I WAS GOING TO MY TRUCK AND I REALIZED THAT THE DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW WAS DOWN. WHEN I TRIED TO RAISE IT, IT MADE A GRINDING NOISE AND WOULD NOT BUDGE. ALL OF MY PERSONAL BELONGINGS WERE IN MY TRUCK AND SOMEONE COULD HAVE EASILY TAKEN THEM. I WILL NOT BE ABLE TO GO TO WORK OR SCHOOL WITH THE WINDOW DOWN AND I AM NOT PAYING TO HAVE IT REPAIRED. THIS IS FORD'S RESPONSIBILITY. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE ABOUT THIS ISSUE. *TR
2004 FORD F150 SUPERCREW WINDOW REGULATOR FAILURE. MY TRUCK HAS SAT THROUGH 2 YEARS OF DEPLOYMENTS, FOR ME TO ONLY RETURN AND IN A MATTER OF 3 YEARS TO HAVE ALL 4 WINDOW REGULATORS FAIL IN MY TRUCK. FORD SHOULD DO A RECALL ON THIS PROBLEM. THE MECHANICS AT THE DEALERS ARE FULLY AWARE OF THIS ISSUE AND THE FREQUENCY OF WHICH IT HAPPENS. $440.00 IS TOO MUCH PER INCIDENT. WINDOW MECHANISM ON 2004 FORD F-150 FAILS SUDDENLY AND WINDOW IS STUCK IN THE DOWN POSITION. THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE ON TWO DIFFERENT WINDOWS. THIS CAN BE A PERSONAL SAFETY ISSUE OF COURSE AS WELL AS A HUGE SECURITY ISSUE. DEALER TOLD ME THAT FORD USED CHEAP PLASTIC PARTS IN THE 2004 AND THEY GET HUNDREDS OF CUSTOMERS IN FOR THIS REPAIR. *TR
FORD F150 20004 POWER WINDOW REGULATOR P/N 4L3Z1823201CA FORD CHARGES ABOUT $500 FOR THIS ITEM. THIS IS SECOND ONE IN 14 MONTHS. *TR
I OWN A 2004 F-150 CREW CAB XLT PICKUP THAT I PURCHASED USED 1 YEAR AGO. SINCE OWNING THE VEHICLE I HAVE HAD BOTH THE DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW REGULATOR AND DRIVER'S SIDE PASSENGER WINDOW REGULATOR FAILED, IN BOTH INSTANCES THE WINDOW WAS BEING RAISED, AT ABOUT HALF WAY UP THE WINDOWS SUDDENLY STOPPED AND STARTED SLIDING DOWN ITS TRACK INSTEAD OF GOING UP. THE COST OF REPAIRING THE DRIVER'S WINDOW WAS $590. TO DATE. I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO AFFORD TO REPLACE THE REAR PASSENGER WINDOW, IT IS HELD UP WITH WOOD WEDGES. THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WHEN UNITS FAIL WITH LESS THEN 6 YEARS OF WEAR ON THEM AND IT CAN BE A SAFETY ISSUE IF IT HAPPENS WHILE YOU ARE ON A TRIP. I HAVE HAD TO KEEPING EXTRA WOOD WEDGES IN MY TRUCK JUST INCASE ANOTHER WINDOW FAILS! *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 FORD F-150. WHILE THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 40 MPH HE NOTICED A LOUD CLANKING NOISE COMING UNDER THE VEHICLE. A LOCAL MECHANIC INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE AUTO HUB LOCK NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THERE WERE NO PRIOR WARNINGS. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 44000. UPDATED 11/17/09 *BF THE CONSUMER STATED THERE WAS NO PART COVER ON THE PART TO PREVENT MOISTURE. UPDATED 11/1/8/09
