TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH, THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND THE VEHICLE STARTED TO LOSE ACCELERATION AND POWER. THE CONTACT HAD TO PULL INTO A FUEL STATION. THE MECHANIC AT THE STATION DETERMINED THAT THE IGNITION COIL AND A SPARK PLUG FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE CHANGED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE RECURRED THREE OTHER TIMES AND WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS INVALID. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 116,000.

FORD 150 PICK UP TRUCK REGULARLY MAINTAINED WITH 70,836 MILES WAS TRAVEL ON CITY STREETS AT SPEED LIMITS WHEN A "POPPING" SOUND WAS HEARD AND TRUCK WOULD NOT TRAVEL OVER 25MPH. NO CABIN LIGHTS, NO INDICATION OF PROBLEM. IMMEDIATELY TOOK TO AUTOMOTIVE CENTER, FOUND NO ERROR OR TROUBLE CODES ON DIAGNOSTIC EQUIPMENT AND ALL FLUID LEVELS WERE FULL AND CLEAN. AUTOMOTIVE CENTER DISCOVERED FAILED TRANSMISSION WITH PIECES OF METAL IN TRANSMISSION COOLER AND LINES DURING TRANSMISSION FLUSH USING FACTORY RECOMMENDED SOLUTION. FACTORY DEFECT OF TRANSMISSION, ENGINEERING DEFECT FOR LACK OF CABIN WARNING LIGHTS AND MAINTENANCE DIAGNOSTIC EQUIPMENT.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE TIRE WAS NOT REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 49,000 AND THE TIRE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20. THE DOT NUMBER WAS UNAVAILABLE.

MY BRAKE LIGHT INDICATOR ON THE DASHBOARD IS COMING ON. THIS SEEMS TO BE DO TO THE FACT THAT THE RESISTORS WERE NOT SODERED CORRECTLY. I'VE BEEN LOOKING ON MULTIPLE FORMS AND THIS HAS HAPPENED TO A LOT OF THE F150'S. FORD SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THSI.
SPARK PLUG BLEW OUT. MECHANIC REPLACED IT FOR $350 THEN IT BLEW OUT AGAIN 2 DAYS LATER. PROBLEM WITH FORD SPARK PLUG TEARING THREADS OUT AND NOT BEING ABLE TO REPLACE SPARK PLUG WITHOUT REPLACING ENTIRE ENGINE. MY SON WAS ON HIS WAY BACK TO COLLEGE (5HR DRIVE) WHEN THE SPARK PLUG BLEW. IT SOUNDED LIKE A SHOTGUN! HAD IT TOWED TO MECHANIC AND THEY REPLACED SPARK PLUG AND 2 DAYS LATER SAME ONE BLEW AGAIN WHILE DRIVING TO WORK. TOWED A SECOND TIME AND MECHANIC IS SEARCHING FOR WAYS TO RESOLVE. HE SAYS WE MAY HAVE TO REPLACE ENTIRE ENGINE BECAUSE OF THREADS BEING STRIPED WHEN IT BLEW OUT. FORD MECHANIC HAS LOOKED AT AND DOES NOT HAVE ANY SOLUTIONS. IN RESEARCHING ONLINE I HAVE DISCOVERED THAT THIS COULD HAVE POTENTIALLY BEEN VERY DANGEROUS. OTHERS WITH SAME PROBLEM HAVE HAD ENGINE FIRE WHEN SPARKPLUG BLEW. WE WERE IN PROCESS OF SELLING VEHICLE SO NOW WE ARE SOL! WE DON'T HAVE $4000 TO REPLACE ENGINE AND OUR FAMILY NEEDS A 2ND CAR. NEVER AGAIN WILL I BUY A FORD. THEY DO NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT!
WHEN MY TRUCK IS AT OPERATING TEMP. AND COMING TO A STOP IT SOUNDS LIKE A DIESEL, IT FIRST STARTS BY KNOCKING AND TICKING THEN IT SHUTS DOWN.. THIS IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM FOR WHEN YOUR PULLING ANYTHING WITH THE TRUCK ALWAYS IT WANTS TO DIE, OF COURSE UNLESS YOUR GOOD AND CAN THROW IT INTO NEUTRAL AND REV THE MOTOR TO 2000 RPM'S WITH KILLING ANYONE. YOU START LOSING STEERING AND BRAKES WHEN THE MOTORS RPM'S GET VERY LOW.
