WHILE LOADING THE VEHICLE TAILGATE FELL OFF. *AK
ABOUT ONE WEEK AFTER I PURCHSED MY TRUCK I WAS STOPPING AT STOP SIGN, AND MY TRUCK SUDDENLY ACCLERATED. THIS HAPPENS OCASSOANALLY. IT CAN HAPPEN ONCE OR TWICE A WEEK OR IT CAN GO A COUPLE MONTHS WITHOUT A INCIDENT. I HAD IT TO THE DEALER (ZIMMERMAN FORD IN CEDAR RAPIDS IOWA) THEY REPROGRAMED IT AND THAT DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. I HAVE TOLD THEM MANY TIMES THAT IT WAS STILL OCCURING AND THEY SAID IF THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM WHILE THEY HAD IT THEY COULD NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. I HAVE BEEN HAVING THIE PROBLEM FOR 18 MOUNTHS NOW. I CAME VERY CLOSE TO HAVING A ACCIDENT 3 TIMES AND WILL NOT DRIVE THE TRUCK ANYMORE. IT IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE. I CALLED FORD MOTOR COMPANY AND THEY REFERED ME BACK TO THE DEALER, WHICH HAS GOTTEN ME NOWHERE. I SEE WHERE THERE HAVE BEEN 8 OR MORE COMPLAINTS ON YOUR WEBSIGHT WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. MY FORD DEALER SAID THEY HAVE A THING CALLED OASIS FOR DEALERS TO REPORT THEASE PROBLEMS TO FORD AND THERE WAS NOT ANY COMPLAINTS WITH THIS PROBLEM.
"NEW 2004" F-150 WITH 4X4 AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. VEHICLE IN DRIVE POSITION POINTED UPHILL ON GRADES GREATER THAN 20 DEGREE WILL ROLL BACKWARDS ( AS IF IN NEUTRAL) . TRANSMISSION WILL NOT HOLD VEHICLE IN PLACE! SAME RESULTS IN D2,D1, AND REVERSE. SEEN BY DEALER AND CONFIRMED TO BE "NORMAL" CONDITION. BUT NO WHERE IN THE OWNERS MANUAL IS THIS CONDITION STATED. TESTED 4 OTHER VEHICLES, SAME CONDITION RESULTED. IF THIS IS IN FACT "NORMAL" IT NEEDS TO BE IN THE OWNERS MANUAL TO WARN CONSUMERS! *CB
SHOULDER HARNESS ON SEAT BELTS CAUSING PROBLEMS, EXCESSIVE PRESSURE ON SHOULDER. SEAT BELT IS ATTACHED TO THE BACK OF THE SEAT AND COMES FROM APPROXIMATELY 4" BELOW THE SHOULDER FROM THE REAR AND OVER. CONTACTED FORD ABOUT PROBLEM. THEY SEEM NOT TO HAVE HAD ANY OTHER COMPLAINTS ABOUT PROBLEMS WITH THE SEAT BELTS IN THE 2004 F-150 SUPERCABS.*AK
WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH THE CONSUMER LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND AS A RESULT HAD A HEAD ON COLLISION WITH A GUARDRAIL. THE CONSUMER STATED THAT NEITHER OF THE FRONTAL AIR BAGS DEPLOYED UPON IMPACT. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED INJURIES. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY ADDITIONAL INFORMATION. *NM *MR
AT SPEEDS OF 52, 54 MPH THE REAR END MAKES A "WINING NOISE" LIKE THE PINION GEAR IS BAD. TOOK TRUCK IN FOR SERIVCE TO DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID FORD SAYS THE NOISE IS NORMAL ENGNIEERING. I DON'T AGREE AND AM VERY ANNOID WITH THE DEALER AND FORD.
