TAKATA RECALL- MY VEHICLE IS APPROACHING THE 2ND ANNIVERSARY SINCE THE TAKATA AIRBAG SAFETY RECALL AND A REMEDY IS STILL NOT AVAILABLE. A LETTER I RECEIVED FROM THE MANUFACTURER, RECOMMENDED I NOT TRANSPORT FRONT SEAT PASSENGERS. THIS IS UNREALISTIC AND UNPRACTICAL, BUT I DO NOT FEEL CONFIDENT TRUSTING THE SAFETY OF MY FAMILY AND ACQUAINTANCES WITH THE AIRBAG SYSTEM ISSUES THIS VEHICLE HAS.
PROBLEMS WITH THE RADIO DOES NOT WORK.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE FUEL FIELD INLET INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. FIVE DAYS LATER, THE CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE LOCAL DEALER (ALL STAR FORD 3800 CENTURY WAY PITTSBURGH, CA 94565) WAS CALLED AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE FUEL FIELD INLET FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT ENOUGH COMPLAINTS HAD NOT BEEN FILED ON THAT COMPONENT TO CREATE A RECALL, AND OFFERED NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 200,000.
THE VEHICLE WILL BREAK ON ITS OWN, WITHOUT ANY WARNING. THIS HAS OCCURRED SEVERAL TIMES OVER THE PAST FEW YEARS. IT USUALLY OCCURS WHEN TRAVELING AT LOWER SPEEDS. 40 MPH AND LOWER. I HAVE NOT HAD ANY INCIDENTS ON THE FREEWAY, JUST ON THE HIGHWAY AND MOUNTAIN ROADS. NO CODES COME UP. THE STABILITY CONTROL LIGHT MAY COME ON BUT IT GOES AWAY.
AIRBAG LIGHTS FOR DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDES RANDOMLY COME ON WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS. DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE SEAT BELTS ARE RANDOMLY LOCKING DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS. ENGINE CODE FOR FAULTY SEAT BELT TENSIONER SENSOR FOR PASSENGER SIDE.
I OWN A 2010 FORD F-150 FX4 4X4 5.4L PICK UP. THE INTERMEDIATE STEERING SHAFT WAS BINDING UP, CAUSING A HEAVY STEERING CONDITION, STEERING NOT RETURNING TO CENTER AFTER TURNING AND A BINDING CONDITION. THE PART WAS REPLACED AT APPROXIMATELY 36K MILES BY WASHINGTON FORD IN WASHINGTON PA. APPROX 2 YEARS HAVE PASSED AND AT 63K MILES EXPERIENCING THE SAME CONDITIONS WITH FORD REPLACEMENT PART. TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO WASHINGTON FORD IN WASHINGTON, PA FOR DIAGNOSIS ON 5/4/17. SERVICE DEPARTMENT COULD NOT DETECT OR DIAGNOSE AN ISSUE. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A LOCAL REPAIR CENTER ON 5/16/17 WHERE TECH DETERMINED THAT THERE WAS A BINDING ISSUE WITH THE REPLACEMENT PART. AN AFTER MARKET PART HAS BEEN ORDERED FOR REPLACEMENT. AFTER A LONG SEARCH AT LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIPS FOR THE PART IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT A NUMBER OF FORD PARTS DEALERS AS WELL AS BIG BOX PARTS HOUSES HAVE THE REPLACEMENT PARTS ON BACK ORDER. WOLTZ AND WIND FORD IN CARNEGIE WAS REPORTING TO ME A 40 QUANTITY BACK ORDER FOR THE PART. MANY COMPLAINTS OBSERVED ONLINE. APPEARS TO BE A SAFETY CONCERN WITH NUMEROUS OWNERS ONLINE. PLEASE ADVISE. SINGLE OWNER 2010 FORD F-150 FX4 WITH 58,000 MILES AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT. I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE FREEWAY (I-10 IN PHX) AT ROUGHLY 70 MPH DURING RUSH HOUR WHEN SUDDENLY THE TRUCK LURCHED AS IF I HAD JUST DRIVEN THROUGH A DEEP PUDDLE. A FEW SECONDS LATER AS I WAS LOOKING IN MY REAR VIEW MIRROR THE REAR WHEELS LOCKED UP AND THE TRUCK BEGAN SKIDDING UNCONTROLLABLY; THERE WERE 3 TO 4 DISTINCT SKIDS LASTING APPROXIMATELY 1 TO 2 SECONDS AT A TIME AS I RECALL. LUCKILY FOR ME THE SEMI-DRIVER BEHIND ME WAS PAYING PROPER ATTENTION TO THE ROAD AND NOTICED ME SKIDDING TO A HALT DESPITE THE ABSENCE OF BREAK LIGHTS. HE SWERVED AND NARROWLY MISSED REAR-ENDING MY VEHICLE AT FULL HIGHWAY SPEED. AFTER THE SEMI PASSED I BEGAN TO LIMP OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE FREEWAY GOING ABOUT 25 MPH AT THIS POINT, AND I RECALL A FEW MORE JERKY UPSHIFTS AND DOWNSHIFTS WHILE PULLING OVER. BY THE TIME MY TRUCK WAS ON THE SIDE OF THE FREEWAY THE DASHBOARD WRENCH INDICATOR WAS ON AND PRESSING THE GAS PEDDLE HAD NO EFFECT. THE TRUCK HAD DISCONNECTED THE THROTTLE SENSOR INPUT FROM THE FUEL INJECTORS. AFTER WEIGHING MY OPTIONS FOR ABOUT 10 MINUTES I DECIDED TO TURN THE TRUCK OFF AND BACK ON. UPON DOING SO THE WRENCH INDICATOR WAS GONE, AND THE TRUCK APPEARED TO WORK NORMALLY. SINCE THEN I HAVE DRIVEN THE TRUCK (CAUTIOUSLY AND ON HIGH ALERT) ANOTHER 1,500 MILES AND EVERYTHING HAS PERFORMED NOMINALLY. I HAVE HAD NO OTHER SIGNIFICANT INCIDENTS WITH THE VEHICLE PRIOR TO THIS ONE, NOR HAVE I NOTICED ANYTHING OUT OF THE NORM PRIOR TO THIS INCIDENT. AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT I HAD BEEN DRIVING AT SIMILAR SPEEDS FOR ABOUT 20 MINUTES. THE ROAD CONDITIONS WERE BOTH DRY AND VERY SMOOTH AND THE TEMPERATURE OUTSIDE WAS LOW 80S AT THE TIME. THE DEALERSHIP HAS HAD MY VEHICLE FOR 2 DAYS AND AFTER A FULL DIAGNOSIS THEY HAVE NO CLEAR EXPLANATION OR FIX FOR THIS POTENTIALLY FATAL MALFUNCTION.
BRAKES DID NOT WORK WITHOUT WARNING AS FORD F150 2010 PULLED FROM THE DRIVEWAY. PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED TO THE FLOOR WITHOUT ANY BRAKE FUNCTION OR WARNING LIGHT. STOPPED THE TRUCK WITH PARKING BRAKE. TRUCK HAD TO BE TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP. BRAKES WORKED HOURS BEFORE IN TRAFFIC. THE DEALERSHIP EXCHANGED THE MASTER BRAKE CYLINDER AND THE BRAKE BOOSTER, IN WHICH THE BRAKE CYLINDER LEAKED FLUID INTO.
TRUCK WAS STATIONARY AT A RED LIGHT WHEN THERE WAS AN EXPLOSION. THE BACK PASSENGER WINDOW SHATTERED. THERE WAS NO INDICATION OF A ROCK HIT. NO OTHER CARS WERE AROUND ME TO THROW UP A STONE. I HAD THE REAR DEFROST ON WHEN IT HAPPENED.
WHEN TRUCK HAS 1/4 OR LESS FUEL IN THE FUEL TANK IT STALLS AND THERE IS LOST POWER. MOSTLY HAPPENS WHEN COMING TO A STOP AND WHEN I MAKE A TURN AFTER TAKING MY FOOT FROM ACCELERATOR TO BRAKE . THIS IS DANGEROUS BECAUSE ALL BRAKING AND STEERING IS LOST .WHILE LOOKING ON THE WEB THERE WERE MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS .
