2004 F-150 SUPER CREW 4X4. VIBRATION IN VEHICLE. STEERING WHEEL SHACKES. DEALER STATES THAT TSB IS AWARE- MANUFACTURER. IS WORKING ON IT. HAVE SEEN INFORMATION ABOUT THIS EXACT PROBLEM IN MANY IDENTICAL TRUCKS. WHAT IS FORD GOING TO DO? WHAT CAN I DO? HELP.*AK
I BOUGHT A 2004 F150 STX 4X4 IN LATE FEBRUARY OF 2004. THE TRUCK HAS A 4.6 LITER V-8, AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION AND A 3.73 LIMITED SLIP REAREND. SINCE I HAVE HAD THE TRUCK THE REAREND HAS DEVELOPED A LOUD WHINING SOUND AND SLUNG THE REAREND LUBE OUT AND UNDER THE BED. IT WAS REPLACED AND HAVE HAD NOT FURTHER TROUBLE IN THAT AREA. THE TRUCK THEN DEVELOPED A STALL LIKE IT WAS LOW AND GAS AND BLEW BLACK SMOKE ON COLD STARTS AND TAKE-OFFS. THAT PROBLEM STILL HASNT BEEN SOLVED AFTER 3 ATTEMPTS W/ MY DEALERSHIP TO GET IT FIXED. THE WINDSHEILD ALSO DEVELOPED A LARGE CRACK IN IT, IT WAS REPLACED. THE DEALERSHIP SAID THAT IT WAS STRESS RELATED. CURRENTLY THE TRUCK IS AT MY DEALERSHIP UNMOVEABLE BECAUSE THE TRANSMISSION JUST RECENTLY WENT OUT. THE DEALERSHIP REFUSED TO FIX MY TRUCK BECAUSE THEY "CLAIM" IT HAS WATER IN IT. THE TRUCK HAS NEVER BEEN EXPOSED TO WATER OTHER THAN WHAT RAIN GATHERED ON THE ROAD. MY DAD WENT TO INSPECT THE SITUATION AND THEY ONLY SHOWED HIM WATER IN A CUP HE DIDNT SEE AND DRAINED FROM THE TRANSMISSION.*AK
FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE STARTED SHOOK UNCONTROLLABLY. CONSUMER WAS ABLE TO MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE, AND DROVE IT TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. MECHANIC COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. *AK
HAD HORRIBLE VIBRATION AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS,AFTER 6 OR SO VISITS THEY REPLACED THE DRIVESHAFT. NOW AT IDLE WARM OR COLD I HAVE A CONSTANT SHUTTER,AND NOW A STEERING WHEEL NIBBLE HAS DEVELOPED. COMPLETELY DISSAPPOINTED IN THIS TRUCK.THIS WAS MY FIRST NEW VEHICLE,A SHAME IT TURNED OUT LIKE THIS!*AK
DRIVING DOWN STATE ROUTE 33.. DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW SUDDENLY FALLS DOWN INTO THE DOOR. 35 DEG OUTSIDE. RESEARCH INTO THE PROBLEM REVEALS IT IS VERY COMMON, AND THAT MORE THAN LIKELY, ILL BE REPLACING ALL OF THE REGULATORS IN DUE TIME. *TR
I AM GOING TO GIVE YOU A VIEW OF WHAT HAS HAPPENED WITH THIS TRUCK IN THE 2 MONTHS THAT I HAVE OWNED THIS NEW TRUCK. THE DAY AFTER I BOUGHT THE TRUCK I TOOK IT BACK FOR A VIBRATION IN THE BREAKS AND A VIBRATION IN THE WHEELS AT 30 AND 75 WELL AS I AM SURE ALL OF YOU KNOW THE VIBRATION IN THE WHEELS AT THOSE SPEEDS WAS THE TIRES ARE OUT OF ROUND AND WELL THE BREAKS WELL WE ARE STILL ON THAT ONE I ALSO HAD A VIBRATION IN THE REAR END. WELL THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY HAD TO GET NEW TIRES AND THAT THE REAR END WAS BAD. SO NOW THAT THEY HAVE REPLACED THE REAR END AND REPLACED THE TIRES AND REBUILT THE BREAK SYSTEM THAT STILL DOES NOT WORK, AND NOW THE WINDOW FALLS OFF TRACK AND I SMELL SOMETHING BURNING IN THE TRUCK LIKE PLASTIC ALSO LET ME ADD THAT THE KEYPAD DOES NOT WORK. NOW REMEMBER THAT THIS TRUCK IN TWO (2) MONTHS OLD I BOUGHT IT ON AUGUST 23 2004 AND IT IS NOW NOVEMBER 9, 2004. SO WHAT DO YOU THINK THAT I SHOULD DO??? I DO APPRECIATE ALL THE INPUT .*AK
