WHILE DRIVING ON I-70 IN MISSOURI DURING A RAIN STORM, I WAS THE PASSENGER IN THE 2000 F-150 THAT I OWN WHEN WE HYDROPLANED. WHILE SPINNING THROUGH THE MEDIAN IN A COUNTER CLOCKWISE MANNER, MY PASSENGER DOOR POPPED OPEN. IT WAS ONLY BY THE GRACE OF GOD, I WASN'T KILLED, AS I HUNG OUT THE DOOR ONLY HELD IN BY MY SEATBELT. AS THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO SPIN AROUND, THE DOOR SLAMMED SHUT. WE COULD NOT UNDERSTAND WHY THAT DOOR WOULD FLY OPEN. THE FORCE OF THE SUDDEN OPENING DAMAGED THE HINGE, DOOR, AND FRONT FENDER. UPON RETURNING HOME TO PENNSYLVANIA, I DID SOME RESEARCH AND DISCOVERED OTHERS HAD SIMILAR PROBLEMS. I CONTACTED FORD AND THEY REFUSED TO ACCEPT ANY RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE DOOR COMING OPEN..."AFTER RESEARCHING YOUR COMPLAINT, WE HAVE NOTHING INDICATING ANY KNOWN PROBLEMS THAT COULD CAUSE THAT TO HAPPEN". I AM NOW ALMOST AFRAID TO DRIVE MY TRUCK. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE FORCE FORD TO RECALL THESE VEHICLES TO PREVENT OTHERS FROM BEING HURT OR KILLED BY FAILURES LIKE THIS.
WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH VIBRATION CAME FROM THE FRONT END. DEALERSHIP WAS NOTIFIED, BUT DID NOT RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. *AK
I RECENTLY PURCHASED A 2004 FORD F150 SUPERCAB PICKUP TRUCK, AS I LEFT THE DEALERSHIP AND STARTED HOME I NOTICED THAT THE BED WAS SHAKING TERRIBLY BETWEEN 55 AND 62 MPH. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP BEFORE I WAS THREE MILES AWAY AND THEY TOLD ME TO BRING IT BACK THE NEXT DAY, I DID. THEY SAID THAT IT WAS FIXED, IT WASN'T. I LEFT AGAIN (THE DAY AFTER I PURCHASED) AND IMMEDIATELY CALLED THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT JACKY JONES FORD IN SWEETWATER, TN., AND TOLD THEM THE PROBLEM WAS JUST AS BAD. THE SERVICE CLERK (JASON) TOLD ME THAT THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THIS MODEL TRUCK AND THAT FORD WAS IN THE PROCESS OF FIXING IT. THAT WAS A MONTH AGO. NOW I HAVE LEARNED THAT THERE ARE HUNDREDS, MAYBE THOUSANDS OF FORD F150'S WITH THIS PROBLEM AND THEY ARE NOT BEING FIXED. I CANNOT GET THE DEALER TO RESCHEDULE A TIME TO REPAIR MY TRUCK.*AK
VIBRATIONS THROUGHOUT THE CHASSIS AT SPEEDS BETWEEN 50-60 MPH. VEHICLE IS AT DEALERSHIP FOR 3RD TIME FOR SAME PROBLEM. SO FAR JUST ROAD FORCE BALANCE OF TIRES, AND BOTH FRONT TIRES REPLACED. PROBLEM FIRST NOTICED WITH LESS THAN 700 MILES ON VEHICLE, THE DAY AFTER DELIVERY OF VEHICLE.UI*AK
WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE VEHICLE VIBRATED HEAVILY. THE CAUSE WAS NOT DETERMINED. PLEASE PROVIDE MORE INFORMATION. *JB

STEERING WHEEL VIBRATES AT SPEED RANGE 60-75 MPH. SO FAR ALL ATTEMPTS AT REPAIR BY FORD DEALERSHIP HAVE FAILED. LAST ATTEMPT WAS TO ROAD FORCE BALANCE TIRES. TRUCK HAS APPROXIMATELY 8000 MILES