DRIVE SHAFT PROBLEM PLUS AFTER RUNNING A FEW HOURS NO RUNS
NOTICED ABNORMAL TIRE WEAR ON FRONT TIRES. TOOK VEHICLE TO SHOP TO HAVE TIRES ROTATED AND ALIGNMENT CHECKED. A SAFETY CHECK REVEALED BOTH FRONT COIL SPRINGS WERE BROKEN.(SEE PHOTOS) FRACTURE OCCURRED AT THE TRANSITION FROM TIGHT RADIUS (PIGTAIL) AT THE BOTTOM, TO LARGER RADIUS. THE SPRING THEN BOWED OUT OF COLUMN AND STARTED RUBBING THE STRUT BODY. VEHICLE PREVIOUSLY HAD A SAFETY CHECK AT THE SAME SHOP AT 47726 MILES ON 1-20-2016 WITH NO SPRING DEFECT NOTED. DEFECT WAS NOTED AT 60800 MILES ON 4-13-17. REPORT GENERATED BY ORIGINAL OWNER. LEFT SPRING FAILURE WAS NOT NOTICED BUT RIGHT FAILURE MAY HAVE OCCURRED WHEN ENCOUNTERING NORMAL POTHOLE THAT CREATED A STARTLING BANG NOT COMMENSURATE WITH THE DEPTH OF THE STREET DEFECT. OWNER DID NOT NOTICE ANY STEERING WHEEL DISPLACEMENT ASSOCIATED WITH A WHEEL MISALIGNMENT. OWNERS CONCERNS. 1) VEHICLE WAS LESS THAT 7 YEARS IN SERVICE LESS THAT 61000 MILES. 2) ESSENTIALLY A SILENT FAILURE, FIRST CLUE WAS ABNORMAL TIRE WEAR. 3) MODE OF FAILURE COULD ALLOW SPRING TO PASS OVER PERCH CAUSING SUDDEN COMPLETE COLLAPSE OF THAT CORNER SUSPENSION. 4) IF SPRING REMAINS IN PLACE, RUBBING ON STRUT BODY WILL CAUSE FAILURE OF THE STRUT ITSELF AFFECTING HANDLING. ABOUT APRIL 2017 I NOTICED A TICKING NOISE COMING FROM THE ENGINE AREA OF MY TRUCK. I ALSO NOTICED HESITATION WHEN I ACCELERATE AND MY FUEL ECONOMY HAS DROPPED. THERE IS A DISTINCT JERKING SENSATION WHEN DRIVING. MY CONCERN IS THAT THE VEHICLE DOES NOT WANT TO ACCELERATE IN CERTAIN GEARS AND I FEEL THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN. MY TRUCK HAS THE FORD 5.4L V8 ENGINE AND UPON MY OWN RESEARCH, THIS ENGINE IS NOTORIOUS FOR THE CAM PHASER GOING BAD, ALONG WITH OTHER RELATED ISSUES.
ENGINE STALLS FOR NO REASON.
THE INSIDE PASSENGER DOOR HANDLE BROKE LEAVING THE DOOR UNABLE TO OPEN FROM THE INSIDE. FORD STATES THAT IT IS NOT COVERED UNDER THE WARRANTY. I SAID IT IS AN ABSOLUTE SAFETY HAZARD AS THE PASSENGER IS UNABLE TO EXIT THE VEHICLE IN AN EMERGENCY AND ANY REPAIR SHOULD BE COVERED UNDER THE MANUFACTURER WARRANTY.
FUEL PUMP RELAY FUSE MELTED. 2010 F-150 2 WD V8, WAS DRIVING AND PULLING A TRAILER (WITHIN THE VEHICLE'S PARAMETERS WEIGHT WISE, I.E. NOT OVERLOADED, AND IN FACT IT CONTINUED WITH THE EMPTY TRAILER) AND THE TRUCK BEGAN STALLING RANDOMLY, USUALLY WHEN GOING UP A HILL. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AS I WAS HAULING VALUABLE HORSES UP HILLY ROADS AT THE TIME. I HAD IT REPAIRED AT A LOCAL DEALERSHIP (CRAIN FORD, LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS 501-570-3737) WHICH INVOLVED MOVING THE FUSE TO A DIFFERENT SPOT. IT SEEMS TO BE ACTING UP AGAIN AFTER LESS THAN A WEEK. I PAID A LOT OF MONEY TO "FIX" IT AND IT NEEDS TO STAY FIXED!

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT A MISFIRE ON THE CYLINDER REQUIRED ALL THE VALVES TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 114,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES, BUT DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 61,250.
PASSENGER SIDE BLEND DOOR MOTOR AND HAVC MODULE. I WAS BY A FORD REP. THE MENTIONED PARTS HAVE CHRONIC FAILURES WHICH LEAD TO COSTLY REPAIRS. THIS WAS VERIFIED BY A TWO WEEK BACK ORDER FOR THE HAVC MODULE.
WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND NOTICED THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE REAR WINDOW SMOKING. BEFORE I COULD PULL OVER, THE WINDOW EXPLODED AND THE ENTIRE RIGHT SIDE WAS SHATTERED. MY SON WAS SITTING IN THE SEAT DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF IT. UPON FURTHER INSPECTION, I NOTICED WHERE THE RUBBER SEAL AROUND THE WINDOW WAS MELTED FROM BURNING, AND THERE WAS LIQUID DRAINING FROM THE AREA. I WAS TRAVELING TO TAKE MY KIDS TO SCHOOL AND HAD MY REAR DEFOGGER IN USE. I HAVE NOTICED NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS ISSUE FROM OTHERS, BUT FORD HAS NOT ISSUED A RECALL. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE CONTACT ACTIVATED THE REAR DEFROSTER AND THE REAR WINDOW FRACTURED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 33,000.
BACK WINDOW PASSENGER ( SLIDING BACK GLASS UNIT) SHATTERED AFTER APPROXIMATELY 12 MINUTES AFTER TURNING ON REAR DEFROSTER. THE TEMPERATURE WAS 34F WITH NO FROST ON BACK WINDOW. IT SOUNDED LIKE A SMALL GUNSHOT WHEN IT HAPPENED. AFTER SPEAKING WITH THE DEALER I FOUND OUT THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM. FORD REFUSES TO FIX THE PROBLEM. ESTIMATED COST FROM THE DEALER ARE $700+.
WITH THE REAR DEFROST ON THE BACK GLASS EXPLODED WHILE DRIVING. *TR
TRANSMISSION SLIPS OUT OF GEAR AT TIMES. OCCASIONALLY IT DOWNSHIFTS AND THE TRUCK SLOWS DOWN FAST, OTHER TIMES IT FEELS LIKE IT JUST SLIPS OUT OF GEAR ALTOGETHER INTO NEUTRAL, THEN THE ENGINE RPMS GO HIGH AND THE TRUCK SLOWS DOWN. BOTH TIMES, WHEN THE TRANSMISSION GOES BACK INTO GEAR, IT CREATES A LARGE THUMP SOUND AND THE TRUCK JUMPS, OCCASIONALLY SPINNING MY TIRES. THIS HAPPENS BOTH WHILE DRIVING ON THE ROAD AND WHILE DRIVING FROM A STOP SIGN/LIGHT AND HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES SINCE I HAVE OWNED THE TRUCK. AT LEAST 10 TO 15 TIMES PER MONTH.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH A ROCKER ARM OR ROD MALFUNCTION. THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED THAT THE MOTOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, THE VEHICLE WAS CURRENTLY AT THE INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED TO CALL NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
REPLACED FACTORY FRONT PADS WITH AUTO PARTS PADS. THEN HAD ROTORS TURNED. BLED ALL FOUR WHEELS BECAUSE OF AIR IN ONE CALIPER. WORKED WELL FOR FEW MONTHS THEN HEARD SQUEALING NOISE. I CHECKED BRAKES AND BOTH WHEELS HAD BEEN WORN OUT SAME SIDES OF PADS BADLY. ONE EDGE OF OUTSIDE OF PADS ON BOTH WHEELS TOTALLY WARN OUT. MY DRIVER SIDE ROTOR DAMAGED AND HAD SOME CRACKS. I TOOK PADS TO AUTO PARTS SALESMAN SAID COMMON ON THOSE 150'S. I LOOKED UP INTERNET IF ANY OTHER OWNER HAD SAME PROBLEMS AND THIS IS A YES. THAT OWNER NEW HOW TO CHECK AND VERIFY PROBLEM AND TOLD HIS DEALER. DEALER FIXED PROBLEM FOR FREE. PROBLEM BAD FRONT CALIPER HOSES, ESPECIALLY PASSENGER SIDE. I TOLD MY DEALER. THEY SAID NO RECALL. ON JANUARY 7, 2017, THE TEMPERATURE OUTSIDE IN THE EVENING WAS AROUND 10 DEGREES FAHRENHEIT. I GOT INTO MY 2010 FORD F150M, STARTED IT ALLOWING THE ENGINE TO WARM THEN BEGAN DRIVING. THE SNOW WAS FALLING AND THEREFORE MY REAR WINDOW HAD A LIGHT AMOUNT OF SNOW ON IT AND WAS HARD TO SEE OUT OF. I TURNED ON MY REAR DEFROST FOR MY POWER SLIDING WINDOW, AND APPROXIMATELY TWO MINUTES LATER I HEARD A LOUD NOISE. I NOTICED A FEW MINUTES LATER MY LEFT REAR WINDOW PANEL WAS NOT DEFROSTING. I PARKED MY VEHICLE