MY MOTHER AND SISTER WERE DRIVING THE TRUCK WHEN THEY HEARD A VERY LOUD NOISE AND THEN THE DRIVER SIDE WINDOW FELL ALL THE WAY DOWN. THEY WERE UNABLE TO LIFT THE WINDOW BACK UP. THIS WAS THE FIRST INCIDENT. THE SECOND INCIDENT HAPPEN WHEN I WOKE UP LAST WEEK ON NOVEMBER 9, 2008, WENT OUT SIDE MY HOME AND NOTICED THAT THE PASSENGER FRONT WINDOW WAS DOWN. I TRIED TO RAISE UP BUT IT WOULD NOT MOVE, IT APPEARED THAT THE SAME THING HAD HAPPEN TO THIS WINDOW AS THE ONE ON THE DRIVER SIDE. I TOOK THE TRUCK TO MY MECHANIC TO TAKE A LOOK AT IT AND SURE ENOUGH THE SAME THING HAD HAPPEN TO THIS WINDOW AS THE DRIVER SIDE WINDOW; THE REGULATOR ASSEMBLY HAD FAIL WHICH MADE THE WINDOW FALL DOWN. IN BOTH INSTANCES I HAD TO REPLACE BOTH PARTS; I HAVE SO FAR PAID ABOUT FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS TO FIX THIS DEFECT. I SEARCHED THE INTERNET AND NOTICED THAT I AM NOT THE ONLY PERSON THAT HAS HAD THIS PROBLEM. *TR
VEHICLE'S SUSPENSION SHOOK AND VEHICLE VIBRATED WHILE BEING DRIVEN. TAKEN IN FOR REPAIR, BUT NO PROBLEM IS FOUND. *NM
WHEN THE SPEED CONTROL IS ENGAGED IT WORKS FINE ON LEVEL OR CLIMBING HIGHWAY, BUT ON THE DOWNHILL SIDE, THE SPEED CONTROL DOES NOT HOLD THE VEHICLE TO THE SPEED SET. THE VEHICLE SPEED KEEPS INCREASING DEPENDING ON LONG THE DOWNHILL SECTION IS AND THE BRAKES MUST BE APPLIED TO SLOW THE VEHICLE DOWN. IT WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP AT THE TIME IT WAS DISCOVERED AND I WAS TOLD THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH IT AND THAT I HAD TO TAKE IT OUT OF OVERDRIVE FOR THE SPEED CONTROL TO WORK PROPERLY. HOWEVER, I TRIED THIS AND THE SPEED CONTROL DID THE SAME THING, INCREASED SPEED ON A DOWN GRADE. ON EVERY OTHER VEHICLE I HAVE EVER OWNED, THE SPEED CONTROL, WHEN ENGAGED, CONTROLLED THE DOWNHILL SPEED TO THE SPEED WHICH WAS SET. *TR
TRUCK CONTINUES TO STALL/ENGINE DIES WHEN DRIVING. USUALLY STOPS WHEN SLOWING DOWN OR STARTING FROM A STOP. COMMONLY DIES AT INTERSECTIONS/STOP SINGS ETC. HAS STOPED ON HIGHWAY WHEN SLOWING DOWN MAKING IT VERY DIFFICULT TO CONTROL.*AK
VEHICLE WAS GOING ABOUT 30 MPH WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN THE ENGINE CAUGHT ON FIRE. OWNER WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS GRASS IN THE ENGINE BY THE MANUFACTURER, BUT IT SEEMED TO BE A SIMILAR PROBLEM TO SHORT WITH THE VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL:CRUICE CONTROL. *AK