WINDOW REGULATOR OF MY 2004 F-150 PICKUP FAILED AND WINDOW DROPPED DOWN INTO DOOR WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. THIS IS THE FOURTH REQULATOR TO FAIL SINCE THE TRUCK WAS NEW. I REPLACED THE OTHERS BY BUYING REGULATORS FROM A SALVAGE YARD. FORD SHOULD REPLACE THESE DEFECTIVE PARTS. *TR
I PURCHASED A FORD F150 NEW IN JANUARY OF 2004. AT APPROX 4000 MILES THE VEHICLE DEVELOPED A LOUD WHINE IN THE REAR AXLE.DIFFERENTIAL. THE DEALER REPLACED THE GEARS IN THE DIFFERENTIAL AND THE WHINE DISAPPEARED. SHORTLY AFTER, THE VEHICLE DEVELOPED A VIBRATION THAT OCCURRED AT AROUND 45-55 MPH, WORSE AT JUST OVER 50. THE DEALER REPLACED THE ENTIRE REAR AXLE ASSEMBLY BUT THE PROBLEM PERSISTS. I WAS TOLD BY THE SERVICE MANAGER THAT THIS IS A PROBLEM WITH ALL THESE TRUCKS AND THERE IS NO FIX. I AM VERY DISSATISFIED WITH THIS TRUCK.*AK

FRONT BRAKES PULSATE. SEVERE PULSATION WHEN APPLYING BRAKES AT FREEWAY SPEEDS. FRONT END SHAKES VIOLENTLY. FIRST REPAIR (ROTOR REPLACEMENT) AT 10578 MILES. SECOND REPAIR (ROTOR REPLACEMENT) AT 16141 MILES. THIRD REPAIR (MACHINE ROTORS) 21260 MILES. *NM
I PURCHASED THE TRUCK LESS THAN 30 DAYS AGO. VIBRATION IN THE DRIVE TRAIN STARTED WITHIN THE FIRST 1000 MILES. DEALER SAYS THAT THE VIBRATION IS "NORMAL" OPERATION FOR THE VEHICLE. VIBRATION COULD REPRESENT A SAFETY ISSUE IF NOT CORRECTED. *NM
AFTER SHIFTING TO REVERSE, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED AT A HIGH RATE HITTING A HOUSE. THE CONSUMER HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED. *JB THE CONSUMER STATED THAT THERE FOUR SETS OF SKID MARKS ON THE PAVEMENT. TWO SKID MARKS FROM THE REAR WHEELS SPINNING AND TWO FROM THE FRONT WHEELS AS A RESULT OF THEM DRAGGING FROM THE APPLIED BRAKES. THE CONSUMER REQUEST INFORMATION BE DOCUMENTED ON THE INTERNET DUE TO NO COMPUTER. THE CONSUMER STATED THAT HIS WIFE WAS FORCED BACKWARDS AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED HITTING A BRICK WALL, JUMPING THE WALL AND INTO THE NEIGHBORS HOUSE. THE CONSUMER STATED THAT THE WHEELS WHERE STILL SPINNING AFTER THE ACCIDENT AND DUG A HOLE ABOUT 8 INCHES DEEP INTO THE FLOWER BED. *TC
2004 F150 WITH THE 4.6 LITER V8 ENGINE AND LIMITED SLIP DIFFERENTIAL. WHEN THE TRUCK IS RUNNING @ 2100 RPM AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS SOMETHING IN THE REAR END MAKES A STRANGE "WARBLING" TYPE OF HIGH PITCHED NOISE. IT ONLY DOES IT @ 2100 RPM. LOCAL DEALER TRIED TO TELL ME IT WAS EXZHAUST RESONANCE. THEY REPLACED MY EXHAUST SYSTEM AND THE PROBLEM PERSISTS. THEY ARE INVESTIGATING TO DETERMINE TRUE CAUSE.*AK
WHEEL VIBRATION IN STEERING WHEEL AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. PROBLEM STILL PERSIST EVEN AFTER FORD MOTOR COMPANY HAS INSTALLED A DAMPENING KIT VIA DRILLING THROUGH THE FRAME TO SECURE BOLTS.*AK
