THIS IS THE FOURTH TIME I HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM. PRETTY MUCH EVERY THING IS FINE THEN I WILL GET THIS GRINDING SOUND WHEN I ATTEMPT TO ROLL DOWN OR UP A WINDOW. THE SAME FIX IS REQUIRED EACH TIME FROM THE DEALER. THE WINDOW ACTUATOR BREAKS AND HAS TO BE REPLACED. TODAY MARKS THE DAY THAT OFFICIALLY EVERY WINDOW ON THIS VEHICLE HAS HAD THIS PROBLEM. MY VEHICLE ONLY HAS 37,000 MILES ON IT. *TR
DT: THERE IS A LOUD CLANKING NOISE IN THE REAR END WHEN TAKING OFF AND WHEN SHIFTING GEARS. IT JUMPS SO BAD SOMETIMES YOU HAVE TO STOP THE VEHICLE AND LET IT COOL OFF BEFORE RESUMING RIDE. IT'S BEING HAVING THIS PROBLEM FOR THE PAST 2000 MILES. HAVE TAKEN TO THE MANUFACTOR AND THE DEALER. IT'S BEEN AT THE DEALER 3 TIMES FOR THIS PROBLEM ALONE. NO PARTS HAVE BEEN REPLACED. THE DEALER TOLD CONSUMER THAT IF THERE WAS NO RECALL THEY COULDN'T FIX IT BECAUSE ALL THE TRUCKS 2005 F150 REGULAR CABS HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM.*AK
DT: CONTACT HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE TIRES ON NEW 2005 FORD F150. HE HAS HAD TO HAVE THE TIRES REBALANCED EVERY 100-200 MILES .THE DEALER REPLACED 3 OF THE TIRES BECAUSE THEY COULD NOT GET THEM TO BALANCE WITHIN THE LIMITS. THE FIRST TIRE WAS REPLACED AT 56 MILES. NOW THE LEFT FRONT TIRE HAS A HUNK OF TREAD OUT OF THE TIRE. THEY WERE SAYING VEHICLE HIT SOMETHING TO CAUSE THIS, BUT VEHICLE HAS NOT HIT ANYTHING, AND THAT THE TIRE WAS A ROAD HAZARD . ALSO, IT WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THE WARRANTY. THERE WAS VIBRATION IN STEERING WHEEL WHILE DRIVING 50-60 MPH. THEY PUT A STABILIZER ON THE LEFT REAR IN THE FRAME TO TRY AND CORRECT THE PROBLEM, BUT THE TIRES STILL WERE UNBALANCED. *AK
DT: 2005 FORD F150 4 DOOR QUAD CAB. THE CONSUMER EXPERIENCED SUDDEN ACCELERATION ON 2 SEPARATE OCCASIONS. THE LAST INCIDENT THE CONSUMER CRASHED INTO A BUILDING. *JB
ON 3-17-05 BRAKE PEDDLE WENT TO THE FLOOR. I HAD JUMP THE CURB TO AVOID ANOTHER CAR. HAD TOWED TO MIKE SHAD FORD AND WAS TOLD "THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM!" ON 3-22-05 COMING TO A RED LIGHT MY BRAKES FAILED AGAIN. I APPLIED THE EMERGENCY BRAKE AND STOPPED. I TOOK THE TRUCK BACK TO THE SAME DEALER AND THE SERVICE MANAGER CONFIRMED THE FAILURE.
