DT: CONTACT STATED WHILE TRAVELING AT 35 MPH THE TIRE CAME OFF THE RIM. HE LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO VEER INTO ON COMING TRAFFIC, AND COLLIDING WITH FOUR OTHER VEHICLES. THERE WAS NO WARNING PRIOR TO THE ACCIDENT. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALERSHIP. THE VEHICLE WAS TOTALED. THE MANUFACTURER HAS NOT BEEN CONTACTED TO DETERMINE WHAT MIGHT HAVE CAUSED THE PROBLEM. INJURIES WERE REPORTED. *AK
PURCHASED A 2005 F-150 4X4 FORD PICK-UP TRUCK AND IMMEDIATELY FELT A STRONG VIBRATION THROUGHOUT THE TRUCK. TOOK IT BACK TO THREE DIFFERENT DEALERSHIPS EACH ONE CLAIMING THEY FIX IT. THE VIBRATION STILL EXISTS AND NOW THE STEERING WHEEL IS VIBRATING. I BELIEVE THIS TRUCK IS UNSAFE. I WILL CONTINUE TO EXHAUST ALL AVENUES TO REPAIR OR REPLACE THIS TRUCK. *NM
FORD F-150 DEVELOPED SEVERE CHASSIS SHUDDER AT 60 MPH ON FREEWAY. EXITED FREEWAY AND SHUDDER DID NOT CONTINUE WHEN TRAVEL RESUMED. *NM
HAD MY F150 FOR LESS THAN 3 MONTHS WHEN NOTICED THE VIBRATION WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES, ALSO HAS ROUGH IDLE, AND ROUGH SUSPENSION. TOOK TO DEALER THEY STATED NOTHING WRONG... WELL NOW ITS BEEN ABOUT 9 MONTH AND THE VIBRATION HAS GOTTEN SO BAD THAT WHEN BRAKES ARE APPLIED YOU GET THE STEERING WHEEL SHAKING ALONG WITH THE TRUCK. AGAIN I TOOK TO THE DEALER NOW THEY TELL ME MY ROTORS ARE WARPED AND I NEED AN ALIGNMENT AND NEW TIRES CAUSE IT ATE THE TREAD OFF THE INSIDE OF THE TIRES, AND THEY WANT TO CHARGE ME $400.00. I TALKED TO THE TIRE WARRANTY DEPARTMENT HE EVEN SAID THAT IT SHOULDN'T BE HAPPENING ALONG WITH MANY OTHERS. BUT FORD SERVICE SAYS IT NORMAL.....NOW I AM DRIVING A TRUCK WITH KIDS THAT IS UNSAFE. MY PAINT JOB WAS DEFECTIVE AND THIN, MY WINDSHIELD WAS NOT SEALED PROPERLY, THERE ARE TICKING NOISES FROM UNDER THE DASHBOARD, THE FRONT END IS TOO HEAVY FOR THE ADDED WEIGHT TO THE TRUCK, THE TRANSMISSION STALLS THE TRUCK WHEN IT ROLLS BACKWARDS IN DRIVE, THE TRUCK SHAKES AT HIGH SPEEDS AND HAS EXCESSIVE TIRE WEAR, WHICH IS THE ONLY THING THAT FORD HAS ALL BUT ADMITTED TO BY EXTENDING THE EXCESSIVE TIRE WEAR/RIDE HARSHNESS WARRANTY FROM 1YR/12,000 MILES TO 3YRS/36,000 MILES. HAVE YOU EVER HEARD OF A CAR COMPANY GIVING AWAY SOMETHING UNLESS THERE WAS A SERIOUS PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE. *NM
DT: THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE VEHICLE SURGING FORWARD. ON SEPTEMBER 25, 2005 THE VEHICLE SURGED FORWARD , CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO RUN A STOP SIGN. THERE WAS NO ACCIDENT. ON OCTOBER 3, 2005 IT SURGED FORWARD AGAIN. THE ENGINE WAS ON AND IT WAS IN PARK. THEN, THE CONSUMER PUT VEHICLE INTO REVERSE AND IMMEDIATELY IT SURGED BACKWARDS. BECAUSE OF THE CONSUMER'S FOOT WAS O THE BRAKE IT KEPT THE VEHICLE FROM GOING INTO THE STREET. THE CONSUMER CONCERNED BECAUSE IT COULD HAVE CAUSED HIM TO HAVE TWO MAJOR ACCIDENTS. WHEN HE TOOK VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP, THEY COULD NOT FIND THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM.*AK
