ON MY 2004 FORD F-150 SUPER CAB THE WINDOW REGULATORS HAVE FAILED MECHANICALLY ON BOTH SIDES. THE RESULT OF THE FAILURE IS THE WINDOW DROPPING INTO THE WINDOW WELL ABRUPTLY. I CAN UNDERSTAND 1 BUT BOTH WITHIN 2 WEEKS OF EACH OTHER INDICATES A DESIGN FLAW. *JB
DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW REGULATOR FAILED, WINDOW WENT DOWN AND WILL NOT ROLL BACK UP. TRYING TO FIX MYSELF, BUT WILL HAVE TO PURCHASE PARTS FROM FORD. THE TRUCK IS A 2004 F150 XLT SUPER CREW WITH 69K MILES. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, THE CONTACT OBSERVED A LOUD, ABNORMAL NOISE. THE CONTACT DISCOVERED ALL FOUR POWER WINDOWS WERE INOPERABLE. THE DEALER ADVISED THE WINDOW REGULATORS FAILED AND REPLACED THE REGULATOR AT THE CONTACTS EXPENSE. THE FAILURE RECURRED THREE TIMES AND THE REGULATORS WERE REPLACED BY THE DEALER AND AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE MANUFACTURER WOULD NOT PROVIDE ANY ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 26,887 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 46,800.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 FORD F150. THE CONTACT PARKED THE VEHICLE AFTER DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MILES AND NOTICED THAT THE TIRE WAS ALMOST FLAT. WHILE HE INFLATED THE TIRE, HE NOTICED AIR EXITED THROUGH A SPLIT IN THE RIM. THE DEALER STATED THERE WOULD BE NOTHING THEY COULD DO FOR HIM. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 112,000. THE CONSUMER STATED THAT THIS WAS THE THIRD RIM PURCHASED. UPDATED 09/05/07 *TR
I HAVE OWNED THE TRUCK FOR APPROX. 7 WEEKS. DURING THE TEST DRIVE I NOTICED A VIBRATION STARTING AROUND 55 MPH. THE TRUCK HAD 41000 MILES ON IT. THE DEALER AGREED TO BALANCE THE TIRES. AFTER BALANCING THE PROBLEM STILL OCCURRED. IT GETS SEVERE AROUND 70-74 MPH WITH STEERING WHEEL VIBRATIONS. I WILL BE TAKING THE TRUCK INTO THE SHOP FOR THE 45000 MILE SERVICE WITHIN TWO WEEKS AND WILL BE TALKING TO THE SERVICE DEPT. *JB
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 FORD F150. HE NOTICED THAT THE SPARK PLUGS WERE BREAKING OFF AND GOING INTO THE ENGINE. AS A RESULT, THE DEALER STATED THAT THE ENGINE SHOULD BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THEY HAVE RECEIVED NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS REGARDING THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 73,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
FRONT BRAKE SHUDDER BEFORE AND AFTER DEALER SUPPOSEDLY REPLACED ROTORS PRIOR TO PURCHASE. *TR