DRIVING ALONG, ABOUT 35MPH, STOPPED VEHICLE AT TRAFFIC LIGHT, ENGINE STARTED REVVING, PLACED BOTH FEET ON BRAKE, TRIED SHIFTING TO NEUTRAL, PROBLEM GOT WORSE (REVVED HIGHER), LIGHT TURNED GREEN, LET GO OF BRAKE, ENGINE REVVED AND VEHICLE WENT TO 45MPH WITHOUT ACCELERATING, APPLIED BRAKE, PULLED OVER, SHUT OFF ENGINE, RESTARTED ENGINE, STILL REVVING, PULLED BACK ON GAS PEDAL WITH FOOT, ENGINE RPMS FINALLY DROPPED TO NORMAL, INSPECTED FLOOR AREA -FOUND NO OBSTRUCTIONS NOR DEBRIS IN PEDAL. ALSO CONCERNED THAT THIS MAY HAVE HAPPENED ONCE BEFORE ABOUT 2 YEARS AGO, WHEN I WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED ON THE HIGHWAY WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO BE RESTARTED AFTER IT COOLED OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO REPAIRED THE VARIABLE SPEED TIMING SOLENOID. THE REMEDY DID NOT REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,334,000.
WHILE ATTEMPTING TO TURN LEFT (ACROSS ONCOMING TRAFFIC LANES) THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED AFTER ROTATING ONLY A FEW DEGREES. THIS WAS SUDDEN AND ABRUPT WITH NO PRIOR SYMPTOMS. SUBSTANTIAL FORCE WAS APPLIED IN AN ATTEMPT TO CONTINUE THE TURN. THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME FREE AND ROTATED A FEW MORE DEGREES BEFORE SEIZING AGAIN. AS BEFORE, SUBSTANTIAL PRESSURE WAS APPLIED AND I BELIEVE SOME BACK ROTATION (WIGGLING) WAS INPUT. THE STEERING FINALLY BECAME FREE AND FELT NORMAL. THIS DID NOT REPEAT AGAIN DURING THE USE OF THE VEHICLE THAT DAY. THE SEIZURE DID NOT FEEL LIKE A FAILURE OF THE STEERING ASSIST (PUMP) SYSTEM AS THE STEERING WHEEL COULD NOT BE ROTATED AS IT CAN BE IF THE STEERING PUMP ISN'T RUNNING. SOME RESEARCH FOUND REFERENCE TO BINDING OF THE U-JOINTS ON THE INTERMEDIATE STEERING SHAFT LOCATED IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. EXAMINATION OF THESE JOINTS FOUND THAT THEY ARE NOT PROTECTED BY RUBBER BOOTS AND SHOWED EVIDENCE OF CORROSION. A SPRAY LUBRICANT WAS USED IN AN ATTEMPT TO PREVENT THE ISSUE FROM RECURRING. THE INABILITY TO STEER THE VEHICLE IS, IN MY OPINION, A SUBSTANTIAL SAFETY ISSUE. ANY NUMBER OF SCENARIOS COULD BE IMAGINED, BUT IN MY PARTICULAR CASE, HAD THE SEIZURE NOT RELEASED, I WOULD HAVE FOUND MYSELF STOPPED IN THE PATH OF ONCOMING TRAFFIC WITH THE VEHICLE ONLY PARTIALLY TURNED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 40 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME DIFFICULT TO MANEUVER WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND DETERMINED THAT THE STEERING SHAFT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER OR WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 77,000.
2007 FORD F-150 XLT WITH 5.4L TRITON V8,ENGINE BEGAN SHAKING VIOLENTLY WHILE AT STOP LIGHT, THEN HESITATED CONSISTENTLY WHILE ACCELERATING 40-50MPH, NO WARNING LIGHTS OR INDICATORS ON IN TRUCK. FORD DEALERSHIP REPLACED COIL I BELIEVE, JUST PURCHASED THE TRUCK USED AND DIDN'T GET ANY DOCUMENTATION WHEN THEY FIXED IT.