PURCHASED MY FORD F - 150 [XXX]) ON AUGUST 18, 2005. ON SEPTEMBER 17TH, 2005, WAS TOWING A CARGO TRAILER OF FURNITURE AND OTHER ITEMS AND WENT TO UNLOAD SOME OF THE THINGS AT THE FIRST STOP. I SET THE PARKING BRAKE ON THE VEHICLE SINCE I HAD BACKED UP A DRIVEWAY AND WAS PARKED ON AN INCLINE. UPON UNLOADING CERTAIN ITEMS AT THE FIRST STOP, I PULLED THE RELEASE LEVER ON THE PARKING BRAKE AND PROCEEDED TO THE NEXT STOP, ABOUT 10 MILES AWAY. WHILE ON THE WAY, I NOTICED A SHIMMY TO THE TRUCK AND ACTUALLY PULLED OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD TO SEE IF I HAD A FLAT TIRE OR SOME OTHER PROBLEM WITH EITHER THE TRUCK OR THE TRAILER I WAS TOWING. I DID NOT SEE ANYTHING OBVIOUS AND CONTINUED TO MY DESTINATION. WHILE BACKING THE TRUCK AND TRAILER INTO THE DRIVEWAY AT THE NEXT PLACE, I NOTICED THE REAR WHEEL ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE ONLY, WAS SMOKING. THE WHEEL WAS TOO HOT TO TOUCH AND HAD THE SMELL OF BURNT BRAKE LINING. AFTER CONTINUING ON MY TRIP ABOUT AN HOUR LATER, THE PROBLEM SEEMED TO HAVE RESOLVED ITSELF. AFTER THAT, I HAVE NOT USED THE PARKING BRAKE SINCE. I NOTICED A SLIGHT SHAKING IN THE STEERING WHEEL SINCE THE INITIAL INCIDENT THAT OCCURS WHEN BRAKING. THE SHAKING DOES NOT OCCUR ALL THE TIME, BUT SEEMS TO MORE PROMINENT DURING GRADUAL BRAKING. I BROUGHT THE VEHICLE IN FOR INSPECTION AT A FORD DEALER ON FEBRUARY 1, 2006 TO HAVE THE BRAKES LOOKED AT. THEY SAID EVERYTHING LOOKED NORMAL. NO ANOMALIES WERE NOTED. WHEN THEY TEST DROVE THE VEHICLE, THEY DID NOT NOTICE A SHIMMY OR SHAKING IN THE STEERING WHEEL DURING BRAKING. WHEN DRIVING PAST LUKE AIR FORCE BASE THE AIR BAG LIGHT ON THE DASH ILLUMINATES IN MY 2005 FORD F150. I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT THIS IS CAUSED BY THE RADAR. I WANT TO KNOW IF THE AIR BAG SYSTEM WILL FUNCTION NORMALLY IN THE EVENT AN ACCIDENT OCCURS WHEN THE LIGHT IS ON. OTHER PEOPLE WE KNOW ARE ALSO HAVING THIS PROBLEM WITH THEIR 2005 FORD TRUCKS AND SUVS. *NM
DT: NOTICED ON SEPTEMBER 9, 2005 THAT THE RESIDUE AROUND THE MASTER CYLINDER. CLEANED OFF THE RESIDUE AND OIL AROUND MASTER CYLINDER. IT WAS LEAKING BRAKE FLUID AND INTERMITTENTLY THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. THERE WAS NO FOREWARNING AND NO NOISE. CONTACTED THE DEALER, THE VEHICLE WAS GOING TO THE DEALER ON SEPTEMBER 30, 2005. *AK
RUNAWAY THROTTLE/UN-COMMANDED ACCELERATION EVENT. BRAND NEW VEHICLE, ONLY 110 MILES ON ODOMETER. WHILE WAITING FOR A STOPLIGHT WITH RIGHT FOOT ON BRAKE AND TRANSMISSION IN DRIVE, ENGINE BEGAN ACCELERATING UNEXPECTEDLY. NEITHER I NOR ANYTHING ELSE IN THE VEHICLE WAS PRESSING ON THE ACCELERATOR IN ANY WAY. THE UN-COMMANDED ACCELERATION INCREASED. I PRESSED HARDER ON THE BRAKES AND THE ACCELERATION CONTINUED TO INCREASE, TO THE POINT THAT THE REAR WHEELS BROKE LOOSE AND STARTED TO SQUEAL (THIS IS A RWD VEHICLE). THEN I MOVED THE TRANSMISSION SELECTOR TO NEUTRAL, AT WHICH TIME THE TORQUE TO THE REAR WHEELS WAS REMOVED. THE ENGINE RACED TO ABOUT 3000-3500 RPM AS OBSERVED ON THE TACH AND THEN RETURNED TO NORMAL IDLE. AT THIS POINT EVERYTHING WAS NORMAL, SO I CONTINUED TO DRIVE TO WORK SINCE I WAS VERY CLOSE. NO FURTHER PROBLEMS WERE NOTED. I PARKED THE VEHICLE IN OUR PARKING LOT AND CALLED THE DEALER (BERGE FORD, MESA, AZ) FOR FURTHER ADVICE. ALL OF THIS HAPPENED WITHIN ABOUT A THREE SECOND PERIOD. THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN STARTED FROM COLD AT ABOUT 6:30 AM AFTER BEING PARKED IN GARAGE OVERNIGHT (ON BOARD THERMOMETER READ 89 F WHEN I STARTED OUT). RUNAWAY THROTTLE EVENT OCCURRED AFTER DRIVING ABOUT FIVE MILES. AIR CONDITIONING WAS ON THE ENTIRE TIME. *JB