WE HAVE A 2004 150 FORD TRUCK WITH LESS THAN 25000 MILES AND THAT IS GUESSING SINCE THE DASH DOES NOT WORK. ALSO THE WINDOW HAS FALLEN OUT AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST THE PASSENGER WINDOW WILL NOT ROLL UP. SINCE IT IS OUT OF WARRANTY THEY WILL NOT REPAIR ANY OF THESE PROBLEMS. HAVE ANY OTHER COMPLAINTS COME IN ON THIS MODEL. FORD SAYS THEY HAVE NO DASH AND WINDOW PROBLEMS IN THEIR TRUCK. WE WILL BE OUT AT LEAST 1200.00 DOLLARS ON REPAIRS ON A TRUCK WITH VERY LOW MILEAGE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 FORD F150. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH WHEN THE VEHICLE STALLED SUDDENLY AND COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALERSHIP WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FUEL PUMP MARGINAL HAD RUSTED AND SEPARATED FROM THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER REPAIRED THE VEHICLE AT THE EXPENSE OF THE CONTACT. HE CALLED THE MANUFACTURER AND WAS TOLD THAT HE WOULD HAVE TO ASSUME THE REPAIR COSTS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 48,842. POWER WINDOW REGULATOR FAILURE 2004 FORD F-150. TODAY I HAD THE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR FAIL ON MY TRUCK. I WAS DRIVING IN TRAFFIC IN SALEM OREGON AND ALL OF A SUDDEN MY DRIVERS WINDOW JUST FELL INTO THE DOOR. THIS STARTLED THE HECK OUT OF ME WITH THE LOAD THUD IT MADE. I HONESTLY THOUGHT SOMEONE HAD THROWN SOMETHING AGAINST BY DOOR OR SOMETHING, WHICH MADE ME JERK AWAY FROM THE WINDOW NEARLY SIDE SWIPING A VEHICLE TO MY RIGHT. LUCKILY THAT DRIVE WAS ON THE BALL AND VEERED OUT OF THE WAY. AFTER READING ALL OF THE COMPLAINTS I THOUGHT I MUST ADD TO THIS LIST. I CAN NOT AFFORD ANOTHER NEAR $400 TIMES THREE WHEN THE OTHERS GO BAD. I HAVE A THREE YEAR OLD LITTLE GIRL AND I FEAR THAT THE NEXT TIME THIS HAPPENS SHE MAY BE IN THE TRUCK AND WHO KNOWS WHAT COULD HAPPEN THEN!! I WAS DRIVING MY 2004 FORD F150 ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN I HEARD A LOUD BANG. I THOUGHT I HAD BEEN HIT BY A BULLET OR RAN OVER SOMETHING THAT COULD HAVE MADE SUCH A LOUD NOISE. WHEN I GOT HOME I CHECKED MY TRUCK FOR ANY DAMAGES AND DIDN'T FIND ANY, SO I PROCEEDED TO GET MY GROCERIES DOWN AND TAKE THEM INSIDE. WHEN I CAME BACK OUTSIDE I WENT TO THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR TO GET THE REST OF MY GROCERIES WHEN I HEARD ANOTHER LOUD NOISE ONCE AGAIN I WENT AND CHECK THE TRUCK AND COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING BUT NOTICED THAT MY DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW WAS DOWN. I THOUGHT THEN I DON'T REMEMBER LEAVING MY WINDOW DOWN BUT I WENT AND GOT MY KEYS TO CLOSE MY WINDOW WHEN, I TURNED THE KEY TO GET THE WINDOW UP I HEARD THE MOTOR RUNNING BUT THE WINDOW DID NOT COME UP. SO I TOOK MY TRUCK TO A BODY SHOP AND THE REPAIR MAN SAID IT COULD JUST BE THE REGULATOR BECAUSE HE COULD ALSO HEAR THE MOTOR. HE THEN REMOVED THE PANEL AND FOUND OUT THAT NOT ONLY THE REGULATOR WAS GOING TO HAVE TO BE REPLACED BUT ALSO THE MOTOR. *TR