THE COIL SPRING ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE STRUT BROKE WHICH APPEARS TO BE A WELL DOCUMENTED RELIABILITY PROBLEM ON THE F150 TRUCKS. THE MECHANIC SAID THAT THIS FAILURE ALWAYS HAPPENS ON THE DRIVERS SIDE AND THE SPRING BREAKAGE IS ALWAYS IN THE SAME SPOT. THE ID TAG ON THE PART WAS U 4L34 5310- BUT THE REST WAS NOT LEGIBLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD F-150. AFTER REFUELING THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT NOTICED A STRONG FUEL ODOR INSIDE AND OUTSIDE THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS EVIDENCE OF A FUEL LEAK ONLY AFTER FUELING THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR ILLUMINATED INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO BE DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 07V278000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 155,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH AND COMING TO A STOP LIGHT, THE VEHICLE STALLED AND THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE FAILED AND THE MOTOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 123,000.
THE THREADS IN MY 07 FORD F 150 FOR MY SPARK PLUG IN ONE OF MY CYLINDER'S WENT BAD. AND MY PLUG LEAKED HIGH PRESSURE COMPRESSED HEATED EXHAUST. CAUSING MY IGNITION COIL TO PARTIALLY MELT. ITS RIGHT BELOW THE FUEL RAIL SENSOR TOO. ITS THE BIGGEST PAIN IN THE BUTT TO FIX. USED A HELICOIL. DIDN'T LAST TOO LONG. TRYING A MORE PERMANENT FIX NEXT. I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY GOING 70 WHEN THE PLUG BEGAN A VERY NOTICEABLY LOUD RHYTHMIC LEAK WITH THE IGNITION OF THAT CYLINDER. ALSO, WHEN I SAW THE PROBLEM WHEN I LOOKED AT THE SPARK PLUG. IT HAD ALREADY HAD AN EXISTING HELICOIL PUT IN. AND YOU COULD TELL THIS HAPPEND WAY BEFORE 200K MILES. BECAUSE THE OLD SPARK PLUG WAS WORN ALMOST ALL THE WAY DOWN. I STILL HAVE THE OLD SPARK PLUG.
SHIFTER WON'T COME OUT OF PARKING. I HAVE RESEARCHED AND MANY PEOPLE HAVE REPORTED THE SAME ISSUE WITH FORD F150. SERVICE MANAGER SAID SHIFTER SENSOR WAS NOT WORKING.
ENGINE WAS REPLACED IN 2011 UNDER WARRANTY AT 51,864 MILES. NOW AT 105,662 THIS ENGINE IS DOING THE SAME THING. THERE IS DEFIANTLY A PROBLEM WITH THE ENGINES. FORD NEEDS TO RECOGNIZE AND ACKNOWLEDGE AND FIX THIS ISSUE WITH THEIR PRODUCT. IF YOUR ENGINE DOES NOT WORK CORRECTLY, HOW CAN YOUR FORD BE - FORD TOUGH!
POWER WINDOWS, RADIO, WIRE HARNESS IMPROPER DESIGN CAUSING SHORTAGE IN THE HARNESS. POTENTIAL SAFETY HARNESS DUE TO THIS MANUFACTURING DEFECT.
I HAVE HAD SEVERAL ELECTRICAL FAILURES ON THIS VEHICLE AFTER BUYING IT NEW IN OCTOBER 2007, IN OCTOBER 2009 THE CIGARETTE LIGHTER STOPPED WORKING WAS REPAIRED AND AGAIN MONTHS LATER STOPPED WORKING. THE WINDOWS STOPPED WORKING A TOTAL OF SIX TIMES WITH THREE OF THOSE BEING THIS YEAR. I HAVE TAKEN MY CAR IN TO BE REPAIRED A TOTAL OF THREE TIMES THIS YEAR ALONE AND THE LAST TIME , ABOUT FOUR OR FIVE WEEKS AGO I INSTRUCTED THE WORKER TO JUST LET THE WINDOWS UP AND DISCONNECT THEM AFTER BEING TOLD THAT I NEEDED A COMPLETE NEW WIRING HARNESS WHICH WERE NO LONGER AVAILABLE. I WAS TOLD THAT THE WIRING WAS BRITTLE AND THAT THIS WAS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE F 150. I FEEL THAT THIS COULD POSE A DANGER IN AN EMERGENCY ESCAPE SITUATION AS WELL AS OTHER PROBLEMS. THIS PROBLEM ALSO INVOLVE THE ELECTRONIC LOCKING SYSTEM WHICH IS A GREAT SAFETY HAZARD, I CAN GET NO REAL RESPONSE FROM FORD.