DT: WHILE DRIVING 5-10 MPH THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT STRAIGHT TO THE FLOOR AND THE CONSUMER HAD TO PUT IT IN PARK TO GET VEHICLE TO STOP AT A STOP SIGN. THIS OCCURRED ON 3-1-05 FOR THE FIRST TIME. THE CONSUMER TOOK VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY REPLACED THE MASTER CYLINDER AND SOLENOID VALVE BLOCK. ALSO, THEY PUT IN SOME BRAKE FLUID. IT HAPPENED AGAIN UNDER THE SAME CIRCUMSTANCES ON 8-10-2005. THE NEXT TIME CONSUMER TOOK VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP THEY COULD NOT IDENTIFY THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM. THEY RAN SEVERAL TESTS ON THE VEHICLE AFTER CONTACTING THE TECHNICAL SERVICES PERSON FOR THE MANUFACTURER. THEY DID NOTHING TO ALTER THE VEHICLE. *AK *JB
FORD F150 2005 , AFTER ABOUT 100 TO 150 MILES ON TRUCK DRIVING ON A ROAD WITH SLIGHT HILLS NOTICED VIBRATION , AT OR ABOUT 2100 TO 2400 RPMS IN ANY GEAR FLAT OR HILLY SURFACE AND AT ANY SPEED AS LONG AS 2100 TO 2400 RPMS ARE REACHED , TRUCK VIBRATES THROUGH OUT THE TRUCK , CONTACTED DEALERSHIP WHERE PURCHASED 3 TIMES FIRST WAS TOLD TO BRING TRUCK BACK IN FOR FURTHER TESTING , SECOND TIME DRIVABLE TECH WENT FOR RIDE NOTICED VIBRATION , THIRD TIME SERVICE MANAGER DROVE TRUCK NOTICED VIBRATION , CONTACTED FORD , FORD STATES ISSUE IS NORMAL FOR TRUCK NOT GOING TO DO ANYTHING , BUT HAS TSB FOR ISSUE 05-15 , SO I AM TO ASSUME THAT FORD IS NOW PRODUCING TRUCKS THAT VIBRATE AT SET RPMS . THE TRUCK NOW HAS ABOUT 650 MILES ON IT AND THE VIBRATION IS GETTING WORSE BUT FORD OR THE DEALERSHIP WILL NOT DO ANYTHING TO FIX THE ISSUE.*AK
WHILE SHIFTING THE VEHICLE INTO PARK AND GETTING OUT OF THE VEHICLE, THE VEHICLE WENT INTO REVERSE. THE CONSUMER WAS ABLE TO GET BACK INTO THE VEHICLE AND STOPPED THE VEHICLE. THE TRUCK WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER HAD TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION LEVEL LINKAGE. *SC *JB
2005 FORD F150 SUPER CAB EXPERIENCING PROBLEMS GETTING OUT OF A U-TURN.***NO ANSWER REQUIRED***. *MR THE WHEEL SHOULD GO BACK TO DEAD CENTER AFTER HAVE COMPLETED A TURN. ALSO, WHEN DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS THE TRUCK WANDERED BOTH TO THE RIGHT AND LEFT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO EXPLAINED THAT THE PROBLEM WAS NORMAL. *BF
A WEEK AFTER I HAD PICKED UP MY NEW 2005 FORD F150 LARIAT THE 5.4L ENGINE STARTED KNOCKING AND SPUTTERING. AFTER TAKING IT BACK TO THE DEALER THEY DETERMINED THAT THE PROBLEM WAS RELATED TO FAULTY SPROCKETS ON THE CAM SHAFTS (BULLETIN SSM-18342). I BROUGHT IT IN FOR SERVICE AND A WEEK AFTER GETTING IT BACK THE KNOCKING AND SPUTTERING IS STILL THERE AND GETTING WORSE. NOW I'M GOING BACK TO THE DEALER INSISTING THE ENGINE BE REPLACED. I DON'T EXPECT A LOT OF COOPERATION.*AK
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD F150. THE CONTACT EXPERIENCED RAPID ACCELERATION WHENEVER HE CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP. HE HAD TO USE BOTH FEET ON THE BRAKE PEDAL AND SHIFT INTO NEUTRAL GEAR TO SLOW THE VEHICLE DOWN. THE DEALER STATED THAT THERE WERE NO PROBLEMS WITH THE VEHICLE. THE FORD MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND THEY STATED THAT THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 53,000.