OVERNIGHT IN MY GARAGE AND IN THE MORNING REALIZED THE LEFT REAR WINDOW PANEL HAD BROKEN. UPON LOOKING AT IT FURTHER I FOUND THAT THERE WAS NO IMPACT FROM ANY OBJECT, AND THE GLASS FRAGMENTS WERE BEING HELD TOGETHER BY THE TINT. I BEGAN RESEARCHING FOR A PRICE TO GET MY WINDOW FIXED AND DISCOVERED HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE WINDOW EXPLODING WHEN USING THE DEFROST. THERE HAD BEEN NO DAMAGE TO THE WINDOW PRIOR TO THIS EVENING AND THERE WAS NO IMPACT TO THE WINDOW WHEN IT OCCURRED. THE WINDOW DEFROSTER WAS BEING OPERATED AS I HAVE IN MULTIPLE VEHICLES. AFTER RESEARCHING THIS, I FOUND IT WAS A VERY COMMON ISSUE. ON 1/11/17, I CONTACTED FORD MOTOR COMPANY AND FILED A COMPLAINT AND WAS TOLD TO BEING MY VEHICLE INTO A FORD SERVICE FACILITY FOR POTENTIAL GOODWILL ASSISTANCE. I WAS TOLD BY THE FORD MOTOR COMPANY REPRESENTATIVE THAT HAD HAD HEARD OF THIS GLASS BREAKAGE BEFORE HOWEVER FORD HAS NO RECALLS ON MY VEHICLE FOR THIS REPAIR. ON 1/12/17, THE SERVICE FACILITY INDICATED THE FORD REGIONAL REPRESENTATIVE WAS CONTACTED AND NO ASSISTANCE WILL BE PROVIDED. I AGAIN CONTACT THE FORD, BUT WAS TOLD THE REGIONAL REPRESENTATIVE MADE THE DECISION AND NOTHING MORE WOULD BE DONE. ON 1/13/17, I PAID $585 TO HAVE THE GLASS REPAIRED.

THE CONTACT COASTED INTO A PARKING LOT, WAITED A MINUTE, RESTARTED THE VEHICLE, AND RESUMED DRIVING. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH. THE FAILURE RECURRED TWICE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 197,664.
REOCCURRING ISSUE WITH TRANSMISSION FLUID LEAKAGE. MY 2010 FORD F-150 XLT SUPERCREW ENGINE 4.6 L AT 89K MILES WITH ALL ITS MAINTENANCE DONE LIKE CLOCKWORK AND DRIVEN LIKE A BABY REQUIRED ITS AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SEALS REPLACED (TRANSMISSION FLUID LEAKAGE AROUND THE TRANSMISSION BULKHEAD CONNECTOR SLEEVE) 01/02/17. THE DEALER SAID THAT THE CURRENT REPAIR IS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY AS THE TRUCK IS PASSED ITS 60K POWER TRAIN WARRANTY THAT PREVIOUS REPAIR COMPLETED BACK ON FEB 2015 (COMPLETED UNDER WARRANTY AS THE TRUCK HAD 57K MILES AT THE TIME). EVEN THOUGH THEY HAVE TO DO THE SAME THING AS BACK IN FEB 2015 WHERE THEY HAVE TO BRING THE TRANSMISSION DOWN AND RE-SEAL IT IN ADDITION TO THE NEW REPAIR OF THE TRANSMISSION BULKHEAD CONNECTOR SLEEVE. I CAN NOT UNDERSTAND WHY FORD AND ITS TECHS WHOM ARE AWARE OF THE TSB 14-0069 (ATTACHED) *A KNOWN ISSUE PRIOR TO 2014* DID NOT "REPLACE REPAIR" THIS PART BACK ON FEB 2015 SO THAT THE CUSTOMER WOULD NOT FIND HIMSELF IN THIS SITUATION WITH A $721.04 REPAIR BILL. I'M HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED AND DISSATISFIED WITH THE PURCHASE OF MY TRUCK I HAVE NEVER OWNED ANY VEHICLE THAT WITHIN 6 YEARS OR LESS THE TRANSMISSION AND DRIVE SHAFT HAD TO BE REPAIRED SO OFTEN (THIS F150 IS NOT USED COMMERCIALLY AND ITS WELL CARED FOR MAINTAINED). MY FAMILY AND I HAVE OWNED FORD'S AND HONDA'S IN THE PAST AND NEVER HAS ANYONE IN MY FAMILY AND I HAD TO REPLACE OR REPAIR SO OFTEN A TRANSMISSION. THIS IS NOT THE 1ST ISSUE I HAVE HAD WITH THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION OF MY TRUCK I HAD TAKEN IT IN TO DORAL LINCOLN WHILE IT WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY AS IT WAS JERKING ON GEAR CHANGES THEY LUBRICATED THE TRANSMISSION AND DRAFT SHAFT ADDITIONALLY I HAD THE DRIVE SHAFT COUPLER/BOOT REPLACED AT SAWGRASS FORD AS WELL IT WAS OUT OF WARRANTY THIS REPAIR COST ME $185.90 ON 09/17/2016.