I HAVE A NEW 2005 F150 SUPER CREW 4X4 W/ 5.4L. ESPECIALLY NOTICEABLE IN CITY TRAFFIC, WHENEVER I SLOW DOWN AND THEN ACCELERATE, THERE IS A AT LEAST ONE OR MORE BUMPS OR JERKS SEEMING TO COME FROM THE TRANSMISSION OR DRIVE TRAIN. FORD WON'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. THIS IS TOO MAJOR OF A BUMP TO NOT CAUSE DAMAGE OR PROBLEMS LATER ON. *NM
DT: ON SEPTEMBER 2, 2005 VEHICLE SKIDDED WHILE COMING TO A STOP. IT SKIDDED THREE TIMES SINCE THEN, TWICE WHILE STOPPING AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT, AND WHILE TRYING TO MAKE A TURN INTO THE DRIVEWAY. ALSO, THE VEHICLE VIBRATED. THIS HAPPENED INTERMITTENTLY, AND T HAPPENED ON DRY PAVEMENT. TOOK VEHICLE TO THE DEALER, THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. DT: 2005 FORD F150. THE CONTACT STATED THE VEHICLE HAS A SPARE TIRE WHICH IT IS THE SAME SIZE AS THE OTHER TIRES THAT ARE NOT AVAILABLE. THE RIM WILL NOT FIT UNDER THE VEHICLE WITHOUT THE TIRE ON IT. THE CONTACT WAS NOT ABLE TO REPLACE THE TIRE BECAUSE IT WAS ON BACK ORDER. THE DEALERSHIP STATED THEY WERE NOT AWARE WHEN THE TIRE WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR REPLACEMENT. THIS IS A N ORIGINAL HANKOOK TIRE, P235/70R17.. THE HANKOOK DEALER COULD NOT REPLACE THE TIRE EITHER. FORD STATED IT WAS A NEW SIZE TIRE WITH A NEW MANUFACTURER.*AK
FOG LAMPS ON 2005 FORD, F150 TRUCKS WERE LEAKING THROUGH PRESSURE RELIEF HOLE. THIS CAUSED WATER TO DRIP INTO HALOGEN BULB, AND THEN BULB EXPLODED. DUE TO THIS PROBLEM MANY STATES WILL NOT PASS THIS IN STATE SAFETY INSPECTIONS. *AK
FRONT ROTORS WARPED WITHIN 9000 MILES AND WHEN BRAKES ARE APPLIED THE STEERING WHEEL JUMPS AND VIBRATES UNCONTROLIBLY ROTORS WERE RESURFACED AT 10,293 MILES THEN REPLACED AT 11,475 MILES AND REPLACED AGAIN AT 17,158 MILES AND AT THIS TIME I WAS TOLD THAT THE WARRANTY WOULD EXPIRE AT 23,475 MILES ON THE ROTORS AND I WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR REPLACEMENT PARTS AND LABOR AFTER THIS MILEAGE AS OF THIS DATE I HAVE 20,400 MILES ON VEHICLE AND THE ROTORS AGAIN ARE STARTING TO WARP WHICH CAUSES VIBRATION WHEN BRAKES ARE APPLIED *NM

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD F150. SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED, THE TRANSMISSION EXPERIENCED IRREGULARITIES WHILE SHIFTING. THE VEHICLE WOULD SHIFT IN AND OUT OF GEAR. THE CONTACT HEARD A NOISE WHEN THE VEHICLE SHIFTED INTO OVERDRIVE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER AT 23,400 MILES AND THEY STATED THAT NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. ROCKS WERE REMOVED FROM THE EXHAUST SHIELD. THE TECHNICIAN TEST DROVE THE VEHICLE AND STATED THAT THE NOISE WAS NORMAL. WHILE DRIVING AT 55 MPH, THE VEHICLE BEGAN JERKING AND THE TRANSMISSION FAILED WITHOUT WARNING. THE DEALER STATED THAT SOMETHING BECAME LOOSE WITHIN THE TRANSMISSION AND IT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. FORD STATED THAT THE CONTACT WOULD HAVE TO PAY OUT OF POCKET BECAUSE THE VEHICLE WAS NOT UNDER WARRANTY. THE PURCHASE DATE WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 67,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 8.