THE FAILURES STEM FROM BAD OIL FLOW TO THE TOP END OF THE ENGINE DUE TO A FLAW IN DESIGN. SPECIFICALLY MY CAMSHAFT, CAM PHASER, TIMING COMPONENTS AND LIFTERS ROLLERS HAVE FAILED. THE PROBLEM FIRST SHOWED UP AT 42256 MILES AND HAS SINCE RESURFACED TWICE EVEN AFTER EXPENSIVE REPAIRS. THE WORRISOME PART IS THAT THE WEB IS FILLED WITH THOUSANDS UPON THOUSANDS OF SIMILAR COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS ENGINE WHICH IS ALSO IN EXPEDITIONS AND CROWN VICTORIAS AND PROBABLY OTHER FORD VEHICLES.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE CAM PHASERS FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 132,000.
2007 FORD F-150. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO VEHICLE PASSENGER ASSIST HANDLE BROKE OFF. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED HIS WIFE FELL WHILE ATTEMPTING TO ENTER THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. SHE WAS USING THE PASSENGER ASSIST HANDLE LOCATED AT THE POST BETWEEN THE DOOR AND THE WINDSHIELD. SHE HAD ONE FOOT ON THE RUNNING BOARD AND HAD JUST STARTED USING THE ASSIST HANDLE TO ENTER THE VEHICLE WHEN THE ASSIST HANDLE BROKE OFF AND SENT HER BACK FROM THE VEHICLE. FORTUNATELY, SHE STILL HAD ONE FOOT ON THE GROUND AND WAS ABLE TO CATCH HERSELF AND WAS NOT HURT. THE PART WAS REPLACED AT A COST OF $ 213.86. *JB
MY EXHAUST MANIFOLD STARTED LEAKING AROUND 70000 MILES. IT IS TO THE POINT NOW THAT I CAN'T EVEN DRIVE MY TRUCK. I BOUGHT IT USED AND IT STARTED ABOUT 2 YEARS AFTER I BOUGHT IT.
CRACKED OR WARPED EXHAUST MANIFOLD. I'VE HAD IT LOOKED AT BY TWO AUTO MECHANICS AND HAVE READ ONLINE WITH THIS WIDESPREAD PROBLEM.
WHILE ACCELERATING TO ENTER THE HIGHWAY A LOUD POP SOUND WAS HEARD AND THE ENGINE LOST POWER. I HAD ENOUGH SPEED TO MAKE THE BREAK-DOWN LANE. THE SOUND WAS COMING FROM THE #3 CYLINDER ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE MOTOR. 4.6L V8. THESE WERE FACTORY PLUGS AND THE VEHICLE IS MAINTAINED EVERY 3000-5000 MILES.
VEHICLE HAS STARTED TO JERK AROUND 40-50 MPH. REVIEWS STATES THE SPARK PLUGS AND COILS ARE THE ISSUES. WANTED TO CHANGE OUT SPARK PLUGS, BUT UNDERSTAND THE PLUGS BREAKS UPON REMOVAL AND VERY EXPENSIVE TO FIX. KNOW ISSUE BY FORD MOTOR COMPANY. NOW I DON'T EVEN WANT TO ATTEMPT CHANGING OUT THE PLUGS. THIS ISSUE SHOULD BE RECALL OR PAID BY FORD FOR REPLACEMENT, SINCE THIS ISSUE IS KNOW BY FORD. ISSUE IS STILL ONGOING, HELP, DON'T WANT TO PAY $1000 FOR A SIMPLY MAINTENANCE.
UPON SPEEDING UP FROM A STOP THE VEHICLE STUTTERED AND STALLED. I COASTED TO A PARKING LOT AND TRIED TO RESTART. THE ENGINE WOULD CRANK BUT NO ATTEMPT TO START. AFTER SEVERAL TRIES I STOPPED. UPON CHECKING INTERNET FOR PROBLEMS DISCOVERED MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE FUEL PUMP DRIVER MODULE RUSTING AND FAILING SUDDENLY. I CHECKED MODULE AND IT WAS RUSTED THROUGH. I REPLACED MODULE AND TRUCK NOW RUNS FINE. I NOTICED THAT THE MOUNTING BOLTS HAVE CHANGED ALLOWING SPACE BETWEEN MODULE AND CROSS MEMBER. OBVIOUSLY THIS IS AN ISSUE AS THE PART MOUNT HAS CHANGED. IF THIS SUDDEN FAILURE WOULD HAVE OCCURRED AT HIGH SPEED SERIOUS PROBLEMS MAY HAVE RESULTED. THIS IS A FORD ISSUE IN DESIGN THAT SHOULD BE ADDRESSED AND FIXED BY FORD.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE DRIVESHAFT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 99,000.
