5:30 pm 4/12/21 was driving home from umpiring a baseball game, drove threw intersection when suddenly I was thrown into passenger seat of my truck, the next thing I know im stopped in front of a tree with a telephone pole on the hood of my truck with no idea what or how this happened. I was lucky no one was coming the opposite direction on the 2 lane road cause I wouldn't have been able to control truck even at 40mph, another 5min and I would have been on the interstate going 65mph and surely I'd be dead. After a week I was able to go out and look at my truck thats when I noticed the flat front passenger tire was flat and the inner ring of the rim came off. I had an accident investigator look at it , I hired a lawyer and a metallurgical expert to examine rim. There was no warning the rims were still new.
THE WAY THAT THE WHEEL IS MADE IT ALLOWS FOR WATER TO SEAT IN THE INTER GROOVE WHICH THEN RUST HOLE INTO THE WHEEL CAUSEING AIR TO LEAK OUT OF TIRE AND POSSIBLE DRIVER LOOSING CONTROL OF VEHICLE WHICH ALMOST HAPPENED TO ME AT 60 MPH ON AN INTERSTATE HWY I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER IN TIME

BOUGHT 2006 FORD F150 HAD FOUR GENERAL TIRES ON IT AMERITRACK TR. FACTORY WELDS ON WHEELS FAILED CAUSING RAPID LOSS OF TIRE PRESSURE. THIS HAS HAPPENED TWO DIFFERENT TIMES ON TWO DIFFERENT WHEELS.

HE NOTICED THAT THE TIRE'S WEEKS AND YEAR WERE MISSING FROM ALL FOUR TIRES. NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 05T022000 (TIRES:TREAD/BELT) WAS REFERENCED. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 16,500.

PUT SPARE TIRE ON THE WORST ONE, TOOK BACK TO DEALERSHIP AND FORD REPLACED ALL 4 TIRES SINCE THE OTHER ONE WAS DIFFERENT MAKE AND WRONG SIZE. ON AUGUST 26, 2007 I WAS TRAVELING EAST ON HIGHWAY 190 BETWEEN KEMPNER, TX AND COPPERAS COVE, TX AT ABOUT 10:30 A.M. IN A 2006 FORD F-150 SUPER CREW WITH ABOUT 25,000 MILES ON IT. ROAD CONDITIONS WERE DRY AND THE ROADWAY WAS RECENTLY REDONE. MY SPEED WAS ABOUT 65 MPH IN A 70 ZONE. FOR NO REASONS THAT I CAN DETERMINE THE RIGHT REAR TIRE RAPIDLY DEFLATED. I MANAGED TO KEEP THE VEHICLE UNDER CONTROL AND PULLED ONTO THE SHOULDER. THE TIRE WAS DESTROYED WITH EVIDENT DAMAGE TO THE OUTER SIDEWALL. I PUT THE SPARE TIRE ON AND CONTINUED. MONDAY, 27 AUGUST I VISITED AUTOMAX FORD AND ASKED THEM TO REPLACE ALL THE TIRES ON THE VEHICLE. THE SERVICE MANAGER TOLD ME THAT TIRE DEFECTS WERE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE MANUFACTURER. I PURCHASED A NEW 2006 FORD F150 FROM A LOCAL FORD DEALER IN HUNTSVILLE, TX. AFTER PICKING UP THE VEHICLE WHILE DRIVING HOME IT WAS VERY AN APPARENT THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE TIRES, THE VEHICLE HAD AN EXTREME VIBRATION. I RETURNED TO THE DEALER, REPORTED THE PROBLEM AND REQUESTED THEM TO ADDRESS IT, THEIR SERVICE DEPARTMENT EMPLOYEE EXPLAINED THAT THE TRUCK HAD SET ON THE CAR LOT FOR SOME TIME AND THE TIRES GET FLAT SPOTS AND THIS IS THE PROBLEM, SHE TOLD ME TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE AND THE PROBLEM WOULD GO AWAY. THIS VEHICLE WAS JUST DRIVEN OVER 160 MILES (FROM AUSTIN, TEXAS TO HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS, AS IT WAS A DEALER SWAP, IN ORDER TO GET A VEHICLE WITH THE SPECS I HAD REQUESTED), BEFORE I TOOK POSSESSION OF THE VEHICLE. I HAD DRIVEN THE VEHICLE OVER 100 MILES BEFORE RETURNING TO THE DEALER TO REQUEST THIS PROBLEM BE CORRECTED, AFTER TALKING TO THEIR SERVICE PERSON, I PUT MORE MILES ON THE VEHICLE, THE VIBRATION STILL EXIST, WENT BACK TO THE HUNTSVILLE FORD DEALER SERVICE DEPT, AGAIN REQUESTED THE ROTATE AND BALANCE THE TIRES, LEFT THE VEHICLE FOR REPAIRS, MY RIDE HOME WAS NOT MUCH BETTER, STILL A VIBRATION, LATE TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER, THEY TOLD ME TO DRIVE IT AND IT WILL GET BETTER, SO I DROVE IT 34,000 MILES, NO CHANGE IN THE VIBRATION, HE ONLY CHANGE WAS A VERY UNEVEN WARE IN THE TIRES. WENT BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE THEY CAME UP WITH ALL KINDS OF REASONS WHY THEY ARE NOT LIABLE. I STILL HAVE THESE TIRES IN THE SHED BEHIND MY HOME, REMOVED AND REPLACED THEM WITH BF GOODRICH TIRES; THIS RESOLVED THE PROBLEM OF VIBRATION. NOW I WOULD LIKE A NEW SET OF TIRES TO REPLACE THESE DEFECTIVE CONTINENTAL TIRES AND HAVE SOMEONE LOOK INTO THE FORD DEALERS UNSAFE PRACTICE. *TR