2004 FORD F-150 WITH 5.4L GAS ENGINE. MANUAL SAYS CHANGE SPARK PLUGS AT 100K MILES. DEALER BROKE ALL 8 PLUGS OFF IN HEADS. THE HEADS HAD TO BE REMOVED. BILL IS $2,000, JUST TO CHANGE SPARK PLUGS. *JB
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE AT 60 MPH IN A 65MPH ZONE WHEN OUT OF NOWHERE WITH NO PRIOR WARNING OR INDICATION OF MALFUNCTION IT HAPPENED. NO CRASH BUT EMERGENCY STOP DID HAVE TO HAPPEN AND COULD HAVE CAUSED A CRASH. THE EMERGENCY BRAKE ACTUATOR FROZE UP ON THE REAR RIGHT SIDE OF MY F150 2004 SUPERCREW WITH ONLY 46,000 MILES ON THE ODO. THIS FREEZE UP CAUSED THE REAR BRAKE TO ENGAGE INVOLUNTARILY AND DESTROYED THE ACTUATOR, THE BRAKE PADS, AND THE ROTOR. *TR
WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY, PASSENGER DOOR WINDOW WAS ROLLED DOWN WHEN IT SUDDENLY FAILED AND ROLLED DOWN ON ITS OWN. PRIOR TO THIS FAILURE, A LOUD SNAP WAS HEARD AND THE WINDOW REMAINED DOWN AND UNABLE TO ROLLED THE WINDOW UP TO SECURE THE INTERIOR OF F150 2004 LARIAT PICKUP TRUCK. *TR
THE CARS' A/C TURNS OFF BY ITSELF IT HAPPENS RANDOMLY AND ITS BEEN HAPPENING EVER SINCE I BOUGHT THE CAR. WHICH WAS IN NOVEMBER 2004. *TR
SINCE I BOUGHT THIS TRUCK IT START IT HAVING TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS , I WOULD GET IN THE DASHBOARD TRANSMISSION FAULT AND TOOK IT TO THE DEALER (7 TIMES FOR TRANSMISSION) AND THEY WOULD SAID THERE NOTHING WRONG . NOW THERE IS NO WARRANTY THEY WANT TO CHARGE ME 3000 DOLLARS . *TR
AS I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM WORK TODAY MY DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW MADE A LOUD POP NOISE AND IT FELL INTO THE DOOR, I WAS NOT LOWERING MY WINDOW AT THE TIME, JUST BASICALLY DRIVING NORMALLY. I AM NOW UNABLE TO RAISE IT. LAST YEAR IT HAPPENED TO ME WITH MY DRIVER SIDE BACK WINDOW. I HAD TO TAKE THE DOOR PANEL OFF AND HAVE IT FIXED. AFTER READING PREVIOUS COMPLAINTS AND SEEING THAT IT IS A PROBLEM I AM VERY WORRIED ABOUT THE SAFETY OF MY CHILDREN WHILE I AM DRIVING. MY '04 FORD F150 EXPERIENCED A COMPLETE TRANSMISSION FAILURE AT 28,000 MILES. THE TRUCK WAS 6 DAYS PAST THE MANUFACTURERS FACTORY WARRANTY. THE TRUCK HAD BEEN REGULARLY SERVICED, WELL MAINTAINED - I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER. COST TO REPLACE WAS $2,200. *TR
2004 FORD F-150 SUPERCREW 4X4 HAS DRIVE TRAIN PROBLEMS. UPON ACCELERATING FROM STOP, TRANSAXLE DOES NOT SEEM TO ENGAGE CORRECTLY, CASUING A NOISE, AND FEELING AS IF TRCUKS DRIVE SAHFT IS COMING OUT OF TRANSAXLE. POSSIBLY COVERED UNDER NHTSA ITEM NUMBERS: 10020175 AND 10018951. THIS HAS BEEN A REOCCURING ISSUE WITH THIS TRUCK SINCE I HAVE OWNED IT, WITH DOCUMENTATION.