2005 FORD F150 LOSS BRAKE PEDAL PRESSURE. BRAKE PEDAL SLOWLY GOES TO THE FLOOR WITH LITTLE OR NO BRAKES. LEAKS BRAKE FLUID OUT OF THE MASTER CYLINDER RESERVOIR FROM UNDER CAP. *NM
TWO WEEKS AFTER PURCHASING MY F150 I NOTICED A TICKING SOUND COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH AND WITH THE A/C ON AND THE FAN IN LOW. I DROVE FOR ANOTHER WEEK TO DETERMINE WHAT THE NOISE WAS AND FOUND THAT IT IS APPARENTLY A RELAY THAT IS BEING CYCLED WHEN THE A/C COMPRESSOR TURNS ON. THE SWITCH WILL CYCLE ANYWHERE FROM ONCE EVERY TEN SECONDS AT 55 MPH AND ABOVE WITH THE FAN IN 1 OR 2 TO ONCE EVERY THIRTY SECONDS. THE SWITCH SELDOM CYCLES WHILE THE VEHICLE IS AT IDLE BUT CAN BE HEARD TO CYCLE WHEN THE A/C IS SWITCHED ON OR OFF AT IDLE OR WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. THERE IS NO APPARENT AFFECT ON THE A/C SYSTEM OPERATION. THE TICKING IS VERY LOUD AND ANNOYING. THIS IS NOT NORMAL FOR A NEW VEHICLE. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO MY DEALER AND THEY DID SEVERAL THINGS, FIRST THEY RECHARGED THE A/C SYSTEM AND TRIED TO RETURN THE TRUCK TO ME. I DROVE IT DOWN THE STREET, NOTED THE TICKING STILL THERE AND TOOK IT BACK. I SPOKE WITH THE SERVICE MANAGER WHO TOLD ME THAT THE TICKING IS "NORMAL" ON THESE TRUCKS. I PRESSED THE ISSUE AND HE MADE SOME ADJUSTMENTS AND ULTIMATELY CHANGED THE SWITCH/RELAY THAT IS CYCLING. THIS, HOWEVER IS THE WRONG SOLUTION, OBVIOUSLY THE SWITCH WORKS, WHAT IS NOT WORKING IS WHAT IS CAUSING IT TO CYCLE SO FREQUENTLY (AS OFTEN AS ONCE EVERY TEN SECONDS). AFTER A FULL DAY AT THE DEALERSHIP, I TOOK THE TRUCK AND HAVEN'T HAD THE TIME TO TAKE IT TO ANOTHER DEALER TO SEE IF THEY HAD ANOTHER SOLUTION. *NM
DT: THE CONTACT STATED THE FRONT AND REAR THIRD DO NOT ALWAYS CLOSE COMPLETELY. THIS SOMETIMES ALLOWED WATER TO LEAK INTO THE VEHICLE WHEN IT RAINED OR WHEN IT WAS WASHED. THERE WAS NO INDICATOR LETTING THE CONTACT KNOW THE DOOR DID NOT CLOSE PROPERLY. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. *AK
I RECENTLY BOUGHT A 2005 FORD F-150 XL, IN THE TWO MONTHS THAT I HAVE HAD THIS TRUCK I'VE HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS WITH IT. THE IGNITION SWITCH HAS BLOWN FUSES, CAUSING THE TRUCK TO NOT START, BUT SOMETIMES IT TAKES 3-4 TURNS OF THE KEY TO GET IT STARTED, EITHER THE ENGINE DOES NOTHING OR IT WILL HESITATE FOR 5-6 SECONDS BEFORE FINALLY TURNING OVER. I AM ALSO HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE TRUCK STALLING. MOST COMMONLY THE STALLING OCCURS WHILE SITTING AT A RED LIGHT BUT IT HAS STALLED WHILE I WAS MOVING CAUSING ME TO LOSE POWER STEERING UNTIL I COULD GET THE TRUCK STARTED AGAIN. THE PASSENGER DOOR WAS OFF LINE AND WOULDN'T ALWAYS SHUT RIGHT CAUSING NOISE AND RAIN TO GET IN. I WAS MISSING SCREWS ON THE DOOR PANELS WITCH CAUSED A CONSTANT RATTLING FROM BOTH SIDES OF THE TRUCK. THE DOORS HAVE BEEN FIXED BY THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT WHERE I BOUGHT THE TRUCK, BUT IT IS STILL BY NO MEANS QUITE IN THERE, AND NOBODY CAN PERMANENTLY FIX THE ENGINE TROUBLES BECAUSE THEY DON'T KNOW WHY IT'S HAPPENING. THIS TRUCK IS NOT A SAFE AND DEPENDABLE WAY OF TRANSPORTATION FOR ME OR MY ONE YEAR OLD SON WHO IS SOMETIMES WITH ME. *JB