WINDOW REGULATOR FAILURE: I HAVE NOW REPLACED 3 OUT OF 4 WINDOW REGULATORS. MY OUT OF POCKET COST IS SLIGHTLY OVER $900.00. THE FAILURES HAVE BEEN SUDDEN WITH NO WARNING.ONE OCCURRED IN TRAFFIC AT 55MPH. I LIVE IN COLORADO AND WEATHER COULD POSE A HEALTH AND SAFETY ISSUE. MORE IMPORTANT IS CONSUMER PROTECTION. THREE FAILURES IN JUST A COUPLE OF YEARS IS INDICATIVE OF MANUFACTURER USING SUBSTANDARD PARTS OR COMPONENTS. FORD SHOULD CORRECT THIS POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS SITUATION AND COMPENSATE THOSE WHO HAVE HAD TO BEAR THE COST OF REPAIR FOR SUBSTANDARD WORKMANSHIP AND MATERIALS. THE DATE OF THE FIRST AND SECOND INCIDENTS WERE CLOSE TO THE LISTED DATE THE MOST RECENT WAS SEPTEMBER 1 OF THIS YEAR. REPAIR WORK WAS DONE BY A LOCAL SHOP RECORDS ARE AVAILABLE TO REFINE THE DATES AND EXACT MILEAGE. *TR
WINDOW REGULATOR FAILED ON MY REAR DRIVERS SIDE ALLOWING WINDOW TO FALL. LUCKILY WE WERE PARKED AT THE TIME. VEHICLE IS 2004 FORD F150 LARIAT SUPER CREW. CAN'T FIND PARTS ONLINE SO FORD IS TAKING ADVANTAGE OF THE SITUATION BY REQUIRING PEOPLE TO BUY ONLY FROM THEM AT $425 A TIME. THE REAR SLIDING WINOW HAS NEVER WORKED ON THIS VEHICLE. *TR

NORMAL DRIVING, DRY, CLEAR, DAYTIME. GOING THRU PARKING LOT 5-8MPH, BUMP AND POT HOLES. MY 2004 FORD F150, SUPERCREW CAB, DIED. NO POWER TO RESTART. TOWED TO LOCAL AUTOMOTIVE SHOP. THEY FOUND A BLOWN MAXI 20 AMP FUSE (#102 IN FUSE BOX) REPLACED IT. TWO DAYS LATER, AGAIN GOING UP A HILL WITH SOME WASH BOARD RIPPLES IN ROAD, TRUCK DIES/FUSE BLOWN. TOW IT HOME, REPLACE SAME FUSE AS BEFORE, ATTEMPT TO START TRUCK, FUSE BLOWN AGAIN & AGAIN. CALL FORD MOTOR DEALER, THEY SUGGEST TO REPLACE "IGNITION SWITCH", I DO SO AND NEW FUSE, ATTEMPT TO START TRUCK, FUSE BLOWN AGAIN, CALL FORD DEALER, THEY SAY TO REPLACE "TRANSMISSION RANGE SENSOR", I UNPLUG THAT CONNECTOR-DUE TO A NEW PART IS VERY COSTLY AND YOU CAN NOT RETURN ELECTRICAL PARTS. NEW FUSE, ATTEMPT TO START W/O CONNECTION TO TRS. FUSE BLOWN. SO TRANSMISSION RANGE SENSOR, NOT THE PROBLEM. THIS IS A COSTLY ONGOING REPAIR WITH NO SATISFACTION. (NOW LUCKILY WHEN THE "FUSE" BLOWS, I HAVE NOT BEEN IN LOS ANGELES RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC) HOW EVER I WAS ON A VERY BUSY UP HILL GRADE WHEN THE SECOND TIME IT BLOWN THE FUSE AND MY FAMILY AND I WERE NEARLY HIT SEVERAL TIMES DUE TO TRAFFIC THAT