I WAS DRIVING A 2004 FORD 150 PICKUP SOUTH ON INTERSTATE 29 NEAR GLENWOOD IOWA WHEN THE STEERING WHEEL BEGAN TO VIBRATE. I TRIED TO PULL TO THE RIGHT TO SEE WHAT WAS CAUSING IT WHEN THE RIGHT FRONT TIRE SEEMED TO EXPLODE. I WAS ABLE TO PULL OFF THE HIGHWAY TO THE RIGHT WITHOUT LOSING CONTROL OF THE TRUCK AND GOT OUT TO SEE WHAT HAD HAPPENED. I FOUND THE RIGHT FRONT PASSENGER TIRE STILL INFLATED BUT WITHOUT ANY TREAD ON THE TIRE. I ALSO FOUND HALF THE RUNNING BOARD WAS MISSING, AND A SMALL DENT IN THE DOOR JUST ABOVE WHERE THE RUNNING BOARD USED TO BE. I CALLED A TOW TRUCK AND HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO TINCHER FORD IN GLENWOOD IOWA AND HAD THE TIRE REPLACED. THIS COST WA S$157.00. I STILL DID NOT KNOW WHAT IT WAS GOING TO COST TO REPLACE THE RUNNING BOARD. THE MECHANIC MENTIONED HE HAD NEVER SEEN THE TREAD ON A TIRE SEPARATE THE WAY THIS ONE DID. I KEPT THE OLD TIRE AND REPLACED IT WITH THE EXACT SAME BRAND, A GENERAL AMERITRAC TR P255/70 R17. I AM NERVOUS ABOUT DRIVING ON THESE TIRES NOW WITH THE FEAR OF THIS REOCCURING. I JUST HEARD THERE HAS BEEN A SERIES OF ACCIDENTS AND EVEN DEATHS CAUSED BY THIS TIRE. I WOULD ALSO LIKE TO RECOVER THE COST OF THE REPAIRS TO MY PICKUP AND TIRES.*AK
MY ACCIDENT IN A PARKING DECK IS ON SECURITY RECORDING AT THE BEAU RIVAGE CASINO IN BILOXI, MS I THINK. FORD CANNOT EXPLAIN WHY A WHEEL BROKE OFF AT 8 MPH. I CAUGHT AN 18" H X 6" W X 24' L STEEL TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICE WITH THE OUTSIDE EDGE OF MY FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE TIRE. I DON'T KNOW HOW FAST I WAS GOING BUT THE TAPE DOES. I THINK IT LESS THAN 10 MPH. I AM PRETTY SURE I WAS BRAKING WHEN IT HAPPENED. I WAS ON A DOWN RAMP AND THERE WERE OTHER CARS. I WAS TAKING CARE, BUT LOOKING AT ANOTHER CAR PULLING IN NEXT TO ME WHEN THE ACCIDENT OCCURRED. IT'S ON TAPE. ANYWAY, MY FRONT WHEEL SNAPPED OFF. FORD HAS A NON EXPLANATION. THEY AGREE THIS IS NOT SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN UNDER THE CONDITIONS IT DID, AND SINCE IT MAY HAVE BEEN TAPED...THE BEAU WON'T GIVE IT UP TO ME BUT MAYBE YOU....HAVE GIVEN AN ALTERNATIVE EXPLANATION THAT MAKES NO SENSE. ACCORDING TO FORD, BOTH ASTRO FORD IN D'IBERVILLE, MS AND THE MYSTERIOUS ADJUSTER (APPARENTLY HE IS NOT COMPUNCTED TO STATE HIS FINDINGS, JUST JUDGMENT) WHO SEEMINGLY CONCURS WITH ASTRO, THERE IS A PART MISSING THAT HAD TO HAVE BEEN LEFT OUT IN ONE OF TWO MAINTENANCE (BRAKE AND ALIGN) JOBS, THE MOST RECENT OF WHICH WAS MORE THAN 20000 MILES AGO. WHEN ASKED IF I COULD OPERATE THE TRUCK WITH THE PART MISSING, THEY CALL IT A KEY, THE ANSWER WAS A DEFINITIVE AND UNANIMOUS NO. WOULD THE TIRE WEAR FUNNY? THEY SAY YES, AND AGREE IT IS NOT. THERE IS NOTHING, WHEN YOU LOOK CLOSELY AT THIS TRUCK, THAT WOULD INDICATE ANY FORM OF HARD LIVING. THE SPARE TIRE IS UNUSED. THE REASON WHY I KNOW 20000 SINCE ANYTHING IS BECAUSE THAT'S WHEN THE TIRE WAS MOUNTED ON THE WHEEL THAT FAILED AND OTHER THAN WASHING IT, THAT'S THE LAST ATTENTION THAT WHEEL HAD. I HAVE THAT RECORD. NEITHER THE BRAKES OR ALIGNMENT WERE DONE SINCE. *TR
I PURCHASED A 2004 FORD F-150 TRUCK NEW, AND I AM HAVING ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS, WHICH STARTED AT APPROXIMATELY15000 MILES AND HAVE BEEN CONSISTENT. . CURRENTLY, I HAVE 33000 MILES ON THIS VEHICLE. DEALER MAINTAINED SINCE NEW. *AK