SERVICE 3X FOR BRAKE PEDAL GOING TO THE FLOOR OF THE VEHICLE AND CLOSE CALLS TO HITTING OTHER VEHICLES. AT FIRST WAS TOLD BY DEALER THIS IS NORMAL AND THEN THEY ACKNOWLEDGED BRAKE PROBLEMS AND REPLACED PARTS (MASTER CYLINDER AND HCU). CURRENTLY GOING THROUGH DISPUTE RESOLUTION BOARD ARBITRATION PROCESS.*AK
VEHICLE'S BACK WINDOW LEAK NOTED WITHIN 60 DAYS AFTER PURCHASE, RESEALED BY DEALER X2-STILL LEAKS. WITHIN A PERIOD OF ONE YEAR AFTER PURCHASE, THREE OF THE FOUR WINDOW GEAR BOXES WERE REPLACED DUE TO FAILURE. I'VE NOTED SEVERAL COMPLAINTS ABOUT THESE ISSUES, MET OTHER OWNERS WHO HAVE HAD THESE ISSUES FIXED UNDER WARRANTY, YET WE WERE REQUIRED TO PAY FOR REPAIR. AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, 65MPH, THE VEHICLE BEGINS TO SHIMMY, VIBRATE AND BECOMES DIFFICULT TO MAINTAIN CONTROL OF STEERING. VIBRATION MAKES RIDE UNPLEASANT AND NOISY. *TR
VEHICLE BUCKS AND SURGES AT LOW SPEEDS.*AK
WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED VEHICLE VIBRATED UNCONTROLLABLY. DRIVER WAS ABLE TO MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE, AND DROVE IT TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. HOWEVER, MECHANIC COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. *AK THE CONSUMER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE BUCKED AND BOUNCED FOR 7 MILES ON ASPHALT. DEALER CHECKED THE VEHICLE 5 TIMES AND THE PROBLEM WAS NOT FOUND. *TC
TRUCK HAS REAREND VIBRATION @55-60 MPH. TRUCK ALSO HAS STEERING WHEEL SHAKE AT HIGHWAY SPEED (ABOVE 45 MPH). FORD STATES THAT THEY NO THEY HAVE A PROBLEM AND ARE WORKING ON A FIX.*AK
I PURCHASED NEW FORD F150, THE FIRST TIME UP TO HIGHWAY SPEEDS THE VEHICLE HAD A VIBRATION BETWEEN THE SPEED OF 55 AND 65 MPH. *AK
2004 SCREW LARIAT - VIBRATION THROUGHOUT WHOLE VEHICLE AT SPEEDS BETWEEN 45-60MPH, ONLY IN O/D. I BELIEVE THIS IS RELATED TO THE CONTENTS OF TSB 04-25-07 AND TSB 04-25-08. *AK
CONSUMER STATED VEHICLE BURNED WHILE BEING PARKED. RECALL FOR CRUISE CONTROL FIRE WAS THE SAME THING THAT CAUSED THE FIRE. *AK
WHILE DRIVING 54 MPH THE TRUCK VIBRATED. THE VIBRATION WAS SO STRONG THAT THE RIGHT PASSENGER SEAT SHOOK. THE CONSUMER USED THE TRUCK TO PULL AN OPEN STOCK TRAILER. *NM THE PROBLEM WAS PERCEIVED AS THE UNIVERSAL JOINT WAS IN TOO STRAIGHT A LINE WITH THE TRANSMISSION. FORD LARIAT F150 2004 *SC
THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED WHEN IT BEGAN TO ROLL ACROSS A PARKING LOT. THE DRIVER MANAGED TO UNLOCK THE DOOR, JUMP INTO THE VEHICLE AND PUT THE BRAKE ON BEFORE IT ROLLED ONTO A MAIN STREET. *NM VEHICLE WAS ONLY 20 DAYS OLD AND WOULD NOT RESTART. THE CONSUMER HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP ONLY TO FIND FROM THE SERVICE MANAGER THAT THE CLIP TO BRACKET FROM THE FACTORY WAS MISSING. WHEN THE CONSUMER CALLED IN TO COMPLAIN SHE WAS TOLD BY A SALES REPRESENTATIVE THAT IT'S NOT THEIR FAULT THEY DID NOT BUILD THE TRUCK. NO LOANER CARS AVAILABLE. THE CONSUMERS NAME WAS NOT PUT INTO THE SYSTEM FOR ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE. *TC *JB