THE COMPLAINANT PURCHASED A TRUCK FOR HIS BUSINESS AT THE COLORADO RIVER FORD DEALERSHIP IN BULLHEAD CITY AZ. THE DEALERSHIP OBTAINED THE TRUCK FROM CALIFORNIA AND HAD SAME DELIVERED TO BULLHEAD CITY. THE COMPLAINANT PICKED UP THE TRUCK AT THE DEALERSHIP AND IMMEDIATELY NOTED A PRONOUNCED ENGINE KNOCK. CALLING THE SERVICE DEPARTMENTS ATTENTION TO THIS PROBLEM THEY TOLD THE COMPLAINANT THAT THE NOISE WAS NORMAL. THE COMPLAINANT THEN MADE THEM START UP TWO SIMILAR TRUCKS ON THE LOT THAT DID NOT MANIFEST THE SAME KNOCK. THE COMPLAINANT REQUESTED A NEW TRUCK FROM THE DEALERSHIP THAT REFUSED TO HONOR THE REQUEST. THE COMPLAINANT HAD THE DEALERSHIP CONTACT THE MANUFACTURER IN DETROIT WHO ADVISED THAT THIS PROBLEM IS KNOWN TO ACCRUE IN SOME 2004/2005 MODELS AND THAT TO CORRECT SAME A NEW PART HAD TO BE ORDERED WHICH THE DEALERSHIP COULD NOT REPLACE AS THEY LACKED THE PROPER TOOLS TO DO SO. THE DEALERSHIP THEN DISMANTLED THE ENGINE. THE COMPLAINANT AGAIN ADVISED THE DEALERSHIP THAT HE WOULD NOT ACCEPT THIS DEFECTIVE TRUCK, AS HE HAD PURCHASED A NEW TRUCK TO BE IN PROPER WORKING CONDITION AND THE DEALERSHIP WAS NOW ATTEMPTING TO COMPEL THE COMPLAINANT TO ACCEPT A TRUCK THAT WAS DEFECTIVE FROM THE FACTORY. TO DATE THE TRUCK REMAINS AT THE DEALERSHIP. THE COMPLAINANT REFUSES TO ACCEPT THIS DEFECTIVE (FROM THE FACTORY) TRUCK AND THE DEALERSHIP REFUSES TO GIVE HIM ANOTHER NEW TRUCK IN LIEU OF THE DEFECTIVE ONE. YOUR ASSISTANCE IN THIS MATTER WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED, CONSTANTINE "CHUCK" BENTAS. *NM
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH, THE CONTACT RELEASED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, HOWEVER, THE RPM WOULD NOT DECREASE UNTIL THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED. IF THE BRAKES WERE NOT APPLIED, THE RPM WOULD DROP A HALF MILE LATER. THE DEALER STATED THAT THERE WAS NO FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 5,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 27,000. I AM A INSPECTOR OF FINAL ASSEMBLY AT THE MILAN VISTEON PLANT IN MILAN, MI RESPONSIBLE FOR THE FINAL INSPECTION OF FORD F-150 FUEL TANKS. THESE TANKS ARE CURRENTLY INVOLVED IN A SAFETY RECALL DUE TO PROCESS FAILURES IN THE THEMOFORMING STAGES. I HAVE BEEN ORDERED BY MY SUPERVISORS TO CIRCUMVENT QUALITY CHECKLISTS AND HAVE BEEN TOLD TO PLACE MISSED IDENTIFICATION STICKERS ON TANKS AS WELL AS QUALITY CHECK VERIFICATION MARKS DIRECTLY ON THE TANKS REGARDLESS OF MY DIRECT KNOWLEDGE OF THESES QUALITY STEPS HAPPENING IN ORDER TO MEET PRODUCTION GOALS.*AK
DRIVING HOME AND SUDDENLY THERE WAS A LOUD BANG. I THOUGHT SOMEONE SHOT OUT MY WINDOW. AFTER ARRIVING HOME I LOOKED AT IT AND REALIZED THAT THE GLASS HAD DROPPED DOWN INTO THE DOOR. MICHELIN BF GOODRICH TIRES WITH TIRE WEAR OUT PROBLEMS CUSTOMER WANTS HELP AND GUIDANCE**CC THE CONSUMER STATED 2 YEARS AFTER PURCHASING THE VEHICLE NEW, THE TIRES HAD WORN OUT SMOOTHLY. THE TIRES ONLY HAD 20,000 MILES. THE CONSUMER WAS INFORMED, THERE WAS A LIMITED WARRANTY WHICH COVERED MANUFACTURING DEFECTS IN WORKMANSHIP AND MATERIAL FOR 6 YEARS , OR UNTIL THE TIRES WEAR OUT WHICHEVER COMES FIRST. WHENEVER THE TIRES WEAR DOWN TO 2/32 DEPTH THERE IS NO LONGER WARRANTY CONSIDERATION. *JB
2005 FORD F150. REQUEST FOR A PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG ON/OFF SWITCH. CONSUMER STATES THAT AN ON/OFF SWITCH IS NEEDED DUE TO THE HAZARD OF THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG DEPLOYING AND SENDING THE LAPTOP INTO THE DRIVER OR PASSENGER. THE CONSUMER STATED HE AND THREE OTHER FIELD TECHNICIANS HAVE LAPTOPS MOUNTED IN THEIR VEHICLES. *JB

LTR FWD FM (VA) RE INCIDENT OF UNINTENDED SUDDEN ACCELERATION FM OWNER OF A 2005 FORD F-150 TRUCK, REPLY TO EMPORIA, VA OFC. *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED HE EXPERIENCED SUDDEN ACCELERATION ABOUT FOUR TIMES DURING THE 4 1/2 HE HAS OWNED THE TRUCK. THERE WERE MINIMAL RPM'S CREATED AND HE WAS PREVIOUSLY TOLD TO HOLD THE TRUCK WITH THE BRAKE AND SHIFT INTO NEUTRAL. THE TRUCK WOULD THEN DECELERATE. HOWEVER, THE LAST TIME THE INCIDENT OCCURRED, THE CONSUMER WAS UNABLE TO STOP THE TRUCK AND IT ACCELERATED INTO AN INTERSECTION. THE CONSUMER STATED THE INCIDENTS OCCURRED WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS COLD, OR HADN'T BEEN DRIVEN VERY FAR. *JB