EVER SINCE DELIVERY OF VEHICLE (2005 FORD F150 LARIAT 4WD), VEHICLE "SHUTTERS" OR "JERKS" ON ACCELERATION FROM A COMPLETE STOP. INITIALLY THERE WAS ALSO SOME "POPPING" ON TURNING AND ACCELERATION, WHICH WAS FIXED BY THE DEALERSHIP. THE SHUTTERING HAS BEEN FIXED, BUT AFTER 3 REPAIR ATTEMPS, THE TRUCK CONTINUES TO JUMP/JERK ON ACCELERATION FROM A COMPLETE STOP. THE DEALERSHIP STATES THIS IS NORMAL, BUT THE DRIVELINE ONLY JERKS WHEN IN 2WD MODE - IT DOES NOT JERK IN 4WD. TO GET THE SHUTTERING TO STOP, FORD INSTALLED A SHIM KIT TO ALIGN THE DRIVELINE, WHICH THEY STATE IS A PROBLEM THEY FINALLY FOUND. *JB
DT: CONSUMER COMPLAINED THAT JACK THAT CAME WITH VEHICLE DOES NOT EXTEND HIGH ENOUGH SO THAT HE CAN CHANGE A FLAT. THE FLAT TIRE WILL COME OFF, BUT THE REPLACEMENT TIRE THAT IS INFLATED WILL NOT GO ON WITH THE JACK FULLY EXTENDED. CONSUMER HAD A FLAT ON VEHICLE AT ON AUGUST 4, 2005 AROUND 1:00 AM. CONSUMER HAD TO CALL FOR HELP. HE WAS STRANDED DUE TO IMPROPER JACK. HE WAS UNABLE TO CHANGE THE TIRE. TOW TRUCK DRIVER T CAME TO THE SCENE USED HIS JACK TO LIFT VEHICLE, AND TOW TRUCK DRIVERS JACK WAS ALSO TOO SHORT. HE HAD TO USE A 4X4 PIECE OF WOOD UNDER JACK TO CHANGE FLAT. CONSUMER BELIEVED THAT JACK WAS PROBABLY MADE FOR A 15 INCH TIRE. THIS VEHICLE HAD 17 INCH TIRES. WHEN CHANGING THE FLAT WITH THE JACK SUPPLIED WITH VEHICLE IT FELL OFF OF THE JACK.*AK UPDATED 1/4/2006 - *NM

I PURCHASED F150 LARIAT FROM LEIF JOHNSON FORD IN AUSTIN OCT 2004. I HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING TROUBLE WITH THE TRUCK NOT WANTING TO COME OUT OF PARK. YOU CAN PUT YOUR FOOT ON THE BRAKE ALL DAY LONG AND TRY TO PUSH THE BUTTON IN TO MOVE THE GEAR AND NOTHING HAPPENS. I HAVE BEEN TO THE DEALERSHIP 4 TIMES IN THE PAST MONTH TRYING TO RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. LAST FRIDAY 8-05-05 THEY CHANGED OUT THE COMPLETE GEAR SHIFT THINKING THAT WAS THE PROBLEM AND HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM ON THAT SATURDAY 8-06-05 AND AGAIN 8-07-05,8-08-05 IN WHICH I RETURNED TO FORD.*JB

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP FOUR TIMES, AND THEY WOULD LIKE TO FIX THE VEHICLE, BUT THEY CONTACTED FORD. THE DEALERSHIP SPOKE WITH THE REGIONAL FORD REPRESENTATIVE, WHO TOLD THEM THIS WAS NORMAL FOR THE VEHICLE ALTHOUGH NONE OF THE OTHER TRUCKS HAD A SIMILAR PROBLEM. THE CONTACT TEST DROVE A 1999 MODEL AND DROVE IT THE SAME PLACES WHERE SHE EXPERIENCED THE PROBLEM ,AND THAT VEHICLE DID NOT EXPERIENCE THE SAME PROBLEM. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD VIBRATE VIOLENTLY WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED, BUT WERE UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 76,000.