COULDN'T SEE OVER THE HILL TOP, NOR WOULD THE SAME DIRECTION OF TRAFFIC FROM BEHIND SLOW DOWN. WE WERE LUCKY, I RESEARCHED WEB SITES FOR ANSWERS TO A FIX. I FOUND OTHER INDIVIDUALS WITH F150 TRUCKS HAVE THE SAME ISSUE. FORD MOTOR CO. HAS NO TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETINS FOR THIS PROBLEM, WHY NOT? I HAVE SPENT 5 WEEKS RESEARCHING MY WIRES, PARTS AND INFORMATIONAL SITES AND MECHANICS, VERY UNSUCCESSFUL. I HEARD THAT TOYOTA MADE THEIR PCM SO IT WOULD MALFUNCTION AFTER SO MANY MILES, COULD THIS BE WHAT FORD IS DOING TO COLLECT MONEY FOR REPAIRS? I AM A CERTIFIED MECHANIC & SMOG TECH IN CALIFORNIA, I AM LOST AS FAR AS HOW TO REPAIR THIS PROBLEM, BEFORE I PAY TO TOW TO A FORD DEALER AND GET REAMED ON EXPENSE FOR AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM THAT IS PROBABLY AN EASY FIX. THE REGULATORS ON BOTH THE DRIVER'S SIDE AND PASSENGER SIDE OF MY 2004 FORD F150 HAVE FAILED CAUSING THE WINDOWS TO DROP INSIDE THE DOOR FRAME.... AND A REPAIR BILL OF $300.00 FOR EACH WINDOW. *TR

THERE WERE OCCURRENCES WHEN THE CRUISE CONTROL ENGAGED WITHOUT ASSISTANCE AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS IN OPERATION FOR A FEW MINUTES. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED FOR THE MALFUNCTIONS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 56,000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 84,688.
REAR PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW FELL INTO THE DOOR AND COULD NOT BE RAISED. THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED AT THE TIME OF THE OCCURRENCE. THE WINDOW REGULATOR MECHANISM WAS NOT BEING ACTIVATED AT THE TIME OF THE FAILURE. THE WINDOW REGULATOR NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. THIS SAME FAILURE HAS OCCURRED IN THE SAME VEHICLE ON PREVIOUS OCCASIONS TO THE FRONT DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW AND FRONT PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW WHILE DRIVING. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT DRIVER AND REAR DRIVER SIDE WINDOW HAVE FALLEN INTO THE DOOR. A DEFECTIVE REGULATOR CAUSED THE WINDOWS TO FALL. I HEARD A LOUD POP OR BANG WHEN I WAS PUTTING UP THE DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW. THE WINDOW FELL DOWN AND WON'T COME BACK UP. MOTOR TURNS AND MAKES A GRINDING NOISE. CROSSROAD FORD CARY NC REPAIR ESTIMATE WAS $400 - $450. *TR