IN APRIL 2015 I BEGAN EXPERIENCING ENGINE KNOCKING ON MY 2007 FORD F-150 WHICH HAD 57,532 MILES ON IT. I TOOK IT TO FORD SERVICE DEPARTMENT AND ENDED UP SPENDING $3,080.79 TO REPLACE CAMSHAFT, SOLENOID, AND TIMING CHAINS. I WAS TOLD THIS WORK WAS GUARANTEED. NOW, LESS THAN 7 MONTHS LATER AT 61,452 MILES I BEGAN HEARING SQUEAKING AS I DRIVE. TOOK IT BACK TO FORD AND THEY TELL ME IT IS NOW THE HARMONIC BALANCER IS OUT AND EXCESSIVE CRANK SHAFT END PLAY. I AM TOLD THAT THE ISSUE IS NOT RELATED TO THE PRIOR REPAIR WORK SO I WILL HAVE TO SPEND ANOTHER $3,000 OR MORE TO FIX THIS ISSUE. THIS IS ALL AFTER I SPENT OVER $300 IN DECEMBER 2014 TO REPLACE THE INGNITION COILS. I DRIVE MOSTLY CITY DRIVING. WE PICKED UP VEHICLE WITHOUT REPAIRING IT THIS TIME SO WE COULD FIGURE OUT WHAT TO DO.
WENT TO HAVE TRUCK TUNED UP--MECHANIC WOULD NOT EVEN TOUCH SPARK PLUGS BECAUSE THEY BREAK OFF AND THE ENTIRE HEAD HAS TO BE REMOVED FOR REPAIR. TOLD US TUNE UP WOULD BE VERY EXPENSIVE AND IF THEY BROKE IT WOULD BE EVEN HIGH. FROM WHAT I WAS TOLD IF SPARK PLUG IS BAD IT CAN RESULT IN FAILURE OF CATALYTIC CONVERT AND RESULT IN A CAR FIRE. WILL IT TAKE A DEATH BEFORE FORD DOES A RECALL HOW DO CONSUMERS MAINTAIN A VEHICLE WHEN AND AUTHORIZED MECHANIC WILL NOT DO THE WORK. *TR

TRUCK JERKS AND JUMPS BECAUSE THE CYLINDERS AREN'T FIRING. JUST SPENT $1000 FOR NEW PLUGS A FEW MONTHS AGO. I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE SEVERAL COILS IN THE LAST 3 YEARS. PROBLEMS STARTED AROUND 100K MILES. *TR
I BOUGHT THIS TRUCK IN 2015 HAD 120,000 MILES ON IT NOW PROBLEMS AFTER 5,000 MILES I NOTICED A KNOCKING IN THE ENGINE AND THE WHOLE TRUCK WILL BEGIN TO SHAKE AFTER A FEW MILES DOWN THE ROAD. THIS STARTED AT 125,000 MILES. I WOULD HAVE TO TURN THE TRUCK OFF AND TURN IT BACK ON, WHILE AT A STOP LIGHT. JUST RECENTLY MY WIFE AND I TOOK A TRIP OUT OF STATE WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY THE ENGINE STARED TO KNOCK AND TRUCK BEGAN TO SHAKE. I HAD TO PULL OVER TURN THE TRUCK OFF AND TURN IT BACK ON. HAVE TO DO THIS THREE TIMES ON OUR TRIP, NOT A HAPPY TRIP IN THE TRUCK. AFTER OUR TRIP THE I CALLED FORD MOTOR COMPANY AND TOLD THEM WHAT WAS HAPPENING WITH THE TRUCK THEY TOLD ME IT WAS NOT THERE PROBLEM AND WOULD NOT PAY TO HAVE IT FIXED. I TOOK MY TRUCK TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO TOLD ME THAT IT WAS THE CAM SENSOR OR CAM PHASOR. TO HAVE IT REPLACED WOULD COST ME $4,000. I TOOK THE TRUCK TO A FORD DEALERSHIP THAT TOLD ME THE SAME THING THE MECHANIC SAID AND THAT THEY WOULD CHARGE ME $2,000 TO REPLACE. THEY ALSO INFORMED THE THAT MOST OF THE 2007 F150 THAT COME ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. I HAVE LET IT SIT IN MY GARAGE TILL FORD DOES A RECALL. I AM NOT PAYING FOR THERE MISTAKE FOR SHODDY WORK.