WHEN APPLYING SYNC UPDATE CAUSED SEVERAL FAILURE CODES TO TRANSMISSION MODULE AND TRANSMISSION SERVO. SYNC MODULE NO LONGER WORKS AFTER APPLYING SOFTWARE UPDATE AND MUST BE REPLACED. ALL TRANSMISSION AND ENGINE CODES WERE CLEARED. I BELIEVE THE SYNC MODULE UPDATE CAUSED FAILURE CODES AND DESTROYED SYNC MODULE. FORD DEALERSHIP CANNOT EXPLAIN
WHILE DRIVING DOWN A CITY STREET, THE VEHICLE WAS SUDDENLY UNABLE TO STOP BECAUSE THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS PUSHED ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR WITH COMPLETE BRAKE LOSS, AND THE BRAKE FLUID WARNING LAMP SUDDENLY ILLUMINATED. THE EMERGENCY BRAKE WAS ABLE TO STOP ME AND ALLOW ME TO SAFELY PULL OVER. NO FLUID LEAKAGE WAS DISCOVERED UPON INITIAL LOOK BUT THE RESERVOIR WAS EMPTY. THE SOLUTION INVOLVED LOCATING THE MISSING BRAKE FLUID WHICH HAD LEAKED FROM THE MASTER CYLINDER INTO THE BRAKE BOOSTER, RESULTING IN THE BRAKE LOSS. UPON REPLACING THE DEFECTIVE MASTER CYLINDER AND BRAKE BOOSTER, THE BRAKES ARE OKAY NOW. THIS PROBLEM IS IDENTICAL TO THE SUMMARY IDENTIFIED UNDER INVESTIGATION PE-16-003 (SEE ATTACHED). *TR
NOTICED A FLUID LEAK WHEN VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN DRIVEWAY. DISCOVERED IT WAS RED TRANSMISSION FLUID COMING FROM THE TOP OF THE TRANSMISSION. THE ELECTRICAL PLUG TO THE TRANSMISSION IS WET. THE TRUCK IS BABIED AND VERY LIGHTLY USED WITH ONLY 19,311 MILES ON IT.
WHILE USING THE REAR WINDOW DEFROSTER, I HEARD A LOUD THUD. I LOOKED BACK AND SAW A SHATTERED REAR PASSENGER WINDOW. ALSO NOTICED SMOKE FROM LOWER CORNER. I WAS REVERSING OUT OF DRIVEWAY AT A SLOW RATE OF SPEED. OUTSIDE TEMP WAS 20F.
I WAS PARKED IN MY TRUCK, WARMING IT UP ON A ~10 DEGREE MORNING. THE BACK GLASS HAD A LAYER OF ICE AND I TURNED ON THE REAR DEFROST. A FEW MINUTES LATER, WHILE STILL PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY, I HEARD A LOUD POP. THE PASSENGER SIDE BACK GLASS WAS SHATTERED. IT IS A POWER SLIDING, TINTED BACK GLASS IN THREE SECTIONS.

THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT STAYS ON. AFTER CLOSING ALL DOORS REPEADTLY, THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR LIGHT SAYS ITS STILL AJAR. THE DANGEROUS PART IS THAT THE CAB LIGHTS STAY ON THE WHOLE TIME WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT. ALSO, WHEN DONE DRIVING AND AFTER LOCKING THE TRUCK, THE LIGHTS STILL STAY ON RUNNING DOWN THE BATTERY.