THE THIRD (OF FOURTH) DIFFERENT WINDOW REGULATOR BROKE RECENTLY RESULTING IN ANOTHER TRIP TO THE FORD SERVICE DEPARTMENT. THERE HAVE BEEN A TOTAL OF THREE BROKEN REGULATOR CABLES BREAK WITHIN THE PAST YEAR (LAST TWO WITHIN THE PAST 2 MONTHS). THIS LATEST OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING RESULTING IN AN ALERTING DISTRACTION TO THE DRIVER. THE WINDOW BASICALLY JUST DROPPED DOWN INTO THE DOOR AND WOULD NOT RETURN TO ITS CLOSED POSITION. THIS PARTICULAR WINDOW (BACK PASSENGER SIDE) IS WHERE WE KEEP THE BABY SEAT AND UNFORTUNATELY OUR CHILD WAS NOT IN THE CAR AT THE TIME. IN ALL THREE CASES THE REGULATOR ASSEMBLY HAD TO BE REPLACED AT MY EXPENSE ALTHOUGH THIS IS CLEARLY A MANUFACTURER DEFECT RESULTING IN UNSAFE SITUATION. VEHICLE IS A 2004 FORD F-150. *TR
LEAVING HOME ROLLING UP DRIVER POWER WINDOW AND SUDDENLY THERE WAS A VERY LOUD BANG AND SNAPPING SOUNDS FROM WINDOW, VERY UN-NERVING. *TR
AS I LOWERED THE DRIVER'S-SIDE POWER WINDOW, IT MADE A LOUD SCRAPING NOISE AND THEN AN EVEN LOUDER POP/CRACK WHICH MADE ME THINK THE WINDOW HAD BROKEN. I RAISED THE WINDOW CAUTIOUSLY AND EVEN THOUGH IT CONTINUED TO MAKE NOISES, THE GLASS APPEARED TO BE UNDAMAGED. ABOUT 5 MINUTES LATER, THE WINDOW SLID DOWN INTO THE DOOR OF THE TRUCK. *TR
THE BACK PASSENGER WINDOW ON MY TRUCK WILL NOT ROLL UP OR DOWN. IT SLIDES DOWN LITTLE BY LITTLE WHILE I DRIVE AND I HAVE TO MANUALLY PUSH IT BACK UP. I AM AFRAID IT IS GOING TO FALL INTO THE DOOR AND SHATTER. AND IT IS A SECURITY CONCERN SINCE ANYONE CAN SLIDE THE WINDOW DOWN FROM THE OUTSIDE AND UNLOCK THE DOOR. I HAVE READ ONLINE THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE TRUCK AND AN EXPENSIVE FIX AS WELL. IT SOUNDS LIKE SOMETHING FORD NEEDS TO STEP AND RECALL. *TR
I HAVE HAD ALL FOUR OF MY WINDOWS IN MY 2004 F150 SUPERCREW COLLAPSE INTO THE DOOR. 3 OF THOSE HAVE BEEN WHILE TRAVELING ON THE FREEWAY. I COULD ONLY IMAGINE IF I WAS IN A RAIN STORM TRYING TO DRIVE WHAT THAT COULD HAVE DONE. I KNOW HAVING TO FIX MY PASSENGER SIDE FOR THE 2ND TIME. *TR
I HAD 3 WINDOW REGULATORS JUST QUIT CAUSING THE GLASS TO JUST DROP IN MY 2004 FORD 150 LARIAT. MY WARRANTY WAS 23 DAYS OVER AND THE FORD CALL CENTER AS WELL AS CORPORATE OFFICES, (313-845-6173,313-845-5761, 313-845-5831) FLAT OUT TOLD ME IT WAS MY PROBLEM THERE WERE NO MORE WARRANTIES. I PAID TO REPAIR 2 OF THE WINDOW REGULATORS AND FORD DID ASSIST WITH THE SECOND ON 80% OF REPAIR. BUT I HAVE OWNED 5 FORD TRUCKS AND THE ONLY ISSUES WE HAVE HAD IS WITH THE F150. I HAVE SEARCHED THE INTERNET FOR THE PAST 5 DAYS AND I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE, THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE 2004 FORD LARIAT F150 SERIES TRUCK WINDOWS. YOU COULD BE DRIVING AND YOUR WINDOW JUST DROPS OUT INTO THE PANEL. ITS NOT SAFE. MY HUSBAND'S COWORKER ,SAID HIS WIFE WAS DRIVING THERE F150 ON THE FREEWAY WITH THEIR SON IN THE BACK AND THE WINDOW DROPPED AND SHE THOUGHT IT WAS A DRIVEBY CAUSE THE WINDOW WAS GONE AND THERE WAS LOUD BANG NOISE OR THUMP. I BROUGHT IT IN LAST YEAR TO