2004 FORD F-150 SUPER CREW HAS HAD 3 WINDOW REGULATORS FAIL SINCE 2008. THE MOST RECENT WAS ON 9/2/09. THE OTHERS WERE IN APRIL OF 2008. IN EACH INSTANCE, THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN A COMMUTER PARKING LOT WHEN WE ARRIVED TO SEE THAT THE WINDOW(S) WERE DOWN AND WOULD NOT ROLL UP. WE ARE FORTUNATE THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED WHEN WE ARE NOT ACTUALLY DRIVING THE VEHICLE. THIS COULD BE A VERY SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE IF THE WINDOW WERE TO DROP WHILE DRIVING IN BAD WEATHER WITH A SMALL CHILD IN THE VEHICLE. FORD NEEDS TO RECALL THIS ITEM AND FIX IT FOR FREE. IT IS A VERY EXPENSIVE REPAIR AT THE DEALER. OUR PARTICULAR TRUCK HAS JUST UNDER 45,000 MILES ON IT. *TR
2004 FORD F-150 WINDOW REGULATORS FAILURE, MY DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW JUST FELL TO THE BOTTOM OF THE DOOR WHEN I TRIED TO ROLL IT UP. *TR
IN MY SUPER-CAB - WITHOUT WARNING THE DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW FELL COMPLETELY DOWN TO THE BOTTOM OF THE DOOR AND WOULD NOT RAISE BACK UP WHILE IN ROUTE ON THE INTERSTATE. IT WAS LOUD AND SHOCKING! THIS OCCURRED OUT OF WARRANTY THE FIRST TIME AT 53,354 MILES. YESTERDAY (3/4/12), THE PASSENGER WINDOW DID EXACTLY THE SAME THING AND STARTLED MYSELF AND MY WIFE. THIS PRESENTS AN EXTREMELY UNSAFE AND UNSECURED SITUATION, ESPECIALLY IN THE WINTER CONDITIONS WE EXPERIENCE HERE IN THE NORTHWEST. THERE ARE HUNDREDS IF NOT THOUSANDS OF SIMILAR INCIDENTS POSTED ON THE INTERNET FOR THIS MODEL, 2004-2008. *TR
THE PASSENGER SIDE REAR DOOR WINDOW MADE A LOUD POP AND SLOWLY BEGAN TO FALL DOWNWARD WHILE DRIVING. THIS IS THE DOOR RIGHT NEXT TO MY CHILD'S CAR SEAT. THIS IS THE 4TH WINDOW IT HAS HAPPENED TO. *TR
ON THREE SEPARATE OCCASIONS IN THE PAST YEAR AND A HALF THE WINDOW REGULATORS IN MY 2004 FORD F-150 TRUCK HAVE BROKEN. EACH TIME THE PART BROKE WITHOUT WARNING WHILE I WAS DRIVING. THE WINDOW JUST SUDDENLY SLAMS DOWN INTO THE FRAME OF THE DOOR, AND CAN NO LONGER BE RETURNED TO THE "UP" POSITION. I AM CERTAIN THE LAST OF MY FOUR WINDOWS WILL SOON BREAK AS WELL. HOPEFULLY NOT DURING A MONSOON RAINSTORM. THE APPROXIMATE INCIDENT DATES OF THESE BREAKAGES ARE: 03-03-08, 09-03-08 AND LASTLY 9-01-09. I WILL ONLY LIST THE MOST RECENT OCCURRENCE BELOW. *TR
2004 FORD F150 WITH 4.6 ENGINE. 140,616 MILES. #2 SPARK PLUG BLEW OUT OF HEAD. HAD TO HAVE HELI-COIL INSERT INSTALLED. *TR
THE AUTOMATIC WINDOWS HAVE HAD 3 PROBLEMS. I'VE HAD THE REGULATOR GO OUT ONCE AND HAVE HAD THE POWER ASSEMBLY / CONTROL PANEL REPLACED TWICE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE DRIVERS SIDE POWER WINDOW DROPPED DOWN INTO THE DOOR PANEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE IT WAS REPAIRED. THE SAME FAILURE OCCURRED APPROXIMATELY TWO YEARS LATER ON THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER FOR REPAIRS. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE 71,000. I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE POWER WINDOW REGULATORS IN MY 2004 FORD 150 4 TIMES! THE DEALER CHARGES ME $400 TO REPLACE EACH TIME. THE DEALER CLAIMS THIS IS NOT A DEFECT. RESEARCH ON THE WEB REVEALS OTHERWISE. THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM. *TR