LEFT FRONT END , WHEN I BACK OUT OF A PARKING SPOT AFTER LETTING THE TRUCK SIT FOR OVER A MINUTE, AS I START TO DRIVE I CAN FEEL AND HEAR A ROUGH NOISE, I CAN FEEL IT ON THE DRIVERS FLOORBOARD, IT VIBRATES FOR A SECOND OR TWO AND ITS ALSO AUDIBLE, I TOOK IT INTO MY DEALER HAD HE SAID HE HEARD NOTHING BUT I HAVE LET FRIENDS DRIVE AND THEY SAY THEY HEAR AND FEEL IT TOO, THE SOUND IS LIKE SOMETHING MAY BE RUBBING OR SETTING BACK INTO PLACE. MY TRUCK IS A 2004 F150 AND STARTED DOING THAT ABOUT 2 MONTHS AFTER I BOUGHT IT. *AK
I PURCHASED A FORD F150 NEW IN JANUARY OF 2004. ON MANY OCCASIONS, WHEN ATTEMPTING TO MERGE INTO TRAFFIC, PASS ANOTHER VEHICLE, ETC., THE TRANSMISSION FEELS LIKE IT SLIPS INTO NEUTRAL. THE ENGINE SPEED INCREASES BUT THE VEHICLE DOES NOT ACCELERATE. THIS HAS RESULTED IN A FEW NEAR-MISSES WHEN I MERGED INTO FREEWAY TRAFFIC AND HAVE NEARLY BEEN HIT BY ONCOMING TRAFFIC. THE SERVICE REP AT MY DEALERSHIP SAYS THAT HE CAN'T DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THIS IS VERY ANNOYING AND VERY DANGEROUS.*AK
ON THE BELOW DATE MY PASSENGER DOOR WINDOW FELL DOWN IN TO THE DOOR. THIS IS THE 3RD WINDOW TO DO THIS. IT HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING AND SCARED ME SO BAD I ALMOST DROVE OFF THE ROAD. THERE WAS A LOUD POP AND THE WINDOW WAS GONE. *TR
2004 - FORD 150 - SUPERCAB WHEN THE REAR DOORS ARE CLOSED, UNLESS THEY ARE CLOSED VERY FIRMLY, ONLY THE LOWER LATCH WILL ENGAGE. THE DOORS APPEAR TO BE CLOSED AND ONLY IF YOU PULL ON THE UPPER PORTION WILL YOU SEE A SMALL GAP OPEN BY THE ROOF LINE.*AK WHEN THE FRONT DOORS ARE THEN CLOSED THEY ALSO APPEAR TO BE SECURE AND THE "DOOR AJAR" INDICATOR DOES NOT COMES ON. BECAUSE THE FRONT DOOR ARE SECURED BY THE BACK DOORS, ONLY THE LOWER LATCH IS NOW HOLDING BOTH DOORS WHICH I BELIEVE MAY BE AN UNSAFE DESIGN.
I JUST BOUGHT A BRAND NEW 2004 F150 4.6 L 4X4 SUPER CAB ON JANUARY 31, 2004. UPON ACCELERATION THERE IS A NOTICEABLE JINGLING/RATTLING NOISE COMING FROM THE ENGINE AREA. I HAVE TAKEN THE TRUCK BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENT 4 TIMES AND HAVE TALKED TO FORDS CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPARTMENT NUMEROUS TIMES. THEY CLAIM THIS IS NORMAL VACUUM RESONANCE COMING FROM THE INTAKE. IN MY OPINION A BRAND NEW TRUCK THAT RATTLES OR JINGLES UPON ACCELERATION HAS A DESIGN DEFECT OR THERE IS A DEFECT WITH MY TRUCK. IN EITHER CASE FORD OUGHT TO FIX IT. FORDS POSITION IS THAT THIS IS MY PROBLEM NOT THEIR PROBLEM. *CB
2004 FORD F-150 HAS EXTREMELY HIGH AMOUNT OF VIBRATION. VIBRATION IS FELT THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE OPERATING RANGE IN THE CAB OF THE VEHICLE FROM THE FLOORBOARD TO THE ROOF. THE VIBRATION IS SO BAD THAT IT WILL LITERALLY PUT YOUR FEET TO SLEEP AFTER ABOUT FIFTEEN MINUTES AND YOUR HANDS BEGIN TO GO NUMB AFTER ABOUT THIRTY MINUTES. THE TRUCK HAS BEEN IN THE DEALERSHIP ON FOUR OCCASIONS FOR REPAIRS AND NOTHING THEY HAVE DONE HAS HELPED THE PROBLEM IN THE LEAST AMOUNT.