FIX THE WINDOW AND THEY CHANGED THE CABLE OR MOTOR NOT REALLY SURE, BUT I HAVE AN APPOINTMENT TOMORROW TO FIX THE DRIVERS SIDE NOW. SAME PART NEEDS TO BE CHANGED JUST DIFFERENT DOOR. AT $200.00 EACH TIME. I HAVE SEARCHED THE INTERNET AND HAVE FOUND THOUSANDS OF COMPLAINTS FROM OTHER FORD OWNERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM ON THE 2004 F-150. MAYBE A RECALL SHOULD BE ISSUED ON THESE PARTS. *TR

THIS IS VERY INCONVENIENT DO TO WEATHER CONDITIONS, THEFT, CHILDREN SAFETY, PET SAFETY, AND COST OF REPLACEMENT (POSSIBLY 3 MORE TIMES). *TR

I WAS DRIVING HOME ON WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 16, 2009, AND THE PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW IN MY 2004 FORD F-150 PICKUP, FELL INTO THE DOOR. I COULD NOT GET IT TO GO BACK UP AND HAVE NO IDEA WHY THIS OCCURRED. THIS COULD HAVE BEEN A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION, AS I WAS PASSING A LARGE TRUCK AT THE TIME AND THOUGHT THAT I HAD BEEN SIDESWIPED. I BROUGHT IT TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP TO GET IT FIXED, ALONG WITH WHAT I THOUGHT WAS A SPARK PLUG AND COILES. WELL I A FOUND OUT THAT A 2004 F-150 I HAVE TO REPLACE THE ENGINE. WHILE IT WAS IN THE SHOP MY BACK RIGHT WINDOW APERANTLY WENT OUT . IT WAS WORKING WHEN IT WENT IN, AND WHEN I GOT IT BACK I HAD A PLASTIC TARP ON MY WINDOW, PANEL WAS OFF, AND NOONE HAD TOLD ME THEY LET IT RAIN IN MY TRUCK OR THAT THE ONE WINDOW THAT HAD WORKED WAS NOW OUT ALSO. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 FORD F150. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 68 MPH WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL ACTIVATED WHEN THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO BUCK WITH HESITATION CAUSING THE STEERING WHEEL TO SHAKE. SUDDENLY, THE CRUISE CONTROL DEACTIVATED. THE FOLLOWING DAY AFTER THE FAILURE, THE GEAR SELECTOR WOULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF THE PARK GEAR. THE ACTUATOR SWITCH WAS ENGAGED WHENEVER SHIFTING INTO PARK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER BUT THEY WERE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE A FAILURE CODE. THE CRUISE CONTROL CONTINUED TO NOT OPERATE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. TRUCK VIBRATING. SLOWED DOWN, APPLIED BRAKES SEVERAL TIMES, VIBRATING STOPPED. AFTER GETTING HOME, STATED CHECKING THINGS. FOUND EMERGENCY BRAKE CABLE OFF. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES. POOR DESIGN. I HAVEN'T FOUND OF ANY RECALL ON THIS. THIS IS UNSAFE AND SHOULD BE RECALLED BY FORD. IF SOMEONE WHO DOESN'T HAVE ANY MECHANICAL ABILITY COULD GET "BURNED" BY UNNECESSARY COST BY FORD OR REPAIR SHOPS. *TR