DRIVING ON 115TH ST AND I -57 OVERPASS IN CHICAGO & LEFT FRONT WHEEL ASSEMBLY CAME OFF WHEN THE A-FRAME BROKE AND WENT ACROSS 2 LANES OF TAFFIC . THIS IS A 2004 FORD F-150 WITH 59,354 MILES. NO WARNING WHEN IT HAPPENED. THE VEHICLE SLID TO THE RAILROAD TRACK AND FLIPPED SIDEWAYS PARALLEL TO THE TRACKS AND RT. FRONT SIDE A-FRAME BROKE. THERE WAS EXTENSIVE FRONT END DAMAGE AND BACK OF CAB HIT BED AND CREASED ABOUT AN INCH DEEP, BUCKLED THE BED ABOVE THE WHEEL 3 INCHES. BENT THE FRAME & INS. CO. SAID IT WAS NOT TOTALED BUT HAS BEEN 10 WEEKS PLUS AND THEY ARE STILL WORKING ON IT. NO OTHER VEHICLE INVOLVED. FORD REFUSED TO LOOK AT IT. THE DEALER WOULD NOT TURN IN A CLAIM ON THE COMPRHENSIVE WARRANTY FOR 72 MO OR 100,00 MILES. SO WE ARE STUCK AGAIN-NO VEHICLE FOR OVER 10 WEEKS AND STILL NOT REPAIRED. BODY SHOP IS STILL PUTTING PARTS ON IT. HOW MANY OTHERS HAS HAD THIS HAPPEN? *JB
OVER THE COURSE OF A YEAR ALL FOUR WINDOWS ON MY 2004 F150 HAVE FAILED. THE BRACKET MECHANISM BREAKS, FOLLOWING A LARGE NOISE, AND THE WINDOW SLIDES DOWN. EACH INSTANCE I HAD TO TAKE THE VEHICLE INTO THE FORD DEALERSHIP TO HAVE THE REGULATOR ASSEMBLY REPLACED. *TR
DURING THE FIRST WEEK OF JULY 2007 THE PASSENGER'S SIDE WINDOW SUDDENLY SLID DOWN WHEN I ACTIVATED THE ELECTRIC WINDOW. DURING THE SECOND WEEK OF THE SAME MONTH THE DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW SUDDENLY SLID DOWN WHEN ACTIVATED. I REMOVED THE INSIDE PANEL COVER OF THE DOORS AND NOTICED THE CABLING HANGING LOOSE AND WOUND AROUND TWISTED ON THE MOTOR THAT CAUSED THE WINDOW TO GO UP AND DOWN. UPON INSPECTION, THE PROBLEM WAS ATTRIBUTED TO WEAK, BAD OR INCORRECT DESIGN. THIS SUDDEN PROBLEM CAUSED A SEVERE SAFETY RISK TO ANY DRIVER OR PASSENGERS. *AK
THE POWER WINDOW MOTORS ON THE 2004 F-150 SUPERCREW FAILED. THE MOTORS JUST STOPPED WORKING AND THE WINDOW PROCEEDED TO SLIDE DOWN. THE FORD DEALERSHIP, SUNSET FORD, 623-977-5233, HAS ACKNOWLEDGED THAT THERE WAS A DEFECT, BUT WON'T PROACTIVE REPLACE THE MOTORS. THIS HAS CAUSED A HAZARD BECAUSE I WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE AND THE PASSENGER WINDOW SUDDENLY FAILED, CAUSING IT TO SLIDE ALL THE WAY DOWN. MY SON WAS SEAT BELTED IN,. HOWEVER, HIS WINDOW HAD NO CONTROLS. NOT TO MENTION THAT I HAD A $700 GPS STOLEN FROM THE TRUCK AS ANOTHER WINDOW JUST FAILED.*AK
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DIFFERENTIAL PRESSURE SENSOR (DPS) HAS MELTED AND BURNED UP ON HER ENGINE. WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH UPHILL, THE VEHICLE BEGAN LOSING SPEED, MAKING A HISSING NOISE, AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE RESTARTED AND SHE WAS ABLE TO DRIVE HOME. SHE STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVING NORMALLY WHEN DRIVING STRAIGHT, BUT THE ENGINE FAILED WHEN ATTEMPTING TO DRIVE UPHILL. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 86,226.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 FORD F150. WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH THE ENGINE SHUT OFF WITHOUT WARNING AND HE WAS UNABLE RESTART THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THE #5 IGNITION COIL CAUGHT FIRE AND BLEW A RELAY FUSE. THE FAILURE PREVIOUSLY OCCURRED WITH THE #6 IGNITION COIL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 191,361 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 191,461.
