT THAT I AM A NYC COMMUTER. I HAVE TAKEN THE TRUCK TO FORD AND THEY ARE UNABLE TO HELP ME WITHOUT THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS OF REPAIR. THIS TRUCK IS GENTLY USED AND WAS CONVEYED TO BE IN EXCELLENT CONDITION & EXCELLENT WORKING ORDER BY FORD AT THE TIME OF PURCHASE. THERE IS NO REASON FOR THIS PROBLEM TO OCCUR. I WAS DRIVING ON A MAIN ROAD. I HAD JUST ROLLED MY PASSENGER REAR WINDOW. THEN I HEARD A LOUD BANG, I THOUGHT SOMETHING HAD HIT MY BACK DOOR. 2004 FORD F150 SUPERCREW CAB, LESS THAN 65,000 MILES JUST HAD MY 4TH WINDOW REGULATOR FAIL. (WINDOW STUCK DOWN) ONLY ONE WAS UNDER COVERED UNDER THE FACTORY WARRANTY. THIS PART (WINDOW REGUALTOR) IS OBVIOUSLY DEFECTIVE. *TR
DRIVING 70MPH WHEN REAR WHEEL CAME OFF. THOUGHT LUG BOLTS CAME LOSE (USE TO WORKING ON EURO CARS) SO WENT TO GET TIRE ABOUT 300 YARDS DOWN OTHER SIDE OR ROAD. JACK UP TRUCK, PUT TIRE BACK ON, WENT AROUND TRUCK TO BORROW OTHER WHEELS LUG BOLTS, REALIZED F-150 TAKES STUDS AND NUTS NOT BOLTS WHEN I REMOVED A NUT NOT A BOLT. WENT BACK TO LOOK AT THE HOLES IN THE ROTOR THAT LOOKED LIKE THEY TOOK BOLTS AND NOW I REALIZE THAT ALL SIX BOLTS ARE COMPLETELY SHEARED OFF PAST THE ROTORS! THERE ARE LITTLE NUBS POKING OUT OF THE HUB. NOT A FUN DAY. *TR
I OWN A 2004 FORD F150 TRITON XLT. IN LESS THAN A YEAR, BOTH THE FRONT DRIVER AND FRONT PASSENGER WINDOWS HAVE BECOME INOPERABLE. THE WINDOW REGULATOR HAS TO BE REPLACED. I HAVE RESEARCHED THIS AND FOUND IT TO BE A VERY COMMON PROBLEM AND FEEL FORD SHOULD BE DOING A RECALL ON THIS. THE FIRST WINDOW HAS BEEN FIXED, WE ARE IN THE PROCESS OF GETTING THE PART FOR A SECOND ONE NOW. EACH REPAIR AT A FORD DEALER COSTS MORE THAN $400.00. *TR

I HAVE A 2004 F-150 4 DOOR LARIAT, I HAVE REPLACED THREE WINDOW REGISTERS IN THE LAST 6 MONTHS, THIS SHOULD NOT HAPPEN. IS THERE SOME KIND OF RECALL THAT CAN BE DONE OR AT LEAST A REVISED WINDOW REGISTER THAT WILL LAST MORE THAN A COUPLE OF MONTHS. *TR