TRAVELING APPROXIMATELY 10-15 MPH SLOWING TO STOP AT LIGHT. STARTED TO APPLY BRAKES AND ENGINE REVVED UP. ENGINE WAS FIGHTING THE BRAKES. PRESSED BOTH FEET ON BRAKES AND STILL TRUCK DID NOT STOP. PRESSURE IN THE BRAKES, SO THERE WAS FLUID IN THE CYLINDER. HAD TO SWERVE AROUND ONE VEHICLE AND HAD TO PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK TO GET IT TO STOP. I CAME WITHIN INCHES OF HITTING ANOTHER VEHICLE. ONCE I GOT THE VEHICLE STOPPED IT WORKED JUST FINE, SO I DROVE IT TO THE DEALER. THE SAME THING HAD HAPPENED PREVIOUSLY, BUT THE DEALERSHIP LOOKED AT IT AND SAID NOTHING WAS WRONG. THIS TIME WHEN I TOOK IT IN, DESCRIBED THE PROBLEM AND TOLD THEM IT HAD BEEN IN ONCE BEFORE, THEY TOOK ME A LITTLE MORE SERIOUSLY. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED IN 3 MONTHS. THE TRUCK ONLY HAS APPROXIMATELY 8,000 MILES ON IT. THE DEALER HAS HAD MY TRUCK FOR TWO DAYS AND CAN NOT GET IT TO REPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THEY HAVE CONTACTED FORD AND SAID THEY WOULD LET ME KNOW WHAT THEY FIND OUT. *AK
I HAVE A 2004 F150 4X4 REG. CAB 4X4 PICK UP TRUCK. IT HAS GOODYEAR WRANGLER TIRES ON IT. LT275/65 18C WRANGLER AT/S. THEY KEEP CUPPING. I AM NOW ON MY 5TH SET OF TIRES. FORD WANTS TO AND DID AT ONE TIME PUT ON P275/65 18 ON THE TRUCK. I WAS AGAINST THIS DROPPING TO A P METRIC TIRE. THEY NOW REINSTALLED THE LIGHT TRUCK TIRES AGAIN AT MY REQUEST. FORD STATED THAT THEY KNOW THEY HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THESE TIRES. MY BIGGEST CONCERN IS THAT THEY ARE DROPPING TO A P METRIC FROM A LIGHT TRUCK. THE CUPPING IS ALSO A SAFETY CONCERN WITH NOT GETTING GOOD CONTACT WITH THE ROAD. I WILL GIVE YOU THE FIST DATE THIS HAPPENED. THE FIRST TIME I ONLY HAD 181 MILES ON MY TRUCK. *NM
COMPLAINT RECEIVED VIA E-MAIL. WHILE DRIVING DOWN A HILLS STATE ROAD APPLIED THE BRAKES AND THE CAR STARTED TO SHIMMER, AND THE STEERING WHEEL STARTED TO SHAKE VERY BADLY. I WAS SCARED TO DEATH. LUCKILY, WE MADE IT TO THE PARK IN ONE PIECE. I DROVE HOME AND CALLED THE DEALER. THE DEALERSHIP, UPON INSPECTION OF THE VEHICLE, INDICATED THAT THE 2 FRONT ROTORS WERE BADLY WARPED. THEY MACHINE THEM DOWN JUST SHY OF THE MINIMUM, AND DID NOT REPLACE THEM BECAUSE THE WARRANTY BOOK INDICATED REPLACEMENT ONLY IF IT WAS BEYOND THE MAXIMUM ALLOWED.*AK
THE VEHICLE WOULD SHIMMY/VIBRATE WHEN BRAKING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER HAD TO TURN BOTH FRONT ROTORS. THE CONSUMER HAS A CONCERN THAT THE ROTORS WERE WEARING PREMATURELY. *JB
TAILGATE CABLES DO NOT SUPPORT EVENLY, ONE CABLE APPEARS LONGER THAN THE OTHER BUT IT IS NOT. *BF *TC

WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE VEHICLE VIBRATED UNCONTROLLABLY. THE DRIVER WAS ABLE TO MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND DROVE IT TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THE MECHANIC INFORMED THE DRIVER THAT ALL FOUR TIMES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND REPLACED IT. HOWEVER, THE PROBLEM STILL OCCURS AT THIS TIME. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER DETAILS. *NM
WHILE DRIVING THE CONSUMER FELT VIBRATIONS COMING FROM THE FRONT AND REAR OF THE VEHICLE. *NM IN THE FIRST WEEK OF DRIVING THE VEHICLE THE CONSUMER DETECTED A VIBRATION IN THE FRONT AND REAR OF THE VEHICLE. ALL FOUR TIRES WORE OUT AROUND THE OUTER EDGES. THE CONSUMER PAID CASH FOR A NEW VEHICLE AND EXPECTED NEW TIRES. THE CONSUMER WAS REFUSED A NEW SET OF TIRES. *TC *JB

WHILE APPLYING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL VEHICLE HESITATED TO ACCELERATE. AFTER APPLYING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL NUMEROUS TIMES VEHICLE ACCELERATED. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION, BUT MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. *AK
10/19/04 PUCHASED A NEW FORD F150 SUPERCREW. I DISCUSSED A VIBRATION I FELT WHILE TEST DRIVING THE VEHICLE WITH THE SALES PERSON. HE SAID IT WAS FLAT SPOTS ON THE TIRES, AND THEY WOULD TAKE CARE OF IT AFTER THE PURCHASE. SCHEDULED TO TAKE IT IN THE SHOP 3 DAYS LATER FOR REPAIR. I WAS TOLD THAT THE VIBRATION IS A KNOW PROBLEM ON 2004 SOME 2004 F150 TRUCKS. I HAVE EVERYTHING DOCUMENTED IN DETAIL I CAN SEND. THIS SPACE LIMITS ME TO 2000 CHARACTERS. *AK
REPORTED TO DEALER SERVICE DEPT. THAT MY NEW 2004 FORD F150 FX4 TRUCK HAD WHINE AND CLUNKING NOISE COMING FROM REAR AXEL/DIFFERENTIAL ASSEMBLY AT TAKE OFF FROM STOP AND SPEEDS BETWEEN 45 AND 55 MPH. DEALER WAS INSTRUCTED BY FORD MOTOR COMPANY ENGINEERING DEPT. NOT TO ATTEMPT REPAIR. 1000 MILES LATER THE PROBLEM HAS GOT WORSE. *JB
I HAVE A 2004 FORD F150 THAT HAS HAD A TERRIBLE VIBRATION AND SHAKING PROBLEM TO THE POINT THAT THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS JUMP UP AND DOWN EVERYTIME I HAVE SAID ANYTHING TO THE DEALERSHIP THEY SAY THEY DONT WHAT IT IS AND THEY HAVEN'T HEARD OF ANYTHING LIKE THIS AND EVEN THE LAST TIME I TOLD THEM IT WAS LIKE SOMETHING WAS SEIZING UP WE WENT ONLINE AND STARTED INVESTIGATING THE PROBLEM AND FOUND THAT ALL KINDS OF PEOPLE ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM AND ALOT OF THEM SEEM TO THINK IT IS IN THE EMERGENCY BRAKE SYSTEM THERE IS TWO METAL PARTS THAT RUST TOGETHER AND WONT LET IT WORK IS THERE ANYTHING I CAN DO ABOUT THIS TO GET FORD TO REPLACE IT EVEN THOUGH IT IS 5 YRS OLD BECAUSE THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS LAST WINTER I WAS DRIVING IN SNOW AND THE BACK END SLID AROUND ON ME AND THIS WAS CAUSED BY THE BRAKE TRYING TO SEIZE UP. *TR

VEHICLE HAS A SHIMMY (VIBRATION) AT OR ABOVE 45 MPH, INCREASES WHEN LOADED AND FEELS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. *AK