VEHICLE VIBRATION AND VERY NOTICEABLE STEERING WHEEL SHIMMY/NIBBLE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS ABOVE 45 MPH. BAD VIBRATION WHEN BRAKING. IN FEBRUARY 2004, BEGINNING AT APPROXIMATELY 3000 MILES, I HAD VEHICLE CHECKED/SERVICED SEVERAL TIMES BY FORD DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENT. WAS TOLD TO KEEP DRIVING IT UNTIL IT GETS BROKEN IN (SUGGESTED ABOUT 12-15,000 MILES). DIAGNOSES RANGED FROM WARPED BRAKE ROTORS TO "TIRES SLIPPING ON THE RIMS." VEHICLE NOW HAS 31,000MILES AND THE PROBLEM STILL HAS NOT BEEN RESOLVED. *JB
FORD F150 ACCELERATES WHEN THE BRAKES ARE APPLIED.*MR THE CONSUMER EXPERIENCED THE PROBLEM ONE WEEK AFTER PURCHASING THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN TO THE DEALER AT LEAST 3-4 TIMES, HOWEVER THEY WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. *JB
DEALERSHIP INDICATED THAT THE TIRES WERE IMPROPERLY MADE FROM THE FACTORY WHICH DID NOT ALLOW THEM TO BE BALANCED, AND THEY SHIMMIED WHILE DRIVING.*AK
DT: ENGINE FAILURE. FAIL SAFE MODE LIGHT COMES ON, AND THE VEHICLE LOSES POWER. HAS BEEN TRYING TO GET IT FIXED FOR A YEAR. DEALER SAID THEY ARE TRYING TO FIND WHAT THE PROBLEM IS, BUT CANNOT FIND CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM. MANUFACTURER WILL NOT CONTACT CALLER BACK A,ND WILL NOT OFFER ANY HELP. COMPUTER PARTS AND ELECTRICAL PARTS HAVE BEEN REPLACED AND NOTHING HAS HELPED. *AK
WE RECENTLY PURCHASED A 2004 FORD F-150 SUPER CREW, MY 5 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER WAS GETTING INTO THE BACK SEAT OF THE VEHICLE, AND SHE PUT HER HAND INTO THE DOOR JAM AREA WHERE THERE IS WHAT LOOKS LIKE A "SCISSOR" HINGE. IF THE DOOR IS NOT ALL THE WAY OPEN AND A FINGER GETS CAUGHT IN THERE THE DOOR IF PUSHED OPEN CLOSES THE HINGE. MY DAUGHTERS TOP LEFT MIDDLE FINGER WAS ALMOST COMPLETELY SEVERED OFF. SHE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL HOSPITAL WHERE SHE RECEIVED STICHES AND WAS REFERRED TO A HAND SURGEON. THIS HINGE SHOULD BE LOOKED AT AND POSSIBLY REDESIGNED, THE ONLY WAY TO REMOVE HER FINGER FROM THE HINGE WAS TO CLOSE THE DOOR SLIGHTLY. *LA
DRIVELINE/TRANSMISSION SLIPS AND CLUNKS WHEN ACCELERATING ON 2004 F150 4X4. REQUENCY: INTERMITTENT ROUGHT INTO 2 DIFFERENT DEALERS AND BOTH SAID COULD NOT DUPLICATE THEREFORE COULD NOT FIX. CONSEQUENCES OF FAILURE: IF HAPPENS WHILE ACCELERATING INTO MERGE TRAFFIC OR INTERSECTION COULD CAUSE LOSS OF POWER TO VEHICLE. *AK
WHILE DRIVING WITH THE REAR WINDOW OPEN, THE VEHICLE VIBRATED. THE DRIVER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR ANALYSIS. *PH EXTREME VIBRATION OF THE CAB WAS ENCOUNTERED UPON LEAVING EITHER OR BOTH REAR DOOR WINDOWS BELOW 30%WHILE DRIVING ABOVE 35 MPH. THE VIBRATION INCREASED WHEN THE SPEED INCREASED AND WAS MOST PREVALENT ABOVE 50 MPH. THE VIBRATION SEEMD TO BE CAUSED BY AIR PRESSURE ENTERING THE VEHICLE. *CB *JB
WHILE DRIVING BETWEEN 45-60 MPH THERE WAS SEVERE VIBRATION. DEALERSHIP SERVICED VEHICLE 4 TIMES, BUT COULD NOT LOCATE THE CAUSE OF THE VIBRATION. *AK *LA
I PURCHASED MY 2004 FORD F-150 LARIAT OCT 2003.THE FRONT END AND STEERING WHEEL VIBRATES AT SPEEDS OF 68 TO 72 MPH. I HAVE TAKEN IT BACK TO THE DEALER ON NUMEROUS OCCATIONS, AND THE PROBLEM STILL EXITS.I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT(1)ALL TRUCKS VIBRATE(2)AFTER TAKING THE TRUCK THEY STATED THAT THERE WAS NOTHING ELSE THEY COULD DO.*AK