I HAVE A 2004 FORD F150 LARIAT SUPER CREW CAB. IN THE PAST 2 YEARS I HAVE HAD TO HAVE THE POWER SWITCHES AND REGULATORS REPLACED IN THREE DOORS ON MY TRUCK. THE LATEST BEING FRIDAY, JULY 16, 2010. I HAVE LOOKED ON NUMEROUS SITES ON THE INTERNET AND SEE THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS TRUCK. I CALLED FORD AND THEY SAY IT IS NOT A PROBLEM FROM THEIR STANDPOINT. THIS IS A VERY COSTLY PROBLEM TO REPAIR AND SHOULD BE CONSIDERED A SAFETY HAZARD. *TR
MY 2004 F-150 LARIAT HAS HAD 4 OF THE 5 ELECTRIC WINDOW REGULATORS FAIL OVER THE PAST 14 MONTHS. WHEN THESE REGULATORS FAIL THE WINDOW LOSES ALL SUPPORT AND DROPS, UNABATED, INTO THE DOOR FRAME OF THE VEHICLE WITH A LOUD CRASH. TODAY IT OCCURRED ON ONE OF THE REAR WINDOWS WHERE MY INFANT DAUGHTER WAS SITTING. IT TERRIFIED HER AS WE WERE ON THE INTERSTATE IN A SOUTH FLORIDA THUNDERSTORM. THIS IS A KNOWN DEFECT AND FORD CHARGES BETWEEN $350 AND $400 TO REPLACE. I WAS LUCKY NOT TO HAVE CRASHED FROM THE SUDDEN SCARE. *TR
ITS ALL THE WINDOWS, AT FIRST IT STARTED ABOUT A YEAR OR SO AGO, ITS WAS THE DRIVER SIDE, THEN IT WAS THE PASSENGER SIDE, THEN TWO DAYS IT WAS DRIVER SIDE REAR..YOU CAN BE GOING DOWN THE ROAD, ALL THE SUDDEN THE WINDOW JUST FALLS DOWN. ITS DONE IT FAST, ON ONE, SLOW ON ONE, YOU THINK YOU'VE HIT THE BUTTON, BUT IT FALLS DOWN IN DOOR. IN RAIN OR HAIL STORM, COULDN'T HAVE TO BE SUN SHINING... A HUMMING NOISE BEGAN TO EMANATE FROM THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL. I TOOK IT INTO MY GARAGE TO HAVE IT LOOKED INTO. I WAS TOLD THAT THE GEARS HAD NOT BEEN ALIGNED PROPERLY AND HAD WORN OUT WITH JUST OVER 34000 MILES ON THE TRUCK.. I'VE BEEN TOLD BY FORD MECHANICS THAT THIS IS A RECURRING PROBLEM WITH THE FORD F-150 TRUCK AND CAN OCCUR WITH AS LITTLE AS 5000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE. FORD SAYS THAT IT ISN'T A PROBLEM UNTIL THEY'VE BEEN TOLD BY YOUR NHTSA SAYS SO AND ISSUE A RECALL. WHY? THE PROBLEM IS KNOWN TO EXIST BY FORD BUT IF YOUR OUT OF WARRANTY THEN IT'S THE OWNERS PROBLEM SO GO FIX IT YOURSELF. IS THE NHTSA AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM? ARE YOU WILLING TO STEP UP AND ORDER FORD TO MAKE THE NECESSARY REPAIRS? IT'S A PROBLEM OF THEIR OWN MAKING AND THEY PUSH IT OFF TO THE UNSUSPECTING BUYER. *TR
PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW ON MY 2004 F150 LARIAT CAME CRASHING DOWN WHEN I WENT TO ROLL DOWN THE WINDOW TODAY. GOOGLED THE PROBLEM AND HAVE FOUND OUT HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS HAVE BEEN MADE. RECALL PLEASE! BETTER PARTS! *TR
WE HAVE A 2004 FORD F-150. WE ARE NOW HAVING TO REPLACE THE 3RD OUT OF 4 WINDOW REGULATORS BECAUSE OF FAILURE. THERE IS NOTHING LEADING UP TO THE FAILURE. JUST ONE DAY, WE ROLL THE WINDOW DOWN AND IT WON'T ROLL BACK UP OR IT WILL ONLY PARTIALLY ROLL UP. WE HAVE NOW SPENT ABOUT $600 REPLACING THE PARTS, APPROXIMATELY $200 A PIECE. PLEASE CONSIDER RECALLING THIS PART ON THE 2004 FORD F-150 TRUCKS. *TR

FORD 2004 F-150 XLT PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW FAILS TO ROLL UP. HAD THE DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW REPAIRED UNDER WARRANTY FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. ONLY HAVE 7314 MILES ON THE VEHICLE WHICH I PURCHASED NEW IN 2004. DEALER REFUSES TO FIX THE PROBLEM WITHOUT CHARGE AS AN OBVIOUS PRODUCT DEFECT THAT HAS BEEN REPORTED BY NUMEROUS OTHER 2004-2005 F-150 OWNERS. *TR

WELL JULY 6, 2010 THE PASSENGER'S WINDOW DID THE SAME THING AND IT WAS RAINING AGAIN. THIS TIME MY HUSBAND WAS PARKED. MANY OF OUR FRIENDS THAT OWN THIS FORD F150 HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. WE WANT FORD TO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS FAULTY CHEAP MOTOR AND REPLACE ALL OF THEM. WE HAVE 4 DOORS. WE HAVE ALREADY REPLACED 1 AND ABOUT TO FIX THE 2ND DOOR. ALONG WITH THE WINDOW MOTOR FAILING THE ROTORS ON THE BRAKES WERE DEFECTIVE. FORD REPLACED THEM ONCE BUT STATED THAT IN THE FUTURE WE WILL HAVE MORE PROBLEMS WITH THIS AND WE WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR THEM. THIS IS NOT FIXING THE PROBLEM. FORD SUCKS AND WE WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER FORD ANYTHING. INFACT NEVER BUY ANOTHER AMERICAN CAR. THE IMPORTS LAST LONGER AND STAND BY THEIR VEHICLES. POWER WINDOW REGULATOR FAILURE IN 2004 FORD F-150 XLT. WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY, WINDOW CAME DOWN ABOUT FOUR INCHES AND WOULD NOT GO BACK UP. TODAY 6/29/2010, THE THIRD WINDOW DROPS OUT OF SIGHT ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE REAR DOOR OF MY FX4. THIS TIME, IT WAS RAINING. I HAD TO DRIVE HOME AND COVER THE VEHICLE TO AVOID MORE WATER DAMAGE. *TR

THE SECOND BROKE YESTERDAY WHEN I ATTEMPTED TO LOWER THE WINDOW. I AM A LOYAL FORD CUSTOMER. I AM 44 YEARS OLD AND BETWEEN ME, MY WIFE , AND CHILD, WE HAVE OWNED A TOTAL OF 14 FORD PRODUCTS.