WHEN USING THE HEAT IN MY 2004 F-150 SUPER CREW FX4 IT CONSTANTLY POURS OUT OF MY DASH. EVEN WHEN SET ON FLOOR OR DEFROST IT WILL POUR OUR OF THE DASH. AFTER A FEW MINUTES OF USING THE HEAT, THE RIDE BECOMES QUITE UNCOMFORTABLE. MY FACE GETS REAL HOT AND EYES GET BLOODSHOT FROM BEING DRIED OUT. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO FORD 5 TIMES AND THE FIRST TIME THEY COULD SEE/FEEL THE PROBLEM. NOW THAT THEY CANNOT FIX IT, THEY TELL ME THAT IT IS NORMAL OPERATION. WHICH IS ABSOLUTELY FALSE, ESPECIALLY WHEN I OWN 2 OF THE SAME TRUCKS AND ONE DOES IT AND ONE DOES NOT. *JB
TWICE THE ENGINE HAS GONE INTO "FAIL-SAFE" OR "LIMP" MODE; DIAGNOSED AS A "COMPUTER" GLITCH ON A BRAND NEW 2004, LESS THAN 700 MILES, FORD F150 PU; ONCE ENTERING THE HIGHWAY; ONCE ENTERING AN INTERSECTION. WHEN THIS HAPPENS, THERE IS ENOUGH POWER TO GET YOU OFF OF THE ROAD. STOPPING THE TRUCK, CUTTING IT OFF AND BACK ON ALLOWED FOR NORMAL USE. ALSO EXCESSIVE VIBRATION CHECKED 3 TIMES, WAS TOLD UNDER INVESTIGATION; NO FIX YET. 3 OUT OF 4 NEW TIRES WERE REPLACED DURING DIAGNOSTICS STATING THAT THEY HAD "FLAT" SPOTS ON THEM.*AK
IM SURE OF THE EXACT DATE ORIGINALLY BOUGHT MY TRUCK IN 2004 BRAND NEW WITH 60 MILES ON IT I HAD IT LESS THAN A WEEK AND THEY REPLACED THE TIRES AND TOLD ME IT WAS BECAUSE THEY WERE EGG SHAPED. AND THIS IS WHY IT SHOOK OR VIBRATED AT 55/70 MPH IT WENT AWAY FOR AWHILE. THEN I KEPT ROUTINE OIL AND TIRE ROTATIONS AND BALANCING ON IT BUT THE VIBRATION KEPT COMING BACK. THE REAR BRAKES WERE REPLACE ON THE TRUCK WITH LESS THAN 30,000 MILES COST ME A FORTUNE WHICH ARE SUPPOSED TO LAST UNTIL 150,000. THE SHOCKS, STRUTS, BRAKES, AND ROTORS AND BEARINGS WERE ALL REPLACES TWICE NOW FIRST FOR VIBRATION IN 2007/2008 SPENT THOUSANDS DIDN'T WORK REPLACED TIRES AND RIMS WENT AWAY FOR ABOUT SIX MONTH THEN CAME BACK AGAIN EVERY TIME WE ROTATE THE TIRES THE VIBRATION GOES AWAY FOR LIKE A DAY OR TWO THEN COMES BACK IN 2010 I HAD TO REPLACE THE REAR BRAKE AND EMERGENCY BRAKE AND BEARINGS AND SEALS FOR A SECOND TIME BECAUSE THEY LOCKED UP IN 2011 I HAVE REPLACED THE BRAKES, SHOCKS, ROTORS AND STRUTS, BECAUSE OF VIBRATION GUESS WHAT DIDN'T WORK NOW WERE LOOKING AT TIRES AND RIMS AGAIN AND FORD TELLS ME THAT MY REAR SEALS AND BEARINGS NEED REPLACED FOR LEAKAGE AND THE POSSIBLE SHAKING IS MY DRIVE SHAFT I BOUGHT A 30,000 TRUCK THAT I HAVE PUT 10,000 GRAND IN JUST ESTIMATING OH AND THEY JUST FIXED THE RECALL FOR THE AIRBAG HARNESS AND TELL ME THE AIRBAG LIGHT IS FLASHING BUT IT ISN'T COVERED IN THE RECALL AND IT WASN'T FLASHING WHEN I DROPPED IT OFF. DT: THE CONTACT STATED SHE HAD AN ONGOING FAILURE OF THE BRAKES. THE VEHICLE WAS SERVICED BY THE DEALERSHIP NINE TIMES. THE PADS AND ROTORS WERE REPLACED SIX TIMES. A MANUFACTURER'S ENGINEER INSPECTED THE VEHICLE. HE MADE SEVERAL SUGGESTIONS TO THE DEALERSHIP. THE DEALERSHIP IMPLEMENTED THESE SUGGESTIONS ALTHOUGH THE AFOREMENTIONED PROBLEMS RECURRED. ALSO, THE TRANSMISSION STARTED SLIPPING WHILE DRIVING. IT WAS INSPECTED BY THE DEALER, AND THEY WERE UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM. *AK