A LIGHT APPEARED ON THE DASHBOARD AND REMAINED ON. WHILE APPLYING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL VEHICLE WOULD NOT MOVE. CONSUMER PULLED OVER BEFORE THE VEHICLE STOPPED. CONSUMER TURNED OFF THE VEHICLE FOR A FEW MINUTES THEN RESTARTED IT. TOOK VEHICLE FOR INSPECTION, AND MECHANIC DETERMINED THAT THE THROTTLE HOUSING SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. *AK THE CONSUMER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE RUNS THEN STOPS AFTER TRAVELING AT ANY SPEED. *TC
HOOD APPEARS TO BE LOOSE ENOUGH TO FLY OFF VEHICLE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. WEAK HINGES. STEERING WHEEL VIBRATION/NIBBLE AT ANY SPEED. *JB
I HAVE OWNED MY 2004 F-150 SUPERCAB 4X4 LARIAT FOR APPROXIMATELY 5 WEEKS. THE VEHICLE HAD A VERY BAD SHAKE IN THE REAR END AT APPROXIMATELY 59 MILES AN HOUR. DEALER INSTALLED A "DAMPNER", WHICH WAS SUPPOSED TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. INSTALLATION OF THE DAMPNER ONLY RELOCATED THE VIBRATION TO 54-55 MILES AN HOUR. AT TIMES, THE VIBRATION IS SO BAD, I MUST SLOW DOWN OR SPEED UP SO I CAN SEE OUT OF THE REAR VIEW MIRROR. THE DEALERSHIP AND THE FORD REGIONAL SERVICE TECHNICIAN HAVE TOLD ME THAT THE NEW MODEL OF F-150 HAS A MUCH STIFFER FRAME AND THAT IS THE CAUSE OF THE VIBRATION. THEY GO ON TO SAY THAT THIS RIDE VIBRATION IS NORMAL THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE LINE OF THE F-150S. WHEN IT RAINS AND THE VEHICLE IS HOPPING UP AND DOWN IN THE REAR, I AM HONESTLY AFRAID THAT IF I HYDROPLANE THE LEAST AMOUNT, I WILL LOSE CONTROL OF THE TRUCK AND HAVE AN ACCIDENT. I HAVE ASKED REPEATEDLY FOR THIS PROBLEM TO BE RESOLVED, BUT THEY SAY THEY HAVE DONE ALL THEY CAN AND THAT THIS IS THE NORMAL RIDE OG THE VEHICLE. I JUST DON'T BELIEVE IT.*AK
I HAVE TWO MAIN PROBLEMS WITH MY FORD F150, MY VEHICLE HAS A VIBRATION WHICH IS AT ITS WORSE BETWEEN 40 TO 60, WHICH IS GETTING WORSE, CONSTANT AT AROUND 50MPH, AND TO A LESSER EXTENT THROUGHOUT THE 0 TO 40 MPH AND A STRONG VIBRATION IS SOMETIMES FELT ON DECELERATION, JUST BEFORE STOPPING, I ALSO HEAR A LOUD BOOMING WHICH COINCIDES WITH THE VIBRATION SPEEDS AND I THINK THAT THIS VIBRATION IS SETTING UP A RESONANCE OR REVERBERATION IN THE VEHICLE AND WITH THE WINDOWS IN OPEN POSITIONS, ON THE SECOND DAY I NOTICED SCRATCHES AND INDENTATIONS ON ROOF, APPROX 5 OF THEM RUNNING ON A DIAGONAL, CALLED AND LEFT MESSAGE WITH SALESMAN, NO RESPONSE, THURSDAY 9/23/04 HAD SALES MANAGER AND BODY SHOP MANAGER LOOK AT DENTS, TRUCK WAS TAKEN BACK AND BUFFED OUT, SCRATCHES AND DENTS STILL VISIBLE. APPOINTMENT WAS MADE FOR A SPECIALIST TO TRY TO MASSAGE DENTS OUT, BUT IN CASE RESULTS WERENT SATISFACTORY, THEN BODY FILLER COULD BE APPLIED AND PAINTED, TOLD THEM REPEATEDLY I DONT WANT BODY FILLER