DRIVER SIDE WINDOW IN MY 2004 F-150 LARIAT FELL DOWN IN THE DOOR WHILE TRAVELING 35MPH DOWN THE ROAD. IT MADE A VERY LOUD THUMP SOUND BEFORE IT FELL. *TR
2004 FORD F-150 CREWCAB WHILE DRIVING( SATURDAY, AUGUST 29TH 2009) MY PASSENGER REAR WINDOW DROPPED INTO DOOR. AFTER FINDING IT IS CAUSED FROM A PLASTIC PART ON A WINDOW REGULATOR I ALSO FOUND SEVERAL HUNDRED COMPLAINTS ON THE INTERNET. *TR
IT LOOKS LIKE THERE WILL HAVE TO BE A NUMBER OF INJURIES OR DEATHS BEFORE A RECALL IS PUT IN EFFECT HERE. I HAVE A FORD F150 SUPERCREW 2004, THE DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW DROPPED AND SHATTERED SUDDENLY WHILE DRIVING IN HEAVY TRAFFIC WITH A LOUD NOISE AND SHATTERED GLASS. I THOUGHT I WAS SHOT AT, AT THE TIME AND WAS VERY LUCKY THERE WAS NOT A SERIOUS ACCIDENT KILLING AND INJURING MANY PEOPLE. KIDS WERE CRYING AND ALL INSIDE VEHICLE WERE VERY UPSET. AFTERWARDS I REMOVED THE WINDOW GLASS AND THE REGULATOR ASSEMBLY AND THE PROBLEM IS THE PLASTIC CLIPS THAT HOLD THE CONTROL CABLES IN PLACE. THEY APPEAR TO BE CHEAP AND FRAGILE AND OBVIOUSLY BREAK EASILY AND FOR NO REASON, LETTING THE CABLES COME OUT OF THEIR GUIDES AND THEREFORE DROPPING THE WINDOW UNEXPECTEDLY. I HAVE TAKEN NUMEROUS PICTURES IF ANYONE FROM FORD, NHTSA OR ANYONE ELSE WOULD LIKE TO SEE. THIS INCIDENT REALLY SCREWED UP A OTHERWISE GREAT DAY BECAUSE OF SHODDY ENGINEERING AND QUALITY FROM A AMERICAN CAR COMPANY (FORD). I AM IN THE PROCESS OF BUYING AND REPLACING THIS WINDOW REGULATOR MYSELF AT A COST OF $187 + TAX + TIME + INCONVENIENCE WITH NO ASSURANCE THIS WILL NOT HAPPEN AGAIN. *TR
MY 2004 F-150 (A $34,00 VEHICLE)FORD PICKUP TRUCK (58,000 MILES) BLEW A SPARK PLUG OUT OF THE HEAD IN AUGUST OF 2009. A FORD DEALER FIXED THE PROBLEM BY PUTTING IN A HELICOIL INTO THE PLUG TO REPAIR THE ISSUE. ($580) THIS PAST FEBRUARY IT BLEW A PLUG AGAIN, THE DEALER TOLD ME THAT THE ONLY RELIABLE FIX WAS TO PUT IN A NEW ENGINE HEAD. THE COST FOR THIS WAS $3,000 DOLLARS. IF YOU LOOK AT THIS WEB SITE YOU WILL SEE THE THOUSANDS OF CONSUMERS THAT HAVE FACE THIS DEFECT. IT IS APPARENT THAT FORD IS TURNING THEIR BACK AND IGNORING THE ISSUE THAT THESE VEHICLES SHOULD BE RECALLED. PASSENGER FRONT AND PASSENGER REAR GLASS FALLEN INTO DOOR. WILL NOT RESPOND TO ELECTRIC WINDOW BUTTON. *TR