AFTER OWNING THIS VEHICLE FOR JUST UNDER 1 MONTH AND HAVING TO REPLACE SOMETHING THAT HAS HAD SO MANY COMPLAINTS ON, I FEEL YOU AS A WELL RESPECTED COMPANY NEEDS TO STEP UP TO THE PLATE AND ADMIT FAULTS. WHEN USING PASSING GEAR AT 45-65 MPH YOU GET A VERY STRONG VIBRATION UNTIL YOU GO INTO OVERDRIVE. WHEN YOU USE THE OD SHUT OFF BUTTON AT 65 - 50 MPH YOU GET THE SAME VIBRATION. (1) FORD SENT LETTER IN JANURARY FROM 1ST COMPLAINT IN OCT 04 SAYING IT WAS THE TIRES AND WOULD ONLY WARRANTY THEM FOR 3 YEAR NOT REPLACE THEM NOW. (2) MAY BOTH FRONT STEEL RIMS. NOW AT THIS POINT VIBRATION IS ONLY BETWEEN 50 - 65. (3) TRUCK WAS IN SHOP FROM 31 MAY TO 10 JUN 05. REPLACED (A INSULATOR ASY - ENGINE SUPPORT), (DRIVE SHAT ASSEMBY -REAR) REMOVED AND INSTALLED. (INSULATOR - POWERTRAIN REAR SUPPORT) REPLACED. I DO NOT HAVE OLD PARTS, DEALER KEPT THEM. VIBRATION IS STILL THERE. THE MECHANIC TOLD ME THAT THIS PROBLEM IS ONLY IN 373 REAR ENDS. MY BROTHER IN TX (SAN ANGELO, WAS HELPING ME, HIS BEST FRIEND IS THE SERVICE MGR AT THE FORD DEALER THERE AND THEY HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM). A FRIEND TOLD ME HER FATHER IN AL HAS THE SAME PROBLEM AND FORD CAN NOT FIX IT. MY SERVICE MGR BRYAN AND I DROVE A 2005 IDENTICILE TO MY TRUCK AND THE VIBRATION WAS WORSE THEN MINE. MY CONCERN IS WHAT IN THE LON TERM WILL IT HAVE ON US WHO WILL BE TOWING CAMPERS AND GOING UP AND DOWN MOUNTAING AND USING THE LOWER GEAR FOR POWER AND BRAKING. CAPTAIN CHAIRS ON LARIAT PICK-UP ARE UNACCEPTABLE. THE SEATS APPEAR TO HAVE A T SHAPED SUBSTRUCTURE, WHICH IS PRESSING UP INTO WHERE THE PASSENGERS' BUTTOCK REST. I CAN BEST DESCRIBE IT AS SITTING ON A HARD BICYCLE SEAT. DEALER AND FORD INDICATE THAT THIS IS NOT A DEFECT. IT IS A DESIGN ISSUE AND WILL NOT ACCEPT ACCOUNTABILITY. *NM
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 FORD F150. WHEN THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL, THE VEHICLE WOULD STALL. THE FAILURE ALSO OCCURRED WHEN TURNING THE VEHICLE AT LESS THAN 5 MPH. THE RPMS WOULD DROP TO ZERO BEFORE THE VEHICLE STALLED AND JERKED AS IF IT WERE ATTEMPTING TO PROCEED FORWARD. THE DEALER COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE FAILURES. THE CONTACT DISCOVERED THAT BY PLACING A HIGHER GRADE OF FUEL INTO THE VEHICLE, THE FAILURES WOULD TEMPORARILY CEASE FOR A FEW MONTHS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 17,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 103,000.

I WENT SHOPPING AND PARKED MY TRUCK. UPON RETURNING TO MY TRUCK 10 MIN LATER, I DROVE TO THE FIRST LIGHT AND WENT TO USE MY BRAKES AND THE PEDAL WENT RIGHT TO THE FLOOR. NO BRAKES.