ON MY NEW TRUCK.I ALSO MADE A COMPLAINT ABOUT A VIBRATION BETWEEN 40 TO 60 MPH, AND THAT I BELIEVED THAT THIS WAS SETTING UP A RESONANCE OR REVERBERATION AND CAUSING BOOMING SOUND IN TRUCK, SERVICE MANAGER TOOK RIDE IN VEHICLE AND SAID IT WAS WIND BUFFETING, SAID HE WOULD CHECK WITH FORD ENGINEERS AND SEND ME A TRANSCRIPT OF FINDINGS, NEVER DID. SAT 9/25 I CALLED FORDS COMPLAINT NUMBER THAT IS LISTED IN THE MANUAL, EXPLAINED THAT THE TRUCK WAS DELIVERED DAMAGED AND REQUESTED A REPLACEMENT TRUCK, ALSO EXPLAINED THAT I FELT PRESSURED TO ACCEPT BODY FILLER AND VIBRATIONS IN MY NEW TRUCK, WAS TOLD THAT A TRANSCRIPT OF THE CONVERSATION WOULD BE SENT TO THE COMPLAINT MANAGER, HE WOULD RECEIVE THE TRANSCRIPT ON MONDAY, 10AM THURSDAY 9/30/04, I EXPECTED A CALL REGARDING THIS TRANSCRIPT, AFTER RECEIVING NONE, I CALLED THE COMPLAINT MANAGER AND I WAS ASKED IF IT WAS ALRIGHT FOR THEM TO CALL ME BACK, I SAID THAT WOULD BE FINE, 5:30PM SAT 10/02/04, HAVE NOT RECIEVED A CALL BACK, DESPITE REQUEST MADE.*AK
WHILE DRIVING MY 2004 FORD F-150 CREW CAB WITH THE TAILGATE DOWN @ 10MPH I WENT OVER A SMALL SPEED BUMP. THE TAILGATE SEPERATED FROM THE TRUCK. WHEN I WENT TO FORD DEALER THEY SAID, "YEAH, IT SHOULDN'T COME OFF THAT EASY" BUT THEY REFUSE TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER SAID TO HOLD ON BECAUSE HE FELT HE WOULD SEE ALOT OF THIS. THE GATE IS SPRING LOADED MAKING IT "BOUNCE" WHEN IT IS DOWN. *AK
HAVE A 2004 FX4 SUPERCREW 4X4. HAVE TWO PROBLEMS. FIRST, THE SPEEDO READS 4 TO 5 MPH FAST, HAVE HAD IN SHOP TWICE STILL NO FIX, WAS TOLD THAT WAS THE BEST THEY COULD DO. SECOND, WHEN TAKING OFF FROM DEAD STOP REAR END MAKES 2 SLIPPING CLUNKS, WAS TOLD FROM DEALER IT IS THE LEAF SPRINGS SO THEY GREASED THEM. PROBLEM WENT AWAY FOR A DAY MAYBE AND IS BACK LOUDER THEN EVER. ONLY 5000 MILES ON TRUCK. WISH FORD WOULD STEP UP TO THE PLATE AND TAKE CARE OF SOME OF THESE "KNOWN" PROBLEMS. *JB
2004 F 150 FORD PICKUP TRUCK. HAVE APPLIED BRAKES TO STOP AND FOOT ALSO HITS ACCELERATOR AT SAME TIME. PROBLEM HAS NEVER OCCURRED WITH PREVIOUS FORD OR CHRYSLER PRODUCTS.*AK
THE COMPUTER PROCESSOR WILL NOT RETAIN ANY INFORMATION, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO SHUTDOWN COMPLETELY. THE CONSUMER TOOK VEHICLE TO THE DEALER, AND IT REMAINED THERE FOR 21 DAYS WHILE THIS PROBLEM WAS BEING REPAIRED. THE REPAIRS WERE DONE AND THE CONSUMER RECEIVED THE VEHICLE BACK, BUT THE PROBLEM RECURRED. *AK THE VEHICLE BROKE DOWN WHILE IN MOTION. AFTER THE SECOND TIME THE FUEL PUMP WAS REPLACED IT BROKE DOWN AGAIN. *SC
WHILE DRIVING 40-50 MPH VEHICLE VIBRATED HEAVILY. DEALERSHIP WAS NOTIFIED, BUT DID NOT RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. *AK