I OWN A 2004 FORE F-150 CREWCAB. IN JUNE 2007 THE DRIVER WINDOW FAILED DURING OPERATION. IT WAS REPAIRED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR $262.20. IN MARCH 2008 THE PASSENGER WINDOW FAILED DURING SIMILAR CIRCUMSTANCES. THE SAME MECHANIC REPAIRED THE WINDOW FOR $266.91. IN JUNE 2009 THE REAR PASSENGER WINDOW FAILED DURING OPERATION. MY HUSBAND AND I HAVE IDENTIFIED THE FAILED PART WITHIN THE REGULATOR AND ARE SEEKING TO REPAIR IT OURSELVES. WE ARE EAGERLY AWAITING THE REAR DRIVER WINDOW TO FAIL AND HOPE WE ARE NOT DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS WHEN IN IT HAPPENS. *TR

THE FAILURE RECURRED ON THE REAR DRIVER SIDE WINDOW AND THE DEALER REPLACED THE REGULATOR. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE WINDOW. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS AWAITING A THIRD REPAIR. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 71,000.
THREE WINDOWS IN THE 2004 F150 CREW CAB HAD THE WINDOW REGULATORS BREAK, CAUSING THE WINDOW TO DROP INTO THE DOOR. THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED THE TRUCK WAS UNDER WARRANTY AND DEALER FIXED AND SAID IT WAS A KNOWN ISSUE. SECOND TIME IT OCCURRED WAS OUT OF WARRANTY, BUT COVERED BY EXTENDED WARRANTY AFTER PAYING DEALER $50.00. THE WINDOW THAT DROPPED TODAY WAS COVERED UNDER EXTENDED WARRANTY, BUT WILL COST ANOTHER $50.00. DEALER SAID IT WAS A KNOWN ISSUE, AND STILL CHARGED TO FIX THE WINDOW.*AK
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH IN WET CONDITIONS, THE CONTACT LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND IT FLIPPED OVER. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE CONTACT WAS WEARING HIS SEAT BELT. THE CONTACT WAS UNSURE OF WHAT CAUSED HIM TO LOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A BODY SHOP. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED MINOR INJURIES. THE VIN AND PURCHASE DATE WERE UNAVAILABLE. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 29,000.
NOTHING LED TO THE FAILURE, THE REGULATORS JUST FAILED. AT THE TIME I DROVE MY TRUCK MAYBE ONCE A WEEK, AS I WAS A STAY AT HOME MOM. I BELIEVE I WAS ON MY WAY TO KAISER FOR A "WELL BABY" CHECK UP WHEN I TRIED TO ROLL MY WINDOW UP, IT JUST DROPPED IN TO THE DOOR, NEVER TO BE SEEN AGAIN. AT LEAST NOT UNTIL MY HUSBAND RIGGED IT TO STAY UP. ABOUT 2 MONTHS LATER, THE SAME THING HAPPENED TO A DIFFERENT WINDOW AS WE WERE PULLING OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY TO GO ON A CAMPING TRIP. THAT WAS A GOOD KICKER FOR THE 2+ HOUR DRIVE. THE TRUCK DIDN'T EVEN HAVE 40,000 MILES YET. IT'S BEEN ABOUT 2 YEARS SINCE THEN AND I STILL CAN'T AFFORD TO PAY NEARLY $800 TO GET THEM BOTH FIXED. THE SECOND WINDOW REGULATOR THAT BROKE ISN'T RIGGED AS WELL TO STAY UP, IT STILL FALLS. SO, IT'S GREAT WHEN IT FALLS ALL THE WAY DOWN ON MY WAY TO DAY CARE IN THE MORNING SO MY TWO TODDLERS CAN FREEZE. I LOVE FORD! NOT REALLY, I WISH I HAD NEVER BOUGHT THIS TRUCK OR STEPPED FOOT IN THEIR DEALERSHIP. BUT AS LONG AS THEY ARE GETTING MY MONEY, THEY DON'T GIVE A '!@#$% ABOUT ME OR MY FAMILY.