I HAD BOTH PASSENGER FRONT AND REAR WINDOWS FALL WITHIN A DAY APART FROM EACH OTHER. IT'S THE PART THAT HOLDS THE WINDOW IN PLACE I BELIEVE THEY ARE CALLING IT THE ACTUATORS. THE CABLE IS BREAKING LOSE FROM THIS ASSEMBLY AND CAUSING THE CABLE TO CRINKLE IN THE MOTOR, SO EVERY PART OF THAT WINDOW GETS DESTROYED. NO INCIDENTS THANK GOD, BUT THIS COULD HAVE BEEN A BAD SITUATION IN OTHER CIRCUMSTANCES. I HAVE SEEN SO MANY COMPLAINTS ON DIFFERENT WEBSITES AND STILL NOTHING IS BEING DONE ABOUT IT! MY COMPLAINT IS FOR MY 2004 FORD F150 WINDOW REGULATOR. I NOW HAVE 2 WINDOWS THAT ARE BROKE AND FORD WANTS APPROX. $500 EACH TO FIX. THE FIRST SITUATION WAS WITH THE WHOLE FAMILY IN THE TRUCK, WE HEARD A LOUD POP AND THOUGHT WE HIT SOMETHING, THEN THE WINDOW JUST SLID DOWN INSIDE THE DOOR. WE WERE OUT OF TOWN AND HAD TO FIND TAPE OR SOMETHING TO HOLD THE WINDOW UP BECAUSE IT WAS COLD OUTSIDE. THE 2ND SITUATION I WAS BY MYSELF COMING HOME FROM WORK AND POP AGAIN WHICH MADE ME SO MAD THAT IT COULD HAPPEN TWICE. I HAD TO TAKE THE DOOR PANELS OFF AND THE WINDOWS ARE NOW HELD UP WITH A RIP CORD AND ALL THE ELECTRIC WINDOWS HAVE BEEN DISCONNECTED SO WE CANNOT EVEN OPEN ANY OF THEM. FORD NEEDS TO FIX THIS POOR DESIGN THAT THEY KNOW ABOUT FOR FREE AND RECALL THIS MODEL. *TR
2 DIFFERENT POWER WINDOW REGULATORS HAVE GONE OUT ON MY 2004 FORD F-150 PICKUP TRUCK IN LESS THAN 30 DAYS. I HAVE BEEN ADVISED YOU HAVE REQUESTED FORD TO RECALL F-150'S FOR THIS PROBLEM AND THEY HAVE REFUSED TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT.... THREE OF THE FOUR WINDOWS IN OUR FORD F150 EXTENDED CAB HAVE GONE DOWN NEVER TO COME UP AGAIN. NO ONE WAS INJURED, BUT THE OPEN WINDOW WITH NO WAY TO CLOSE IT CERTAINLY PROVIDED FOR POSSIBLE INJURY ESPECIALLY TODAY AS THE THIRD ONE BROKE JUST BEFORE A HEAVY THUNDERSTORM WITH STRONG WINDS. OVER THE PAST YEAR OF OWNING MY 2004 FORD F-150 SUPERCREW 5.4 LTR. TRITON, I HAVE REPLACED 3 OUT OF THE 4 POWER WINDOW REGULATORS ON THE VEHICLE. I DO NOT CONSIDER THESE NORMAL REPAIRS HOWEVER AS THEY HAVE ALL OCCURRED WITHIN SUCH A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME AND WERE ALL EXACTLY THE SAME IN NATURE. THE FIRST OCCURRED ON A TRIP FROM COLORADO TO SALINA KS. OVER THE THANKSGIVING HOLIDAY, I THOUGHT THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO THE EXTREMELY COLD WEATHER, WHICH MADE MOST OF THE TRIP COMPLETELY MISERABLE BY THE WAY, HOWEVER WITHIN 6 MONTHS ANOTHER POWER WINDOW FAILURE OCCURRED AND JUST THE OTHER DAY THE THIRD. I THINK IT'S RIDICULOUS THAT SO MANY PERSONS HAVE LODGED THE SAME COMPLAINT ABOUT THESE FAULTY COMPONENTS AND FORD MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE YET THEY CHOOSE TO DO NOTHING ABOUT THIS SPECIFIC PROBLEM. *TR