2004 FORD F-150 HAS HAD A SEVERE VIBRATION IN THE STEERING WHEEL, GAS AND BRAKE PEDAL, FLOORBOARD, SEAT, ETC. AT ALL SPEEDS AND WORSE AFTER DRIVING FOR 20-30 MILES, THAT CAUSES ARMS AND LEGS TO TINGLE AND RIGHT LEG TO GO NUMB RESULTING IN HAVING TO USE LEFT FOOT TO BRAKE SINCE WEEK THREE OF OWNERSHIP. THIS VIBRATION IS ALSO CAUSING SEVERE BACK PAIN. THIS TRUCK ALSO HAS HAD A CLUNKING AND SQUEALING IN THE REAR END. THIS ISSUE IS HAPPENING IN THE MAJORITY OF 04 AND 05 F-150'S AND FORD DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO FIX IT. DSB HAS SAID THAT SINCE THERE IS A LIABILITY ISSUE, THEY CANNOT MAKE A RULING. SO, I AM STUCK WITH A $30,000 VEHICLE THAT I CANNOT PHYSICALLY STAND TO DRIVE!!! FORD NEEDS TO COME UP WITH A FIX OR RECALL THEM ALL!!! NOTE: HAVE HAD DAMPER INSTALLED, DRIVE SHAFT INDEXED TWICE AND CLUTCHES IN THE REAR END REPLACED TWICE. THE REAR END IS ALSO CLUNKING AND WHINING. *JB
CONTINUOUS VIBRATIONS IN 2004 F150 AFTER FIVE TIMES TO DEALER FOR REPAIRS. DRIVE SHAFT HAS BEEN REPLACED BUT STILL HAVE VIBRATIONS. ACCORDING TO RADAR AND GPS THE SPEEDOMETER IS INCORRECT UP TO 3 MILES PER HOUR CLOCKING EXAMPLE. OPERATING AT 55 MPH SPEEDOMETER SHOWING 58 TO 58 1/2 MPH.
I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE AUG. 31,2004. AT APPROXIMATELY 700 MILES THE VEHICLE WAS RETURNED TO THE DEALER FOR VIBRATION IN THE STEERING WHEEL AND TIRES. AFTER MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS TO REPAIR THE PROBLEM NO SOLUTION HAS BEEN FOUND. I HAVE BEEN INFORMED BY THE DEALER THAT FORD IS AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM AND IS WORKING ON IT BUT AT THIS THE VEHICLE CAN NOT BE REPAIRED. THE ENGINE HAS A ROUGH IDLE WHEN HOT, OR SITTING AT A STOP LIGHT, THIS ROUGHNESS TRANSFERS TO THE TRANSMISSION WHEN DRIVING. THE DEALER STATES FORD WILL NOT ALLOW REPAIRS TO BE MADE FOR THIS PROBLEM AT THIS TIME. I AM VERY DISSATISFIED WITH THIS PRODUCT AND THE MANUFACTURERS RESPONSE.*AK
1) BRAKE SYSTEM MALFUNCTION. IT WAS SERVICED BY FRIENDLY FORD BUT THE PROBLEM STILL EXIST, EXTREME SEVERE VIBRATION THAT IT SHAKES THE WHOLE TRUCK WHEN YOU STEP ON THE BRAKE PEDAL. BRAKE FAILED TO SLOW DOWN THE SAID VEHICLE AT 65 MPH GOING DOWNHILL. THE CONDITION IS WORSE THAN BEFORE IT WAS SERVICED. I BEG NHTSA TO ADDRESS THE PROBLEM TO FORD MOTOR COMPANY BEFORE A FATAL ACCIDENT COULD OCCUR. 2) ENGINE OR COMPUTER ELECTRICAL PROBLEM? ENGINE LOSSES POWER AND DROPS TO FAIL SAFE MODE. TOTALLY GUTLESS WHILE COMING IN TO FREEWAY FROM AN OFFRAMP OR DURING CROSSING AN INTERSECTION. AFTER HOURS OF DRIVING IT COMES BACK TO NORMAL. I TRIED DIFFERENT GRADES OF FUELS OCTANE IT DIDN'T MAKE ANY DIFFFERENCE IT DID MALFUNCTION IN SIMILAR WAY. VERY SCARY AND DAGEROUS EXPERIENCE. 3) DRIVER'S SIDE POWER WINDOW AND REAR WINSHIELD POWER WINDOW MALFUNCTIONS. EXTREME WATER INTRUSION DURING RAIN AND CAR WASH TIME. IT HAS HARSH MECHANICAL NOISE INSIDE THE DOOR.