POWER WINDOWS STOPPED WORKING ENTIRELY. AT ALL SWITCHES. NO POWER TO THEM. WIRES IN DOOR JAM FOR POWER WINDOWS RUBBED TILL THEY BROKE. LEAVING NO POWER TO ANY WINDOW AT ANY SWITCH. COST $ 370.00 FOR FORD TO DIAGNOSE AND FIX BROKEN WIRES RIGHT WHERE MECHANIC KNEW THEY WERE BROKE BEFORE LOOKING.. THIS IS A RECURRING PROBLEM IN THESE TRUCKS AND FORD SHOULD OWN UP TO IT AND FIX THEM FREE OF CHARGE. I HAVE ALWAYS OWNED FORDS BUT AFTER THIS EPISODE WITH THE DEALERSHIP. NOT TO HAPPY......CHECKED INTERNET. MANY REPORTS OF THIS EXACTLY AS IT HAPPENED AND IN SAME AREA OF VEHICLE..HAVE SEEN MANY COMPLAINTS SAME PROBLEM, SAME FIX, SAME PLACE, SIMILAR COSTS TO CUSTOMER...NOT RIGHT. FORD IS FULLY AWARE OF THIS AND DOESN'T CARE. COULD HAVE CAUSED A FIRE. HAD A BURNT SMELL. *TR
I'VE HAD THE SPARK PLUG BLOW OUT IN CYLINDER 6 TWICE WHILE DRIVING AT ABOUT 55MPH. MY HUSBAND HAD HIS IN 2008 F150 ALSO. I'VE HAD TO HAVE THE PLUGS REPLACED 2X. JUST WAITING FOR THE FUEL MODULE AND STEERING TO GO AS NOTED IN OTHER NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2007 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE ATTEMPTING TO START THE VEHICLE, THE ENGINE EXPLODED AND CAUGHT FIRE. THE INSURANCE COMPANY INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND FOUND THAT THE FIRE INITIATED AT THE MOTOR HELI COIL. WHEN FUEL PENETRATED THE HELI COIL, MOTOR, AND SPARK PLUGS, IT CAUSED THE ENGINE TO EXPLODE. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT SUFFERED BURNS AND CUTS TO THE LEFT HAND. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 125,000.
THE ENGINE WAS REPLACED IN 2012 WITH 53,000 MILES ON THE TRUCK DUE TO A SIGNIFICANT KNOCKING COMING FROM THE ENGINE. THE TRUCK WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY SO IT COST ME NOTHING TO REPLACE. THE ENGINE STARTED TO MAKE THE SAME SOUND IN FEB 2015 (84,000 MILES ON THE TRUCK, 30,000 MILES ON THE ENGINE). I HAD IT TAKEN TO AN AUTO MECH AND THEY TOLD ME ONE OF THE SPARK PLUGS EJECTED FROM THE ENGINE AND RIPPED ALL THE THREADING OUT. THEY ALSO FOUND THAT ON E OF THE CYLINDERS BROKE OFF THE CRANK SHAFT AND CEASED. THE ENGINE HAS TO BE REPLACED AGAIN AND THE TRUCK IS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY. BOTH THE ORIGINAL DEALERSHIP THAT REPLACED THE ENGINE AND THE AUTO MECH THAT I HAD THE TRUCK TAKEN TO, ARE RESEARCHING IF THE PARTS ARE STILL UNDER WARRANTY.