I HAVE A 2004 F150 WITH 22,000 MILES ON IT AND EVERY WINDOW REGULATOR IN THE TRUCK HAS GONE OUT AND SEND THE WINDOW CRASHING DOWN. THIS IS THE FOURTH ONE. FORD WILL NOT RECALL IT, IT IS A KNOW ISSUE. THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME, "LADY ITS YOU AND THOUSANDS LIKE YOU." *TR
1. VEHICLE FAIL SAFE LIGHT LUMINATED VEHICLE HAD HALF POWER. 2. VEHICLE WOULD NOT START FUSE KEEPS BLOWING. 3. FIRST OCCASION DEALER SERVICED VEHICLE FOUND NO MECHANICAL PROBLEMS. SECOND OCCASION DEALER HAD TO TRAVEL TO THE VEHICLE SINCE VEHICLE WAS IN A PARKING GARAGE AND A TOW TRUCK COULD NOT GET INTO THE GARAGE. DEALER STATED THEY FOUND A LEAK AND SILICONED THE LEAK. SPEED WAS NOT A FACTOR. THE DEALER REPLACED THE FUEL THROTTLE SENSOR AND CLEANED THE THROTTLE BODY. SEVERAL DAYS LATER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE DEALER STATED THAT SHE WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR TEN HOURS OF DIAGNOSTIC FEES BEFORE THEY COULD DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD A HISTORY OF STALLING PRIOR TO THE CONTACT MAKING THE PURCHASE. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER AND WAS REFERRED BACK TO THE DEALER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,601 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 57,700.

THE DEALER TOWED THE VEHICLE TO HAVE AN INVESTIGATOR DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE INVESTIGATOR CONCLUDED THAT THE CAUSE OF THE FIRE WAS THE CRUISE CONTROL. THE CRUISE CONTROL HAS NOT OPERATED NORMALLY IN OVER 1 YEAR. ALSO, THE DEALER STATED THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE VEHICLE. THEREFORE, THEY WERENOT LIABLE FOR DAMAGES. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HEWAS THE SECOND OWNER, AND NEVER RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGE WERE 137,000. THE CONTACT HAS PICTURES OF THE VEHICLE. I OWN A 2004 FORD F150, THREE OF MY WINDOW REGULATORS HAD TO BE REPLACED DUE TO POOR DESIGN FROM FORD. THE FRONT TWO WERE STILL UNDER WARRANTY, & THE RIGHT REAR WHICH WAS REPLACED LAST MONTH 08/2010 I HAD TO PAY OUT OF POCKET. READING ALL OF THE PRIOR COMPLAINS, I HAD SIMILAR SITUATIONS. THE WINDOWS JUST SIMPLY FALL DOWN WITHOUT ANY NOTICE. ONE OF THE INCIDENTS MY FAMILY & I WERE ON THE FREEWAY & WHEN ONE OF THE WINDOW REGULATORS WENT OUT IT CAUSED A LOUD SOUND, WE ACTUALLY THOUGHT SOMEONE HAD HIT US. POWER REAR SLIDING WINDOW DOES NOT WORK; FAILED WITHIN FIRST 2-3 MONTHS; NO COMPUTER CODE TO DETAIL THE ISSUE SO FORD WILL NOT FIX REGARDLESS OF CONFIRMED FAILURE AND WARRANTY COVERAGE. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE SPARK PLUG IN CYLINDER FIVE WAS BROKEN IN HALF. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 53504 AND THE FAILURE MILEAGE 53500. THE ENGINE SIZE, AND POWER-TRAIN WERE UNKNOWN. THE CONSUMER STATED THAT HE DIDN'T UNDERSTAND HOW THIS DEFECT COULD HAPPEN. "CONDENSATION" IN THE ENGINE BLOCK. AFTER FINDING WATER IN THE OIL OF MY VEHICLE, A 2004 FORD F150 WITH THE 5.4 LITER ENGINE, I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR HEAD/HEAD GASKET REPAIR ASSUMING THE WATER WAS ANTIFREEZE COMING FROM A FAILED HEAD GASKET. THE MECHANIC AT THE DEALERSHIP IDENTIFIED THE WATER IN THE OIL AND TOLD ME THAT THIS COMES FROM CONDENSATION IN THE ENGINE BLOCK AND THAT IT IS A NORMAL CONDITION IN ALL F150S WITH THE 5.4 LITER ENGINE. I DON'T KNOW IF THIS MEANS ONLY THOSE BUILT AFTER 2004, OR ALL. WATER IN ANY ENGINE IS NOT A GOOD THING AS IT CAUSES CORROSION, BREAKS DOWN LUBRICATION, ETCETERA. POTENTIAL FAILURE WOULD BE THAT THE ENGINE COULD PREMATURELY/UNEXPECTEDLY FAIL, STRANDING THE DRIVER AND HAVING A HUGE COST IMPLICATION FOR THE OWNER WHO WOULD LIKELY HAVE TO HAVE A REMANUFACTURED ENGINE INSTALLED AT THEIR OWN COST SINCE THE FAILURE IS LIKELY TO OCCUR AFTER THE 3 YEAR/36000 MILE WARRANTY HAS EXPIRED. I OWN A 2004 FORD F150 4X4. I HAD SERIOUS TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS AND HAD TO HAVE THE TRANSMISSION REPLACED. THE FIRST TIME WAS 2/07 WITH 42,000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE. I HAVE NEVER TOWED ANYTHING WITH THE TRUCK. MY MILE ARE COMMUTING MILES. THE TRANSMISSION WAS SUPPOSEDLY REPLACED. TL*- WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT 65 MPH THE RIGHT REAR AXLE ON THE 2004 FORD F-150 CRACKED. THERE WAS NO INDICATION, ANY TYPE OF VIBRATION, OR WARNING BEFORE THE INCIDENT. THE HUB STAYED ATTACHED TO THE WHEEL AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT. THE RIGHT REAR AXLE CRACKED WHICH CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO HAVE NO STEERING. THE DRIVER LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND CRASHED INTO A MEDIAN. THE CONTACT HAD THE VEHICLE SERVICED EVERY 3,000 MILES, AS WELL AS RECENTLY GETTING 4 NEW TIRES. MY DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW FELL INTO THE DOOR AND I WAS UNABLE TO RAISE IT WITH OUT TAKING THE DOOR PANEL COMPLETELY OFF. IT WAS 24 DEG F OUTSIDE AND I WAS EXPOSED TO THESE TEMPERATURES UNTIL I COULD GET TO A SAFE PLACE TO TEMPORARILY PROP UP THE WINDOW. AFTER RESEARCH I FOUND THIS WAS A QUALITY DEFECT ON THE WINDOW REGULATOR OF THE NEW STYLE FORD F150. THIS QUALITY DEFECT HAS POTENTIAL DANGEROUS CONSEQUENCES, IF MORE SEVERE WEATHER SUCH AS A SEVERE SNOW OR RAIN STORM EXISTED IT COULD HAVE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. *JB
PASSENGER SEAT BELT HAD STUCK IN THE PARTIALLY RETRACTED POSITION. IT WON'T COME OUT AND IT WON'T GO BACK. IT HAD GIVEN SOME PROBLEMS BEFORE, BUT I THINK THEY WERE RELATED TO PULLING IT OUT TOO FAR AND THE CHILD ADJUSTMENT FEATURE KEPT TIGHTENING THE BELT. I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO GET IT TO COME LOOSE, NOR HAVE I HAD THE TIME TO GO TO THE DEALER. *NM