VIBRATION IN VEHICLE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. *AK
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH ON NORMAL ROAD CONDITIONS, THE VEHICLE VIBRATED EXCESSIVELY WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE FAILURE OCCURRED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR INSPECTION AND THEY REPLACED BOTH FRONT ROTORS UNDER THE WARRANTY. ON THREE SEPARATE OCCASIONS, THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR THE IDENTICAL FAILURES. THE FRONT BRAKE PADS AND ROTORS WERE REPLACED AT THE CONTACT'S EXPENSE. THE MANUFACTURER HAS BEEN NOTIFIED OF THE MALFUNCTIONS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 32,000.
PERSISTANT DRIVELINE VIBRATION, MUCH MORE PREVALENT WHEN TOWING. UNDER HEAVY LOAD THE VIBRATION IS SO SUBSTANTIAL THAT VEHICLE CANNOT BE USED. *AK

SPEED DOES NOT SEEM TO BE A FACTOR AS IT HAS OCCURED WHEN DRIVING 30MPH, AS WELL AS HIGHWAY SPEEDS. THE "VIOLENT VIBRATION" CAN LAST ANYWHERE FROM 10 SECONDS TO 15 MINUTES." VIBRATION WILL THEN SUDDENLY STOP. BROUGHT THE TRUCK IN FOR SERVICE, REPAIR TECHNICIAN COULD NOT RECREATE PROBLEM. WHEN THE TRUCK WAS HOOKED UP TO THE COMPUTER NO ERRORS APPEARED. WAS TOLD "SORRY NOTHING WE CAN DO, BECAUSE THE PROBLEM DID NOT APPEAR WHEN IN FOR SERVICE." WAS TOLD THE NEXT TIME THE PROBLEM HAPPENS DRIVE RIGHT INTO THE SERVICE DEPT. PROBLEM IS I AM NEVER ANYWHERE NEAR THE DEALER, OR THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT IS CLOSED WHENEVER THIS PROBLEM HAPPENS. I AM VERY UNHAPPY, ANNOYED AND FRUSTRATED.*AK

DISC BRAKE DEFECT- I OWN A 2004 F-150 SUPERCREW. TWO OF MY FRIENDS OWN ONE EACH AS WELL. THE DISKS ARE TOO SMALL FOR THE WEIGHT OF THE VEHICLE. MINE HAVE ALREADY WARPED TWICE. THEY FINALLY STOPPED TURNING THEM WHICH ONLY MAKES THE WARPING FASTER, AND PUT A NEW SET ON. THE ONLY PROBLEM IS THAT TEHY WILL DO THE SAME THING. MY FRIENDS ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM AND FORD ACKNOWLEGES THE PROBLEM ALTHOUGH I DON'T SEE IT AS A RECELL ITEM. I DONT KNOW WHAT FORD WILL DO ONCE THESE TRUCKS ARE OUT OF WARRANTY. I BELIEVE THAT MOST PEOPLE WILL DRIVE ON THE WARPED BRAKES MAKING THEM BRAKE DIFFERENTLY IN BAD CONDITIONS. I BELIEVE THAT BRAKES ARE A MAJOR COMPONANT OF ANY MOVING VEHICLE AND THAT IN NEARLY ALL DANGEROUS SITUATIONS IN A VEHICLE BRAKES ARE APPLIED AND DEPENDED UPON. 3. I TALKED PLANET FORD IN TO REPLACING THE ROTORS. THEY WANTED TO TURN THEM A SECOND TIME. ACCORDING TO POSTS ON DIFFERENT WEB SITES, THE WARPING IN THE FRONT ROTORS AND THE GROVING IN THE REAR ROTORS HAS BECOME A MAJOR ISSUE. *AK