MY DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING MY 2004 F150 WHEN SHE HEARD A 'POP' TYPE NOISE, THEN THE DRIVER SIDE WINDOW FELL DOWN INTO THE DOOR. THIS IS AN EXTREME SAFETY HAZARD AS IT IS COMPLETELY STARTLING AND CAN CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. FORTUNATELY SHE WAS DRIVING IN THE CITY AT REDUCED SPEED WHEN IT OCCURRED AND NO ACCIDENT OCCURRED. IT DID SCARE HER AS IT WAS TOTALLY UNEXPECTED . SHE CALLED AND TOLD ME ABOUT IT SO I CALLED MY MECHANIC. HIS KNOWN REPAIR HISTORY FOR THE F150 INDICATES THAT THE NOISE AND THE SUDDEN WINDOW DROPPING IS THAT OF THE WINDOW REGULATOR BREAKING IN THE DOOR. APPARENTLY THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING PROBLEM AND FORD HAS UNDERGONE 3 REVISIONS, OR IS ON THEIR 3RD MODEL OF THAT WINDOW REGULATOR AND THIS IS A DANGER TO ALL WHO DRIVE WHEN THIS OCCURS AND QUITE POSSIBLY A DANGER TO OTHER VEHICLES ON THE ROAD DUE TO A POSSIBLE ACCIDENT OCCURRING. . THIS PRODUCT MUST BE RECALLED DUE TO FAULTY DESIGN AS NO WINDOW SHOULD DO THIS. I WANT FORD MOTOR TO REPLACE BOTH MY WINDOW REGULATORS, B/C IF IT HAS HAPPENED TO ONE, IT WILL PROBABLY SOON HAPPEN TO THE OTHER. AND WHEN MY MECHANIC SAYS THE TRACK RECORD TO REPAIR THIS WILL COST A PERSON $250 - 400, THAT IS COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE. *TR
2004 F150 TRUCK WINDOW CAME CRASHING DOWN WHILE DRIVING, BIG LOUD POP THEN THE WINDOW CRASHED I HAVE BEEN READING ONLINE AND THERE ARE OVER 1000 COMPLAINTS SAME SITUATION. THE REGULATORS NEED TO BE RECALLED INSTANTLY. *TR
3 OF THE 4 WINDOW REGULATORS ON THE FORD F150 TRUCK HAVE GONE OUT IN THE PAST 2 MONTHS. EACH TIME IT COSTS ABOUT $350 TO REPLACE THE PART. AS THE FAILURES OCCUR, YOU CAN HEAR A GRINDING SOUND AS THE SWITCH IS ACTIVATED, FOLLOWED BY A CASCADE OF BROKEN PIECES FALLING DOWN INSIDE THE DOOR SOMEWHERE. THEN THE WINDOW GOES NEITHER UP NOR DOWN. IF YOU CHECK SOME OF THE AUTO FORUMS, THIS IS A FREQUENT COMPLAINT FOR THE 2004 MODEL. BY THE TIME IT IS ALL DONE, IT WILL COST ME $1200 OR MORE. THE PARTS ARE OBVIOUSLY DEFECTIVE!!!!!! FORD SHOULD MAKE GOOD ON THIS PROBLEM. *TR
DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW HAS FALLEN INTO DOOR AND NOW WON'T ROLL BACK UP. THIS OCCURRED WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS POWERED OFF SITTING IN MY DRIVEWAY. INVESTIGATION OF THE CAUSE BY INTERNET DISCUSSION GROUP REVEALS NUMEROUS SAME COMPLAINTS FROM FORD F150 OWNERS SUGGESTING A COMMON DEFECT THAT REQUIRES RECALL. *TR
WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND MY PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW FELL DOWN. I ONLY HAD 68,000 MILES AND THIS REPAIR COST ME $275. HAVE ALWAYS BOUGHT F150 THIS IS MY 3RD ONE. AND WAS ALWAYS HAPPY WITH WINDOWS BEFORE, BUT NOW WITH THIS NEW PULLEY SYSTEM THE WINDOWS GO UP AND DOWN SLOW LIKE A CHEVY AND WORSE FALL DOWN AND DON'T COME BACK UP. PLEASE MAKE THIS RIGHT BY ISSUING A RECALL. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL REPAIR FACILITY; HOWEVER, THE MECHANIC COULD NOT IDENTIFY THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. SHE NOTIFIED THE MANUFACTURER IN REFERENCE TO RECALL # 06E056000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE); HOWEVER, A REPRESENTATIVE STATED THAT SINCE THE VIN NUMBER WAS EXCLUDED, SHE WAS INELIGIBLE FOR A FREE REMEDY. NO REPAIRS HAVE BEEN MADE. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 114,000.

THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP PERFORMING THE REPAIR HAS QUOTED THE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR ASSEMBLY AS BEING THE PROBLEM, AND QUOTED $450 TO REPLACE THE DEFECTIVE PART. *TR
RIGHT REAR WINDOW IN MY 2004 FORD F150 FELL WHILE DRIVING HOME ON I10 WITH A INFANT AND A TWO YEAR OLD IN THEIR CAR SEATS. I AM REALLY UPSET THAT FORD HAS DONE NOTHING ABOUT THIS. PASSENGER DOOR REGULATOR BROKE WHILE DRIVING. SECOND ONE IN A YEAR AND A HALF. TRUCK HAS ONLY 39,000 MILES ON IT. $398.00 TO FIX IT THE FIRST TIME $475.00 TO FIX IT THE SECOND TIME. FORD SHOULD RECALL ALL F-150 DOOR REGULATORS OR HELP WITH THE COST OF REPLACING THEM. *TR
I DRIVE A 2004 FORD F-150 SUPER CREW THE WINDOW REGULATORS KEEP FAILING. IT HAS HAPPENED TO ALL 4 DOORS IN MY TRUCK MORE THAN ONCE. I HAVE HAD FORD REPLACE 2 OF THEM AND DUE TO THE HIGH COST I AM REPAIRING THEM THE BEST I CAN NOW. THE INCIDENTS STARTED MARCH OF 2007 (JUST WHEN THE WARRANTY IS UP), WHAT HAPPENS IS THAT YOU WILL BE DRIVING ALONG AND ROLL DOWN THE WINDOW. A LOUD NOISE WILL OCCUR AND THE WINDOW FALLS TO THE BOTTOM OF THE DOOR. THE PROBLEM WITH THE WINDOW REGULATORS IS THAT THE CABLE SYSTEM DOES NOT STAY IN PLACE. I KNOW THAT MANY OTHER PEOPLE ARE HAVING THE SAME TROUBLE WITH THIS, SO PLEASE GET FORD TO RECALL THIS PROBLEM BEFORE SOMEONE OR SOMETHING IS INJURED. THERE WAS NO INJURIES OR OTHER MISHAPS DUE TO THESE FAILURES YOU COULD CALL THESE NEAR MISSES. THESE FAILURES COULD CAUSE INJURIES OR DAMAGE TO OTHER CARS ON THE ROADS. THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME. *TR
I ATTEMPTED TO PUT MY PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW DOWN & IT CRASHED DOWN INTO THE DOOR WITH THE GLASS SHATTERING AS IT DROPPED INTO THE DOOR FRAME. APPROXIMATELY TWO YEARS AGO I HAD THE DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW LOOKED AT IT SOUNDED STRANGE ON OPERATION. FORD DEALERS DISAGREED. ONE MONTH LATER THE WINDOW FAILED TO OPERATE & FORD FIXED THE WINDOW AT THEIR COST. I ALSO HAD THEM CHECK ALL OF THE OTHER WINDOWS BECAUSE THEY TOO DID NOT SOUND CORRECT WHEN OPERATING AND NOTHING WAS FOUND WRONG AT THAT TIME. ON THURSDAY, AUGUST 13, 2009, I WAS PUTTING MY SON IN MY TRUCK TO HEAD OFF TO WORK. AS WE PULLED AWAY, HE STARTED SAYING SOMETHING ABOUT THE WINDOW. I LOOKED BACK AND THE WINDOW NEXT TO HIM WAS DOWN ABOUT 3 INCHES. BY THE TIME WE GOT TO HIS DAYCARE, THE WINDOW WAS ALL THE WAY DOWN. I HAD TO GO BACK HOME, PULL