WITHIN A ONE YEAR SPAN OF TIME I HAVE HAD TWO WINDOW REGULATORS/MOTORS BREAK ON MY 2004 F-150 EXTENDED CAB. THE TRUCK ONLY HAS 59,000 MILES ON IT AND I HAVE HEARD OF MANY OTHERS HAVING THIS SAME PROBLEM WITH THIS MODEL AND YEAR. THERE ARE NO OUTSIDE FACTORS AFFECTING THIS PROBLEM, IT IS A MANUFACTURING ISSUE. BOTH TIMES I JUST SIMPLY WENT TO ROLL DOWN MY WINDOW, HEARD A POP AND THEN MY WINDOW BEGAN TO SLIDE DOWN. NO CRASHES JUST INCIDENTS OF WINDOW FAILURE ON F-150. ALL WINDOW REGULATORS HAVE HAD TO BE REPLACED DUE TO POOR WORKMANSHIP. IT IS AN OBVIOUS FORD DEFECT THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED. I, LIKE THOUSANDS OF OTHERS OF CONCERNED CONSUMERS, HAVE EXPERIENCED FAULTY WINDOW REGULATORS IN MY 2004 FORD F-150. LAST NIGHT, MY REAR WINDOW BROKE WHEN TRYING TO ROLE IT UP. SEVERAL MONTHS AGO, MY DRIVER WINDOW BROKE WHEN I WASN'T EVEN USING THE WINDOW OR NEAR THE TRUCK. I JUST WALKED OUT TO MY TRUCK WITH THE WINDOW DOWN - THINKING SOMEONE HAD BROKEN INTO MY TRUCK. WHEN COMPLAINING TO FORD, THEY SAID THERE IS NOTHING THAT CAN BE DONE. THE GUY AT THE FORD SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP SAID HE HAD THE SAME TRUCK AT THE TIME AND HAD ALREADY REPLACED 3 ON HIS TRUCK. AS FOR CORRECTING THE PROBLEM WHEN DOING THE $350 REPAIR, HE TOLD ME THE REPAIR IS THE SAME AS IT WAS MANUFACTURED AND HE ACKNOWLEDGED PROBLEM WOULD REPEAT OVER TIME. PAYING OVER $30,000 FOR A TRUCK AND HAVING WINDOWS BREAKING LIKE THIS IS ABSURD. FOR FORD TO REFUSE TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM IS MORE ABSURD. CONSUMERS NEED YOUR HELP, PLEASE DO SOMETHING. *TR
I OWN A FORD F150 V8 5.4 TRITAN ABOUT A MONTH AGO MY PASSENGERS SIDE WINDOW FELL DOWN IN THE DOOR WHILE I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. IT SCARED ME AND CAUSED ME TO SWERVE WHILE DRIVING. WINDOWS IN F-150 OUR FAILING. CABLE JUST SNAPS AND THEY FALL QUICKLY INTO DOOR. THREE OUT OF FOUR WINDOWS HAVE FALLEN IN MY TRUCK. THE FIRST OCCURRED DURING A DOWN POUR. THIS WAS QUITE A SURPRISE AND I WAS FORTUNATE THAT I WAS NOT DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE WHEN THIS OCCURRED. THE THIRD AND LAST OCCURRENCE OCCURRED JUST LAST WEEK WHILE ON A BUSINESS TRIP. TWO OF THE THREE INCIDENTS WERE EXTREMELY DISTRACTING, ONE OCCURRED WHILE PARKED. BASED ON MY CONVERSATIONS WITH THE DEALER, SEARCH RESULTS ON THE INTERNET, AND MY OWN EXPERIENCE I'M CONCERNED ANYONE WITH A CHILD THAT REMOVES THEIR RESTRAINTS WHILE IN MOTION MIGHT ENCOUNTER THE SAME ISSUE. ONE OF MY WINDOWS IN THE BACK WAS BROKEN BUT DID NOT DROP DOWN UNTIL IT WAS TOUCHED BY A CO-WORKER, AND DROPPED VERY FAST. THANK GOODNESS THIS DID NOT HAPPENED BY A CHILD WHO UNRESTRAINED THEMSELVES WHILE MOVING. *TR