TIRES REPLACED AT LESS THAN1,000 MILES. REAR END REPLACED AT LESS THAN 5,000 MILES STEERING WHILLE VIBRATION AT HIGH SPEEDS REPORTED FROM DAY ONE. TIRES REBALANCED AND FRONT END CHECKED MORE THAN 3 TIMES AND STILL HAVE VIBRATION AT HIGH SPEEDS. REAR ELECTRIC SLIDEING GLASS MOTOR BAD AT 6,000 MILES
PURCHASED '04 F-150 IN OCTOBER OR '03. AT SPEEDS, THE VIBRATION WAS SO BAD THAT MY HANDS SHOOK ON THE WHEEL, AND I COULD SEE THE HOOD MOVING. TWO TRIPS TO THE DEALER TO CHANGE TIRES AND BALANCE, ETC. DID NOTHING, THEN A PARTICULAR MECHANIC GOT ON IT AND FOUND OUT ABOUT THE DAMPER FIX. HE INSTALLED IT AND THERE IS GREAT IMPROVEMENT. I AM AMAZED THAT THE TRUCK CONTINUES TO BE SOLD WITH NO EFFORT TO CORRECT THE VIBRATION PROBLEMS, PARTICULARLY WHEN THE ADVERTISING CONTINUES TO SAY THAT IT IS SUCH A REMARKABLE VEHICLE. I ALSO HAD A SIDEWALL BLOW OUT AND IT WAS TOUGH TO FIND REPLACEMENT GENERAL TIRE IN THE CORRECT SIZE. MY COMPLAINT ISN'T THE DEALER, ITS THE DESIGNERS. I'LL BE INTERESTED TO SEE IF CHANGES ARE MADE IN THE 2005.*AK

WHILE THE TRUCK WAS PARKED AT CAMPSITE, ABOUT MIDNIGHT, CONSUMER WAS AWAKENED TO FIND THE TRUCK ON FIRE. CONSUMER AND OTHERS AT THE CAMPSITE EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE. HAD TRUCK TOWED TO AN AUTOMOBILE CLINIC, AND WAS INFORMED THE FIRE STARTED FROM THE FUEL TANK. THEN, CONSUMER RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FOR THE SAME PROBLEM.*AK

2004 FORD F150 DEVELOPED A PROBLEM WITH VIBRATION WHEN DRIVING AT 45 TO 60 MPH.***NO ANSWER REQUIRED***. *MR THE VIBRATION BEGAN AT ABOUT 7000 MILES. THE TRUCK WOULD VIBRATE SO BADLY THAT THE CONSUMR WAS FORCED TO PULL TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. MANY ATTEMPTS WERE AMDE TO REPAIR THE PROBLEM BUT THEY WERE NOT SUCCESSFUL. *NM

WHEN PULLING INTO TRAFFIC SOMETIMES TRANSMISSION SLIPS. THIS CAUSES VEHICLE TO LOOSE POWER, AND COULD RESULT IN A REAR END OR FRONTAL COLLISION. *AK
CONSUMER NOTICED THE HAD ADJUSTABLE PEDAL MOVED UP, WHICH CAUSED THE CONSUMER TO DEPRESS THE FUEL PEDAL WHILE STOPPING. THIS RESULTED IN THE VEHICLE RUNNING INTO A POST. *AK THE REAR TIRES SPUN AND SMOKED AND SMOKE ENTERED THE CABIN OF THE VEHICLE.*TS *JB
THE CONSUMER STATED THE MANUFACTURER INSTALLED A THIN METAL COOLING COIL ON THE FRONT FRAME MEMBER, WHICH WAS 13 INCHES FROM THE GROUND. THIS COIL COULD BE DAMAGED IF THE TRUCK GOES THROW A PUDDLE,WHICH WOULD RESULT IN STEERING FAILURE. *JB
CONSUMER COMPLAINED ABOUT STEERING PROBLEM. WHILE DRIVING ABOUT 76 MPH VEHICLE INADVERTENTLY CHANGED LANES. DRIVER TURNED THE STEERING WHEEL IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION, AND VEHICLE FELT LIKE IT WAS GOING TO ROLL OVER. CONSUMER TOOK VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP, AND TRADED IT AFTER ONLY 10 DAYS OF OWNERSHIP. *AK
WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS STEERING WHEEL VIBRATED. THE TIRES WERE ROTATED AND ALIGNED, BUT THE PROBLEM RECURRED. DEALER INFORMED THE CONSUMER THAT THE PROBLEM COULD NOT BE FIXED. *AK
CONSUMER QUESTIONED WHY THE OPTIONAL POLISHED ALUMINUM WHEEL HE ORDERED WERE SUDDENLY REMOVED FROM THE OPTION LIST AND REPLACED WITH STEEL WHEELS. *PH *SC JB