THE WINDOW UP AND JAM IT INTO PLACE. THE PREVIOUS OCCURRENCES HAVE BEEN UNDER EITHER FACTORY OR EXTENDED WARRANTY, BUT THIS ONE WILL NOT BE. FORTUNATELY NONE OF THEM HAVE HAPPENED WHILE I WAS DRIVING LIKE OTHER DRIVERS I HAVE SEEN ON THIS WEBSITE. HOW MANY MORE PEOPLE NEED TO COMPLAIN BEFORE THE AGENCY TAKES ACTION? MY OVERDRIVE GEAR GOT WIPED OUT. WHILE DRIVING THE TRUCK I GOT UP TO 30 MPH AND THE ENGINE STARTED TO REV UP REAL BAD AND WOULD NOT MOVE. THE TRUCK HAS 65,000 MILES ON IT AND WAS NOT BEATEN ON AT ALL. JUST ONE MONTH PAST THE EXTENDED WARRANTY AND FORD WON'T HONOR THE WARRANTY OR EXTEND IT. FROM WHAT I AM READING THIS HAPPENS A LOT TO THE 2004S. THE NEXT VEHICLE WON'T BE A FORD.. I SUGGEST THAT NO ONE BUYS A FORD TRUCK AS THEY WILL HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. I HAVE A 2004 F150 SUPERCREW THE WINDOW JUST ALL OF A SUDDEN FELL DOWN INTO THE DOOR PANEL AND WOULD NOT RAISE BACK UP. AFTER TALKING TO THE DEALER WHO KNEW EXACTLY WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS BY OVER THE PHONE DESCRIPTION SAID IT WAS THE WINDOW REGULATOR. I WENT ONLINE AND NOTICED THAT I WAS NOT THE ONLY ONE, I HAVE READ CLOSE TO 200 POST ON THIS SAME PROBLEM. IT IS A SHAME THAT FORD IS ALLOWED TO PUT DEFECTIVE PARTS ON THESE VEHICLES.THESE REGULATORS COST $370.00 TO BE REPLACED AND THAT'S ONE DOOR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS ASSOCIATED WITH THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000.

IT WILL NOT ROLL BACK UP AND I WENT TO A WEBSITE TO SEE IF I COULD FIX IT AND FOUND MANY OTHER OWNERS WITH MULTIPLE SIMILAR PROBLEMS AND DESCRIPTIONS. AS MANY OTHERS, I TOO HAVE A 2004 FORD F-150 WITH DEFECTIVE POWER WINDOWS. THE REGULATOR IN THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR HAS BROKEN TWICE AND THE REGULATOR IN THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR HAS BROKEN ONCE. FORD CHARGES $400 TO REPAIR IT. THE SERVICE MAN TOLD ME THAT THE DEFECTIVE PIECE IS A PLASTIC WHEEL WITH A CABLE. THE PART ALONE COST $190. 2004 WAS THE YEAR THE FORD REDESIGNED THE F-150. THEY OBVIOUSLY ENGINEERED A CHEAPLY MADE ELECTRIC WINDOW REGULATOR AND ARE AWARE OF IT BUT HAVE NOT RECALLED THE PART. FORD SHOULD BE MADE TO UPHOLD ITS COMMITMENT TO PROVIDING QUALITY PRODUCTS. IN FIVE YEARS, I HAVE ONLY LOWERED THE REAR WINDOW MAYBE FIVE TIMES. SO THE PROBLEM IS NOT OVERUSE. IT'S SIMPLY POOR CRAFTSMANSHIP AND TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. *TR