REBUILT THE REAR-END REPLACING 9 DIFFERENT COMPONENTS. *BF THE CONSUMER STATED WHILE DRIVING, HE HEARD A LOUD NOISE EMANATING FRONT THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. I HAVE A FORD F-150 EXTENDED CAB WITH APPROXIMATELY 3000 MILES. THE BRAKES HAVE BEEN SQUEAKING FOR SEVERAL WEEKS NOW. I TOOK IT TO MY DEALER AND WAS TOLD THAT FORD INSTALLS BRAKES THAT DON'T MEET UP RIGHT WITH THE ROTERS WHICH CAUSES THE SQUEAKING. I WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS NOTHING MY DEALER COULD DO AND THAT I SHOULD BUY A DIFFERENT BRAND OF BRAKE PADS TO PUT ON THE VEHICLE. I WAS TOLD THESE NEW PADS WOULD RUN APPROX $50.00. I CALLED FORD AND WAS INFORMED THEY WOULDN'T DO ANYTHING TO RECTIFY THE PROBLEM EITHER. AFTER THE REPAIR WE NOTICE A WHINING SOUND COMING FROM THE REAR END WAS TOLD TO BRING THE TRUCK BACK, DROPED THE TRUCK OFF ON SEPT 30,2004 AND TO PICK IT BACK UP ON OCT 2, WAS TOLD BY SERVICE REP NO WORK WAS DONE. CALLER SERVICE REP THE FLOWING MONDAY AND WAS TOLD FORD WOULD NOT PAY FOR THE FIX BECAUSE ENGINEERING IS CURRENTLY INVESTIGATION THIS CONDITION AND FOR US TO CALL EVERY MONTH. CALLED FORD MANY TIMES FINELY WAS TOLD TO TAKE OUR TRUCK TO LINCOLN MERCURY GARAGE IN FAIRFIELD, OHIO HAD A PERSON THAT WOULD REBUILD THE REAR AXLE WITH 4205A DIFFERENTIAL CARRIER. ASSEMBLE, FORD DID TAKE CARE OF THIS. AFTER LEAVING THE GARAGE NOTICE A WHINE IN THE REAR TURN AROUND WENT BACK TO THE GARAGE AND WAS TOLD THEY MAY HAVE THE PARTS TO TIGHT AND WILL NEED TO LOOSEN THEN UP. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR THE LAST 15 YEARS WITH STILL NO FIX WE HAVE NOW 95800 MILES AND WITH ANOTHER FIX FOR $3000.00
I HAVE A 2004 F150 AND AM HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM AS MOST OTHERS HERE. I HAVE A BAD VIBRATION THAT WAS STARTING AT 42 MPH AND IS NOW HAPPENING AT ALL SPEEDS ALL THE TIME. THE DEALER HAS REBALANCED THE TIRES, PUT ON A VIBRATION DAMPER AND ALSO HAS REPLACED ALL 4 TIRES AND WHEELS AS A SET ALL TO NO AVAIL. THE DEALER I BOUGHT THE TRUCK FROM HAS BEEN GOING OUT OF THEIR WAY TO TRY TO HELP ME, BUT LIKE ME THEY ARE GETTING VERY FRUSTRATED AS FORD IS NOT DOING MUCH IF ANYTHING TO TRY TO FIX IT.