I LEFT HOME FOR WORK ON 12/8/2016. THE TEMP WAS 7 DEGREES OUT AND MY BACK WINDOW WAS SLIGHTLY ICED OVER. I TURNED THE REAR DEFROST ON TO CLEAR UP THE WINDOW. WITHIN TEN MINUTES I HEARD WHAT SOUNDED LIKE A GUN GOING OFF. UPON INSPECTION I REALIZED THAT MY REAR 3 PEACE WINDOW HAD SPIDER CRACKED INTO THOUSANDS OF PEACES. THE SOUND IT MADE SENT ME OFF THE ROAD TO A FRANTIC STOP. THIS WAS IN TOWN GOING 30MPH. I'M SO GLAD MY KIDS WEREN'T IN THE REAR SEAT AS THERE IS QUITE A BIT OF SMALL GLASS PEACES. THIS WILL SET ME BACK $600 AND I CANT IMAGINE EVER USING THE REAR DEFROST BUTTON AGAIN AS IT MIGHT BE A FAULTY SWITCH THAT CAUSED THIS OR A FAULTY WINDOW. IT SEEMS THE MORE I FIND ON THE INTERNET THE MORE I REALIZE THIS IS FAIRLY COMMON. FORD MOTOR CO.SHOULD REALLY DO SOMETHING!
ON A 20 DEGREE MORNING I TURNED ON THE REAR DEFROST AND IN ABOUT FIVE MINUTES TIME I HEAR A LOUD NOISE. UPON LOOKING AROUND I FOUND THE BACK WINDOW HAD SHATTERED ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. I WAS STATIONARY AT THE TIME, THANKFULLY, BECAUSE THE SOUND WAS A LOT LIKE A GUN BLAST AND IF DRIVING I COULD HAVE SWERVED, IT STARTLED ME SO MUCH. THE WINDOW IS SHATTERED INTO THOUSANDS OF PIECES AND VISIBILITY OUT OF THAT WINDOW IS SEVERELY HAMPERED. THIS IS AN OBVIOUS DESIGN FLAW AND IT EFFECTS THE SAFETY OF THE VEHICLE AND A RECALL SHOULD BE ISSUED. *TR

LEAKING WATER AT VEHICLE'S REAR DRIVER'S SIDE AND PASSENGER CORNERS. LEAKING WATER FROM PASSENGER'S SIDE HANDLE. WHILE VEHICLE WAS PARKED ON PRIVATE DRIVEWAY DURING MULTIPLE RAIN STORMS, IT WAS FOUND MULTIPLE TIMES THE TRUCK CAB WAS LEAKING PROFUSE AMOUNTS OF WATER FROM THE REAR CAB CORNERS AND FRONT PASSENGER SIDE HANDLE. WHEN RESEARCHING THIS DISCREPANCY, IT HAS BEEN FOUND THIS VERY PROBLEM HAS BEEN REPORTED MULTIPLE TIMES ACROSS THE COUNTRY. IT'S STATED THE LEAK IS MORE OFTEN THAN NOT FROM THE TRUCK'S 3RD BRAKE LIGHT, AND THE PASSENGER SIDE HANDLE LEAK IS FROM A LEAKING SATELLITE ANTENNAE. THIS HAZARDOUS CONDITION CAN LEAD TO MOLD, ROT AND RUST ISSUES WITH THE TRUCK, AS WELL AS POTENTIALLY SHORT OUT ELECTRICAL DUE TO WATER RUNNING DOWN THE VEHICLE'S INTERIOR FRAME AND COLLECTING ON THE VEHICLE'S FLOORBOARD AND ELECTRICAL CHANNEL AREAS. DUE TO THE AMOUNT OF COMPLAINANTS REGARDING THIS DISCREPANCY, A RECALL SHOULD BE SOUGHT AND ISSUED TO FIX THE DISCREPANCIES.

STRONG EXHAUST FUMES IN CAB SINCE FALL 2016 DEALER UNABLE AND/OR UNWILLING TO DEAL WITH IT. I WAS TOLD TO HAVE A WINDOW OPEN AND AIR CIRCULATION ACTIVE. HOWEVER THE A/C IS AFFECTED NOW ALSO. I AM NOT COMFORTABLE DRIVING THIS VEHICLE SINCE IT GIVES ME A HEADACHE IN A SHORT TIME