OVER THE PAST SIX WEEKS, I HAVE ENCOUNTERED THREE EVENTS IN WHICH MY VEHICLE WAS ACCELERATING WHILE I HAD MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE. THE FIRST TIME, THE TRUCK WAS ATTEMPTING TO PULL FORWARD, VIBRATING, AND REVVING THE ENGINE WHILE I WAS STOPPED AT A LIGHT .I THOUGHT IT WAS A FLUKE OR AN ERROR ON MY PART AND DISREGARDED IT. THE SECOND AND THIRD TIME, I WAS TRYING TO SLOW DOWN FOR THE LIGHT WITH VEHICLES AHEAD OF ME. INSTEAD OF STOPPING AS I WAS DEPRESSING THE BRAKE, THE ENGINE BEGAN TO REV AND PULL FORWARD. I DEPRESSED MY BRAKES TO FLOOR AND THE TRUCK STOPPED BUT THE ENGINE CONTINUED TO REV AND ATTEMPT TO PULL FORWARD WITH THE BRAKE ON. FORD COMPANY AND MY DEALERSHIP, OF COURSE, DENIED ANY PROBLEMS EVEN AFTER I CITED SEVERAL CASES IN WHICH THIS OCCURRED WITH OTHER CARS. THEY SAID SOMETIMES SENSORS GO OUT AND THEY SHOULD NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR IT BUT WERE HAPPY TO DO A DIAGNOSIS FOR $100. I SEE SEVERAL COMPLAINTS REGARDING THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL SYSTEMS COMPARED TO THE NEW BRAKE OVERRIDE SYSTEMS AND AM TOTALLY UNNERVED THAT FORD WILL NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS. I AM CONCERNED ABOUT DRIVING THE TRUCK WITH ONLY 45,000 MILES ON IT. I FEAR THAT ANY MOMENT, MY TRUCK IS GOING TO ACCELERATE INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE WHILE MY FOOT IS ON THE BRAKE. I WILL NEVER BUY A FORD AGAIN--A TOTAL DISREGARD FOR CONSUMER SAFETY. *TR
WHILE DRIVING ON A NEW YORK INTERSTATE AT APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH IN A SNOW STORM, MY TRUCK STARTED TO MISS. IT THEN SLOWED DOWN AND SHUT OFF. I DID NOT HAVE ENOUGH TIME TO MAKE IT TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. A TRUCK STOPPED AND I HAD HIM PUSH MY TRUCK TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, CAUSING ME TO HAVE DAMAGE TO MY TRUCK. FOUND OUT THAT THE FUEL PUMP DRIVER MODULE FAILED. IT IS LOCATED ABOVE THE SPARE TIRE AND DUE TO A DESIGN ERROR, WATER AND ROAD SALT GET TRAPPED BETWEEN MODULE AND MOUNTING BRACE. IT ERODES OUT FROM THE BOTTOM SIDE AND THE MOUNTING BRACKET. WHEN REPLACED, WAS INFORMED THAT IT IS A REDESIGNED COMPONENT, LIFTING IT AWAY FROM MOUNTING BRACKET. IF I HAD NOT HAD ENOUGH ROOM BETWEEN ME AND THE TRACTOR TRAILER TRAVELING BEHIND ME, OR IF I HAD ANOTHER VEHICLE TRAVELING NEXT TO ME, IT COULD BE A TOTAL DIFFERENT OUTCOME. I KNOW FOR A FACT, THAT PART COMPONENT IS EXTENDED IN STATES WHERE THERE IS A HIGH RISK OF SALT CORROSION, AND BELIEVE THAT A SAFETY ISSUE LIKE THIS SHOULD BE ONE OF THEM. SITTING ON A HIGHWAY IN A SNOW STORM IS ALWAYS DANGEROUS. *TR

3 OUT OF 8 SPARK PLUGS HAVE BLOWN OUT OF HEAD IH MOTOR. THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM AFTER RESEARCHING SEVERAL OTHER MAKES AND MODELS OF ALL FORD VEHICLES. I HAVE SEARCHED FOR RECALL INFORMATION FROM FAULTY DESIGN WITH NO LUCK. *TR
WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AT 75MPH A WARNING LIGHT CAME ON SAYING TRANSMISSION FAULT. THE OVERDRIVE LIGHT WAS FLASHING. THE TRUCK CONTINUED TO DRIVE NORMALLY BUT THE WARNING INDICATORS KEPT GOING ON. THERE WERE NO CODES WHEN IT WAS TAKEN TO THE SHOP ALTHOUGH THE SHOP SAID THEY HAVE A RETAINING CLIP THAT WEARS OUT AND CAUSES ALL THE PARTS TO SHIFT. THIS RESULTED IN HAVING TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION. FORD NEEDS TO RECALL THE DEFECTIVE PARTS. MANY OTHER F 150 OWNERS HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. THE DRIVER WAS WEARING A SEAT BELT; HOWEVER, HE WAS EJECTED FROM THE VEHICLE THROUGH THE REAR DRIVER SIDE WINDOW. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED FATAL INJURIES. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 64,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