I PURCHASED A 2005 FORD F150 (LOBO EDITION) IN SAN ANTONIO TEXAS IN JUNE 2005. WE PICKED IT UP A WEEK LATER SO THEY COULD INSTALL A BEDLINER.ON THE WAY HOME I CAME TO A STOPLIGHT,PRESSED THE BRAKE, AND THE TRUCK STARTED REVING(LIKE I WAS PRESSING THE GAS TOO!) SO I WAS AT THE RED LIGHT AND HAD MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE AND THE TRUCK WAS ACTING LIKE IT WANTED TO TAKE OFF! MY HUSBAND DROVE IT AND IT HAPPENED TO HIM 3 TIMES(THE FIRST TIME I WAS WITH HIM). WHILE MY HUSBAND WAS COMING TO A STOP, THE TRUCK ACCELERATED (WHILE HE HAD HIS FOOT ON THE BRAKE!) HE ALMOST DROVE COMPLETELY INTO A DITCH. PINION ANGLE CHANGED TWICE ON TRUCK CAUSING MORE VIBRATIONS THAT FORD WON'T FIX. NOW TRUCK IS LEAKING ENGINE OIL FROM REAR MAIN. I AM AFRAID TO TAKE TRUCK ON LONG TRIPS FOR FEAR OF DRIVELINE FAILURE. 2004 F-150 SUPER CREW STALLED AFTER DECELERATING AND AT LOW SPEED TURNING LEFT THROUGH ONCOMING TRAFFIC. ON JUNE 4, 2005 AT ABOUT 6:30 PM I HAD LOADED UP SOME SCRAP ALUMINUM (FROM A SMALL SHED WE HAD TOOK APART) INTO THE BED OF MY TRUCK. AFTER FINISHING LOADING THE SCRAPS, I WENT TO SHUT THE TAILGATE WHICH STRUCK A THIN 1- 1 1/2 INCH WIDE PIECE OF SCRAP HANGING OFF THE END OF THE BED PART OF THE TRUCK ABOUT 1-2 INCHES AND THE TAILGATE CAME OFF IT'S HINGES FALLING ONTO MY RIGHT KNEE. I HAVE HAD TO GO TO THE ER 2 TIMES THIS WEEKEND. SATURDAY NIGHT I HAD X-RAYS THAT HAVE SHOWN THAT THE IMPACT OF THE TAILGATE FALLING ON MY KNEE FRACTURED MY KNEE CAP, I HAVE A TOMATO HEMATOMA IN MY KNEE, AND TORE A LIGAMENT IN MY KNEE. TODAY (MONDAY JUNE 6) I WENT TO SEE MY DOCTOR AND WAS GIVEN A DATE TO HAVE AN MRI DONE FOR THIS COMING THURSDAY AND ALSO SET UP AN APPOINTMENT TO SEE AN ORTHOPEDIC DOCTOR.THIS WAS A BAD EXPERIENCE, BUT IT COULD HAVE BEEN ALOT WORSE IF IT HAD INVOLVED A CHILD BECAUSE THOSE TAILGATES ARE VERY HEAVY AND CAN CAUSE SOME SERIOUS DAMAGE. DT: AT 400 MILES THE VEHICLE SHOOK VIOLENTLY WHEN PUTTING PRESSURE ON THE BRAKES. THIS HAPPENED ON MAY 18, 2005. CONTACTED THE DEALER, AND THEN TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER, WHO CLAIMED THE ROTORS WERE WARPED FROM HEAT. THEY GOT PERMISSION FROM FORD TO PUT ON DIFFERENT ROTORS.
